The link to the photos of the area where Morgan’s remains were found are excellent. I spent many years working with aerial photos of all types of terrain. In the very first photo it is evident that the preferred route to the location would be Red Hill Road.
LE may have checked the gates, but if they haven’t someone needs to determine how the fence is attached to the gate posts. In addition, are there multiple locks on this gate?
Often fencing is just wired to the gate posts with a smooth wire twisted for closure. This is easy to remove and replace so a locked gate is no problem for a bad guy with a pair of fence pliers. If the wire is attached with bolt straps, it poses a bigger problem, but it is not impossible.
If the traffic is low on this road and the owner does not check the gate on a regular basis, it would be easy for someone to prepare the gate area for access in advance of moving the body. One the fencing was loose it could be moved to one side and access wide enough for a vehicle could be obtained.
If the fencing along the property line to AF were barbed wire it would be easy to slide a body under the bottom strand and then spread two of the strands so that a person could step through and move the body to the burial site.
Morgan,from photos,appeared to be a tall slender person that may have weighed 125 lbs. This would not be difficult for a strong male to handle. Therefore, the perp could have done this by himself.
There are tractor and other vehicle tracks visible in the photos all aroung the area. One thing about aerial photos is that they often reveal where old trails and structures existed that cannot be easily determined from ground level.
Could there still be vehicle tracts at the gate area of Red Hill Road? At this late date it is not likley unless the perp moved the body during the last of the bad weather in the area and the soil was soft enough to be marked by the tires.
I have always believed that Morgan was taken and held at some spot for a a period of several days prior to her death. Could the farm house that burned be the location?
Just some thoughts that may create some additional information leading to the perp.

I often sit here and believe that she was lured out by Evil, himself. Maybe she was.
I sit here and believe she was too intoxicated to know which door was which.
I sit here and believe she hit her head so hard that she was experiencing what I did when I fell from that ladder.
Pain, confusion, anger, oh, did I mention pain?
Man, talk about a chain of events that could have gone very differently. Yes, people refuse help all the time. Doesn’t mean we listen…That is why it’s called help.
I know that LE does not want to say much but at this point something else needs to be generated. Their leads are yet again, dwindling. Which makes me nervous for 2014. As in the year. No doubt, there will be many from now until then that do not report, can’t report. Will we wait for the next one 5 years from October 17, 2009?

If we know of her last text and her last incoming phone call,

Did anyone ever come forward to say they helped her out?

This is a general question and not to be linked to any specific individual.
If a member of military commits a crime off-base, but is discovered by the military while on base, who has jurisdiction? Does the military always and automatically notify the civilian LE or is it a matter that is handled within the confines of the military. If the latter is true, then, do they and/or can they maintain secrecy regarding their own?
Another general question.
Does the civilian LE have access to DNA on file with the military in crime cases?

I dont have any legal facts to quote you. But many yrs ago here where I live, an active duty guy was accused of abducting/raping and dumping a girl he met at a bar. Her body was found along a major roadway shortly after she was missing. Though it occurred off of the military base, and the victim was civilian, the military took hold of the active duty perp and were allowed to prosecute as they saw fit. Court marshalled, whatever. But I dont think the public could touch him.
Now, in the case of the retired, no such dice, but they may risk losing benefits the military would normally owe them.
If we just go with that the t-shirt was placed to distract LE from AF.
Then?
Could we go with the Sutherland Road fire was also started as a distraction.

fish, i’m with you. except i don’t think sutherland was a distraction. i think sutherland was the primary. there is a 218 am fire on the books in north garden on 10/18/2009. i think this is the distraction. locals would now that AF/red hill road area was a favorite haunt of ACPD and their shenanigans there. thus, the need for the distraction call to make sure the coast was clear to access AF.
now where does sketch fit in? employer seems a likely connection, as in one of the perps and sketch met at work. or in the system somewhere along the way. still another place sketch might fit in, is through some connection to LE in the area.
i’m not sure i’ve seen this thrown out here, but what if sketch acted alone and is either in ACPD/FD/R and close to the investigation. not only has that proximity to LE vibe been thoroughly noted here, but so many times we have questioned LE moves in this case. their odd behavior could be explained by an internal investigation into just that.
as for the shirt, i’ve always felt someone felt the heat, and needed to get rid of a trophy. it was “placed” a few short weeks after the crime. its primary purpose by definition of being planted (if we believe it was planted) would be to direct attention away from AF.
i really hope LE is getting closer. the sketch has been out for weeks now and they should have been able to vet all the leads generated by now i would think. seems to me the sketch should have resulted in that one tip that tied everything together. we have a face that belongs to someone involved.

This is going waaaay back and it’s probably something I shouldn’t share, but… I will anyway
When I was in high school, pot and LSD were the common party drugs. I never tried LSD (too chicken) but I did smoke pot…. occasionally… well, o.k., somewhere between occasionally and frequently…but closer to occasionally than frequently…really.
Anyway, my friends and I bought some pot from the local “dealer” before a party one night and smoked it at the party. The next Monday, I was called into the office at school. Apparently someone had provided information re; “the dealer” and “the party” to the school and my name was thrown into the mess along with some of my friends’ names.
The school and the police wanted the name of the dealer and I was told I could be expelled if I didn’t provide it (like I was the only “customer” of this guy, ugh). I was also told I had the choice of letting my parents know about “the pot” or talking to the police about it. Of course, I denied everything.
So there I was, in high school, a good student…possibly facing expulsion. If I came clean and provided information though, would this “dealer” hunt me down and kill me?! And, if I told the police would they throw me in jail?! After all, I was given the option of telling police or my parents, and my parents ~ well, not an option ~ they would throw me in jail AND kill me. I was carrying around this enormous weight that felt heavier and heavier with every passing hour.
After dinner that night, I couldn’t stand it anymore (I must admit, my tolerance level for that type of thing is quite low). My father and I were cleaning up after dinner and I decided I was just going to go for it and tell him, suffer the consequences and remove this horrible weight from my shoulders. So, I casually mentioned that “there was this party, see, and, uh….this pot…”.
The reaction from my father ~ nothing like I expected at all ~ I didn’t even get grounded. Thinking back, I bet the school had already told him and he was just waiting to see if I would “do the right thing”. I provided the name of the “dealer” at school the next day and, yes, I’m still alive to talk, and type, about it today.
I learned from that experience that it is possible to come clean, even if one didn’t come clean the first time around and I also learned what a great feeling it is to remove an enormous weight from your shoulders.
If someone knows something about what happened to Morgan and goes to police (or has gone to police), I believe police will (or have) embraced them regardless of whether they told the truth the first time around or not.
I can’t imagine how it must feel to carry around the enormous weight of knowing what happened to Morgan and not telling police. And, there is a $150,000.00 reward involved as well ~ that is life changing money.
Talking to police and receiving a $150,000.00 reward beats the h#ll out of what will happen when police arrive with the cuffs out and ready to place on the wrists of someone who knows something and didn’t tell, particularly if that person is named by someone else as being responsbile when they weren’t.

I’m thinking two, possibly three perps with Sketch not being directly involved.
1st perp ~ the cunning bully
2nd perp ~ the unwilling one who thinks the bully has him set up to take the fall (photo’s possibly?)
possible 3rd perp ~ the questionable third one for me ~ EMH?
Sketch ~ possibly unknowingly linked to the t-shirt and known to 1st perp via work?
Someone mentioned a farm house fire ~ is the farm house referred to the Sutherland house or is the farm house different than Sutherland? What about another neighboring vacant house as primary? It’s my understanding there were a few vacant homes near AF.
With respect to the gate, one of the gates is new ~ not sure if the old gate was replaced before or after Morgan’s remains were found. I think that information is on FM if anyone is looking for it though. There is a also a photo of the new gate on FM.
P.S. re; my post above and the “what if” scenerio;
Even if someone was told by LE during their initial interview that they would be charged with something if they didn’t tell the truth, there are ways around that if someone didn’t tell the truth initially but wants to come forward now.
The terms of providing information could include agreement by LE that there will be no charges for not being truthful the first time around.
LE deals with that sort of thing all the time. Many people are afraid to tell the truth about crimes initially for fear of retaliation by the perp.
I think if anyone comes forward to police with information about Morgan’s case, the last thing LE is going to be worried about is whether that person told the truth the first time around. LE just wants Morgan’s killer arrested.

With respect to the MIB ~ I’m feeling it, but not in the scenerio that has been described.
So, how about connections between members of NG Volunteer Fire Company, who were the first responders to the Sutherland Fire, and security firms?
I still wonder if some of those FFs did not realize what they knew … until the Sketch release. Just a reminder that one of those responders made a quick, overnight, back-and-forth trip to NJ with his cousins (one of whom houses a NG RSO) just after fighting that fire. Could be unrelated, but if it’s innocent, I’d think a noble and honorable person would be more than happy to tell LE so.
VSP, have you personally taken the sketch to the North Garden Volunteer Fire Company? I consider it an imperative.
VSP, have you ensured that sketch is posted in all fire and rescue departments, from Fairfax to Culpeper to Greene to Albemarle/Charlottesville? I am sure it goes without saying that all LE has seen it?

If sketch lived in Jersey it is feasible that he could have been visiting there on 10/17. Is it possible that the quick trip to Jersey was not in fact to dump something, but rather to pick him up to help clean up a mess?

The order of residency is listed per an online people/background search; however, it is not known if this is totally accurate.

If the Red Hill road area was a “hang-out” spot for some of the LE and first responders, could one of them have a key that opened the lock on the gate to the road? That would make access very simple and quick.
To be truthful, I completely forgot about the local LE and some others possibly not passing a smell test for good behavior.
I hope that the VSP have called in fire experts to carefully go over the several fire sites that may have some revelance to this case.
They do not, and have not, and I think it is a mistake.

I know this is a pretty morbid question, so I will apologize ahead of time, but I do not recall seeing this anywhere, not that it should be public but didn’t know if any of you excellent sluths knew, so here it is:
Was it ever released as to what position Morgan’s body was found in? For example, flat on her back, flat on her tummy, in a fetal position, on her side, etc. Do we know?
I’m just curious, as it is usually telling. You know, maybe she was drugged and beaten, stabbed, etc. began running away on her own and sort of succumbed to her injuries there and that’s where she passed on or was she “displayed” meaning someone proud of their work laid her out there?
The last post I see is acho @3:26 pm (7/15) so I know at some point this is going to be like the 50th post saying: wow, the findmorgan forum is “taking a break”….
Sadly, in my local news, a 14 year old girl found wrapped in plastic in a dumpster, stabbed 12 times. I believe a camera caught the car at the dumpster. Main suspect? A RSO. News article says evidence (though doesn’t say what kind of evidence) has been removed from his home and car.
OT: What is going on with the 23 year old mother missing from Camden, NJ? The article I read said the family is claiming that the police aren’t even looking for her? That couldn’t possibly be right.
The guy in the sketch is obviously black, i dont know if you guys notice but Metallica mainly have a white audience, it`s not a race thing but more of a music genre thing. If sketch was in the vicinity of JPJ here was there for something other than the music…
Not once has LE even mentioned any BIB so for me they dont exist or they have been identified and are insignificant.
The sad thing is, no matter what punishment this animal gets, it won`t undo the damage and loss he has brought, but he must be caught and punished.
My recollection of some of Gil’s statements were regarding Morgan’s “lovely bones”. I got the impression that her bones were scattered. The last I read was that the coroner was unable to determine the cause of death – that was back in January and there may have been some updates since that I have missed.

I agree completely: the BIB do not exist. I believe the guys the bookkeeper saw Morgan crossing the street with were the basketball players; there were a couple of white guys on the 09-10 roster, (one is actually from the Fairfax area who’s dad is an alum and on some board or something at UVa but I digress) with absolutely no mention of a vehicle to be on the lookout for, it’s just plain old deduction that the only people Morgan was interacting with in the RV lot were the basketball players. To my knowledge it has never been publicly stated exactly which BB players other than JT were there, although I have heard “several”.
Any mention of the BB players draws the wrath of Khan from many of the locals, though, so beware.
The live victim knows Black, White, Hispanic or Asian.. I could care less about little people and there fears of Prejudice.Get over it.
The perp needs to be narrowed down and by race helps narrow it.
I have seen LE and F.B.I. have real photos of perps and the still produce sketches for the public.. It is an insane practice.

apparently the FM forums are closed for good. They supposedly were having problem with a pernicious troll who had been banned there and here and was also being disruptive on the hook site. So bizarre that someone would act that way on a family site dedicated to help find justice for a murdered young woman.

I agree about the BB players and the wrath of the locals. A long time ago I asked how they could let an intoxicated woman wander off into the night by herself and was blasted by a poster that “It’s not like she was in the Bronx.” Well, last time I checked you don’t have to be in the Bronx to get snatched. I was just saying. They were some of the (if not THE) last sighted people with Morgan according to witnesses.I think it’s odd that they have said nothing publicly. However I am not convinced that “sketch guy” was on the lot or even near the concert.I am not convinced that there wasn’t another crime scene before Anchorage Farm. If it was a house or apartment,I would think someone would have seen her enter. If a vehicle, then it is possible she was never seen again after leaving the lot (or bridge, whichever it proves to be). I would imagine that LE looked at all the tenants names who lived in the building where Morgan’s shirt was found. I’m still holding out for the Harringtons.

That is so sad. For the Harringtons and Morgan as well as all the posters who have spent countless hours researching, trying to help and offering their support.
I hope the posters at FM at least received warning that the board would be closing as well as a meaningful thank you for their efforts.
