Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Caylees Autopsy Revelations Part I
Orlando, FL– Under heavy objection last Friday afternoon, Judge Stan Strickland denied the motion on behalf of George and Cindy Anthony to seal Caylee Marie Anthonys autopsy until their daughter Caseys capital murder trial in their granddaughters death. Late Friday afternoon, the Findings of Dr. Jan Garavaglia, Chief Medical Examiner of Orange County were released. In Part I, we explore a few of the notable findings, In Development for Part II, Blinkoncrime will be is creating an interactive 3D Model, incorporating the evidence recovery field, bone disbursement pattern, and anatomical example of the duct tape placement.
The
Although the report contains a significant amount of anthropologic and forensic data, it does not contain photos or X-Rays, pursuant to the Earnhardt exclusion under Florida Law. Blinkoncrime.com will attempt to offer some observations and in some cases, correct some erroneous information that is being reported in the msm. For starters, the laundry bag picture being circulated, it is incorrect, the image to the left is the correct bag, note the dimensions are exact. The top of this bag does not cinch.
The Duct Tape
I have seen rampant speculation on the duct tape beginning around 15 minutes following the release of the report. There are many who believe that Casey Anthony killed her child by wrapping her nose and mouth with duct tape. Allow me to point out the report actually reflects the antithesis of this theory. First, there IS NO TAPE ON THE POSTERIOR of her skull. The only posterior placement of the tape mentioned is still located on the mandible, or face. The tape, which was actually small strips of grey cloth-based, delaminating tape is applied on top of itself, not really feasible with a live toddler. Given the findings that Caylee’s mandible stayed in almost true anatomical position, although slightly posterior and that the hair that was attached to the tape extended from the back of her head and over her head and face, it is likely Caylee was laying on her back when the tape was applied.  Henkel makes 2 kinds of duct tape, one is more Industrial grade of adhesive “hot set” over cloth designed for waterproof and outdoor projects. It has not yet been disclosed which formulation was used.
The OÂ Sign
A contributing poster at blinkoncrime gave me something to think about that had not occurred to me. I am on record stating I do believe that Casey Anthony murdered her daughter, and that she will end up pointing the finger at one or both of her parents as a defense strategy.
However, the duct tape never really fit for me. I have always believed it to be a post mortem tactic to stage a kidnapping. I do believe I may have been wrong. Very well known to medical and critical care professionals, there is something called an O effect; occurring at very near death, or shortly following death and before rigormortis sets in.
Some medical people refer to it when the person is very near death or has just died–the jaw drops open. Nothing left to hold the mandible shut. In morgue kits there is a strap that is applied around the jaw to gently close it before rigor sets in. This “O” sign can be very pronounced and unsettling to see first hand. Casey probably wasn’t aware of this and was really spooked by this silent scream and used the duct tape then put a heart sticker on it as a ________
This makes sense to me. The tape is applied in small strips across the nose and mouth areas, catching her hair in the face over the Coronal plane region. One interpretation that may be drawn is that Caylee was lying on her back, upon seeing what Casey had done to her child as evidenced by the relaxed mandible; she attempted to “fix her”. As if covering up the evidence of death on her baby would change things, complete with a heart sticker. No sooner did I arrive at this conclusion on Saturday, did I see Dr.Michael Baden appear on Geraldo Live on Sunday evening bringing up the mortuary kit issue. I am not saying this idea originated here, not that it would be the first time, but it at least tells me there is corroboration within the forensic Medical community as to the premise. The FBI report on the duct tape has not been released. One thing is certain, what I have been stating all along about Casey’s prints being on the duct tape seems foreboding. With multiple strips of tape, chances are there are several. The defense has had this report for months, is this why Casey Anthony retained Todd Macaluso?
Swim Diaper?
There are several remnants recovered that are described as a diaper or pull ip item. However, there are a few that appear to be strictly synthetic. When I read the report, my immediate reaction based on some of the coloring was that it was a “swimmie”, or disposable swim diaper. After mapping out the dimensions and a closer look, I believe it is actually referring to remnants of both a pull up, a reusable swim diaper, or swim floation/assistance device or both, as pictured here:
Paper Towels
Simply stated there is decomposition fluid on paper towels in the plastic garbage bag found in her trunk that came from Tony Lazzarros apartment.
In my opinion, Casey ripped the bag Caylees remains were in when she moved her body into or out of the trunk to her final resting place in the woods off Suburban. The stain in the trunk, emitting the ungodly stench, was the target of the paper towels after Casey returned to TonE’s apartment. She brought the paper towels and garbage bag out with her in an attempt to clean it up and realized almost immediately it was an excerise in futility. Immediately following are her comments to Amy about George Anthony borrowing her car, and the infamous squirrel stowaway story.
Her Clothes
In contrast to only a stitching remnant with a manufactures tag left of her shirt, Caylees shorts were found nearly 2 ft ft away from the laundry bag, in relatively good condition. Based on the reports findings of trunk and femural animal activity and the corresponding recovery area, I am of the opinion that it is not possible that Caylee was wearing those shorts when she was dumped in the woods. Frankly, given the fact that the actual color stripe pattern was discernable versus the condition of the other items, I am suspect Casey was in those woods more than once. How do you get only the collar of a shirt remaining and her shorts completely intact with no noted damage? Lastly, Caylees shoes if she were wearing any, were not recovered.

Do you think this was actually a drowning. If so, accidental or not?
Personally, I think it is a possibility, but makes no difference to me if accidental to me or not, she is responsible. But because she never called 911, and the tape, I think unlikely it is an accident.
B
I hope for Justice for Caylee.
You write great articles Blink, very in depth.
Some great observations, Blink. So Casey visited the wooded area where she left Caylee more than once? That doesn’t surprise me, really.
I believe Caylee was killed on June 15th, just because Casey was so insistent that she hadn’t seen her daughter in 31 – THIRTY ONE – days. Why that number of days? It’s almost as if she had been counting each day since Caylee was gone. Something pathological about that.
Blink, if that pull up diaper was actually a swim diaper, then chances are Caylee probably died in the pool. Casey more than likely drowned her in that pool. Would there be detectable pool chemicals on that diaper? Was that material sent to the FBI for analysis?
Yes it was sent, and I would not expect much in that result. If she died in the pool with any appreciable amount of time it is more likely that would be found in the pool filter, dont know.
B
Wow Blink this is great. So you are saying that casey was going in and out of those woods maybe putting stuff there? or removing stuff?
I think someone was desperate to say that those remains were put there at a time long after they were, so who knows, Im just positive she was not wearing those shorts when she was put there. Only half of her pelvis was recovered, keep in mind.
B
Hi Blink,
Forgive me if i dont understand, but does that mean that the animals that were eating at her body (disgusting)would have torn apart the shorts too? so thats how you are sure that she didnt have those shorts on at the time of being dropped there? Is it possible that she just threw those shorts in the bags with her because maybe she already had those shorts set out for caylee to wear but never got them on her? Or you really think that she was crazy enough taking such a big risk of getting caught revisting the dump site.
It is possible she threw the shorts in yes, I agree, however, it would not explain their condition vs. the shirt, if they were in the same bag per se.
I am saying that based on the bone disbursement pattern, and the quantified animal activity she was NOT wearing those shorts. Anything more specific your going to have to read the findings, I cannot bring myself to type it out. Sorry.
B
It makes sense that Casey probably frequently returned to her home
after George and Cindy went to work. She had to go somewhere as she didnt work and her house would be the most comfortable place. Also whatever did occur that caused Caylees death, if at their home, the
items found at the remains site would have been handy for Casey to take immediately, the blanket, laundry bag, duct tape, and trash bags
all would have been right there for her to take with her. The problem then to me is what many have described as the “rage factor”. If Casey dressed Caylee and they took off to “work” as George stated, she must have been in a somewhat calm state by then. How is it that she was able to go back home, and then calmly drown Caylee? Because I absolutely cannot believe in an accident as Casey with the self-preservation instincts of a sociopath would have played the distraught mother to a tee and reported it. There is no way she would have gone through all the machinations that she did if this were an accident. She came up with the baby-sitter story, if Caylee had a real accident even from Caseys momentary lapse of leaving her in the pool alone she would have lied about the circumstances and still reported it. That leaves to me, if Caylee drowned, that Casey drowned her, and in a manner that was cold and dispassionate, and that is what confounds me every time.
Jesse Grund opined that IF an accident happened, Casey would “freak” and possibly do something irrational. The O theory would still make sense if it were accidental…so this could still explain the duct tape. Mind you, I am not in any way trying to minimize culpability for this woman. In my mind, the child abuse, neglect and cover-up are plenty reason to put her away for good. For Casey, an accidental death may seem less attractive than any other method. Admitting to her mother any neglect which could lead to death would be unlikely, knowing the dynamic of their relationship it would be held over her head forever. A kidnapping makes Casey a victim, too. My theory, for what it’s worth, is that she had been plotting for some time and was seeking a method to dispose of Caylee. The kidnapping was always the planned cover-up. I think the Xanax was soley intended to subdue her when needed and had been utilized long before she plotted her death. I believe she purposely left the ladder up and turned her back. She knew the reprecussions and did it anyway.
The post mortem stage was quite ugly, hence the use of tape, stickers and the laundry bag over the trash bags. Getting rid of the shirt and stripped shorts was a necessity as this was the last outfit her parents saw Caylee wearing. (It’s plausible that she inadvertenly retained the shorts in her car and upon reflection, she disposed of them in the vicinty of the original dump site.)
Dear B…does anyone remember the computerized action re-enactment of
the OJ murders? Know if this kind of thing can be done for this case?
I truly believe that Casey did drown Caylee in the pool. All one has to do is look at the last jailhouse tape of casey and her parents when her mother mentions that the latest story is that she (Casey drowned the baby in the pool. Casey’s eyes bug out of her head for a split second then she recovers and says something like “Well, there you go…” And also what do u know re media cover-ups? 1) In DEC
reporter on NG mentioned that a bathing suit was found with the remains and NG is incredulous …”What? a bathingsuit?” Never mentioned again as far as I know on any show.
Also there appeared a crime scene photo amongst dibris in woods prominently displayed was the big yellow picure book Caylee was reading on the video in the nursing home on the last day of her life.
Never seen that one again nor have I ever read more about that. I agree with you that Casey was back n forth between home and woods discarding items she may have thought would incriminate her somehow.
Im not sure it was her at all. Remember Cindy Anthny “Ive had people walk those woods..”
B
B – you are wrong about the shorts AND it was no accident!
I just love it when someone jumps on here, misinformed, and armed with an opinion they do not back up. If you are to be taken seriously here, respect the intelligence of the readers here and myself and educate me and them as to how your opinion is correct, or worthy of consideration please.
B
So kc fingerprints will be the states ace in the hole awesome. I have really been struggling with what is the greater horror in this case the fact that caylee is dead or the way she was disposed of afterword.I am now leaning toward the latter. This childs remains should seal kc fate imo
Thanks so much Blink for all this information. This site is one of the best sources around! Your work is so well thought out and detailed. I believe they took the swim diapers and pullups from the house during a warrant. They should be able to match it up to determine whether it was a pull up or swim diaper.
If it were an accident, even if Casey stayed ‘mum’, the defense and Cindy could have gone that route instead of the ‘pizza explains it’, ‘someone Casey calls the ‘nanny’ who loves Caylee like Jesse’ did it, or Jesse and Amy and Ricardo were the ‘nanny’ and they did it. And set up scenarios to manipulate the direction of the investigation away from accident, away from the evidence of even their own observations about the car decomp.
If it was an accident, then no harm in clearing off the case for Mr. M’s client and if it was an accident, clear the economic charges, and keep the DP off the table– an accident makes Casey ‘innocent’ of the death, maybe not innocent of the actions after the ‘accident’.
But then Baez has the opportunity to become a world famous lawyer and that won’t happen if they tell the truth about the accident– if there was one. It has to go as far as it can go and then they need to pile it even higher.
It’s all about Casey being the center of attention and control– as she stays quiet, she is in control of her parents and everyone else who is affected. And she gains notariety. Once she speaks, it’s over. If she’s asked about Caylee– she’s simply not interested. It MUST all be about her, and that’s the only way to get her to talk, when it’s about her.
Why do family members have a need for answers, for truth of what happened to a loved one, a need to bring a body home, a need for these levels of ‘closure’, a need to seek justice on behalf of a loved one. Look at the lengths the Goldman’s went to seek justice for their son in the face of a ‘not guilty’ verdict in criminal court. They have an innate need.
But what about families who lose a loved one at the hands of another family member and when the victim can not be in any way blamed for their own demise, as with an innocent child? And further, going beyond the natural instincts to support the accused family member, but far beyond this to manipulating public opinion and jury pool influence, to actually taking physical actions that make investigators jobs that much harder, or even cleansing evidence on behalf of the family member.
This is a strange situation for a family to go this far against ‘justice’ and dignity for the lost child.
Hey Blink, three things. One, do you think a member of the A family or someone in their employ that was wondering around out there could have placed the shorts there many months later, given the relative good shape the shorts were in? Keep in mind also that G & C were under constant scrutiny. Lee was only watched at court, jail, Hopespring etc.
Two, Do you think she was smart enough to have concocted the squirrel story with George using the car that far in advance for a reason? Could she have been planning that far in advance to throw George under the bus?
Three, Do you find it ironoc that the two promoters from the “Casey is innocent” media tour are going to be the ones thrown under the bus? Or could that have been the plan all along and they just went along with it to try and establish reasonable doubt for their darling little demon?
The “O” effect is a bit disconcerting and I hope it is the cause for her nightmares of late.
what material difference between the shorts and the shirt? The shirt label was mentioned, think ‘cotton’, will have to check. And the shorts? Shorts are a more robust material than a shirt often, and maybe they were a polyester which will not degrade at the same rate as a natural fibre. But it might still not explain everything. The shorts could have been packed in the napsack, or packed in the bag with the napsack. If the shorts were added later, why not add shoes later too?
Im talking about the overall condition of the two items. The shirt was a collar, only the hemmed collar survived and all else almost completely degraded and the letters were buried in muck. Shorts had Identifiable pattern at the scene. Remember that warrant was served on 12/19, after the served the other 12/11-12/12. I am of the opinion forensics made the same conclusion.
B
Love your theories on this. What do you think about the gatorade bottle that was supposedly found with the liquid and the syringe?? Could been used to inject something into caylee and killed her???
unrelated, imo
B
Looking forward to part 2 if there is one!!!
Hey, Kleat, et al. I don’t really think Casey would even acknowledge an accidental drowning to her attorney. Do you? It’s the “self preservation”, “I’m a victim too” that leaves me convinced of that. I’m almost starting to think that they will take their “some other dude” defense to the ends of the earth. Even to pointing the finger at the Anthony’s. Not giving the A’s immunity gives the prosecution a bargaining chip here, well, I hope it will. An accidental death could be the last ditch defense when all other options are off the table. Anyway, I see this defense train heading to hell and back before it’s all over. Hope I’m incorrect.
Maybe when the body was placed there she had on the pull up and no pants??
Great article, bringing the pieces of the autopsy together. On the shorts: what were they made of? Acrylic would hold up far better but the dyes would fade. Were the shorts under something else or under leaf piles? If she were in swim diapers, the short could easily have been separate but dumped at the same time. With the number of Anthony supporters haunting those woods, any one could have dumped the shorts later to add to the idea that some unknown Nanny dumped Caylee while Casey was in jail. Prior to Aug 18 bailout, I mean. On the paper towels: were they tested for DNA? I saw no report one way or the other. I do note the cannibinoids found on the towels along with the decomp. Sounds like Casey again. Interesting that the towels came from TonyLs.
George and Cindy and Casey are all playing this the same way. When a little more evidence comes out, they change their stories to include whatever cannot be ignored. The parents are floundering around, looking like fools, but Casey and Baez are stone cold. I would like to know who in the Anthony family is going to jump under that bus when the time comes. Before this is all over, Casey is going to demand another blood sacrifice.
red, you hit on what i ve just been thinking her setting george up (lots of things could be explained).
unless george was involved(i still havent let go of that)but the shorts ,first are they indeed the shorts from poppa video? i mentioned a long time ago ,cindy slipped and realized she slipped in the 911 call when they ask her to describe what CASEY is wearing and cindy describes what she last saw caylee wearing, cindy pauses catches her mistake and realizes its too late and continues, cuz she realizes they are not supposed to know what caylee is wearing, george overcorrects by knowing exactly what caylee is wearing down to an abnormal t <when ,not sure how it fits in the puzz but it is a piece.
Thanks Blink for explaining some of the autopsy in regards to the duct tape. I read it and thought that it was wrapped around her head. The O theory is very interesting. I used to work in a nursing home and when people passed away you could not get their mouths to close. It was greatly disturbing and the mortuary would tell us not to worry, they had something that would help.
I really struggled and Klaasend and I worked on some 3D skull images so y’all could see it exactly. It shook me to see it in that format, so I am glad my 30,000 foot view did the job. I believe that is exactly what happend. Remember also this is a tiny child, it is not the same as attempting to close the mandible of an adult.
B
My point with this is that if I was to tape up someone who’s mouth fell open i would use tape running from under the chin up towards the cheeks. However, that doesn’t mean that’s how Casey would do it. I still wonder the purpose of the duct tape is all. We will probably never know.
And their it all is blink, why were you not a cop? I think I understand or at least kinda understand so far.I do hope when all is said and done you are given some credit for all your work, the O effect answers the duct tape ? for me,Thank-you for all the work you done on all the cases, mainstream media seems to rip you off alot, BLESSINGS R.L.
Ty friend.

After re reading the article–yes it was well worth rereading–I have a horrible thought about the duct tape over the mouth. Something I have been thinking all along is that Caylee was beginning to speak and tell George and Cindy more than Casey might want them to know about her life style and lack of job. After the long day with Cindy, who knows what Caylee might have said? The evidence seems to me to show a premeditated murder. Might not the duct tape have been a message to George and Cindy, and the heart sticker a little added signature? If Caylee were found, then the duct tape makes it look like an abduction but the heart sticker tells those who understand the message exactly what happened and why.
Blink … I read the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children did a study on mothers who murder their children and statistically, the vast majority of those who have, do it via drowning or suffocation with plastic bags ‘sub-conscientiously’ to resemble womb-like surroundings.
http://www.slate.com/id/2063086/ under THE MURDERS section of the article (below).
“The Murders
Perhaps more revealing than the differences in why they kill their offspring are the differences between how fathers and mothers do so. For one thing, parental murderers tend to be highly physical. According to a 1988 survey done by the U.S. Justice Department, while 61 percent of all murder defendants used a gun in 1988, only 20 percent of the parents who killed their children used one. Children were drowned and shaken, beaten, poisoned, stabbed, and suffocated. These methods betray a certain “craziness” in both genders—they betray an intense passion and a lack of planning. But a study by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children shows that fathers are far more violent. And mothers frequently dispose of the corpses in what researchers call a “womblike” fashion. Bodies are swaddled, submerged in water, or wrapped in plastic. Moreover, the NCMEC study showed that while the victims of maternal killings are almost always found either in or close to the home, fathers will, on average, dispose of the bodies hundreds of miles away. All these behaviors suggest that women associate these murders with themselves, their homes, and their bodies.”
In thinking about it, it sounds right? Susan Smith – drowning, Andrea Yates, drowning then swaddled. Now maybe I’m way out in left field here but I don’t think so. I’ve tried searching the internet for the actual study to no avail.
Whoopsie … I forgot to finish my question.
Wasn’t Caylee found in/with plastic bags? A Whinnie the Pooh blanket?
Thanks, Blink!
Blink , always enjoy your articles. I did want to point out that I believe what we all thought was Caylee’s “storybook” pictured at the dumpsite, turned out to be a yellow realtors sign.keep up the good work.
Yes, thank you for posting that, I remember.
B
Blink, your movie list for the Anthony saga have included Troy, the Brad Pitt in Toga scene, more recently the whole Kill Bill movie, and now, how about adding the classic, ‘Twelve Angry Men’ for Scott’s # 10 post– fits almost all of the characters at the beginning of the film, but to a T for the hold out til the end, juror.
Thanks, Dee, I never knew that
Blink, wasn’t there a shoe or shoes in the Father’s Day balloon that Kevin found in the area and took to the Anthony’s to see if Cindy could identify any of the things there as belonging to Caylee?
Blink does the prosecution need to provide a possible motive or offer a theory as to why caylee was killed? Will a jury need that info to decide a verdict in this case?
I understand from reading the report and what blink has outlined that Caylee’s remains and other items were not completely contained within the bags and were scattered over an area. Therefore would it be possible to tell whether the person who returned to discard the shorts would have thrown them in roughly the same spot or whether they were actually deposited in the bags which contained Caylees remains?
I know this is not nice to imagine but I was intrigued as to what Blink meant by not being able to bring herself to type it.
Is it possible the shorts were what Cindy found or am I way off on that? Go easy though I’m still a novice.
As for shoes if they were never with her immediately prior to or during her murder they would never really be in the equation, so I guess that would fit with the pool theory.
I think Caylee died either as a result of drug poinsoning in the form of tranquilizers (the Zanny the Nanny stuff), died in car after an all night bender by Casey (possibly combined with drug poisoning), or was drowned or suffocated in some combination of frustration, desire to hurt Cindy, and callousness and self-regard by Casey. I do think it was either purposeful or extreme negligence and not a mere accident, which I think Casey would have reported.
What do you make of the “Big Trouble Comes Small” lettering? It’s under-explained in the autopsy report. It suggests to me some post-mortem ritual by Casey, likely a narcissistic and self-pitying one based on the words used. This is consistent with either (i) accidental death and freaking out or (ii) purposeful killing and regret. The latter is quite common incidentally in homicides by parents, where bodies of children are often arranged to be “comfortable” when buried, for example. (John Douglas discusses this in his profiling book “Mind Hunter.”)
I think the tape could have been used to suffocate Caylee in her sleep. It also could have been used to prevent the leakage of fluid post-mortem which would have been very disturbing to Casey. Perhaps Caylee vomited due to drugs and was still expelling items post-portem. It’s hard to say. Its presence is not very consistent with a normal, accidental death though.
My theory on the dump site is that Casey originally planned to take her farther, perhaps to the woods near OIA or East towards Christmas, but the smell was overpowering after caylee was left in car overnight or even for a few hours, and she immediately decided to leave her in woods nearby her home. The rains, floods, fencing, and snakes in the area after August combined to make the body unfound until a great deal of evidence was lost.
I remember cindys comment that she had people walking in those woods is that why they had lunch at the ritz?
blink great job i didnt realize that (what seem to be)swimmies and/or flotation device were there too , no shoes cuz she was swimming, the person just didnt qrab em,with the other stuff, are you going to show the 3d imagery? im still rereading your article.
In regards to the “O sign”, I have seen it in real life (when my mom passed away) and it is the one most disturbing thing that I took away from my mom’s passing and it still disturbs me even 10 years later. I did not know that this happens before I saw it and I believe it happens because when death occurs, muscle control is lost and there is nothing to hold the jaw closed. Not to be too graphic in my description, but I believe it’s an unsettling thing to see for most people because it’s not just that one’s jaw drops straight down, it drops at an unnatural angle, an angle to the side, that it would never be at during life. I am not sure why the duct tape was placed in the way that it was placed, but it would make sense to me that Casey would put several layers of duct tape on to put the jaw back into proper alignment and keep the mouth closed.
I have worked in the death industry (funeral home) and I have never seen anything resembling the strap you speak of for the O-theory. I have no idea why this would be used, since the funeral director is responsible for the cosmetics of a deceased not the hospital or the ME. I have seen many deceased persons brought in from the ME’s office, hospital, or their home and none of them have had the strap that you speak of. Such an apparatus may have been used over 50 years ago but certainly is not used today.
Regarding the “swimmie” or the swim diaper. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t Cindy say that after she and Caylee returned home on June 15th from visiting Cindy’s father and mother in Mt. Dora that she took Caylee swimming in the pool. Casey came home while they were in the pool and was going to come into the pool with them, but Cindy said that it was getting cool and she and Caylee got out of the pool. And according to Cindy, that was why Casey did not get into the pool with them.
I think this is when Cindy started arguing with Casey about the stolen money. Casey then took clothes for Caylee and left the house, with the child in the “swimmie.” After Casey killed Caylee, she disposed of the clothing she had taken with her. I beleive also that Casey made a remark as to “them not even finding Caylee’s clothing yet.” Anyone else remember this?
Regarding the shorts, I do agree that she wasn’t probably wearing any at the time of her death. I have a son who is almost the exact same age now as Caylee was when she was murdered and he frequently will go just in a shirt and a diaper, especially in the summer. I live in CA so it is a similar climate to Florida (minus the humidity)and I could totally see her being in just a pullup and a shirt. I agree that the shorts were probably put there way after and for 31 days no one knew that Caylee was even missing so Casey could have and probably did go back to where she dumped her. I have seen in many articles that murderers will revisit the scene numerous times, as if to relive the crime or to try to cover things up.
BTW, I read this site very often and I just wanted to say TY Blink for the tireless hours you spend investigating and putting everything together for us
I’m sorry, but are you forgetting motive? The Anthony’s loved that child, Casey didn’t…case closed, imo.
DeeinFL, yes I do remember Casey saying that “they didn’t even find her clothes yet”, thinking at the time how bizzare that was, almost indicating the clothes were in a separate place from the baby. Didn’t you find that really odd?
Glad to read Blink’s observations on the duct tape. The “O” explanation sounds rational.
When duct tape was first reported I thought perhaps Caylee had died in the truck with the ‘babysitter’ being Chloroform. Then the duct tape was used to stop any stomach contents/early decomposition detritus from further contaminating the car trunk.
Didn’t one of Casey’s girlfriends report finding a duct tape roll in Casey’s purse?
There has been so much information and discovery released in this case that I have been unable to read it all. Therefore, I’m not really capable of making a solid judgment about the details of this crime. However, it seems like most people have made up there minds as to Casey’s guilt and even determined (in their spare time) that this was premeditated and methodical in nature. I fully agree that she is a despicable human being, a bad mother, and a criminal, but I’m not at all certain that she purposefully killed her child. In fact, I am leaning toward the opposite. This does not excuse her behavior leading up to and after whatever occurred, but it does remove the possibility of the death penalty and the severity of both the crime and the ultimate punishment. She is a liar and her reaction was to lie her way out of something tragic. Of course, this was one instance where her lies couldn’t “help” her. She found herself in a hole and she kept digging. She’s so deep now, she’ll never get out. Still, this is a far cry from her murdering her child. Just my opinion.
Didn’t one of Casey’s friends say that he saw her “jogging” in that area, and he called or texted her and asked her if she had been out jogging on that road, and she said “no”. But, he swore it was her? I remember reading that and thinking she went down to check on the body. But, I’m not sure who it was that said it.
One thing that bugs me a little about the “intentional drowning in the pool theory” is I notice that the A’s live in a housing tract where houses are situated pretty close together. We live in a similar neighborhood and I know that at any given point there are at least two or three neighbors that can look out their windows and see into my yard. IMO I don’t think Casey would have intentionally drowned her in the backyard pool because the risk of being seen would have been too great. I do believe Casey did murder Caylee intentionally and that it was not an accident but maybe it was done in the bathtub and not the pool. Blink – do you know if any of the A’s surrounding neighbors have a field of vision into their yard?
Well, they atleast CLAIM to love her. I have felt like from the beginning that the 911 call sounded rehearsed. Spindy sounded like she was reading a script to me. She, IMO, did not sound like a panic stricken grandma! I think the coverup begin when Spindy drove Crazy around trying to have her arrested for more petty crimes. If she could have gotten Crazy to the police station and filed charges against her then Crazy would have been in jail and THEREFORE, it would have had to been someone else that had done something to/with Caylee………JMO
One of the 911 calls Cindy states that the last time she saw Caylee was “The seventh of June”…….perhaps a mix up….but the mix up keeps going around in my head
Hey Blink,
People who but cheap tools tend to buy cheap tools for everything. I don’t know if you remember it or not but the A’s own a hammer. It is one of the dollar store variety, or from the cheap bin at a hardware store. Duct tape is, in my mind, in the tool category. Their duct tape would also be the cheap kind. The bad news from this is that in the outdoors, especially with changing conditions, this tape deteriorates. The thin plastic grey part comes off the top, then it all just kind of breaks down until it is powder, or goo, depending on conditions. I am hoping that the plastic bags protected it from the elements well enough to retrieve abundant fingerprints from the person responsible for taping Caylee.
The good nes is if there were multiple layers then the top layers protected the bottom, somewhat. If she put three or four pieces it would have been way better for preserving the evidence.
Red, normally your 100% correct so it gives me great pleasure to tell you the tape is actually stamped with the *200* on it, thus my theory.
Till we meet Aggggaaaaiiinnn Grasshopper.

Blink, you are so amazing and very humble. Just couldn’t jump on board with you about the “accident” possiblity. I have 2 questions and one observation FWIW:
1) The Christoper Stutz Depo… In it, he states they dated for a few months a year before Caylee went missing; he goes off to college then comes home for summer break towards the end of April 2008. These are some of the things he says in his depo:
a. He sees Casey the day before Mothers Day — thinks it was Cinco De Mayo (but I think that is really May 5). “She came over”. Apparently he was out with friends and she spend a couple hrs. talking with Chris’ parents. He comes home; they go out.
b. May 11/Mothers Day — spends the day at his parents house with Chris and Caylee is with her.
c. May 17 — Chris’ parents aren’t home and Casey and Caylee spend the night there. Says about her car “Like May 17 she tried to start it and it wouldn’t turn over”.
d. Close to June 17 (he’s unsure of date) Chris sees Casey at Scoops and talked for about 5 minutes. A few days later she drops by to say “hey”.
June 16, 17, or 18 — he’s unsure of exact date. Chris says ” I had saw her I think it was the night before I saw her just randomly and so she decided to stop by the next day. We didn’t really hang out or anything like that”. He says she stops by Chris’ house around “5-ish” and stayed for an hour to 2 hours “just sitting on the couch just watching TV and talking”. Casey talked about her and Caylee moving to a different house.
e. July 7 – He sees Casey at Buffalo Wild Wings
f. July 13, 14 – a few texts from Casey to Chris
g. July 15 – Chris believes he sees Casey running/jogging (?) on Chicasaw around 9:30 a.m. and texts Casey to ask if that was her he saw. She says “no” and that was that.
Here is what I don’t understand….he visits Cindy later in July with a group of friends to talk about Caylee and what they know. That same day/time period, he “Met with George and Cindy Anthony at their house sometime around July 19 to 26, along with more of Casey’s friends, giving her parents any information they could about Caylee. Said he brought a bag with Caylee’s “scuba-style” swim suit, which has a life-vest sewn into it, as well as inflatable swimming armbands, hair accessories and other items.” (This quote found in an Orlando Sentinel article).
Chris never mentions in his depo. that he, Casey, Caylee ever went swimming together. How the heck did Chris end up with Caylee’s swimming gear/suit???? Did Casey say “hey Chris, here hold onto these things for awile while I go to jail”? This has never made sense to me, unless Chris gave a second deposition to law enforcement that I am unaware of. No wonder Chris’ parents told him not to answer the phone when Casey called him from jail. Is Chris afraid Casey will point the finger at him also…hmmmmm
2. The “O” effect never happened with either my mother or father upon their passing. I spent about 2 hours with each of them upon their last breath. Definitely didn’t happen with my parents (God rest their soul)….IMO this could be argued. Just saying…
3. Does it matter how the trash bags were tied? Either by a right-handed or left-handed person. Would create a different knot if, in fact, she were ever to point the finger at Cindy.
My dear Pam, I hope you realize I dont believe it was an accident. I believe she murdered her regardless, but I do believe the O theory 100%. I have seen it personally, and frankly I am a little taken aback I had not thought of it, I think it is a Mom/Child thing. There is very little I ever thought about in regards to the death of a baby before this case.
Your thoughts on Chris Stutz ARE OUTSTANDING. I was saving that!! Bad Girl! Teasing, I alluded to it the other day when I mentioned about Casey cruising in Tony’s Jeep to Chris’s. I 1000% believe his statements are redacted. She called him from prison for a reason people!!
Lastly, I do think it matters about the bag, but only if there was some oddity about the way they were tied that is direct to Casey.
