Christine Sheddy Case Murder In Maryland:Chapter 5
Do
Christine Marie Sheddy arrived at the Farmhouse the evening of November 2nd. She was murdered there during a party on November 12, 2007. The following is a chronicle of what happened in between.
November 2
After days of myspace messages reflecting a serious breakup between Levi and Christine and the ensuing argument with her Mom, Christine packs up and makes arrangements for Q and the boys to meet Jr. and Tia. Q met them in the parking lot of the Milford, DE WalMart. It is believed they drove that far to meet her there because Christine had no idea how to give Q directions, approximately a 1.5 hour drive.
November 4
Levi is still looking for Christine. Christine tells Q she is rounding up tin at Jr and Tia request to sell for cash.
By all accounts, Tia and Christine are chums.
They were headed out shortly to sell it to a buyer.
November 5
Christine and JR have an argument, he tells her she needs to pull her weight if she is going to stay there. He later describes the argumentment.
November 6
Christine calls Lynn for the boys social security numbers as JR has told her if she wants to stay, she needs to apply for Government asisstance immediately and contribute to the household.
(important note: Christine specifically does not call Levi on this, although he most certainly has a record of the boys social security numbers from the year before where he claimed the kids on his tax returns, who did not live with him, prepared by his mom, Joyce. who got a $4,000 cut while Levi smoked the other $2500. I saw the email where Christine learns of this as she was under the impression that money was for a starter house fund.
November 8
Q is speaking to Christine daily, she is chopping wood outside today for a fire.
November 9
The Farmhouse occupants are burning wood in the wood stove. Steve Magg shows up. A Flue fire results in a hole burned in the roof, the fire department is called and they put it out, into the early am. A Volunteer Firefighter named Serge later tells detectives during a search on the farm that he remembered Christine the night of that fire. She was crying because there had been puppies and dogs there she was afraid for.
November 10
Christine calls her sister Jennifer, explains her misery in the farmhouse, and arrangements are made for her and the boys stay with her and her then fiancee’, Paul.
Jr. calls the father of one of Tia’s children and asks if he can keep the child another day due to the chimney fire, and the required clean up.
A direct witness, speaking on the condition of anonymity to blinkoncrime.com arrives at the Farmhouse upon hearing of the fire early evening. He has met Christine previously on the farm. He approaches the house and noticed Christine had peeked out the window to see who it was.
As he was approaching the door to knock, he notices Christine locks both doors. He tells her who is, reminds her they met, and tells her he wanted to take a look at the damage. She opens the door, leaving the screen locked and they chat for a second before she lets him in to see the damage.
Christine was home alone with her boys Isaac and Zeke, who were sitting on the couch. She was cleaning up the fire mess on her own, and hanging plastic from the walls. Jr and Tia had gone out to a party or club. When I asked him to describe Christine’s demeanor, he told me “She was scared.” I said, do you mean perhaps she did not recognize you? He replied, “no I got the sense that she was scared of something.”
November 11
Another party at the Farmhouse, day before Veterans day. At about 6 PM there were already 15–20 people there. There was a trough filled with ice and beer set up in the outbuilding, and a fire raging in the burn pit.
JR was filling bottles and cans with gas, ripped pieces of cloth and lighting them and throwing them in the fire making explosions for his amusement while there were kids running around. (pictued above Jennifer Waters Johnson)
November 12
Possibly, Christine spoke to her sister this day. Q speaks to Christine after 9PM. He is concerned and asks Christine if he should come get her. She said Levi is coming. She did not say when, or for what reason.
They say goodnight and Christine bathed the boys and put them to bed.
Q was due to call her back that evening, he did not reach Christine. Q heard the equivalent of “cat calls” during their conversation. Very, very loud.
Christine is murdered.

RE Christinesmom; I’m the same way, no man will ever put their hands on a woman as long as I’m around… But sadly times have changed as for respect to women and everyone else. I’m 47 years old and have never said a cuss-word in front of my own mother, I’m not bragging but old school values are gone. What a shame.
RE seekingjustice;
Yes, here in Md if a mother files for assistance the known father has to pay support to the gov. If he does not pay they will void his drivers license, no tag renewal, and/or garnish his wages.
After this chapter I think we all know what happened and I believe Blink knows who did what. Finding Christine is now paramount to put these animals behind bars for a long-long time.
still no mention of Christine washing her close @ Domo’s <<< that’s a link right there.
Sorry but now I’m Pizzed… Christine’s mom is a strong lady, I couldn’t do it. I’d be the one in jail right now.
I am baffled about the night of 11/9. When serge came across christine crying he obviously asked about her welfare and she mentioned the puppies. This indicates she was not yet concerned for herself or for her children or I am certain she would have asked for help.whatever happened to frighten her, it happened after serge and the other firefighters had left.
Re #47 – Charisse & Red Ranger:
“By then, she was starting to know what kind of person JR was and what kind of friends he might have” . . . certainly reason to lock the door & hide, especially if drug deals were being run out of there, or the farm was actually a ‘drug production facility’. There are so many signs that point to this IMO; neighbors reported constant coming & going, no other viable means of income for this lot of losers – who carry on with a party lifestyle as though they had money to spare, seclusion out in the country with plenty of room to set up a ‘lab’. . . I am highly suspect that this was going on. Have heard a few other posters express the same – and no one has disputed this theory of yet. (Could also explain the patches of the field where “nothing seems to grow” . . . ie: chemical dump . . .)
Question;
If something previously happened that Christine was afraid of someone, why did she not at least walk to the neighbors for help or to use their phone the day she was left alone?
Also, am confused re: the situation during Christine’s call to Q for help the night of the party . . . Moving around with a phone, trying to find a quieter spot to get her message through at a very loud party, with others not giving her any peace or space, making cat calls to her as she is trying to talk – this is very very different from being secluded in the bathroom bathing her children with a party in the background elsewhere in the house . . . ??? Two very different scenarios, IMO – so I must not be understanding this correctly. If she was bathing her kids & putting them to bed, could the cat calls have been not necessarily directed at her, but background party noise? A drunken/drugged crowd with clearly no morals or inhibitions – perhaps one of the loser gals ‘dancing on the tables’, taking off her shirt, etc. or whatever – with the crowd cat calling in response? So loud that it could be heard in the bathroom/bedroom? By the time Christine had put the kids to bed, things were completely out of hand, & she got dragged in?
To the people who have spoken with Mayor McDermott, I am hoping his comments were in the past. Have you spoken to him more recently?
I am thinking that if he isn’t brain dead, he has had plenty of time to think about how ridiculous it was to ever believe that a woman who doesn’t come from the area and couldn’t even give directions to get there in the first place, left the farm on foot – without money, without food, without her clothing, without a cell phone, without a car, without her kids….
And she chose to do that on the day she had plans to leave anyway, without contacting the friend that she had been speaking to daily, or speaking to the sister who she was supposed to be moving in with, or the man who was supposed to pick her up that day, and without contacting the back-up ride she had set up, and without setting up any place to go….
Curious if he has changed his tune….
If I were one of the cops, I would have been so frustrated by him pushing that theory!
Steve magg is key. He shows up 11/9. But he is not the person who “stopped by” on 11/10. He was not a stranger to christine.

My husband owns his own small business. Christine would help with paperwork and phone calls. She would take care of her kids. She helped in anyway she could. We provided everything for the household financially. Christine did get a small food stamp allowance of $168.00 from the State. Christine and the kids had a roof over their heads,& food on the table. Nobody went without.
One more thing Lynn, I know YOU reached out to Christine and that she was trying to get out of there. I was wondering if Christine was too embarrassed to tell you how bad things really were. I’m sure you had no idea how much danger she was in. I didn’t mean to imply you were to blame in any way. You were not!
RE Charisse;
on mcdermott,
mcdermott’s own father will have nothing to do with him.
#54 Christine probably did not trust her own instincts at that point. She had been beaten down so badly. Like many us do at times, I doubt she listened to that little voice we all have.
I really don’t think she knew her life was in serious danger either or I believe her instincts would have had her grab her kids and run.
blink,
for some reason this case freaks me out, could be that I was in a similar situation at one point in my life, I have been to scared to really get into this case, I have a read the first post by you and did a little research and found myself haunted….tomorrow is dedicated to reading up on this….
this, at one time in my life could have been me and I thank God each and every day I got me and my children out of this mess….
thanks again for looking after the forgotten ones! there is a special place in heaven for you…
question what drives you…might be too personal of a question…but I know what drives me….
i love this site, i love the people who post here, they all give me strength and courage to face another day and for that I am truly blessed!!!
thanks Blinksters!
#53 Tams, the only problem I have with that scenario is that – the fire department was there on 11/9. If a drug lab was set up, I am thinking they would have seen it???
Boo, we don’t know that she wasn’t afraid for herself and the boys by then.
She might not have wanted to tell Sergio the whole story of why she was crying, especially if her kids were with her. Generally, moms try to protect kids from worrying.
Tams, I am guessing they were taking drugs and not selling them.
They didn’t have money, I am guessing, by the fact that they were stealing tin and that JR was trying to force Christine to get on assistance.
They weren’t at the farm long, and couldn’t afford rent. So, if they were trying to start a meth lab, they were either doing it to supply themselves drugs or they hadn’t gotten very far in the process yet.
Either way, I have heard that the fumes and chemicals from meth labs lingers for years, so if they were running a meth lab, they should be able to still pick up the chemical traces, I would think, perhaps even on the clothing of Christine’s that was found.
It just doesn’t ring true to me.
#55, Tams, I agree that I have been trying to sort out those scenarios, too.
I could see her stepping out of the kids room into a hallway to talk with Q.
I read somewhere that the music was loud, and if the party was moving back and forth between outside and inside, it would explain the noise coming from everywhere.
If Justin wanted to have a sexual encounter with Christine, he probably would have been looking for an opportunity to separate her from the pack, and her leaving the rest of the party to put her kids to bed – might have been seen as his best chance.
Public Eye, take a look at the google map location of this farm. It’s miles from nowhere, there were any neighbors to run to.
The address is: 2911 Byrd Road, Pocomoke City, Worcester County, MD
Click on Google Maps and select the Satelite view:
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
OK I apparently missed some things.
Where did I miss someone reporting she was beaten with a shovel and buried on the property?
Where did I miss there was a piece of carpet missing from the house?
WHO reported these items?
Why/how is there speculation/knowledge Domo, Levi, Joyce, JR, or TIA are reading this?
I’ve been doing my best to keep up, but I really missed a few things here.
Also you describe the farmhouse occupants on 11/9 as burning wood I the wood stove. JR, Tia and kids and christine. Then steve shows. On 11/10 JR calls the father of Tia’s kids and indicates he is keeping this child. Then they go off, leaving christine alone. Her boys are on the couch. No steve? This child of tia’s might be the reason christine didn’t leave with firefighters on 11/9.
RE FairWitness;
the farm is not miles from nowhere, there is a house that share the same lane as the farm house about 500 feet? away. there are neighbors EVERYWHERE, and it’s only about 1 mile from a major highway and 2 or 3 miles from the city.
But there are homes in very close proximity
I didn’t look at the map, I don’t have too I know the area well
#66 I think there is a 2909 Byrd Rd. The neighbor that had the security system installed. JR and Tia tried to take Peace orders out on them and they tried to one out on JR and Tia too.
But JR and Tia, didn’t need christine as a babysitter if the child was scheduled to be with the dad, so why keep the child if they are going out, WTH?
Re #64 & 65 – Charisse:
You make a lot of very valid points re: the farm as a meth lab that I had not taken into consideration – thank you for helping to clarify that for me. What you said makes sense. (Just trying to get my head around this whole scenario – yikes!)
Also – re: Justin following Christine to where she was putting the kids to bed – very interesting thoughts/points as well . . . So then, perhaps she was trying to at least get him away from the kids, so she went back outside after putting them to bed, Justin still following/harrassing her . . . Maybe she tried to get away from him once outside by ‘hiding’ in the barn (or whatever outbuilding – where a shovel could be found) – & he finds her, tries to force his drunken self on her? A struggle ensues, ending with Justing hitting her with the shovel? (Perhaps she first grabbed the shovel for self defense, & he angrily grabbed it from her?) He realizes she is dead, & doesn’t know what to do?
How old is this Justin Hadel, anyway? Why do I get the impression that he is younger than the rest of this crowd? Young enough that his mommie is still coming to his rescue, send him elsewhere?
Looking at the other woman who died shortly after Christine went missing, it was 3 drugged out males who separated that woman for sexual reasons, then, fought with her about something like money or drugs and killed her.
The reason I keep thinking that it would be the sexual motive is, basically…
I can’t imagine Christine having a big enough fight with these guys that she would end up dead – the night before she is about to get out of there.
What would they fight about that would get so out of hand that they would kill her?
Money? They had already fought about that, but Christine was leaving, so I doubt it would be about money.
Drugs? I am guessing Q would have mentioned if she was high or stoned or drunk. Maybe Christine would have made a comment about them using hard drugs, but someone who is sober-ish, usually doesn’t goad people who are drunk and / or on hard drugs. And the sort of people who whisper to hide things generally aren’t the sort of people who goad drugged-out bullies.
Was JR or Justin or one of them abusing someone else? THAT might be enough to get Christine in a fight with these guys.
Did Christine know too much about something and was threatening to tell? I doubt it. If so, she would have likely kept her mouth shut until she was safely off the farm.
#66, that is what makes me really PO’d about anyone even floating the idea of her walking off into the sunset.
C’mon. I mean, JR and Tia had only been gone for 2 hours. If she had left on foot, she would have still been very close by.
Dee, I’m glad that you are safe and well.
I have thought the same thing about other cases.
In 2 instances, I know that I came very close to being one of the missing children on milk cartons when I was a kid. Very, very close.
I think that is why I keep wanting to help in these things.
They must have had neighbors fairly close..the ones who Jr and company stole from and harrassed. It may have been another house on the same farm. The neighbors even hired a security guard and used a motion senstive security system for their home. And have pics from the nov 12th party. But Christine may not have even known there were any neighbors in the area.
I take it’s only a STORY that JR and Tia left Christine alone. I am thinking no one ever left her there. Something bad happened to her, and quote unquote leaving was just an alibi for not being there while she quote unquote left.
Eyeswideopen, i do recall reading in here that the carpets got ripped up at some point after the party.
Domo posted something somewhere (look at the last thread).
Ok I get the picture.
Did Tia and Jr REALLY leave at some point?
I’ll have to go back and look for the shovel references, but the broken claws off that rusty hammer are unnerving.
RE Gypsy;
in the winter months more than just the one neighbor (which is visible all year) should have been visible from the farm house.
I think the closes neighbor is the Morrison’s, They had restraining orders on JR I do believe (not sure) The Morrison’s or great people and would have helped in any way they can but I’m sure Christine did not know that.
It’s all a blur and hard to piece together, and who knows what that crew did after the fact. Disturbing
Public Eye, I was going by the aerial satellite view. It looks like there is nothing around. My mistake.
As for why Christine didn’t run to a neighbor, she probably was trapped and unable to get away. Her two babies were with her.
And maybe the attack happened in an instant and she had no idea she was in mortal danger. It’s just not known until the case is solved.
It’s my understanding that a witness is in custody who says Christine was beaten to death with a shovel. I’m sure this is being investigated. This case is solvable and will be solved. I believe this.
EyesWIDEOpen #67, I wish I could tell you where I read those things.
LOL! I have been reading so much since this began that it is hard to work backwards.
I think the hitting with a shovel thing might have been in the Scared Monkey’s interview and on the Scared Monkey’s site.
The missing carpet…. I am less sure of where I read that, whether the Tattler, Scared Monkey’s, or in one of the comments on here…. closer to the beginning of the series, I think.
Re:67, Regarding the main suspects visiting this site: Domo has been commenting on the site, under the chapter where Tia and JR are first mentioned. He says that he knows JR is following the case on all of the sites, too. There was also a comment by Levi’s cousin in the chapter where his truck is shown.
I still think something went down on that farm that Christine knew about..it doesn’t matter that she never said anything about it..somethings people witness..well others won’t let them walk away from. I still think drugs and other not so savvy things were going down.. As far as there being a mini meth lab there..very possible..67 arces with tons of outbuildings and chicken coops and barns..no better place to start a meth lab..and not surprisingly from what is on the Tattler those buildings were also destroyed by JR.they have burnt them to the ground too.
JR had something in mind all right, when he went to get her at Wal-Mart, he was going to make Christine one of his recruits. He thought she was of Levi’s caliber because she was his girlfriend. What he did not know, because he did not really know her, is that she was not a low-life slut like them and she had scruples and morals. So she didn’t fit into his little plan. They killed her to keep her quiet about something she witnessed there. Something that scared her to death and I don’t think it had anything to do with sex. Scared her so much that she was afraid to tell anyone over the phone. They killed those puppies also…prob to teach her a lesson of some sort. Christine was NOT a crack whore…she would never give anyone sex for drugs because she did not do drugs. I don’t understand what a “cat call” is. What is a cat call, can someone explain to me?
#54, Public Eye, well, I read that the neighbors shot at JR and crew when they tried to steal stuff from them the second time.
If I was Christine, I doubt I would have gone to a neighbor who shot at the people I was staying with.
Question..did Christine call Q at 9PM on the 12th or did Q call Christine that time? Christine was on JR’s phone..I just can’t remember who called who that night..anyone..anyone?
larosebud, catcalls are the lurid sounds construction workers make towards women who walk by
maybe more vulgar than lurid
larosebud: a cat call is a term used generally when men are hooting and hollering at a woman. Anything from whistling to saying inappropriate x-rated comments. It’s used to get the attention of the female. Could be as innocent as the “wolf whistle” to anything else you can imagine that a guy would yell out to a woman…
Re #85- larosebud:
A “cat call” is slang for the sort of things that for example a bunch of construction workers would shout out at a pretty woman walking by their site: whistles, “hey baby!”, etc. – LOL. Typically very macho/chauvenistic and derogatory in tone . . . Just trying to put it into a stereotypical context for you.
RE Charisse;
You may be correct I can’t keep up with everywhere this is posted.
I highly doubt that the “Morrison’s” shot at them, they are good people, it could’ve been another neighbor though, I dunno.
I do remember reading that two of the men were on a neighbors property in Snow Hill walking the woods line on day and they returned the next day and the owner of the property fired a shot in the air and they ran off.
LOL suz – we were sharing the same visual there! . . . your post wasn’t up yet when I posted mine to larosebud . . .
No wonder this Levi guy is the way he is..lovely role model of a mother, eh? It’s too bad some of these fire filled cans didn’t explode on the one hurling them. Karma’s too slow sometimes.
Lynn, you’re in my prayers. I can not image what you’re going through. I’d be furious too. Is there some on in the press there that you can bug the bejezus out of to get this in the local media? Call the police every single day and the press…I promise the squeaky wheel will get the oil. If we can do ANYTHING- send letters…..whatever…please let us know.
Check out what this post said on the Tattler… it’s clearly mother Joyce:
lookingglass, said:
Although, I would never condone any of Joyce’s action, it does appear she was the one supporting her deadbeat son and his family.
While no one should ever be murdered, I can’t agree with Christine’s family that she was a wonderful mother. Poor Hailey and those 2 boys. Can you imagine how Hailey felt every time her mom would leave and take her brothers away? It appears those 2 boys never had any stabilty either.
Yes, she was a young mother, caught up in the cycle of a battered woman which impaired her decision making however I feel frustrated about her choices when they are emotionally hurtful to her own children.
I thank the Good Lord, Lynn took custody of Hailey. She has lost both her father and mother but at least she had some stabilty over the years with her grandparents.
I pray Christine is found for the sake of her family and children but I am going to call like I see it.

pak, with respect, I want everyone to be clear- If there is a post in the entire free world that defends the abuse Christine endured, or is critical of her family, I would prefer you not bring it here for discussion. This is their haven. We are victims advocate site, and that includes victims families.
B
So, Christine is inside the house trying to bathe and put her little guys to bed. Some of the party is probably still outside..and some have moved inside..it is November and therefore cold at night.
So..the party goers are very loud and probably very drugged and drunk.
I think it is possible she was beaten inside..drug outside where the end came. As far as a shovel being in the house..well that is possible..considering there was a fire in the house..debris would need to be moved. And we aren’t talking Better Homes and Gardens here..go back to the first pics..these freakin people spray paint their names on walls..talk about low class arrested development..add in anger, violence, low tolerance for anyone disagreeing with their lifestyle, drugs, sex and booze..they make trailrr trash look good.
#85 larosebud. Same as a wolf whistle, like when you walk by construction workers?
Regarding the carpet, it was in a post made by Jennifer on the tattler. That post is on Scared Monkeys.
#86 That wasnt at the Byrd road address. That happened at the Nassawango address. They moved into a trailer on the same property that Tia’s mother was renting, after Christine was killed.
