Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes
I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010. Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past, I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another. This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases. I am proud of that. I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.
Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom, Terri Horman. Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey. Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child. There are dozens of sources, collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.
Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did. I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping. Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode. When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her, I most certainly respected that. I still do.
While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure, I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth. There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions. Not what I signed on for. A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience. He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.
I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil. I appreciate your patience and your understanding. Feel free to discuss the show below.

I find it odd that while Desiree is convinced Kyron is deceased Kaine still believes Kyron may be alive.
The facebook group and Desiree (that believes Kyron is no longer with us), swears they are looking for him and post daily facebook comments of encouragement to Kyron.
Meanwhile Kaine and the MCSO do actually believe Kyron is alive and continue to search for him.

As for investigators, Kaine said they’ve never stopped searching and he’s grateful for that.
“I don’t know what else you could ask for, short of bringing him home,” he said. “They’re doing everything that they can.”

I haven’t rewatched the whole thing, but in this FOX Portland interview with Kaine
he says he believes Kyron is alive, he needs just that kne tip, & he is grateful for searches.
I find what he avers not credible.
Well, I don’t know what to say that Kaine does not realize Kyron is 17 currently, and not 18 until September, except to say I do not believe whatsoever he thinks Kyron is alive. Does the person who published that picture indicate or link the origin and date/time stamp? Obvs I am Leary about random FB posters posting edited images without sourcing. I’m pretty sure that is Kyron and that pic was taken in Summer 2009.

You would think just one Portland journalist, if there are any out there since WW terminated James Pitkin into a more lucrative career, would get a sitdown interview in the Office of Sheriff Reese, accompanied by his Chief of Detectives & assigned Kyron detective. Reese would be motivated to score good fawning LE coverage to offset the bad & to introduce new investigators to the public to motivate “just that one tip.” If I were Reese, I’d invite in my favorite favorable reporter for an update.

“Little Boy Lost: An ID Mystery,” aired on the Investigation Discovery channel, telling the story of Kyron and the investigation that followed his disappearance.
Did any of you watch this ^^^? Was there anything new at all?
I wish that LE would release some more information. Anything, such as why were they searching Sauvie Island? If they don’t release more information I don’t think this case will EVER be solved.

cd2′s summation of the book sounds like what I expected it to be. Same o’ same o’. The only thing new I caught was that it said Terri had an injury on her shin, which she said was injured at the gym by dropping a weight on it.
How does one drop a weight on one’s own shin? Any idea of what exercise or equipment would be involved in that?
Am I understanding ya’ll correctly that Kaine is divorcing again?

Sorry, his current marriage (at this writing pending dissolution) his spouse and he actually tattooed their wedding ring fingers. I find it difficult to watch Kaine speak on Kyron at all. The last time he spoke to “Kyron” directly to the camera my heart sank.
I listened to an interview with her on a podcast the other day re the book. The host was not familiar enough with Kyron’s case to form any meaningful questions and as a result did not realize Morris recounts touted as facts differed from her book on occasion and in some instances, are patently false.
Like, Wholesale false, and easily verifiable as such if she so much as checked a court docket and/or file. For example, she states Desiree fought “for years” to regain custody of Kyron after her months in CA. This absolutely never happened. The publicly accessible court files available online for her convenience? Never referenced in either of her custody dockets for Quinn or Kyron. DY is on record in previously televised interviews admitting this did not occur. The absence of verification of DY’s version of events is staggering on its own, but when coupled with a unilateral void of attempt to corroborate or refute Declarative statements similarly, by ANY of the parties mentioned (btw- who thinks in 2020 you can use a fake name in an obvious attempt to avoid litigation and thinks they are covered??) it was obvious to me why this previously touted “NY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR” had to self publish.
I really don’t think it would be in Reese or MCSO best interests to answer a question truthfully about Kyron’s case. Besides, as DY is finally on the record she believes unequivocally Kyron is dead and Kaine has recently stated he’s happy with the work MCSO has done (I’m quite sure he and I would apply that statement differently) AS in, they have not located his son in 10 years or made a single advancement in the case in just as long, but he did manage to wrangle out of jail time, property settlement, alimony and secured primary physical custody of Kiara With their help and participation. Why would MCSO (at Reese’s behest) open themselves up to that Public scrutiny?

I recently heard an interview with Morris where she completely misstated the timeline, and in this podcast she flatly accused Terri of lying about “how long she was at the gym”. Complete fabrication on Morris’s part. There are multiple cameras inside the gym, in some areas (childcare) motion sensitive, and multi-angled live feed/monitored are also positioned in reception which one must check-in before entering past the vestibule/foyer. There is also a badge/key code system which tracks ingress and egress of members individually. MCSO has had a copy of all footage containing Terri Horman on it since June 6th, 2010.
There is no question whatsoever as to the dates and times Terri visited “her” gym the week of June 4, specifically, nor is there any question as to her activities within. (With the exception of the locker room) would also add that the tights Terri was wearing on June 4 covered her shins.
Unfortunately working with heavy weights of any kind (and in my case medium heavy lol) and especially plate changing produces minor bumps and bruises pretty frequently. Blink Jr. lacerated his hand two years in a row in football pre season weight room training. I have received deep bone bruises on my shins and calves from my bike pedal before- It’s not necessarily more problematic with a specific rep or machine I am aware of.

In this era of “reform” calls of LE agencies, Reese would be wise to out the dirty linen of this case, which is a benign policing example, & set it on a new course to demonstrate his Reform efforts. Why now? The progressive Dem wingif Brown likely has his back but absolutely has Schmidt’s—nothing like her wing installing “progressive” Schmidt with his almost nonexistant prosecution experience. (Her promotion of Schmidt Reminds me of Clayton trumping Berman) Changeover in DA Office to an Outsider & self-proclaimed reformer. Most of mcso personnel involved in the case are retired or old & should be. This case could be Reese’s PR golden goose.

Morris has created a new crime genre “Not so true Crime” based on glorified gossip and innuendo manipulated by the author to give the appearance of some sort of journalistic accomplishment.
I will endeavor to avoid any books that include Morris as an author.
Perhaps somewhat idealistically, I finished the book thinking- at no time did any party to it think that mess was going to help locate this child. My second thought was Morris (at least) is going to get sued. Failure to corroborate information and in some cases omitting opposing facts all together makes it obvious Morris acted like DY’s Print megaphone.
I will say (not in any sort of “BUT- the FBI disagrees with everything in here” sort of way, that Morris admits the FBI DOES NOT agree with MCSO version of de facto suspect. They do not. Seems like a missed opportunity then to request they take over the case.

Reminder to other readers: Logan Storm (legal alias) was a “neighbor”, educator at a different school but was present at a charity event and showed up in a Pic behind a booth Kyron was “fishing” at Skyline iirc Christmas 2009. He was convicted in State court for possession, jumped bail, extradited via INTERPOL and at his retrial MCDA dismissed charges and he was arrested and convicted in Fed Court. Two years later he was acquitted in State court for some sort of alleged sexual act 7 years earlier at a pool.
Would be very interested in knowing if he was one of those grand jury “double dips” at one point.

Very oddly my Repub Gov is a hero. Our very impacted Cty has gone from double digit incrs nightly to less than 1% nitely for last week. (I have to drive thru the hellholes of NC, SC, GA, FL to Miami Dade 8/14 & am planning to die & be buried with gloves & mask. In the meantime, progressive Kate is as capable of governing as DeSantis.
