BRITTANEE MARIE DREXEL: TEEN MISSING FROM SPRING BREAK S.C.
Myrtle Beach, SC– Brittanee Marie Drexel, 17, has been missing since the evening of April 25th.
Police have named Peter Broswick, the person last seen with Brittanee, a person of interest in her disappearance. Dawn Drexel, Brittanee’s Mother did not grant her permission for the Spring Break trip, but she had maintained regular contact with the sparkling blue-eyed beauty.
Broswick has retained a local attorney and attempts to reach him for a statement have not been returned to blinkoncrime.com.
Mrs. Drexel became worried when she was unable to reach her daughter Sunday after she told her she would be returning that evening.
“Then I called John Grieco back, Brittanee’s boyfriend. He proceeded to tell me, nobody’s gone looking for her. Of the friends she was down at Myrtle Beach with, nobody had gone looking for her. I don’t know what kind of friends those are, but that’s not right,” Hahn said.
Hahn went on to say Brittanee’s boyfriend, John Grieco, first informed him of Brittanee’s disappearance in the early hours of Sunday morning through a text message from Rochester. Hahn says Brittanee was staying in a room at the Bar Harbor hotel with three friends – two females and a male.
According to Hahn, Broswick left S.C for Rochester, his hometown, when he learned Police wanted to speak to him and Hahn was on his way to speak with detectives.
When Hahn arrived in Myrtle Beach, he was immediately concerned.
Hahn found all of Brittanee’s belongings still inside her hotel room, he also found Drexel’s clothes and liquor inside Broswick’s hotel room.
Broswick and friends also left behind a $100 deposit at the front desk
The assault on the web community commences, note who gives an obvious Broswick supporter a voice:
Broswick, the 20-year-old who is reportedly the last one to see Brittanee, has hired defense attorney John Parrinello.
Parrinello says his client is fully cooperating with investigators and hopes the young lady is okay.
Apparently his well wishes do not include mentioning “the young lady”, Brittanee Marie Drexel, by name.
In an interview with WHAM, Brittanee’s Mom, Dawn Drexel said:
..” Peter, we need to know what’s going on. “Brittanee is very special to us. We need to know what is going on. We need to know why the authorities weren’t called. We need answers and we’re not getting them,”

Authorities Seek Ties Between Missing Women Cases

SC Authorities Seek Ties Between Missing Women Cases
Police in Charleston, South Carolina say they are looking into possible connection between the disappearance of Chili teenager Brittanee Drexel and another case.
Charlston County Sheriff Al Cannon says detectives are comparing the 1998 killing of Shannon McConaughey to the disappearance of Drexel as
well as a recent attempted abduction in Myrtle Beach. Cannon tells YNN Rochester they are assisting Myrtle Beach and Horry County agencies in those two cases as well.
Drexel was last seen leaving a Myrtle Beach hotel.
McConaughey’s body was found near the last location of Drexel’s cell phone signal.
Blink,
Are you working on an update here, or is it too soon to tell?
Too soon. Do we know this guys occupation?
B
Hello , found this update at sun news .com , it does not give his occupation. I will keep looking .
Timothy Shaun Taylor, 37, of McClellanville turned himself in to Myrtle Beach police Wednesday to face charges of attempted kidnapping and first-degree assault and battery, Capt. David Knipes said. Taylor is being held at the Myrtle Beach Police Department Jail pending a bond hearing.
Timothy Shaun Taylor of McClellanville could spend up to 40 years in prison, Long said, if he is convicted of attempted kidnapping and first degree assault and battery.
Taylor’s arrest gave some hope that it would also lead to arrests in the disappearance last year of Drexel, a New York teenager last seen outside a hotel while she was vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Police Capt. David Knipes said no connections have been found between the two cases. But the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, which has assisted Myrtle Beach and Georgetown County investigators in the Drexel case, is looking for links in the cases.
Taylor is the brother of a McClellanville man who had been charged with the 1998 abduction and murder of 19-year-old Shannon McConaughey, authorities said. McConaughey’s body was found in northern Charleston County, the same general area where Drexel’s cell phone signal was last pinpointed.
In the recent kidnapping attempt, police said three men in a light blue van pulled alongside a woman as she was walking to a hotel on Ocean Boulevard at about 4:30 p.m. on July 21, according to police reports. She fought off attempts to force her into the van, and they fled.
Taylor didn’t formally enter a plea in the bond hearing Wednesday, but he said he repeatedly tried to contact Myrtle Beach police when he heard they wanted him in connection with the incident. In the end, he said he drove to the police station to surrender himself.
“I didn’t try to hide anything because I know it wasn’t me,” he said at the hearing.
A formal plea will be entered when Taylor goes to court in Conway on Sept. 3. Until then, he is under a $70,000 bond.
Taylor, 37, told Long that he is a father who has been married for 19 years. He said he probably made a mistake when he didn’t take a Breathalyzer test in a previous case in which he was charged with driving under the influence. Other past charges of first degree burglary and grand larceny were not prosecuted.
Long said he was concerned in setting bail by Taylor’s past record, but added that it was a good sign that he turned himself in to authorities. Myrtle Beach police Detective Lester Cook asked Long to set a high bail because police believe Taylor could be a danger to the community if he is freed.
On Tuesday, Charleston County deputies served a search warrant at Taylor’s home and recovered a pickup truck that had been reported stolen from Horry County, according to Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon. Cannon would not say if any other evidence was found.

My nine year old daughter brought something strange to my attention about this case….I have contacted the officer working on the case, as well as a very reliable website, with no phone calls returned. Could someone please e-mail me and I will give you the information that I have? I believe that this is worth looking into. Thank you.
New evidence in this case:

blink,
i am courious to if the police checked with the guess staying at the hotel on her floor that night she went missing is it possible she got locked out of her room or couldn’t get in and had help. Maybe someone at the hotel asked her to go do something after seeing her locked out and helping her. Couldn’t they check and see you left in the morning or checked out real early
An update on Brittanee’s case. An apartment search of, you guessed it, a registered sex offender.

Finally some more news on Brittanee’s cold case. I do hope this new info brings her home.

This man is extremely dangerous and it is beyond me how he served 1/2 his time as a violent sexual offender.

Blink why are such persons running the streets? Why? This kind of persons have to be kept in jail and the state
have to throw the keys away…
Wonder what happened with Raymond Moody with regards to Brittanee Drexel… I’ve googled it to see if there’s been an update, but nothing. I like to check in on some of these cold cases once in a while, hoping to find answers.. can’t imagine the pain a parent lives with by not knowing..
This from WMBF News April 26th. This child needs to be found. I can’t imagine the anguish a parent goes through not knowing where their son/daughter is.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) On the three year anniversary of New York teen Brittanee Drexel’s disappearance, her father said some authorities are not doing enough to find his daughter.
“I’m a father with a missing child,” Drexel said. “And I’m not getting any help.”
During a phone interview with WMBF News Wednesday, Chad Drexel said he believes political or jurisdictional issues could be preventing the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office from doing more to find the missing teen.
“I’m very concerned with how [the sheriff's office] is approaching [this case], and I haven’t received one bit of communication,” Drexel said. “Georgetown [Sheriff's Office] wants to stay out of it for some reason; I’m done with all that.”
Drexel said he believes there are areas and evidence the sheriff’s office has not explored, and in the coming months he plans to work with a private group, Merrill’s Investigations, to help find his daughter.
Merrill’s Investigations volunteered their time and resources to the Brittanee Drexel investigation for months in 2010, until several of the investigations lead supervisors were taken off the case, according to a 2011 WMBF News report.
Drexel said he plans to remain active in his search for his daughter Brittanee, and believes Merrill’s could play a key part in bringing closure for his family.
The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said they are not aware of any jurisdictional or political issues involved in the Brittanee Drexel disappearance case, and said they continue to do everything in their power to find the missing teen.
Brittanee Drexel was last seen in the Grand Strand on April 25, 2009.

I feel for Chad Drexel. I hope Merrill’s Investigations finds some answers to help move the case forward.
Still praying for Brittanee . Missing but not forgotten <3
Hi – found this website and I have a few questions maybe someone here can answer. I know that the girls that Brittanee stayed with, Jen and Alana, changed hotels on either Saturday, April 25th or Sunday, April 26th in 2009. They went from the Bar Harbor to the Boardwalk Hotel I believe. I am not finding a hotel in Myrtle Beach that matches that name exactly. Does anyone know the exact name and/or location of the hotel to which the friends moved? Also, I know that Ugar Ozturk, Jen Oberer’s boyfriend at the time, was arrested Saturday, April 25, 2009 in Myrtle Beach. I found a website that actually had the ticket posted, but it was very hard to read. Does anyone have the specifics of that ticket? Time/Date/Place of Arrest?
Remains found 25 miles from where Ms Drexel went missing…

Liam- thanks for posting. I am so very hopeful there is progress in these cases.
I am on the record that I have a serious concern that at least Britt’s case is the work of a serial offender.

God bless this child.

Blink – are you following or do you have any thoughts on the Heather Elvis disappearance?
Yes, I think LE is looking at the person she was last in contact with at 3:41AM
B
Hi Blink – do you know what kind of evidence LE has to prove that Brittanee was alive for several days and that she was murdered?
Not specifically but in terms of protocol my assumption is they have DNA evidence consistent with a deceased individual, but I also believe they have a witness.
B
Looks like the worst case scenario for this poor girl.
Just sickening!

It was obvious to me they had multiple informants. May this sweet child of God be with him and in his care. What a bunch of sick, evil freaks. The FBI has its work cut out for them in her case, apparently.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones- this knowledge is unbearable to them.

At least this is something.
No offense intended but what attorney allows his client to strike that deal in the first place? Of course he was going to fail it and I am not even sure that a DA can offer outside of sentencing guidelines predicated on a different case and not consult victims- I have a feeling that article, considering polygraphs are not admissible in court (criminal) is lacking in the fact check or context area. That said, I have no doubt that the FBI has the right sick freaks.
I agree it is “something”- this is going to be an incredibly difficult case to prosecute.
