Holly Bobo Missing And Endangered: Are Suspects Naming Themselves- Odd Dodd?

Darden, TN–

On the eve of the 4 week anniversary of missing Darden, TN nursing student, Holly Bobo, new investigative details are being learned about the case. Two unofficial persons of interest have taken their case “public” in a way.

While blinkoncrime.com was aware of this information, a decision was made to withhold it in the interests of the cases “active” status previously.

That was, until today, when one of the known person’s of interests in Holly’s disappearance, outed himself publicly.

Jonathan Dodd, son of Bradley Grafton Dodd, and Dena Logan Dodd, chose the Parsons topix forum to “defend” himself against what he termed “death threats”.

Blink, Editor In Chief of www.blinkoncrime.com, was able to confirm the poster on the topix forum was indeed, Jon Dodd.

Speaking exclusively to www.blinkoncrime on the condition of anonymity, an extended family member of the Dodd family, sheds more light on Master Dodd’s claims.

“.. Yes, that is definitely him. I have no idea how he can say he does not know the Bobo family, he went to Scotts Hill with Holly for a short time. Karen Bobo, Holly’s Mom, worked for Grafton Dodd, his grandfather, when he was the principle of the Parson’s junior High when it was still there, Brad and Grafton are on the school board, there is no way that is true what is said.

Jon Dodd High School List From His myspace

When he is saying something was stolen from the property, he is talking about the ATV you wrote about before, when I saw that, I knew you were aware of him.   Sandy  called the sheriffs department before she knew that Holly was missing to report that their ATV was stolen. Sandy is also the cheer leading coach at Riverside High, since forever, and she got into some minor trouble a few years back because she got caught rigging the tryouts. Nothing major, but everyone knew about it. Dena, his Mom, was a teacher at Riverside shortly after he got transferred, which is weird again.

Everyone in this family has been covering for Jon since he was a kid. I could not believe when he stabbed Brad with a scissors when he was about 8 1/2, there was a big cover up. Last year Dena moved to Gwinnett County because the grands let him get away with anything. He has a baby with Shelby Sellers and nobody really even knew about that until after.

Jon went to the great-grandparents for a while in Arab, Ala in 2006 after the girl was killed in the car accident that got his ass beat up when he said she deserved it, and again, nobody said a word. Brad and Dena started up that Boy Scouts thing for him and (redacted by blink).

What is he talking about? What does donate DNA mean? O that is totally him, I can tell by the “I get paid to hunt” or whatever. Speaking of hunting, the abandoned cabin that volunteers found, when Grafton was told, was when he refused permission for any other searches and they got a warrant. Grafton and Sandy were seen removing a mattress from that part of the property, the one they found in the place where the outhouses were used recently. (redacted) saw him in WalMart, he looked at her and said he did not do it, I swear. Really scary.

He (Jon) did not donate DNA, it was taken from him in the parking lot of Tuckers Diner, he did not have a choice. The LE came there and showed some papers. Grafton’s was taken too, but I don’t know were, I heard it was at the area of the Pugh property, by that Shayne Austin’s parents house.

Another doozie…”

The X Factor

A former boyfriend of Holly Bobo’s, Blake Barnett, is also doing nothing to avoid being scrutinized. It is clear from his facebook postings that he is aware of his “celebrity”, and that folks following this case, are reading.

While it does not make him a bad guy, we have confirmed that he has had a background of  alleged violence, in a former relationship with Holly Bobo.

He was the first name utttered by Holly Bobo’s parents, Dana and Karen, when they learned of her abduction.

That said, there is no known evidence linking Mr. Barnett to Holly’s disappearance.

Barnett is no stranger to violence, unfortunately, Blake, his brother and sister lost their parents Timothy and Janice in a brutal murder in 1993.

John Robinson, with actus reus assistance from his wife Kimberly, murdered both of the Barnett’s because they were after him for bounced checks.

Amelia, Blake’s little sister, was left in her crib for 48 hours before police found her while looking for the Barnett’s.  She survived.

There have been no official suspects or persons of interest named in the disappearance of Holly Bobo in 4 weeks.

There has not been a LE update to her case since May 2.

The search effort for Holly Bobo continues.

its not so much people think that they do these crimes. Its what people do and say after them that cuz people to think why they did this or that. People do commit crimes and go to a great deal to cover them up but its what they do after their crime that gets them caught most of the time. I don’t live down there i don’t know all the facts but there is a reason these perps are suspected and when all the details come out people well know

Jeff – I think you are so right. If a crime is committed, it’s usually someone’s big mouth that gets them caught. Given the statistics you just presented and what little we’ve been told, I also would guess it’s someone she knew.

    Blink,

What is being done by LE to “find” Holly?

  7. Karey says:

I have been reading about the Holly Bobo case since the first day. I’ve read on various sites and just got caught up here (much easier here to separate fact from rumor). I don’t remember if it was here or elsewhere that someone stated Clint Bobo was home from school when Holly disappeared. I wanted to verify if this is true; is Clint normally away at school and just happened to be home for Spring Break that week? I had wondered since the beginning whether the perp didn’t expect anyone else to be home after the parents left for work, and this scenario would reinforce that idea. IMO, the perp(s) knew the family well enough to know when Holly was normally home alone (perhaps one of the perps routinely drives past the house each morning on the way to work, and has seen Dana and Karen leaving). I doubt that the perp(s) would have attempted the abduction had they known there would be a potential witness.

I’m also curious about the chimney-like structure in someone’s yard on the FB page:

    http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=199215516789890&set=a.199215463456562.53474.197838680260907&type=1&theater

Blink, do you know whose property it is on? JD’s family? There is a large concrete slab in front of the structure. I’m wondering if it could be a storm shelter? Blink, you mentioned the possible existence of an underground tunnel. Has LE already investigated this structure?

Being from the Parsons area, I just wanted to tell you I think you are in line with the direction this case seems to be going, but I do wonder your opinion of something. Do you think this was a sudden stupid crime of passion – or was this premeditated & completely planned out in advance?

I don’t care if this is published or not – I just wanted your opinion on this one thing. You do a great job Blink! Back to reading….

I think there is a minimum amount of planning to this crime, but I think they never planned on Clint being home that day.

When this is over, if ever there was a stranger I wanted to hug, it would be this young man.
As far as motive, I could speculate but I choose not to.

The changes to plan following that “encounter” will be the undoing of this suspect or suspects.

i have always wonder if the reward being at 80000 dollars is because they suspect more then one person involved that is a lot of money. So le must know something maybe the perps are in debt or owe someone money So they figure make it so high so one person rats on the other

  14. jeff says:

It would be interesting to know if holly was running late that morning and maybe the perp or perps figured should would be gone. So when she came out of the house and stumbled upon them they freaked out. They argued with her then hit her took her because she saw their faces. If a perp new that she was going to be gone and no one was going to be home at their house thats a perfect scernio for a robbery. They would know holly’s schedule because one of the perps might work with her. They would have no clue the brother was there because he came home the night before. the orginal story that came out was a home invasion so what if it was a botched one. I am sure the perp or perps had weapons

  15. Alex says:

Blink said: “When this is over, if ever there was a stranger I wanted to hug, it would be this young man.”

Oh Blink, how beautiful you said, I absolutely agree with you, in all of these dark days, how much pressure this young man – Clint Bobo – and you cannot imagine the sense of blame he has in his heart about many “what ifs”. Pray for Holly’s return not only for her mom and dad and herself but also, for Clint who will be under torment for rest of his life if something goes wrong for Holly.

In any kidnapping I have followed I haven’t read about any guards. Also, did the Attorney General call in TBI? I’m to the understanding from the TBI website the Attorney General calls them in unless it is drug related. Do you know if that’s the case? I worry about other girls this could happen to if the perp is still free. No tellin what he is capable of!

Decatur County can call in the TBI themselves to assisst.

    Jeff,

I think if you do a Google search, you will find it is actually closer to 24%.

For example, I found data similar to the following at three different sites. Granted these stats primarily apply to child abductions/kidnappings. But is there really any reason to believe they would be that much different for a 20 year old?
    —-
Based on the identity of the perpetrator, there are three distinct types of kidnapping: kidnapping by a relative of the victim or “family kidnapping” (49 percent), kidnapping by an acquaintance of the victim or “acquaintance kidnapping” (27 percent), and kidnapping by a stranger to the victim or “stranger kidnapping” (24 percent).

Jeff…I believe that the reward was raised by Gov. Haslem because D.A General McAdams requested it based on the fact that they prob believed Holly was still alive and hoped it would stimulate tips from people who would otherwise not want to get involved. I honestly doubt that it had anything to do with there being more than one person involved…I mean I doubt that any person involved in this would be collecting a reward(moo).

    Can you comment?

Not on an unsubstantiated rumor, but I can tell you in other cases I have worked on, the Secret Service has the best assets in the business for cell ping triangulations and deleted unallocated hardware clusters in the world.

how often does a governor step in and raise a reward. Even if they think a person is still alive it don’t happen often. Not to mention blink said 80 000 was the right amount for this case. Might be a bigger fish involved in this crime and they need info on this person. Its also possible the perps involved were controlled by a bigger fish. i agree anyone involved in a crime is going to call and try to collect reward money. However blink said some guy logged in on someones myspace page after they weent missing. Criminals do dumb things after the fact. Think about this if le came down and collected your dna would u go on to crime sites and run your mouth. Would u tell you family and friends to do it.

In my opinion I still don’t think that was the reason behind the Gov upping the reward but again who knows????

  28. michelle says:

Going back to the award topic….I’ll have to agree LE would not up the money for someone involved to tell…more so, someone who might know more than others and might not talk otherwise

  29. jeff says:

i am going to say this but i hope that she is found alive. There is the possiblity that they abducted her becasue she was a witness to the robbery. They take her to a secondary location, they leave her there go tell someone who has ties to past crimes and is sadistic. That person probley being older then these perps is the one who got rid of her. This guy then tells the other perps to go spread the evidence around or he tells them based on the search areas where to put it. Thats why i think this is a complicated case you have the intial crime then a secondary crime then a cover up. I think the reward money was upped to get that guy

  30. Saxey says:

In a case like is one, and Kyron’s, where the abductions took place in broad daylight, with at least one eyewitness who wasn’t aware he/she was witnessing an abduction at the time, it defies my logic to not have quick resolution to the case. However, IF both of these abductions were somehow tied to other, dare I say bigger crimes, and thus parallel if not more sensitive investigations, it would make the easy answers much more complicated to come by. Is that why these 2 cases in particular are so frustrating?

I was so invested in Kyron’s case at the beginning, waking in the middle of many nights early on to check online to see if he had been found, since local LE predicted they would have it wrapped up in a week. Obviously they had no idea how many varmits would be scurrying for cover as the rocks were unturned. Now in Holly’s disappearance, I have run out of data on my monthly plan with 2 weeks to go, I guess because I am so glued to my screen scrounging for any news that sheds light on what could have happened to her. How can these 2 people have vanished so completely in plain sight of others??? Only very tangled webs could keep them hidden when so many resources are being used to find them.

    At least that’s what I think…..

    ——————————————-
I’m not surprised. We generally associate violent crimes with urban areas because that is where our country’s population is most concentrated and where there are more sources of communication. I know of some small rural towns that have become overrun with drug activity, but that’s not where the focus of LE or the media is. Someone once told me of a man confessing to her that he and another man, who lived in a small TN town at the time, murdered about a dozen men who had gang-raped the one man’s daughter.

When the perpetrators of these crimes in small towns are from wealthy, influential families, it is difficult for LE to act. I think that’s why the TBI was called in early in Holly’s disappearance. I also think that Holly’s cousin, Whitney Duncan, effectively used her semi-celebrity-status to get the case into the media, which has put more pressure on LE.

The young men who arranged Holly’s abduction weren’t meticulous in their planning because: 1) they are barbaric mountain boys (or hillbillies, as someone else said) who have renounced the laws of society and live instead by their own ego-centric principles and 2) they had not anticipated the extent of the investigation into Holly’s disappearance since they escaped punishment for past deeds.

I want to remain hopeful for Holly’s safe return. It makes me so angry when the rejects of society (really, those who reject the laws governing civilization) destroy the lives of those who have so much to offer society.

I hate to sound negative, but politics could always play into this too. As far as the reward amount goes. I have seen many kidnappings/missing persons cases with substantial rewards, although generally they are a collection of contributions. The reward for Laci Peterson was a half million dollars. Certainly a large reward encourages people to talk, but talking isn’t enough. Stipulations are pretty clear on how a person becomes eligible for a reward. Just moo

  35. daydreamer says:

A local has stated they personally saw one of the perps nail a squirrel to a board and skinned it alive while it was still alive.
This shows a person who is very sick and capable of evil without
thought for what they have done. What can this lead to? I found this
article:”There is a big difference in hunting and enjoying animals
    being tortured”

    Serial killers and Animal Abuse:

As a child, serial killer and rapist Ted Bundy—ultimately convicted of two killings but suspected of murdering more than 40 women—witnessed his father’s violence toward animals, and he himself subsequently tortured animals.

Earl Kenneth Shriner, who raped and stabbed a 7-year-old boy, was known in his neighborhood for hanging cats and torturing dogs.

David Berkowitz (a.k.a. “Son of Sam”), who pleaded guilty to 13 murder and attempted murder charges, shot a neighbor’s Labrador retriever.

Brenda Spencer, who opened fire at a California school, killing two children and injuring nine others, had repeatedly abused cats and dogs, often setting their tails on fire.

Serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer impaled the heads of dogs and cats on sticks.

  36. daydreamer says:

What I don’t understand about animal abusers is how the family or relatives can possibly know about this and not do anything about it.
How is that possible? If it were my child there would have the next seat in the psychiatrist’s office ASAP and I would be right there with them.I am not a perfect parent but I can tell when something is seriously wrong and this would be a red flag for me.

I kept thinking about part of Blink’s response to the question “why was Holly taken?” Blink listed several possibilities on the thread about ATVs and wheels/tires: She said “It was time.”

All of sudden tonight I wondered what would make April 13th the right time?

–Like others have mentioned, I believe there was spring break from April 21-25; and graduation seems to be May 20th. I’m not sure I even have the right county linked below, but it could be a general guideline.

    http://www.decaturcountyschools.org/20102011.html

–Was (one of?)the perps planning to enter the military right after graduation?

–Or leave the area before the summer?

–Did the abductor have a court date scheduled not long after April 13 (say, for excess motor vehicle speeding tickets) after which he’d lose his license for a while and it would be too risky to drive?

–Please excuse me if agriculture, soil preparation, soil temperatures at various planting depths, or planting times have already been discussed. Maybe my eyes (and brain) glazed over when trying to read about it before tonight. But I wondered if the timing was related to fields having been plowed (or another method used) to loosen the soil and provide an easier place to put remains under the earth? Or before there is human activity in the fields? I know absolutely nothing about agriculture, so this idea might be laughable! At some point the perps might be seen or heard while on wooded trails from farmland being planted? I’m aware there are many other, better, spots to place remains. It’s just if a person’s remains are placed where the ground is already disturbed, it wouldn’t be as obvious as finding a newly disturbed spot just off-trail in the woods.

    http://www.whitetailinstitute.com/news/index.php?topic=328.0

Another “out there” thought: if there was to be funeral scheduled at a cemetery near a perp’s house, could there have been a way to place remains beneath another person’s coffin? I’m reading too many crime books probably, but since reading about young men digging up grave sites in the past to sell gold (teeth) crowns, I just wondered at that possible coincidence.

If lime is used to prepare the soil for planting, could lime have been used in greater quantity on a human’s remains to speed up decomp?

  47. Ragdoll says:

I think this is a result of a lifetime of enabling that ended with Holly’s abduction. Hence, Blink’s reference to a mentor (JMHO…not Blink’s).

This is not unlike Casey Anthony. The circumstances may differ but the result is the same. These parents find it easier to cover up or make excuses for their children’s behaviour rather than deal with the problems. Saying no to someone who’s never dealt with the consequences of their actions….and calls an abandoned shed/cabin an ‘R’ house explains it all. This is how criminals are bred (in most situations).

Holly’s abduction reminds me so much of Christine Sheddy. Small town corruption, thugs who think they’re above the law, and people who’ve probalby been victimized/bullied on some level by these self entitled, arrogant losers.

Tenacity and perseverance is a lot smarter than small minds. The case will be solved and the perps of Holly’s demise will be punished accordingly. Even if it takes years. They won’t get away with this and to that I am certain!

To the trollers, I suggest you read about Christine Sheddy, Chris George and Joran Van Der Sloot on this site, for starters. Then wipe those smarmy expressions of your faces and start seeing the light. These kids are headed for jail…and for a long long time.

Please just let it vaporize before I develop a full-blown case of OCD as evidenced by the numerous times I have checked on it. (It’s on the post with your grandmother’s sampler.)

As always, thanks for what you do for the missing.

Lol, will take care of it.

@daydreamer – the misguided belief that a psychopath can be fixed is a large part of what creates that problem. No amount of therapy, counseling, or punishment can change was is born broken.

I just read about this and you are correct.I never realized that,I thought if handled early it could be treatable.I also read where it is inherited as well.No wonder we have so much crime. This is so sad for the parents that learn this about their child.Almost like a death sentence.
