I’m lovin’ Judge Perry right at the moment. He’s pushing Baez to settle the JAC funding issue asap and offered up all day Thursday (next week) at Jose’s convenience in order to get it moving and done. He’s also pushing the prosecution to list all witnesses – and make sure they show up at depositions or else face contempt of court. He wants no delays!!

    Woot Woot, right?

    LOVE IT.

The long black train is moving a faster rate now…..I LOVE IT! GO Judge Perry! I like him, he cuts right to the matter at hand. I look for a few more b&t&h slaps when the motions are being argued. I think Casey is thinking “OH SHIT!” bout right now, though.

  3. ginab says:

My favorite was when Chief Perry said to Baez on more than one occasion “let me ask you the question again”

    Baez is so inept.

  4. J H says:

Sequester the jury?? WTH? She needs to plead and get this over with already……………..

  5. Joan (Canada) says:

Thoroughly impressed with the new judge. Casey did not fiddle with her hair one time. I don’t think she moved once. Everyone seemed to be a little nervous. Baez still trying to whine a bit, but the judge was having none of it. He has them on a short leash. Surprised Mr. Mason did not have a comment. Did I hear correctly that the defense does not necessarily want the jury sequestered? Maybe I understood. Anyone…

  6. Di says:

I really like Judge Perry! No nonsense. Could this finally be Casey’s CTJ moment? I found this hearing to be much more interesting than previous ones. Particularly liked the judge’s commentary on the sequestering of a jury.

Smack down @ the OCC this morning. Just loved His Honor. Wondering if Casey has a little throwup in her mouth this morning. George looks pissy, Cindy is praying to her god. Eveything about today just
became real for that entire family, and it’s about darn time!

Media hounds, Baez and Mason appearing live on national tv right now…the irony is rich. I turned it off…couldn’t bear to hear it!

  11. RubyRose says:

I love how this Judge questioned all the motions that the defense filed and specifically asked the # of motions outstanding. He even addressed the issue of change of venue down to how he may rule (i.e. trial held in Orange County, jurors from other counties – “sequester” with approved DVD movies and games).

The courtroom was so professional in his honor’s presence. This case needed that.

Do you think KC is wondering why her attorney’s wanted to remove Strickland?

I bet he will rule on the DP motions Immediately after boths sides present cause.

  12. Thunderbox says:

    Lol. Lol.

    Thanks for that.

Im sure the Honorable Judge Strickland has a wonderful reputation, but after seeing Judge Perry take this group in hand, I definitely believe that Judge Perry is superior in every way. He is exactly what a judge should be. Strickland was far too lenient, as if he was trying to be a “friend” to both sides. One of the greatest things Baez ever thought of was to accuse Strickland and get him off the case. I never thought Id thank Baez for anything, but today no one on the defense side – lawyers, defendent and audience looked happy!

    Rest in Peace lil Caylee

  20. Child Advocate says:

Any appearance of ineptitude may be tactics by the defense to give Casey Anthony Grounds for Appeal with Ineffective Assistance by Counsel. Baez may be clever as a fox. Further, if the jury isn’t ordered to be sequestered, then the Judge is incompetent. We have to be very, very careful here to get a conviction and to get it to stick.

casey doesn’t give one rats AZZ about cindy, if she did she would have never taken out her angel…

I am sick all over again watching Cindy blowing kisses to the villian who killed her precious grand baby…

  22. MJ says:

DEE~ I’m so with you on the A/Conway thing. They’re not on trial, they’re not involved at this point, why do they need a 24/7 spokesperson?

And why does Baez continually show kc things from his phone? Why is he allowed to do that? Smacks of the same “smuggling letters” behavior. Is he showing her msgs from parents or Lee or funny jokes ??? That seems wrong to me, what atty needs to confer with his client about anything from a phone.

Does anyone know what this is about?

  24. Kleat says:

It appears that the Kronk issue and ex-wives, has not yet been completed, with out-of-state attorneys stonewalling– hasn’t happened yet. This wasn’t apparent at first mention, but later Ms. D-B talked about the prior bad acts into evidence issue, and related that to the out of state depositions that are a problem. Chief Judge Perry a match for Chief in the coast guard, ex-wife Crystal and her lawyers? (does the US Govt pay for her lawyer in this case since she’s an officer and there’s the reputation of the service to be considered?)

Ms. Holly is tight with the Anthony’s, sticks to them like glue, either beside or directly behind them in court. Holly did NOT give up her gum today. She gave a chew right in camera view, was trying to keep her mouth motion quiet, but it came out– does she think this helps her association with the A’s by chewing gum and defying Judge Perry?

Someone mentioned national tv and Cheney and Baez on air– well, with a possible change of venue for picking jurors, they can now focus on national media, knowing the state can’t respond and they can reach potential jurors outside the Orlando area.

  25. Leslee S. says:

Did the judge mess up any of Jose’s ‘vacation’ dates?

  26. Kleat says:

Holly’s defiance of Judge Perry’s order of no gum, food is caught as the judge discusses movies and games list, 9:52 min in WFTV video pt2.

If Orlando is so Casey focussed, then why was the courtroom so sparsely filled on such a highly anticipated hearing? The microphones in that courtroom, pick up so much more detail than in the smaller rooms. The judge is setting the tone for the future also, with the choice of that courtroom– it’s created to impress, and the judge took advantage of its grandeur.

  27. Kleat says:

Cindy gave a slight nod, as Judge Perry remarked about memory, and that the adversarial system relies on memory that is affected over time. That’s what Cindy has been waiting for, to add that to her excuses for George and her changing stories and sudden memory losses.

  28. NGBoston says:

Much different courtroom today as everyone is observing.

Casey Anthony–You are a sociopathical, lying, murdering snake and are on A Train to hell, so buckle up, as I imagine from this point on you will be travelling there rather quickly.

  29. Heidi says:

OMG! How many times does the judge have to repeat the question(s) to Jose?

  30. Kleat says:

The defense continues to pick it’s battles with Judge Strickland, this time dresses the judge down for his responses in his Order to recuse himself.

    http://media.myfoxorlando.com/photogalleries/043010anthonymotion/1/lg/Objection_to_Court_s_Order_on_Defendant_s_Motion_to_Disqualify_Trial_Judge__2__Page_03.htm

So, if Cheney and Baez were in the jail visiting Casey at the time the fax occurred to file the motion the clerk (which apparently jail visitation records show), then how could they be sure when the clerk visited the judge’s chambers and found him gone. Well, they just had to know what his court schedule is, and likely whether he would be in chambers at minutes before 5 pm on a Friday.

Thats just it Kleat, they DID NOT get what they wanted..
    B

They are picking little niggly nasty battles and do they have time and resources to do this? Cheney must have it in for the judge, he got what he wanted yet he continues in this lengthy objection filed with the court.

I hope this is the right link. It’s Cheney Mason’s response to Judge Strickland’s motion. Cheney Mason is disgusting in my opinion. Wonder if Judge Stan will respond to this.

  33. Joan (Canada) says:

smyer, no, they did not show Casey turning around as myself, as George had no reaction, I believe she did not acknowledge them at all.
I listened to Cindy’s interview after the hearing. I couldn’t believe it when she said much more respectful and always makes it seems that it is everyone else who is in the wrong. How respectful was she at the depo for Zenaida.

  34. Joan (Canada) says:

Also, anyone notice when the judge asked the clerk to ask Ms. Lyon how long she needed in the penalty phase of the trial, she asked “do you mean at the trial”, Mason hung his head and Baez had the shake of the head. It’s worth reviewing.

I think the Dream Team is just now getting the first of their “come to Jesus meetings” with Judge Perry. I know they are thinking oops big mistake there getting rid of Strickland. I think Perry will be great AND he is from Texas. I noticed that Muffin just stared into space most of the time and did not groom her hair for “ticks” or blow her nose in a snot rag onc–no fake tears either or comments under her breath. Haha–the tide has turned. I noticed Cindy saying “I love you”–boo hoo. But I think when Casey leaves she tries to turn the opposite direction from her parents so she doesnt have to acknowledge them. Funny too that Lyons or EXCUSE me Lyon must have been asleep on the phone she kept saying like Whaaa? and then the judge had to repeat. She is probably sooooo over with this case and is glad to be elsewhere. Maybe she was in Woolworths shopping!!????

    Blink–

Simple question… IN YOUR OPINION, do you believe Casey will be found guilty?

If this case does not plead out, and I feel strongly it will, yes, I believe Casey will be convicted of murdering her daughter.

The new motion filed today by Baez et.al against Jude stickland leaves me speechless.

This defense team has more guts than a slaughter house.

  43. Shelly says:

Absolutely loved the tone JudgeP set in HIS courtroom! If anyone doubts he’s now the conductor of the train headed towards a trial for justice for the death of our beloved little Caylee…..listen to JudgeP speaking as a train outside the courtroom sounds it’s whistle! An omen?

At 3 min 30 seconds in turn up sound:

    http://www.wftv.com/video/23318107/index.html

There is no doubt JudgeP has set this case at a high priority to move along and we will see more of him keeping the train moving directly ahead.

  44. Shelly says:

smyers I saw Cindy say I love you and blow a kiss, but the camera wasn’t on Casey to see if she looked at her parents. Somehow I have a hard time thinking she is not somehow communicating with her parents. Not looking at them could be just an act….maybe to keep tears from coming….or whatever. But, I think she and George somehow are in communication with Casey…..even if it’s through letters written and mailed directly. I don’t buy that Casey has cut them off completely. JMO

  45. Charlotte says:

Who was the woman sitting with Cindy in court today? Anyone know?

  46. chitownlady says:

I also think Casey has finally cme to ralize OMG…this trial is for real! This Judge is NO pushover….There isn’t gonna be any nonsense. Seems Baez is going to have to actaully get some stuff done. Might also have to be on his best behavior watch his P’s and Q’s best dot those i’s as will…..I love this JUDGE! i hope when Baez goes on his vacation….he brushes up on his law books. But, I will admit i would love to see the new judge rip Baez a new one!
Also, didn’t you just love how nicey nice all lawyers were to each other….I cannot imagine being on the jury and having to be sequestered for 2-3 months. OJ’s jury was…..

  47. ChicagoJudy says:

Helloooo, knock knock… is this thing on???

  48. Muse says:

    #5 Joan in Canada
You heard correctly. Baez stated that there was a difference in opinion within the defense members about objecting to jury sequester. His comment was there is concern about the demographic of one those willing to be sequestered. My hunch is that it’s Lyon’s issue.

I think it speaks volumes about the lack of alignment within the defense team. Very disconcerting that after nearly 2 years, they don’t have a strategy solidly in place.

Can’t wait for the Funny Money hearing next week. Love that Judge Perry. :)
