Jodi Arias Trial: In Her Own Words.. How I Killed Travis Alexander With HIS Gun and HIS Knife
Phoenix, Arizona- In today’s highly anticipated morning testimony, Jodi Arias finally “gets there”.
After weeks of what can only be described as the dog ate my defense testimony led by Kirk Nurmi, Jodi Arias explains the events leading up to and during the murder of Travis Alexander.
Arias describes an irate and menacing Travis who bounds from the shower, causing her to drop his new camera and pouncing on her, knocking her to the wet tile floor.
“ A five year old can hold a camera better than you.” Arias stated Alexander screamed at her among other threatening expletives while she struggled to break free.
She then ran to the master bedroom closet and apparently using the Spiderman techniques she absorbed via osmosis from the alleged Valentines gift, retrieved a gun she claimed Travis owned over two feet out of her reach while he was sprinting behind her.
She pointed the gun at him, did not realize it went off and then Travis, still coming at her, stumbles to his knees on the now bloody tile beneath him. ( Editors Note: As I have always said, I believe the order of this injury is true and is important to the charges against her)
Enter gratuitous memory gap.
“I have no memory of stabbing him.” – Jodi Arias
Although Arias admits to having flash backs, she states she cannot remember any other details with the exception of her crouched in the bathroom covered in blood and drops a knife she believes was upstairs used by Travis to cut ropes he used to tie her up to the bed.
She did however, have the presence of mind to grab the ropes, the gun, apparently removes and loses her shoes and has no idea what happened to the knife she used to stab Alexander 29 times and slit his neck from ear to ear.
Next memory she is driving in the desert with the gun she alleges was Travis’s when she pitches it out the window at a random location, then puts the ropes in a dumpster behind a gas station and washes blood off her hands.
Pause for Arias innocuous driving babble and road scenery.
“Why didn’t you call 911 and tell them what happened?” Kirk Nurmi asks his sniffling but tearless client.
” …He attacked you, why did you feel You messed up pretty badly?”
“This time it was different, he had done it before and nothing happened, it was heightened.” Responded Arias.
While approaching a check point in Utah, she feels like she will be apprehended there.
Arias decided to do a “whole bunch of things” to cover up she was ever there.
So .. “I called his phone to leave a voice mail”. For nearly 16 minutes she says she tried numerous times to leave a cheery voice mail to ask as if she was not present in Alexander’s home.
“I just thought they would be listening to his voice mail, so I just thought it would throw the scent off for a while.”
– Jodi Arias
Yes, she actually said that on the stand. Defense Attorney Kirk Nurmi was observed writing a note to co-counsel Jennifer Wilmott to send an assistant out to Sam’s for an industrial size supply of Tums.
I made that part up. Testimony continues following jury lunch break.

Are you kidding me!?!
She is now lying about her journals….they are HER PRIVATE JOURNALS if she didn’t want anyone to read them, then DON’T let them be read….that is not rocket science. Besides you have clearly shown that you had zero problem conveniently removing pages (who knows what was actually written on those pages) and ye of foggy memory can tell us exactly what was written on the missing pages….what a giant steaming pile!!
If Travis read them it is solely because she let him and knowing her forced them on him to read…I highly doubt her journals were on the top of his reading list.
So the defense just decided to take redirect as an opportunity to edit the dierct rather than address testimony given on cross…I can not believe some of this crap is being allowed…it looks like the defense is trying some shady antics today..
She looks like an even bigger hypocrytical liar and Nurmi just looks like he is wasting everyone’s time….the jury has got to be exhausted not only from the trial as a whole to date but listening to the nurmi-jodi show today is just completely mind numbingly painful
___
the journals yep she had to bring them to him to read- and if she was worried about him reading them then why not create a fake one and a real one- many do that- think teens and keeping info from their parents- not just with actual journals but online ones too they create a fake “parent friendly site/diary” and hide the actual one…
THis is my most important take away from todays proceedings-
I think Jodi tore those diary entries out after the murder because she saw them as possibly pointing to motive- just like she said she called Travis that night…called LE to talk abut their sex life etc cuz she thought it would paint her as a friend not an enemy-
That diary entry speaking of being sick and sad–and speaking of her darkness…
all these parts were highlighted- and read what wasnt is this little blurb:
“Ive got to dowse my mind in some kind of mental round up kill all that does not serve me eradicate….”
So we have PP im sick sad uplifting suicidal…darkness.. Travis I love him … I wish I knew how not to… laws of attraction focus on positive..eliminate negative …
and then the strongest words of KILL and ERADICATE…
“well” I wonder how that sentence ended…
oh wait I already know ultimately she cleared her mind she lived up to her potential…she did away with all things that “caused her grief” she killed Travis Alexander
AJMO
Peace
hyperliteral indeed!!
going to bed now – I promise to let you rest Blinky-

Just my cheap 2 cents, but I don’t think Jodi was ever devouted to the Mormon faith. It was more of a process to win Travis over.
Ragdoll:
I totally agree that it was just another ploy to suck Travis in. I think this women will pretend to be anything to get what she wants,it just amazes me that her supposed good friend was making this claim at this stage of the game. Back to story #2, are you kidding me? Never mind, nothing this women does surprises me! Bring on the questions from the jury!
Blink, How do you think Jodi got TA’s body back in the shower stall? There’s a raised area at the bottom that you have to step over to get into the shower. Can’t imagine how she got his body over the hump.
I think the back of his heels hit that “bump. There are no drag marks from the carpet to the shower on the floor, so I believe she put him on the bedding and pulled the bedding.
The other thing I am shocked at, and my guess is that it is being saved for the rebuttal case or closing, is that a print in blood was recovered on the floor. She has admitted she was wearing socks, and iirc they were located in the dryer.
So why no mention that she was wearing socks over her shoes? Hello premeditation?
B
@Malty. Well said. Forget me too Jodi. She really only loves herself.
Blink says: “I am also pro death penalty to the point you might think me a Texan.”
Hey, you should be so lucky!
*waves Texas state flag*
Big fan! One of my besties is born and raised as we say. A few years back when I was recovering from a concussion she said to me on the phone “At first I was fixin’ to come up there, brave that death trap of an airport an’ all, and then I’m like, for the first time ever, y’all are talking slow enough that I can understand y’all. I like not having to count on hearing every third word. You talk so fast I used to think about taking a nap before I call.
LOL
Irt more folks would be pro death penalty as it suits the crime if criminal prosecution could tighten appropriately.
B
Will we know the questions and answers regarding the jury before the verdict? Yes, they will be read following completion of re-direct.
B
So when, if ever, will closing arguments be made in this case? Shouldn’t we be nearing that end fairly soon? Did the experts jump ship or will there be a list of those arguing for abused Jodi? Hasn’t the defense previously established there was lots of sex and even more phone/text sex? I’d think the judge would say “you have covered that completely, move on”. If there were to be a “pop” quiz on this trial, the first question should be “Did Jodi prefer Tootsie Pops or Pop Rocks during sex?” Enough already, it seems apparent both Jodi and Travis held their own Sexapalooza, enjoyed every minute of it, and that is no crime. The crime here is murder.
I so agree about the socks over the shoes! Did the shoe print on the floor show up because the socks got so saturated with blood (or maybe one of the socks slipped off)? So little has been said of that shoe print. If she was wearing socks over her shoes, it must surely follow that she sneaked back in, was taking photos out of Travis’ awareness, then flung the door open (hence the shocked final photo of his face) and maybe shot him at that point.

Mornin’, friendy!
Story #2…the dude who claims it will be a mistrial? Yeah….he’s probably the one offering his sperm to her.
*shudders*
B, DA reading here? Can we highlight the ‘socks over her shoes = pre -med?
WOW! JM needs you in that court room!
RE#2 Pat-You might be surprised what we are capable of doing. My husband has advanced Parkinson’s. If he stands and falls or falls from his chair, I pick him up – I’m 5’8″/140, he 6’0/205 and get him resituated. He’s dead weight but I’ll drag, pull, lift, roll him. I always laugh and reassure him he’ll soon be upright. I’ve got bruises, breaks cuts and a wicked potty mouth from my not so graceful ways! I can definitely see how JA was able to move the body regardless of size.
Oh Blink, us Texicans would be honored and lucky to have you! LOL, your bestie sounds terrific!!!
So, the reason I asked if Jodi kept journaling after Travis’ death is because I believe her journal was being used as a manipulative tool against him. She only wrote what she wanted him to believe then she would show it to him.
If she no longer journaled after the murder it further supports my suspicions on the matter… that is was a tool used only to manipulate Travis.
If she did continue to journal after and she did not mention herself as the murderer but only that Travis was killed, then that makes it more bizarre and could indicate she is so manipulative as to have been preparing for it to be found and read by LE.
Looks like Nurmi is playing fast and loose with the law again. Isn’t it a miracle that these journal pages just “happened” to show up? How can they be allowed this late in the game?
OK, I’m reeling with the new information that NOW JA let Travis read her journals, and HE MADE her tear out the derogatory stuff about him!
Come on! How does the judge allow this BS in! She’s lying, contradicting what she said on cross. I’ll never be sure about a verdict after c-creature’s trial, but right now I can’t believe any juror would vote to acquit.
I am pro death penalty for certain types of crimes, and this one fits for me. I knew nothing about this case and stumbled upon it here. I didn’t start watching till after the prosecutor rested his case.
I came into the 2nd day of Nurmi’s cross, and had no opinion one way or the other. I’ve watched since then, and right now would vote DP.
Her continuous story changing, on the stand, leaves me cold and convinced she planned this. She shifts her responses, emotions, and personality several times a day, depending on what she thinks will benefit her. She actually makes the hair on my neck stand up.
I think we saw some of the REAL JA at times during cross, and that’s when she got nasty with JM. I believe she’s completely capable of killing again, and again, and again.
That Walmart receipt-
The one in court- it wouldn’t exist anymore had she returned the can- it would be all hosed up with a stapled new receipt with the returned transaction etc,, she is scre#%&#d on this lie.
Did she pay for it with cash? If not, it was reproducable.
B
The death penalty is appropriate for crimes of this nature. However, it has little effect on those who commit them as long as the long drawn out appeal procedures are in place.
The right way do handle these death sentences is to have an automatic court of Appeals review within six months and if the appeal does not find error in the trial courts procedures, the sentence is carried out within 30 days. Leaving a murderer to sit in a cell for twenty years or more does not send the right message.
Thomas Jefferson believed that if you were given a death sentence on Monday that the gallows awaited the convicted on Tuesday. That may sound harsh, but justice was swift in those times.
The other thing is to make it a long sentence felony (25 years) for any lawyer or prosecutor to hide evidence or make up evidence that materially affects a trial.
Debit card.
Then there is a record of the return if there was one. It could be the prosecution waited to long to attempt to subpoena that record, or more likely she had 5 different stories?
Can someone remind me of the name of the salon she got her nails done and her method of payment?
B
Elizabeth
You got caught in the bored cop syndrome. He really didn’t have any reason to stop you other than your Indiana car tag. I hope you actually had more room in front of that 18 wheeler than he said. Those big trucks when loaded are 80,000 lbs or more and even with air brakes have a lot longer stopping distance than your car. The mass-force relationship is not in your favor if you get hit by them. Stay safe!
When you pay cash at Walmart they circle the entry and return to you the original. receipt. With a credit card you have a stapled copy of the new transaction attached to the original.
She could not remember the salon where her nails were done
Also could remember if they did hair there also. What a crock
Sorry she could not remember if hair was done in that nail salon is what I remember.
Re above- I want to say she didn’t recall- that is was in a strip mall is all she was able to muster. I am hoping JM will be able to remind her. That and maybe he will refresh her about the Walmart return or their policies on returns. ?
Late to the party today
Wonder if she got the gun from Matt IF it is truly a coincidence that the g’rents happened to get robbed?
There is something funky with this Matt character. ..not sure what tho!
Juan should be granted re-cross from the judge due to defense shenanigans IMO.
@Elizabeth. that is very weird. be thankful they were real cops.
Imo you were stopped due to rental plates (red car?);
imo that was a random drug exploration if you were at 66 in a 65.
I just drove OH & PA turnpikes again Sunday.
OH is 70 mph; police blanket it, but only stop if over 80 plus,
and no semi leaves over 2 car lengths passing. 6, what a joke in OH.
PA–you ‘re lucky if you make Breezewood alive, no police ever in sight.
Thank you to those who posted live streaming recommendation yesterday.
It works!
Where was Nurmi going with the car conversation? Sounds to me she had several friends she could borrow a car from to take her trip to Arizona but she chose to rent one instead. Of course we all know why. Looks like a plus for the prosecution to me.
Blink, I’m reposting this as it’s still in mod. You can delete the duplicate.

But…but…how did it make you feeeellll???
Ugh, I’m sorry, I just can’t with Nurmi. I just can’t.
I swear I’m going to go full on crazy if he keeps dragging each word out. And, really…he’s a lawyer, in a pretty high profile case at that.
Can he not have better fitting clothes?
Ok, I’m fixing to just quit watching and watch the recaps and read about it. lol
BTW, did anyone catch the bus that Jodi threw MM under? She’s about gone through a whole fleet of buses.
Memory lapses and fog and nervous breakdowns (Oh My!) from being yelled at or stressed…..really!?!
According to the defendant 99.9% of her relationship with Travis was stressful and full of yelling…so how could she posdibly remember any of their relationship if we are to believe this joke of an explanation.
This is the lamest attempt to explain her NON-EXISTENT memory failures… pathetic.
Christy said – BTW, did anyone catch the bus that Jodi threw MM under? She’s about gone through a whole fleet of buses.
~~~~~~
OH yes! Hmmmmm, will we be seeing MM as a rebuttal witness for the prosecution?
She seems to be making eye contact with a particular person on the jury. She looks toward a certain positon with her eyes very often if you watch her.
What Christy said. I turned Nurmi off in order to avoid stabbing myself in the neck.
Whose ‘MM’?
Old BF.
B
Travis had an all-access pass to her body. She gave out alot of “backstage” passes, didn’t she?
Everything about this re direct is wrong and driving me to distraction..All I can think of is how VERY long the tie is that Nurmi is wearing. I have never seen a tie that long in my life. And the pattern.
Yup, just about bored enough to stop following the trial and just wait for the verdict. Almost.
if Arias gets off, I bet any network would offer Arias and Anthony a reality show.. like Kardashian sisters who do ” Kim and Courtney Take Miami” .
The Arias /Anthony show could be called ” Jodi and Casey take… Lives”.
They can knock of anyone they want each week. At the end of each show, the tag would be Jodi saying ” No jury will convict me!” and casey will say ” Bella vita!” as they wink, turn their backs and skip down the road.
My language today would make a drunken sailor blush as I yell at my t.v.
Did Nurmi actually just insinuate that since Jodi doesn’t actually remember the stabbing and slashing that perhaps she didn’t? That she is accepting responsibility for these actions because logically it would have been her based on what she has been told….he did not just go there, did he?
There is no evidence that anyone else was present and to insinuate otherwise is b.s.. ..her claim is self defense, prove that, don’t hint she didn’t stab/slash because she doesn’t remember. .
Nurmi is as bad as his client..lets just make up sh*t as we go, throw it against the wall and see what sticks…he knows they are losing the battle so now he’s trying to get creative and it’s insulting to say the least…
You got caught in the bored cop syndrome.
Yeah, ATG, that’s exactly what I thought. If I’d been speeding I would have broken into a sweat but was simply curious why he would pull me over. I’m currently driving such a high tech car, I froze the computer screen of my speed and had it there if I needed it. He knew I wasn’t speeding. I was sweet and cordial, my dog’s tail was spinning like a helicopter, she was so glad to see them. I think he felt a little bad about pulling me over.
@Elizabeth. that is very weird. be thankful they were real cops.
I thought of that later, Rose, not sure what I’d have done in that case–probably gunned it and left them on the shoulder if I was lucky enough to be able to.
Sounds like Nurmi might be wrapping up! It will be hard getting through the experts paid to attest to Jodi’s PTSD. I’m just not buying it. I’ve come to the conclusion she is demon spawn. I hate being a cynic, but not once in the last 4 years has she sincerely expressed regret for hurting and killing Travis. You’d think a deep, sobbing “I’m so sorry” would work it’s way to the surface. I think it would with a normal, healthy person but a normal, healthy person wouldn’t butcher someone. As for Nurmi, I keep expecting lightning to strike him any minute now.
I noticed almost every one of nurmi’s questions are leading! Boy, they have definitely rehearsed this over and over again. He can anticipate her every amswer!!!
————————————————————
Can you imagine how the Alexander family feels?
100 questions from Jurors.
100 questions! lol!
I can’t believe that the jury even has ONE question, let alone 100!
1. How long have you been Redacted by blink?
Oops! Did I just speak outloud?
2. Did you spend more that $2 on those hideous glasses?
3. Was the rope longer than Nurmi”s tie?
4. Do you prefer lethal injection or hanging?
100 questions from the jurors and it will take Jodi about four months to answer them.
I think the juror’s questions are what THEY will care about. It’s discouraging
there are so many. Are they not screened for overlap?
I did worry seeing the family cry so pitifully, and the sister’s eye motions,
that days of that on the front row could become an appellate issue.
Has the Defense ever raised their demeanor with the Judge?
Objection, leading. Sustained. Rinse, repeat. It’s like a dang wash cycle without the camera.
Nurmi has lost all my respect, speaking in a manner as if everyone has delayed cognitive reasoning. Obviously he and his sidekick didn’t have time to review everything JM tore apart so he just decided to lead her through his contrived version. Fail.
100 questions!
@Futureman – LOL, stab yourself in the neck!!! I was bouncing between eyes or ears!
Blink, does JA get to see the juror questions before answering them?
Both sides will, and then the judge will hear objections, of which there will be plenty, lol
B
I apologize, I am being awfully chatty, but….did I hear JA say she got the gun out of a holster? Is that what JM was asking, too?
Ditto. Wow on the number of questions.
