Holly Bobo Missing And Endangered: Are Suspects Naming Themselves- Odd Dodd?

Darden, TN–

On the eve of the 4 week anniversary of missing Darden, TN nursing student, Holly Bobo, new investigative details are being learned about the case. Two unofficial persons of interest have taken their case “public” in a way.

While blinkoncrime.com was aware of this information, a decision was made to withhold it in the interests of the cases “active” status previously.

That was, until today, when one of the known person’s of interests in Holly’s disappearance, outed himself publicly.

Jonathan Dodd, son of Bradley Grafton Dodd, and Dena Logan Dodd, chose the Parsons topix forum to “defend” himself against what he termed “death threats”.

Blink, Editor In Chief of www.blinkoncrime.com, was able to confirm the poster on the topix forum was indeed, Jon Dodd.

Speaking exclusively to www.blinkoncrime on the condition of anonymity, an extended family member of the Dodd family, sheds more light on Master Dodd’s claims.

“.. Yes, that is definitely him. I have no idea how he can say he does not know the Bobo family, he went to Scotts Hill with Holly for a short time. Karen Bobo, Holly’s Mom, worked for Grafton Dodd, his grandfather, when he was the principle of the Parson’s junior High when it was still there, Brad and Grafton are on the school board, there is no way that is true what is said.

Jon Dodd High School List From His myspace

When he is saying something was stolen from the property, he is talking about the ATV you wrote about before, when I saw that, I knew you were aware of him.   Sandy  called the sheriffs department before she knew that Holly was missing to report that their ATV was stolen. Sandy is also the cheer leading coach at Riverside High, since forever, and she got into some minor trouble a few years back because she got caught rigging the tryouts. Nothing major, but everyone knew about it. Dena, his Mom, was a teacher at Riverside shortly after he got transferred, which is weird again.

Everyone in this family has been covering for Jon since he was a kid. I could not believe when he stabbed Brad with a scissors when he was about 8 1/2, there was a big cover up. Last year Dena moved to Gwinnett County because the grands let him get away with anything. He has a baby with Shelby Sellers and nobody really even knew about that until after.

Jon went to the great-grandparents for a while in Arab, Ala in 2006 after the girl was killed in the car accident that got his ass beat up when he said she deserved it, and again, nobody said a word. Brad and Dena started up that Boy Scouts thing for him and (redacted by blink).

What is he talking about? What does donate DNA mean? O that is totally him, I can tell by the “I get paid to hunt” or whatever. Speaking of hunting, the abandoned cabin that volunteers found, when Grafton was told, was when he refused permission for any other searches and they got a warrant. Grafton and Sandy were seen removing a mattress from that part of the property, the one they found in the place where the outhouses were used recently. (redacted) saw him in WalMart, he looked at her and said he did not do it, I swear. Really scary.

He (Jon) did not donate DNA, it was taken from him in the parking lot of Tuckers Diner, he did not have a choice. The LE came there and showed some papers. Grafton’s was taken too, but I don’t know were, I heard it was at the area of the Pugh property, by that Shayne Austin’s parents house.

Another doozie…”

The X Factor

A former boyfriend of Holly Bobo’s, Blake Barnett, is also doing nothing to avoid being scrutinized. It is clear from his facebook postings that he is aware of his “celebrity”, and that folks following this case, are reading.

While it does not make him a bad guy, we have confirmed that he has had a background of  alleged violence, in a former relationship with Holly Bobo.

He was the first name utttered by Holly Bobo’s parents, Dana and Karen, when they learned of her abduction.

That said, there is no known evidence linking Mr. Barnett to Holly’s disappearance.

Barnett is no stranger to violence, unfortunately, Blake, his brother and sister lost their parents Timothy and Janice in a brutal murder in 1993.

John Robinson, with actus reus assistance from his wife Kimberly, murdered both of the Barnett’s because they were after him for bounced checks.

Amelia, Blake’s little sister, was left in her crib for 48 hours before police found her while looking for the Barnett’s.  She survived.

There have been no official suspects or persons of interest named in the disappearance of Holly Bobo in 4 weeks.

There has not been a LE update to her case since May 2.

The search effort for Holly Bobo continues.

    @ GeorgiaDad,
I have to agree with your thinking that Clint is the “second victim” in this case. He hasn’t done himself any favors or cleared up any confusion during the few interviews he was present and I can see why some folks can’t rationalize his behavior. I think this is really sad and it makes me wonder just how long LE will let this go on (if it is true)? I mean really? Will this poor kid have to shoulder this the rest of his life if she isn’t found?

    @ Blink,
Topix posters stalking you? I know I shouldn’t be surprised, considering the source, but I always am! LOL!

Story on Youngstown tv news station about Holly Bobo and the creep Tony Calabrese, yesterday, 2/10/12:

    http://www.wfmj.com/global/story.asp?s=16911479

He is under investigation for obstruction, as he should be. It is one thing as a private citizen to advocate, and to be supportive via the many forums and mediums to do so.

It is another thing as a private citizen to interject oneself into a case, and for those of you that follow my work in other cases, I have been very vocal about how inappropriate that is. Early on, I have even caught a few claiming to be editors at BOC, or affiliated with me or SM in some way.

Yet, you have people that wish to play investigator without any skills or basis to do so, and risk obstructing or interfering in an investigation. In this case, I specifically told an individual claiming to be dealing with him that THEY should expect that would happen if they did not cease such actions immediately, and I was in contact with the TBI over my concerns. What kind of idiot plays around in the open investigation of a missing woman who has likely met with foul play?

I cannot tell you how much time LE ends up having to spend on BS like this, instead of generating and following real leads with the hopes of a resolution for the victim and their families.

It galls me to no end how some think the online communities discussing cases are there opportunities to make up fake identities, scam people and spread false information and never get called on it.

As one can see in the case of Mr. Calabrese, LE is not amused and I expect similar reactions in the future of other cases.

Is it odd to everyone else that a sheriff from AL would be writing a presser about a case this is not his that the TBI will not even speak on? At any rate, I continue to believe Holly will be recovered locally, and a local suspect will ultimately be charged with this crime. I remember writing a piece about this poor girl last Easter morning.

  5. Scott says:

@ Blink – odd? totally. But then again, what about this whole thing has not been odd? At this point, as long as they are making any kind of progress, I wouldn’t care if they called in Elvis to help…

Nor would I, it just speaks to the credibility of the information was my poorly worded point.
    More than odd, I agree.

No. 7 – This article references searches near Lexington is that in Kentucky???? or is there a Lexington, Tennessee??? Please clarify if you now.

  8. chris says:

Yes, there is a Lexington, TN. Just a few miles from Parsons/Darden where she lived. Lexington is the largest town bt Parsons and Jackson, TN.

  9. chris says:

I guess my question is, why wasn’t the AL sheriff and his mounted search party not contacted earlier? Seems there may have been some info or suspicion that made the local authorities contact somebody from Alabama……..

Regardless, after months of absolutely nothing….any news is good news.

  10. constance says:

Maybe the LE unit in AL had equip TN did not have…? Who knows. But I will believe there is movement in this case when it happens. Right now, I think they just undertook an extensive search and marked off areas searched for future reference.

  11. Cindy says:

#9 Lauren, I agree, what is going on? A sheriff says new evidence found and TBI says not so fast, no new evidence? It is very odd to say the least. But, I have my Lexington’s straight now which is more than I can say about these news releases. So, do you think TBI is hiding new found evidence? If so, why?

  12. Tiffany says:

This case has been full of contradictions since day 1. The very first press release was revised several times for Holly. Dragged, pulled, guided, walked. And mom was there, mom wasn’t there, etc. It’s insane, I know it’s not important that we understand everything about this case as long as TBI knows what they’re doing, once again I hope it pays off, this beautiful girl deserves more, I can’t help but feel disappointed about the way this particular case has been handled publically.

  13. Jane says:

Jeezie…it’s difficult to believe significant articles of evidence were found after all this time. I think the only thing we know for sure is that Holly Bobo is missing. All these innocent people continue to vanish, their families turn to LE to help find their loved ones and it seems as though they too are at a loss and have no idea what to do or where to begin. It all makes you wonder? Prayers for the Bobos and countless other missing persons.

  14. Flynn says:

@Jane I agree that’s difficult for LE, so many people missing, but this case has been a mess, at least publically, we don’t anything for sure, just that Holly is missing and that her lunch bag was found. I don’t know why LE waited that long to search again, we know about the eastern found, they called off searches, didn’t search for almost 9 months so why are they searching again after almost a year? maybe a tip? and also….one clue away to crack this case, the police said that, back in april, that implies that they must have a suspect, a good idea of what really happened to this girl, not just that they think she was spirited away of the area, etc. That’s why I’m upset, I know it’s hard for the police with so many people missing, with few clues, but they made us believe that this case was going to be solved quickly, (even Blink believed that this case was solvable, I don’t know if she still feels the same way) instead we just got more confusion, and silence for over 9 months, if I find this hard I can’t imagine how her family must feel, many locals are also upset with TBI, and their contradictions, all that we can do is pray even though is not enough.

  15. Mary says:

It seems the area that was searched, Bible Hill and Yellow Springs prominately belongs to J.Dodd. I don’t feel that this needs to be a big secret, being that surely the Dodds are aware of it! #19 Drew apparently is totally sick of the whole thing , has lost all interest in going out , is not dating and just stays home. Holly was the love of his life and I can see why he is so forlorn. he does go out to search with his friends apparently.

  21. Flynn says:

@mytakeonit poor Drew, we all know how saddened and heart broken Holly’s family must be, but most of the time some of us forget about Drew, I’ve read on repeated occasions that he’s going through a hard time, even his mom states it, praying for all of Holly’s loved ones. I understand his behavior, he does search for her, just because we don’t see it in the media some people think he doesn’t do anything, he seems to be a really private and quiet person, and I can’t help but feel so sad for the whole situation, eventually everybody has to move on, Clint has to go back to college, and Drew move on with his life, as well Holly’s parents. I know it’s hard but time keeps on passing and it doesn’t look good for beautiful Holly. I hope I’m wrong and she’s alive somewhere. Praying.

  22. Jack says:

Blink – Does the text that was sent to Karen from Holly’s phone hint at who is responsible? You made earlier comments to the effect that LE and the family know who is responsible – do you still believe that? If so, how frustrating that nearly a year has passed with no arrest or even mention of a person of interest. What gives?

No and yes, I believe LE has a strong suspect(s). I cannot say if her family knows that, I am willing to bet LE is not able to tell them anything at all after the difficulties they had with extended family members and friends repeating things that were case sensitive.
    B

  23. Jack says:

Also, I assume LE fingerprinted the phone and the other items recovered? Did they find any prints other than Holly’s? I know you probably cannot give many details – just still thinking daily about her case. Every single morning when I go to get into my car, I think of her, and I am much more vigilant because of her.

To my knowledge there were the prints of the “finder” and Holly’s, but no discernable others- that is the best info I have from that time.
    B

  24. Cindy says:

No. 24. Blink… “extended family members and friends repeating things that were case sensitive”. I believe that the Bobo’s are good-hearted, trusting people and really didn’t realize what damage that could be done to Holly’s case by having “loose lips, sink ships” actions, as my mother would say. May an arrest in this case come soon and bring Holly back to her family.

The above link was from no. 7 above. The search conducted by the Dekalb County Sheriff’s dept. from Alabama.

“Jon went to the great-grandparents for a while in Arab, Ala” – from Blink’s article on John Dodd above.

Is there any correlation between the two? I thought it was odd that the equestrian search team was from Alabama, but maybe it’s not, maybe it all makes perfect sense.

    TIA for your reply… :)

Mary I do not know which thoughts specifically you are referring to, but my opinions on this case are all in bold in the comments- and to date, no, they have not changed.

I have serious concerns that interference in this investigation will result in prolonging it indefinitely.

So it ain’t so, this crime can’t go unsolved. I’ve been following all of these months hoping for a break. Holly is younger than my daughter but now that I have grandchildren, it just breaks my heart that this has gone on as long as it has.

What gives with the TBI? Haven’t they started over at least once with their investigation?

  38. Alex says:

    Dear Blink,

After a long time, I’ve stopped to ask something that comes to my mind just recently. Please forgive me, if this point has been discussed earlier.
My question and point is regarding Holly’s flip flops. I wonder isn’t it hard to drive with such a thing on? Also, I want to know isn’t it strange that a college student specially a girl, goes to college in flip flops?
Hope this case cracks very soon.
May the Lord make her parents strong and patient, Amen.

Lol, unless there is actual snow on the ground, you will find me in flops every day I do not have meetings or going for a run. Yes, they are worn constantly, unless Holly had a lab that day, or she keeps her white crocks in her car or locker, they are acceptable attire.

As I understand, she had a test.

  39. Kristi says:

  40. Alex says:

Thanks dear Blink, so much for your kind reply.
That was a point that’s come to my mind, and it is solved by your comment of “acceptable attire”.
I am not from US and just find it a bit strange for a college student, specially a girl in an academic place but I think the atmospheres are different in different places.
Also, thanks for your such an accurate attention and let a good discussion be about such a hard case.
Hope she would be found and the Lord helps her lovers to endure such a pain, Amen.

    ——————————————————————–

Alex, I just thought I’d share with you some of the insane attire that I see here in the US-a man in a bathrobe and tennis shoes in Wal-mart, my neighbor kids in their pajamas (little girls) playing outside all day, and young teens and adults wearing pajama pants out to the store.

Flip-flops are common, but it seems wearing pajamas in public is becoming the in thing. Not that I approve!!

Lol, I am old school. If I allow my kids to have a PJ day ( usually poor weather and we are having a down day from running all over creation from family outings or sports) they would never be allowed outside! What would the neighbors think?

I thought everyone wore bathrobes to walmart.

LOL, Blink. Well, at least if they are in robes, they are covered. As for the neighbors in PJs outside, all I can say is that my neighborhood puts the fun in dysfunctional. My girls flip if the meter man walks through the yard and the curtains are open AND they have on regular clothes.

Praying this investigation is solved soon. God bless Holly and her family.

  43. MandyVZ says:

Just a note on the flipflops, from a Tennessee girl… they are pretty much part of the spring/summer uniform around here (accompanied by denim cutoffs and a man’s wbite dress shirt in .y high school days), and while they can be difficult to drive in, that’s generallyresolved by driving barefoot.

  44. Becca says:

I really hate the fact, that nothing has been solved and she hasn’t been found. It is almost like it is at a complete stand still. But I am sure the investigators are still doing their job searching and investigating. It just seems like, it hasn’t went any where since she first went missing last April. I think some huge mistakes were made at the very beginning of this case, that has led to this not moving forward progressively.

  46. BeccaD says:

Blink do you know any reputable blogger covering the Rebecca Zahau case? I wish you would. I love your website and how you stick to the facts.

Within a week, the DA jackes up the reward to 80,000…..

I’m not stupid… but it seems to me like, open your mouth money…!!
