Kyron Horman Missing and Endangered: Kaine Horman Accuses Terri of Contempt With Michael Cook

BREAKING NEWS

Portland, OR– late today, through his attorney, Kaine Horman filed contempt of court charges against Terri Horman for showing a previously sealed restraining order to childhood friend of Kaine’s, Michael Cook.

MichaelCook

In his motion, he also accused Terri of “sexting” messages to Cook from her cell phone. Cook and Horman exchanged racy and graphic sexual messages back and forth since June 30th.

Michael Cook is best known for organizing the first vigil for Kyron Horman on June 7th and speaking briefly to reporters as he ran errands and stocked food and beverages for those in the home when Kyron first went missing.

    Blink,

Do you think the landscaper took Kyron without any invlovement from Terri? Also, do you think MCSO is holding a “material witness” related to this case?

Blink: Maybe Houze is experienced enough to shrug off his annoyance at TH. But if I were him I’d be weighing the rewards for staying on the case, given that he’s got TH’s ongoing behavior to do damage control on. Her defense might go better if she were locked up about now.

And yes! When WILL they get back to the landscaper. And as I asked earlier: is he still out walking around?

    ********************************************

    PackLeader5:

Remember, though, the Michael Cook thing is important because already, even though in Kaine’s civil matter against Terri, they’re laying the groundwork for a “pattern of behavior”: that Terri has, with both the landscaper (she admitted that relationship to LE) and now with Michael, a pattern of establishing a sexual relationship with a man in order to get him to do XYZ for her. Patterns of behavior are helpful testimony in court.

LE organizations I know don’t give a lot of time, thought, or strategy to public relations. They let their public info. officers do the best they can with that while they’re trying to solve crimes. Don’t think they’re doing much as a decoy for “us.”

The more I read about Terri Horman, the more I believe she is the “key” to this case. I don’t think this woman ever bonded with Kyron or has the capacity to bond with anyone. She had plenty of time before June 4th to set up and execute her plan (timeline of events)..got her ducks in a row (accomplice) found a predetermined place to put Kyron and I don’t believe he’s in the water. Think about what a landscaper does for a living…digs and plants.

  7. equuslady says:

If this scenario is used ~ IN a scorned lover’s eyes/viewpoint, if Kyron was taken and not Kaira, that frees Terri from her emotional marriage to Kaine -

She may have used that as an excuse to her scorned lover of why she could not leave Kaine; the only reason she cant leave her marriage is because she has no legal custody of Kyron, only Kaira at that point and she loves Kyron way too much to leave him.

And so he takes Kyron on a busy school day..

    :(

The landscaper said that Terri proposed the idea of murderering Kaine 7 months ago. When asked, he also said that he knew nothing about Kyron. Do you think he’d confess about one thing but not another? I’m assuming the only reason he confessed about the plot on Kaine was because LE knew that he had been in contact with Terri outside of the landscaping gig and he felt he had to say something or face interrogation and consequence. But then why not confess everything if he had knowledge (about Kyron)at that time? I can’t imagine that Terri would be able to find or hire someone to murder a sweet and innocent 7-year old. Just my opinion, but I don’t think there aren’t that many people who would be willing to do that…(even for “large sums of money”), much less listen to such a proposal without going straight to the police.
I’ve heard rumors that this landscaper is latino…could he possibly be an illegal alien? Could blackmail and the consequence of deportation play into this at all?

  11. SouthernMom says:

Could it be the landscaper took Kyron to remove the only hold Kaine had on Terri?

As “only” his step mother, Terri would have no rights to visitation or custody should they divorce. Maybe Terri told the landscaper she would never leave Kaine because of Kyron…?? She could have known that if they divorced, she would have had a right to custody or at least visitations for her daughter, but not Kyron. I still think she is directly involved…but just thinking this out loud as a possibility. I believe they did discuss a murder of Kaine…even if only in jest…or not. I think if Kaine was dead (and Kyron not missing), Terri would have been granted some visitation rights to Kyron because of her daughter being Kyron’s sister, and her full time role in his life. This is a scenario that you could reasonably believe was discussed.

I hope and pray Kyron is alive and being kept hidden.

I, too, think the landscaper is the key to the answers.

    Prayers for Kyron!

  12. Hulagirl says:

Do you happen to know if there is a place near Rainbow Lake where there is a scarecrow? I don’t consider myself to be a reliable clairvoyant, but I did have an impression a few weeks ago of Kyron lying face up in clear, clean, shallow water with alternating shades of light from above, and I also had the impression that he might be near a place associated with scarecrows. I found a place on Google Maps called Scarecrow Hill Farms, where NW Skyline Blvd. intersects with Rock Creek Road. Actually tried driving there, but got terribly lost. Just wondering if I could have been seeing your suggested location instead.

I’m w you on that one lyla. And as far as digging…I wondered about that when the WW reporter went to her house and asked her about the small overgrown piece of land in the middle of the yard and if she had plans to make it into a garden. Blink, As an avid student of your teaching blog, I obtain much information from your articles, but often find your responses to the posts and questions of others to be the most educational. Much as it is in a classroom, imo.

On this disheartening case of the missing Kyron, I felt that you had made one of the biggest leaps of belief that I had seen from you. So I went back to the threads to see when that change had occurred. What I found was that while your thinking had evolved, that the process was very gradual, and really a no point contradictory. Just a slow honing towards the solution. Reading those responses again also left me feeling that there is still another big piece of this missing. Do you agree?

I don’t know if you’ll tolerate this, but I’ve copied and pasted some of the more clarifying of your June responses here. I thought some of your other blogging students might find this condensation to be educational as well.

    Blink Quotes from June 11:

“The likelihood that this is an employee or volunteer of this school is very high, I am choking myself out of not just coming out and saying “the suspect is the man that has not been on the job since early this week.”
    . . . .

“There is no doubt in my mind this child was last seen with the person responsible for his disappearance, and that is the reason that information is being withheld.”
    . . . .

“No, there is a linked article saying they will not release the ID of the person OR the location within the school, that he was last seen at 9am. No, I do not think the Step Mom is involved.”

    Blink Quote from June 14:

“If this is the work of an RSO, and pedophile, which is my strong belief, depending on when that individual was arrested/paroled, their conditions for same will likely include mandatory polygraphs, among other testing that gets a bit graphic and imo, if you have to use it to test someone with they have no freaking business in society in the first place.”

    Blink Quote from June 15:

“The single most important question to me, that was answered emphatically:
Do you need to find Kyron to make an arrest?
    Sherriff answer: NO.
Another observation: The reward is for information leading to Kyron’s location only.
They know who did this, or the reward would include “for information leading to the arrest of the person’s responsible for his disappearance.”

    Blink Quote from June 17:

“Let me be clear in my communication with all readers:
I will stake my professional reputation on the fact that this is a sexually motivated crime.
If we agree on that, how is one getting to the SM?”

    Blink Quotes from June 19:

(RE: Terri’s frustration) “If I were not involved, and it appeared that LE did not believe me, or was barking up a wrong tree, I would be very frustrated. However, if I were, and I was not able to deter their thinking, same reaction. That is a wash for me.”
    . . . .
“I am not aware of any suspect in this case, because to my knowledge, there has not been one named.
I am on the record saying I personally do not feel comfortable that she is involved with Kyron’s disappearance. There may be something else going on (affair, as an ie) if it is fact that she lied about her whereabouts after she left the school.
I am on my 5th hour of analyzing the press conferences. Your not going to convince me the sheriff thought a member of this family was involved, at least then.
This would have had to be a premeditated act, to murder a 7 year old boy for no reason. I am not feeling that at all in this case. I would like to know why the 16 year old is living with the grandparents.”

    Blink Quotes from June 25:

“Mark my words, this comes down to someone with a lifestyle issue that caused this, and they never saw it coming. Secondly, I think information is being withheld from Desiree.”

    Blink Quotes from June 26:

“I feel strongly there is a concerted effort to detatch and downgrade Terri’s “ownership” to Kyron.
It is a message to someone.”
    . . . .

“I am telling you these embarrassing tidbits because I think the theory that Terri went off the deep end due to bodybuilding or being out of shape is “out there.” This woman lived the last 6 months of her life on facebook, asissting at Kyron’s school, going on field trips, etc. I am just not seeing the mental possibilities some are throwing out there.
Brings me back to lifestyle of the two of them. If something was going on, it’s in the privacy aspect of their lives, imo.
I equate it to anyone that has friends that end up divorced and you were floored by the news. Nobody knows what goes on behind a couple’s closed doors.
    One of my fave sayings:
There are always 3 sides to a story.
    His. Hers. The Truth.”

    Blink Quote from June 27:

“I never said she was not responsible, I said I do not believe she herself harmed Kyron, and I still do not. . . . . I can and may be wrong, and have no problem admitting it whatsoever, but he was there, he was dropped off. He did not vanish.”

    Blink Quotes from June 29:

“I do not believe Terri knows where Kyron is. I am confident if she did/does, when deception was detected on that poly question, she would have been arrested, even if to progress the investigation.”
    . . . .

“I believe Kaine is aware of the who/why but not the where. My thoughts and prayers are with him, Kyron, and the entire family today. I would sincerely appreciate it if whomever knows where Kyron is come clean privately.”
    . . . .

“I will say this, I am shocked how ill advised this woman is. If she does not give a very high profile interview through or with her attorney today, I would say there is a strong possibility she will be arrested for something. I maintain I do not believe she directly harmed Kyron Horman. I am aware at this point I am in the minority.”

    Blink Quotes from June 30:

“If this woman does not have counsel, or secured counsel “in the process” I will lose all my faith in the land of opportunistic defense attorneys looking for the biggest case of their careers.
I say that respectfully, as some of my best friends are… (you know the drill)
And then, I will speculate that she has a level of culpability and has been advised by counsel to zip it, as they are looking to mount a mental defense.
Counsel will not be an issue in this case, and frankly, the tactic of allowing others to speak for her is a grave mistake.”

(Blink tips her hat over her brow to Lizzy… wow, they really do read it, lol)

No problem, without the time to confirm the accuracy, that sounds like me.

You are exactly right, but I have not changed my opinion or theory, but I reserve the right to, in this case especially. I think perhaps we need to add a few of my responses about how this case has been investigated like a ransom case in the beginning- which if you don’t believe the child is abducted, is bizarre.

I think the point you were trying to make is well taken. In investigative analysis, as information becomes available, we throw it into the pot, but for me, I admit openly I am a blinkthinker- my intuition hits me before
    I have too much info.

  24. seeker452 says:

@NancyS To answer your questions… my child was missing but not abducted, thankfully. He has an autistic spectrum disorder and is clever with computers and mechanical things, but has difficulty making friends, very poor judgment and a great deal of trouble with the concept of time of day – essentially exactly what a predator would look for. He left the house in the middle of the night, supposedly to meet someone he met online. I had tried to protect the computer but he picked the lock on the door and rebooted it. I discovered him missing shortly after he left. He was found within 24 hours, but had wandered several miles away into another city. I feared the worst, and the police believed he may have been contacted by a sexual predator, hence they took our computers and the FBI had them for about 6 months. (We gave them up voluntarily, of course – but makes you think twice about what you search for or store on your computer :) When he hadn’t been found after several hours, and the police said they were putting him on the national list, my heart sank. So, my situation was nothing like the Youngs and Hormans, since my child was a few years older and was found in the first 24 hours – but I have some idea of what they felt when Kyron didn’t get off the bus.

I am so grateful for the support I had from LE, and for the support Kyron is getting from LE, the community and the larger, global community – Let’s bring Kyron Home!

I am dumbfounded that a sexually motivated scenario could result in the harm of a little boy. Totally can’t rationalize it and I know I’m not supposed to. I run with people who love and cherish children even if the parents aren’t up to par. I say go stage right and and exit through the house. There are so many responsible people in his life (and I know there are) and I wish they could have said its time for the final bow..ciao.

For everyone that is being so harsh in their criticism of KH, I would remind you that it is HIS son that is MISSING and in all heartbreaking reality, wont be coming home ever again. At least SM knows where HER daughter is and that she is safe and well cared for wherever that may be. NO ONE, spouses/parents/relatives/schools/friends, would have allowed this to happen if they knew of the real threat that SM posed. Remember, this is a woman that had full custody of her own son and worked with children at a public school. How many people fell for the same facade? They ALL trusted her with their children. We can all Monday morning quarterback what We would have done in his situation, but the fact is there are many sociopaths that We all deal with on a day to day basis. I’d wager a bet though, that not many are calling 911 to report that they SUSPECT a sociopath MIGHT BE up to something either! I have a brother that fits every criteria I’ve ever seen for a sociopath. He’s also the father to my beloved niece and nephew. As much as I don’t like it, I can’t just call someone and report him based on only my suspicions. By all accounts, he takes good care of his family and his wife thinks he’s a god. BUT if something-ANYTHING, god forbid were to happen, I would immediately recall everything that gave me pause for concern and shout his name from the hilltops. His wife believes everything he tells her because, well, he’s a good liar. It’s hard to be objective when you are dependent in some way on that person, have children with (who also love that person) and to a lesser degree have your own self image wrapped up in your relationship with that person. One last thing-SM may have assumed from the beginning that she would be at a disadvantage if she wanted to divorce KH (ie lack of employment and income, name not on mortgage, no funds for attorney) . So who’s to say she voiced her feelings to him? Maybe her goal was never to inform KH she wanted a divorce. Maybe she never fully confided in him how upset/angry/fearful she felt. Maybe her only desire was to be rid of KH, not divorced from KH. When someone looks to deceive another, why is it so hard to believe that person could succeed in their deception? It happens everyday.

I found him yesterday too and upon a little more digging, saw that he has already been convicted of attacking some poor lady and he is a material witness against his buddies who participated in the attack. I think that is why he is being held.
Keep looking though. I didn’t have time to go through the whole list of registered landscapers this morning, but sent a few known shady local landscapers to Blink, which I think she will post if she finds it appropriate to do so.

Twinkletoes: re researching the landscaper: keep in mind that Blink had included photos and info on one of the links about the Garden and Habitat project at Skyline Elementary school and pictures showing landscaping equipment….time line may have been seven months ago? I don’t believe in coincidences. Have you researched to find out what companies were on that bid list for that school project? I would start there too!

Jackie, if some lunatic is potentially after you, I can sure understand guarding revealing TMI on line. More on the bones, though. What the hell? What state is he in? Jeepers. I’ve dated my share of losers and manipulators in the past, but nothing like that. Glad you made it here safe and sound.

thank you Lizzy for taking the time out to type that out. thank you Blink for being patient with us…

And Blink has left us with the thought “RE: People, go after the landscaper, he is the key”…

Pressure on the LS to confess what he knows? About Kyron, or Terri? About both? About someone else who knows where Kyron is?

Pressure to reveal his name, his background, his identity, to drag him out into the “streets” so to speak? So that he comes out to tell all?

My brows are knitted into a perm. “v” at this point, im thinking so hard…

Good Afternoon-Thank you Blink for giving me another perspective.

I interpreted your response to mean that Terri could be acting/reacting in this inappropriate way inorder to keep herself sane. She may be doing everything and anything to keep her mind off of her children’s absence, and the horror of what may have happened to Kyronadd to that, the horror of what may happen to her if he is not brought home.

She may be going overboard in the opposite direction inorder to spare herself from the quiet contemplative moments that inevitably sneak up on her. Or she may be going overboard because she can not face the truth of what she knows or did.

Jane here is the article I mentioned about Antonio Gonzales. He gets ten years for shooting at rival gang member’s mother. Nice boy.

nan2 – Have NO fear! Already warned both my female neighbor and her live-in that if there is even one yelp or even an idea that there is anything abusive going on with the animals, they WILL be reported immediately and without any hesitation on my part and also another neighbor’s part. When my neighbor who is also concerned is away – I keep an eye and ear open. When I am away at work, she keeps an eye and ear open. I have NO tolerance for animal abuse and neither does my neighbor. We are on it – and they know it. Word has it that he will be moving out the end of June. She’s losing the house. I will approach her to find out where she is going and if she is taking the animals. I plan to follow up with her when he is gone. She herself is kind to the animals and has a kind heart for animals. She gives her power to these guys unfortunately. Thank you for your concern.

  45. Twinkletoes says:

Some people have speculated on why TH is with this fellow and why he is with her and why now and how can she even think of sex, etc. Well, I have no clue. But I do think this relationship, or whatever it is, probably started before Kyron’s disappearance.

What we know…Im thinking out loud here, so dont assume Im assuming!

The landscaper has a name and a job that involves outdoor work. This landscaper has access to heavy equipment, trucks, and land. (definition by webster).

There was landscaping activity at the skyline school (per their website).

There was information by LE that Terri hired a Landscaper to work at the harman home (per LE).

A landscaper was Terri’s Lover… or did he love landscaping? or was it their nickname somewhere on a site? (per Blinks title on this site)

A landscaper was called in by LE, and the same fingerpointed at Terri, of hiring him to kill her husband. This same landscaper was used in a sting that apparently was to get Terri to tell him something, and this sting didnt achieve that because there was no arrest of Terri. It was weird (yes, i think thats important somehow!) (per LE, not the weird part)

This same landscaper may or may not be a material witness? (has that been verified?)

    Is this all connected? anyone?

I am currently reading Gladwell’s book and I picked it up because of the title. I wondered if your name was connected. All of us have been “thin slicing” here, because we have only been given thin slices thus far. It seems to me sometimes that each time we get a new slice it adds a whole new dimension to the case instead filling gaps.

You have something the rest of us don’t, though: the landscaper. You have had the opportunity research him and if you say he is the key, I believe it.

There is no research whatsoever to implicate him. My opinion is solely based on known information, and experience. He is the key.

I really wish I could have had a parallel life, but none the less, I always can :)

I have been depressed for weeks over this case. I can’t even talk to DH about it because the tears start rolling. I wish I had outlet to help and do some good.
