Phoenix, Arizona- In today’s highly anticipated morning testimony,  Jodi Arias finally “gets there”.

After weeks of what can only be described as the dog ate my defense testimony led by Kirk Nurmi,  Jodi Arias explains the events leading up to and during the murder of Travis Alexander.

Arias describes an irate and menacing Travis who bounds from the shower, causing her to drop his new camera and pouncing on her, knocking her to the wet tile floor.

“ A five year old can hold a camera better than you.” Arias stated Alexander screamed at her among other threatening expletives while she struggled to break free.

She then ran to the master bedroom closet and apparently using the Spiderman techniques she absorbed via osmosis from the alleged Valentines gift,  retrieved a gun she claimed Travis owned over two feet out of her reach while he was sprinting behind her.

She pointed the gun at him, did not realize it went off and then Travis, still coming at her, stumbles to his knees on the now bloody tile beneath him.  ( Editors Note:  As I have always said,  I believe the order of this injury is true and is important to the charges against her)

Enter gratuitous memory gap.

“I have no memory of stabbing him.” – Jodi Arias

Although Arias admits to having flash backs,  she states she cannot remember any other details with the exception of her crouched in the bathroom covered in blood and drops a knife she believes was upstairs used by Travis to cut ropes he used to tie her up to the bed.

She did however, have the presence of mind to grab the ropes, the gun, apparently removes and loses her shoes and has no idea what happened to the knife she used to stab Alexander 29 times and slit his neck from ear to ear.

Next memory she is driving in the desert with the gun she alleges was Travis’s  when she pitches it out the window at a random location,  then puts the ropes in a dumpster behind a gas station and washes blood off her hands.

Pause for Arias innocuous driving babble and road scenery.

“Why didn’t you call 911 and tell them what happened?”  Kirk Nurmi asks his sniffling but tearless client.

” …He attacked you, why did you feel You messed up pretty badly?”

“This time it was different, he had done it before and nothing happened, it was heightened.” Responded Arias.

While approaching a check point in Utah,  she feels like she will be apprehended there.

Arias decided to do a “whole bunch of things” to cover up she was ever there.

So .. “I called his phone to leave a voice mail”.  For nearly 16 minutes she says she tried numerous times to leave a cheery voice mail  to ask as if she was not present in Alexander’s home.

“I just thought they would be listening to his voice mail, so I just thought it would throw the scent off for a while.”

– Jodi Arias

Yes, she actually said that on the stand.   Defense Attorney Kirk Nurmi was observed writing a note to co-counsel Jennifer Wilmott to send an assistant out to Sam’s for an industrial size supply of Tums.

I made that part up.  Testimony continues following jury lunch break.

In Regards to the gas cans, could it be that Mr. Martinez possibly has found proof of tampering with evidence through burning? For a sociopath or psychopath, she isn’t very bright- it isn’t inconceivable that she attempted to burn her clothes and the gun and anything else with that third gas can. She possibly had a little bon fire in the middle of the dessert.

We don’t know the size of the cans she borrowed. However, there were receipts for gas purchased so that had to be split between the containers. A small car with a small engine is capable of highway mileage up to 30 or more gallons on flat terrain and less on mountainous terrain. Most of Arizona is mountains except for the valleys where the cities are located. It is the same for Utah and some of California.

    ———————————————————————-

I think and I could be wrong, but I think the rcpts showed that the gas purchased was for 5 gallon tanks. So she would have had 3 five gallon tanks. Also something that came to me is to be totally undetected she would not just need enough gas to get from his house to Utah but also enough to get from as least that state line of CA TO his house and then to Utah. Sometimes my brain just slows down lol. Not sure about the size of the tank in the car but I think that was 15 gallons as well. I am not sure where all her gas stops were, but she definately needed that thrid can to go undetected in AZ.

The only way I could see Jodi committing suicide is by accident from a pretend standpoint. She will convince herself that Travis deserved what she did to him and will mentally justify her acts.

If Jodi bought anything from Wal-Mart and returned it for a refund or exchange, there will be a record of the return with her signature.

Try Academy Sports for the little Bersa. This is actually a pistol that is patterned after a Bretta. Look them up on the web.

Since you are ex military, you probably have some experience with rifles and pistols. I would still consider a 22LR as a practice gun in addition to the larger caliber for carry. Ammunition costs are so much lower per shell for 22LR. Save your brass at your practice sessions. Reloaders are always looking for a source at a good price.

Matt McCartney has admitted to forging the “pedophile” letters that Jodi tried to have admitted as evidence (precluded and determined forgeries) and her mother has since tried to sell to the National Enquirer. Matt has immunity and has turned state’s evidence.

    IF this is indeed true….
    1) explains his involvement (most of us have thought there was something more to the mystery of Matt)
    2) explains why Juan keeps going back to “he is your friend who would never betray you” comments
    3) explains the coded magazine message
    4) proves her pedophilia story is a total crock she invented when she came up with the lame ass self defense claim
    5) proves she blatantly LIED ON THE STAND
    6) Discredits some of the fluff her “experts” will claim
    7) restores Travis’ reputation and absolves him of being branded a pedophile

If..and I do mean IF this proves to be true….WOW! I hate to get my hopes up…but I really hope this is true!!

  8. Joan says:

    A Texas Grandfather,

Thanks for responding to my post. I know I’m not getting the sociopath definition. Well, I’m getting it but it’s taking me awhile to grasp it completely. With Austin Sigg, I understand the psychopath label completely. He’s like some exotic, very dangerous animal that none of us will ever really understand. The description that he feels no guilt explains it just right.

With Jodi Arias, at the very beginning of the trial I thought if she had just had a very good friend to talk to when she got back to Yreka, this whole thing might have been avoided. She was hurt and jealous. Brokenhearted. The smartest thing she did was moving back to Yreka, away from Mesa. But now I’m seeing that she doesn’t listen to anyone. I’m seeing what you’re saying, that a good friend to listen and cheer her up wouldn’t have helped her the way it helps everyone else. Because yes, she has her own version of reality. She’s not truthful, even to herself I guess, and if anyone calls her on it, she REALLY doesn’t like it. I’m sure that’s why she doesn’t get along with her parents. That she doesn’t get along with her parents even now explains a lot about her to me.

I’ve known a few people like this. They’re not truthful and you CAN’T call them on it, even gently. They get touchy. So I’ve seen that part of the sociopath thing. I’m beginning to understand it. I’ll get there. What I’ve always wondered about the few that I know, and now I wonder about Jodi Arias, is do THEY believe their version of reality or are they just trying to fool everyone else? I suspect they know what the truth is but it’s completely unacceptable to them to be perceived to be at a disadvantage. Do you agree with that?

  9. Joan says:

If Juan Martinez catches Jodi Arias on a minor detail that is clearly a lie when he does his closing arguments, I think it will be this one: When she was pulled over in Utah for having only one license plate and the other one being upside down, she told him they fixed it right then and there. He asked her if she needed anything to fix it and I think she said she needed a screwdriver and someone loaned her one. Does anyone remember if she had to get screws and bolts somewhere? Or did she have to use some of the screws and bolts from the rear license for the front? I don’t remember her saying anything about needing screws and bolts.

So if skaters were playing a practical joke by putting her license plates on upside down, and they were interrupted so they left the front one off, why wouldn’t she have found the screws and bolts of the front one on the ground too? How is it she had the screws and bolts handy to re-affix the license plate in Utah?

  10. Joan says:

I think Travis and his friends were trying to figure out what to do about Jodi. Especially Travis because his friends may not have known the extent of it. What could he have done? I remember wishing he had made sure police reports were followed through, and wishing he had changed the locks on his doors and removed the doggie door. Someone on this site pointed out that Jodi probably would have been so mad if he did those things, it would have escalated the situation. I’m seeing that.

What CAN we do about people like Jodi? What’s the best way to handle them? What could Travis have done?

I have to say, the more I learn about sociopaths, the more I think I know a few of them. They haven’t killed anyone. They’ve never broken the law. But they do damage to people. Personally, they’ve caused me grief at work and at home and they’ve done damage to friends and relatives and to me. Over the years, we’ve all had endless conversations trying to figure out what’s the best ways to deal with them, but none of us has used the word “sociopath.” I’m reading now that Martha Stout’s book on sociopaths is more of a “street guide” to sociopaths. LOL But I think that’s what I need. I need a street guide. Blink, do you recommend that book?

  11. Joan says:

I think Jodi started planning the trip after Travis confronted her and they had a big argument. That was when he said she was the worst thing that had ever happened to him and he called her a sociopath. She probably planned to “confront” him in person, just like she did with all her boyfriends in the past when they broke up.

  13. whodunnit says:

The jury asked Arias if a screwdriver was needed to reattach a lisence plate. It was worded specifically, it did NOT say ” did YOU use a screwdriver”.. etc- which is why it stood out to me as a question.

The thing is, when you take each of Arias reasons ( for whatever), one by one, yes they do make some sense, the way any manufactured excuse can make sense. And I am sure that in the past 5 years, she has gone over one by one to come up with explanations of things that are damning.

BUT when you put everything together, THAT is when her story becomes unreasonable.

If you get overwhelmed by the endless and often unneccesary detail Arias and her lawyer are putting forth in this trial, it will take up the valuable brain power you need for LOGIC and REASONABLE THINKING.

And a lot of people stay on friendly terms after they break up. But Jodi’s group of ex-boyfriends seem more like minions.

  16. A Texas Grandfather says:

There is no registration of guns in Arizona. The purchase record at the place of purchase is the only record. A federal background check is made at the time of purchase, but the particular gun or guns being purchased is not a part of the transaction. Gun registration is mostly done in the states of the Northeast. It is a state registry, not national.

The license plate story could be simple to explain if we knew what make and model of the rental car. Some vehicles have plate frames that require special screws and will not allow all four screws to mount if mounted upside down. The holes in the plate don’t match.

Two screws will hold the plate for a while. This would allow the upside down mounting.

Having only observed sociopathic behavior, it is not known by me if they invest the made up stories as real truth. It is my opinion that they do at some point.

  17. Jden says:

I’m thinking that when the Arias’ coded magazines were intercepted by prison guards, they were provided to the State. This was within two weeks after MM testified and prior to a hearing. MM was likely then questioned by Martinez about witness tampering, for one and a list of illegal stances. Maybe that is when MM “turned” on Arias. Maybe he was given immunity in exchange for information which will prove to be detrimental to Arias this week.

If Martinez gets a conviction… and I think he will, he will have proven himself to be an excellent prosecutor. If in the process Martinez clears Travis’ reputation… and I think that is imminent, he is a genius with a heart. There would be only one peace travis’ family can receive greater than that, and that is the peace that passes All understanding.

  18. Jden says:

If there is any question in your mind what a sick, sociopathic monster Arias is, review Day 3 testimony of the ME and also the testimony of Lisa Daidone. Note Arias’ fascination with the autopsy pictures. She hides behind her hair from the jury but the direct camera angle shows her self proclaimed (to Flores) morbid curiosity, even removing her glasses to get a better look. Which also begs the question… if she removes the glasses for close up and also far away, what purpose do the glasses serve?
When Martinez revealed the full throat slash picture during Lisa’s testimony, Travis’ sisters instantaneously left the room as Lisa gasped and looked down… Arias looked up, eyes wide open and stared at the photo. Mind you, when sanity briefly kicked in she hid behind her mop and pretended to cry… and why does the media always say Arias was sobbing? Wouldn’t sobbing involve real tears and heartache, both of which Arias has shown to be incapable? People, hiding your face and wiping at your nose is not a sign of discontent… it’s more likely an indication of lying.

I am so ready for this week, wishing we could all be watching in the courtroom… I would love to see and feel it firsthand… feeling confident that Martinez will end the nonsense.

  19. krowdkat says:

The whole upside down license plate thing is curious. We know that Jodi did not want to rent the red car because she didn’t want to stand out to law enforcement on her trip.

She says that the “skaters” must have flipped it around 10 p.m. at the Starbucks in Pasedena CA (according to receipt @ 20:41 hours on June 3. I really don’t believe this is when it was done.

Remember, she is still in stealth mode and wants to slip in and out of AZ without detection. (Upside down plate would scream for Law Enforcement to pull you over).

And after she murdered Travis, I just don’t see her making it through Hoover Dam Security Checkpoint and not getting stopped because of the upside down plate.

So, she either didn’t go to Burn’s house via the Hoover Dam checkpoint or she flipped her plate somewhere between the Hoover Dam Checkpoint and Burns’ house.

I think she flipped it well inside of UTA so she would get pulled over at some point to try and establish an alibi way outside of Mesa.

ATG – yes, I’ve shot M-16s, 9mm, AR-15. For some reason, I’m very comfortable with the rifle. Maybe because I can shoulder it which helps balance the weight for me.

All the handguns so far are just too heavy. The 9mm was the easiest for me. I am going to try out the 22LR, and I want to try the Bersa, too, so thanks for all your help!

I noticed in the recreation of the arm over the shoulder business, Jodi had her fingers tightly cupped together for a period of time prior to the pose. Not the casual loose fingers in the pic they were recreating. Or am I just seening things????

Also some one asked and sorry I cannot say which poster it was, but asked what Travis could have done re: Jodi and her stalking ways. Being a victim of a stalker for years (since 89) I can say that there is not much he could have done. It would have been better probably if he had not continuted associating with her in any way, but even that probably would not have helped, as that also could have enraged her enough to act out violently. Given the distance she travelled, NOTHING would have stopped her. He would had to have known that her stalking ways would have resulted in a fight to the death. This is hard to know unless you have educated yourself on stalkers and the criteria for it to get to that point. Some of the criteria in this instance is just not there from what I know. If he had filed police reports and had gotten a restraining order, those things would not have saved his life. They would only be tools that could be used for law enforcement to press charges and also would probably help the prosecution case now if it were to be allowed in.

  22. pale rider says:

Here’s a site that has morphed the face pic of Travis. They cut it in half then formed 2 separate pics by mirroring each half.

What I see is fear on the left one and anger on the right.

I just viewed the autopsy photos. No wonder the Alexander family walked out during the presentation of evidence. If I were a juror there would be NO doubt in my mind she is guilty of premeditated murder in the first degree. What is worse than viewing the photos is the defense trashing Travis Alexander’s very existense by defaming his character. There is not one minutia of evidence he did anything to invoke this despicable act of slaughter perpetrated by Jodi Arias.

Regarding the discussion on Matt Mcartney: there is definitely something up there and arias is anticipating it. In my humble opinion, she even made a little pre-emptive strike regarding that very thing during this past Thursday’s testimony in order to lay the ground work for yet another lie. The exchange is between Martinez and arias. Here is a brief overview of the dialogue regarding the alleged pedophelia and of her claimimg to have told Matt Mcartney:

    (paraphrasing)
JM. and who is this other person you told?
    JA. Matt Mcartney

    JM. Matt is your friend?
    JA. YES

JM. A person who will not betray you, correct?
    JA? My confidence, yes.

JM. In the 48 hours interview that is how you describe it as somebody who will not betray you, correct?
JA. Right, when i confide in him

JM. Yes or no? ( i think he says some other things here first before asking yes or no)
    JA. YES

JM. You also indicated in that interview that he was your ally
    JA. YES

JM. And this individual, Matt Mcartney is also someone who will lie for you, won’t he?
JA. No, he would never do that

Defense makes an objection, which is overruled

JM. Are you aware of the statements he made in january 2008, I mean january 2013 regarding that very fact, yes or no?
Defense objects and they approach the bench

JM. And Mr. Mcartney is this individual who is your ally though, right?
    JA. WAS

another defense objection which was sustained.

If you click on the youtube link below, the exchange regarding this topic begins at about 27:40. It is at the 31:00 minute mark where she makes the “WAS” statement regarding matt mcartney being an ally. I don’t remember her making that statement prior during these court proceedings. Does anyone else?

Arias called travis 10 times on June 3, he called her twice. None of the ten phone calls originating from Arias lasted more than 3 minutes. One of the two calls originating Travis cell lasted 15-18 minutes, as i recall. What was that about?

    A Texas Grandfather,

Thank you for sharing your observations on sociopaths. I think your observations are very good. Very astute. I can read definitions but they’re usually very textbook-like.

Over the years, the only description I’ve seen that hits on that type of personality is from “The Great Gatsby” when he’s describing the character Jordan Baker:

“She was incurably dishonest. She wasn’t able to endure being at a disadvantage…”

Jordan Baker was the character that cheated to win a golf tournament and didn’t think twice about it.

Anyway, I like your explanations in plain words instead of psychology textbook words. I enjoy your posts. Thanks.

Why is it that the former men in Arias’s life are afraid?!?

  29. krowdkat says:

Why didn’t Darryl want to admit that Jodi returned with the remote? Could it be that in retrospect he was buying stolen property? Accessory after the fact? Child custody issues with his ex? Hates being on the witness stand? Remember Kato K in the Ojay trial?

    Just sayin’!

  30. Joan says:

The evidence itself disproves self defense whether she was in a fog or not. Doesn’t it? 29 stab wounds in the back should say it all.

And somehow the pictures in his bed and recording the phone sex seem to be a part of it all. Part if premeditation. Why did she do all that within two or three weeks before the murder? She had a sick, horrible plan of what to do with those tapes and photos.

And the gun was stolen only a few days before she left! I hope Martinez tightens up the view of the timeline. Maybe he should make a chart and SHOW it.

  31. rmack says:

Blink, I know this is lengthy, I’ll understand if you don’t post ~ Thank you so much.

My speculation only…I believe that every bad thing she attributed to Travis, she actually did herself. She says that he slipped into her room, barely knowing her & performed oral sex. I believe it was her who did that. I believe she pursued him after that first encounter. When he told her that his Mormon faith forbid him from having sex, she told him there are other ways of having intercourse, specifically, anal sex. He said in one of the many phone conversations that she recorded that he was not really a “tossed salad” kind of guy. That’s a Chris Rock term for anal sex. I think she introduced it, pretended she loved it, seduced him into accepting it. She lied when she said that was his preference, it was her who kept offering it, pushing for it. She may have hated it, but she made him think she enjoyed it.

She probably alternated between acting light, no problem, just a little fun sex, and being angry and possessive. At times she lost control & flipped out. She says he slapped and kicked her, tried to choke her, but I think it was her who did those things to him. She said she woke up to find him having vaginal sex with her, I believe it was the other way around & he never wanted that to happen.

When he realized he couldn’t have a relationship with her, she kept on chasing him. Sneaking into his house, showing up where ever he was. She hacked his phone records, his bank accounts, myspace, facebook, anything she could to monitor his life. She slashed his tires, stole things from his house, left angry texts and messages.

He probably tried to end it numerous times, then she’d call & say she truly cared about him, that they’d always be friends, just wanted to stay in touch, and he would relent, and begin to respond to her messages. Then gradually she’d start warping the messages into sexual innuendo, phone sex, then start offering bj’s & “tossed salad”. Travis would get sucked back in all over again.

When he tried again to end it for good, telling her he was taking someone else to Cancun, she made the decision to kill him. She set up a date weekend with a guy in Utah. She packed the gun she stole from her grandfather, a large kitchen knife, rope, and a new camera. She borrowed 2 gas cans & purchased a third, filling them up on her way out of town. Then she drove from California to Arizona without stopping.

She showed up at his door and persuaded him to let her in, just for old times sake. She tells him she bought him a new camera for his vacation. She talks him into taking her picture. She poses for her shots, totally nude, showing him everything there is to show. She got out the knife and the rope and tried to talk him into letting her tie him to the bed, just for fun, but he would not do it. She hoped to take his picture while having sex just a moment before stabbing him. She tried to get him to have sex with her on top, but he flips her over & they have anal sex one last time. Immediately afterward, she picks up the camera and starts taking pictures of him naked on the bed. He’s uncomfortable & gets up to take a shower. She retrieves the knife and the camera and follows him into the bathroom. She places the knife just around the corner of the shower, out of sight, puts the camera strap around her neck, and starts taking pictures of him in the shower.

She flatters him, telling him he looks so good now that he’s lost weight. She tells him to open the door so she can get a better shot, then she tells him to kneel so she can shoot from above. Last, she tells him to close his eyes and he does, never knowing what she is planning. Maybe he suspects that she is going to get into the shower too. Instead, she lets go of the camera and picks up the knife with both hands, she turns and stabs him straight in the chest. He opens his eyes in horror and pain and tries to defend himself. She hacks away at his hands and head until he struggles to his feet and staggers to the sink, spraying blood everywhere. She then attacks his back with the knife and he falls, trying to escape down the hall. She follows, continuing her attack, screaming the line she has attributed to him, “f_____ kill you bitch”. There are several accidental pictures taken during the attack as the camera bangs against her body. As he collapses, she climbs on his back and cuts his throat ear to ear. He is helpless now, but she keeps it up, finally throwing down the knife and dragging him back down the hall to the bathroom, where she flips him over onto his back. He is already dead as she stands over him, gasping for breath, still raging. The screaming she says she heard, the insults, the profanity is all coming from her own mouth. Then she retrieves the gun from her bag, flips off the safety, chambers the bullet, takes careful aim and shoots him right between the eyes.

As the rage finally starts to dissipate, she looks around her and sees what a mess she has made. She removes the camera from her neck and begins making the hopeless effort to clean up. She drags him back into the shower, she takes a wet towel and tries to mop up the floor. When she realizes it is useless, she gets into the shower with Travis, washing herself until there is no trace of blood. She steps out, dries herself off and assesses her wounds, putting band-aids on the cuts. Her ring finger hurts and she will realize later that she has permanently damaged the ligament, resulting in a “trigger finger,” she will ultimately blame Travis for that also, saying he kicked her. She picks up the camera again and begins looking at the pictures, deleting those she does not want to be seen by anyone. It dawns on her that might not be good enough. She dresses, puts on make-up, and combs her hair. The she gathers up the camera, the bloody knife and towel, the gun, the rope, and her bag, she leaves the bedroom, locking the door behind her. She heads downstairs and puts the towel and the camera into the washing machine, she adds detergent & starts the cycle, thinking that all the pictures will certainly be destroyed. She puts the knife in the dishwasher and starts that too.

Then she drives to Utah and spends the night with the man she thinks will be her alibi.

  32. A Texas Grandfather says:

The driving distance from Monterey to Culver City (North LA) using the old 101 hwy is 320 miles. This highway has been partially upgraded to freeway quality. At 60 miles an hour average it would take five hours plus any stops for food or gas. It is about 60 miles farther if one drives East to get the I-5 to LA. This speed could be maintained only if the trip was made at night. Traffic is too heavy otherwise. In daylight you would probably need an additional two hours.

If continuing to Mesa from Culver City one would take hwy 60 to Beaumont where it intersects with I-10. Most of this is freeway and would pass through Riverside. The distance to the Arizona line is 225 miles and from that point to Mesa is 163 miles. The total distance from Culver City to Mesa is 388 miles or 6 hrs. at 65 mph.

If gas mileage was 25 mpg, then the gas required from Culver City to Mesa is about 16 gal. I would think that Jodi would buy gas at Indio or somewhere close to the Arizona line.

If Jodi drove from Mesa to Salt Lake City, the fastest way would be to take I-17 to Flagstaff and then Northwest on hwy 89 crossing into Utah at the North end of the Grand Canyon, actually Glen Canyon area. I-17 is mostly mountain driving and freeway speeds are 75 and 80 mph. The distance from Mesa to Flagstaff is 146 miles and another 138 miles to the Utah line.

North of Flagstaff hwy. 89 is traversing the West side of the Hopi Indian reservation in high desert terrain. There is plenty of space in this area to drive off the highway to dispose of something and no one would notice. Hwy 89 forks at Bitter Springs, Arizona and comes back together at Kanab, Utah. This route takes the East fork. The first likely place to get gas outside Arizona is Big Water, Utah.

All this to illustrate that Jodi would have been hard pressed to make the trip without 3 five gallon cans for gas and not have any purchases in Arizona.

I can’t figure how where Jodi got money to run around move here and there when most of us have had to cut back
    Even 4 years ago
Her employment records would be interesting But private I suppose
She couldn’t keep up her car payments to Travis but could run all over in a rented car
Some times I think she lived in fantasy most of the time with or without Travis

I see no reason for the Pedofile story It really doesn’t fit

Start watching at the 1:33:00 point. Darryl B’s hands are shown fidgeting while he is testifying about the remote that Arias returned.

He is a very nervous witness in my opinion.

Why is it that the former men in Arias’s life are afraid?!?
    _________

Could it be that dark stare she gives him occasionally while he’s testifying? He states Jodi never made it to his sister’s house to take photos of the new baby for the Blinkster who wondered about that.

She pumped gas in Pasadena late at night, so while she did make it to Pasadena, which was way out of the path of her ultimate destination of Arizona, she never went to his sisters house which was the reason she gave for going.

Why lie about the mortgage payment? He stated it was $1700 when it was really $2800.

He states Jodi told him she ran out of gas in the desert. Why would she tell him that?

His odd answers make it seem like he’s hiding something.

  35. jden says:

You will recall the testimony of Darryl Brewer, 52-year old ex-boyfriend of Arias. He stated that Arias changed dramatically when she hooked up with PPL, and got breast implants. The Judge ordered that only Brewer’s hands be shown during testimony. Brewer confirmed twice to Martinez that Arias called him two times and then on June 3rd she borrowed two gas cans for a trip TO ARIZONA. He testified that she never returned the gas cans. This goes to pre-meditation and disputes Arias’ contention that she did not decide to go to AZ until Travis called her while she was en route to Utah.
Maybe the prison notes were meant for Brewer? I’d say all those exes better watch their backs. Need confirmation that the Bobby Juarez that was killed is not one and the same, Arias’ ex.

Brewer can be seen here in a few photos, one of which is somewhat alarming.

Hey pale rider interesting site, I agree when the pic is shown like that it does show anger and fear.

Here are my thoughts FWTW on the last pic of Travis:

I think she had the gun on him- and I think she was taunting him
in the video of Travis’ near death experience he says he looked to the woman who was crying and tried to get her to “hear” him with nothing more than the look on his face, in his eyes-

    he says:
“so I’m like this woman is going to get me killed and Im looking at her with all the despair I can muster up in my retinas…”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt_hf3_o1wQ

I think Jodi Arias was either making him show her all the despair he could muster up taunting him over his near death experience or poor Travis actually flashed back to this experience, his previous encounter with a person holding a gun on him.

    AJMO

    – another thought I had to underscore Jodi taunting him IRT his earlier traumatic life experiences came from reading his blog post about the book he was writing

“Raising You”- remember this is the post that Jodi was so mad about that she wrote him that many page letter calling off their friendship because he did not thank her for her help in editing but thanked Karen for her help…

I think this was the beginning of the buildup to murder for Arias- and I think she was cruel beyond measure both in the attack the gun the 27 stabs, the slashing of his throat- but also in making him relive past terrors-

Here is the snippet I am referring to:
    snipped “Raising You”

“I didn’t mind going with out a bath that much really. I was a boy like most and didn’t have a problem being dirty. But I was scared of bathing because if I once got the bathroom floor wet and my mother accused of me of urinating on the floor and threw me half way through a wall.”

There may have been another reason that water was thrown all around and why that cup was in the shower why she conveniently had so many socks to wear and why the mat was moved away from the shower

I think she tormented him in more ways than we can imagine.

    AJMO
    peace

  38. Mom3.0 says:

adding this thought about Travis life experiences -

I dont think Travis Alexander would ever step out of a shower and not put on his bath robe immediately- I dont think he would have stepped away from that bath mat, until his feet were dried- he had a fear of getting the floor wet-

so again Jodi Arias’ claim that he became so enraged when she dropped his camera, he bolted from the shower- dripping wet -to stand over her after body slamming her… then chased after her dripping wet and naked down that long hall way… it does not ring true not for someone who survived such a traumatic event as a young boy with his abusive mother which impacted him in adulthood to such a degree that he disliked baths/getting the floor wet

    AJMO

  39. Twitch says:

    @rmack

Just a couple of things about your theory:

The camera belonged to Travis. He purchased for the Cancun trip and his roommate actually suggested which camera to purchase.

The strap for the camera was found unopened/unused with the camera bag, so in order for Jodi to have put around her neck, she would have had to use a different strap and there wasn’t one attached to the camera in the washing machine.

Travis was shot above his right eyebrow in a downward trajectory causing the projectile to lodge in his left cheek. He was not shot between the eyes.

thanks for posting that piece of testimony! I think her story changed to WAS an ally during the intro of the coded magazine message, prior to that I don’t recall her saying WAS.

IMO this Matt character has some kind of knowledge that Jodi DID NOT WANT him to share with anyone…..EVER!

It should certainly be interesting to see what happens on Wed-Thur this week!!

Why is it that the former men in Arias’s life are afraid?!?

    Hey KrowdKat-

I think he is nervous because he wants to be as helpful to JA as possible he is quite evasive-

    Watch that vid at 1: 34:00 until 1:35: 52

Notice when he is asked if she called him to borrow GC he answers in a whisper, as if it it pains him to voice his affirmation to the question “yes” and he goes on to answer “yes” again in a whisper- to whether or not JA made multiple attempts to call and get the G/C

    he denies her being testy..

–He knows the significance of the G/c and he knows that a sporadic occasional “friend ” calling to borrow 2 gas cans is significant.

Again I say how is the idea of JA borrowing these cans to save money feasible? frugal? wise?
Its not -she would have added MORE time MORE money MORE gas in returning these G/cans

She then went and bought 1 more can- why? unless she Knew she was going to need even more extra gas to get her to her planned out destinations

    Which destinations?

THRU Arizona to Travis home- then to THAT desert the ONLY desert she was worried about– the desert she told DB she was going to “get Lost” in –the desert she feared getting stranded in with No water and No gas- THE DUMP SPOT
Good thing she had water and gas when she arrived thru her fog to THAT desert that dumpspot.

DB goes on to deny JA got testy with him .. he goes on to not quite remember about the remote ( remote for what? )

if she borrowed the Gas cans, then why not simply wait to return the remote WITH the cans why go back a mere 4 hrs later?

Good question KK,was the remote to the dvd was it the type that NEEDED a remote inorder to work? and was it trade for the cans? never ” borrowing” the cans – but instead trading them for the dvd player/remote?IDK

I feel sorry for him and his child I do
I understand He is trying to save her life
    he loved/loves her-
heck he demoted himself to be with her- and all he got for it is dumped and a trip to the witness stand. I guess he should consider himself lucky

one thing that did make me angry is his half azzed (pun intended) remembrance of anal sex- who cant remember when they engaged in anal sex if it was less than 3 times? “once maybe twice” this coming from the man who can remember other occasions of sex?

  44. Slowroller says:

“I would think that Jodi would buy gas at Indio or somewhere close to the Arizona line.”-ATG

I know the route from 215-210-10 into Ehrenberg, AZ all too well. It is 95 miles from Indio to Blythe, CA. And there is absolutely NO GAS in between. Blythe is on the west side of the CO River across from Ehrenberg on the east. Blythe is a small to mid-sized town/city of about 40-70K if IIRC(obviously gas here), and Ehrenberg is essentially a huge Flyin’ J truck stop(and here) on the south side of 10, with a bar or two on the north side of HWY 10 and an Indian reservation along the river more to the north.

And regarding no DLS time in AZ, that is correct. Interesting sidenote: AZ stops selling booze at 1 am, CA at 2 am. So we would close down a bar in Ehrenberg, then drive back across the border where it would be midnight in Blythe, and still have 2 hours to drink!?! Oh to be young and dumb…!

Yeah I was going to clarify this as well…how can I make this as painless as possible…it is anal sex, of the oral variety…how is that??

  46. A Texas Grandfather says:

    Slowroller

I have driven that route too. My wife had family in several areas of La.

Forty years ago, one better plan gas refills carefully or you would be on the side of the road out of gas far from a fuel source. I have also driven the roads through the Hopi reservation.

In 1975 we made a trip to the Grand Canyon and continued on Arizona 160 to visit the 4 corners monument. We had planned to refuel at Tesgi. We arrived there at noontime. We found the whole town empty. There was a gas station, but no one home. Fortunately our vehicle had two 22 gallon fuel tanks and we could continue on to Mexican Water to a trading post. The most interesting thing at Mexican Water was the clothing the women were wearing. They wore styles of the 1890′s. Mexican Water is on the Navajo reservation.

We should all remember the story the the ex boyfriend of the C-word told about how she completely changed her behavior after they broke up. Jodi apparently did this several times after leaving home. I would say that DB is lucky that Jodi had not reached the violent stage regarding him.

  47. Mom3.0 says:

Remember Martinez questioning Arias on the 3 gas cans in SLC? remember her answer or non-answer

turning toward the jury to say pointedly:

“I don’t recall where the city limits end and begin but to answer your gas can question I went to Mesa with TWO gas cans.” turning toward the jury to say this pointedly

First thought is shes “hyperliteral” so perhaps she can lie because As Joan said it was a kerosene container, not gasoline-

Next is she trying to say that she “borrowed” an additional can from Travis?

How can a dead man lend anything? Seems Martinez can say she stole the gas can if this was where she was going with her non answer

    AJMO

  48. Myers says:

    Good one mom3.0 at 7:45

That is actually what she is gonna say that she borrowed one from travis while she packed her car. She has had a good bit of time to come up with something.. One thing that I find possibly hurts this case is that she has time between to think about what she will say on that stand, to bad their days are not longer and not so far in between. Then she won’t be asked about getting the gas can while in the fog

  49. A Texas Grandfather says:

One can certainly put gasoline in an empty container that formerly held kerosene. However, kerosene is not sold at a normal gas station and would be found in 1 gal. cans at some convenience stores near a recreation area or a sporting goods store.

The old Coleman camp stoves used kerosene and some of those are still in use. They even made one that had a single burner that was small and light for hikers.

This leaves the need of another five gallons of gasoline to clear the state of Arizona without buying gas. That is if she took the route North rather than retracing her route on I-10 back to California and then North and East through Nevada on I-15 to Salt Lake City.
