Morgan Harrington Murder: Harringtons Debut Morgan Rocks
Charlottesville, VA- Continuing the crusade to memorialize their daughter Morgan and keep the public focused on the dangerous killer(s) still at large, Dan and Gil Harrington will be meeting with media today at 1PM.
The meeting agenda will include the Harrington’s ongoing concerns for womens safety on and off campus, and their fears associated with the fact that there has not been an arrest in their daughters murder to date.
The Harringtons are also expected to announce MORGAN ROCKS.
In response to a hand-painted river rock, lovingly and generously created and delivered to the Copely bridge by blinkoncrime.com contributor Skyler, containing the phrase “Rock On”; The Harringtons have decided to widen the trend.

We are starting a “gathering of rocks” at Morgan’s memorial on
Morgan’s Bridge at Copeley Road on the North Grounds of the University of Virginia. When you come to Charlottesville and to the bridge bring a rock and a prayer to add to the collection. Leave both at the bridge!
Morgan, Gil, Alex and I continue to need your support and prayers as we wait for Morgan’s murder(s) to be brought to justice. Your support in raising society’s awareness of the need to change the culture of acceptance of violence against women and in so doing change the laws that allow these crimes to go unpunished.

I haven’t had a chance to read all the most recent comments yet so I apologize if these points have already been covered.
In listening to the Harrington’s statements, made from JPJ arena, and statements made by State Police, as reported by the news anchor (link below), a few things stood out to me.
Firstly, Gil Harrington’s statement that, “There is a man monster in Charlottesville, Virginia who likes to hurt young girls”. Gil Harrington specifically stated “in Charlottesville” which would indicate to me she has good reason to believe she knows who the BG is and that the BG lives in Charlottesville.
Two other statements stood out to me as well. These were statements made by State Police and reported by the news anchor that appear to be responses to statements made by the Harringtons.
The first statement made by State Police and reported by the news anchor followed Dr. Harrington’s statement, “I guess part of what I don’t understand is the reports that Morgan, as she was leaving the building was bleeding and on multiple attempts attempted to get in the building and yet no one attended to her”.
The new anchor reports, “State Police tell us Morgan most likely fell ***outside*** the arena, cutting her chin”.
The information regarding Morgan’s injury to her chin was obtained from witnesses who noted her injuries when she was ***inside*** the arena. I don’t understand why State Police appear to be disputing that fact and making a statement to the contrary.
The second statement made by State Police and reported by the news anchor as a response to a statement made by the Harringtons was with respect to Gil Harrington stating, as noted above, “There is a man monster in Charlottesville, Virginia who likes to hurt young girls”.
The news anchor reported, “State Police tell us they’ve found no connections”.
The news report ends with the following statement, “The Harringtons told us they are in regular contact with the police and they go to Charlottesville every two to three weeks to get updates on the investigation”.
The police have remained quiet regarding their investigation which leads me to believe they felt it absolutely neccesary to make the statements noted above. I can understand how they may feel it necessary to dispute the Charlottesville connection however, again, I don’t understand why they would dispute the fact that Morgan was injured inside the arena as was reported by several witnesses. That makes no absolutely no sense to me at all unless they feel the witnesses that provided the information regarding Morgan’s injury were being dishonest.
I wonder if it would be prudent to take a closer look at the witnesses who provided the injury-inside-the-arena information.

MV is the sole witness mentioned by LE in relaying their hitch-
hiking story. She is perhaps the sole witness but perhaps not – you are right. I’d say they believe her and don’t have another witness to name. The HH “thing” is such a hot button issue that if they had more witnesses I think we’d know that.
My point was that the negative info (underage drinking? hitch-hiking?) being reported by these two people might influence LE to view Morgan in something other than an urgently protective way. It might then prompt a functionary in LE to tell Mrs. H that Morgan was “dressed provocatively,” for example.
I actually find Rader to be earnest and seemingly honorable, so am not just trashing LE for kicks here. I’m not trashing them at all.

eloise,someone ,somewhere on here said there was noticable bone damage to morgan’s left shoulder,who was that by the way,i’ll have to go back and look,if that were indeed to be true,i didnt picture her facing ,i pictured her fleeing,which would mean perp had a left swing ,but only from that position,i quickly realized.after i sorted out the hand eye coordination.

I have no idea if the guy is involved in Morgan’s murder… but when I looked up DAC a while back when he was mentioned- wow. His face has sociopath written all over it. His name and face have always stuck in my mind. He is also large, at 6′2″ and 200 lbs.
Someone refresh my memory- is he the individual that was rumored to be in Charlottesville for a funeral on the weekend of Oct 17th?
Also, did he have any musical connections- or a connection to cheddar jumpsuit?
He is UNRELATED to the Clark family associated with that service, I verified with the family.

Is there any possibility that DAC “Whiteshadow” knows Stinky Cheese Boy b/c they did time together? DAC is 5 years older than Cheese Boy. They do have in common that they committed rape at the age of 16, but I am not sure due to the 5 year difference in ages if they could know each other that way.

My friend said that the same company out of Richmond hires all of the crew for the load in/load out for every non-sporting event at JPJ arena. All of the crew that works these events are from Charlottesville, Richmond, Lynchburg and other nearby areas.
Some of the crew is just hired for the load in – meaning they’ll arrive in the morning and work 4-6 hours and are released by 2-3pm. Some are just hired for the load out and only have to show up after the event. The majority are hired for the load in and load out but after the load in – typically mid afternoon they are released and just hang out in the city or on campus until time to come back following the event.
These bands and groups that perform all have technicians and a small group that travel with them. But ALL of the load in / load out crew are locals to the Central VA area and hired by this one company.

Kathy your post reminds me that no matter how much digging anyone does into online connections, there is no substitute for feet-on-the-ground investigation and PEOPLE COMING FORWARD with information. It is amazing what you have been able to uncover during the missing persons conference.

I have always thought the gate in the first photo was used because it was a straight shot. Before you and others were able to get the great pictures of these gates the aerial shots showed a clearing if this path was used which I thought might be campsite or party spot.
I have seen these cattle gates with loose upper hinge clamps where the entire gate could be lifted off the lower hinge.
Blink, didn’t LE already say they knew who the farm was accessed? I don’t remember.
I believe they know how AF was accessed, but they have not released that publicly.

Well, it sounds you just found the explanation for all the mystery about the shirt. If it was custom made, this was the one distinctive characteristic LE didn’t release. The shirt was unique…
Even if LE didn’t tell the Harringtons about DNA or other evidence on the shirt, they *knew* it was Morgan’s. And after her remains were found without a shirt, LE knew as well. Maybe the DNA samples are still waiting to be processed…
justiceformorgan- I too picked up on the statement attributed to LE that Morgan’s chin injury happened “outside” the arena. Although, I have learned to take all news reports in this case with a grain of salt due to mis-reporting.
I think in this circumstance, we need to clear this up. Maybe Blink can chime in? Has VSP’s stance changed as to where Morgan sustained her chin injury?
I will seek clarification, but I am of the opinion that the injury was sustained indoors, prior to Morgan being outside JPJ.

Why would they be dishonest? What if they saw her injured outside instead? That means someone was outside with her to have noted this injury. I think there is a strong attempt to make this crime occur after leaving the JPJ arena. While obviously her murder itself did, but to suggest the ties that brought Morgan with her killer(s) had nothing to do with JPJ arena does not seem to have been factually established yet. I tend to think this contradiction has to do with inaccurate reportingas well TA. But has anyone ever pondered if an assault attempt occurred in the bathroom, causing her to want to escape?
Concerning the provocative dress: This infuriates me. Truly, Morgan could have been naked & this should not have made any difference to her safety. I think VSP owes the Harrington’s a public clarification on this point.

The twenty-first annual “Take Back the Night” will be held in loving memory of Morgan Harrington. Morgan disappeared on October 17, 2009, outside a Metallica concert in Charlottesville. In January her body was found on a farm about 10 miles south of where she was last seen.
The purpose of this rally and candlelight march is to bring our community together to protest violence against women and to promote awareness of attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that perpetuate this violence. Womanspace, which organizes this event, encourages everyone to take action to change our society — a society in which women have reason to fear being out alone at night.
This event raises awareness of violence against women, shares resources available locally, and gives individuals tools to help create positive change.

Blink, one of your replies to us on another thread was something like “what if I said Red Hill gate” as access point. What I’m asking is,
1) did you confirm by asking that question that the Red Hill Road gate just east of the Hardware River was the access point, even though VSP was not willing to confirm?
or
2) did you just want to put that idea out there to get us to brainstorm, meaning you haven’t really confirmed what VSP is unwilling to?

There are local stagehand unions nationwide. They fall under the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees. The local that covers Charlottesville is local #87. Virginia is a right to work state. This allows companies to provide non-union stagehand labor at similar rates without providing insurance or benefits to their workforce. Virginia is a right to work state.
JPJ arena has a link on their site to the company that provides local stagehand labor for events. It is called Stagemonkie, LLC. They appear to be based in Richmond.
Stagehands are subject to three shifts, or calls, during the course of a single day performance. There is the load-in, show call, and load out. The load-in number of locals will vary depending on the size of the show. On a show the size of Mettalica, it used to be about 120 stagehands. If I had to guess I would say it is about 80-100 now, counting stagehands, riggers, wardrobe people, runners, etc. It would start off at a full compliment of people, with numbers being pared back during the day as the specific department’s tasks are completed. Some stagehands would work all day and evening. They may assist the road crew in setting up lighting, audio, or band gear. They may be kept on the call to help move gear during sound checks for the different bands. This is probably about 10-15 people. They may be cut, or may go to the show call to operate a spotlight or be a part of the deck crew for band gear changes between acts.
There is a call back for load-out, usually around 11:00pm. It would generally consist of the same peoople that were involved in the morning’s load-in.
Load out is usually about 2-5 hours, depending on the size of a show. Mettalica’s load-out is probably about 3-4 hours.

susanm- I scrolled back quite a few pages and can’t seem to find a post containing this… if possible, can you find the post and timestamp please? I’d like to read it. I don’t understand how anyone could know this without some serious inside knowledge.
To those short of patience and strong of will, keep in mind there are literally hundreds and possible in excess of 1,000 of people who might need to be contacted regarding events at or near JPJA and also AF and its environs. Interviewees: concert goers; students; vendors; roadies; friends; associates; co-workers; clubs; musicians; tenants; neighbors; offenders; C-Ville wingnuts; JMU, VT, and so on. It takes time. There often are some nuances about a crime which will never have an explanation; there are some questions you will never know the answer to.
Also, there appears to be some evidence of an effort to confuse and mislead LE. That all has to be sorted out and it further slows the process. Not sure how big the VSP team is, but even if it is 6-7, they are stretched thin. And all the while, new cases are coming in which also have to be investigated.

I am about 95% positive i saw this girl between 8:30 and 8:45. I was waiting with a friend by the entrance to the arena (im not sure if more than one entrance was open, we were right by the parking garage) when this girl tried to go into the show. It appeared that she didn’t have a ticket. When the people working the venue searched her pocket book they pulled a bottle of prescription pills and a flask. The people gave her the pills back but kept the flask. If any of her friends know if she had a flask and pills, i think it would confirm that this was her, and at least the timeline is a little better. I also remember she was wearing black gloves, or wrist wraps of some sort. I reported this to the Charlottesville police and told them this, but they didnt seem very interested.
I do recall seeing that, but my question is, why would they be searching this person at all if they did not have a ticket? There would be no need.

and, on a very serious note…my beautiful sister was beaten to within a inch of her life…all inside of a vehicle. Broken rib, fractured wrists, split lip, and yes, a sprained ankle, if you can believe it. She kept kicking to get out. Unfortunately, it was not the first one and it was not the last. She lost her life not because of a hit but running from one. I’m not saying this is what happened to Morgan, as we do not know of a crime scene, per se. Just know that violence can and does happen in strange places. We only know she was found at AF. I wish LE would release something. I’m thinking that they could as they know how to do this without jeapordizing the case, Right?
Eloise, I also agree with TA that it could possibly have been a case of inaccurate reporting however, if it was, it’s a doozy.
With respect to your question regarding motive for someone to provide dishonest information of that nature to LE, I guess it could be a case of someone wanting to insert themselves into the “story”. The news reports I’ve read to date do not support that though as it was indicated they wished to remain anonymous.
The only other reason I can come up with would be to explain blood or other DNA transferred during the crime. Not saying I believe this is the case, but it would explain why someone would want to say Morgan fell, cut her chin and was crying and bleeding (all over them possibly?) inside the arena if, in fact, that did not happen.

I know the FBI was involved in this case at one point. Does anyone know if the FBI is still involved? If they aren’t, will the case get transferred to them exclusively, or to anyone else, if there isn’t a break in the case, a POI named or an arrest made within a certain period of time?
The FBI is involved in an assist only capacity. They would only ever take over this case if there is a qualifying reason to do so, or if requested by the VSP.

I’ve collected the finest range of freindster testimonials a man could ask for and now the bumboclot machine’s bottom fall out and I find I’ve been kickin in the wrong klub house. Oh woe is me….I’m gonna kill somebody. Stay tuned my sweets. Carnival machines rage in the music videos on my desktop.”
Actually, I’ve always found it strange to hear that Morgan was repeatedly dropping her purse. I wonder if the person reporting that also indicated they picked it up for her.
When my friends and I were Morgan’s age (this is going waaaay back), we had some pretty “Wild and Crazy” (SNL) nights. Seriously though, we were party girls on the weekends, and, although we may have dropped a few drinks, I don’t ever remember any of us ever dropping our purse repeatedly.

Just wanted to clarify that I am not implying Morgan was a party girl ~ unfortunately, I didn’t know Morgan, so I don’t know if she was or wasn’t. Just referring to the statement that was made in which someone said she appeared to have been drinking and was dropping her purse repeatedly.

I do want to say that, yes yes yes, there has been one person of interest that has been mentioned here that was a college baseball player.
However, I beg to differ in your analogy with Morgans murder in comparison to pitching and to baseball in general??? I find that very unusual? Hitting the spots? Never have heard that phrase.
In all sincerity and respect for you, how could you ever, seriously, equate basebaseball and a murder even in the same sentence? I don’t care if you are the “Unit”. Murder and baseball are 2 different deals completely. ( Thank god OJ played football) .

Oh Dear Gil,
My greatest prayer is that one day soon,
you will again feel a new joy…all in time.
The basic assumptions we held about our life are wrong now and must be remade and adjusted. Like we have no daughter anymore. It is painful and hard to reconfigure our reality. I have to watch myself and not let that pain turn me bitter and sour. I started to go that way working in the yard the other day cleaning up some of the debris and twigs from a very long winter.
Usually this task is fun for me. I enjoy seeing the greening of the earth and feeling the burgeoning life that spring brings forth. This year I didn’t allow that quickening of joy in myself. Instead my internal dialogue was “ the very dirt is coming alive today, but that box of ashes on the coffee table is as dead and inert as it was a week ago, and as dead as it’ll be a year from now. It isn’t right.” Not a good direction for my thoughts. The pit falls and pity parties are everywhere.
Our new life is devoid of much joy- perhaps we will find it sometime in the future. We are still working on survival. The caring and love of others pulls me from despair the path to survival. Once we have mastered survival we can encourage the blossoming of joy again. Someday.

Good heavens, if the way Morgan was dressed is considered “provocative”, then I would be “asking for it” every day of my life! I mean, really! There is no photo of her in the outfit that night, but the way it is described is exactly the way I dress all the time! A black miniskirt, which I can almost guarantee is sort of loose fitting and just above the knee, as that is the way we all (us “alternative/rock/metal/whatever” girls) wear it. It’s not one of those skin-tight ultra-short stretch micro-minis like a prostitute would wear. Probably straight down with a zip and then slightly flared towards the bottom, made of a thickish materia;. Okay, a Pantera T-shirt, which would be quite loose-fitting and come down to her hips and the sleeves down to her elbows – metal T-shirts don’t come in low-cleavage style! Thick black tights (not lacy-top, suspender-type lingerie stockings!) Those tights are so thick they look like leggings. Knee-length lace-up boots with a flat heel (not exactly “Pretty Women” thigh-high stilletos!). The only skin she was showing was her forearms! She was more covered up than 99% of the women I see every day! And in all the other photos of Morgan at parties and festivals, etc., does she ever look “provocative”? No! Jeans, T-shirts, etc. I am astounded anyone would say that. The “non-metal” type girls are generally less covered up than that, with their midriff-baring and cleavage-showing tight tank tops (that say “Bitch” or something across the chest) and low-rise jeans (usually showing a “muffin top” and the top of a g-string sticking out!) And in their photos, they are always sticking their tongues out or giving that so-called sexy “trout-lips” pout. No photo of Morgan shows her like that – quite the opposite, in fact. What a world we live in.

The official timeline states that Morgan was in the arena for about two hours before being seen outside.
LE says that Morgan’s chin was hurt outside.
Morgan was seen inside with a hurt chin, after Lamb of God.
Therefore, Morgan entered the arena, watched a few opening acts, exited the arena and injured her chin, then somehow got back in to be seen crying and bleeding in the bathroom. But Morgan was not able to gain re-entry.
I reckon it’s time for some truth to start happening. All of these statements cannot possibly be true since they contradict each other.
All of this occurred while all the security cameras were busy missing Morgan’s every step? I call BS.
It is my belief that the CCTV is one of “we have a $14M facility that seats 15K people at a time that has state of the art video and broadcasting equipment and we purchased our CCTV equipment at the scratch and dent sale of the going out of business aisle at Circuit City.”
