Phoenix, Arizona- In today’s highly anticipated morning testimony,  Jodi Arias finally “gets there”.

After weeks of what can only be described as the dog ate my defense testimony led by Kirk Nurmi,  Jodi Arias explains the events leading up to and during the murder of Travis Alexander.

Arias describes an irate and menacing Travis who bounds from the shower, causing her to drop his new camera and pouncing on her, knocking her to the wet tile floor.

“ A five year old can hold a camera better than you.” Arias stated Alexander screamed at her among other threatening expletives while she struggled to break free.

She then ran to the master bedroom closet and apparently using the Spiderman techniques she absorbed via osmosis from the alleged Valentines gift,  retrieved a gun she claimed Travis owned over two feet out of her reach while he was sprinting behind her.

She pointed the gun at him, did not realize it went off and then Travis, still coming at her, stumbles to his knees on the now bloody tile beneath him.  ( Editors Note:  As I have always said,  I believe the order of this injury is true and is important to the charges against her)

Enter gratuitous memory gap.

“I have no memory of stabbing him.” – Jodi Arias

Although Arias admits to having flash backs,  she states she cannot remember any other details with the exception of her crouched in the bathroom covered in blood and drops a knife she believes was upstairs used by Travis to cut ropes he used to tie her up to the bed.

She did however, have the presence of mind to grab the ropes, the gun, apparently removes and loses her shoes and has no idea what happened to the knife she used to stab Alexander 29 times and slit his neck from ear to ear.

Next memory she is driving in the desert with the gun she alleges was Travis’s  when she pitches it out the window at a random location,  then puts the ropes in a dumpster behind a gas station and washes blood off her hands.

Pause for Arias innocuous driving babble and road scenery.

“Why didn’t you call 911 and tell them what happened?”  Kirk Nurmi asks his sniffling but tearless client.

” …He attacked you, why did you feel You messed up pretty badly?”

“This time it was different, he had done it before and nothing happened, it was heightened.” Responded Arias.

While approaching a check point in Utah,  she feels like she will be apprehended there.

Arias decided to do a “whole bunch of things” to cover up she was ever there.

So .. “I called his phone to leave a voice mail”.  For nearly 16 minutes she says she tried numerous times to leave a cheery voice mail  to ask as if she was not present in Alexander’s home.

“I just thought they would be listening to his voice mail, so I just thought it would throw the scent off for a while.”

– Jodi Arias

Yes, she actually said that on the stand.   Defense Attorney Kirk Nurmi was observed writing a note to co-counsel Jennifer Wilmott to send an assistant out to Sam’s for an industrial size supply of Tums.

I made that part up.  Testimony continues following jury lunch break.

The fact that the ONLY word she can come up with to explain away her lies and attempts to “clean up” after herself is “ASHAMED” shows that self defense had no part in what happened that day.

If I had taken a life in self defense. .well I would have reported it and not lied and tried to cover things up…anyway, I think I would use words like “RELIEVED” or “VINDICATED” to say you are ashamed in this situation clearly shows that you know what you did was WRONG and certainly not done to save your life.

This is mean, but I have to say it….I wish Juan would have said (although it would havd been objected and sustained) “You said no jury will convict me, because you had planned to commit suicide, YET HERE YOU SIT ALIVE AND WELL TODAY! RIGHT?”

LOL @ Christy! I couldn’t handle it, either. I turned the channel. Noticed her memory is foggier? Details are shady. It was all I could take.

First, I don’t get the pedophile angle. Why was it necessary to throw this lie in, on top of the self defense bs? It makes zero sense to me and sticks out like a ‘broken finger’. If she’s going to lie, make it relevant. “I walked in on him viewing porn on his computer many times….” Wouldn’t this be more congruent to the sex addict theme? It’s too much of a stretch, imo, painting him as a pedophile, on top of all the other monstrous qualities he possessed (according to Miss Congeniality). Over the top, much? Also, why would this woman talk about baby IRIS’S w/ Travis if he was a bonafide cyber child porn addict? Where’s the proof? Defense….hello?!?!!!! Where is the evidence on Travis’ hard drive?

…and the defense re-direct is moving like molasses in winter. OH.MY. WORD! Both of them….Nurmi and Arias talking like it’s a lovely sunny afternoon, sipping on pink lemonade on the front porch. Ummm. Ahhh. I think. If I recall. YES OR NO?!? What does she have to have an answer for everything? AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP!

I’m personally sick of how they can sling anything at the jury w/o ‘complete evidence’. The jury is only seeing Travis’ text messages or emails. Obviously, there’s a 2 way conversation taking place between Travis and Jodi.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense to me. It’s funny, I’m remembering endless discussions we had here in CT about that during the OJ trial! LOL We had good reason to believe the weapon came from here in CT, and a lot of us knew before it was even in the newspapers that the FBI came here to find out about it. Anyway I remember people saying that it wouldn’t matter even if it was found a YEAR later and had been cleaned a hundred times, they’d still be able to find evidence of blood. Maybe not enough to test but they’d be able to tell. Something about how blood reacts with the steel or is absorbed in the steel. I don’t know. There were so many wild stories going around I guess it was a complete urban myth. I thought if forensics people COULD find blood even a year later, they could say well all these knives have been tested and they were NOT the murder weapon, so you must have brought it with you. Kind of reverse proof. Never mind LOL about those posts earlier…

On the stand, Jodi sounds like she’s at a business meeting. Today she said, “My philosophy then was that it’s not okay to kill someone under any circumstances.” And instead of saying things like, “I didn’t mean it! I never would have hurt him! I loved him!” She says things like, “That was not my ultimate goal at that point in time.” She really is well spoken but she’s not speaking from the heart! Why does she talk like that? She didn’t talk like that in audios and videos from back in 2008.

She IS at a business meeting. The business of speaking through one of her alters.

I am bordering on some unprofessional snarkisms if this continues. I could see Futureman bringing it out in me, lol

Aren’t there 18 jurors including the alternates? That’s approximately 5 questions per juror. I know I would have at least that many questions to be clear on parts of the testimony. At the rate this has been going it might be weeks before the jury gets to deliberate. Hash and re-hash!!

For as long as she has been on the stand, I honestly don’t find that high, and keep in mind, they are not reading each others, could be dupes.

Nurmi was asking didn’t she have access to lots of guns, why stage a robbery for her grandfather’s gun? She said she could have just bought one, and that her father had lots of guns, the other ex-BF had lots of guns, and that Matt McCartney had UNREGISTERED guns and that’s illegal. So he’s probably being paid a visit by the police as we speak.

Holster. ..hmmm interesting…if I was going to keep a gun in a completely useless place like the back corner of the highest shelf in my closet that I could in no way reach without a step stool or something I would probably keep it in a holster….said no one ever except Jodi Arias

Umm noooooo….i would keep it some place accessible where I could easily get to it in an emergency if needed and put it in a box or a handgun case or maybe even a night stand drawer…

What kind of holster..shoulder, belt, ankle,???? Next she’s gonna say he was a super secret government agent and thats why he had the gun and the holster…it also came with super secret invisible ammo that only super secret agents can see….

I can only imagine what kind of stories Jodi would have told if she didn’t have a defense team to stop some of them… I’m still disappointed that this is the best defense they could script in 4 years…

Through it all, the sexcapades, the overkill on tapes…none proves abuse or self defense. At this point it’s a dog and pony show to keep her on the stand. Disappointed Prosecution focused too much on raunchy sex. Should have dismissed her and not given her anymore time on that subject and focused more on the things that point to her guilt. But bottom line, the facts remain: She rented a non-descript car, used multiple gas cans to conceal the fact that she was in Arizona, dyed her hair not to be noticed, turned her license plates up side down, destroyed and threw away evidence, lied about EVERYTHING to save her skin, done everything possible to destroy Travis’s reputation, stabbed him 27 times, slit his throat to near decapitation, and shot him in the face. Sorry honey, NOT self defense moves. GUILTY as charged (that’s my verdict). All of it makes me sick and I feel so sorry for his family, knowing he was with that evil beast they call a woman.

  17. Joan says:

I think it’s great that jurors can ask questions in Arizona. I wonder if they can ask her things like, were you angry when he was dating Mimi Hall? If you thought he was still officially dating her when he was bringing her to Cancun, then didn’t you think he was being unfaithful to her when you were having phone sex with him in May? How did that make you feel?

  18. A Texas Grandfather says:

One would think the jurors would spend some time organizing their questions into categories so they could be consolidated for presentation.

Jodi is playing a game with the court. She thinks that they will not be able to convict her and if they do it will be a lessor charge than she now faces. I am beginning to think that she has multiple versions of Jodi that she presents for various occasions.

  19. Jden says:

Dr Drew’s two courtroom monitors said that the jury won’t even look at Arias anymore and some are appearing very bored. A young man leaned back and uttered an audible sigh at the repeated KY conversation.

  20. Joan says:

I am sorry that I criticized Juan Martinez. The only other trial I’ve ever seen was the OJ case so I was SHOCKED at how aggressive he was. I’ve never seen anything like that. My father is a retired court clerk, and he said ALL prosecutors are aggressive. Juan Martinez may be more aggressive than the vast majority, and he needs to be careful that the jury doesn’t start to view the entire defense as the underdog, but you know, Juan Martinez has had success with his style in the past. And he did point out a lot. The most significant thing I think he pointed out was that she had the presence of mind to try to cover up her crime in Travis’s house while she was in a blacked out fog.

  21. patricia says:

I am really disappointed that the prosecution doesn’t get another swipe at her after all the new bullticky she spewed today. If I was a juror and I wrote a question, I would want it asked exactly as I wrote it, not presented after some interpretation by a bunch of dumbunnies that didn’t get the answers I needed in the first place.

Here are just a couple of my questions.

Was the grandfathers gun in a holster when it was stolen? (maybe she was weilding the knife and wearing the gun at the inception of the terror.)

Why didn’t anyone ask her how in the he}} the murder photos were taken when she testified that she dropped the camera and she never testified that she picked it back up? (Nope, she just started jogging toward the closet.)

If she can remember climbing the closet shelves, she can remember picking up the camera and shooting the crime? Right?

Was the rental car forensically tested for blood/gun powder/nastiness?

If she wanted to kill herself, why isn’t she dead?

Today she said that she didn’t want to gouge his eyes out, but decapitation didn’t seem to be a problem for her. She shows no remorse for the terror she caused to this man that she supposedly loved.

What is the reason she introduced child porn (when porn would have sufficed), the rope (when anal sex isn’t kinky enough), her usual order at Starbucks(?)?? Was it to reiterate previous versions of the day (i.e. I was never there, It was ninja’s) or to elaborate in her 15 minutes of fame. Which by the way was up a long time ago. Sorta wishing this wench never got her puss on the tv in the first place.

I am pretty sure she is going to fry in he}}. I just want it to be sooner than later. Eye for an Eye. She is EVIL and I hope the jury can see through her lies and deception.

I hope the jurors get their answers. And, I hope the Alexander family gets their opportunity to defend their brother’s honor/reputation.

AJMOO. Peace to Travis. Prayers to his family.

  22. whodunit says:

Biggest problem with death penalty MAY just be that the jury is not fully away that they are ALLOWED to have some doubt- but that they need to depend on their common sense about REASONABlE doubt.
It is just not reasoable that Arias would rent a car 100 miles from her house, avoid going stright to Utah if that was truly her destination ( hello she had a phone, if the reason she went south was to take baby pictures all she had to dowas cal to confirm before she went there), then she loses liscence plates, has gas cans to save money buying gas in calif, but buys gas in calif anyway, loses cellphone charger, kills travis, drives to nowhere and disposes of weapons that she has no memory of using, mentions nothing to romantic interest in Utah except that she got lost, tells a woman that night at dinner that she hopes one day her children will play with travis’s ( though today saying she didnt want to have kids with him,=”because.. you know”) goes back to Yreka and reports for work next day. Calls Flores and asks him if there was a gun involved before Flores said anything other than that they found him dead, says she wasn’t there, they show her pics, so she says ninjas did it, chooses to represent herself for years until the evidence of the forged letters was denied, then claimed self defense-
COME ON. The only way any of this sounds reasonable is IF she intended to kill him . Whether she thought about it for ten seconds or ten days , she thought about it and was prepared to do it and did it. Otherwise, she has told an UNREASONABLE tale.

  23. Mom3.0 says:

I learned she did not back track for the gun she made the conscious decision to take the extra time to retrieve it instead of putting more distance between she and Travis…

Okay please correct me if Iam wrong but Martinez does get to speak with her again if new info arose right?

The holster is new info and it seems to me her whole story of the closet is way off- she testified today that she jumped up retrieved the gun or was just coming down with it when travis was entering/opening the door…then she ran out of the closet and she testified that he was closer to her at this point then he had been- immediately lunged etc –

when did she remove the gun from its holster- most .25 have holsters that are snug some button that takes time- she says she immediately turned and pointed arms outstretched.

    -

    Does not compute

also what person fearing for their life doesnt just exit instead of taking a chance the gun was no longer there?no longer loaded etc etc.

    Again does not compute-

add to that she testified today she had no other choice she was cornered..he just kept coming-

she didnt run back thru the hallway she didnt hide in the bathtub…she stopped in the middle of the bathroom and aimed to shoot- she did not run to the commode room and lock herself in with the gun- which IMO most battered women would if they couldnt make it to the bedroom exit- you go into the bathroom and you say loudly-” I have a gun i will shoot if you come thru that door back off”– and it isnt a matter of just shooting she had to most likely push the safe ty etc

    AJMO Peace

  24. NaNa says:

Joan, as a former juror (sat on the jury for 5 days)…you are not allowed to talk to other jurors about the trial while proceedings are going on and you cannot compare notes. You cannot discuss the case at all until you start deliberation. Even then we (the jury) were cautioned not to share our notes. we could refer to them during deliberation, but other people on the jury could not read our notes. We had to use testimony and other evidence presented in court if our own notes didn’t suffice.

Obviously, when the other jurors hear each others questions it will provide insight, and they will hear answers to questions they didn’t think to ask.

At the rate this is all going I wonder how many more weeks trial is going to last. Jury questions, time for the defense counsel to read each question, and for JA and her team to make up some ridiculous lie to match the question. I think they should read the question out loud while she is on the witness stand and she should answer the question without prompting or counsel. (I wish!)

We still have ‘expert’ testimony to hear (I use that term loosely). This could get lengthy.

Personally, as a juror I wouldn’t have any questions for her because, well, it’s clear she’s a liar and that this wasn’t self defense, so what’s to ask? The response to their questions will, of course, be so rehearsed and crafted that asking it will be a waste of time. Still, I’m not judging those men and women. They are sitting through this torture every day and listening to the gory details. Im just praying that at the end of the day, the truth is revealed and justice is served.

Once again it’s all about Jodi. She wanted Travis all to herself and couldn’t stand the focus was on him instead of her. If you watch this on a bigger screen, you can see her flash a fake litle grin when she raises up from her pretend nap. His friends said she was acting like this in front of about 20 people and what about that obvious PDA that she says never happened? They’re supposed to show the rest of the video tomorrow on Dr.Drew.

The statement that Travis made in this video, “All the despair I can muster up with my retina” was really chillin to me considering the way he looked in that last photo of him alive.

  27. Mom3.0 says:

Her tale of the masturbating to boys pic story is a complete lie- imo

For all the reasons I mentioned before- for all the reasons Martinez brought out in his cross AND because today I had an idea

    Heres her testimony snipped:

ARIAS: I walked in and Travis was on the bed masturbating. And I got really embarrassed. Even though we had been intimate, like more times than I could count, it was just kind of awkward walking in on him like that.

And I was headed toward the dresser, then I stopped, and I was trying to think of something funny or witty to say, like, Do you still need my help, or something. And he started grabbing at something on the bed, and I realized they were papers.

And as he was grabbing the papers, one kind of went sailing off the bed and it fell in that pattern that paper falls and it landed face up near my feet, and it was a photograph .

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What is in the photograph? What was the photograph of?

ARIAS: It was a picture of a little boy.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Could you guess how old for us the little boy was?

    ARIAS: Oh, 5-ish — 5, 6. I`m not a good judge of age.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Did you recognize the little boy?

    ARIAS: No.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Was the little boy dressed?

ARIAS: He was dressed in underwear, like briefs.ARIAS: I was frozen there for a minute — well, maybe not a whole minute, but I didn`t know how to react. It kind of seemed like one of those dreams where something is really off but you just can`t — you can`t figure it out.

And so I — I left the angel there on the dresser and I turned (INAUDIBLE) and he called my name and I just ran. I didn`t stay. And I got in my car and started driving home again.

I felt nauseated. I drove all the way home, and I was trying to drive fast enough to get to — well, I was trying not to pull over to throw up. I got home and I was hitting the garage door opener about half a block away so that it would be open. And I pulled right into the garage and ran inside and threw up in the bathroom.

Here is the diagram shown in court today at 1:07:32 in the vid

and #93 the chair and the dresser where JA claims the angel was left

—Exactly how does she see all this? How does A pic fly across the room to land face up by JA feet & exactly how do photos slip/ waft off the bed- and over the top of the bottom of the sleigh BED and over the corner of the lounge to land upon the floor?

  29. krowdkat says:

If I were a juror in this trial, two things I would automatically deduce from testimony is that the remote control Jodi returned to Daryll Brewer was the remote to the DVD player that was stolen from her Grandparents home. Why else would she have a random remote hanging out in her “rental” car that she had just picked up that day. She probably sold that DVD player to Daryll for some road-trip cash and forgot to bring the remote in with the player when she first got there. In her testimony, she had no explanation about the remote. It kind of stuck out like a sore thumb to me. This in turn ties her to the stolen hand gun.

Also, I don’t know what all the hoopla about the left ring finger injury on June 4th and her denial is all about. The left palm print she left at the crime scene was mixed with her blood and Travis’s. Rocket science it is NOT to deduce her left hand was injured when she left her print on the wall. That coupled with her admission at the end of cross-examination that it was the “only” injury she sustained that day. Martinez was brilliant in drawing that out of her after he had broken her down on the stand. It was almost like she was testifying in a catatonic state while reliving the murder.
Sure hope Juan M shores up these two things in his closing argument.

You know- this whole testimony bugs me to death. There is no evidence to support any of what she said. When was that pic posted on myspace? I admit when JM was going thru that testimony with her it did take me those several playbacks to hear what he wanted to express bc it did seem like she may have been referencing a previous occasion, but still,They should show documentation not her babbling lies. Additionally, to come back and say that last shower photo is unshaven is a crock- he is a full bearded guy- he will have a shadow 2 min after shaving- his almost decap photo- which I bet JM will re-show as proof shows no beard growth, that nasty woman.

Also, if anyone can help clarify for me- yesterday- all that testimony regarding the boring journal pages- this was about the mysterious pages that had been missing and suddenly reappeared for redirect? Is this what we are to be believing? And this is the sudden bad comments she now is making towards Travis that she has never made before? This is so goofy and I am not sure this is accurate- can anyone clarify?

  35. Joan says:

    Nana,

I’m with you. I’m not judging this jury at all. I won’t. All I ask is that they be conscientious.

Jodi DOES talk a lot and I think the pressure of this trial is making her even more unfocused than she seems to be normally. I suppose the judge will keep her focused if she starts going off on tangents.

From what the judge said in court at the end of the day yesterday, it sounds like the lawyers only have an hour and a half to two hours to review the questions and decide if they want to object to any of them. I don’t know if they can go over the questions with Jodi, but even if they can, it’s not much time to rehearse answers. So this will be interesting.

Yesterday when Jodi first got on the stand, I noticed her chest rising and falling as though she had just run 5 miles. I wondered if she had to run to be on time or if she was beginning to hyperventilate from nervousness.

To be fair, a defense attorney’s job is a very difficult one. A defense attorney is the only person who stands between the defendant and the state, in this case the entire state of Arizona and the entire world because it’s so high profile. And in this case, everyone HATES Jodi. No one believes even one word she says. They want her DEAD! And now they hate Nurmi too! Things do NOT look good for her. Yet Nurmi shows up every day and treats her with dignity and even kindness, and he slowly but surely tells her side of the story such as it is. I think Nurmi is doing a great job. He doesn’t have a whole lot to work with in this case, but he plods along, and I think he has cast reasonable doubt on the premeditation accusations before June 4. I mean from Yreka to Mesa and actually until the late afternoon of June 4th. I don’t know about the late afternoon of June 4th. But he really has disproven a lot. He’s doing a great job I think. And Wilmott too! I think they’ve at least probably saved her from the death penalty. Also, I’m glad to see Nurmi showing up in court nowadays dressing more like a lawyer. LOL

JA didn’t do much on the stand to defend herself from the prosecutions charges, and definitely didn’t prove self defense, essentially stating that “I don’t remember but I’m sure it was self defense.” But I also don’t think that an effective defense was ever the intent of her testimony, at least from her attorney’s viewpoint.

    What she has accomplished is:
    1) Demonstrate that she is a human being
    2) Demonstrate that acted in a strange way and “ain’t right in the head”.
    3) Set up the foundation for her experts

It is hard to imagine a scenario where an expert can convince a jury that this was justifiable self defense. But a well spoken expert may be able to convince a jury that JA believed she was abused, believed she was at risk of her life, and killed TA as a result of her altered perception of reality, and not by malice. It might be enough to get her a lesser charge.

If she is convicted of a DP crime, we will get to see her one more time on the stand, telling her story version 4.0.

Agreed, defense attorneys have a very difficult job, i am sure in some cases the positively must dedpise their clients but can not let any of that disdain show and still perform their tasks to the best of their abilities. Nurmi is no different and i have no issue with him as an attorney per se. I have an issue with the redirect as a whole..i do feel the defense behaved a bit shady with the journal bs. My issue with Nurmi specifically is more related to his visual presence and clear lack of hygeine issues (i mean who roto-rooters their nose in open court daily) and the way he lounges about at the defense table…it just doesn’t seem…… professional?

I honestly could never be a defense attorney. I have noticed a lot of them started as prosecutors and I would assume change sides for the obvious reason of $$$, but I don’t care how much you paid me, there is no way I could defend people like Jodi, especially when there is significant evidence that your client is guilty and it’s then your job to manipulate perceptions and interpretations to get your client off..no way, it’s just not in my nature to be able to look beyond something of that magnitude to do my job…

I’d like to know how she knew the gun was there in the first place. Even if she knew he had a gun did she know where he kept it? Was it registered to him or have they checked that yet? Once he was stabbed or shot one time wouldn’t she have had plenty of time to run out of the house? Have I missed the attorneys asking her WHY did you shoot, stab and cut his throat, why not just run out when he was injured(unless you wanted him dead) we know the answer to that. Has anyone thought that maybe she had HIM tied up for a sex photo shoot and when he told her he was taking another girl on his trip, she lost it!
I’m anxious to hear the jury’s questions if the judge and her attorney let them be asked. Will the jury see all of the photo’s of Travis deceased? I think she should be made to look at every one of them during court, to remind her of this terrible crime and overkill.

Like Jodi would be truthful in her answers from jurors questions? I could see them asking the court for clarification on some of the testimony tho.

Doll, twitch, mom, joan, christy, jden, rose, ATG, whodunit, eloise, nana, malty, ode, cadillac, krowdkat, loni, all awesome posts!!!

Patricia, great questions! I sure hope the jurors are as alert as you!

Joan, you are a sweet sweet person! Thanks for reminding us that Nurmi is doing what he can for his client.

While I dislike his tactic of smearing Travis, I do believe everyone is entitled to a defense. I just don’t agree that a monster like JA has the right to completely destroy Travis’s rep without any corroboration or evidence, and the finger aint evidence imho. :~)

OK, now JA had to get the gun out of a holster??? WTH?

And she says Travis is opening the door as she’s getting the gun, but STILL she manages to evade him? Double…no, triple BS!!!!!

I think that if there should be legal repercussions for laywers who knowingingly distort, misconstrue the truth or manufacture evidence.
Yes , Nurmi has an obligation to defend Arias, and must work with her story, but he can also advise her of what her best choices are. The plea bargain Nurmi presented basically said that defense had enough evidence to overcome any charges of first degree and they would setle for second gegree, which has a sentence in Arizona of 5- 25 years. Joodi has already served 5. I think that self defense calim was manufactured based on Nurmi’s own experience with trying sex crimes, so his decision was to present the murder as a result of sex crimes against Arias, i.e. self defense. Arias admitted guilt, and her testimony is more in keeping with temp insanity, which is a whole different ball game
Also- correct me if I am wrong- but I beleive that in Arizona, there are certain restrictions aginst using experts to testify to state of mind if the experts opinions cannot be quantifiably proven.
So the experts who will also have to prove she fits the template for battered woman etc- and bottom line is that arias did not live with Travis, did not have children, was not financially dependent…. what will they say, he hypnotized her?

respectfully, there is no evidence that any evidence was manufactured in this case, or that Nurmi misconstrued anything ( that is up to a jury and not sanctionable) No way he subjorned perjury either. She is entitled to a defense under our constitution and Nurmi is bound by the Supreme Court and his membership in the AZ bar.

We can certainly find critiques as to style, I have for both sides, but I don’t want to get into meritless accusations when we are talking about sworn officers of the court.

    @linda

She “claims” she found the gun when dusting/cleaning his closet . He had hired her at one point to clean his house supposedly and had her dust his closet shelving which is when she “found” the gun. She says when she wasrunning away from him and into the closet she “remembered” the gun was up on that top shelf.

There is no record of Travis owning a gun or having one registered to his name.

This just another convenient story to explain away the theory she faked a robbery at her grandparents house where a gun of the same caliber used to shoot Travis was “stolen”…..weeks prior to the murder mind you…

Just like her “rope” story was a lie to explain how a knife she has zero recollection of stabbing/slitting Travis with ended up either in the bedroom or bathroom upstairs

Lots of “convenient” stories to explain away her “guilt” also known as complete crap!!

  48. Elizabeth says:

When Nurmi asks her if she wants to remember the events on June 4, 2008, Jodi replies, “There’s a part of me that doesn’t ever want to remember, and a part (OBJECTION!!! shouts Martinez) of me that I feel like I’m the person who deserves to sit with those memories THAT I DON’T HAVE RIGHT NOW”. Wow, as luck would have it, the Nightmare on Elm Street of my life and I get amnesia–so much for remorse, eh folks? That’s akin to saying gee, I’d like to feel bad about this, but I don’t have feelings like the rest of you inferior people. I’m just special I guess, in a sociopathic sort of way.

I’m inclined to think she probably wrote those “newly found” diary pages while sitting in her Estrella jail cell. I wish Martinez would send somebody to procure that Walmart gas can return receipt (that doesn’t exist) just to put one more nail in her coffin. I realize it’s kind of a petty lie, but it would highlight the long litany of lies the jury has been fed thus far.

When she is convicted, I want to hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir break out with the Hallelujah Chorus, piped into the Maricopa County Courthouse.

  49. Pam says:

Well today will be interesting to hear the jury questions. It will give insight into where they are in analyzing everything. I am not sure what I would ask. I do know that she was not abused and that this was not self defense. I do not think there was ever a rope. That to me is a story to explain the knife, in an attempt for this to not be pre meditated. Now there was a holster, again another lie imo to explain the distance between them when he was shot. She is still obviously adjusting her story to get away with murder. He proposed to her yeah right. He did not want to marry her. She tried to win him with sex and that did not work. When she was being cross examined, I remember her saying as if to convince everyone that he WAS trying to court her. If he was trying to court her, how come she was not the one going to cancun with him? Maybe that would be my question to her. It is sickening what she did to this man and even more sickening that she now wants to make him out to be a pedophile and an abuser. I hope this jury takes this more seriously than the Casey Anthony jury. I do not think Martinez was to harsh on her and I also think alot of his questions were designed to restore Travis reputation that she wants to destroy just to save her own skin.
