Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Caylees Autopsy Revelations Part I

Orlando, FL– Under heavy objection last Friday afternoon, Judge Stan Strickland denied the motion on behalf of George and Cindy Anthony to seal Caylee Marie Anthonys autopsy until their daughter Caseys capital murder trial in their granddaughters death. Late Friday afternoon, the Findings of Dr. Jan Garavaglia, Chief Medical Examiner of Orange County were released. In Part I, we explore a few of the notable findings, In Development for Part II, Blinkoncrime will be is creating an interactive 3D Model, incorporating the evidence recovery field, bone disbursement pattern, and anatomical example of the duct tape placement.

The Laundry Bag

WhitneyLaundryBagAlthough the report contains a significant amount of anthropologic and forensic data, it does not contain photos or X-Rays, pursuant to the Earnhardt exclusion under Florida Law. Blinkoncrime.com will attempt to offer some observations and in some cases, correct some erroneous information that is being reported in the msm. For starters, the laundry bag picture being circulated, it is incorrect, the image to the left is the correct bag, note the dimensions are exact. The top of this bag does not cinch.

The Duct Tape

I have seen rampant speculation on the duct tape beginning around 15 minutes following the release of the report.  DuctThere are many who believe that Casey Anthony killed her child by wrapping her nose and mouth with duct tape. Allow me to point out the report actually reflects the antithesis of this theory. First, there IS NO TAPE ON THE POSTERIOR of her skull. The only posterior placement of the tape mentioned is still located on the mandible, or face. The tape, which was actually small strips of grey cloth-based, delaminating tape is applied on top of itself, not really feasible with a live toddler. Given the findings that Caylee’s mandible stayed in almost true anatomical position, although slightly posterior and that the hair that was attached to the tape extended from the back of her head and over her head and face, it is likely Caylee was laying on her back when the tape was applied.  Henkel makes 2 kinds of duct tape, one is more Industrial grade of adhesive “hot set” over cloth designed for waterproof and outdoor projects. It has not yet been disclosed which formulation was used.

The O Sign

A contributing poster at blinkoncrime gave me something to think about that had not occurred to me. I am on record stating I do believe that Casey Anthony murdered her daughter, and that she will end up pointing the finger at one or both of her parents as a defense strategy.

However, the duct tape never really fit for me. I have always believed it to be a post mortem tactic to stage a kidnapping. I do believe I may have been wrong. Very well known to medical and critical care professionals, there is something called an O effect; occurring at very near death, or shortly following death and before rigormortis sets in.

Some medical people refer to it when the person is very near death or has just died–the jaw drops open. Nothing left to hold the mandible shut. In morgue kits there is a strap that is applied around the jaw to gently close it before rigor sets in. This “O” sign can be very pronounced and unsettling to see first hand. Casey probably wasn’t aware of this and was really spooked by this silent scream and used the duct tape then put a heart sticker on it as a ________

This makes sense to me. The tape is applied in small strips across the nose and mouth areas, catching her hair in the face over the Coronal plane region. One interpretation that may be drawn is that Caylee was lying on her back, upon seeing what Casey had done to her child as evidenced by the relaxed mandible; she attempted to “fix her”. As if covering up the evidence of death on her baby would change things, complete with a heart sticker. No sooner did I arrive at this conclusion on Saturday, did I see Dr.Michael Baden appear on Geraldo Live on Sunday evening bringing up the mortuary kit issue. I am not saying this idea originated here, not that it would be the first time, but it at least tells me there is corroboration within the forensic Medical community as to the premise. The FBI report on the duct tape has not been released. One thing is certain, what I have been stating all along about Casey’s prints being on the duct tape seems foreboding. With multiple strips of tape, chances are there are several. The defense has had this report for months, is this why Casey Anthony retained Todd Macaluso?

Swim Diaper?

There are several remnants recovered that are described as a diaper or pull ip item. However, there are a few that appear to be strictly synthetic. When I read the report, my immediate reaction based on some of the coloring was that it was a “swimmie”, or disposable swim diaper. After mapping out the dimensions and a closer look, I believe it is actually referring to remnants of both a pull up, a reusable swim diaper, or swim floation/assistance device or both, as pictured here:

CayleeSwim2 CayleeSwim-1 SwimDiaper-2

Paper Towels

Simply stated there is decomposition fluid on paper towels in the plastic garbage bag found in her trunk that came from Tony Lazzarros apartment.

In my opinion, Casey ripped the bag Caylees remains were in when she moved her body into or out of the trunk to her final resting place in the woods off Suburban. The stain in the trunk, emitting the ungodly stench, was the target of the paper towels after Casey returned to TonE’s apartment. She brought the paper towels and garbage bag out with her in an attempt to clean it up and realized almost immediately it was an excerise in futility. Immediately following are her comments to Amy about George Anthony borrowing her car, and the infamous squirrel stowaway story.

Her Clothes

In contrast to only a stitching remnant with a manufactures tag left of her shirt, Caylees shorts were found nearly 2 ft ft away from the laundry bag, in relatively good condition. Based on the reports findings of trunk and femural animal activity and the corresponding recovery area, I am of the opinion that it is not possible that Caylee was wearing those shorts when she was dumped in the woods. Frankly, given the fact that the actual color stripe pattern was discernable versus the condition of the other items, I am suspect Casey was in those woods more than once. How do you get only the collar of a shirt remaining and her shorts completely intact with no noted damage? Lastly, Caylees shoes if she were wearing any, were not recovered.

Oh…there is so much to find on this Frank Mckeever! Including him being a MAJOR scam artist (check/credit card fraud, computer sales, possible theft??), dealing in cars, on-line gambling problems and he had contact with Casey in July 08′ as far as i can see ao far. Much more to research but have not figured out what is fact yet and am not exactly sure how he fits into this whole tragedy (if he does at all, may just be another shady person in “Casey world”). Not thinking he has anything to do with Caylee (yet) but too many things are coming up to ignore. Hope i am not wasting time on this loser….lol

  5. Kleat says:

wow… people have said in the past that this guy or that guy looks just like Caylee, I’ve never see it but then maybe haven’t seen the photos they are looking at.

But anyone see things in these photos that look familiar? Maybe imagination here, but wow… even in ‘aged makup’… remarkable….

    Blink,
TY and see what you mean p288, but this is where the ‘dream team’ really scares me. “and the recovery concludes that an accident is impossible.” How well are the..D.T. (I bit my tongue on more creative acronyms)… going to be able to punch holes in that? as an impossibility? …and is there ANY way they can cast doubt w/o putting her on the stand? Thinking out loud…..

The only comfort I can find is that they’d nearly HAVE to put her on the stand if they claim accident. I and I don’t see that happening. Zero credibility since way before Caylee went missing. Not only that she’d turn the jury off IMO, some actress, but her demeanor has cracks. One wise ass remark or look under cross and she’s done.

Think I’m too immersed right now to think objectively from a juror standpoint in totality. Like you said, likely not going to trial.. fingers crossed.

McKeever’s Myspace page only lasted 5 weeks, wonder when he was arrested and if that is the reason he’s stopped posting (if it’s the same guy), and Casey left a message on his page in July 08 apparently, but I am not a member so can’t see that.

  14. Kleat says:

McKeever and Casey had text (?) conversations on June 10th, and another communication on June 11th. McKeever’s name is listed with the word ‘scam’.

Was Casey planning something with this guy, something fraudulent possibly? Why would she list ‘scam’ on his name with her cell phone?

I have to say I believed little Caylee died in the 1st hour when Casey grabbed her upped and left the house from her argument with Cindy and I firmly believe she choked her to death to strike out at Cindy and she put the tape on after death to stop leakage and also disacociated from what she did. I also believe she visited once where she put Caylee. Even though I think she was distressed over what she did her personality disorder put her right back in the Me Me person that she grew up to be.

It does seem oretty clear watching this tragedy play out observing the a family members from day one covering for kc but at the same time pointing to her guilt. They never provided an alibi or any supporting evidence to prove her innocense. Not a single verifiable fact. But I am wondering about the date 6/9 given both by cindy and kc as the last time they saw caylee and am wondering if this was a an attempt to provide an alibi for someone? The le was going by this date initially until a neighbor told le they saw caylee on 6/12. Also I am wondering if the shorts mentioned in the autopsy were placed there much later in an attempt to validate the description of what caylee was wearing on 6/16 that was given by ga.

kleat, i just had a bad thought from a post of yours a while back, what did keith williams find a bag of ? stuffed what? where? i am just thinking about that girl pic

  30. Kleat says:

susan, my guess is that you will have to wait for psychologists to argue that one out, maybe you can find something online that discusses it.

One thought that crossed my mind, is the ‘teaching a lesson’ theme. A child, like Casey growing up, who is having problems with parents, might be told that you are being punished so you learn a lesson. Maybe she didn’t care about her decisions that she made and whether they hurt someone or not, stealing, lying, driving drunk and getting flat tires, risk taking without limits, for example. So maybe she was told by her parents, you do that again and I’ll do this, to ‘teach you a lesson’. Maybe this was a reoccuring theme heard from her parents when she got into trouble and it’s repeated by Casey in the ‘nanny is taking Caylee away from me she said, to teach me a lesson for a period of time, like a ‘time out’, a grounding, or another consequence as a more mature Casey.

This isn’t based on any knowledge on my part, I just noticed the link to the ‘lesson’ as so many of Casey’s ideas for her stories, come from some bit of truth she knows. Maybe she is wondering about the consequences if she kills someone and the consequences of taking that risk, a risk that she wants to take to make her life better.

  31. Kleat says:

nightmares at this point, what about setting up a defense from jail… but does the behaviour fit, I’ve heard some comment that it does not (but that was probably a short video clip from NG or something… I think we will have to wait and see, I doubt the nightmare thing though, unless they are all about her. No way nightmares about the baby, she does not feel guilt, remorse, sadness for loss of the baby, it’s not haunting her.

But sadly, those moments are the exception. Most of the time I’m staring at my monitor with an open mouth as drool drips down my chin, soiling my keyboard.

I know, I know. I know what I have to do. I have to keep reading and re-reading, right? ‘K! Thank you all for forcing me to use my brain. In the meantime I am trying to compile a list of all the evidence, forensics, interviews etc. that we still haven’t heard about. Also does anyone here think there’s a possibility Baez will be tossed from the case like rotten pizza once the Florida Bar has concluded their complaints? I believe D. Casey has registered the complaint because he was told to “not call 911 if he found the body” ~ but what else was he told to do? And who told him? Once the judge heard the initial complaint he added his own complaint which moved it up a notch. Apparently only 10% ever make it past the first level so it’s pretty serious whatever it is. My apologies if this has all been discussed. Am off to re-read!

  33. BEES KNEES says:

  34. artgal16 says:

Blink youve said on several occasions you think Casey will take a plea, but in order to get a plea bargain she has to tell the truth.
I cannot see Casey telling the truth, I dont believe she is even capable of it. Sociopaths lack anxiety as I understand it and when I remember her initial taped interview with the police when she was first detained, she calmly led them on a wild goose chase right up to even taking them to Universal studio to her so-called office before
admitting she didnt work there. I dont know of any 22 year olds under those circumstances that could have calmly done such a thing. Do you believe that Baez has the information about her prints on the duct tape and that is why she must eventually cop a plea? Because barring a smoking gun and that Baez is aware of such a thing, I cannot see his advising her to plea either.

Yes, but the “truth” she tells is based on what the State will “buy” if indeed she spins it. I KNOW Baez knows her prints on the duct tape. There is no speculation on my part, he knows.

Speaking of not doing one’s homework . . . I’m a right plank for posting the above.

  38. Kleat says:

Felix, why a right plank?? Was he??

Why did Casey text him and back and forth on June 10?? Why does his name on her phone include the word ‘scam’? What were they up to? Or was she just connecting him to the ‘situation’ as a suspect– maybe someone who was involved in some kidnap scheme because of something Casey got herself into with bad people (suggested by George very early on to LE). And where is he now? Why no interview available?

and compare to the McKeever with make-up as Doc character from Back to the Future, at Universal:

I guess it was the pose and the mouth, but first, it was the eyes (without aging makeup) in the profile photo– wide arching eyebrows, large eyes.

But it’s been debunked… oh well, better that Caylee has not got a criminal for a father (too).

  41. Celeste B. says:

I have a question….what do you think the exchange between Cindy and Casey was about when Cindy said during the jail visit “we forgive you for whatever you may have said” and Casey replied with “Oh, don’t worry, I haven’t said anything”.

What do you believe that was specifically about?

    #338 Kleat — A right plant as in thick as . . . .

I had never heard of the geezer’s name before reading recent posts here and it seems that it’s been out and about for quite awhile.

Any reference to cars/autos shouts out Don Reid Ford to me. Annie, Ricardo, the ex of Troy Brown (I can’t recall now because I ate 2 tacos).

I’m being facetious, up to a point, but I was unaware that that so much information was out and about. And perhaps it’s all for naught. I just think there’s a nexus.

  43. Jill from Texas says:

    Blink,

I’m surprised that Downing and Rusciano have not been brought up. I personally believe that both are lying about Casey’s use of “zani” (Xanax). I think that Annie supplied it, and Rusciano was fully aware of the affects it had on Casey’s daughter – Caylee slept soundly while Casey would “play.”

The instant messages between Casey and Rusciano are very telling. Zani is never spelled Zanny, as in a faux nanny Zenaida. It’s spelled zani as in zani-bar or rather Xanax. And in this case, Zani has been personified – Rusciano tells Casey that she can bring her daughter over as long as she’s with “another adult.” Here they are talking about the drug, not a nanny. It’s not like he’s saying, “Oh sure, bring your daughter over here with the babysitter.” He’s saying, “Well, as long as she’s with the other adult (meaning she’s on Xanax, and I know she’ll stay asleep), then yeah, bring her over.”

Then Casey mentions that Zani has to pick up her dog in Oviedo. Now Zani is Annie, the supplier. See? The reference “Zani” works two ways with Casey. Zani: the drug Xanax. And Zani: the nanny, a.k.a. Annie Downing. But Zani, in reference to Annie, has to pick up her dog, so Casey can’t get any Xanax. This is probably Annie’s dog that Caylee loved and talked about often, at least according to Cindy Anthony.

Remember, Rusciano lied about even knowing Casey. Then he got caught in his lie and finally admitted their affair. But even though he lost his job over this indiscretion, there was no way this former police officer was willing to admit that he was aware of Casey drugging her daughter so that she could have uninterrupted sex with him.

And Annie? Well, listen to her interviews. Listen to how, after lawyering up even, she is extremely nervous and tearful at times. Especially when it comes to the questions regarding her access do Xanax, and whether or not she gave Xanax to Casey.

Later, in Casey and Rusciano’s instant messaging, Casey is frustrated that she can’t reach “zani” and then berates her mother for not getting any meds for her back. (Cindy apparently could not baby-sit because she had injured herself doing yardwork.) Casey expresses her disbelief that Cindy, who is a nurse, doesn’t get anything for her pain. I think this is yet another reference to Casey’s frustration that there are no prescription meds in the house for her to fall back on while Annie is unavailable and her mother is unwilling to baby-sit.

All of this communication happened in May ’08, way before the name Zenaida Gonalez was ever mentioned. So, IMHO, I believe that Zani, the nanny, was code for both Xanax, the drug, and Annie, the drug supplier. And I think phone records could probably prove that while Casey was instant messaging Rusciano, she was also trying to phone Annie Downing. But has LE looked into this further? Are they even questioning whether Downing and Rusciano told the whole truth?

Uhoh Jill, and your not even new here, lol?
Annie is a central figure in this case, but imo, not for the Xanax. Have you ever read my piece on Annie and Zannis’s Excellent Adventure?

Hey Susan re:325. The source is the National Enquirer. It has been repeated on many legitimate news shows but they do give their source as The Enquirer. In recent years they have made a part time practice of digging up some truth and printing it, along with the two headed alien impregnating Miley, or whatever. So I am giving it about a 70-30 chance of being true.

  45. dddeerma says:

Still waiting to hear: why can Casey not just plead to the check fraud charges? I keep thinking about it, but cannot come up with anything except what I posted much earlier.

  46. renandrj says:

RE #334.”Sociopaths lack anxiety” Casey’s been looking very anxious the last few times in court, she’s touching her hair non stop, tugging at her clothes, looks to be taking deep breaths a lot so I think it’s starting to hit her that she’s not going to get away with this. And I agree her prints are DEFINITELY on that tape and the DP lawyer knows that.

  47. westsidehudson says:

“I KNOW Baez knows her prints on the duct tape. There is no speculation on my part, he knows.”

    Okay Blinky,

WHEN are those results going to be released to us? Never, because the FBI did the processing? How does Baez know, if they haven’t been released? Have they been released to Baez in discovery? Please hint, my cranium will otherwise explode.

They will probably not be prior to trial. There are many exclusions to public discovery that are a part of the Sunshine Laws. I know alot of people are of the opinion we will know everything, not the case.

Still trying to keep up with all the theories on this site, but I do have a comment for #330 Kleat. I have believed all along that what Casey was telling everyone (Zanny took Caylee to teach her a lesson) was Casey’s way of telling her mother (this is to teach YOU a lesson).

Secondly, I am confused as to why you think (know) that the Anthony’s as well as Casey KNOW her prints were on the tape. Wouldn’t they be MORE upset, wouldn’t they be trying to take a different approach than still maintaining that she is innocent???????????

  49. Joan (Canada) says:

Hi Guys, fairly new to this but oh, the information is outstanding.
Am trying to connect all the dots and have been reading everything
twice but so much is new info that I have to re-read everything again.
Blink, P.343 you refer to your piece on Annie and Zanni’s Excellent adventure.

Anybody, where would I fine that?

  50. Kate says:

In RE: 346, I think Casey’s preening is more nervous, than anxious. Anxiety generally stems from fear, and nerves from apprehension. May seem like an argument of semantics, but I believe there is a big difference.
