Morgan Harrington Murder: Rumors Of A Suspects Arrest
Charlottesville, VA– This afternoon, originating on a VT Athletics Site rumors clogged the web that a suspect was placed under arrest for the murder of Morgan Harrington. After my 20th comment in 10 minutes and 12th email inquiry about it, I went to the source.
..There has been no arrest. It is an unfounded rumor and I have no idea how or where it started. I can only assume it stemmed from the fact that we completed our investigation of the crime scene at Anchorage Farm early this afternoon, I guess I will probably have to put out an email this afternoon..”

As exclusively reported yesterday on blinkoncrime.com, it is expected that the and VSP upcoming conversations with those on the list with permission to hunt on Anchorage Farm, will propel the investigation into the murder of Morgan Harrington quickly.
However, Virginia State Police are not discussing whether or not they have a person of interest or suspect in this case.
There is however, unreleased new information and new evidence gleaned from the crime scene. VSP will not disclose what personal effects were found with Morgan’s remains at this time.
The viral arrest rumor was not the only odd occurrance today.
In what appears to be an unrelated coincidence, an explosive device was detinated on the train tracks close to James Madison University this morning. A nearby dorm has been evacuated in connection with materials found at the scene, and a criminal investigation has been launched by the ATF.
JMU is the school several of Morgan’s friends attend, and from where the group departed to attend the Metallica Concert that fateful night of October 17, 2009.

RE: Post 875. I too have heard similar rumors of someone in the Crozet area being taken into custody regarding this case. I heard this rumor from two of my friends who are long time Crozet residents. They even gave me a name. I will withold the name and intials at this time as I don’t know if there is any truth to this. Do you know Blink if there are any truths at all to this or was it apart of the whole original suspect rumor which was put to rest earlier ?

If it were not for the wonderful conduct of the Harringtons and you BOCers, I really would wonder what the world is coming to: The Hook’s journalists have more integrity than ABC’s?! (In general, I have had respect for Courtenay Stuart over the years, although not if her reporters are attempting to befriend RSOs just to get information.)
I am appalled by the errors in the ABC piece, BTW. Where are the proofreaders? Puts me in mind of a t-shirt I saw the other day: “Bad grammar makes me [sic].”

Now it was found “last fall”? They don’t say it was her shirt, though. Is this a different shirt discovery?

No a COD has not be released. I hate to do the he said she said but.. A woman on another site said her son and his friends heard a guy was bragging that night about picking up/having a blonde hitch hiker in his car.. paraphrasing: he wasn’t going home unless he got any. He happens to be 28 and he happens to have worked on the Anchorage Farm. She didn’t release his name, but she posted (of his 81 offenses) case numbers, date of birth, initials. I have never in my life searched such records but it doesnt take much to figure it out. He was arrested in either late Oct/ early Nov. They’ve had him in custody, which is MAYBE why they thought there was no immediate threat to the public. When they found her body it could have thrown them off (because of the local SO) or further pushed their belief he was behind this (if a gun shot wound was obvious). Whether or not he was rep for Morgan he is serving 4 years for a firearms charge.
I do not know if all this is relevant, I was just adding what was bring thrown around.
I live in PA, have never met Morgan, i just cant imagine what she went through, and CAN NOT wait to see whomever responsible to be held accountable. <– and then some

Have never entirely bought the “at 9:30 abducted her/killed her and drove to Anchorage Farm (or vice versa)/tidied up and drove back to meet up folks at JPJ by 11:30 (or show’s end) to establish an alibi.” That’s much to do in a timeframe that pitch black night would have to squeeze tighter. That led me to wonder about a nearby “safe place to stash her,” with placement of the body in the field accomplished at another time.
It might be objected that a random assailant just passing through would not be returning to JPJ; his alibi might be elsewhere. But in that case, why Anchorage Farm, with its physical access challenges? And would such a predator have “current enough” knowledge of the “neighborhood” (relatively recent building there) to feel “safe” doing his dirty work in the dark?
When I start thinking about cases both solved and unsolved, the first ones that come to mine are of Meredith Emerson=Solved (serial killer), Charity Powers=solved (Opportunist), Kristi Cornwell=Unsolved, Jane McGowan=Solved(Opportunist) and Keighley Ann Alyea=Solved(abusive EB and mutual friends participated)
-Witnesses (9 friends) who are afraid to talk..Witnesses who each give a different account (seeing MH in different places for seemingly different plausible reasons)..Capricious weather conditions that can obliterate your outdoor crime scene..(as Mr. Bass despairingly describing on camera “there was very little left”, “absolutely nothing”, “difficult to imagine evidence that would not have been messed up by the weather) The worst thing you can have to tell a family is you have no leads. It’s certainly possible LE thinks they know who did it, but without an admission from the BG or enough matched physical or circumstantial evidence, there’s no probable cause to make arrests. Reference my post in the early 700′s section, it was only my first thoughts after of first hearing of the news breaks and how the incidents could be related. I no longer think that. I’m going back to the drawing board…Are there any available tax accessor websites for the local counties which provide sale information of the grantor’s and grantees of land and homes? I’d like to do a people search based on that information with some advanced cloud tags results. I’m currently researching any similarities in the solved Farmville family murder suspects travels…and by chance I came across these two following links to an unknown person who is commenting on the MH case. The second video has only been seen/played three times is the counter is correct and I’d suspect that is because I just watched it two of those times…He talks in the first about “what is going on, on the East Coast specifically referencing the MH case, but in the second link the background (as he is driving) is blanketed with snow as I have family in Virginia and I know you’ve just received several inches over the past few days suggesting he is in fact on the East Coast possibly in Virginia. Maybe someone will recognize the scenery or know what city he is narrating in. I just thought it peculiar that he made these videos but hardly must not have any followers or people commenting on his blog? SO much has been written about Morgan’s demise.I cannot believe the distance from where the concert was….. to where she was spotted on the bridge. The arena has no cameras in the lot? The university property has no cameras on their property? She tried to get back in, why did she out out in the first place? I do not think that was EVER answered. I have a hard time believing her friends had no clue why she left? Meeting someone on the sly? She didn’t go to the bathroom.Its quite the mystery that will not be answered until someone is caught and even then we might not find out. So many great points in all these posts. Blink – Yesterday I had promised to come back to you regarding my assertion that a certain 44yr old S.O. on the run was not our Kickee. I can now confirm that this can not be, as he was incarcerated as of late september and during the time of Morgan’s disappearance.

Does GRH ring a bell and if so what do we know about him?
I haven’t read all the posts so please forgive me if this thought has already been posted.
Perhaps a person(s)outside the arena who noticed Morgan trying to get back in told her they had an extra ticket in their car that they would give to her. Morgan, by all accounts being a trusting and kind person, would have, in this scenerio, most likely accompanied the person(s) to their car rather than tell the person she would wait while they walked to the car to get the ticket for her.
My understanding is that the concert was not sold out so someone telling Morgan they had an extra ticket they were unable to scalp, for instance, probably wouldn’t seem suspicious to her.
This would fit with the witness account that stated Morgan was walking beside people in the parking lot, playfully kicking her leg in the air. Morgan’s reported mood around the arena when trying unsuccessfully to get back in had changed to a good mood because she believed she was on the way to pick up a ticket that would get her back in to the concert.

Which leads me to believe, respectfully, that either Blink is referring to the fact that the BG is known by LE, and yes, it is her ex boyfriend who killed her OR if she was saying that yes, it is possible because we cant disprove it.
On another note, I AM tripped up by the 20 year old Sex Offender who lives a mile away. I dont think you see very many 20 year old repeat offenders labeled as “violent” who actually commit rape (and not a form of 1st or 2nd degree sexual assault), and one who looks as adjusted and normal as he does. I only saw one violent rape charge on his account when I looked, but I may have been mis-reading it, and I havent checked the page again.
It crossed my mind that since we dont know the entire story about this guy or the incident, its possible that it has to legally be called a violent rape charge, and that the word “violent” might cover a myriad of things. I dont really know enough about this area to be entirely sure. It happened 3 years ago, and so he may have just not registered again because he is young and lazy and just didnt want to. Again, I am not entirely sure…
Until we can disprove him, he has to remain a POI, because the coincidence is just very odd.
to S.Jones, post 961, I have to believe LE is doing their best with what resources they have; respectively, i know we are all impatient and disapprove of the way some things are being handled, but don’t lose your faith here. And while I “have the floor”, Blink, is there any word on the scouting cameras at Anchor. farm and what evidence might have been captured on them?
It seems one of the reporters at Hook agrees with Blink on cameras at JPJ.

Courtney is correct and I agree. I will be honest, I am getting ticked off at some of the rookie errors in reporting and wondering if it is not on purpose for exposure. If that sounds harsh, than allow me to express that reporting was just irresponsible and not fact checked.
No discernable images of Morgan on that video per VSP, multiple sources- confirmed.
A shirt, resembling one Morgan was wearing, was found, and imo was an orchestration and is not Morgan’s.

I found a link re: GRH from Insession boards today at work but I can’t find the paper I printed out at work right this second. He was the 28-year-old Crozet guy and according to this post boasted to a friend the night MOrgan went missing that “he had a picked up a blonde hitchhiking and he wasn’t taking her back there until he got some”…Sorry I don’t have a link at this very second but it was Insession boards..I’ll find it asap…
In addition to my previous post regarding the “kick witness”, he said he was waiting outside for friends when he encountered Morgan. Morgan was seen walking away from the arena into the parking area beside, but not neccesarily with, four males. I wonder how many friends the “kick witness” was waiting for if indeed he was waiting for friends.
The only thing that makes me skeptical of more than one person being involved is the fact that you would think one person would have told someone by now or tried to cut a deal with police. On the other hand, maybe that has already happened and that is why police have made statements that seem to indicate they may have a POI in their sights.
The multiple person theory does seem likely with respect to carrying the body however Morgan could have been taken by gunpoint to the farm by one person and murdered there.
This link said guy was familiar with farm, hunter?, had a rap sheet: worse was assault and battery but the others were many public drunks, maybe gun at school, that could be worse than A&B, Ia don’t know. Whoever posted on insession was quoting someone or quoting their “hubby”. Only used initials GRH.

Since Mr. Bass said he works the farm himself, are we to assume (the dreaded word!) that the farm had is from an adjacent property?
Is there any known connection prior to Oct 17th between MH and Jamil Tucker?

My daughter has a mini denim from AE and the pocket is a little thing but it is a pocket!
Morgan looks to me…like she would have held onto a ticket. Her walls were covered with music memorabilia, maybe she would have liked to keep it, to tape up with the posters. Maybe someone has this?
Could this be the dilemma, the ticket has already been scanned and he is re-allowed entry by a friend or he just waits outside and “pretends” to his friends, he has been the one waiting?

RUMom: this has taken me so long to write, tonight but we have the same thought. surely, they believed she was there after seeing the video of her trying to get back in? then, did they not believe any of the JPJA ticket window people that said they saw her? If they didn’t, then they didn’t believe her friends from the get-go.

I was just thinking…if Morgan was told by someone that they had an extra ticket in their car that they were unable to scalp and would give to her in order to get her to walk to the parking lot/their car, perhaps that is what she actually told her friends when they called. “I’ll be back in the arena in about 10 minutes…I met someone who has an extra ticket they’re giving me”. If that were the case, and police didn’t want that information released, it would explain the friend’s lack of concern after the phone conversation with Morgan. It would also explain the friends not appearing on tv, etc That fits with the statements that have been made indicating the friends discussed ways to get back in with Morgan when they called her.
