Kyron Horman Missing: New Years Eve Settlement Ends Horman Marriage

Portland, OR- In a surprise court hearing,  Judge Henry Kantor signed off on the agreement between Kaine Horman and Terri Moulton Horman to end their marriage this afternoon.

Details of the agreement have not been released publicly, but according to KGW,  a financial settlement to include child support and a lump payment to Terri Horman has been reached.

In what can only be described as a bitter family court feud-  the divorce matter was last in court on December 16th to decide if the Horman landscaper,  Rodolfo Sanchez Estrada -who alleges Terri Horman tried to hire him to murder Kaine Horman at a lunch meeting – would testify.

Judge Kantor has not yet filed an order from that hearing but Attorneys for Terri Horman were granted a continuance from the pending temporary custody motion scheduled for December 19th and 20th.

There is a Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island . I researched this a long time ago and I think the people who owned the Pumpkin Patch farm on Sauvie also owned the house DAD rented. I believe that Kaine said that his family went to the Roloff farm in Hillsboro not the Pumpkin patch on Sauvie island.

For some reason I was thinking they had been to both. Idk why. And I didn’ t know those people owned the Pumpkin Patch on SI. Creepy. I still wonder from time to time about DAD.

I started the Roloff farms conversation simply because Matt Roloff, said that Kyron disappeared “really, really close” to their farm. The farm is some 5 miles away from Skyline Elementary, I was puzzled by that comment and I recalled LE searching near their farm, I was simply wondering why. IOW, was he told by LE or KH that Kyron or the infamous white truck had been potentially spotted near there?

Not implying that they had anything to do with Kyron’s disappearance at all. Then I remembered this, see my previous post:

    http://www.katu.com/news/local/99801789.html

According to sources, two detectives and a canine search dog scoured the property of DeDe Spicher’s aunt along Northwest Bishop Road in Helvetia within the last two weeks.

    *************

Not sure, but I think that area is near the Roloff Farm, is it? I think they were searching up there because of LE’s needing a DS connection.

The pictures on TMH’s FB in October 2009 show them TMH & all three kids at the Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patch. Doesn’t mean they didn’t go to Roloff’s as well, but just checking the FB photos shows only the SI Pumpkin Patch. The newspaper article below says “late last year”, which makes me wonder, do they do anything at Christmas time at the Farm? Maybe the article is just incorrect, because I also thought they went to Disneyworld in 2008, not 2009?

I was thinking I had seen a picture of Kyron @Roloff’s with Kaine, but I must have been thinking of Kaine only at one of his Kyron fundraisers they held there.

They play board games, go bowling with friends and take trips. In 2009, they visited Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Late last year they went to the Roloff Farm in Helvetia where the reality TV show “Little People, Big World” is filmed. And recently, they peered at the animals at the Oregon Zoo.

I can confirm this much right now- the only member of the family to attend the Roloff farm was Kaine. who brought along one male friend in the Summer of 2008. Kyron was never there so I have no idea where the comments “one of Kyron’s favorite places ” came from unless it was in reference to watching the tv show?

After 32 years, guilty verdict returned in murder of teen found dead in ditch

A Washington County jury found a St. Helens man guilty Thursday of a 32-year-old murder that had stymied police until modern DNA testing linked the defendant to the killing.

After deliberating more than five hours, the jury convicted Kenneth Lee Hicks of aggravated felony murder in the 1982 rape and murder of 17-year-old Lori Gale Billingsley.

Hicks, 52, faces a sentence of 20 years in prison, with the possibility of parole after 15 years – Oregon law on Oct.10, 1982, when Billingsley’s body was found along Southwest Miller Hill Road in Aloha. Circuit Judge Thomas W. Kohl set sentencing for July 13.

The 11-day trial was unusual because Billingsley’s death remained a so-called “cold case” for many years after detectives initially were unable to develop a solid case. Authorities identified Hicks as a potential suspect soon afterward, but didn’t have enough evidence to arrest or charge him.

But a retired Washington County sheriff’s detective with more than 20 years of experience as an investigator returned in December 2010 to work part time on unsolved cases. The detective then sent evidence stored since the killing to a laboratory for testing.

“If they broke into your Google account, they’ll get a copy of every email you get in Gmail, along with other notifications. For other accounts, they can get notifications, or just use the second email address to log in whenever they want.

Security researchers are saying the hackers currently running the scam are more about stealing information than money or credit card numbers. In fact, given the nature of the scam, the attacks have to be highly targeted; there’s no way to automate this. Oh and you can bet Kaine has asked her the same thing. Why was my daughter somewhere else that day when normally she goes with you up to the school even when you are filming Kyron in some kind of production? Really all you did that day was take Kyron up there, his project was already there, that much has been established that they were supposed to be there the day before, you took one picture then left. Why couldn’t you take our child with you that day? I think this is one of the most telling things in the whole scenario.

I would like to make this suggestion to Skyline Elementary school and all Portland schools for that matter.
When you are going to have an event where you are going to have all sorts of people milling about, you need to plan in advance crowd control.
When we have an event during the school day like this, there are tables set up right outside the office.
Everybody must come through the front door. Several employees are there, all visitors must sign in and give the name of the child they are with as many times last names are not the same. Nobody should get down that hall without doing this. Never ever leave side or back doors open under any circumstances, science fair projects or not. As a teacher we are many times having to haul stuff from the parking lot to our classroom. We just get a rolling cart or something or get some assistance to help carry things. Nothing should be done for the convenience of the parents, it should be done for the protection of the children. And get a security camera for the front door and keep it locked during the school day after all the kids are there. What a tragic lesson is having to be learned here

^^^^^^Is this person just conicidentally randomly commenting here, or did this person, at this time KNOW that Kyron was asked to help someone who was a parent, or believed to be a parent?

    Good find erose.

  36. T. Ruth says:

erose, I read that as someone else’s daughter too, but I think that the person posting was pretending to be Kaine having an imaginary conversation, “our” daughter being Kaine & Terri’s.

  37. T. Ruth says:

I read more comments of the LSTEX poster, it seems he/she is just referring to Terri’s filming of Kyron’s performances AT the school, when the baby was there too:

This is to address tammyjean’s statement about why wasn’t her daughter there with her at school that day. Why was she with a babysitter. Good question! There have been several films made of Kyron’s school activities and in several of the you can clearly see the daughter toddler running around the room. You see it in Kyron’s project that he read on bridges, you can see her again when he is singing with the choir of kids. So—–why not that day?? Interesting indeed!
    http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/06/kyron_hormans_parents_reveal_n.html

and yes, she’s talking about the baby not being with her that day, which Kaine has now says she was. So end of that story.

It seems to me, as well, that we’ve covered the Roloff Farm but I just had to add a comment about the reporting, and the feuding pumpkin patches requiring MCSO overtime.

    From my notes:
From Lynne Terry, June 19, 2010, Oregonian, after her interview with “friends and family” – it’s not clear who told her this:
“According to friends and family, the Hormans are a tight-knit, loving family that enjoys doing things together.
“They play board games, go bowling with friends and take trips. In 2009, they visited Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Late last year [2009] they went to the Roloff Farm in Helvetia where the reality TV show “Little People, Big World” is filmed. And recently, they peered at the animals at the Oregon Zoo.”
    ———————————

Since Kyron never went to the Roloff Farm, I wonder why that came up in the list of what the family does together. I doubt Lynne Terry went around checking pumpkin patches to see if they had gone to one. I wouldn’t have been surprised if Kyron had visited more than one pumpkin patch any year since it’s not unusual for kids to go with family, school classroom, Scouts, church group, daycare, the family of a friend, etc., or be attracted by some special event, for example. But I understand from Blink now, that only Kaine went to Roloff’s. Interesting to note that Matt Roloff had an early career in the software industry, and still is a consultant for a software company – I believe that was in one of Rose’s links.

Facebook post below said they had gone to several pumpkin patches over the years.

On Fox TV, the man interviewed was not the victim but appeared to be related to the owners of the Bella Organic Farms and Pumpkin Patch. He told the reporter that the family had some suspicions about who was responsible and that they believed some people wanted to see them shut down and it had to be one of their competitors on Sauvie Island. The reporter did not ask more or it was edited out – it was not a live interview when I saw it.

So I googled and found this from the October 26, 2011, Willamette Week:
    http://wweek.com/portland/article-18135-smashing_pumpkins.html
    selected sentences:
“For decades, cars filled with parents and children in search of Halloween pumpkins have streamed out U.S. 30 to Sauvie Island. And one island farm has dominated the business: the Pumpkin Patch, run by the Egger family since 1971.”

“The feud involves the county sheriff, reports of theft and vandalism, obscenities shouted from cars, and one of the new business’s managers admitting he tore down signs to the Eggers’ patch.”

“The Eggers, who are still doing big business this year, say they were once close to Hashem—even going on a family vacation together—and are surprised by the way he’s competing with them.”

“We’re patrolling regularly to keep the peace,” says Capt. Jason Gates of the sheriff’s office, which is paying deputies overtime to deal with the situation. “They need to work it out.”

[I noted that it appears MCSO is still using a lot of overtime.]

I watched the ID program Weathering the Storm this morning. 7:30
Amy Anderson’s story Even thro I keep this channel on a lot of the time I am not sure how much is fact and how much is entertainment
I noticed this program was labeled education
What I wonder is when you send your story to them are you paid and get to appear on the show both
If I believe Amy A I would say he could be a suspect still. In the Kyron case But
Something seemed off about her story also
Thank you to TNG And Our Amy’s sister for helping me see the program
