Virginia Woman Vanishes From Phish Concert: Could Laura Pepe Case Be Connected to Morgan Harrington?

Portsmouth, VA– 26 year old Laura Pepe was separated from friends at a Phish concert Tuesday evening. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and her physical resemblance to Morgan Harrington have police wondering if the cases could be connected.
(WAVY) - A 26-year-old who attended Tuesday’s Phish concert at the nTelos Pavilion in Portsmouth has been reported missing. The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office contacted Portsmouth Police to report that the woman, identified as Laura J. Pepe, was reported missing Tuesday. Police say while at the concert, the woman got separated from her friends. Pepe (seen left) has been described as a white female, 5’10″ tall, 145 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white halter top with a bathing suit underneath, khaki shorts, flip flops and small silver earrings. If anyone has information that could help police find Pepe, call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP, or, you can text your information to police at CRIMES (274637).

OMG!!! What are the chances of this happening again? Any security working at this place that was working over at the Metallica concert that we know of yet? Are there any stats of women missing from concerts in VA?

O, Blink, I am so very very upset. Would someone do this to make us believe there is a serial killer out there? or is there really a serial killer out there? I feel very afraid for our young women out there. I can’t think right now. I feel lost.
OK PHISH MANAGEMENT: Time to get involved and help. It serves you as well, you know: Show the Charlottesville naysayers that you are good guys/women and really do care about the larger community over your wallets. This was not Metallica, this was your own. Phish.
Seeing that photographer’s name splashed on her photo, I am evermore curious on the amateur modeling front. Was Kristan Fox into that, as well? Anyone know?
Dr. and Mrs. Harrington: With the greatest respect, I have to ask again whether Morgan ever considered modeling to earn extra money. If you are unaware, might her brother and/or friends know? Please consider.

When I read the news article and then saw the picture, my first thought was could this be connected to Morgan’s case.

I sure hope LE is on top of this. That they have gathered whatever friends were with Ms. Pepe at concert and grilled the devil out of them, taken their cell phones, their cameras – anthing that could be a tool in helping to find this young lady. Also, what/who would these two Virginia concerts have in common. Vendors, security, groupies? I would be all eyes now as there has to be some commonality.

This woman is much older than Morgan – it wouldnt be as easy to take her in my opinion unless it was someone who appeared very legitimate
as far as appearance, like a law enforcement officer, or security
guard or maybe someone who had the look of authority. Just my opinion
but it seems odd that she would go off with a stranger, at 26 she
would be a little more leary, I would hope.

I was at that show. There were thousands of people in the area. There was EXTRA police on the scene for the Phish show. I think she would have to wander way out of her was to reach any shady parts of town.
There were THOUSANDS of people there. It would have been hard to find a place in public to be alone.

This could be a copycat taking advantage of all the publicity about Morgan.
Then again, LE needs to determine if a contract outfit provided sound and lighting services for the concert. If so, is it the same one that provided services at the Metallica concert at JPJA. Also the security outfit may be a contract as well.
Once again some beautiful young woman became separated from her party at the concert and some preadator who attended by contract or ticket purchase has acquired another victum.
The FBI needs to get on this one right away.

I feel like we are looking at Morgan’s photos on my space page. Can anyone make out the photography emblem? She looks younger there, but you never know. Seems a little hinky on the concert type also, its not like it was Elton John. Could be the same kind of musc lover as Metallica. What are we missing!

What a tragedy to see another young woman has disappeared in the midst of thousands. Someone needs to connect the dots, and wonder if attending these concerts might be putting a life in danger. The coincidences of this happening to two young women at concerts within a short timeframe is frightening.
God be with her and her family. Bring this woman home safely, please.
This makes me think of Justin Gaines and Kyle Fleischman who disappeared outside night clubs within two weeks of each other.
Two things stand out to me right away.
1. She has a large picture of Bob Marley on her MySpace
and list Sublime as a friend. So here you have an interest in Reggae
and Reggae-related music. Sublime mixing with a more metal crowd,
etc.
2. She is from Warrenton which is just up Rt29 from C-Ville.
Then you have the fact that she gets “separated from her friends”
Looks younger than her age
Looks like Morgan
And is a few hours away from home
The Security and Arena Staff, on duty for the show, MUST BE LOOKED AT!
Wasn’t Cantelope from the Virginia Beach area? His mother lives in C-Ville while he lives in Richmond, now. Richmond is very close to Portsmouth…about the same distance as C-ville. Only ifference, one is East on I-64, while the other is west. He also wore a knotted rastaman-type hat in one of his last pictures.
I’m new here and this is my first time posting. After reading this I can’t help but see some similarities in what happened to Morgan. I, too, am wondering if there is any concert staff who are in common. Maybe a concession stand worker, security guard or such. Has anyone checked to see if the two concert venues share any staff or have the same companies under contract?

Blink: Do you know any more details? Was the separation from her friends similar to Morgan’s situation. Did she leave them to go to the restroom, visit a vendor, go to smoke and then they never heard from her again? Again, did her cell phone go dead?
Phish is a band that would be right up Morgan’s alley. A good time, good vibes, jam band. This disappearance of this lovely young woman may be purely coincidental, but I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Prayers for Laura and her family. Please lead someone to her immediately to bring her to safety. This is sickening.

She is a 5 foot 10 blonde- check out the other thread with #1. Typing this on phone while riding to HTFD, so bear with typing and grammatical errors. So, the deets I got was she went to the bathroom and never returned. Her friends whole holding onto her phone $ and stuff. That’s all I got. My buddy said she likes Phish, but isn’t the “type” to go on tour. She from her photo is quite pretty and at 5’10″ she should def stand out on lot if we all keep our heads up. That’s all I got for now. I just read that she is the second female missing from tour. Yikes…

I also note how close Portsmith is to Virginia Beach. I think about Brittanee Drexel another young striking Blond Blue Eyed missing girl.
I wonder if tie dyed t-shirt seller was at the phish concert?
The model angle mentioned above is one to think about.
Is LE thinking copycat or serial killer or just some random coincidence?
If this goes South and I fear it already has, for starters, how about putting the word out to land owners to start checking their property. Within ten miles of the city there’s equally large tracts of private land as well as commonwealth managed areas. It’ll take scores of volunteers and resources to search the vast forest areas, if and that’s a big IF it is even done…

There are some really awful post at this link. But, there is mention by some of the PHANS of another girl missing from “Blossom” (sounds like another phish gig along the tour.) And, there is mention by one poster (HowieHood)of “knowing who did this” He makes a direct post to someone called Pagonboy. He writes “Please return Laura Pepe at once and no will will judge you any further than we already have.”
Don’t know if this is serious or not…same with reference to “12 Tribes” and how it sounds like them

Those wandering bout the Phish music…definately something Morgan would have gone to. Very popular festival players. They have a following much like Grateful Dead and very respected too. Not my cup of tea but very nice, real people.
