Search for Isabel Celis Leads To Cadaver Alert In Home And Local Landfill- Family Barred From Home
Tucson, AZ- Missing since Saturday morning around 8 am, six year old Isabel Celis was believed to be taken from the safety of her bedroom sometime after 11PM on Friday evening.
After Isa’s Mother Becky Celis left for work as a pediatric nurse at Tuscon Medical Center her Father told police he went to wake her at about 8am and she was not in her bed. The blinds in her room were askew and her window was open.
The screen to her window had been removed. Sergio Celis’s call t0 911 has not been released.
Early this morning, the FBI deployed a scent tracking dog and a cadaver canine to the Celis home. The family was then asked to make other living arrangements for the near future as the dogs produced evidence requiring further investigation.
Police Chief Roberto Villasenor would not reveal what was found at the home of first-grader Isabel Mercedes Celis.
Police have not said what that is, but sources close to the family not willing to be identified have confirmed to www.blinkoncrime.com that the specially trained cadaver dog alerted to the detection of cadaverine.
The home is now being treated as a crime scene.
Police have not ruled out the parents as possible suspects, nor have they commented on whether or not the residence of a sex offender in the immediate neighborhood has been searched after obtaining new warrants today that have been sealed. Another residence on the same street as the Celis family was searched this morning.
Late this afternoon, investigators headed to the landfill where the trash from the neighborhood was emptied Saturday prior to police having an opportunity to secure the scene.
Isabel’s disappearance is eerily similar to that of 10 month old Lisa Irwin , missing from her home since October 3, 2011 and has not been found.
Becky and Sergio Celis, Isabel’s parents have not spoken publicly about their daughter’s disappearance.

These people are hispanics living in a community that is loaded with those that are not in this country legaly. The father, needing extra income, could actually be preforming dental work on those that are afraid to go to a regular licensed dentist.
There is something in this family’s lifestyle that is creating the strange behavior we are observing. LE is no stranger to this type of behavior. They are doing their job and keeping known information away from the public while they check out all the facts.
I meant “I think the wall would hide that”, not wouldn’t. Sorry.
Another interesting “fact” that has arisen from the parents wearing the rosary beads during the “public plea” to find their daughter was that mom states on her earlier Facebook entry that she is not really religious, and yet, the other day, her Facebook shows scripture quotes and mentions what curch they attend. To me, it speaks volumes as to the public perception that they are trying to create of the family, which will (allegedly) be found to be a facade for perhaps other nefarious activities.
Right now, with the known information in this case, I would be opposed to any public search efforts in this case and let LE work their leads and schedule any search activity accordingly.

My family is catholic. We do not necessarily “practice” all that our religion teaches. We do however use catholocism as our foundation of our individual spirituality. Our children are confirmed, etc. We are very spiritual, but religious? Not necessarily in the pure sense of the word…
Otayyy, I’m gonna ask again! Am I still the only one who thinks the tweaky son and father staying near the Celis home need much more looking into? I asked this a couple pages ago and I believe WpgGirl provided the link I was looking for. Why were they trying to enter the Celis’ courtyard while they weren’t home and LE is on video asking them that? Me thinks they are thieves but who knows? They remind me of the weird neighborhood peeps who are always wanting to help you or borrow something just to scope out what’s in the garage, tool shed, or inside the home. Can anyone find out who they are and their criminal history if any?
I was wondering if anyone had called a pshchic; and I found one on google who spoke of Isabel. of course, I don’t believe them, but she said the child was alive and well and the police would find her in about 3 weeks. ha ha.
Also, I thought I read on FB that the mom worked in the ER room.
Sgt. Pacheco said the video, provided by a company near the Celis house with a 24-hour surveillance camera, was not time-stamped. Police have requested video from the evening of Friday, April 20, and the morning of Saturday, April 21, and the company is working to provide that video, Sgt. Pacheco says.

I started thinking about this, and I tried to find any info on a once missing Tucson girl named Frayser, and couldn’t. Then I thought well, maybe her name was different at the time. Then I thought, well maybe they used to live elsewhere, but I see she even went to high school in AZ. The reason I was looking was to try to see if they found who abducted her daughter and what the circumstances were, but I can’t find a story on it at all. Odd, the way she said “about 3 years ago”. If my child was abducted I’d remember the exact second, I would at least say something like in November 2009, or whatever. I’d also know exactly how many days she was missing. This just sounds weird to me. Anyhoo, can’t find the story, but was wondering if they perhaps had mutual friends. Maybe someone else would have better luck.

A man entered a house in the middle of the night and molested a girl half an hour north of the Tucson home where Isabel Celis disappeared last month, possibly providing clues in the case of the missing 8-year-old who vanished from her bedroom over a week ago.
Police say a white man in his 20s entered a house in a neighborhood in Arizona’s Pima County around 2 a.m. Monday and went into a bedroom where three sisters, aged 6, 8 and 10, were sleeping. The intruder reportedly molested one of the girls before fleeing the scene.

I did not see any other car visible. If she was left asleep in the car, it would be in the Garage? I assume she would be safe.

The video, which was not date- or time-stamped, was taken by a security camera at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Road. The video shows the group walking overnight April 21, hours after the search for Isabel had begun.
Police now are working with the security company to collect video footage from overnight April 20, which will include the hours before Isabel was reported missing, Pacheco said.
Investigators will have to pore over footage again in hopes of finding clues into Isabel’s disappearance. The mix-up is not a major setback in the investigation, Pacheco said. It is not known how long it will take before police have video from the correct night, he added.

Since this video is from the church, I’m assuming the video from Moore’s company and the other company nearby, that pointed directly at the Celis’ home, showed nothing. I don’t know how this video thing from the church works, but at least we know once they are done poring over the tape from the church, they will know when they hit the right night/morning this time, because they’ll run into the same video from the following night. Seems like it would be easy to do, unless, it’s conveniently “missing”, but what do I know.
@Jane, I think it unlikely that someone in a protection program would be a performing opera singer. But, I understand your reach for something, anything, to explain any less effort than the most to find her. It’s probably just that most of us can’t understand self-protection instincts that are stronger than our instincts to protect our young.
@T. Ruth, Tammy’s daughter was missing in August 2009, as a teenager. Different surname. Last seen with ex-boyfriend. Not sure how it ended, but info still in her myspace blog. Imo not related except for empathy toward those with missing children.

I found it odd how the Mr. Celis was ducking the cameras on his way in to the courthouse. The dog violations seem so minor, why hide?
How sad if Isabel was legitimately abducted and her parents are avoiding the cameras for fear that their own personal indiscretions would be exposed.

Justice, yesterday this article caught my eye immediately. I am struck with the fact that this offense occurred less than a half hour away from the Celis’s home. My gut tells me this is more than just coincidence.
T. Ruth, wasn’t there a story in the first days of Isabel missing that there was a creepy guy watching kids at a playground. I wish I would have documented all that I have read because things keep coming up and then I can’t recall where I heard them. i am thinking that a relative said that there was a strange guy lurking around watching kids at a playground. I also remember a reporter saying that Isabel was fearful of being kidnapped. I just don’t have a source for it.

Has the church been searched? St. Joseph’s is not particularly old as it was built in 1953 (http://www.stjosephtucsonchurch.org/history_2.html) but churches often had small or back rooms or nooks and crannies in it that could be used to hide someone who is alive. I am not trying to pick on the priest or staff of the church, just wondering if someone with keys might be in on this.

T. Ruth, if you go to google maps (http://maps.google.com/) and search for St. Joseph Church, Tucson, AZ, you will get either a satellite or map image of the area. If it gives you the satellite pic, switch to map view in the upper right hand corner of the pic. You can see that there are 3 parks really close by. Maybe it is one of those?

It looks like they bought that home at the top, with higher interest rates, just before market in AZ imploded & house probably lost half its value. And couldn’t refinance with much lower interest rates because they were probably $175,000 under water in equity. Let’s not hold real estate woes against them

Day 11: Police suggest stopping afternoon news conferences

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) – During the 2:00 p.m. briefing, Tucson Police Lt. Fabian Pacheco said police are considering whether or not to continue the daily media briefings. They would be taking the recommendations from those who were at the briefing and determine whether to continue the briefings or release information through press releases.
Police are not seeing the release of the incorrect video as a set-back in the investigation. They have seized the server from the surveillance company. By doing so, police can look at all video and release video for any individuals they would like to question.
Tucson Police are asking anyone with video from Freedom Park where Isabel Celis played little league to review their home video and share it with authorities. Any video acquired could help in the investigation. Police are working with the little league coach to go through the roster of parents. ***As of Tuesday, they have not received any video.****
Investigators have received over 400+ leads in this case.
Lt. Pacheco met with the Celis family to discuss the requests from the media for interviews. He said that police are remaining in “constant contact” with the family. He also said that he urged them to speak with the media because this would help keep the case of Isabel Celis in the forefront of the community.

THERE IS BREAKING NEWS IN THE CASE. HLN says police detectives along with the father of Isabel just raced up to the home. Detectives are now saying no more pressers due to sensitive information. I hope this case will reach a conclusion soon but I am not optimistic about the outcome. Again, I put all my faith in those dogs.

Blink … glad you brought that up. It has been bothering ME, but I haven’t been able to figure out quite yet how exactly a broken down car really fits into this situation, except LE seemed to think it was worth searching and taking potential evidence from.
My big question is this:
IF the Celis’s actually paid some ridiculous amount for their home, (which is odd in itself because according to one of the ex-FBI agents who often discusses the case on NG who used to work that area says is a known area for drug deals, etc) how does a dental hygienist and a pediatric nurse afford such a house? I can’t imagine Sergio’s opera singing nets a whole lot more than his regular salary for his other job, so how does one explain that? Did the Celis’s come into a lot of money within the last few yrs or something? If not, makes me wonder how someone can afford a 3800 sq foot house like that. Did they have some kind of business on the side as well? Just asking questions … it doesn’t make any logical sense to me.

TUCSON – There has been activity at the house where missing 6-year-old Isabel Celis lives – her mother and father visited the house separately, accompanied by law enforcement officials, and a young boy is currently at the house.
Sergio Celis arrived at the east side home early this afternoon with several detectives, according to News 4 Tucson’s Lupita Murillo, who has obtained video of this occurrence. The father remained inside the home for about an hour, then left.
Murillo then witnessed Rebecca Celis, Isabel’s mother, enter the home, also accompanied by law enforcement officials. After the mother left, a young boy was escorted inside the house by law enforcement.

Investigators later brought another person into the home who appeared to be a boy in his teens.

Looks like the Mom, Dad and Brother were questioned separately inside the home which seems appropriate to me regarding the investigation.
Well LE let us know today that they have the family seperated. Why?
Hummm interesting afternoon. I still say the family is not involved but I have concerns about the outer circle of the family.
Once the timeline for getting reports back came about they seemed to stop the searching.
A few days ago they were in Mexico and today back in the home.
The parents would never allow LE to have access to their sons if there was any suspicion at all they were involved.
They are verifying movements of who was where and what they were all doing Friday night.
We might just get a break in this case.

My sentiments exactly. The way this entire case has been handled where LE has been speaking without speaking. Allowing everyone to know they are doing their part. The family came out one time to say theyre not involved. IMO- they know who, most likely why, and now they need to find where. Blink said it well about another case the girl was alive until LE knocked on the door. What will happen if she is alive with a leaking case?
Actions speak louder than words.
Regarding those saying the family has been discouraged from speaking to media. Tons of thought on my part has been analyzing why? if innocent would anyone say this if not true. Several times we mistake what has been said even after we have sat there reading the lines in black and white. Anything from do not speak to media regarding timeline, do not speak of evidence…etc. can easily have been mistaken for not speaking.
I want to know how they had the tape dates mixed up? Does not seem plausible considering Mr. Moore’s statement to NG. Could LE realized the video showed more than they were willing to put out there?

It is my understanding that the tapes that LE released had nothing to do with Mr. Moore’s tapes. They were down the block a bit, and belonged to St. Josephs Catholic Church, which would amount to the streets behind the Celis’ home.
Here’s my question, NG’s website shows Mr. Moore’s video cams encompassing the front of the Celis home, AND Office Max’s video cams directly shot at the back and back side of that home. So, assuming that LE also has Office Max’s videos an Mr. Moores, which we know they do. Is it possible that those video cams show NOTHING? (Also, note that Office Max’s video cams have never been mentioned by LE.) Which, of course, if they do, would make LE believe that the window screen stuff is just some B.S. (maybe someone set it up in advance or maybe it’s been messed up since the last time someone decided to go out the window?). OTOH, maybe the back camera (Office Max’s) isn’t set low enough to tell whether or some little girl crawled out that window herself, because of the wall in front of it? I’m thinking LE is way ahead of us on this one, with the help of some ironically placed video cams. Here’s my quandary, it appears Moore’s tapes would show the front of the house, and Office Max’s the back, so how did Isa disappear? The Church would show exiting the back alley. Ballpark, as in never made it home? IDK JMO Just prayers for this little girl.
(Anyone here old enough to remember the old Alfred Hitchcock program where the little girl disappeared into an ever narrowing hole in the wall beside her bed? I have never forgotten that one, and moved my little twin bed away from the wall that night. Yeah, okay I’m old. )
