Megan Sharpton Murder Suspect Declares Himself Just That: Family And Alleged Accomplice Terrified Of Donnie Jones
The prime suspect in the brutal rape, mutilation and murder of nursing student “Megan” Sharpton is outing
In a police report filed Friday evening September 7, 2012 with the Tullahoma Police Department, a man named Donnie Frank Jones identified HIMSELF as the suspect in the murder of Megan Sharpton. Jones acted out in an intimidating and threatening manner against a female associate to the Sharpton family as well as the local police.
The woman’s identity is being withheld by BOC.
Jones told police he wanted the woman arrested for theft.
Jones, who allegedly extinguished a cigarette butt collected by the woman shortly thereafter, told police he was fearful the butt might be used as evidence to frame him in Megan Sharpton’s murder.
It was clear at that point in the exchange that Donnie Jones approached this woman to send a message to the Sharpton family. He knows that they ‘know’ if you will.
A subsequent incident occurred at a member of the Sharpton family’s home on September 11th when a real estate sign posted in the front yard was peppered with bullets. A police report has been filed with Coffee County who then requested Megan’s family NOT file a protection from abuse order. Family members were told it is “just a piece of paper.”
Donnie Frank Jones, a convicted felon, has been told he is a suspect in the sexual assault and aggravated murder of Meg Sharpton. Megan or “Meg” as she preferred, was a nursing student who had been commuting daily with another student until she graduated last year.
As reported exclusively on Blink On Crime , Jones was identified as a suspect in Sharpton’s murder due to a match of his DNA in CODIS. CODIS is the combined DNA Index system that maintains criminal database DNA submissions and the software that supports it.
Jones had previously submitted a DNA sample related to an aggravated assault and burglary conviction. This resulted in parole violation in 2011.
Meg Sharpton was found partially nude and burning from the waist down. She had been beaten, raped, and set aflame hours later at the base of Awalt Road bridge. Additional details about Meg Sharpton’s autopsy report continue to be withheld for investigative reasons.
Detectives believe Megan was deceased when she was dumped at the pull-off before the bridge in the Tim’s Ford Lakes area on July 4th weekend. A passing motorist, who called from a nearby church, saw what they initially believed to have been a grass fire. Upon further inspection according to the witness, the responder believed he saw the body of a deceased person, probably a female.
Although police have stated the 911 caller did so anonymously, it has since been learned the call came from inside the Church. ( Editors Note: Since the publication of this article, a tip was received by BOC that the call came from the parking lot of the church.) BOC was able to confirm the time of the call at 1:18AM, and that tire tracks which remained at the scene following Megan’s discovery were molded by the TBI evidence processing unit.
The 911 call is the subject of a recent FOIA request by this editor.
On the night of the murder, Megan thought she was going on a job interview. Following a helpful tip from colleague – Naomi Jones LPN, Megan was offered an opportunity to interview for a position caring for an elderly woman.
She was to show up for this brief interview and then work her shift until about midnight. According to both family and her boyfriend due to the short notice of the interview, she was told she would receive a cash payment that very evening.
Naomi Jones is Meg Sharpton’s prior college commuter pal and the wife of Donnie Jones.
Naomi was also previously assigned as Donnie Jones’ correctional guard.
Megan’s mother Kelly Sharpton recalls that during their last phone conversation Meg shared that despite not knowing whose mother she would be caring for and having to interview in the evening- she was not overly concerned based on her friendship with Ms. Jones.
ACCESSORY AS A BAD THING
Blink On Crime has learned there is at least one other person making public statements about this case. This man is pointing fingers directly at Jones- and far away from himself.
Timothy Daniel Gifford is the resident of the trailer searched in conjunction with Meg’s case on August 14, 2012.
He is believed to be a suspect as an accessory according to a source inside the investigation speaking to BOC on the condition of anonymity. The source went on to say that Gifford has told investigators Jones confessed the crime to him and has provided details in the investigation.
Gifford was arrested and booked into Bedford County Prison yesterday, but was bonded out shortly thereafter for an unspecified parole violation.
Kelly Sharpton, mother of Megan Sharpton has been appearing almost daily in the media pleading for the District Attorney J. Michael Taylor to proceed with an indictment of these men, or allow Franklin County to arrest them without one in the interest of public safety. General Taylor is believed to have the authority to override any arrest warrant not issued by his office.
Ms. Sharpton was unable to provide any details to BOC about the suspects in this case outside of what she has already said publicly during interviews. Detectives have asked her not to reveal any specifics about the case and she is honoring that request.

I’ve been reading all of the news, blogs and facebook posts regarding this case since it started because I had a former social work classmate fall to a similar fate two years ago. It hit close to home. Quite literally, since the main person of interest in this case was reported to be staying a couple roads down from my son’s school. The difference in the two cases were few, in only that her boyfriend was caught within a few days and LE didn’t have to wait on any outside influence to move forward with an arrest. This case baffles me, and my heart goes out to the families and residents of the counties involved. No one should have to live in fear when it could be stopped. This is why our justice system and law enforcement were put in place to begin with.
Last I checked, while doing research on honor cultures, the South has the majority of the violent crime in the nation, apparently due to long standing social culture and heat. This area is like a different world to outsiders. People like Megan, as she has been described, are rare. Her good nature could be described as naivety, but I would argue that we could all take a lesson from the love she showed to everyone.
The bickering I’ve witnessed on here or other blogs is beneath us. The focus should be on this poor girl, staying vigilant, and pushing our justice system to move forward. Arguing amongst ourselves is not going to help that in any way.
If he was expected to turn himself in and didn’t show up, would that not be considered obstruction of an investigation or justice? The charges have gotta be piling up against Demon Jones.
I wouldn’t put it past him to run. When arrested, jail is inevitable, a lengthy or lifetime sentence and bond will be HIGH. For the sake of Kelly and Megan, I’m thinking positive and focusing on the best outcome.
Momma, you’re welcome to post your opinion here. Please remember, this is a victim’s advocate site. We’re about Megan, the real victim. This isn’t the court of law and we’re entitled to believe TG is guilty until proven innocent. Many have been found guilty of heinous crimes . Friends and family would never think that person was capable, but sometimes you don’t really know somebody the way you think you do. It sounds like Demon Jones has TG under his thumb. He chose a friendship with this creep, despite his record. That speaks volumes about TG’s character and psyche, too. You are who you hang with.
You will be met with objection and debate. Big D calls us a pack of wolves. I think that’s a compliment. Yeah, we stick together when fighting for righteous causes. If you’re looking for validation, BOC isn’t the site for you, or Big D (where I come from, Big D is Dallas. Just sayin). Vent away but 1 is a lonely number, don’t you think?
FriendLY, you can try to convince these…people…that you have solid information that would convict 2 suspects.
Keep up the fight, as you always do. Jesus performed miracles before his apostles and witnesses yet, many ended up living without or a lack of faith.
I personally think you have given Big D more attention then he deserves. He’s border line trolling and pushing buttons. He doesn’t know his opponent too well, obviously, but I still wouldn’t give him what he seeks. Attention.
Heart u.
After not showing up to his pre-arranged meeting with his attorney and FC LE officials yesterday, DJ is MIA. I knew he would never honor the agreement to show because sociopaths do not bend to anyone’s will! This is why there are no reports, no stories, no updates because he didn’t honor the agreement and no arrests were made because he wasn’t there for them to arrest him. Now, they will have to FIND him to arrest him and they had better search with guns drawn because this guy is NOT going down without a fight. Meanwhile, our streets remain unsafe, if he is even still in the area. If he’s not in the area, the people wherever he is are unsafe because he will do this again…he’s a serial rapist/killer…he will need a “fix” soon and the young women wherever he is will NOT be safe! I’m sure Naomi and Gail know where he is and have, in my opinion, Megan’s blood on their hands by harboring, aiding and abetting a criminal and fugitive.
Blink,
Your comment re: “one little man” and “domestic terrorist” reminded me of small man syndrome. He’s also a bully and trys to control and intimidate to make up for his lack of genuine manhood.
Best solution…. More and more pressure and exposure!! If we concentrate on his slimy weakness’s he will be in a smaller and smaller corner, he’s already hiding cuz he’s skeered, obvious coward!
He is actually not small in stature, he is 6″ 240 lbs, but yes he clearly has a flagrant disrespect of women,
B
With this guy on the loose, I can’t imagine how frightened the entire town and surrounding communities are. If he was going to agree to a deal yesterday, why wasn’t LE watching him? Were they naive enough to trust that he’d show up and give up?
I cant say he was going to agree to a deal, or be offered one, but regardless, he knew he would be arrested because his atty rightly advised him he would be based on whatever workproduct discussion occurred between them.
When an attorney makes an appt with LE, and the DA is on standy, that atty made that schedule in good faith, at the request of his client. When your attorney is Floyd “Flossie” Davis, you trust him to be there.
Me thinks the whole 14 year judge in general sessions court may be one of the reasons General Taylor does not want to try this case.
B
Do they think two or three people was involved in this
It is my understanding they have not ruled out either option.
B
Blink, am I understanding you correctly that you are saying that because Flossie was the General Sessions Judge for 14 years, that MAY be the reason the DA doesn’t want to try the case? Why? Because Flossie is well-connected? Crooked as a dog’s hind leg? In the good ol’ boys’ club? Good at what he does? All of the above? Help me to understand, as best you can without treading into libel territory, why the DA MIGHT not want to deal with Flossie. I know Flossie’s reputation. So, the DA is just going to tread water on this because he’s got to go up against Flossie?
They have a history. Not friends.
B
Jack, DJ wasn’t going to cut a deal. He was supposed to show up to a pre-arranged meeting with his attorney, Flossie Don Davis, and LE with the DA on standby. Who in the world thought the man would actually show up? Not me. Flossie already advised him that he was going to be arrested, so why would he show up given his past tendency to evade arrest, including running, jail-breaking and faking his own death (and hiding behind his girlfriend’s sofa cushions, where he was finally caught?) These guys are not that naive…and neither are us citizens. If they really wanted DJ, he would have been under surveillance and he would already have been arrested. So, why wasn’t he? He’s in the wind now and they can’t find him. It’s looking like they don’t want to find him! The guy has a history of 21 felony counts against him. What’s he doing out on the streets in the first place? Connections, connections, connections. The smug SOB is protected. His uncle is Franklin County Commissioner A.L. Shasteen, mother is Gail Shasteen, he was living with Naomi in a house owned by the Shasteen Trust, Gail is dating Bennie Garrick a well-known local “businessman,” his attorney is Flossie Don Davis (former FC General Sessions Judge)…and this whole thing stinks like yesterday’s garbage!
Connie, a few points of clarification if I may:
Kelly has asked me to stress, and I agree with her, that Franklin County Sheriff’s Dept has been doing a stellar job in Megan’s case. The reality is the law enforcement partnership between LE and the DA is a requirement, and therefore FCSD is limited to that end.
It is my personal belief that Mr. Jones is not big in the way of any supporters from his family; although they have in the past, I agree.
Mr. Jones is not in the wind, he is not mia, and he is as brazen as ever.
This is DA Taylor’s burden right now.
B
He is actually not small in stature, he is 6″ 240 lbs, but yes he clearly has a flagrant disrespect of women,

thanks Blink,
I would have never guessed that , judging by his picture!
Is this an indication that the judge and the AG have some problems with one another in the legal area?
This is going right back to my original position of the court being the real problem in the community. In saying the court is the problem, it includes all who may practice in front of this judge. Sometimes a judge is not fair and will not administer juctice with an even hand as required by his position.
There are several counties nearby that have similar problems in the criminal justice system. The people will need to take steps to correct these problems.
Christian
Your comments about the South having the largest share of violent crimes may or may not be accurate. What we have in every state and community is a group of people who make poor choices about how they live.
If one is lacking in education and cannot live well in our society, it soon flows to those in your family. There are families who live for alcohol and drugs and nothing else. When you have that type of culture, it is always detrimental to the community. IMO it only takes about ten percent of a communities population who live like this to make it unstable and dangerous.
With regard to the 14 year judge, does Taylor have a bad history with him, or does the judge have a reputation for favoring the defense?
That’s the scuttlebutt. I also have to think in criminal court his representation might cause a few recusals. You don’t see a career judge going into private criminal practice very often unless there are term limits
B
Me thinks the whole 14 year judge in general sessions court may be one of the reasons General Taylor does not want to try this case.
B
**********************************
Possibly, but how can this much evidence be of any question as to a win? Is he really that nervous about Flossie?
As i mentioned on a previous post… LE/undercover should be stuck like glue to this guy. For whatever their reasons for not arresting him, they know he is guilty. He has an entire community in panic-mode. If he is missing now, it is simply inexcusable!
LE is limited to whatever they can get a warrant for.
B
Taylor and ‘Flossie’ don’t like each other, there’s history.
It’ll come out in the wash. Some that remember, Floyd was a Circuit Court Judge for (according to him, from 82-04) http://www.daviskesslerdavis.com/attorneys.asp
Anyway, what Blink says is usually a career judge doesn’t go into private practice. True, true.
But…if Taylor doesn’t act asap..and I mean NOW and issue a warrant, I have a feeling someone is going to just take care of it themselves.
I’m not advocating vigilante ‘justice’….but this community is about to boil over.
What would you do if you saw DJ running around out there??
Blink – Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Flossie held that position more like 22 years.
You may be right, and I may be referring only to the GS, the facts are flying today faster than I
B
May I ask what LE means?
If Taylor’s already scared to try this seemingly slam-dunk case, he has no business being the DA.
If the fact that ATTY ( former Honorable) Davis is involved in this case has any bearing on Gen Taylor’s reservations about the instant matter he should have the case reassigned.
B
So, if I am understanding correctly. DJ contacted an attorney. It sounds like this attorney counseled him to turn himself in. He “agreed”. The attorney scheduled the meeting yesterday. And then DJ no showed? Do you know or can you say has the attorney been able to reach him? Or is he literally on the”run”???
Texas Grandfather: I would normally never use a wikipedia entry to explain anything, but for a quick run through of what I was speaking of, here it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_of_honor_%28Southern_United_States%29
The information on the South (not including Texas, as it was considered a Western state) having the largest violent crime rates came from FBI statistics and various other forms of information from three years ago, focusing on population per capita versus violent crimes committed. My focus was on domestic violence issues, but I couldn’t ignore the glaring disparity.
if they would bring back public hanging a lot of this meaness would stop.10 2 15 years 4 murder is a joke.convict them today, hang em tomorrow
Well for those of us that are from that area, we all know that the LE is pretty much all crooked down there from the top to the bottom. And that goes back to the Flossie Davis days too, so what makes anyone think that it would be a fair case there now. YES they need to stick a big fork through Donnie Jones and everyone else involved! I’m praying they do, but in Frankiln and Coffe Co. money seems to buy alot and it’s real sad. But don’t let it happen to one of their damn family members. Remember when Flossie’s son had the Hummer and got a DUI. What was he about 16 at the time if I remeber correctly. He got out of that one. I think good ol’ Flossie might have been the Judge then. It’s a damn shame people can’t do the right thing in their jobs. This girl has lost her life because this man is crazy. He will kill again. Hell he probably has and we just don’t know. They need to get his kids away from him.
Well, DJ didn’t run too far. He just picked his twins up from their elementary school just a bit ago. If LE wants him so badly, I can tell them where to find him. He is, apparently, not afraid of them or anyone else! This whole things just p!$$e$ me off!
DJ was out in the open today and clearly not on the run. I watched him pull up at school with his wife. With the window rolled down. Why is this man aloud to scare this town???? I’m so concerned for those kids, they are so sweet and I feel they are in danger living with him!
Good ‘ole Flossie…. what a joke. It’s been known here as long as I can remember that if you want to get out of a charge no matter what it is, just call Flossie D. He may have been a judge for 14 years, but he has always taken on private cases. Of course it depended on who you were and how much money you had to wether or not he would take your case. Let’s just say he doesn’t fool with the nickle & dime stuff. And I am sure that is why DJ’s mother is paying top dollar for him as an attorney. This case shouldn’t even be tried (when the time comes) in this area. It needs to be moved to Chattanooga or Nashville like all of the other “big” trials are. Less of a chance for money to exchange hands in the trial if mommy doesn’t have pull with the courts there. I grew up in Tullahoma, and I will say this… It is a beautiful place to live and raise your family. Not too big, everyone pretty much knows one another, or at least your kin folk. And has a fairly low crime rate. That is until the good ole boys let perverts like this loose on the streets time after time. Sad… The DA needs to grow some balls and get a freakin backbone. Do your job! Get this freak and all that are involved off the streets and out of our community.
I do not believe Ms. Shasteen is paying for anything regarding this case.
B
are you tellin us that because the DA and the judge dont get along. that this man DJ . may get away with murder. and a chance to kill again.something about that is just not right..
No way I am saying that sir, but not getting along is a bit of an understatement.
This man is not going to get away with anything, regardless of agenda.
B
found out via internet…Law Enforcement;)
The alleged suspect probably won’t go too far away from his control zone. After he escaped from jail, he headed to a motel in Manchester, only 12 miles away from Tullahoma. Locals will know which motel, but I’m guessing it was one he had worked on and knew how where to get a key. (Maybe even from a housekeeper.)
I’d like to know of every vacant-for sale home in the area that his mother and or Bennie have any connections. Those need to be checked. I’m guessing his vehicle is already connected to LE gps, which he probably knows, as well.
An accomplice is playing with fire if they aided his departure. The 12th district covers four counties and he could be anywhere his probation status allows.
Vigilance is the word of the day. Advise your friends and neighbors to stay alert and aware, especially in the hotels and vacant homes.
He’s got to lay his large frame down to sleep somewhere (unless jacked on Meth) and is going to be found soon.
Sooner, if Taylor gets his head together in one piece.
@Christian. thanks for perspective. To me the “bickering” here is very unlike BOC, which is usually fact-based, but I think she allowed Big D and another “enough rope” unusually for a reason.
As far as country area “cultures”, long ago & far away I got an msw like you or yours and I was from Dallas.’
Big D in my youth was totally caucasian & stratified: Highland Park $, and the rest were moving up to middle class due to 4 yrs of college or simple folks like mine. For a long time now Big D has been mostly hispanic and very different from TX of 50/60 even 70s. And violence is endrmic in other areas, particularly the West, as well as bordering Mexico. Drugs have changed US culture.
So I think you refer to pockets of rural areas like rural MS or Al or TN or Ark, but I still think those places differ from each other these days and from the researched past. Kudos to you though for that research. Honor grudges probably more fairly exists if at all in rural Southern Appalachia
I have been looking for Flossie Davis’ judicial history & any reason he’s off the bench. Other than “MyLife,” I only found a CT lady (Florence called Flossie D). Are judges elected there? what’s his age? my guess is he finally wanted to make some money in criminal defense unless he lost an election. But this doesn’t look like a real paying client. So then what’s his motive to take this case? Is it to try to intimidate the DA before a case is even filed? What feedback will Davis get from the “upper echelon” of town. Cold shouldered at the golf course? Darn tooting every County Judge who served with him should recuse, just like in PA Sandusky case.’
He is FLoyd Don Davis Rose, goes to by FLossie and yes, he was off the bench by agreement.
B
I figured he was off by agreement, or a desire for preretirement lucre.
So I guess DA Office, formally or informally, contributed to grounds for agreement.
So is there a country club around those parts whose strokes he values?
Sr retired judges do go into private practice to make money and advise/teach younger lawyers, ie Stanley Sporkin. But I’ve never heard of one go into criminal defense of non-white collar felons. imo somehow this is all the client base left to him in his career. What’s the motivation for that client base but to stiff a DA for whim he feels enmity? And the County gentry are OK with that? or was he already a social pariah?
why is the last post at 11:09 am
Well, thank you for the site: http://www.daviskesslerdavis.com/attorneys.asp
Those look like 2 nice young men. Sr’s teeth remind me of You Know Who. This sweet
little firm needs to hire Word Girl asap for editing of home page content (“great legal mind” and all)
and grammar asap. I cringed.
I take it Sr “read” for the law, as a las school is not mentioned. That’s OK, I remember reading for law under a mentof still went on in VA in the 80s. The young mens’ law schools aren’t stellar but probably as good as it gets locally.
Flossie’s home page bio says he does ins, business & real estate. No criminal mentioned. It’s his partners who mention criminal. Why didn’t he give this client to his partner who does crim? is
the to-be-accused setting up an ineffective counsel appeal in advance?
For as long as I can remember there have been 2 attorneys in this area who are known to be as crooked as they come. One being Flossie, the others name I wont mention. My husbands 1st wife was killed by a drunk driver. He was charged with vehicular homicide, 4th offense DUI, no license & no registration. He of course hired Flossie because of his reputation. Flossie got all charges but the 4th DUI dropped & the guy served a whole 4 months for taking the life of a wife, mother & grandmother. Kinda makes you wonder how Mr. Davis can sleep @ night…
Copeland?
That is heartbreaking and hits my bullseye. My son’s middle name is that of his Dad’s cousin and best friend who was killed in a drunk driving accident at 19 while home from college for the weekend. His friend and the driver’s lawyer actually used the defense that the deceased was the one driving and not him. He was successful in getting a significantly reduced sentence ( a few months) for being the driver that killed 2 men.
B
So DJ and NJ are just living the domestic life, thanks to Taylor?
For a grudge long held?
So, all the young girls he encounters, gives the up/down look, possibly brushing against in the grocery or quick mart.
They don’t need to be kept safe, Mr Taylor.
Maybe that grudge you have is way bigger than little old Franklin, Coffee, Moore and Bedford counties.
I dare you to look Megan’s mother in the eye and say you can’t help.
I guess DJ is getting $ from somewhere. IF its not his momma, then SOMEONE knows.
NJ, how do you even sleep at night? How do you raise your kids around the evil that you are enabling?
NJ, how could you have been so evil?
If anyone knows anything at all…TALK! Get these monsters out of our neighborhood.
F+*# who holds the rug down over the swept up mess that’s gathered for years.
Talk. Now.
I wonder if this DJ is rich. or how is he goin to pay this high priced lawyer.some where there has to be some money.or he wouldnt take the case.i wouldnt think.
It’s a shame, but reality. These small towns still operate this way. I have seen it time and again. This one stinks to high heaven.
I know you guys remember Susan Smith, Union County. Remember Sheriff Wells? That was a very high profile case. FBI snooping all over, the country watching. Remember what happened not long after. Good Ole Boy Network BUSTED WIDE OPEN… Bribes, drugs, tax fraud… Shoot I even think I remember drugs for sale being stored right in a building that the Sheriff’s Dept. owned.
I have a feeling all the Tullahoma RATS are right now jumping ship….
I can hear the scatter !!!!
Blink, yes, I stand corrected. My information was wrong. DJ is definitely not MIA, as he was at BE Elementary today picking up his twins with his wife, and was in plain view for all the world to see since he had his car window down and made sure of it. I, too, think that FCSD has done all they can do and want to see DJ brought in with an airtight case so he doesn’t walk. This case is stalling at the DA level. I was living away during the time that the DA and Flossie had “issues” with each other, so I had some catching up to do on that particular hornet’s nest. Flossie is a piece of work; that part hasn’t changed over the years. He specializes in what he refers to as “wrongful arrests” which just means he’s good at getting scumbags off…for the right price. Rose, you can find Flossie here: http://www.daviskesslerdavis.com/attorneys.asp. You will find that he is also quite successful in the real estate market, too. He has earned the nickname Flossie, as he is excessively showy, slick, slippery and sly as a fox.
And don’t get me wrong. Just an example. I’m in no way insinuating anything smelly with law enforcement in this county.
22 yrs on bench? Here in 96 (16 yrs ago) he was a PI lawyer (think J Edwards) on losing end of the stick:
http://www.tncourts.gov/sites/default/files/OPINIONS/WORKCOMP/PDF/971/BAKERRB.pdf
Still on the losing side:
http://www.tncourts.gov/sites/default/files/lawtonsopn1.pdf
and taking the money to appeal from a 91 yo Court deemed in need of a conservator.
I colloquially put in the category of slimeball any attorney who’d have filed this appeal.
imo didn’t take long:
http://docs.docstoc.com/pdf/2217349/6e8c7503-5c32-41e2-bd2b-d56c226afafb.pdf
ATG nailed it.
Obviously I’ve not googled all his cases, but wtf would a DA worry about going against this appellant’s attorney, except his appeals seem wearisome:

Thanks for the link to Wikipedia. I, like you, use that source as a quick reference on many subjects. However, since it can be modified without a real review, it is subject to error. Checking some of the referenced material is usually required to verify accuracy.
You were referring to a particular form of violence as in the family. I have lived and worked in many communities in the “old” south. There are pockets of families who live by the old rules where women and children are treated as chattel rather than as humans with equal rights. Violence is a way of life for these people. “If you don’t do as I say I will hurt you” is very common. There is often an economic level that makes life hard
There are also those that use these people to make themselves rich or important in a community. These people are just a dangerous as those they control. Sometimes more dangerous. I think we have evidence from some who have posted on this thread that this is very possible in this community.
I and many others who regularly read and post on this site are all after just one thing- justice quickly served for Megan and her family.
Rose, I can appreciate what you’re saying about giving them enough rope. Everything said on here is rather public. I can also appreciate your comments about drugs and the culture. There has been an influx of Hispanic population in the state in the past decade, and while their culture is more machismo based (still an honor culture), I don’t normally hear as much about trouble they’ve caused as lower income caucasians (I hate saying that, I feel like I sound racist). Mainly just people upset about jobs taken, lines at the DMV, Tenncare issues, and the like. The area we are speaking of in this case is rural Highland Rim, which is right on the outskirts of Appalachia. As one of our law enforcement officers would say, “There’s the way it is, and then there’s ‘the way it is.’” Good ole boys, as far as you can see. I’m not saying there aren’t good people, or good LE (family and friends work in the justice system in the surrounding counties), it’s just a different way of life, that’s for sure.
For instance, in a neighboring county, a law enforcement officer who was involved in statutory rape never saw the first bit of punishment. Videos of having (rather questionably consensual) sex with an intoxicated young lady spread around and nothing was ever done. Many women around here I’ve known personally deal with men treating them as if they are owed sex, have been violated (or someone attempted to violate) while “passed out;” you know the stories. Too often, none of it ever comes to light because of the person’s status or intimidation.
I’m off topic.
I too hope that this case is moved to a different location.
links please?

Here’s a photo of Flossie and an article called “What’s My Case Worth?”
http://www.daviskesslerdavis.com/attorneys.asp
Word Girl…one good thing is that being on probation you are never allowed to leave the county in which you reside in unless you work outside that county. You have to have a written and approved document for each day you would be out of your county by your prob/parole officer. A probationer/parolee must, must always show up for ANY arranged court date, meeting with any LE official, etc.! Failure to do ANY of these things means your have violated your current probation/parole status and will be violated. I’m pretty sketchy on this case and I’m going by you stating he’s on probation (please forgive me if I totally misunderstood, happens so often with me, lol) The good news is that if he has a good, law abiding PO, then the paperwork is being drawn up as we speak to forward to the court and then to the sheriff for a warrant! Let’s hope so! They can hold him for a month which will be his next court date for this violation. Now, if I’m wrong on him being on probation just ignore me!
