Isabel Celis Abduction BREAKING NEWS: Docs Show Blood In Bedroom Police Eye Family AND Neighbor

*LIVE TONIGHT On THE DANA PRETZER SHOW Blink Discusses The Isabel Celis Case*

Clink To Listen

After 550 plus pages of what amounts to discovery in a likely criminal case, Friday afternoon yielded a window to the world of the investigation of missing 6 year old Isabel Mercedes Celis.

Isa, according to the document release consisting of 6 packets of PDF files of police incident and timesheet reports  was last seen by her Father who kissed her goodnight and dimmed her bedroom light after showering and braiding of her hair by her Mother Becky in anticipation of her baseball game the next morning with the Diamondbacks.

Isabel’s baseball Jersey number is #4.

The “goodnight kiss” was the first time the public has heard the actual version in his words containing the account that he was the last person to see Isabel before her disappearance as well as confirm that her window was closed when he closed the door.

Certainly not unexpected to hear a loving father’s tender goodnight detail to his baby girl, but most unexpected was the revelation that on Isabel’s bedroom floor was an obvious area of blood.

While it has not been disclosed whose blood was located on the floor of the southeast middle bedroom located on E 12th St, Sergio and Becky Celis were required to provide blood samples under a warrant obtained a few days later.

The Usual Suspects- FAMILY

It is clear from the released reports that a significant amount of time and effort has been spent on investigation of Sergio Celis and Becky’s brothers Bob Rodriguez and Justin Mastromarino as previously reported on www.blinkoncrime.com   Mastromarino’s own niece Chelsea and her fiancée Danny Cline told a shoe salesperson and subsequently investigators that they believe he is a drug dealer and owes someone a great deal of money and Isa was taken for some purpose to satisfy that debt.

A truck owned by Bob Rodriguez  was removed by warrant from in front of the Celis home without warning and a towel which tested negative for blood but reacted to luminol was taken into evidence as well as a pocket knife from its contents.

Blood evidence was found in the driver’s seat of the Toyota Corolla mostly driven by Sergio Celis and the red inoperable Acura as well as a stained shower curtain and white hat.  Keeping in mind, Tucson PD released some documents that are heavily redacted as they are required via a freedom of information act request, by any standard; the completeness of the response teams and first responders to the scene and the surroundings was swift and MASSIVE.

Exactly one week earlier on April 13th, Sergio Celis received several criminal citations to include dogs running at large, without proper vaccinations and licenses.   Celis pled not guilty during an arraignment on April 26th and is due back in court on June 4th.

At the risk of inserting a glib remark in the middle of such a macabre subject matter- Who let The Dogs Out?  Who, Who Who?

Who prompted the report to Tucson City Police in the first place?  Was someone attempting to have the animals removed from the residence a week earlier?

Do all the dogs belong to the Celis’s or are they housing them for a family member who now lives in an apartment and cannot keep a pet?

Perhaps this is an indication that what looks to be a fortified and nearly impenetrable without detection abode is, well, not so much.  In a video of Isabel singing and dancing to an Abba song (undated but presumed recent) it is clear that the living room window, which shares the same outside wall as the window next to it separated by the interior wall Sergio references in his 911 call, is clearly open.

Celis LR Open BOC

On May 11, citing a previous CPS involvement in December of 2011 and “to provide time and distance” between Sergio and his two sons,  Sergio Celis voluntarily agreed to a no contact order after a CPS meeting which was instigated by the detectives working on Isabel’s case- due to “information they learned in the course of the investigation” into Isabel’s disappearance.

What prompted the concerns exactly has not been made public and the order remains in effect.  Becky Celis and Sergio’s sister refuted any allegations that Mr. Celis was anything but a model dog owner, Father and Husband at a public vigil for Isabel.

No doubt Sergio Celis’s use of the word abducted and his inappropriate lack of hysteria during the 911 call has made him a defacto suspect if only in the minds,  thoughts… and blogs of those following Isabel’s case.

It is not the only oddity.  During his first interview at the scene with police,  Sergio states he is aware of the registered sex offender down the street, he knows him, and he does not believe him to be involved.

Is that a natural response of a parent who has knowledge of the sex offender status of a neighbor when he has just learned his child is missing?

That said,  in the interviews of Sergio Celis’s employers who have known him for several years, he was found to be an exemplary employee, model husband and family man whose advice one dental surgeon sought often for his own personal situation.

It is standard protocol for detectives to conduct a parallel investigation of the victims family,  in this case where a 6 year old child seemingly disappears from the window of her bedroom sometime between midnight and 6:30AM,  with three dogs on the premises,  a stranger abduction within the walls of what looks like a mini Alamo replica defies statistics and logic.

Or Does it?

Neighborly Concern

Matching footprints in the soft dirt around a green electric box along the south wall of the Celis home,  on the top of the electric box and on a gas meter box – all along on the southeast perimeter of the wall leading to the alley ( S. Jefferson and E. Cooper) were found by a first response mobile team member and described as “wolverine” pattern as opposed to standard police issue work boots.

Alicia Sturdevant, the infamous neighbor lady who heard male voices outside Isabel’s window as well as barking dogs at 6:28 AM the morning of her disappearance,  gave that account in her first interview adding to her credibility of a fresh witness account.   Someone posting from another neighbor’s face book account  belonging to a Chris Pike, an adult child sibling to a playmate of the Celis children seems to think Ms. Sturtevant’s account is untrue,  but has not specified why.

By  approximately 8:30AM the morning of Saturday April 21, Tucson Police Department has been on scene for several minutes, has completed initial interviews with the family, incident command has been established and officers begin the immediate knock and talk canvases in the hopes of finding Isabel, or information useful to locating her.

They begin next door and proceed door to door,  upon reaching the home of Michael Dimitriov, who informs the officer that he is a RSO, one officer is requested to wait there for a detective interview, and requests to search the home and cars.

At approximately 8:40 Officer Bustamonte  is greeted at the door by Alicia Gregory.  She states she and her boyfriend went to bed at midnight but heard nothing unusual.  According to the officer’s notes,  he only speaks to Alicia, in fact, he spells her boyfriend’s  name phonetically as he heard her say it: Nathan McDonell.

Mr. Nathan McDonald is not at the residence.

Officer Robinson is then directed to go to Freedom Park to continue search efforts for Isabel, as her team was playing the baseball game scheduled for that morning in her absence.   Upon arrival, it was learned that  only Isabel’s coach had been informed that she was missing during an earlier call from Sergio Celis.

As Robinson is circling back to receive further assignments in continuing efforts to find Isa,  he is tasked with keeping track of vehicles leaving the immediate neighborhood of 12th and Van Buren and notes a green Jetta GLS parked to the East of Craycroft on E. 14th St.  After running  it’s plates to learn it is registered to a Nathan Patrick McDonald, resident of E. 12th St ., the officer informs Sgt. Dana, incident commander.  A redacted portion of the conversation appears in the report.

Nates Isa Excursion

This occurs at 10:15AM.  Between 10:15 and 10:35, the officer observes McDonald emerge from the South end of the Wilshire Park field,  carrying a large maglite.  McDonald crosses through the middle of the field and when he reaches his vehicle,  the officer approaches and  McDonald confirms that the green Jetta is his vehicle.  He tells him he had heard about the missing girl and was out searching tunnels and washes to the north and south where he found nothing.

McDonald “abruptly” informs the officer he must leave to go home to EAT BREAKFAST and leaves the area in his vehicle.  BASTA  informs ALL  radio contact assigned of his exchange with the subject and a call to other officers on duty with orders to record all vehicles,  including taking images of all vehicles currently parked on E. 12th st .

By 10:45AM all are instructed to stop, log plate and driver info and request consent search every vehicle coming in or out of the area.

Chris Lutzelberger, a resident of S. Essex St who likely observed the exchange between  McDonald and the officer,  asked him what all the police presence in the neighborhood was about.

Lutzelberger informed Robinson him  that a man matching McDonald’s description was sitting on an electrical box located behind his residence earlier that morning from approximately 9AM-9:30Am at which time he told the individual to leave.

By 11AM, as security was requested by another officer at 11:23AM, a wash no more than 50 yards from where McDonald entered the south end of the park yielded a sheet, bed skirt, and a bag of clothes that were processed at the scene and taken into evidence.

A warrant was secured hours later at the McDonald/Gregory home on E. 12th St.  Taken into evidence was a shoeprint on landscaping “fabric” from the backyard.  Shoeprints were now collected on 3 other surface areas.

    Nathan, help me understand, please?

in one of your above posts, you said TPD have NOT told you NOT to discuss anything, and that you’ve told them EVERYTHING you know, and (IIRC) that they told you , you were NOT a suspect, yet, NO suspect has been arrested, and I’m assuming TPD have NOT been back to re-interview you or dragged you in for questioning, Tell me, how is it that you feel anything you may or may not say would “jeopordize the investigation?”

The washes are local low-lying areas that channel rainwater to the “rivers” in Tucson, which typically only run during our “monsoon” season in mid-July thru August (and any other times we have exceptionally high amounts of rain).

I posted a drainage and rain map upthread, for anyone interested. I will tell you the GIS is not exactly GPS “real time” but close.

Aside from the 160 “I”s(give or take a few) this is what I’m wondering about.

    Nathan McDonald says:
“Alicia and I sat on our front porch in disbelief after the Celis boy left. Then we had conversations with other people. Then I went in the house and looked around my backyard. Then I looked at Alicia and she looked at me and I thought, I should go look for her. Alicia agreed. Others were looking as well, I was not the only person walking around that day looking for Isabel.”

I work in a public place and often have to look for missing children. When a family member is looking for a missing child I don’t sit there after they have left. I immediately help them search. (Of course they have all been found within 10 minutes.)Att the time the heart is pounding and I’m in action mode.

Then they had conversations (multiple!!) with other people? Who?? Why??

“I went in my house and looked around my back yard”??? How so?
what happened between looking around the back yard and the look that was exchanged with Alicia where Nathan thought but did not vocalize that he should look for the missing child?

    WOW WOW WOW….

I wonder why Alicia didn’t help look?

It should be noted that a footprint on a piece of landscape fabric was removed from Mr. McDonald’s backyard and taken into evidence, were it was then additionally imaged at the TPD evidence are, or the facility on E. Ohio.

There is no indication who it belonged to, nor any information as to whether that print matches any others.

  8. Cindy says:

Whenever there is police or fireman activity in my neighborhood, all the neighbors come out of their homes to snoop. Because Mr. McDonald’s child knows the Celis’ oldest child, he would have been interested in all the police activity at the Celis home that morning. If he was near the Celis home around 9:30 am, it was to find out what terrible thing had occurred. As a parent, I would also be snoopy and would walk as close as possible to the home with all the police cars to find out or overhear what was occurring. This behavior is not an indication of guilt.

  9. Cindy says:

It is ridiculous to believe that Sergio asked a buddy to help him dispose of his dead child. Exactly how would that occur?
Buddy: (answers phone) Helloooo? It’s 4 am! Who the *&^* is this?
Sergio: Hi, Buddy! It’s Sergio. I wanted to invite you to come over for a beer sometime soon.
    Buddy: Uh….dude…it’s 4 am.
Sergio: Oh and by the way, I was wondering if you could do me an immediate favor. Get out of bed right now and go secretly bury my dead six-year-old daughter in the desert somewhere. Okay?

    Nope. Didn’t happen.

    ****

ITA. My eyes are crossing with the numerous and lengthy posts by Mr. McDonald. I am skeptical about his identity.

Mr. McDonald, if this is indeed the individual cited in the released documents, you assert your innocence. If, as you state, LE has cleared you as a suspect and you are not connected to Isabel’s disappearance, you have nothing to worry about. Yet you feel the need to censor Blink from her First Amendment rights. In attempting to silence Blink, you are by extension attempting to censor all commenters too. It won’t work.

Prayers for little Isabel, wherever she may be.

  12. Mom3.0 says:

I dont find Mr. McDonalds actions here strange, was it the best thing to do yes but it does not come without consequences-

Its a catch22 a child was missing he wanted to help- he searched- but in doing so he may have messed up evidence and he, without a doubt, unfortunately became a focus of the investigation-

Mr. McDonald did the morally right thing- but he did not necessarily do the right thing in terms of protecting himself and perhaps not IRT the investigation.

Mr McDonald says (PP) the police, after a long day which included a warrant and search, apologized and thanked him- he says he can not sleep at night because he worries that his actions to help Isabel and her brother, may have hurt the investigation and unfortunately put him in the harsh limelight as a POI according to the docs-
    I feel for Mr. McDonald-

I think most people would react to this same situation in much the same way-
A kid knocks on your door frantically looking for his little sister who is missing-

AJMO It seems what happened is
The neighbor (Mr McDonald) answers the question if he has seen little girl NO closes door somewhat shocked tells wife- both sit on front porch- watching street- talking, seeing other neighbors- talks with some of NB- then decides to go in back yard to double check and make sure little girl is not somewhere hiding- -

This seems fruitless and decides what good am I sitting here> Ill go look around the neighborhood- – searches the washes because it is a place where kids go, searches the alley ways where boxes are- sits and rests-sees and encounters several police-

After talking to LE last time returns home sun-burned, tired and hungry.
Next thing he knows he has become a focus -police do their jobs Mr McDonald cooperates- Police apologize and move on-
Then the Docs are released- and Mr. McDonald is thrust back into the focus without the aid of LEs apology or thanks included in the docs

The public, the media, review docs which paint him as a focus. The docs are discussed- He and his actions and LEs investigation concerning him are discussed

He is afraid this will follow him forever, and that his name is being tarnished-

Mr. McDonald is not mad at Blink, he is not mad at contributors- he is not mad at the public- he is frustrated and sad about the release of these docs which do not tell the whole story–JMO

This sadly will follow Mr. McDonald around, but not because his name has been tarnished, it will follow him because little Isabel is still missing and he was unable to fin her- that day will be etched in his mind forever.- JMO

What Mr. McDonald needs to focus on is that he did do his best to help Isabel and her brother- what he needs to focus on is the fact that when push came to shove he acted- and even though there were unforseen consequences- he did what was right- and the consequences do not outweigh the good deed. Not as long as he chooses to see it in that light.

What Mr. McDonald needs to realize that this is and never was about him – the focus was always on Isabel and still is on Isabel-

Mr. McDonald has nothing to fear- IMO for if his greatest misstep- was in taking a step off his porch to search for a missing child- then may we all suffer the same consequences bestowed upon Mr. McDonald-

I am sure he and we would gladly withstand all the scrutiny in the world if it meant Isabel and the countless other missing children would be brought home safely.

At least I hope we would.

    AJMO
    Peace

The term “wash” is a local term that refers to a natural water course or a man made canal that is used to carry storm water down South of the city to the river.

Most of those shown on the Google maps are a combination of natural and man made. The County drainage and rainwater maps show the routes but do not have any physical structures related.

I never saw a creek or man made canal that did not attract children. Most will play in them at one time or another.

The canal or wash that traverses this area begins miles to the Northwest and traverses a Southwest direction that changes to South at the southern property line of the park. It uses concrete round or box culvert material to pass under streets. Northwest of the park the drainage structure is completely underground across the commercial area beginning at Craycroft.

  14. Mom3.0 says:

Mr. McDonalds posts have given me a lot to think about-

If we go by Mr McDonald accounts -then it would seem Isabels brother frantically was searching- and going door to door- why is it that either one or more of the children were searching -frantic- crying scared- why didnt dad go with them?

This little boy prompted a neighbor, it would seem several- by NM accounts, to get up and search- and still another was concerned enough to prompt him to call 911-
Mr McDonald searched for hours in the hot sun without food or water- Why didnt Isas father feel any sense of urgency? Why did he not frantically search- why was he not scared about his child/ren going out to look for Isa- whom he felt was “abducted”?

Why does it seem like dad is so unemotional – was it a direct result of everyone else freaking out?

IDK but there seems to be a clear distinction between the actions of the children and of the neighbors and of mom in comparison to the dad.

Could CPS have asked Dad to remove himself from the home based upon his actions/inactions that day? Did he put his children in harms way by letting a distraught 14 year old and possibly a ten year old out to search for Isabel alone?

Would CPS act on that alone?

    Also
    What is the timeline?

What time was Isabel discovered missing? When did Dad wake the boys How long to look around the house, the yard? The neighbors?

What time did Isas brother reach the first home, the next Mr. McDonald’s?
What time did mom leave- what time was she alerted to the disappearance- what time was the 911 call?

    AJMO
    Peace

    Dear Blink,

Why am I unsurprised that you didn’t post, nor respond to, my last message? You just prove my point. Your false pride won’t let you address when people challenge you in a reasoned manner. When confronted with the truth, you run an hide behind those who don’t find fault with your methods. You wish for all of your readers to fall in line and offer you congratulation for being so “fair” and “thorough”, even when you’re not. I’m sure for the most part you do your best to be this way, but with respect to Mr. McDonald, you’ve fallen short. I have pointed out DIRECTLY where you have spread misinformation, but you refuse to address the issue, or remedy it in any way. I find your actions despicable.

Of course this won’t be posted either, as you’ll probably delude yourself into believing that I’m being rude and so don’t deserve a forum to address my concerns, but in our heart of hearts both you and I know the truth; that what you are doing to Mr. McDonald is WRONG, but you’re just too addicted to the attention, drama and praise to acknowledge it.

Amanda- I am not deluded, you are rude. And scolding and characterizing people you do not know, and interpreting what is in my “heart” – but I am the one making assumptions? Seriously.

You do not follow the body of my work, and anyone reading your posts knows this is way more about you than I. As an example- what other sites and forums have you posted your opinions on?

Any one of them that began posting “suspicion” and highly personal information about Mr. McDonald, that HAS NEVER APPEARED here which began 3 days before this article posted?? Not because posters have not found it and posted it, but because for me at this point it was irrelevant, and unrelated to the instant matter, I did not allow it.

Really, if you are going “all in” on an issue- I recommend you sample your audience- I took my time and verified information, so in point of fact, I might be considered late to this party, so to speak.

Your attachment to Nathan is causing your anger. I get that. Here is a thought-

There will be more documents released, and when they are, let’s chat some more.

I said nothing to allege Mr. Mc Donald did anything wrong, although I can tell you that at first blush, TPD was very concerned that he did. I believe that Mr. Mac described that as “being put through the ringer”. That happened, I reported on it, we are discussing it without censorship, thank you very much.

Are we supposed to condemn TPD now? Because they clearly were doing their job. Mr. McDonald does not like that his business as it relates to this case was posted to the public. He himself has made claims to be fact that have NOT been verified, and I have allowed readers to consider them as such.

You have pointed out WHAT YOU FEEL is misinformation, I disagree, that happens to be a socially accepted and constitutionally protected exchange, so I would assume that you might realize at some point people read cadence, syntax and diction, and can tell when they are being hoodwinked.

That is not an allegation mind you, that is an opinion, and it is mine, and it may or may not be my opinion wrt to you or Mr. McDonald, or Old McDonald, or McDonalds. Maybe this is actually me, and maybe I read this, and maybe I am posting telepathically.

You see how ridiculous and manipulative that sounds?

I did respond to your comment, and your not going to like it, and furthermore, I will say I am going to guess you are not going to like my coverage on subsequent document releases in this case

He doth protest.. You doth protest.. I doth get it. Move on.

I have been reading all these comments and I appreciate everyones concern for Isa. As a local, I can see Mwhy Mr. McDonald would go to the wash to search for Isa.

I even discussed with my husband and he said he would have done the same thing. We live off of a wash and with my boys we have always said, you are not allowed in the wash alone, a sicko could be in the wash and we wouldn’t be able to hear anything.

My husband and I discussed what would we do, how would we handle things being Isa’s neighbor. We both agree he would go looking in the wash. We feel that if you think she is taken from the window from a stranger/pervert, you would assume he would take her to the wash to harm her (I won’t say in what way, but I’m sure you can imagine). He would take her to wash and harm her. We would think he may have left her there, so of course I would send my husband (and he would run there) to see if he could find her.

Now that weekend was horribly HOT! It was the first weekend we hit over 100. Unseasonably warm, and it came quickly. In the desert, at 8ish the sun is bearable, but after 9 that heat gets to you. The sun pounds into you and it is easy to get dehydrated. We have had two tourists die from heat this summer. You leave hiking in the morning thinking you are okay and the heat gets you. As a local it has happened to me. You can’t think straight, you feel sick, your head pounds, you are ready to throw up (look up signs of heat stroke).

Now I don’t know if this is what happened to Mr. McDonald, nor do I claim to know his intent. As a local though, I felt like I had to put credence to his actions.

I can respect that, and I appreciate your opinion, but have you looked at the area of the wash in question in relation to Mr. McDonalds home, and his assertion that he searched in tunnels as well that day? That said, he is not saying what wash, and what tunnels, why, and what boxes he may or may not have perched on.

I agree with the woman writing this article and that Isabel was dead before she even left the home. The same with Lisa Irwin and Madeline McCain. What I don’t understand is why it is so easy for all these people to get away with it

Third attempt at posting this, sorry if it duplicates:
If there were blood and/or missing bed linens in Isa’s room it seems Sergio would have been dramatically more upset during the 9-11 call. I find it odd he didn’t even notice her window was open and the screen missing.

When Sergio Jr spoke to 9-11 he did not mention missing bed linen or blood either, unless that portion was redacted.

I don’t see a homeless person having use for a bedskirt but it’s possible.

The location of McDaniel’s parked car is half a mile from his home. Why would he choose to drive to that specific area instead of searching on foot starting from his home or Isa’s house? Especially within minutes after being informed she was missing?

I ask myself, if a neighbor child came to my door because his six year old sibling was missing I would absolutely go assist in looking. I would even do so alone and within minutes. However, I don’t believe I would hop in my car, drive a half mile away, and begin to look. I would start from square one and fan out from there.

Me too. I’m also curious why he checked his back yard. In this neighborhood, aren’t most of the back yards enclosed? How would Isabel have gotten in there? Seems like an odd place to check. Perhaps he had his reasons. As he’s stated, we don’t have all the facts.

  24. Katie says:

Amanda, you stated, “It’s very telling to me that it took you 12 hours and my complaint for you to release my previous post from moderation, despite releasing a slew of other comments in the interim. And yet you still did not answer my question.”

I just want to note that it appeared that Blink took 12 hours to release my post as well and, it was in support of Blink and her reporting.

I am not sure if you are aware of this but Blink is an actual person, a mother with, I believe, 2 children who, like most mothers, likes to spend with them as well as moderate this blog. She is also a wife and, if I am not mistaken, lives on the east coast where, after midnight she continues to work.

I think we could assume that it is possible she was just plain old busy doing other things today.

Blink, I know that you are quite capable of defending yourself if you choose and feel free to not post this. I have a strong dislike of bullies and can’t help but react.

  25. moxiemom says:

God, Blink, I love you!! No need to post this but just wanted you to know that you make me burst out laughing and I LOVE your responses to Amanda! I know you know how much your regular readers admire & respect you, but it’s always nice to hear it again!! Keep up your GREAT WORK!!!!

  26. deb says:

Blink- sending positive vibs your way- your a true crime investigative TROUPER!

  27. Carolyn S from Maryland says:

I am coming out of lurking and reading to post a comment about how and when Blink posts comments. There appears to be several new commenters on this site who are not familiar with Blink’s work.
Blink’s site is different from most every other blog I have visited because NOTHING gets posted until it is checked. When I press “submit comment” on this benign post, it will go into moderation. It will not appear immediately. I will appear when Blink or an approved editor reads the comment, verifies that I am the same person who signed up under my moniker before (ie, no one is using my name inappropriately) and finds there is nothing within the content that is not safe to be posted publicly.
In some ways this makes the site frustrating, as I have to come back hours later to see if my post has showed up yet. However, the end result is that I don’t see the snipping, off topic and crazy comments that I see on other sites. It is not personal, people. It is the way Blink does her site and why I keep coming back to read here.

  28. Cindy says:

#8 and #9 – Hey, I’ve been posting here for a while and the first time that I saw another “Cindy”. Should I change my identification? I’d like to keep my own identity.

Also, my head is spinning just trying to input everything said here in the last day or so.

    Prayers for Isabel.

  29. lizzygoat says:

You see Nathan it is you not Blink that has told me something is off. Maybe you are a narcissist or maybe you were involved. There is a gap between when you found out and when you searched. The frantic ringing of the doorbell by a neighbor of YOUTH did not elicit a search response from you. You have told us that you:

    sat

    had conversations (multiple)

went in the house and looked around the back yard.

    exchanged looks with Alicia

ONLY then did you think to help this young neighbor who was frantically ringing doorbells looking for his little sister.

You told us with the word “should” that you were perhaps reluctant as if this were an everyday routine for you….I should mop the floor…I should go grocery shopping. How many times in the last five years have you been awoken by a neighborhood boy frantically ringing your doorbell looking for his missing sister?

This is what you did NOT tell us:

The people you talked to were neighbors and all of you decided to organize a search party in different areas. Although multiple conversations between adults would have probably come up with bringing along water for the missing child if not for yourself as you are a desert dweller.(You did remember to bring a maglight in the light of day)

What you did between entering the house and looking around the backyard.

Why you went from looking around the back yard to getting in your car and driving. As opposed to expanding your search from where you were looking in your back yard.

Why were you wearing a tank top only part of the time. Why was it important for you to tell us this? It was important because you told us. Rather than saying I was sunburned.

  30. georgiamom says:

I have been very busy and haven’t posted on this case since the early days but I’ve read all the comments. I am heading out the door, but I just had to pop on to tell Blink that I could use a purple pill every now and then (especially when it’s too early for my liquid relaxants) , you ol’ Magic 8 ball with legs!! I will be laughing all the way to the doctor’s office! Kudos, Blink.

  31. Susie says:

    Cindy (green), mom3.0, and momof3tuscon,

I agree with all of you. Why does it matter which part of the wash was searched by McDonald? As far as using his car, maybe he had it because he wasn’t sure how long he would be walking around and because it is hot as heck in Tuscon? As far as a bed skirt being found with clothes, etc. don’t homeless people use what they can to get comfortable at night? Isn’t it a possibility?

  32. Susie says:

lizzygoat- Maybe McDonald brought a maglite because it is dark in the tunnels?

  33. lizzygoat says:

    Nathan McDonald posted”

“I woke up and left my house. I walked a good amount. I was wearing a tank top for most of it and ended up with a sunburn. I was hot, I hadn’t eaten anything, I had no water, and I’d been out for probably 2 hours at that point. Officer Robinson did not approach me. I saw him, approached (he was not the only law enforcement I encountered that morning). I gave him the same report I’d given others, then I told him I was going to have breakfast. I was hungry and tired.

I can see how a man who just walked several miles in the heat on an empty stomach needing breakfast can seem super suspicious. I hope this puts some of that to rest.”

He had told us he WALKED…he has not told us he SEARCHED or LOOKED for Isabel.

  34. Susie says:

Just wondering, with the exception of momof3tuscon, have any of you been to Arizona? Have any of you been to Arizona in the summer? I have been to Tempe in the summer and when explaining how hot it is to someone else I compared it to a sauna when they put water on the coals. It is so hot it can take your breath away. Especially if you get out of an air conditioned car and open the door. This is based on my experience. It is a dry heat and makes it feel like it is hard to breathe and I am healthy.

  35. lizzygoat says:

    Nathan McDonald posted:

“I decided to leave my house”, “I left my house to find her”, “I woke up and left my house”, “As a man who left his home to search..”, …”I left my house shortly after”

Why is this so important? If Nathan McDonald searched in a wash we know he left his house to do it. Why is he telling us this?

  36. NY Liz says:

@ NM, you say – “I walked a good amount. I was wearing a tank top for most of it and ended up with a sunburn. I was hot, I hadn’t eaten anything,”

Maybe this is why you needed to stop and rest for half hour on an electrical box? Why can’t you just say yes or no if it was you? Blink did not say that it was definately you – only that the description of the person matched you.

This is all based on police reports that were released. Don’t be mad at Blink – be mad at TPD for releasing your name. If you’re certain that you’re not a suspect – maybe you should ask TPD to release a statement saying that you’ve been cleared. We’re all free here to give our opinions and until you give us facts, we will continue to form opinions based on the police records that are posted here.

  37. Susie says:

    Blink,

If the police thought McDonald was involved wouldn’t they have charged him by now? Why do all these cases go unsolved? They are becoming so common now. It seems so easy these days for a parent to do something to their child and get away with it. It seems to be the latest thing, to get up in the morning and find your child missing from their room. Frustrating.

  38. lizzygoat says:

Susie, I have not read Nathan McDonald post that he decided to search tunnels. He has told us he “decided to leave my house and search the wash that runs through my neighborhood” (There is a comment that I don’t think was posted yesterday that is now up a page or two back where he used the word search.)

  39. Susie says:

One thing that stands out to me is when McDonald says there is a lot more to this case that has not been released. How would he even know that? Do police talk about the case with the public in Tucson? Just asking.

  40. NY Liz says:

@ NM – just wanted to add to my previous post. I believe you stated that you saw several other people walking and searching for ISA that morning.

May I point out that you seem the be the only person that looked ‘suspicious’ enough that day to have a warrant issued to search your home. (If your home wasn’t the only one with a warrant, I apologize, but I believe I read that earlier)

  41. Pak31 says:

I just want to say that I am very disappointed that someone is coming here and verbally beating up Blink.(Amanda). I would think Mr. McDonald can fight his own battles and he’s already come here and sort of cleared the air on his feelings etc. So why is Amanda still coming after Blink? I can’t believe that people, adults can’t “talk” to each other with respect and just be nice to each other. A little girl is missing and may be deceased, think about that and what she may have gone through. Is it really worth being mean to someone?

  42. Arica says:

Hi, I am new here, and I must not be doing something right. On this post, it says there are 183 comments, which I’d like to read. However, I can only access 50-something of them, even if I hit “newer comments”. Can anyone help?

  43. Arica says:

I also notice that the comment I just posted only shows up as #34. Yikes!

  44. FloridaGirl says:

It appears Mr. Mcdonald is on the defensive.
Perhaps Mr. McDonald is leading us to believe that after he and Alicia shared a stare, he strolled to their backyard. Now we all understand why his fresh footprints were back there.

Maybe, just maybe, he left those footrpints coming in from the rear of his home in the early morning of April 21st.

A grown person so consumed and worried about HIMSELF and what other people think. Now that is a SELFISH person..

This is all just my opinion ….

  45. NY Liz says:

Blink – you were hoping to issue Part 2 today. Do you still expect that to happen or is it going to be delayed now? I would imagine you may have some updating to do due to recent posts by McDonald

Oye NY Liz, I hope to, after being out of the house since 5:15am, I returned an hour ago to find my office out of cable access and a modem issue based on our storms. My schedule tomorrow is worse, 6 hours of travel for Blinkette’s state semi finals. I think it may have to be Wednesday afternoon.

What can I say, my best/worst week scheduling wise is nothing compared to this baby’s need to be found.

My thoughts and prayers are with Isa.

    B

  46. Susie says:

Izzygoat, I may be incorrect but I believe that tunnels was referenced somewhere, either in the documents, in Blink’s write up, or in McDonald’s statements. Otherwise, I would not have said tunnels.

  47. Susie says:

    Izzy,

If McDonald was guilty of something, wouldn’t he have been charged already? Do you believe if he was guilty, that law enforcement would let him run free?

  48. A Texas Grandfather says:

    Susie

Yes, I have been to Arizona several times. Some trips were work related and others were vacations. I have arrived at Phonix Sky Harbor aiport when the temperature was 115 degres F. I have also been to Tucson when it was summer and when it was winter.

Most of West Texas is desert country with similar temperatures.

One of the “red” flags that Mr. Mcdonald raised to me was that he was checking the tunnels and the wash while wearing a pink T-top. This guy is either telling us a fabricated story or he does not know how to protect himself from the heat or from what may be found in the tunnels/culverts.

There is some brush in the wash and the culverts are not large enough to stand up. One would have to crawl to properly search them.

Proper attire in my experience would be a pair of jeans and a long sleeved cotten shirt and a hat or cap to protect your head from the heat and direct sun. The body would produce sweat that would be traped in the cotten clothing to act as a heat shield and a means for cooling. The cotten clothing would protect against sun burn. A big ole red or blue bandanna around the neck and maybe soaked with water would add more protection.

I learned this as a child working in the summer heat on a farm.

Are you sure the tank top was pink, ATG? Did I miss that?

  49. hobnob says:

    Regarding Nathan Mcdonald

Nathans mcdonald has a questionable past alright.
His own words tell us this.
I am a person. An innocent person. I am not a character in the game of Clue.
Notice he refers to himself as a person not a man.
Why can’t he take ownership of his own gender? Person is used to conceal the identity. Why does he need to conceal he is male?
    Perhaps this is why?

I am intimately familiar with the scrutiny of police in this kind of situation, as you can well imagine.
How many people would be intimately familiar with the scrutiny of police in the case of a missing child?
Only someone who has been involved in a missing child case before.
Since this is a rare event the logical conclusions are either he himself has had a child go missing (unlikely) or he has has a history involving children ie he is a paedophile and thus one of the first to be investigated by LE when a child goes missing.
He doesn’t tell us he is familar, he tells us he is intimately familiar indicating perhaps something sexual.

  50. FloridaGirl says:

Sure LE would let him and his mouth run free as a bird, for a limited amount of time…
