Searching For Bains IS NOT In Vain: FBI Ups The Reward, Places Mayes ON Most Wanted List- Mayes Thinks He Is Their Father
Now facing aggravated kidnapping, first degree murder and felony flight charges, Adam Christopher Mayes has been named on the FBI Most Wanted Fugitive List.
Earlier this week, the discovery of Jo Ann “Jodi Bain” and her eldest daughter Adrienne Bain, buried on the property Mayes recently rented in Mississippi resulted in the arrest of his Mother Mary Frankenfreak Mayes and his matrimonially status- challenged wife, Terre.
All In The Family
This afternoon Scarey Terre’s charges were upgraded to include first degree murder.
Adam Mayes, who was a prior brother in law to Jodi’s husband and father to the girls, Gary, is allegedly responsible for abducting Jodi, Adrienne, Alexandria and Kyliyah from the home in the early morning hours of April 27th.
Adam does not have a criminal history.
Gary Bain did not hear the family leave, and assumed that the girls were in school. When he did not reach Jodi later in the day, he alerted police.
The cause and manner of death of Jodi and Adrienne Bain have not been released, although murder charges have been filed.
However, probable cause warrants for the arrest of Adam and Terre Mayes, say Jo Ann and Adrienne Bain died at their home in Whiteville, TN.
Warrants say Mayes killed Jo Ann and Adrienne in an adjacent garage to the property at 8590 Whiteville-Newcastle Rd in Hardeman County because Mayes believes Alexandria and Kyliyah are HIS DAUGHTERS and they were set to move to Arizona.
A multi-state and multi-agency manhunt is under way for the location of Alex and Ky Bain.
In a press conference this afternoon, the award for the location of the Bain girls and the whereabouts of Adam Christopher Mayes has topped $170,000.
Mayes’ mother-in-law told The Associated Press that Mayes thought he might be the girls’ father and it caused trouble in the marriage to her daughter, who’s jailed in the case.
“She was tired of him doting on those two little girls that he claimed were his,” Josie Tate said in an exclusive phone interview with The Associated Press on Wednesday. In an earlier interview, Tate’s daughter Bobbi Booth said Teresa Mayes suspected her husband was having an affair with Jo Ann Bain.

Do you think Mayes had been planning this for a while or that he just snapped because the Bains were moving to Arizona? I read these little girls have severe asthma. They probably both need immediate medical attention under the circumstances. What an effn freak. I hope these little girls are found alive. I just can’t imagine… Prayers.
WTH? HIS DAUGHTERS. Is this a manifestation in his mind or is their some paternal evidence to substantiate this belief. Terre was resentful of the attention doted on the girls.
Terre was in the garage when Jodi and Adrienne were killed.
Terre helped him transport the girls and the two corpses to MS.
Terre is left behind when Adam Mayes flees with the girls.

Another freak family that cannot keep things straight. Thinking the only solution is to take a life or in this case lives. The older girl probably tried to defend her mother.
We don’t have anything regarding the vehicle in which they may be traveling. I would think that the two women in custody could be persuaded to reveal that information. The amount of time that has passed would allow Mayes to have reached the West coast or even cross into Mexico.
My prayers for the safety of the two remaining children. I pray that he will not harm them or that he will not place them a situation where others may.

Hopeful thoughts on this . . . Adam, the father, has maybe gone somewhere to share something special with the daughters. Maybe somewhere he has experienced before or has always wanted to.
Sounds like he was in misery with wifey and the girls were his joy.
Putting aside what happened in TN, hopefully his intent is to leave the daughters with a good memory of him.

Thanks, Blink, I’ve checked here daily for some insight into this case. Now that it’s been revealed that the murders took place at the Bain’s home and that Teresa was there, I have so many questions.
In all the pieces I’ve read, Adam Mayes’ presence in the Bain’s lives has been referenced and never once was Teresa Mayes’ presence alluded. My take-away is that unemployed Adam visited the Baines frequently without his wife along. And the reports state that Adam was staying with the family as they packed for their move West, not; Adam and Teresa were staying with them to help pack.
- Did Gary Bain know that Teresa was in town, too?
- How did Mayes lure/take 4 people out of the home after Gary was asleep and extinguish 2 lives on the property without enough noise to raise alarm? (According to a previous report; Gary awoke after the girls would have left for school and wasn’t alarmed until he couldn’t get JoAnn on her cell and the girls didn’t return from school.)
- When was the move/drive West planned to commence?
- Was JoAnn employed? I mean; did Gary think she was at work or did he just think she was out-&-about all day while they were packing for a move across country?

You know, I see Adam’s change in his appearance more as cleaning up and doing his best to be as presentable of a father for his daughters as he can.
He rented a trailer for them to stay in, he obviously cares about their well-being like a good father would and should.
The Florida air would not be good for the girls, so hopefully he comes to realize that their mother’s priority was after all the well-being of their daughters when she chose Tucson.
Many mothers and fathers with asthmatic children relocate to Tucson. Yes, sometimes it is only the mother or father, but the siblings are always, always kept together. Their emotional well-being is also a priority for any loving parent.
Again, hopeful thoughts that Adam will come through and do right by his daughters.
I have no idea if these children are actually his daughters, but every source I have has told me HE thinks he is. I pray they do not know what happened to their Mom and sister- the thought of that terror is staying in my throat all day.

Kind of off topic here, but I hate to tell you, kjazzyjazz, that I think this is the law in a lot of states. they can’t bust you for looking because it is possible to accidentally stumble on the stuff (though unlikely if you ask me), but only if you download it, send it, print it, etc. I have heard this is the case in many states, but I am no expert. there should be a zero tolerance policy on this stuff.

I am wondering if these little girls know exactly what happened to their mother and sister? Maybe he hid that from them so they would go willingly and not suspect anything foul? He keeps them from watching the news. Maybe he told them it’s a fun vacation for them. I am just wanting to easy my mind that these darlings didn’t witness a terrible killing of their mom and sister.
These criminals do not sound like the sharpest people on the planet. He will trip up eventually, more likely in order to get a pack of smokes and some bologna than in an effort to seek medical attention for the girls. I also question the voracity of the “wife” and mother’s testimony about how the killings took place. How convenient is the story that he killed the mother and the other little girl. That doesn’t make sense to me. It makes more sense that the jealous wife killed them. And I can just imagine the conversation that takes place while the lady-folk are watching him dig holes for the bodies–in thier own backyard!!! Errrr… no one will find them there. Goodness gracious…

Take a minute to review the probable cause warrants Blink included in her article. These two little girls, Alexandria and Kyliyah, DID NOT go willingly. Hopefully, the girls did not witness anything, such as the murder of their mom and sister, but they knew something terrible was happening. Hoping they are found soon, safe and sound.
Do you think the Bain’s were moving to Arizona to try to distance themselves from Adam? Maybe the asthma is way to tell Adam that they’re moving because it’s best for the kids. I think Adam was starting to get a little too close.
are they checking all houses around the wooded area they believe he may be in? what if he went into someones home, killed them, and is now staying there with the girls?
He is going to go somewhere he knows, and my guess is we will find this was a well planned event, so I honestly do not know what intelligence they have to point to a possible location.

Has anyone seen any reports about the husband, Gary, speaking out? I’m surprised he hasn’t given a statement yet. I understand he’s grieving, but he didn’t even give any statements before they found the bodies of his wife and daughter.
On this one I might suggest that he not speak to the public. If this guy is believing these girls are his daughters, and he was taking them from “him” I don’t think that would be helpful and I am guessing LE and the FBI have told him that.

Looks to me from the convenience store shot that he is trying to grow out his goatee into a more complete, normal looking beard. I think we are assuming that they are not attempting to handle this as they would in any sort of kidnapping/hostage situation. I am not, I believe their tactic in this case is to try to reach out to him directly if those means are available. If not, the priority is on using intel to locate him.

Blink – ok I see your point that maybe the husband shouldn’t be speaking out at this point, it may just get Adam angry. I’m assuming Gary is helping out LE as much as possible? If they’ve been friends for so long, maybe Gary knows of some places that he might like to go.
I’m also curious if the school tried calling either parent to ask why the kids weren’t in school that day? I thought that was a typical procedure these days…
I read that Gary’s oldest daughter and his granddaughter were also staying in the house the night of the kidnapping. It’s hard to imagine that 4 people were taken from the house, 2 killed in the garage, and no one heard anything?

Trying to keep who is married to whom or otherwise related to whom in this case straight is making my eyes cross.
The FBI and U.S. Marshal’s Service have offered up to a $100,000 reward for information leading to Adam Mayes’ arrest. Authorities said Adam Mayes also has connections to Texas, North Carolina and Florida and could be headed to Arizona. Mayes may be using the alias of Christopher Zachery Wylde or Paco Rodrigass, his Facebook profile name, according to the FBI.
Mayes is 6-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair and recently cut his own hair.

I think these girls know their mom and sister are dead, it’s leverage to keep them from trying to escape, if they are still alive. QUESION: In the survailance video that has been released, there is a small white female standing beside him. I’m sure LE has looked very closely at those photos, they girls hair looks dark, and they mentioned him the changing the girls appearances. Has LE ruled out, as far as you know, that the girl standing next to him in the pink shirt isn’t one of the two abducted?

The report of ties to Texas is interesting. There are certainly areas where the air is dry enough to help the girls with the asthma problem.
IMO this guy has been planning the kidnapping for a long time. The Guntown, Mississippi location was just a place to hide the bodies.
This entire family has mental issues. They could have lived in West Texas or Southwest of San Antionio. That entire area is considered to be desert. Often the relative humidity is 10% during the summer and early fall.
We don’t know how connected the girls may be regarding the internet. He could have destroyed any phones or other equipment that would have given them a link.
I am praying they get lucky like the little Gronne girl in Idaho. He will bring the girls into a place of business and someone will recognize them and keep him distracted while the police are getting there.
Dylan and Shasta Groene case haunts me like no other. Imo, Jett Duncan is one of the scariest predators we still do not know all of his victims.
Only hardware to date that the FBI could not crack.

He is rather a young man to be needing viagra if the rumors are true he was asking around for the drug. Also I was wondering where is AM’s father? Has any information been released about him? Mamma is in jail as is his wife, where is his father?

I just read on CNN Murder and kidnapping suspect Adam Mayes found dead by a SWAT team in Union County, Mississippi, multiple law enforcement officials tell CNN. Alexandria Bain, 12, and Kyliyah Bain, 8, were found alive. I am so glad the girls are OK,and what a horrifying experience for them.

WREG/Memphis is reporting Adam shot himself when game wardens stumbled upon the three of them. The girls are alive and were being transported by ambulance to the hospital. I can’t believe this isn’t all over the news… I hope these young girls are okay and know they are now safe.
