When I see that pic of Casey in her green scrubs blouse with her pursed lips and such, I just wanna smack that smugness off her face.

Thanks for hearing me out. xo

  2. Mom3.0 says:

Tomorrow is the hearing on whether or not Judge Perry will seal the defense’s spending logs, correct or Am I misunderstanding?

I was just thinking, now that Casey has been declared indigent- and the tax payers are fitting the bill- don’t they have the right to know where their tax dollars are being spent- especially since Judge Perry stated the defense need not attach names to the experts being paid ect…

  3. ClassyGal says:

I guess that Judge Perry denied the defense motion to keep all records under seal. I watched most of the hearing but then the news station cut to another story on a murder/suicide.

    Ok, WTH did I miss?

Blink, welcome back! If you want a chuckle, see Baez try to institute his own NEW RULES for the PRESSER!! Check the show at wftv under ‘Baez talks to wftv’. Does he or doesn’t he! He’s playing his best Judge Perry impersonation– and fails miserably.

  7. Sister says:

    Kleat, that’ funny.
Oh yes Miss Blink, you missed a wonderful day in court.
Justice is on the way for our precious Caylee.

  8. ClassyGal says:

Judge Perry said that Baez did not give a good enough reason to warrent him sealing the records on what money was being spent on the defense.

  9. Blink says:

    Kleat-

I only got to watch the Kathi B sideshow.

I needed that laugh like you can’t believe.

My fave was Baez pretending to talk on his phone and not answer Belich, when he turns around and sees Mason answering all the other reporters and waits for him.

    Hilarious.

  10. Sister says:

Yes, and that little private exchange between mason and bozo — I’m sure mason will adhere to all bozo’s conditions when talking to the press.

  11. Sister says:

    My goodness,
34 pages including exhibits on motion filed today about the “disqualified” judge and his rulings. yipes! me things Judge Perry will not take this lightly.

    Thanks for that.

    I hope you recover soon.

    WSH-

If that’s how you feel, I sincerely respect that. If you just need a pep talk, or a break, that’s ok too.

But let me know, I value our collegialness, if in fact, that is a word.

I have said for some time I fear this case will Kronk itself.

Can’t read and do everything! Keep in touch, will do the same.

  14. Kleat says:

Blink, that sideshow was… oh, I don’t have a word for it… ‘unbelievable’ should fit, but it’s Baez, what a doubl-O baffOOn!! Who is he trying to impress with his new Judge Perry approach?!? He’s alienating people, why not just be professional, answer reporters, period, don’t play favorites, just answer the questions, afterall, it is an opportunity to show yourself and client in a good (well, better) light, and the jury is watching!!

Nothing like a 5’4″ man throwing a fit on the sidewalk, I always say. WOW.

    Hey Blink,
I usually skip the interviews after the hearings because I absolutely cannot stand to hear Baez’s bs. It’s all I can take to watch the hearings. He’s such a weasel. But I watched that one because of what you posted (above) and thanks for mentioning it. I laughed so hard I cried. That Belich is a bulldog! I wish there were some investigative reporters in my town like her.

at the end of the hearing the defense argued that Casey doesn’t want to come to hearings, because it ads fuel to the fire when people report on what she wears and how she acts….really Cheney…When is Casey going to realize she is not the princess she thinks she is,

Blink you still holding onto that “Miss Casey is going to plea”????

After that argument I truly wonder…seems to me like her needs and the desire to have them fulfilled is priority #1 her sense of importance is still holding strong…IMHO she aint pleaing…not anytime soon…

  20. Charlotte says:

I’m still wondering if George and Cindy were at the hearing? Does anyone know?

  21. Ragdoll says:

I doubt Judge Perry will take kindly to Baez’s impersonation. This is a clear example of a toddler fighting for what he once had….no boundaries.

Baez makes me think of this Jack Handy quote:

I hope, when they die, cartoon characters have to answer for their sins.

  22. Ragdoll says:

The raw video provided by wftv.com shows Casey primping and fluffing and fussing over herself. I wonder how long it took her to decide how she’d wear her hair. I mean, she must please her male following.

LOL….I had to stop the vid on Baez myself. I almost punched my monitor. Since when is he entitled to call any shots? He’s certainly not helping his client with his middle school ‘how to get yourself detention’ skills.

If immaturity is his swag, he may want to indulge himself with romper room re-runs.

  24. Sister says:

WSH, none of my business, but just wanted you to know I enjoy reading your perspective of things. Look forward to reading you again. Enjoy the sun, it does wonders for the soul.

  25. Kleat says:

Blink, the boo-boo Baez made, was tying Cheney’s hands, as Cheney said ‘the deal is, Baez talks to the press’ (except when I’m in court).

HOWEVER, Baez completely missed a huge opportunity, to instead of drawing negative attention on himself and non-issues, he should have answered in a way benefitical to his client and her case, minimized that, then mentioned that they have just refiled a motion to have 4 of the ‘disqualified judge’s decisions’ overturned. THAT is major, Mr. Mason did talk about it to one reporter, alluded to it when Kathi got finally drawn away from her Baez go-nowhere attention back to Cheney.

Those motions and their content, first failures in court, have been reargued in this motion by Cheney (can tell Baez didn’t write it). That would have been excellent press for the defense, but Baez wanted to be the spokesperson and in control. He seems afraid of Mason and his abilities in the public view– he needs him, but keeping him in tow publicly.

That, was a huge mistake of a missed media opportunity yesterday, huge. They argue that the police coerced Mr. Jordan to change his story– we’ll charge you– change what you told us before, type thing. That’s good press to get out to a potential jury and Baez was picking schoolyard fights with Kathi and cutting off his own foot at the same time.

Anyone notice that when those kids came into camera, waved and said hi mom, that Baez turned, noticed Mason talking to the media, and he said to the reporters beside him (Kathi included), “Hold on!”.

Now why would he say ‘hold on’ when he was telling them not to follow him?? Mixed messages. Mr. Mason Cheney is being relegated to a first grader behind the big boy Baez. He must cringe. Baez has no business in this case, IMHO. (and why does the ABC affiliate talk about 340 thousand to Casey’s coffers, not 205 or 275? What does she know about this that Baez doesn’t want her to tell?)

  26. dee says:

The A’s were not in court but I believe Brad was there….

  27. Kleat says:

Sister, agree, WSH has been a good companion in this journey, she’ll be back to say hello I hope, it’s completely understandable.

  28. Kleat says:

Blink, here’s the latest court filings, we knew about the first one from Mason yesterday, but the state has added their own.

    05/06/2010 Motion
Defendant’s Motion for Reconsideration of Certain Prior Rulings by Disqualified Judge

    05/06/2010 Motion to Intervene
for the Limited Purpose of Opposing Defendants Motion to Seal all Justice Administration Commission Documents

    05/06/2010 Memorandum
in Support of Request for Reciprocal Compliance

    05/06/2010 Response
to Motion for Statement of Particulars Providing Notice of Aggravating Circumstances and Conditional Request for Reciprocal Compliance

Motion to intervene plus memo to support it, and the Response, are those of the state (I assume).

I just don’t get the reciprocal agreement, the defense has ‘ONE’ (Baez statement in court yesterday) expert witness listed and they have not yet given anything to the state about the August ‘proof’. Seems Ms. DB is making use of those court transcripts from August 2009 now.

  29. Kleat says:

Ragdoll, the flatly pressed f’ruffles make a point don’t they– at least the color isn’t seafoam or pink.

  30. Sister says:

Kleat, I was (but shouldn’t have been) dumbfounded by the Motions filed yesterday in their tone as well as substance. You are so right, what an opportunity to change the focus from the poor impersonations of His Honor to something of importance. I mean, what an opportunity to say to KB “you don’t know about the Motions filed today” — nope he again missed the boat.
I am by no means a legal eagle, but many of the motions seemed to be based on Judge Strickland being “disqualified” and “misapprehended” or both. Judge Perry used yesterday the case law bozo (sorry Blink) cited to come right back at him. He better beware of citing a case with a sentence that suits him, without knowing (or caring possibly) the outcome and/or the issues of that particular case. I have noticed more than once the wrong cases cited to back up their arguments and I don’t think His Honor will continue to teach case law to bozo, et al.
Judge Strickland, IMO, was bending over backwards (and possibly a little too far) to give the defense no reasons for an appeal and/or a mistrial. I feel assured Judge Perry knows the law better than just about anyone in that courtroom and they better be prepared. It is my opinion he will not take kindly to the overt stabs at his fellow Judge.

perhaps $340,00 equals= $200,000 ABC + $70,000 Macaluso (sp?) + $70,000 Lyon. All those numbers were mentioned in one way or another as representing payments toward KC and/or KC defense.

  35. momofamarine says:

I don’t understand why the Judge (whomever it may be) doesn’t issue a gag order on this case. Shut the defense down and stop the madness.

  36. Kleat says:

momofamarine, it’s notable perhaps that the defense team of two yesterday, said they only filed their motion in court, when Belich asked if any other media already had it. Maybe Baez’s ‘new’ face of distain for answering questions, was tossed at him in a suggestion from this Judge who says to stop playing the media as he’s been doing from the beginning– get down to business instead of trying to sway public opinion and hype the case unnecessarily. I’m guessing, but the tone of the pressers have been different in the past week or so, even the national tv spot wasn’t about blame game and hype, it was more ‘professional’.

I’ll bet Judge Perry will keep this team in line inside and outside the courtroom, who can’t agree that Judge Strickland’s observations of Baez’s use of media was out of line and out of balance as we now see, with the work on the case, (ie no depositions– playing until the money ran out to do the indigency thing).

  37. Kleat says:

Thanks, Angela NW, I forgot about a 70 grand from Lyon–

  38. Kleat says:

Update: Judge Perry sets trial date and discovery and witness deadlines in an amended motion, with hearing deadlines (dates) listed in an order filed today. The task is set in stone.

  39. Kleat says:

Casey doesn’t have to attend the ‘status conferences’ because no hearings will be heard during those meetings.

Judge Perry said every 45 days, in court, but he’s cranked that up to one per month starting this June and going through April 2010.

What a difference experience makes, plus the time as Chief Judge without a full case load.

  43. Ragdoll says:

Apparently, Casey’s dream team may be considered more of an illusion.

Dr. Henry Lee was the forensic investigator for the Lana Clarkson murder. Phil Spector was found guilty of 2nd degree murder. It’s been revealed that Dr. Lee was seen taking a piece of evidence, placing it in a vile and hid it. I wonder what impact his investigation will have for the defense?

If this is true, my question is…..WHY?????

I personally believe this shoots his credibility to H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS. I just don’t get WHY and what was in it for him. I mean, it’s Phil Spector! Yes, his musical contributions were amazing and such, but C’MON! If you’re going to jeopardize your career for someone, Phil Spector? REALLY?
