Charlottesville, VA– Just passing the month mark, the disappearance of Morgan Harrington from the John Paul Jones Area located on the UVA campus, leaves us with more questions than answers. Part II
The Faces of Her Facebook
Help Find Morgan Harrington was developed by a few concerned individuals interested in spreading the word about Morgan’s disappearance and boasts over 30,000 members. Not all posts are welcome.
In particular, a member by the name of Nelson Kane was recently banned for posting very detailed hypothesis scenarios that sparked a firestorm of interest in the self-appointed athlete scout. His posts were deleted at the request of Law Enforcement who admit tasking two officers with monitoring the web for such activity in Morgan’s case.
Additionally, Mr. Kane reached out to several individuals on facebook as well as the Harrington family’s findmorgan.com site in attempts to speak to the family directly and request an interview. The Harrington’s were made aware of the concern for such requests by sources close to the investigation.
He has recently changed his facebook drastically. 
Mr. Kane, a member of the family owning the longtime furniture store of the same name in Charlottesville is also a UVA alumni and season ticket holder. In addition to UVA, Kane also claims to have attended Virginia Tech on many of his many social networking profiles. He also fancies himself as somewhat of a Rock band critic.
On his site, nkscouting.com which he has maintained 
since 2001, Kane chronicles his trips to scout mostly High School basketball and football athletes. In an effort to make his site more interesting (his words) he details the travel experience, routes, times and in some cases photos of his visits to High Schools mostly within a few hours driving distance.
Very early on in Morgan’s case, blinkoncrime.com explored the idea that perhaps the double murder of VT freshmen David Metzler and Heidi Childs on August 27th should be investigated as a possible link to Morgan’s case simply because they attend the school and Morgan and Heidi bare a remarkable resemblance to one another.
As far as very odd coincidences go, the location of Nelson Kane’s scouting foray the evening of the August 28th could not be more relevant.
Kane scouted the game at Jefferson Forest High School. The very 
School Heidi Childs graduated from a year earlier. Unlike most of Kane’s other journal entries of his athlete accolades, there is no mention of his travel experience to or from Forest High School so it is unclear where he left from, when he got there, or when he returned home.
This is in no way an accusation that Mr. Kane had any involvement whatsoever in such a heinous crime, of course, but given his proclivities for leaving at all hours of the day and night his keen attention to travel detail and familiarity with the area: Perhaps he saw someone or something amiss in his trip that could help investigators.
On Saturday October 17th, Kane scouts a game, listens to the UVA football game on his way home and is home in plenty of time to make the concert.
Blink how do you know he was at the concert you ask? I do not. I do know he knows alot about security at the JPJ Arena, how to navigate the different lots near Uhall, and of course that there are blue portable lavatories next to Lanigan Field. Could someone please re-post the video link to MH inside the arena? TIA. I saw the video where “Granny” told of seeing and hearing the gal and guy fighting in the parking lot. I too believe that she saw Morgan. The Swarovski crystals would have shown, so easily, whenever the slightest glint of light touched it. As for Morgan’s hair being pulled back, I would pull mine back as well, after being in a crowded and hot arena. Also, the misty rain would have been a good reason to get my hair out of my face.
I just hope that Morgan is found soon.
The reason I’m hesitating on this one, is because I think it’s the key to us figuring out that foreign call we have all been reading about.

I’m submitting that she spoke with X or was otherwise connected with him through an earlier call/text that took place prior to SS’s final 8:48 incoming call. That had to come *after* a theoretical call (or text) – say, between 8:30 and 8:45 pm. By the time SS called, MH had already reconfigured her evening, ie “leaving arena/getting a ride home.”
In regard to 1241. There is an announced crack down on speeding by the VSP all along I-64 this weekend. They did the same thing this time last year. Nothing to do with this case. Slow down.

This person HAD Morgan by this time, even if her cell phone was with her, the battery was REMOVED? I know the back falling off has been talked about, but could this guy have beeen dumb enough to think that by removing the phone battery this would be something of importance to him? For what reason? It’s the phone that would hold all pertinent info. The only reason for the removal would have been to prevent them from being tracked.

J2K – your post #1290 – I think you are right. The meeting wasnt planned actually. She found herself outside, and so she called someone she knew was working security (DW). Probably the BG had also worked security at Bonaroo, or in some shape or form, knew DW. They all hang out together – a posse.
So Morgan calls this DW guy knowing he works on the “outer rim” of security at the arena, and hes like, yeah we’re going to go toke or whatever, come with us. So they all go to the RV lot.
Blink – your post #1303 – she’s sending a text at 9:20 to the guy who is “out of state” and not considered a suspect. Maybe he really isnt. Maybe shes just started dating him or they are interested in each other. In either case, BG is like, who are you texting, etc. He tries to take the phone and Morgan gets freaked and takes the battery out so he cant see anything. I always felt Morgan took the battery out to hide something from someone. BG is very controlling and Morgan is scared of his reaction, so she takes it out.
That seriously flips BG out. He is ticked and that sets him off in to a range. She’s moved on and he in angry, and now shes infuriated him more with taking the battery out of the phone, because clearly the text is a “big deal” to her when she says it is NO big deal.
So he flips out.
That could possibly be an explanation, dont you think?

For heaven’s sake 9:20 was her last interaction with the basketball players! They supposedly left her alone in the RV lot at 9:20. I have a hard time believing she went 10 minutes without texting or calling anyone while she was on the bridge…Last interaction with basketball players, purse and cell found in RV LOT (at spot of last interaction) and last activity on phone was at 9:20 (time of last interaction)???
IMO we are ignoring the very obvious. Not to say if the unthinkable happened it was just an accident but…if these are the facts and all else is speculation…

Maybe I’m going back to my mescaline days. This seems to me like a quality recording. The earlier video with her profile would place her a little to the right of the drum set (which fwiw is around sec 312 if you look at the chart). I see what looks like 3 females, spaced apart, walking right by the stage at the end of that clip. The long haired blonde, wearing black, turns back toward her friends just as the video ends. You start to see them just as the camera pans down at the 3 minute mark, they are walking in the aisle (moat if you will) between the seats and the stage. 2 blonds, one brunette. Maybe your monitor is better than mine, I know I have good eyesight. Here’s the link again:

It is the earlier video that got me to looking at more of the ones on YouTube as now you have an area to focus on (near the drum set).
Anyway, been checking this and other sites out for the past month or so. Must say your theories and style here are/is more intelligent.

All happening to the left of the “big, back of head”, I do see the figures one after another stepping down off the right side of the platform of boxes, and continuing to walk along front of stage.
There looks to be a blonde in black, hair maybe in ponytail, pushing up a longer sleeve or something on left arm. The fellow ahead of “her”, turning back to look at “her” right at the end of the video, appears to be dressed in the same black, short sleeved t-shirt with white cuffs as Dee’s male friends seen in other videos.

Lovely- no offense, but i generally do not repeat answers if I have weighed in already, which on that issue, I have, several times. The cover was “recovered” so no, I think the removal of the battery was intentional to avoid tracking, imo.

When I went through and considered the validity of all the blonde-in-black sightings, it was after Granny had already been seemingly debunked. It seemed like everyone here had written her off, even though she seemed fairly credible to me, so I assumed she had to be totally confused.
I don’t quite see how she managed to talk to them, though, to give out that nugget of advice. That seemed a little dubious to me, and was probably the bit that caused me to roll with the debunked. Because I think Granny would have been in that car with the windows rolled up, and the door locks checked twice. And she didn’t seem like she would have been hopping out fast, you know?
Suppose LE is asking if MH used anyone else’s phone simply because (1) Someone Said to LE “I got this text from MH and it said (fill in the blank) but oops I deleted it because of course at the time I didn’t realize it was important. So sorry. . .” AND
(2) the “sent” text just isn’t showing up on MH’s phone which LE does have. . . so that means either:
(A) she sent text but deleted it (not likely because other texts are on the phone);
(B) she used someone else’s phone to send the text or
(C) the text was never sent and Someone is not telling the truth?
Yes, all the way around. Could be. There is no question for me LE put that out as a call for corroboration.

MH contacts X or friend of X (foX) when ejected from the arena in the middle of Lamb’s set because X or foX may be able to help her sitch. He is not able to (the whole voided-ticket thing). But he tells her it’s “all good, come to the back lot with us to ___, and I/(or so and so) can give you a ride home home/to JMU.” (conjecture)
MH feels better, tells SS she’s “getting ride home,” meets with 4 black-clad young men (security-related?), they walk toward RV lot, are seen by witness on Massie pulling into JPJ who recalls them laughing/goofing around, then sees them all again in RV lot around vehicle about 9:15 (all per timeline/said witness reportedly interviewed five times by LE); by 9:20, MH has been duly freaked or reminded why she should stay the hell away from supposedly-moved-on exBF (unsure whether 3 dudes retreated from lot quickly, leaving them alone, or MH high-tailed it away from all of them); she approached BB players for security and to (possibly) ask for a ride, they decline; as they drive away, she shimmies up to the bridge, going with her “flight” gut and sticking out her thumb in the hopes of someone stopping and taking her somewhere she knows is safe (or simply the F away from there), no one stops; she loops left onto Ivy, with UHall on right, and X catches up with her demanding to know (speculation) who she was texting (up ’til 9:20), grabs for the phone; Granny sees scuffle in which phone breaks apart (bye bye, battery)/MH hits X with purse and it falls on ground to be left behind as she walks away; then X runs back to her, per Grans. Then, dear B, we’re back to your theory – that, in tragic style, she gave into his manipulative sincerity and the two got in his car or walked his way.
The reason it’s worth pondering the How is because it shines light on the Who. And there are three Whos in my scenario unaccounted for.

It is my understanding the last phone activity, which is texts, not a live call, is at 9:20PM.
Phone is powered off, by whatever means, at 9:30 PM. The hour of “power” if you will, is 9:20-9:30

after reading through everything, and reading through all of your reponses to people, i defintely think this person has some knowledge of security/police background. that’s why im so confused because I think there is too much smoke around this “DW” person to completely rule him out as a POI, however, if he wasnt an ex-bf of morgan in any capacity, could he be friends with someone who was? maybe someone who was his co worker that he could have gone to concerts with?
i also picked up on previous comments about whether or not this potential Ex-BF played a different college sport than UVA BBALL…maybe a different sport at a different university? i’m not sure.

I’ve been trolling Facebook and have been looking at one particular person. I can’t access their profile because I’m not “friends” with him. I’m wondering if he could be the POI? I don’t want to give too much info. in case it’s not our guy, but several things jumped out from the very little I could actually see. First, his profile picture is the black square with blue horizontal line through it. I’m not LE in any way but understand this to be a police or LE symbol. [For me this corroborates the theory that POI is linked to LE] This person has 316 friends on FB but only 5 are male..the rest are female and there are a lot of very attractive girls and a lot of blondes. I thought this was very unbalanced. [For me this indicates that he might be physically attractive and/or smooth with the ladies, as well as needing constant attention from women] Listed among his friends are several “famous” singers… all female and all young. [To me this indicates his "in" with musicians and bands but also suggests to me an unbalanced person in that all of these performers are young and probably not as guarded as they should be around an older and perhaps BG]. This same person indicates in posts on the Find Morgan Facebook page that he (a) has family on the UVA police dept. (b) is from Roanoke and (c) lives 3 miles from VT right now. [These offer various connections to MH]. This guy posted frequently on the page things that I thought were slightly off. He jumped on every single thing that could explain her disappearance and ran with it…amnesia, her friends being bad friends for letting her go to the br alone, the basketball players, etc. [Makes me think he wants people to buy into any explanation that seems plausible that won't lead back to him] He also repeatedly writes about how he wants to be friends with her when she is found [really odd imho].
Is this someone that you’re looking at with interest…or am I way off?

Was this supposed POI that works security working for JPJ that night? If so, was it possible for him to take morgan away somewhere or sedate her and stash her, and return to finish his shift without anyone knowing or noticing him gone?

Just to support that Dee S. was wearing short boots INSIDE the arena during Metallica, here is the best, clear video to date I have seen showing Dee in her outfit, bare legs with short boots, and her male friends with the black short sleeved t-shirts with white cuffs. It is with arena lights on, end of the concert, where the black balloons have been thrown out by Metallica.
Watching the area at the bottom of the center line of twisted black cables hanging down on the screen, you will see Dee immediately emerge left from the black cable line with a big black balloon in her arms and turn to go back. The footage shows Dee and friends’ movements back and forth until they finally proceed to leave the area, watched by what looks to be a uniformed LE or security standing right there to the left of them.

I’ve been watching Morgan’s fb page for a while. Her number of friends fluctuates between 675 and 677. In the very beginning it was 677. I guess if people delete their pages, then someone who was showing them as a friend would be minus a friend, but…and now I’ll get to the point…there is one friend who suddenly appeared when the number went up (which I thought was odd but figured maybe someone unprivated (that’s a word, right?) their account) and then when the number went back down, I checked and she was still there. Today it went back down to 675 and that friend is gone. She is a VT student, active in a fraternity/little sister? type organization and attended a Catholic school in Maryland. It seems you have connections and I wondered if you could check it out. I may have pm’d you on fb about this. I can’t remember. I don’t want to give her name publicly, just in case it’s totally coincidental, but if you could look in to it, I’m LisaPlummer on facebook. Thanks,by the way, for your comment to Franktoria. It’s easy to think of this person as an elderly granny, but consider that she could easily be much younger (50ish, which I now consider to be the new 30ish) and therefore, less afraid to get out of the car and speak up.
She sat in that interview with her grands Metallica tickets in her hand. She meant business.
She really only noticed Morgan, because in my estimation, her spidey senses kicked in and she knew she was a young woman in distress. For me the big earring was key. You will not find Morgan with Big earrings in any photo I have seen, but that necklace was chunky and distinct, it flashed in the light to Granny. She goes towards the arena, he toward the street, and then turns back.
My take: She tries to get back in, he waits in the wings?

While my eyesight might be bad relative to YouTube, I’d like to weigh in re: LE asking if anyone lent MH a phone that night.
If anyone received a text or call from MH that wasn’t from her phone, LE would easily be able to retrieve records of the call/text (whether deleted or not, the record of the text will still exist). If the phone of origin was untraceable, two things:
1) Chances are its owner will not come forward
and
2) If they did have this knowledge, they would have at the very least a phone number and provider to work with. If the phone’s owner was a POI, then they could track that phone’s use and find the owner that way. If the phone in question ceases all activity, a flag goes up and you have something more. Either way, not likely someone will be forthcoming to LE.
My own thoughts on why LE asked that question would be to corroborate whether or not the missing battery is relevant (my understanding is LE viewed this of little relevance). If she simply lost her battery, but still had control of her own movement, she would most likely be trying to borrow a phone from someone, agreed?
It’s moot. To me it’s obvious the phone’s battery was removed to cease its activity. If the popular theory of late around here holds water, then the battery was likely removed to stop MH from talking with her friends for good. The purse was then likely lost in the shuffle. The battery was probably tossed wherever it was removed. Find the battery, you find the crime scene. My 2 cents.
I would be in complete agreement with you if we could account for the battery cover.

Another thing is the BB players…here’s my take on that.
Suppose, she went to the big tall (assuming, not steretyping) black guys for help.
Has anyone else following the news lately seen all the false rape claims involving college & pro athletes? If I’m any one of these guys and I value my future, if she seems the slightest bit “off”, or intoxicated, she is my worst enemy and I am out of there like a shot. I wouldn’t believe her story for a minute, if she had one. No matter what took place during that interaction, IMHO, they were anxious to get away from her. It’s probably why their contact has been downplayed, they didn’t offer much to go on, and probably didn’t come forward out of guilt.

Well I’ve searched high and low to try to figure out why The Hook said the grandmother’s story had been debunked, but nothing so far. That Hook story was on Oct 29, so that ought to narrow it a bit. I did look at the NBC29 story that got so widely repeated (the one with “This story is chilling” in it), and it had a Nov 6 update, but that update didn’t say “and oh by the way, this story was debunked”—so I wonder where The Hook got that from. Anyone have any luck finding why or whether it was debunked?
Okay — I didn’t realize ex-bf worked security — this all makes sense to me now — big time —
I think Morgan was excited about Metallica — I think at some point near to the concert, ex contacts Morgan and says: listen, bygones be bygones, I know you like the group, I can get you back stage, or get you to meet them, etc. — it’s why Morgan is particular about the clothes she’s going to wear — and — her wearing that necklace — that necklace has A) too much sentimental value and B) is too nice just to wear to a concert — my son and his friend were also contemplating their clothes to wear — but it was down to which Metallica T-shirt they were going to wear — Morgan was dressing up for Metallica, and maybe being a bit rebellious (in a good way) by wearing the Pantera t-shirt — and she told her friends she was going to meet them and ex was going to get her back stage —
hence, the lock down on the friends making statements — and even perhaps the “leak” to the media that Granny’s statement is debunked — they want ex to think he’s gotten away with this for exactly the reason B stated — they need him to take them to Morgan —
And this answers my ever-present question of: why did LE think there was no foul play involved at the beginning of this case ?? Because Friends told them Morgan was with Ex — who, when questioned, denied all ….
I’m watching 11 PM news — their lead story is the speed thing on 64 — click on your cruise control !

If Morgan has crossed over to that land of Eternal Peace, and I think she has, her life was absolutely not in vain —

BG and MH are in the parking lot, talking/arguing/whatever. MH is also texting friends inside. BG at some point removes battery from phone, but, replaces cover. MH tries to use phone, phone no good. Hostile takeover hasn’t occurred yet. A theory. Wherever they are in lot, BG tosses battery? Maybe check the sewers or trash cans near where grenny witnesses strife. The battery is long gone by now if it went to a trash can but IF they can find it it might have forensic evidence.

counselor4u, yes, you can dial in from any phone to get your cell phone voice mail. She could have done that (I reckon LE would know when her VM was last accessed).
If she texted someone from a borrowed phone, she’d have to know their phone number to do so (seriously, do people still memorize phone numbers now that phones are smart enough to remember for you?) AND she would have to identify herself to the recipient as Morgan, if calling from a weird number. So it could be the case that that happened, and they want to know if some innocent non-POI loaned her the phone, or if it was a phone that belonged to the BG?

He had been messaging Morgan all evening, I’m thinking that was him in all the text messaging, so how would they know the difference except that a text message was SENT from his phone, but who would have been sending it, if Morgan was using it or him?
OR, at that point if a text went out from his phone, because she was using it, what would that text have said? If I had someone that I really didn’t care to see, and he and I had just been arguing I’d want someone to know that….(this is where my brain ceases to funtion, because we don’t know who the party on the other end was of that text.)

You previously mentioned that you thought the BG may be a hunter and have a cabin relative to where he may have hidden M.
Does the BG have 4W drive? Have the areas around certain hiker shelters been checked by LE. There appear to be 4W drive roads from Blue Ridge Parkway down to at least one shelter….If I am reading the map accurately.

Confession: In the beginning Dr. and Mrs. Harrington were my #1 suspects. I kept that thought to myself as I initially began reading through these and other threads, out of respect for the family in case they had nothing to do with it. Of course, now that time has passed and I have gained access to more information, hypotheses and rumors, along with my own digging, I think they have absolutely nothing to do with this and deserve answers and justice for the disappearance of their beautiful daughter.
However, initially, the things that bothered me and made me suspicious of them:
1. She gets locked out of a concert w/ cell phone and doesn’t call them. Even if I had taken drugs or had a few drinks I would, at age 20, have called my parents and faced the music before hitchhiking. Hitchhiking is not even a viable option these days. See, I thought she must have called her parents and one or both was lying about picking her up. I know most people are killed by someone they know and the whole scenario I was reading from the police sounded crazy to me, drugs or no.
2. Her parents had her passwords. Initially this sent my creep-o-meter through the roof. I remember going round after round with people on websites about this point. Maybe there are families who ARE that close, but I am 100% certain this is NOT the norm with kids in their early 20s. College is a time when most are sexually active, experimenting with drinking, drugs, being independent, etc. When I was in that age bracket I wouldn’t have wanted my parents anywhere near my private messaging/email.
Now that I am on board with the XBF theory, my past red flags make a lot more sense. For the first, if she was with a forbidden XBF of course she wouldn’t call her parents to come get her. And for the second, I now suspect if she wanted to keep going to school on her parent’s dime, she had to sacrifice some areas of privacy so they could be certain they weren’t being deceived. They must have really thought this guy was bad news.

I am only have way thru this blog page. Your claims as to what the Harringtons knew and when they found out does not ring true. You claim the friends were cut off from the Harringtons early on?
Why did the friends bend over backwards to thank the Harringtons for their support?
I think the Harringtons are the ones behind the 8 ball and LE is simply letting them run the [side] show.
It is hard to take a missing person’s report seriously when the family won’t report the truth. Carry on.
