Holly Bobo Missing: ATV Tire Ads Tied To Case- Search Sets Up Roadblocks- Blink Discuss Case Tonight On Dana Pretzer Show

Parsons, TN- Tomorrow marks the one week point of the forcible abduction and probable assault outside the home of 20 year old nursing student, Holly Bobo.

Mark Gwyn, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, announced the current reward offered has tripled to $75,000 thanks to a $50,000 commitment from Tennesee Governor Bill Haslam at a press conference yesterday at the command center.

Also during the press conference, Gwyn stated that Clint Bobo, Holly’s brother and witness to her walking into the woods with a man dressed in camo he thought was her boyfriend, was NOT able to provide a description.

..”As you know, at this time, we have one eyewitness, that’s Holly’s brother, and he was not able to give us a description…”Mark Gwyn, TBI

Yesterday, Holly Bobo’s cousin, Whitney Duncan, appeared on Fox News and Good Morning America, thanking the public and asking folks to keep searching. She also appears to have lost her patience with speculation about her cousin Clint, possibly being not only an eyewitness, but a suspect.

Whitney Duncan Tweet

Duncan’s sentiments were echoed by newly appointed family spokesperson Kevin Bromley as he appeared on the Good Morning America Show this morning:

“Clint is a wonderful young man and as a character witness for him, I would rule out any kind of rumors on Clint and the family would feel comfortable with me saying that as well,” said Kevin Bromley, a spokesman for the Bobo family.

The 7th day of the search began again today, at the new command center, The National Guard Armory located at 256 West 9th St, Parsons.

Kristin Helm, spokesperson for TBI announced yesterday they were choosing to move to this location due to the amoung of evidence that has been collected, and their need for enhanced security.

TBI has decided on a new tactic today, as reported by Will Nunley, of  WBBJ-TV there is a roadblock set up on Myracle Town Rd and twelve new investigators from TBI have been added to the case this morning.  (Editors Note: Nunley has been doing a stellar job in the field on this case, kudos, follow his tweets.)

This investigation is beginning to sound very much like how Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams was nabbed – by a roadblock where the tires on his vehicle were spotted by an eagle-eyed investigator and were visually consistent with tire treads found at the scene of one of the murdered women.

Speaking of tires, www.blinkoncrime.com has uncovered what has been determined to be “materially relevant” to the case of the disappearance of Holly Bobo, by a source inside the investigation speaking to blinkoncrime.com on the condition of anonymity.

While our source will not comment on whether one or both ads are a part of the case or who they might be tied to, the ad from Parsons, appeared at 12:33AM on April 17, before the public was asked to notice who may have replaced tires or cleaned an ATV or vehicle.

Two ATV tire ads, one from Jackson, TN and one from Parsons, TN appeared on Craigslist on April 17, 2011.

As the search perimiters in previous days were located 6 and 8 miles away from Bobo’s home, where items of hers are believed to have been recovered, it begs the question, why would the focus turn to nearly 2 miles away from the Swan Johnson address of the Bobo’s, to Myracle Town Rd, in the opposite direction?  Do investigators think the suspect has been trying to send them in the opposite location by planting evidence?

Police are interviewing neighbors in this Myracle Town Rd. and Box Rd. area today, as well as stopping  motorists, of which there are very little.  A different tactic indeed.

Searches in this rural terrain are daunting to say the least, however, the community outreach and response to requests for assistance has been nothing short of astounding.

While speculation that the suspect responsible for Holly’s disappearance is indeed a member of the very small town of Parson’s, and is well known to Holly and the Bobo family, many close friends of the Bobo’s are participating in searches of their own properties vowing to continue until she is located.

Many long time Decatur County families own large tracts of land near the Bobo residence.

Some of them for generations – including the Todd family, as an example, who owns large tracts in the Myracle Town Rd,  Box Rd,  and Gilbert Rd area.

Jason Todd, a former schoolmate of Holly Bobo’s as are MANY of Holly’s friends, will unfortunately end up searching for her in each other’s  backyards.

Yes, as Dew said, my post was about us, not Ms. Bobo. I have no suspicions at all about her. I think the bad guy in this case is the ex that we hear nothing about.

On the other hand, I don’t think Terry Horman is or was innocent of whatever her involvement is in Kyron’s disappearance.

I think that those of us that were saying and thinking those things about Terry are honest, some, not all, but some of those things can be seen in Ms. Bobo. I was just thinking out loud about how and why we come to some thoughts we have. I didn’t see what others saw in the short tape of Ms. Bobo. I did see several things we saw in Terry that helped us come to some conclusions. It makes it so very clear how these things can lead us to things we shouldn’t be so sure about. Again, I do not suspect her of anything wrong, at all. But, she was wearing makeup, the tears were dry, her eyes weren’t red and swollen, she kept rolling her eyes up. Terry did all these and we pointed out that Desiree didn’t. Some used this to help them form suspicions.

Every case and ever person is different. I can only guess what I would be feeling. I don’t know which would be carrying me in the first few days, my horrendous anger or my even more horrendous fear. I would need meds of some kind if I was expected to just sit at home and wait. I have no idea what I would look like or act like in front of cameras at such a time.

My wish would be that there would never be a reason for any parent to feel what Ms Bobo is feeling and no reason to have to have these press interviews. I just know that I will be careful of what I look for and my thoughts about what I see.

Just so ya’ll know, we’re gettin’ more bad weather in KY and I’m pretty sure that part of TN is goin’ to be under the gun as well. With all the rain we’ve gotten this could actually help find Holly if she is no longer with us. (Flash floods)

My prayers go out to this girls family and friends and I hope this case closes quick. I’m surprised it hasn’t been closed already.

  3. Mermaid14 says:

Hi Blink, I rarely skip around on your site but this case just has me curious and baffled. First of all, Holly’s resemblance to Morgan Harrington to me is stunning. They never found Morgan’s killer did they?
I don’t have a mental map in my mind but is Tennessee in any way close to Virginia?
Now this other woman who almost was abducted in Tenn. Could we be dealing with a serial abductor here?
There was blood found on the ground I heard? Has a dna analysis been done?
For me, I thought the Mother’s grief seemed genuine. Of course we always look for subtle things and it is so hard to determine genuine grief because everyone is so different.
Oh Blink I am Catholic and I wish I had a nickel for every time I prayed to St. Anthony to help me find something. It works!! I am living proof. There is a patron saint for just about everything and I tell you even if you are not Catholic I believe in invoking their help. I had a friend whose daughter had a rare type blood cancer, they had given up on her, I prayed like crazy to St. Peregrine the patron saint of cancer victims. The child survived, recovered, and has never had a reoccurence. Truly a miracle.
St. Agnes is the patron saint of women, so who knows, give it a try.
I so fear for this young woman’s life. I am not convinced she is gone, there may be hope still.

  12. ISpy says:

Just wanted to chime in on one of Becca’s earlier posts. To the family of the perpetrator, this is not going to go away. Listen, if your son abducted or killed Holly, you need to come forward for everyone’s sake…yours, your sons, Holly’s family, and your neighbors. Often, parents are the last to really know or realize their child has a serious problem. That doesn’t make this your fault and doesn’t mean your neighbors are going to blame you. If anything, if you come forward and are honest about the situation, they’re going to respect and support you. Hiding solves nothing…it just makes the load you’re carrying a whole lot heavier because now you’ve added fear and deception. If your son abducted /killed Holly, he needs mental help. Hiding isn’t going to get him the help he needs either. No one wins and everybody loses. If you love your child, really love him, then love him enough to get him mental help. It’s one short anonymous call. Praying for you this evening.

  13. Laurie says:

Jeff, I really like the way you think. You’re bringing up things that I never thought of. It’s too bad you’re not in Tn or I’d ask where the best place to hide someone was.

About this obsession thing. I’m assuming you’re a guy.. What would make a guy just take a girl? Wouldn’t he do it because he was in love with her?, but then if that’s the case I don’t understand why he would want to hide her away, or even kill her.

Only he knows what pissed him off and decide to take her that day. Maybe it was something he read on her FB page.

  17. NYCDude says:

Hello Blink, long time no write. Sad to say but to me it looks like the cops blew any chance they had here. Assuming a random attack here, rumors aside, that would be my deduction from all the info available after sifting through what seems most credible. Did they get into the woods with dogs ASAP after the 911 call? Looking at that densely wooded area, how could they possibly say with such conviction they don’t believe they’ve travelled across state lines? I keep reading it is very thick woods with underbrush… If they suspect an ATV was used, there must be a trail, no? Why can’t LE get in there with ATVs of their own and at least try to flush him/hopefully THEM out? Why on earth would you set up roadblocks A WEEK LATER? IF LE has a DNA profile on who they think is the perp, and they have a match to someone, they damn sure should be releasing this info. Didn’t anyone learn anything from the DC sniper case? Methinks they have a DNA profile, maybe even a hit, but not an ID. Also worthy of note, if they knew who they were dealing with, and thought this individual was dangerous, would they really be asking the public to go in there looking with this POS still at large? Looks more and more like the sad Harrington tale, where the cops have nothing, and are relying heavily on the public, and luck, to solve this. Whoever this is has done this before, and will do it again.

  18. Vern says:

I’ve got a theory running through my head trying to come up with explanations as to how the brother was originally not alarmed; the “leading” of Holly into the woods mixed with the statements from LE that he had reason to think she was OK, but LE thinks she may have been led under duress, the neighbour hearing a womans screams and calling 911, and the frequent mention of ATVs. Not to mention the “stalking” scenario put forth.

I think this guy lured her in a very premeditated manner. Brother heard no argument or struggle outside — yet there was blood in the carport. Brother saw her heading into woods with man he presumed to be her boyfriend.

I think this guy knew her routine. I think that he used animal blood (goose/rabbit etc) to make himself look injured (perhaps really did slightly injure himself) and waited in the carport for the time he knew she would be coming out of the house to go to class. Feigning injury … and then used a story such as “I’ve flipped my ATV back on the trail and my friend is back there hurt bad; please help us!! I can’t move him by myself.” Holly goes willingly into the woods (no screaming, no struggle) perhaps even liniing arms with the guy to “assist him” walking etc. Brother sees them through window and naturally assumes that it’s her BF.

According to many accounts, both the 911 calls were made within minutes of each other … one by the brother upon finding the blood and another by the neighbour upon hearing a female scream “Help me!!” “Help me!!”

If brothers call was approx 1 hour later, and so was neighbours, this infers that Holly had first opportunity to scream or first realized she was in grave danger well after she left the house and walked into the woods. Perhaps perp walked her well down through the woods to the “accident location” where an ATV sat at the ready, but no accident. Holly screams, neighbour hears (but Holly is far enough away from her own home now that screams are not heard there by her brother). Holly is then subdued and restrained on to ATV and disappeared. Possibly she could have been subdued and restrained on ATV prior to the screams being heard as well only just then getting an opportunity to scream.

I’d be interested in knowing which “neighbour” heard the screams – is it close to where her lunchpurse or other items were found? Close to an ATV trail?

LE is interested in ATVs … that’s coming from somewhere. perhaps tracks on a trail near Hollys home or the neighbours? Perhaps, during their chats with other citizens (or neighbour and brother), LE gleaned the info that an ATV was also heard in the area?

I really do not think that Holly’s brother or BF are involved in this; am just trying to come up with plausible scenarios that would explain the “hinky” details of this abduction.

Thoughts and prayers to Holly and her family; may she be found soon.

Watching the videos of HB’s mom makes me feel very sad. I do not believe she is faking…..This appears to me as if 1. Sheis camera shy. 2. Emotionally distraught!!!! 3. More then likely from her stuttering, she was given some type of med, Xanax(maybe)?

I know the camera shy thing is far-fetched but dang not everyone wants a camera/videocorder stuck in their face especially at a time like this!!!!!

There is never a more vulnerable time for a parent. I have spoken to many community members and some sources very close to this family and I am confident that they are absolutely devastated and in a word, helpless.

In defense of Mrs. Bobo..if she was taking some kind of meds for anxiety, and God knows she would need them, at a time like this..you sometimes are not able to physically cry. Anti-depressants also have the same effect on your body. The meds are intended to suppress your emotions..thus Mrs. Bobo would be distraught, but not able to produce any “real” tears. I know this all to well from personal experience.Judge not, until you have walked a mile in her shoes.Praying for Hollys safe return. She looks so much like Natalee Holloway..it’s surreal.

  24. ISpy says:

Just a thought on Mrs. Bobo. I can imagine if Mrs. Bobo (or any loving parent in this situation) were not medicated, she’d shatter into a million pieces. Moms are very aware of who depends on them for comfort, strength, encouragement, hope, and help. She’s just desperately trying to keep it together at this point, for Holly and everyone else. The absolute barest minimum, she’s in shock- a body’s defensive mechanism designed to “protect” the body organs by numbing the senses and producing a sense of disbelief (“this can’t be happening”). ITA with Blink, Mrs. Bobo likely has more insight into the who, as girls tend to discuss boyfriend issues with mom (particularly if they’re a Daddy’s girl). Mrs. Bobo’s probably been piecing little things together and is painfully aware. JMO

  25. Becca says:

I lived in Michigan a few years ago and we had a heavy wooded area in our backyard. My 8 year old (at the time) daughter went missing and was gone a total of four hours. Police, neighbors, everyone searched. I had to stay home in case she came back. I was making these strange gutteral, animal like noises that were coming from a place I hope to never visit again. I don’t think I cried the whole time. As minutes passed by, I became more and more hysterical and the sounds coming from me were just strange. I’d never not been able to get her. To not be able to get to your child because you don’t know where they are is the most helpless feelings I’ve experienced. I would kind of whine and those would turn to moans, it was weird and a bit out of body. Then people talk to you and you’ve got to focus and keep it together while at the same time you’re hysterical.

Turns out, one of my daughters friends had hurt her feelings. We had a crowd over building a goat barn and she took off, eventually losing her way. I was convinced something horrible had happened and would never have dreamed she would do such a thing. Had she not come back, and news crews came, I can only imagine what people would say as I was in the process of falling apart. I felt like an animal if that makes any sense.

It always baffles me when people judge reactions and decide what the look and actions should look like. My heart goes out to the entire Bobo family.

On a side note, I hadn’t visited that experience in awhile and remembered that the next day, all these people in the area said they got phone calls to their homes with a recording, describing my daughter as missing and the general area she was in along with a description. I don’t know if this was an amber alert, but I don’t think it was only because the criteria wasn’t there. This sure could have helped in this case.

Somewhere a long time ago, on this site, I recalled when my daughter was 2 and hid in her bedroom closet when I was putting her brother down for a nap. I will N E V E R forget that fear. It pales in comparison to what you went through, but I called my Mom screaming and hysterical and she said I went from a 33 year old to a 3 year old needing her Mommy in her mind and she never forgot it either.

It was years later I realized how ridiculous it was to call my Mom, 40 minutes away, except that it was not until Blinkette heard me on the phone that she uttered.. “I was jus hidin’ Mommy”.

My point- nobody has a freaking clue how they would react to a situation they perceive as real, or actually is real.

I have read on other blogs that some of Holly’s ex boyfriends are in the 18 year old age range. If this is true, I fear for her even more. Jealous, feeling rejected (real or percieved), testosterone-raging kids in this age range have potential to act out and make huge errors in judgement. Even kids who have been considered good up to this “breaking” or “crisis” point.

I also have read that all ex boyfriends and the current BF have been located and accounted for. Who knows what the truth is?

I am back to thinking TBI and their dogs should check those goose pits that are popular in the area. Seems like a place a person could be detained and hidden. JMO.

I’ve volunteered to help search in another missing person’s case, that is still unsolved Jennifer and Adrianna Wix – please look them up and help if you can, and when I heard about another missing woman in TN I read up about it and now have been like many others hoping, praying and reading every word looking for clues. I’d love to be out searching with them, but I can’t due to personal reasons. So I read and pray.

I want to share my thoughts and questions.

Clint saw Holly and ex-boyfriend walking into the woods arm in arm so to speak. Didn’t think anything of it until he later went outside because of a neighbor’s call and saw blood. I’m assuming the neighbor called Clint after 911 because another board stated as such, could be rumor. But it makes sense why he would go outside to look around when he first didn’t think anything of Holly walking into the woods with ex boyfriend. Unless he noticed her car still in the driveway and knew she had a test that day. Which has always bothered me about his actions. He had to have known she was on her way to school, so why not become atleast curious as to why she would take the time to walk into woods that morning with anyone???? Then again, it’s not important for the public to know or have the correct version of what he said and saw because the Police know. Also the 911 tapes could reveal the perp’s name. hmm

Question: Is the person Holly is with, the ex-boyfriend that rumor has it, threatened Holly in the past?
Opinion: I too wear contacts and am nearly blind without them and if I saw two blobs one of which I’m sure is my sister and another obviously male blob I wouldn’t just assume ex-boyfriend unless I had reason to think it was that person. Why I’m leaning toward the ex-boyfriend theory.

Clint calls Mom who is immediately upset because of who Clint said was with Holly, the blood and the amount of time that lapsed. Which explains why she appeared to assume the worst in her body lang and speech in the video. (God bless her) Clint calls 911. Neighbor has already called 911 because of screams.
Question: Is this neighbor south of the Bobo home? Because the closet neighbors are located south, which makes me think he headed south with Holly and how the neighbor heard screams.

Side thought: The Police put up roadblocks south of the Bobo’s home and where evidence has been found to speak with the ex and his family members? Which makes me wonder if the ahole aka perp headed south with Holly because he is more fimilar with the area and would feel safer/more secure in this type of crime/situation.

My knee is jumping because for the first time since reading about this case does most of what I read make sense now. Sorry SOBs. Reminds me of another family here in TN!

So basically, Holly was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend who has a history of threats against Holly and lead her into the woods and neither have been heard from since. The Ex’s family members may have been in contact and are “protecting” this guy and refusing searches of their property? (This happened in the Wix’s girls case too) Also their properties meet up to the Bobo’s?

Do the Police think this guy has already killed Holly and if they don’t find him he will commit suicide and hinder their chances of ever locating them both?

Or this guy has either killed Holly, or left her for dead in the woods-VOLNation board mentions this, went home, tried to sell his tires opps! And now him and his family are remaining silent while the State is upside down with grief and worry, not to mention what Holly’s family and friends are going through? Insert lots of bad words this thought brings to mind.

Some of my questions I’m sure can’t be answered.

I hope the fires of hell are singing the hair on their feet with every step they take!

Thank you Blink on Crime, from what I’ve read here and other places this all makes sense now. Please Lord let this be the day Holly comes home safe and sound!

Is this odd to anyone else-or is it just me?

T-shirts with scripture on them are being sold for the Holly Bobo Fund. The money will NOT go to the search fund, but rather, to Holly-so when she comes home she can take a vacation or buy something nice for herself.

So far, as of yesterday, 2500 shirts at $12.00 each have been sold–that’s $30,000!

    >>T-shirts bearing the favorite scripture of Holly’s mother were sold for the Holly Bobo Fund.

The proceeds are not going to the reward fund, but to Holly herself.

D’Lynn Burton, a close family friend and neighbor, helped sell the shirts. “Her mother asked me. When Holly comes home, she wants her to have some money so she can go on a vacation, or just treat herself with anything she wants.”

So far 2,500 shirts have been sold at $12 apiece.<<

Any new leads or news today from parsons? I got the impression yesterday after I was out searching all day that Sunday would be the last day they search.

  41. CLH says:

(I hope the fires of hell are singing the hair on their feet with every step they take!)

I’m speaking of the person(s) who took Holly and anyone helping them of course!

I found your first piece about this case after posting my comment. I’m wrong all over the place again. Also didn’t realize The Bobo family and friends read here. First, my heart goes out to you all. Second, I’ll watch how and what I write if anything else keeping in mind, yes her family and friends could be reading all this. I’m sorry if my words were hurtful in any way.

  42. jeff says:

i think she is still alive probley out in the woods in some broken down cabin from 1950 or somthing left over from miners

  43. Saxey says:

Oh lordy the fall-out about the t-shirt sale is already hitting the fan all over the web. You were so right Blink, about how things look. I really feel so sad for this family. I think they are aleady facing even worse news than Holly’s disappearance, and they were not thinking about how their words or intentions would be received by the public at large. If indeed their words and intentions were accurately conveyed by the friend that was quoted. But as a result of that one news clip, they are being strongly criticized. May be THIS is why silence is golden.

  44. Stars says:

    Blink,
Please explain crime 101 to me.
Why can’t LE get a search warrant to
    search neighbor’s property?

  45. jeff says:

perp probley wont talk or come in for a dna test so they can’t search property without evidence i think shes being held against her will i don’t think an ex would kill her unless he was on drugs or in a sucidal state at the time

  46. zeus says:

    yep.

    Thank You zeus.

  47. Viola says:

If the owner of the property won’t let police come and search the property are they allowed to go up there in a helicopter with sonar?

It sounds silly as I write it, but I was just wondering.

It is not silly at all.

In SAR field operations, one of the first things that is done is to do flyovers with specially equipped cameras in the search perimeter. Ideally, this is done with an analyst (geospatial) on board, but in the interest of time and coverage, drones are also used and the images analyzed on the ground.

Identifying obvious ground disturbances or anomalies on the ground or in water is much easier for someone who knows the landscape well, but comparison to the most recent satellite images available is built in to many programs today.

One of the burdens of this fine TBI, is to conduct their search while actively investigating, and part of that means doing so with an eye to protecting a successful prosecution.

We are dealing with a community where many of it’s residents are related to each other, own significant amounts of land and have great wealth. It can be an issue-

  48. Saxey says:

Our pesky constitution requires that LE show probable cause to obtain a search warrant.

  49. poppy says:

Are you aware of anyone ,related to this case, that has retained an attorney or is operating under advise of a lawyer?

    Yes

  50. Fiffer says:

I noticed while looking at google maps of the area and below the bible hill area there’s a cloud of smoke. I was wondering what it could be. Its a very secluded area that may have been missed in searching.

Still praying for a safe return
