Holly Bobo Missing: ATV Tire Ads Tied To Case- Search Sets Up Roadblocks- Blink Discuss Case Tonight On Dana Pretzer Show

Parsons, TN- Tomorrow marks the one week point of the forcible abduction and probable assault outside the home of 20 year old nursing student, Holly Bobo.

Mark Gwyn, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, announced the current reward offered has tripled to $75,000 thanks to a $50,000 commitment from Tennesee Governor Bill Haslam at a press conference yesterday at the command center.

Also during the press conference, Gwyn stated that Clint Bobo, Holly’s brother and witness to her walking into the woods with a man dressed in camo he thought was her boyfriend, was NOT able to provide a description.

..”As you know, at this time, we have one eyewitness, that’s Holly’s brother, and he was not able to give us a description…”Mark Gwyn, TBI

Yesterday, Holly Bobo’s cousin, Whitney Duncan, appeared on Fox News and Good Morning America, thanking the public and asking folks to keep searching. She also appears to have lost her patience with speculation about her cousin Clint, possibly being not only an eyewitness, but a suspect.

Whitney Duncan Tweet

Duncan’s sentiments were echoed by newly appointed family spokesperson Kevin Bromley as he appeared on the Good Morning America Show this morning:

“Clint is a wonderful young man and as a character witness for him, I would rule out any kind of rumors on Clint and the family would feel comfortable with me saying that as well,” said Kevin Bromley, a spokesman for the Bobo family.

The 7th day of the search began again today, at the new command center, The National Guard Armory located at 256 West 9th St, Parsons.

Kristin Helm, spokesperson for TBI announced yesterday they were choosing to move to this location due to the amoung of evidence that has been collected, and their need for enhanced security.

TBI has decided on a new tactic today, as reported by Will Nunley, of  WBBJ-TV there is a roadblock set up on Myracle Town Rd and twelve new investigators from TBI have been added to the case this morning.  (Editors Note: Nunley has been doing a stellar job in the field on this case, kudos, follow his tweets.)

This investigation is beginning to sound very much like how Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams was nabbed – by a roadblock where the tires on his vehicle were spotted by an eagle-eyed investigator and were visually consistent with tire treads found at the scene of one of the murdered women.

Speaking of tires, www.blinkoncrime.com has uncovered what has been determined to be “materially relevant” to the case of the disappearance of Holly Bobo, by a source inside the investigation speaking to blinkoncrime.com on the condition of anonymity.

While our source will not comment on whether one or both ads are a part of the case or who they might be tied to, the ad from Parsons, appeared at 12:33AM on April 17, before the public was asked to notice who may have replaced tires or cleaned an ATV or vehicle.

Two ATV tire ads, one from Jackson, TN and one from Parsons, TN appeared on Craigslist on April 17, 2011.

Craigslist Ad from Parsons New ATV Tires With Rims

Craiglist Ad ATV Tires- Jackson

As the search perimiters in previous days were located 6 and 8 miles away from Bobo’s home, where items of hers are believed to have been recovered, it begs the question, why would the focus turn to nearly 2 miles away from the Swan Johnson address of the Bobo’s, to Myracle Town Rd, in the opposite direction?  Do investigators think the suspect has been trying to send them in the opposite location by planting evidence?

Police are interviewing neighbors in this Myracle Town Rd. and Box Rd. area today, as well as stopping  motorists, of which there are very little.  A different tactic indeed.

Searches in this rural terrain are daunting to say the least, however, the community outreach and response to requests for assistance has been nothing short of astounding.

While speculation that the suspect responsible for Holly’s disappearance is indeed a member of the very small town of Parson’s, and is well known to Holly and the Bobo family, many close friends of the Bobo’s are participating in searches of their own properties vowing to continue until she is located.

Many long time Decatur County families own large tracts of land near the Bobo residence.

Some of them for generations – including the Todd family, as an example, who owns large tracts in the Myracle Town Rd,  Box Rd,  and Gilbert Rd area.

Jason Todd, a former schoolmate of Holly Bobo’s as are MANY of Holly’s friends, will unfortunately end up searching for her in each other’s  backyards.

    One thing I did want to say, I was a frequent visitor to this site for the Kyron Horman case and I come by often to see if there is any new info.

    Back then we were all all over Terri Horman right out of the gate after we saw the first news conference. I know there were other factors, last one with Kyron, being a step-mom, etc… but what we were talking about then was the way she acted at the PC. Lots of crying without tears, lack of eye contact, body language, wearing makeup, etc….

    I read here and other places about Holly’s Bobo’s mother at the time that people were watching the parents speak to the news and everyone was saying how real grief looked, how heartbreaking it was, etc…
    Not wanting to be made upset, I avoided watching it. A couple of days ago I started watching a clip of the local police talking that I didn’t know would include the parents. So I watched. I was expecting to be moved, this is, as they all are, a heartbreaking situation.

    What I saw stunned me based on the comments I had read. I saw arms folded tight against the mother’s body as they approached the mic, I saw lots of crying without any real tears, complete lack of eye contact and loud sniffling without any clear need. She also had lipstick on, eye makeup and at least blush.

    It stopped me cold. We were all up in arms for these same things with Terry, yet no one said a word about Ms. Bobo.

    I am not casting any suspicions on Ms. Bobo. I have not read or heard of anything in that direction, of course, we haven’t heard much of anything at all.

    I just wonder what the difference is and we all responded so differently to Terri for the very same things. Just because she was the step mother, or was there something else?

    I would hope we all remember this in the future when we look so hard for clues. I know I will.

  2. Laurie says:

    That is a good theory Jeff. I grew up without a dad so I don’t know, but would a dad really help his son like that?

    I don’t understand what you mean about obsession. Can you explain that?

  3. TR says:

    @Laurie I can think of many examples of parents attempting to help their children cover up a crime. It’s an act of desperation and love..although it’s difficult to imagine. Some of the comments do seem indicate something along those lines. Frustrating for everybody involved and heartbreaking for her family.

  4. MoogieInVA says:

    @Laurie One angle where I can see obsession if it’s the exbf and he figures if “I can’t have you, then neither will anyone else” mentality. If there is truth behind the restraining order, he could totally be obsessed with her and not able to let go.

    I am going to do something that I hope will not offend anyone given the onset of the Holiday.

    Great posts, Robin. You raise some interesting and thoughtful points.

    Regarding Holly’s disappearance, I can’t believe more hasn’t come out about the restraining order too. I think I read that the ex she had a restraining order against was cleared, so perhaps that’s why. But still, the silence around her past and current relationships has been deafening. Has the boyfriend been seen or heard from since this happened? Has he been officially cleared?

  8. Babyfacemagee says:

    I just said a prayer for the Bobo family as well. It sounds like this is going to be a rough night for them.

  9. Jackie Bauer :) says:

    >> Has the boyfriend been seen or heard from since this happened?

    My thinking on the current boyfriend is that he’s been kept out of the limelight since his appearance might make Holly’s chances of getting out even worse given the tenuous and highly charged situation and erratic, jealous behavior of the obsessed abductor. That was just my guess. Blink, would that be the case?

  10. GraceintheHills says:

    Blink, I am right there with you asking for St. Anthony’s intercession. He has never disappointed me when I have asked for his help.
    ~~~~~~~~~
    God bless and keep Holly, and watch over her family during this sad time.
    I am not catholic, but I am a very spiritual person, and I believe strongly after my short tenure in this work that the man upstairs controls a bit of the timing of how these things “go” based on a matrix I don’t suppose any of us will know until we hopefully make it to the “big white way”. (Your DIL will think I am talking about 42nd st. lol)
    True story- I sent that prayer (extended version as he was catholic) to a family and their son was found the next day.
    That is enough for me to be appropriately superstitious.
    @robin… I haven’t watched any of the media on this case, because honestly, I hate TV. But you’ve made me curious enough that I think I’ll hunt up some of those videos tomorrow. Since I had a very different opinion then most did of the Kyron Hormon parentals’ body language, I’m now curious what I’d think of these.
    Re: dive team call-out
    Does that sound like it’s a “we’re diving right now, tonight” to you, or is that a “we’re headed that direction, so we can be there and ready bright and early”
    I thought google-mapping it would answer that question, but it looks like it’s not the local county? Appears more like an hour or two and a couple of counties away?
    I just want to caution everyone-
    I encourage analysis across the board, in every area of a case.
    I may not allow what I call unsubstantiated “opinion” as it relates to the body language or alleged inappropriate public reactions.
    I have actually had contributors think a Mother killed her own child because of similar reaction criteria, and the fact that she wore a purple bow in her hair that looked ridiculous. As I told them then, and will tell you now, I suspected the bow was her daughters, and many times a family member in shock will be on meds that they are adjusting to.
    I am just asking that we try our best to stick to as many fact based observations as we can.
    A Prayer For The Missing
    O, Blessed Mother and St Joseph,
    you searched when your Son Jesus
    disappeared when he was twelve.
    You would not give up
    until he was found.
    You know the pain of having someone missing,
    and the joy of finding them,
    as you found your son.
    Help those who are searching now,
    to find the answers to their questions,
    and an end to their searching.
    Inspire people to be vigilant,
    so that their eyes and ears
    may see and hear news that will bring hope.
    Comfort those who feel lonely and sad
    because the one they love has vanished.
    Be with them in the storm
    and guide them in their efforts.
    We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
    I guess it is all how you look at it. I found the mother totally devasatated to the point where the Officer had to physically hold her up at the end of her statment. She was so distraught she was on the verge of collapse. Also I felt there was a knowing — like she knew what ever happened to Holly was the worst case scenario.
    Agreed. I walked away from that press conf knowing this Mother has reason to fear the absolute worst.
    What I said to a Blink editor:
    I think Mom knows more about the ex-violent potential that Dad.
    If My Dad ever knew that some guy was physical or threatened me with violence, he just might shoot him so he did not have the chance. I could see that scenario as a reason potentially Dad would be kept in the dark.
    This was just my reaction, not based on any inside data.
All time well tell give it about anther week.
  18. jeff says:
    i personally don’t think she was tricked going into the woods i think she might have followed the guy because he was bleeding then once in the woods thats when things starting going wrong the guy was probley on some kind of drugs mixed with an obsession for her fuels rage further showing up in the morning in the carport could be because he wasn;t alllowed there when her parents were home the brother is p robley friends with the guy so he isn’t goign to care to much or think its odd nor if he lives close by wouldn’t take him long to kill her and dispose of the body and elude cops or snatch her cops have a problem because they can;t find the real crime scene u can tell this was done by someone young an abducter is not going to bleed at the scence of the abduction someone helped trust me further more if this guy came there at seven no one would have known he left if he lived close just another theroy
    I am not saying I disagree with your theory, I guess I am wondering why you seem so certain that this guy is a cutter.
  19. Edward says:
    Sounds like the motivation is “I am going to hell and you are going with me” which I have witnessed a few times in my life. This insane state of mind will not concern themselves with other family members or friends when setting out to accomplish the task. He will kill her first in some dramatic method and then he may walk off and kill himself in another spot or just sit down next to her and do the deed there.
    My feeling is that there is some place that he considered “Their spot” and he has taken her there. Somebody should remember back when these 2 first met and the places that they went to find that secret spot.
    Really I have no idea as I have not done research here but it is just my gut feeling.
  20. jeff says:
    i dont know if he is a cutter i am just saying its a good way to get a girls attention that ur obessed with to follow you. shes a nurse so shes going to want to help him.
    That makes sense. Although I am confused why she would just not help him there.
    Blink – The slightly different version of this prayer that I learned from the nuns as a youngster in parochial school has given me comfort throughout the years. I too have taught several of my non-Catholic friends the simple plea for intercession from St. Anthony. I have uttered it in very trivial situations compared to this one. But nothing is impossible when you have Faith. Thank you for offering it today. My version joins yours: Dear St. Anthony, please come around. Someone precious has been lost and cannot be found.
    Scared Monkeys are discussing an ex whom Holly had sought a restraining order against. This could certainly be someone who felt jilted and rejected, imo.
  30. sage101 says:
    I have been following this on here for an entire week.
    @ Jeff – you have a very detailed theory. I am curious as to why you would think the perp was cutting himself?
    @ Blink — I have read all over the place including scared monkeys and volnation.com blog for missing Holly Bobo —
    The ex boyfriend with the restraining order (if this is true) is NOT Drew Scott.
    It is a boyfriend from before, who obviously had a year or so to think about Holly..and obsess over her.
    Is he really missing like it has been reported on these different forums?
    If it is really the ex boyfriend — it would lead me to believe that is why Holly thought she could control the situation and why she didn’t run back up to the house.
    My heart breaks for her.
    Also – they have not released the 911 calls..I know the brother called 911 but is the woman who called 911..Holly???
    I am aware and hopefully so were my readers based on my piece that the ex with the alleged restraining order is not Drew Scott.
    I can’t confirm anyone that LE wants to speak to or has spoken to is “missing”, but it is my understanding they have not located everyone they wish to talk to, yes.
    To my knowledge, the second 911 call was from the neighbor that heard “screams.”
    thank you for saying the st. anthony prayer :) i found myself saying it last night as I was falling asleep for holly. i think i have been saying that prayer since i was 5 years old :)
    in regards to the perpetrator of this crime, if this is an ex and they haven’t located him yet i think it’s possible this could be a murder suicide, but then i think to myself that if this were the case and he hasn’t been located at all yet, and the police were fairly certain he was the one involved, wouldn’t they alert the public to be looking for him?
    an ex who is obsessed with someone can stew for a very long time over the breakup. my stalker is an ex i broke up with two years ago and he still can’t get over it. so yes, i definitely think this is someone from the past.
    may god bless holly and keep here in his loving arms
  40. TR says:
    I may be going in the wrong direction, but is it possible that Holly willingly followed someone she knew into the woods who summoned her for help in some sort of fabricated hunting accident? This could account for the blood, especially since we have no idea if the blood belonged to Holly, the perp, or perhaps an animal? I keep thinking about the camo wear and the woods, the atv and the fact that it was open hunting season on several small game. Maybe it is also why she continued holding her belongings and did not fight at the onset.
  42. Cat says:
    Her last known sighting is still baffling to me, the neighbor, who contacted 911, specified that she heard a female screaming, which I assume is what initiated the call. How long was it before police arrived on the scene from the first call and when exactly did the Brother’s call come in? An hour or so later after the neighbor, when he noticed the blood? Were sirens used in response to the first call and were police already in the area when his call came in?
    Also, from what I have read, there were two ex-boyfriends, the younger one (still in HS I believe), was questioned, released, and is assisting in the searches. IMO, the other ex would appear to be an obvious point of interest, based on the apparent lack of information.
    Lastly, it appears that the searches conducted have been based on some underlying sensibility, meaning I assume some intelligence has been obtained (not released to the public of course), that are directing the search patters.
    The boyfriend DS you are referring to graduated last year.
    The rest of your post I agree with and is correct.
  44. TR says:
    @Robin, I respectively disagree with your comments about Mrs. Bobo. I just spent some time watching all the footage I could find and I see a woman in pain and simply at a loss for words. As per Blink’s suggestion that parents in these situations are often medicated, I think that may be the case here. Or, perhaps, she is simply exhausted from lack of sleep. I see zero signs that her parents are anything but grieving and loving parents.
  45. gigi says:
    Most cutters cut themselves for relief or to release the pain they feel that is caused by certain situations. It is beyond my understandking with this case how any perp could actually think they could get by with this and why oh why he felt he had to do this to start with. Obviously, this perp has festered over time and finally had to do something about it. And now it may be too late. Someone had to know the mental condition of the perp…and dropped the ball and now time can not reverse itself. So, so, sad.
    As for items found. I think Holly probably had a cross over bag with her lunch, books and pens, pencils and papers were. I also think the items in that bag were selectively placed by the perp. All my opinion.
  46. dew says:
    Re below post —
    TR, I don’t think Robin was indicating that Mrs. Bobo was not grieving. Rather she agreed that this was a devastated mother but she was surprised to see some body language in her (Mrs. Bobo) that was roundly criticized in Terri Horman. I think she was suggesting that perhaps people had misread TH. I further think (IMO) that Robin was wondering how our preconceived ideas influenced our reaction to body language. ie. arms clasped across body in TH was deceit while in Mrs. Bobo it was pain.
    I shouldn’t speak for Robin but I thought her post was more about us, as posters, than it was about the Bobo family.
    I continue to pray for an Easter miracle.
    I am looking for the video where Sheriff Wyatt said that and will post when I find it again.
    I have been stewing on this for two days now until I read what Cappucino(from Scared Monkeys) posted today-then it fell into place!
    If Clint saw Holly being lead into the woods with a gun to her head-he would have no choice but to stand down and call 911 for immediate help. With that said–here is the comment Cappucino posted:
    First off, I suggest any one who is going to comment shouold take the time to read the other comments on the story so you aren’t just repeating what others have said and focusing on the information that has already been explained as being false. As for the ex with the restraining order, he is no longer missing, and was at work this evening. THE MOTHER WAS AT WORK, I live with three eye (and ear) witnesses to this fact, as I mentioned before. The brother IS NOT INVOLVED, not even suspected. Bustogusto- I know you had the best of intentions, but it sounds like the information you got may have passed through too many people, because some of what you posted contradicts what is known at the scene to be fact, directly from the family and those investigatng the case. But more importantly, at least you knew not to blindly accept the media’s version of things.Catrocky 22- what kind of idiot are you that YOU can’t even read the facts as posted by actual witnesses and people on the scene? To even make a comment like that proves you aren’t worthy to have a platform like the Internet that subjects other people to your stupidity. This family is suffering, and you don’t know a damn thing about them or this case. Morriswest- I certainly hope your comment about the accuracy of the news media was intended as sarcasm and that no adult is foolish enough to actually believe the the media would never lie, distort the truth for ratings, or jump to sensational conclusions.And to all of “I would of…” yeah, I guess you would’ve, and your sister would have a bullet through her brain, instead of hope of surviving, but I guess you think you would be faster than a bullet from the gun to her head, right? Or did you even consider that? Oh wait, that’s right, you didn’t know about that because you don’t know the facts in the case!Don’t assume you know everything, or in this case, anything, just because you read some of the incomplete and outright false information from the media.
    NOTED: This person clearly is emotional & getting very frustrated by rumors and media reports. I would also imagine that LE is aware of this person that allegedly is an ex & had a restraining order
    @dew…I agree that Robin was commenting more on the readers and not necessarily making any accusations against Mrs. Bobo. However, she did seem to indirectly judge her behavior. It seems hurtful to make comments like that while a family is in crisis. I do get her point though, but I would argue that in the TH case, the analysis of her body language did not occur until after some very damaging information began to be leaked regarding her character. Initially, people on this site were not pointing their fingers at TH. I too was a frequent reader and visitor here and followed that situation closely from the start.
    @ Cat-that is really confusing me as well!
    From the start, reading every single place I could find-there are some conflicting reports to put it mildly.
    One of the first things I read though, someone said that a neighbor heard screams from the direction of Holly’s home and either WENT to their home or called and spoke to Clint.
    I have always believed that and think that is why we hear there were TWO 911 calls. I believe that Clint’s is the first call and then his Mom has the second call, since he alerted her immediately about what was going on.
    In one video interview with Sheriff Wyatt-he states that the first 911 call came in to his office at 7:59 am. I’ll look for the link again.
    So if that makes sense-we have a male 911 caller (Clint), and a female 911 caller (Holly’s Mom). I don’t think the neighbor called 911-but did either call or go to Holly’s home and spoke to Clint about the screams.
    *************************
    But on the flip side of that coin is the actual sighting of Holly by her brother with the camo guy and how it fits in with the 911 calls timewise. I’m sort of at a loss there-anyone else have any ideas?
    Her last known sighting is still baffling to me, the neighbor, who contacted 911, specified that she heard a female screaming, which I assume is what initiated the call.
    Blink, there is a map at SM and it shows a search at Camden TN today. I can find no verification of any search in the Camden area to corroborate this. Do you know if this is a place that was searched today?
