Holly Bobo Missing And Endangered: Are Suspects Naming Themselves- Odd Dodd?

Darden, TN–

On the eve of the 4 week anniversary of missing Darden, TN nursing student, Holly Bobo, new investigative details are being learned about the case. Two unofficial persons of interest have taken their case “public” in a way.

While blinkoncrime.com was aware of this information, a decision was made to withhold it in the interests of the cases “active” status previously.

That was, until today, when one of the known person’s of interests in Holly’s disappearance, outed himself publicly.

Jonathan Dodd, son of Bradley Grafton Dodd, and Dena Logan Dodd, chose the Parsons topix forum to “defend” himself against what he termed “death threats”.

Blink, Editor In Chief of www.blinkoncrime.com, was able to confirm the poster on the topix forum was indeed, Jon Dodd.

Speaking exclusively to www.blinkoncrime on the condition of anonymity, an extended family member of the Dodd family, sheds more light on Master Dodd’s claims.

“.. Yes, that is definitely him. I have no idea how he can say he does not know the Bobo family, he went to Scotts Hill with Holly for a short time. Karen Bobo, Holly’s Mom, worked for Grafton Dodd, his grandfather, when he was the principle of the Parson’s junior High when it was still there, Brad and Grafton are on the school board, there is no way that is true what is said.

Jon Dodd High School List From His myspace

When he is saying something was stolen from the property, he is talking about the ATV you wrote about before, when I saw that, I knew you were aware of him.   Sandy  called the sheriffs department before she knew that Holly was missing to report that their ATV was stolen. Sandy is also the cheer leading coach at Riverside High, since forever, and she got into some minor trouble a few years back because she got caught rigging the tryouts. Nothing major, but everyone knew about it. Dena, his Mom, was a teacher at Riverside shortly after he got transferred, which is weird again.

Everyone in this family has been covering for Jon since he was a kid. I could not believe when he stabbed Brad with a scissors when he was about 8 1/2, there was a big cover up. Last year Dena moved to Gwinnett County because the grands let him get away with anything. He has a baby with Shelby Sellers and nobody really even knew about that until after.

Jon went to the great-grandparents for a while in Arab, Ala in 2006 after the girl was killed in the car accident that got his ass beat up when he said she deserved it, and again, nobody said a word. Brad and Dena started up that Boy Scouts thing for him and (redacted by blink).

What is he talking about? What does donate DNA mean? O that is totally him, I can tell by the “I get paid to hunt” or whatever. Speaking of hunting, the abandoned cabin that volunteers found, when Grafton was told, was when he refused permission for any other searches and they got a warrant. Grafton and Sandy were seen removing a mattress from that part of the property, the one they found in the place where the outhouses were used recently. (redacted) saw him in WalMart, he looked at her and said he did not do it, I swear. Really scary.

He (Jon) did not donate DNA, it was taken from him in the parking lot of Tuckers Diner, he did not have a choice. The LE came there and showed some papers. Grafton’s was taken too, but I don’t know were, I heard it was at the area of the Pugh property, by that Shayne Austin’s parents house.

Another doozie…”

The X Factor

A former boyfriend of Holly Bobo’s, Blake Barnett, is also doing nothing to avoid being scrutinized. It is clear from his facebook postings that he is aware of his “celebrity”, and that folks following this case, are reading.

While it does not make him a bad guy, we have confirmed that he has had a background of  alleged violence, in a former relationship with Holly Bobo.

He was the first name utttered by Holly Bobo’s parents, Dana and Karen, when they learned of her abduction.

That said, there is no known evidence linking Mr. Barnett to Holly’s disappearance.

Barnett is no stranger to violence, unfortunately, Blake, his brother and sister lost their parents Timothy and Janice in a brutal murder in 1993.

John Robinson, with actus reus assistance from his wife Kimberly, murdered both of the Barnett’s because they were after him for bounced checks.

Amelia, Blake’s little sister, was left in her crib for 48 hours before police found her while looking for the Barnett’s.  She survived.

There have been no official suspects or persons of interest named in the disappearance of Holly Bobo in 4 weeks.

There has not been a LE update to her case since May 2.

The search effort for Holly Bobo continues.

LE is still saying they have no strong leads and I read earlier today that Holly’s father searching as recently as yesterday.

I think this case is very much as it appears; at a standstill. I do not see any conspiracy, cover-ups, protecting certain people, etc. In many many cases I have followed, LE gets to a point where they think they know what happened and who is responsible, but can go no further without more tips or evidence, or a confession. I think that is what has happened here.

I think anyone with sense who lives in the area should feel nervous and be more aware, as should anyone in an area where a violent, unsolved crime has taken place, whether or not LE comes out and says so. Even if this was a crime against Holly, the person who did it may have developed a taste for such a crime and the longer he gets away with it, the more likely he could try it again. I do not believe that because LE does NOT warn the public that they should not consider themselves warned.

LE says they have no strong leads…that is a warning to me.

I saw a poster for Holly in a Memphis juvenile courthouse today and it referred to her as missing. It also said she might be accompanied by an adult male. Her poster was next to posters of “runaway and endangered” minors.

Constance, I agree with you 100%. Someone is out there who did something horrid. People need to keep their guard up and their eyes open. This crime has not only stolen Holly from her family and friends (the worst thing ever), but it has destroyed the trust and safe feeling of a small town. JMO I don’t live there.

Also, I see LE as having basically nothing to go on. If they knew ANYTHING 100% for sure, they probably could have made a legal move by now-an arrest warrant, something. I know they can only release some info for the sake of the investigation, but sometimes, untrained people have enough understanding to figure things out. Just because someone is not a trained LE officer doesn’t mean they can’t assist or bring in a new perspective or fresh idea that could be helpful.

Yet who do you let info out to and still keep needed info quiet?

It makes me so sad for this family that there is not much new in this case. I check back every day just to see if there is anything at all posted. I really hope her Daddy is not the one to find his baby girl. It just should not happen that way. So many prayers for this family.

Am I the only one wondering what the tbi is doing to bring Holly bobo home to her family. I see the laruen speir missing person case and there are so many people in the media for her its crazy. 10. Edward says:

Well Jeff, this is just my opinion. Both cases are the same. People witness them walking and in a flash they are disappeared without a trace.People would like to blame LE but in all truth “shit happens” and if we as people are not more diligent, it is going to happen and it is happening nation wide. The prosicutors office will not send the sheriff in for an arrest unless they believe they can get a conviction. America suffers from an illness of ignorance which appears almost incurable. The list of unsolved murders is getting longer. LE and the judicial system are frustrated, with all of their high pay and every gun, vehicle and gadjet, they can’t solve crimes unless they catch the bad person standing over a dead body with a weapon in hand and all of it on video. The Bad guys are winning, even when we know who they are.

So are we to believe this case has not advanced at all – since day 1?

I agree with some of what you say but I don’t think the bad guys are winning. Also you are right stuff happens, we can’t be with are sons and daughters 24-7 to protect them from bad people. My question was in regards to the tbi because not all le is like this. It seems like the parents and the tbi want silence in this case. I don’t know if its ignorance or they just want the credit in finding their own. Most bad people get caught sometimes its later but they do get caught. I won’t loose my faith in the le but I will question their methods if I don’t understand what their doing. I just don’t understand the methods in this case at all from the very first day til now. Just my two cents

  13. daydreamer says:

Blink just catching up and sad there is no news.Do you think this case
    is going cold?

  14. Edward says:

It has advanced from the LE prospective.
They have gathered information and interviewed witness and potential suspects and grid searched areas. They have developed an extensive case file. Anything is possible from here forward. When Holly shows up dead or alive there will be more investigation. When Morgan Harrigton was found they did all the required forensics and came up with DNA that belongs to a male.. That male has not been located yet and is yet to be named. His DNA matched a different crime.. They do not know who he is. Time is friend and enemy.
For persppective, One of my friends is a cold case detective and last year he closed a case after 23 years.

  15. chris says:

Like some other posters, I do not understand the Bobo vs. Spierer cases. In the Spierer case, they have the FBI, the University of Indiana, and some Texas-based horseback search team, and have released alot of info concerning the disappearance (items found including keys, cellphone, shoes, etc). Also, the parents are all over the news. Then, in the Bobo case, almost nothing from LE, and absolutely nothing from the family. Just makes me wonder WHAT the real difference is in these two cases…….

  16. constance says:

The difference in the cases between Lauren and Holly,in my opinion, is the families and circumstances. Lauren’s parents are out there, demanding people come forward, begging for help. Holly’s seem to be searching quietly on their own. Lauren vanished from a very large well-known college town right downtown. So her case is attracting a ton of attention. Kind of like Kyron vanishing from a school whereas other missing kids, we hear about little or not at all.

The circumstances of a case will put it in the media, but only a family can keep it there, in my opinion.

  17. Nancy says:

I feel that there must be something more sinister and involved that is not being released to the public. If you look back at all the high profile cases of the last 20 years or so, information was always released to the public concerning details of the crime, the method ,etc. I’m referring to the O.J. Simpson case, the Scott Peterson case, Drew Peterson, Casey Anthony. The public knew the general timelines of these cases, what evidence had been found, where it had been found, what the victim did the night before, etc. Their families, heck even the neighbors were on TV, in the newspapers, pleading for any information that might lead them to the return of their missing loved one. They begged for people to come out and help search for the missing person, not turned away and told not too. This can only led me IMO to the following conclusions:

    1. This is a very delicate and sensitive case, involving people of influence or leadership in the community that the LE has to untangle in order to get a conviction.
    2. The perp may be associated with the local LE, the judicial system, or even the clergy , making this case extrememly volatile.
    3. The perp has a position of authority and trust in the community and exposing them as the perp’s will shock the people that have come to trust them.
4.LE has all the information they need but do not want to release it for fear it will jeopordize the Bobo Family and Holly… thus the reason for their house being “gated”, people being asked to not search, and silence from the family.
5.Could it be possible that Holly was never abducted from their carport that morning, but that something happened the night before or during the night that was not reported ?
    6. Any information that has been released to the public – how do we really know it is true ? Was there really a person in camaflogue that led her into the woods ? Was there really blood drops found in the carport ? Did Clint really see his sister being led away ? Is all this a cover up for something bigger than the public can imagine.
I don’t know…. I am only putting these ideas out there, and they are only IMO. But, having followed other cases of missing people, this is not the MO of an on going invetigation, nor the logical procedure you would follow to help solve this crime. Was there even a crime committed ?

  18. jeff says:

I could see if Holly’s not missing anymore for the le and her family to be quiet. Only scenrio that fits that is if Holly was beat up so bad she don’t remember the perp or perps responsible. Then I could see the quiet and the guards outside the house. Just my two cents

The TBI knows that some people have information that they are not sharing. The question is how can they be convinced to come forward.

  20. perplexed says:

I wish the TBI tell me which people have information they are not sharing. Then, I could nag them until they gave in. My son tells me I’m really good at it. :)

Nancy says, how do we know, really know what was truth? We don’t! Have you ever been going thru something that you really didn’t want to talk to anybody about, and someone walks up to you and says, Hey how you? Tell me something, “What’s really going On”? And you know they hit the nail right on the head, and your still not going to tell them anything because it’s on a need to know basis. Well I don’t go out of my way to make people look bad when they have a personal problem or when they are going through something, but if you really need help you will talk about it! If you don’t want help or, “you don’t want anyone to know” you won’t talk about it. I have more.

  22. jkm says:

When mother, and father went in front of the camera for the first time in the begining of this case, I couldn’t help but notice just before mother went up to the microphone to speak she went to biting on her finger nails, and right away when realizing what she was doing pulled her hand away real quick as if to hide nervousness. I don’t know about anyone else but I have been through some grieving times of my own just like you, and the farthest thing away from my grief is nervousness. Grief is a very very strong emotion and it will overcome all other emotions including nervousness. Your heart is broke open and all those bleeding emotions are overcome you. I’m sorry to say I found that a little odd!

Apparently, money is not a motivating factor, which surprises me as $80,000 is alot of money to most people. So, I’m guessing there is a coverup, probably by family, to protect the perp. As long as they are in agreement to not talk, no one will. I’m not a prosecutor, but I don’t think you have a case without some type of cooperation from witnesses after the fact, without a body.
Maybe, what gets someone to talk is an offer of protection so that they can start a new life somewhere else. Or they get picked up for some minor offense and break down. Some people have no conscience, but I would like to think that most do and GUILT is a powerful feeling to shake off.

  27. Bonnie says:

IMO there are only two reasons that LE/TBI would choose to continue operating under such a deafening silence in the Holly Bobo case:
1.) Kidnapped/still alive- if LE/TBI believe that Holly is still alive, they will likely withhold all information and keep as quiet as possible, in hopes that her kidnapper will relax and slip up. Constant media updates and release of evidential information would not only give a kidnapper opportunity to stay one step ahead of LE, but also could cause enough distress and/or paranoia that Holly’s life could be put in permanent danger. As someone who often follows missing persons stories, I have noted that there is a distinctive silence that accompanies kidnapping cases where the victim is assumed to still be alive… This may be backed up by the fact that LE recently released statements during the 2-month anniversary of Holly’s abduction specifically referring to the case as a missing persons investigation and not a homicide.
2.) Knowledge of foul play w/o sufficient evidence- I realize that this is completely the opposite end of the spectrum, however if LE/TBI believed that Holly had been killed but did not have sufficient evidence to charge a perpetrator, they would be forced to keep quiet on as many facts as possible, in hopes of not damaging the eventual prosecution. These points of evidence that have been shielded from public knowledge can later be used during interrogation or trial as information that could only be known by persons involved in the abduction. This technique has proven effective in numerous recent homicide cases. I am an optimistic person and inclined to believed that Holly has been hidden away somewhere and could still be returned, it is possible that LE is continuing to label this as a missing persons case strictly to continue receiving any cooperation they can get. Once a case has been categorized as a likely homicide, persons of interest are all the more apt to involve lawyers.

I’m so sad that this case has gone past the two-month mark and can only hope that there has been much more progress made than we, the public, are aware…

  28. Cindy says:

Is it possible that the public searches were called off because Holly has been found alive?

  29. constance says:

If Holly was found alive, why would her father be searching for her every day? We’ve read that several times lately.
No, I do NOT believe she has been found alive, nor do I believe that LE knows where she is or who took her.

  30. jeff says:

Apparently there seems to be a lot of perfect crimes down in Tn. They do have a lot of missing person cases, surely everyone can’t be a perfect crime. I really do question the TBI’s methond in this case and the numerous missing person cases down there. I hope when this case ends the TBI explains why they were so silent in it. Just my two cents

  31. Cat says:

Well, that fact that there has been nothing but a whisper for the last several weeks is a bit concerning. The family has every right to remain a silent advocate, but from what I have read, they have refused some offers of assistance that may aid to further publicize the case. If little to no information was known, I would assume these avenues would be perused.

  32. Nancy says:

The direction of the case seemed to change Easter weekend when LE announced that they had found a key piece of evidence in the case, and called off all other searches. It is rumored that her cell phone was found, but without the sim card. Cell phones can still display pictures without a sim card, so I wonder if the perp took pictures of Holly and put them on her phone to prove that she was either still alive, being held hostage, or killed. That could be why all searches have been called off and LE is so quiet. There was information on that phone that gave LE reason to call back the searches and require the family to be quiet. JMO

  33. Nancy # 2 says:

Sorry for the confusion, there are 2 Nancy’s who are posting. I will post as Nancy # 2.

  34. chris says:

I’m willing to accept the theory that LE believes she is still alive. Can’t classify it a “homicide” unless you have a body or info that she was, in fact, killed. Reminds me of a case growing up in Memphis. Wife of a wealthy man went missing (kidnapped by treasurer of their church and Comptroller of City of Memphis). Several ransom notes and rendevous arranged, but perp chickened out with every meeting. She was missing for several months, supposedly held in the upstairs of a detached garage at the perps house. Perp’s wife claimed she never knew. Ultimately, she was raped and murdered, and buried in the perps back yard. My parents attended a cookout at his house, and were several feet from the burial site without knowing. Finally, a dog dug up the remains after the FBI realized he had also stolen about $150,000 from the church of which he was treasurer, and linked him to the ransom/crime. All along it was labeled a “missing persons” case until they found the body. Almost total silence the entire time. Hopefully, this will end before the perp takes it that far, if she is still alive. Sorry for the long story……just found it interesting.

  35. chris says:

Apparently, a book was written about the story I described above. “Fatal Friendship, The Search for Doe Roberts.” The husband was always the primary suspect. Not selling anything…..and I have no dog in the hunt, but read the description and decide if it’s similar to this case yourself. It happened in a small town outside of Memphis called Eads, TN. My parents were members of the church, and it shook the entire community. Needless to say, it was quite shocking when they discovered the perp was the church treasurer, husband’s business parter, and he had stolen money from the Memphis City govt. Easy to see how something similar could happen in a town as small as Parsons, TN.

  37. constance says:

I think what LE said about Easter was that what they found COULD be a key piece of evidence, or they hoped it would turn out to be…and I don’t think it did turn out to be nearly as helpful as they hoped.

I do not believe this is anything more than a missing persons case at this point, one that LE felt they would solve very quickly and soon realized that was not happening. Her parents still searching tells me they don’t know where Holly is, or in what condition. LE saying they have no strong leads tells me they don’t know who did this. I don’t think they will say much more, because what can they can that won’t anger the community? They are not going to say “we were wrong, we don’t know if this was a local or not, we can’t tell you that your daughters are safe.” No, they are not going to say that…

  38. LaurieO says:

I think one of the main differences in the cases of Holly and Lauren is that LE has released a pic of a truck that may be involved in Lauren’s case. Therefore, they want people to look for that truck so they can speak to the driver and passenger(s).

The other difference is, in my opinion, possibly the fact of simple geography. Southern people are often calm and talk slower and may be more likely to stay quiet if LE asks them to. Lauren’s parents are from back East somewhere and we northern and Eastern folks tend to be louder than some of the nice, polite, Southern people. Just a guess.

I am not criticizing either set of parents. I am just wondering if the background of each family is playing a role in this. But I do think the truck is a big piece of the puzzle, whereas the TBI has released no such info for Holly’s case.

  39. cali4nia says:

Interesting theory, Nancy. Makes sense that LE may have retrieved info from the phone that may have indicated Holly may not be alive. I hope not, but could explain the silence.

This could be some back woods hillbilly who has limited or no contact outside his home base a low IQ. How would he earn a living? possible raising of animals with some farming.? Or he is on disability or S.S. ? Or does he have a real job ?
It was planned crime, he laid in wait like a hunter and when the prey came within range, he abducted her. He had seen her shopping or something like that because he is anti social and probably living alone with his dogs and sheep. He has taken a wife.. How many people live like that within a reasonable range of this location ?

Or she was dead within hours as statistics would show.. ?

Everything I write about is my humble opinion.

  46. jeff says:

I have a question if the perp or perps came up to Hollys house to abduct her. I would imgaine if it was a home invasion or abduction they would have weapons. So there could be no possible way for them to know about clint bobo because I would imagine they wouldn’t want any witnesses if it was a local perp or perps. I really think to abduct someone so early in the morning you would have to work with them or be a b/f, ex b/f. Even the possiblity you must have talked to her sometime in the past that time before so you would know her every movement. Just my two cents

Morgan and Natalee’s parents are not from the North (as far as I know) and they were both very vocal from the start…

Constance, I was referring to Lauren Spierer’s case. And I was just guessing or wondering.

  48. constance says:

No I know, Laurie, I was just thinking of two very vocal women from the SE part of the country…so I don’t know if it is a regional thing. It may be more of a small town thing, for all I know…that the Bobos are taking their cue from LE and don’t know that they can reach out on their own and do not need permission from LE. Many families go against LE when they have a child missing. Michele Le’s family is refusing to believe that Michelle is dead, although LE has named the case a homicide and are searching for her and have Mark Klaas up there right. Some families just don’t know to grab onto the ways they can get help, or think it does not apply to people over 18.

As far as Lauren’s case, her parents are showing their desperation, they believe her friends are not telling the truth and are not afraid to say so-good for them. They are speaking from their hearts and showing their pain for all to see. I only hope they get an answer although I do not think it will be a happy one. But not to know clearly is NOT okay with the Spierer family.

  49. jeff says:

    constance

The biggest difference is the families are out there speaking on the behalf of their missing daughters. This family in this case for whatever reason isn’t asking for help or seeking help. I know its been said the tbi advised them not to speak but I am wondering if its their choice not to speak. For example I don’t think the tbi could tell the bobo’s not to do a show like Nancy grace if they wanted to. I really think the silence in this case tells a lot about the case this can’t be standard in a missing person case. Shelly mook went missing down there and there has been more info about her case then Holly’s that has gotten out. Just my two cents
