Kyron Horman Missing and Endangered: Grand Jury Meets, Indictment Imminent
Portland, OR- In the case of missing 7-year-old Portland child Kyron Horman, developments today continue to unfold at lightening speed.
During a poorly-kept secret convening of a special grand jury that is in session today, sources inside the investigation believe it’s triers of fact will return an indictment against Terri Horman and possibly one other individual.
It is however, unclear as to whether or not the grand jury is hearing evidence in the alleged murder for hire plot MCSO informed Kaine Horman his wife had master-minded, OR evidence surrounding the disappearance of Kaine and Desiree Young’s son Kyron.
KOIN caught Terri Horman’s friend DeDe Spicher, who was subpoenaed to appear in the proceedings this morning, on video with her attorney, entering the courthouse. Spicher was the subject of a public plea asking her to cooperate with investigators by Kaine Horman and Desiree Young last week. A neighbor of Spicher’s has confirmed the FBI has been seen removing boxes and unknown bagged material from her residence.
According to several sources, DeDe Spicher, Terri’s roommate post Kaine’s restraining order, was working in a garden near the Horman home the day of Kyron’s disappearance when she received a call at approximately 11:15 am. She left abruptly, returning at approximately 1:00 pm. DeDe was unreachable on her cell phone during that time and the property owner became concerned. Spicher is a long time friend and workout companion of Horman’s.
Earlier today, Laura Rackner, Kaine Horman’s Family Law attorney filed a motion to find out where the funds are coming from to foot the bill for Terri Horman’s high profile criminal defense attorney, Stephen Houze.
In Horman’s motion, he is seeking the disclosure of the payments made to Houze, and whether or not it came from marital funds. If it has, Kaine Horman wants half the cash to pay his own legal bills. Kaine Horman alleges that Terri Horman disclosed to a third party that she paid a whopping $350,000 retainer to Houze, however, provided no proof of same in the papers filed today.
In what appears to be a media timing coup, tonight’s episode of Dateline NBC will feature Kaine Horman, Desiree and Tony Young, with interviews and coverage of Kyron’s disappearance.
Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer, Mary Lindstrand, has announced a press conference tomorrow at the MCSO Training Facility, beginning at 2:00 pm PST.

I sure hope they got some GOOD information about who it was hanging around the truck.
I also don’t think that it would be hard to find DDS on 40 acres. A lot of it is forest too, she wasn’t trimming trees in there I bet. Plus she is a self-declared “foodie” showing a lot of interest not just in gardening, but in preparing and eating it. One tweet I saw she had used the word “binge” in relation to herself so I don’t think she would have skipped lunch at this special place. (I’m not one to criticize people for their weight, it was her word).
I looked in the county jail near my work. Nearly 40% of these people are on USM hold! WTH? Most are Hispanic,(not racist either) and some are not, but they could be trafficing across state lines I guess too. This is not a farming county much, so either there is a lot more illegal stuff going on than I am aware (and I am definitely aware of some of it) or a raid was done recently. I mean I just think ALL the state of Oregon, Portland being a big exception, has almost infinite hiding places, there is so much rural and it is so sparsely populated in parts of nearly every county.(originally came from East so I know there is not that much space there)
RS is not in jail now, right – I guess he gets some type of immunity. He must be a key witness, with all the hush-hush, we don’t even have a warbled photo. Being protected also maybe?
These Sanchez guys are connected by their network if nothing else, just as many other subgroups are connected, I don’t think it is so important exactly why and if names and birthdates are changed and they sometimes use another name…?. The one thing that I saw was they both were connected to someone who maybe was Rudy’s brother or they are all cousins. (news media had tried to contact Rudy and his brother answered or something had been said about his brother). That is mainly a guess, maybe through the restaurant, or the host of other businesses RS’ name is attached to (True Crimes research), like trucking for one.
Perhaps DDS is only a minor player in this plot, but play she did and it was risky.
MOTIVATION: I am convinced money is part of it, sexual – DDS wanted to be with TH, maybe LS being played this way as well, thought he could be with TH more, maybe even selling Kyron. Also drugs have been trafficking quite possibly. I know from hearing an expert once that and just what we all know, trafficking categories are easily related to one another. (we” completely leave out arms trafficking though)
On the DDS People interview – saw Mr. McCain comments – yes, what were they doing for 11 days when they couldn’t go many places without being known – is it possible lying is contagious? Would it come through the media to us? Oh no…….

With all the technology today (iPhones, digital cameras, other phones- OK I’m and Apple/Mac person) most of the people I know do not print photos. They carry them around on their devices. Terry is young enough to be of that ilk. I did not see anything about a “print” although I read the account quickly.
Also, the second LS who came forward, maybe someone has the link, refused Terry’s MFH offer IIRC. I looked him up on Linkedin back then and he is on the board of a child advocacy group. I remember thinking of the irony in that. If I misread the info about MFH LS, please note disclaimer: I am not accusing anyone here. Just throwing it out there. I am going North next week to see my grandkids and very busy so have not had time to go back and find info. Blink did not say this.

I have a big problem with the “research” and conclusions over at SM. I’m not a member, though I applied long ago, so I couldn’t post there to influence that train of thought. Here are some facts:
1. The original (recent) interest at SM got started with the question of whether Wishert was the son of William Kent Wishart. WishArt. Arrested not long ago for child porn.
As best I could follow the logic, the leap was made from Jason Wishert to Wm Kent Wishert based on 2 things:
a. A people database that showed a related name for Jason using the ‘a’ in the last name. You have to be REALLY careful with people databases. Sometimes there are simply wrong assumptions on their part, may be based on a misspelling at one of their orig. sources. Sometimes there are aliases, true. But you have to check with a number of databases and do much more than just the one “grab.”
Based on that one fact, SM posters went on to track their Jason WishArt with various permutations of first and middle names and then find their Jason WishArt’s addresses and relatives, etc. on to Wm Kent Wishart, child porn guy.
b. Jason had a reference letter from someone, which I think (?) was on Jason’s own business website (?) in which his name was spelled with an ‘a’. Again, could be the letter-writer’s misspelling, since at that time Jason was using the ‘e’ spelling in his business and court work. And always has, best I can find. But from this letter, 2006 I think, SM posters concluded that Jason was trying to distance himself from the child porn guy.
His grade school references showed the current ‘e’ spelling, so unless he was already trying to distance himself back then, from the porn guy/his father-NOT, it makes no sense. Grade school?
2. A poster at SM, tmomb(sp ?) said the MAXINE BERNSTEIN at the Oregonian was checking into Jason. I thought that the poster had reported Jason to Max as possibly being the son of the child porn Wishart. That’s important since Jason has previously had a few articles published by Hillsboro Argus, related to Oregonian.
Apparently, MAX checked into him. Or didn’t. By then the interest at SM was on the relationship of Jason to DeeDee. I haven’t seen what happened as to the MAX checking into Jason. (Is of interest since he’s a child advocate for Multnomah County.) Klaas opened a thread just for Jason and he comments there.
IMHO, a trainwreck leading to nowhere useful for Ky.

I have had good & easy success by typing; acronyms dictionary – abcxyz (or whatever the letters are); into the search bar. Usually I find an appropriate definition right there on the search page list without having to click into an actual dictionary. Try it for BOP and you’ll see what I mean.

Jason now has a place to talk–at SM. And be talked about behind his back. How did he get there, you ask? If you care, I have 3 possibilities:
1. When asked at SM how he got to SM, Jason said he googled it. Oh, and in another post he says MAX did contact him to tell him about DeDe’s article in People. (Remember, Jason has written for Hillsboro Argus, in the Oregonian family.)
2. An SM poster, tnmomb (I think sp. is right now) said that MAX was “looking into” Jason. I don’t know at whose request MAX was doing that; I thought someone connected to tnmomb told MAX that Jason was suspect of something. (I just now read tnmomb saying her contact was researching Jason till she ran into something too scarey to continue. And it looks like tnmomb’s contact also had emails to/from Jason in which he denied being related to Wm Kent WishArt, child porn guy.)

I personally saw an email being composed, though I don’t have a copy or know if it got through; it was to a managing editor at Oregonian whose name was mentioned at SM in connection with the whole Jason thing. This email has not shown up anywhere that I’m aware of. At the point I last saw it, it aimed at alerting the editor to the discussion of their part-time correspondent Jason and the suspicions SM posters had about him.
Now, BLINK: if this is of any interest to you, my question would be: did that managing editor (Gage??) contact MAX about the Jason SM discussion? If so, did MAX decide to use Jason as the subject matter of an article rather than its author for any particular reason that’s relevant to suspicions about Jason? Jason thought he was going to be writing an article for Oregonian; he said they’d never turned down one of his before. No byline. Leaves open suspicions about Jason.

A fundraiser was scheduled for next Wednesday, to raise money to help cover high costs of the investigation. On Sept.1, all Godfather’s Pizza restaurants in Portland, Troutdale, Forest Grove, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Vancouver, Clackamas and surrounding areas agreed to donate 25 percent of their profits for the fundraising event. Visitors can also purchase Kyron bracelets and buttons at those locations.
Regarding Jason WishErt and William Kent WishArt, a search at Intelius, Whitepages.com and Ancestry.com shows that William Kent’s wife, Linda, appears to have a son named Jason William WishArt who is the same age as WishErt and they have shared the same addresses in Beaverton, Hillsboro and Portland. Jason’s fence company, Embassy Enterprises, is reported to have worked at Skyline, although I believe he denies it. Their website recently took down a personal recommendation for Jason from Robin Alicante, Citizen’s Review Board Coordinator for the Judicial Department in Oregon where he has been a child advocate for years. The letter was dated 2002 and his name was spelled WishArt, not WishErt. This can be seen on SM.

So, acc. to KATU’s sources, Investigators now aren’t sure it was DeeDee who was seen in/around the Horman white truck in south parking lot at schl on June 4.
Why? I assume Investigators have new info that either/or:
1. It was NOT DeeDee
2. It was NOT DeeDee but was another female
3. It was NOT DeeDee and could not have been because it was a male

Hi, I mostly lurk here, but I can’t find this information, or I am confused about things (probably!) – does anyone know if Rudy Sanchez the LS that went before the GJ? If it was him, would that mean he had been given immunity in order to testify? I’ve never been clear if there were two LS that TH had affairs with or if there were two LS that she approached with the MFH idea…..
@Chia: We have very similar scenarios. I revised mine yet again after reading an article ironically written by a pro TH and DD admirer.
Here goes:
I still think KH left the school with TH. (LS or ? could have disabled him and placed him in a trunk and removed him from the school. But, I think too risky). KH walks out the side door, down the gravel road, into the waiting truck.
TH leaves the school with KH and returns home. TH prints off the pictures from the science fair. TH and Kitty rush off to FM for alibi – not realizing she will be using the pictures already.
2nd FM. TH and LS meet up. I think this is where TH learns something went terribly wrong. LS is supposed to have delivered him somewhere or, to someone. But, the drugs were too strong and he is gone. Now, there is panic and they need to dispose of the container quickly.
DD is called – a burial site is needed. TH and LS drive to where DD is working. DD leaves the job site – but not the area. Everything gets buried and they go on with their day.
Motive: TO Deprive KH of his son. TH had already tried to have KH killed. Now that her son is gone, which she directly blames KH for, she wants revenge.
Note: Earlier I thought MC was involved. Now, I think MC was used as a pawn for TH and MC – they used each other. MC was a plant or a self-installed plant who later worked with LE and supplied them material. TH used MC to try and trick LE into believing she didn’t have any other male she might have been working with or even having an affair with.

My best guess .. and that’s all it is .. is that a LS (#1 or #2) and TH are the first and second and are locked into a he said it was her idea and she says it was all him. LE can place LS at somewhere in the adbuction time frame but not in the disposal. LE zeroed in on DDS but has since declared that she “is not” the person in the truck … they are still looking for a third person who participated in the hand off and/or disposal of Kryon. Whether this is someone we were introduced to early on, or some unknown … I just don’t know.

Toasty from reading what Mr. Wishert wrote at Oregonlive.com he states that DDS never brought up TH/KH the whole 10 months they were dating. I guess she kept her ‘friendship’ with TH secret because KH even stated in one of his PC/email answers that he knew of DDS but saw her almost never. Either TH was a very private/sneaky person or KH was not interested in what went on with his own wife. IMO I’m betting that he could care less what she did as long as his needs were met and all things(home, children)were taken care of without involving him. If anyone has noticed he really can’t give a straight answer about his wife’s habits or even what might have been going on with her (PPD) since Kitty’s birth. Come to think of it…in JW’s open letter he says that when DDS lost her job and lived off unemployment she went on a downward spiral. She lost interest in exercise, her strict diet, gabbed on phone all day, did lunches with the girls often, didn’t look for a job and put on weight then he ‘decided’ he didn’t want to be with her. Geez, and he’s still single. Proves to me that if he’s with a woman and she hits a rough spot he’s outta there! Kinda worries me that JW is only interested in helping children. Forgive me, I’m a Mommy with six eyes in the back of my head and radar up 24/7. Not implying anything just I feel hinky bout JW. MOO! Reckon KH could’ve been like him when TH was preggers? I’m with you !! Several weeks ago I was at an event where several (a handful only) of Skyline parents were attending. Just as a matter of conversation I asked “what’s going on” … and I can say they are not buying “it”. They have their own theories and while they have been told to not talk, they do talk amongst themselves. They did not tell me anything and I did not push beyond that point.

When I first thought that there was only a few seconds between TH waving good-bye to him at 8:45am (so she said) and Kyron entering his classroom for class to begin, I thought-what are the chances of some sicko being there during those exact few seconds/minute or two to just grab him? But now learning that classes that day weren’t set to begin until 10am (instead of 9am), that leaves a whole hour and 15 minutes of Kyron being able to freely walk around the school by himself, checking out exhibits, and it leaves a much wider window of opportunity for someone to lure him, say a landscaper for whatever reason or sick motive. Even if the last reported sighting of little Ky was at 9 am, that 15 minute window opens up more possibilities to me than just a few moments walking down the hall to class.
I know at my little nephew’s school, someone must sign him in and sign him out. And the teacher better know who is signing him out. She has vision like a hawk! My nephew recently drew a picture of his teacher and her head had two eyes on the face and two eyes on the back of the head.
1. chianme: the 2nd LS who came forward (he was on a radio show, don’t have link sorry) simply replied to an ad by Terri H that she placed asking for landscaper (online perhaps). It was normal ad for landscaper, he replied, she did not reply back. No MFH connection.
There are so many theories, opinions and questions bouncing around here. I’m so glad that so many of you care and are putting so much thought and time into sharing them. It is certainly helping me and it beats paying a therapist, lol. It’s good to know I’m not the only one losing sleep and having such an emotional reaction here. I want justice for Kyron and those that love him. I refuse to give up my hope that he will come home alive. Innocence lost, but as we have seen from past cases, these children can recover in many ways. All children have the right to fulfill the lives that God gave them.
Rich M and LaurelCanyon have said “Kyron’s rights don’t mean shit!”, which is spot on and it makes me furious. And it’s not just Kyron’s case, the same has been true in so many others. IMHO the whole truth of this ugly, twisted mess will not be known and/or confirmed to us until there is a trial or trials, as there may be more than one. There have been no arrests or public naming of suspects, so I have to assume that no matter what Houze or TH’s parents or DS or her attorney, etc. etc. know, none of them have to say a damn thing at this point. All of which is of no comfort and makes me physically ill. And please, if I am wrong on that let me know. I understand the “innocent until proven guilty” theory that our justice system is based on. It just seems like a loop hole in the system, and that there should be some form of moderating this law in a situation such as this. A child’s life is at stake here!
As for DeDe and the People interview, I think it’s safe to say she got paid for that. This gal desperately needs the money, she has an attorney to pay and I can’t imagine her job prospects are very good right now. I think that stupid smug smile on her face when she came out of her GJ appearance angered a lot of people and made her look guilty. It may be a coincidence that DS was on that farm that day (which is smack dab on the way to both Fred Meyer stores and just South of the school) and allegedly disappeared for several hours while leaving her cell phone in the car. Did she really say “Whoever has Kyron might want to hurt TH”? I‘m not finding that part of the interview with People. IMO she is involved (bat phones, anyone?) but to what extent?. I’m feeling like TH may have called her for help and fed her a lot of crap with a bit of the truth thrown in. DS’s lawyer said “I’d be surprised if Terri Horman is not arrested” in his one and only media interview. Now why would he say that?! He hasn’t spoken publicly since, IMO for several reasons, including a smack upside the head from Houze and possibly LE as well.
As for the Fred Meyer appearances: We know LE has some surveillance pictures, they know where she was parked. And AL saw her at the second one with the sick Kiara in her arms. I would think what lacking here is video footage in those areas that would have caught some sort of shenanigans as it was occurring. This would explain why LE was asking if anyone that was there saw anything suspicious. Too bad there aren’t surveillance cameras at all of our schools, huh? I’ve joined the fight for that here at home. A child is a lot more important than stolen merchandise or money. How is it that we have optional ID chips for our pets but not our children? I’m going off subject here, I just hope it provokes some thought and maybe in time some action.
In regards to Sanchez and their associates, that’s a huge piece of the puzzle here. None of us know the whole sordid story, but considering all that we do know and what has happened this is a really ugly, dangerous situation. IMHO this is why there are so many agencies involved and LE has to be really careful here in every way. I totally respect and understand that, because they are hoping to find Kyron alive and of course bring those responsible to justice. I’m going to keep praying, hoping and looking for our little frogman everywhere I go. Hope ya’ll will do the same.
Dee, I agree with you. I believe Jason Wishert should be looked at very closely. Interesting that he comes along and puts himself in the middle of this case. I read what he wrote about believing Kyron will be returned safe and sound, how big a celebration it will be. That’s wonderful, I would love nothing more than Kyron alive and back home, but what makes Jason so sure of this?
I hope if he has more info that he shares it all with LE. Someone has to step up for Kyron instead of thinking about their sorry butts if they had any part in this.

Oregon law, at 132.320(9), re how grand juries are to consider evidence says:
“(9) The grand jury is not bound to hear evidence for the defendant, but it shall weigh all the evidence submitted to it; and when it believes that other evidence within its reach will explain away the charge, it should order such evidence to be produced, and for that purpose may require the district attorney to issue process for the witnesses.”

SO, maybe the current events favor what I tossed out earlier here, but this time originating with the grand jury itself. There’s a search now for witnesses who can nail down the position of the Horman truck and the time, and maybe also that purported person in/near the Horman truck at schl.
Could the witness-hunt now be aimed at EXONERATING the current popular suspects??? (that be TH and DeeDee)

@beejay, I don’t think there’s any way TH is going to be exonerated. Seems like she planned this. DeDe I dunno. Her behavior makes her VERY unlikeable and I believe she’s being deceptive about what she knows (or suspects at least) but I’m still on the fence about her. MOO
Hi Beejay, Re; a third person tied to Kyron’s diappearance.
I’ll give it a try. But, this is only in the context of the article you linked (also linked at the bottom of this post). I’m trying to do this, following the ’2 cut&pasted paragraphs only’ copyright rule.
The article mentions about investigators wanting to know about a third person tied to the disappearance of Kyron. Next it refers to a witness having seen an adult in and around the truck in front of the school.
Then, from the body of the article;
“They have linked Spicher and Horman through fliers they distributed that ask for information about both women and the Hormans’ truck. Terri Horman drove the white Ford F-250 pickup truck to the school that morning for Kyron’s science fair.”
So, by my reading of the article, it states LE is looking for a 3rd person linked to the *disappearance* but kind of swithces horses and goes into people linked to the *truck*. They’re linked to the truck through the fliers.
The 2 people linked to the truck (through the fliers) are Terri & DeDe. The unknown adult witnessed in & near the truck would be the 3rd person. ok?
An interesting side note; the flier the article refers to, seems to me, to be two fliers.
The June 4 flier was distributed to residents near Skyline School. It’s the one with DeDe’s picture and askes whether anyone saw DeDe on June 4th among other questions;

@LPB Regarding Anselmo being released. I have a family member who was in jail. I did look him up on the computer jail website and it showed he was released one time but I found out later he was transferred to another prison/jail for different charges. When they move them around sometimes it seems they are released but they are just finished with their stay at that jail/prison and on to face another charge etc.

Yes, as Ms. B has told us, Rudy was the landscape/lover to TH. Mass media released some info. shortly after B. did, but declined to disclose Rudy’s name.
I’m not sure about your third thought: “3. Anselmo is the one that took Kyron (for Rudy) as revenge against TH.” I think Rudy, Anselmo, or another of their cohorts took Ky. I haven’t looked for criminal records on them and wouldn’t think much would be avail. due to their immigration status and due to records possibly being put into a sealed/temporarily removed status by fed. agencies involved in this investigation. But, NO, I don’t think Ky was taken as revenge; but could be.
I think Ky was probably the victim of a sex crime. And then murdered.
If one of those guys is a child predator, you have a good suspect. TH certainly provided access to Ky thru her other dealings with Rudy. Maybe Rudy IS just a material witness to the crime. Although, material witnesses have been known to be the actual perp. in the end.
As to the rest, carry on with your thinking. I don’t know.

Trying to clarify my assumptions about Ky being the target of a sex crime:
1. It has always been the simplest explanation to me once I knew a few facts. Specifically, that TH had been a naughty girl with Rudy; that that Rudy had an INS type problem; that Rudy was a landscaper (from my career in mental health where the craziest/crime-prone clients we had were either landscapers or we referred them–yes!–to landscaping jobs where they could function marginally); that TH’s missing son was a cute 7 yr old boy. That RS Landscape Maintenance did some work for Skyline elem. and drove a white truck. That Rudy was somehow under wraps and used in a sting. Then that Anselmo was arrested and I researched him and found a probably tie-in with Rudy. Also, that Portland has a major problem with child sex crimes, human trafficking, and gangs. (I know, it’s not alone.) It just all seems so logical to me. (And might be logical but wrong!)
2. This is the first case I’ve followed on the web. I’ve looked around at diff. crime sites and I’m here by choice. I’m trusting Blink till she proves herself untrustworthy. Now, to the extent that I can UNDERSTAND B’s cryptic writings, I think she believes that Ky was the victim of a sex crime against him. And, I think she might have more info. to base her belief on than I have to base my belief on.
And I know B. might kill me for bringing it up, yet again, but maybe if I’m too stupid to understand her, B. will CORRECT ME NOW–PLEASE–IF I’M WRONG.

I’m not sure how to take Jason Wishert. It’s a little weird — to me– that he hung onto her cards post-breakup given his supposed loss of respect.
I believe him as to some issues, including the making all her lunches in Tupperware. Weird detail. I’m curious why he found her very rigid lifestyle attractive.
IMHO, I find it odd that he lost respect for her because of changes in her life as to working out, etc. I could see that he might not find her attractive, but to lose respect? Didn’t he realize that she was depressed when she lost her job?
It would be interesting to read a statement analysis of his letter to the Oregonian. Some of the phrases in it struck me as odd.
It’s odd that he immediately went to police with a couple of tips. Am I correct that he was a suspect, too? If so, is he trying to clear himself by pointing at DeDe? If so, I’m not sure I get it.
