Morgan Harrington Murder: Harringtons Debut Morgan Rocks
Charlottesville, VA- Continuing the crusade to memorialize their daughter Morgan and keep the public focused on the dangerous killer(s) still at large, Dan and Gil Harrington will be meeting with media today at 1PM.
The meeting agenda will include the Harrington’s ongoing concerns for womens safety on and off campus, and their fears associated with the fact that there has not been an arrest in their daughters murder to date.
The Harringtons are also expected to announce MORGAN ROCKS.
In response to a hand-painted river rock, lovingly and generously created and delivered to the Copely bridge by blinkoncrime.com contributor Skyler, containing the phrase “Rock On”; The Harringtons have decided to widen the trend.
MORGAN ROCKS
We are starting a “gathering of rocks” at Morgan’s memorial on
Morgan’s Bridge at Copeley Road on the North Grounds of the University of Virginia. When you come to Charlottesville and to the bridge bring a rock and a prayer to add to the collection. Leave both at the bridge!
Morgan, Gil, Alex and I continue to need your support and prayers as we wait for Morgan’s murder(s) to be brought to justice. Your support in raising society’s awareness of the need to change the culture of acceptance of violence against women and in so doing change the laws that allow these crimes to go unpunished.
Skyler’s slate rock was the first. A beautiful painted slate rock with an image of Anchorage Farm, Tibetan prayer flags and an angel rising to the heavens. Morgan, Rock ON!!!

I am 100% with you Red Ranger, there have been sooooo many inconsistencies in this case, even AFTER original details have been stated, they have changed mid-stream (what the hell is going on I must say). Her not being on camera seems to be bothering me the most at this point. How is it that we have found Dee in many instances, but not Morgan? Are we possibly not looking at what appears to be obvious here?
I believe I HAVE seen Morgan on video, we covered it here a few times.
I believe I have seen her kiss Amy on the cheek and head to the bathroom, as well as the back of her head during LOG.
The problem is their are almost no cameras inside the arena, this came from patron footage.
I believe the term Joe Rader used is “discernable” as in, the LE translation is unverifiable to be her. That said, I also believe the JPJ arena is seriously considering the liabilities of such an issue, thus “the downplay”.
I researched the architectural plans for this facility and reviewed the security consultants data very early.
Whatever system they have is grossly inadequate, period. I would be willing to bet it is not even up to HLS code.

Why does it matter how Morgan was dressed? Why should it matter? Well, she was attractive too. She was blond. She was thin. She was wearing boots. She was a female. Isn’t that really it? The real reason they (predators) think they can do whatever they want to us –because we are women. It infuriates me!
What the hell? When are we (society) going to stop blaming the victim and blame the criminals?
It’s pretty sad if that statement about Morgan dressing “provocatively” came from LE. Sad.
Has that been quoted by anyone, I have yet to see the context of that, or was Gil saying that she was told that by LE? I would like to get that nailed down before I comment on it, except to say, I don’t care if this child was running buck naked down the street. No person, NO PERSON, has the right to accost, or put their mitts on another human being against their will, anytime, ever. If someone actually inferred her outfit put her in jeopardy I may have to sock them one.

ALL (esp. and inc. RNmom): I’ve set up the post office box to which anyone here (near or far, inside or outside of the US) can send a rock to be placed at Morgan’s memorial on the Copeley Rd. bridge. The post office box is available as of today, so for those contributors who are creative and/or artistically inclined–and even those (like me) who aren’t–please feel free to find a rock and get painting.

Sorry, this was too obscure! The movie is about a few small time criminals and a multi million dollar robbery – the depot they robbed only had the most ridiculous burglar alarm system, and they could walk straight in and get away with all the cash. Everybody expected the place to be extremely secure.
It reminded me of JPJ right from the start. Everybody believed it must have had a proper CCTV system.

Blink, I believe you DID see her on camera and she WAS at the arena, but I CAN’T believe that JPJ does not have video surveillance throughout the arena, ESPECIALLY at the entrances. This is security 101. Their liability and insurance premiums would be THROUGH THE ROOF!! Probably enough so to place them out of business. Now, we know they were/are still in business, so….
I was at a local bar a few years back, I had lost my keys, the owner brought me to a back room and he was able to zoom in on me and follow me throughout the evening. I found my keys because of the video. Mind you, this was a local bar, not a multimillion dollar establishment.
I, for the life of me, can’t believe that JPJ did not have adequate cameras during this event, the thought of it is impossible.

I am thinking that I won’t even try to get that detailed in my photo postings. We might all go nuts trying to track the rocks with the photos and the people. I am just going to take photos after you have posted here about rocks being placed. I will take one or two zooming in on the rocks and take one or two zooming out on the memorial, and then post here that I have done so. Which reminds me, I need to check on the memorial today after all the rain and wind we’ve had, to see if my banner is still flying. Sun’s out! yippee.

To Total Amateur, you’ve put yourself down twice already this a.m. and I think you are asking great questions! (Not that I’m a good judge, but I want to chime in w/ props to you.) BTW I can only confirm that CB/Dirty Horse were scheduled to play Maya 10/17/09 at 10:30 pm. I cannot confirm that the gig took place, and I’ve tried to be able to.
One question: Anyone know if the Greenberry’s Coffee shop in JPJA was serving that night? I only recently learned there’s one in the arena, and I’m curious about someone who (I think) works for Greenberry’s.

I’m sure some of them are, these aren’t the ones I’m worried about. In an ideal situation, a kid/young adult would be living with two mentally and physically healthy, educated, law-abiding parents who didn’t drink or do drugs and who put that child’s wellbeing at the forefront of their day. They would help him/her process their experiences/shared thoughts and feelings and work through them and or get them professional help if need be. These ideal (or even “good enough”) parents would be involved in their kid’s life, attend parent/teacher conferences, limit and monitor their online use, help them with their homework, give them praise and encouragement and give negative consequences (like taking away privileges) when grades slipped – due to not trying their best (ex: studying and doing homework, etc.) and getting them help for any suspected learning disability. These kids would learn how to work through their anger and fears with healthy coping behaviors that they learned from the adults who care about them enough to prepare them for life on their own. These young adults would have such a strong sense of self-esteem and self-respect that they wouldn’t be caught dead in that funny looking clown getup running around threatening people and trying to act tough, or worse….harm others to feel better about themselves.
I have read a lot of posts here and many of you sound like you fit that description of a healthy parent who does the best to guide your children in the right direction. It’s certainly not your kids I’m worried about!
Susanm, as you can see, I am having such a hard time getting the “creativity outlet” with those type of lyrics. Those lyrics are the fuel that drives some of these kids who weren’t lucky enough to have healthy parenting.

Dear Blink and Total: I have searched and asked for that video a million times, ok, not a million but a lot! I think that I can provide a link. I am searching for it. I have a computer virus on mine so I do not have my favs to rely upon.
But,I saw two blondes, one shorter than the other. The taller one kisses on cheek and walks off into the darkness, inside of the arena. I have stated that I saw it linked here and on “youtube”. I even described what I saw in a post of mine. It is shot from above from a patron’s camera not of one at JPJA. It is hard to see if it is Morgan so that is why the “no discerable image” of Morgan. But really, couldn’t we go with it was her and she was or looked ok at the time? Someone, somewhere said what happened inside arena didn’t matter. They are concentrating outside of arena. I have always begged to differ.

Yep. There was a video on here of a girl with super long, blonde hair standing on the floor and thrashing (meaning with her head, not body–as in dancing to metal music), I believe to LOG. B, I did not mean to lead folks to believe *you* thought that was Morgan. Sorry. Some of us did think it was a possibility, though.

I really think HE dumps the purse not Morgan! He cared to make it look like something else…a missing person who had run away. And these employees(?) are largely unaccounted for during the performances? (They wouldn’t be allowed/in a position to see Metallica??)
Regardless, these four young white guys walking away from the arena with MH and ending up in the RV lot with her between at least 9 and 9:10 p.m. *are* unaccounted for in regard to this case. I thought roadies/stage hands/cleanup crews, etc. too when Gil stated that she believed that Morgan was dead before the end of the concert. To me that implied that the suspected murderer(s) needed to be back by the end of the concert. It makes it all the more interesting that some of these may be locals familiar with the area. For some reason, knowing that the FBI is involved comforts and assures me that all angles are being measured. I hope I’m not being naïve.
As for personal safety, even when they catch this guy, there will be more like him out there. We are a lot more safe when we are always on high alert.

We are looking for the video that shows the two blondes at the bottom of the stairs. Maybe it was only posted on “YouTube” but I am sure that it was also linked to BOC, by one of us. I may have missed our link in the above listed articles but I do not believe so. But I will admit if I did. I’m working off of hubby’s computer and I am not that familiar with it. I want my own back. I think that we need to go into late Oct, Nov. or even Dec. I’m not seeing any link after that. But we did talk about serveral vids on Feb. 7 around the 3:00pm hour.
O/T: Did anyone link to some horror-core sites and pick up a virus? I was searching some people and have not been right since. Add in the fact, there are some really sick individuals out there that say they are “expressing their art”.

FWIW, I remember discussion about a video with a blond girl kissing another girl on the cheek and disappearing into the darkness of the JPJ. I also remember us thinking that was probably Morgan. I don’t have a link to the video or remember when, but I can say that I first started reading here on the article about the high school basketball scout/furniture store guy. So it was sometime between then and now, and closer to then. I hope that helps narrow it down some!

My second post after months of lurking — for Observer and Juliemooly on ID’ing the rocks–all BOC rocks could be coded with a certain color dot, star, X, etc., either on the top or perhaps side (so that when stacked, the code would still be viewable).

A. I’ve seen two different videos linked in this thread that seem to place Morgan and her friends on the floor near the stage during LOG. How confident are any of the rest of you of these IDs? I don’t think it belongs in the “known fact” column, but is it probable, possible or speculative?

Assuming they were on the floor during LOG, and reconsidering: If they stayed down there, and she really left to go to the bathroom, maybe she couldn’t get back with them since her ticket was for section 312. That alone could have been the start of the trouble.
B. The “kiss” of her friend when she left. Where was that reported? By the kissed friend? Which one was it? Or an observer? Haven’t found a source back for that one.

As usual, your insightful marathons leave me feeling mentally recharged in regard to this case… and, for better or worse, with a deeper sense of the seemingly never-ending abyss in which we craft our theories and scenarios. Every time I think of something in a new way, or B/commenters shine light on another possibility (which is usually the case), I “connect the dots” in my own mind and – for a brief, breathless moment think, “This could be IT!” Then, inevitably and usually within a day’s time, a detail I was unaware of or a flaw in logic is pointed out, and my shiny-new silver bullet instantly disappears. To wit, a brief line in your recent submission:

A significant slant of my current perspective had ruled that out. Allowing it to re-enter my corral of possibilities triggered the searing thought that it *is* difficult for me to imagine – and not because it’s implausible. The very idea that a beautiful, vibrant young woman out with her best girlfriends could vanish into the cold, misty night – an evening she and her companions had looked forward to for half the year – and at the mercy of chance and unexpected circumstance is difficult/frightening to absorb. But you reminded me that I shouldn’t let my personal fears diminish the three things I can offer as an individual who does not know the victim or anyone remotely involved or close to the case: unbiased perspective, unclouded analysis, and an open mind.

True. But, in that instance there *was* a body – that of his ex-wife, which was exhumed, re-examined, and subject to a change in the cause of death from accident to homicide – intensified the laser focus on Drew Peterson and bolstered the case for his charge of murder.

LOG ended their set before 9 pm. I’m not at all certain DS was inside the venue and have not reviewed any video. But. Some people posting here believe she was captured via video while watching them play, which may put her inside and leaves open the option that it was indeed MH whom the JPJ-entering witness saw crossing Massie with the 4 young men. It’d be a remarkable coincidence if the look-alike ladies were, at some point, with similar gaggles of young men, for sure… but still.
That said, even if the laughing blonde (walking away from the no-readmittance arena after 9 pm despite Metallica slated to start then and just running late) was DS and not MH, wouldn’t she and her crew have passed by/seen MH, and weren’t some of the people with DS mutual friends with SS (and potentially MH’s) Friends? Odd there was no interaction despite the two parties being in the same vicinity at the same time. (and yes, I know – it was a huge lot on a dark night. Just getting back to speculating.) I`m thinking now that maybe Morgan either bumped into somebody inside the venue enexpectedly or brought her predicament to his attention when she found herself outside. Either way it points to the same guy, maybe her friends knew his identity and her intentions. Maybe they didnt but assumed it……. That granny sighting sure could be vital. Blink i`ve noticed what you would say to be footage of Ms Harrington inside the venue during Lamb of God, do any of her friends seem to be anywhere near her?
I believe I spotted Amy, not sure about Sarah. I am convinced that is Morgan.

Fish, sounds like your computer has a virus. Not surprising. Contact your online service provider and they can help you get rid of it ASAP. Make sure you do. Then update your antivirus and firewall. Update your windows for any emergency updates also. Very important. After your computer is clean and everything is updated, change your passwords. Gangmembers (including clowns) are notorious for putting viruses on your computer when you visit their sights in order to steal your personal information (adding keyloggers, etc.) be careful. I didn’t realize how important it was to update EVERY DAY!!!

Please forgive me for doing this everyone- But in searching for Fishes vid I found these two videos- I came across a person that could be Morgan and Amy or Sarah- watch to the left of the guy on the stairway- when the light flashes on you we see a long haired blonde with black tights on standing close to another girl- I think this is Morgan in part one you can see them throughout the video and also the tall guy standing next to PMH
then in part two watch to the left of the stairway- you will see the long haired blonde PMH hug and kiss on the the cheek,the other girl several times- They looked like they were very happy to watch the show together- PMH even leans down toward other girl and watches the show on her friends shoulder-

I agree with both of your sentiments (well, all three ladies’ thoughts on the matter, really). But, I’ll dare to submit that if such a statement was made by any LE agency involved, I’d think it’d be in reply to the question of general public safety (i.e., a way to temper the concern that *all* young women milling about the UVA campus/Cville are potential targets for this predator).
NOT that such a suggestion (racy clothing) is any way, shape or form the answer to the community’s justifiable concerns. (I mean, what are they saying to women if implying *that* is why Morgan ended up brutalized and murdered? “Cover Up to Save Your Butt”?)
Seriously: who’s to know what a violent person with ill intentions deems to be “provocative” or “slutty”? In fact, with black tights under her mini-skirt and knee-high boots further covering her legs, MH’s outfit doesn’t seem notably racy at all.
She was targeted because she was *alone* and in a *vulnerable state* – and I guarantee LE that there are at least a dozen women in the Cville community who fit that description at some point *every* Saturday night.

This struck me as well, Phyl. But, in all likelihood, the Harringtons do not know/know for sure who killed their daughter – and if they do know (or have a *strong* hunch), I don’t think they were certain when that statement was made. I could be wrong (B?), but I’m trying not to read too deply into some of the assertions they make when addressing the press/public.
I think some of their statements are for clarity’s sake, and some are strategic… It’s hard to believe they’ve known for quite some time that a specific group of local stage-hands (or a lone worker) who had to be back at the arena for stage-breakdown at 11 p.m. were responsible for MH’s disppearance (thus they’re aware of approx when she was was killed/when her body was abandoned at AF). Or maybe it’s just hard to accept. Either way, personally, I’ve considered and subsequently abandoned that detail. (Definitely interesting, though…)
