Orlando, FL– On the eve of the one year anniversary of the recovery of 34 month old Caylee Marie Anthonys remains; the defense team representing the woman charged with her murder is preparing for one of the most difficult court appearances to date.

Tomorrow, one year ago, Caylee was found while her grandparents and Team Casey dined on crab puffs and lounged pool side at the Ritz.

Ritzbaezcheck2-small4Among the Ritz Carlton guests, courtesy of ABC, was the Anthony Family Private Investigator, Dominic Casey.

Mr. Casey is attempting to don the “Privilege Parka” and avoid an upcoming deposition scheduled for December 16 and of course subsequent testimony at trial. The State has issued subpoenas to both George and Cindy Anthony for tomorrow’s hearing. They are looking to sit in front of the bar.

Might be advisable given the circumstances. I suggest a single malt of humility with a dignity chaser.

By his own account, George Anthony has not seen or spoken to Dominic Casey since February 10, 2009.

It is not known if perhaps Baez never took the time to explain to Mr. Casey  the definition of “privilege”.

It is not thatAnthonysCourt51909 he would get the “privilege” of schtupping his Clients wife while their baby granddaughter was missing and later found murdered in the area his Client*slash*PillowPal sent him to search a month earlier.

O yeah, I went there.

If he is stupid enough through his attorney Diana Tennis to continue the privilege party line I predict Ms. Drane Burdick will be well prepared to demonstrate her skills in verbal guillotine simply by using Dom’s own words. I am not a huge Dr. Phil fan I admit, but there is a quote from him I feel resonates for Cindy Anthony specifically:

If he will do it with ya, he will do it to ya. 100%

Cindy, when you read this, you know I come from a place of knowledge and there are some doors even you do not want opened.

Mountainous Motionous Interruptus

To Deluge is to Delude? That is the Question.

Baez_casey_lyonIt is unclear if Ms. Lyon and the Baez jesters get paid by the word in their motions, or if they own stock in the local optometrist.

What is clear, is they have an endless supply of ink for the laser jet.

Could that be because they have not put out the benjamens for the bevy of experts we were expecting from the hearing about who is funding this shindig?

Even the dubious Dr. Lee is on record saying he does not get out of bed until the next check. *snark alert*

How do you ask for a year to prepare for a trial and not list a single expert as a witness, or lob a smidge of discovery back over the net?

Is February 1st the BIG BAEZ REVEAL? ( Insert laugh track)

Yesterday, Prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick returned fire, exposing what appears to be some seriously shoddy defense tactics to open up the files of the almost 4000 Texas Equusearch Volunteers in response to the mountains of motions filed by the defense the day before Thanksgiving.

“Dialing for Disgruntled”

It is not surprising or original to learn that Andrea Lyon and Jose Baez et al have spent weeks calling through TES search rosters to find anyone that would talk to them voluntarily. Many have. Baez and team apparently thought they hit pay-dirt with Joe Jordan and Laura Buchanan.

Joe Jordan was a volunteer on the first search in Orlando for Caylee Anthony. He also broke his agreement with TES by posting Youtube videos of the search and blogging about locations and findings. It was a serious no no and when he was outed, he began his campaign to speak negatively about Tim Miller and TES.

In the defense’s motion to modify access to TES records,  Mr. Jordan claims to have kept very detailed records of his search efforts, when his team of 5–6 members were searching the alleged “exact area” where Caylee was ultimately found. For me, when someone uses the word detailed, I make the assumption that entails having more than one name of the other 5 people:

..”Among the five people with me were Danny Ibison and his dog, and a Panama City Deputy with one of his two dogs…”

Within the search form Jordan alleges he provided to TES, it would REQUIRE the names and ID’s of the individuals searching that area.

Could it be that Ibison and the others would not support Jordan’s statement because the area, exact area, where Caylee’s remains were found, was underwater on September 1st?

Speaking on the condition of anonymity exclusively to blinkoncrime.com, a source within OCSO confirms just that. Ibison maintains the site was underwater, the as- yet-unamed- publicly “deputy” will confirm there were meetings within TES to come up with a solution to use some sort of aquatic equipment to search the submerged area, but it was considered too dangerous and too small for a boat.

What motive would Mr. Jordan have to (un-surreptitiously to him) record his interview with Morty?

Joe JordanJJ records the audio for a spell and then gets around to calling Det. Edwards at OCSO to ostensibly get a high five.

That high five was nearly a low five behind his back from the state for a 3rd degree wiretapping felony.

Wait for it….. AND he is “materially” changing his story after apparently being schooled about what happens when you are prepared to lie in court, regardless of your agenda.

There is no “I” in perjury. Look out Baez, someone is out of there FUGUE state in time for tomorrow.

If I were a betting gal, I would say that Lyon will not lead with asking Ms. Drane Burdick where she picked out her suit or what she has in her nightstand drawer.

However, I do believe that an excerpt or 3 from Andea Lyon’s stand up impersonation of Lisa Lampanelli may end up on the record.

All that aside, I am humbled by tomorrow’s anniversary I thought I would never see. I will never forget the call in which both joy and anguish filled my throat.  “We got her, it’s her.”

To the FBI, FDLE, FBI CSI, OCSO CSI, SS and OCSO, 9th Circuit Medical Examiners Office, Dr. G and SH– You know who you are– From the bottom of my heart I thank you for the commitment you showed this child.

You are her sweet voice now, backed by your collective baritone.

I am hopeful for an anti-crescendo or dimiuendo, directed to the finale.

If that does not work, then we scrap. End is the Same. Justifies the Means.

    Hi Blink!

Just wanted to respond to your comment about it not being manufactured since 2007 (the duct tape that is). Actually, I didn’t miss it. I would assume that OUC would buy in bulk, so I would see no issue with the tape still being in inventory into 2008.

And I agree very much with you, that it doesn’t matter if it was at OUC warehouse or not, he had it…in multiple places!

    Keep up the good work!
    Valhall.

True Valhall. Very Possible. An additional consideration has to be that George also worked for Fox Security previously, and it can be assumed in that tenure he worked several venues where “the tape” may have not only been used, but left behind by staff setting up for events as an example.

What is driving me nuts, is that nobody picked up on the OUC Connection. There was not enough in the fact checking to make the leap or I would have covered it…

This is cut from his blog and is point on IMO.
Maternal Filicide – The Profile of Mothers Who Kill Their Children

A general profile of mothers most at risk of committing filicide has developed. Typically, the mother is young, around 21 years of age. She is single and has had multiple unstable relationships with men. Either she is mentally deficient or an apparently normal young woman, forced to put off high school graduation, college, or career because of pregnancy. She is unemployed and has financial difficulties. She may have suffered from serious mental illness in the past, or only manifested undiagnosed personality changes after the birth of her child. Roughly, one fifth of these mothers have been victims of physical or sexual abuse.

I think this is one of the main reasons why the defense wants all videos stopped and destroyed. They are going to point to this poor Casey defense that some one abused her early on, someone is set up for the fall , they must be able to get the story straight. Remember in Lyons argument she alluded to this by saying they need to talk about embarrassing er….potentially embarrassing things with Casey, and all that may or may not entail.

  9. Kleat says:

    Thanks, ada.

I took a quick look, scanned down the page to the comments about filicide and that’s enough for now, for sure. But Lenamon uses a movie, Meryl Streep in Sophie’s Choice as an example of ‘filicide’. That is a strange example, given that this, and worse, as the situation of Sophie’s children, happened to 6 million people a few short decades ago.

I can’t accept that Sophie’s Choice was filicide, her ‘choice’ was not a choice to kill her child, it was a choice to save one of her children, the one with the advantages that might survive the horrors. There was no ‘choice’, Mr. Lenamon, there could be no ‘charges’ against a ‘Sophie’ for making a choice, where one child would die, or both children would die if she did not make a choice to ‘save’ one of them.

That’s enough of Mr. Lenamon’s serious discussion, I’m not sure I want that much education at the moment, there are times for this, and times for the Will Farrell’s and the wonderful lyrics and stories of Dr. Suess. And tomorrow morning’s little TV event should provide, if not a chuckle, a distraction of some bewilderment once again, as the ‘defense’ does it’s thing in the media. That seems the only role of these parents– too bad they can’t just be good parents and have done what is right, not to encourage their daughter down this path that will not end well.

Momof3, yeah, I suspect that the jail video of December 11 last year, was described quite clinically, but I wonder if the sight of the ‘rage’ was ever apparent for any length of time, the same emotion we saw briefly on Friday as anger towards Mr. Ashton and his words, and the same anger we saw on the August 14th video, as Casey’s firey rage towards her mother.

I suspect whatever is on the jail video of Casey learning that her daughter was found, it was clearly a telling reaction that could well have included that seething rage being held in check until there was a change of chat topic to football.

I’m remembering that Judge Strickland saw that video and if the interpretation was easy for him, he could have a good idea of guilt or innocence from Ms. Casey herself.

Good points all (as per usual). Note that George’s time sheets showing his work at OUC change. For the pay period ending “03/21/08″ he is in training (Note to the right of the timesheets he is getting “TRW” pay – “Training Regular Wages”.) But then when we get to 06/20/08 he is working Pershing SMC. (I don’t know if this is a typo or what. The organization with OUC that handles all logistics/materials is SCM (Supply Chain Management), so this is either a typo or they refer to the warehouse as Supply Management Center…not sure which.)

Just wanted to add how much I appreciate this particular article you wrote. You made me get the lumpy-bumpy in my throat. While it is a sad testament to something that was terribly wrong in Caylee’s life that since her death the people who are fighting for her now aren’t the ones that actually knew her when she was alive…at least those people are fighting hard to make sure “what was wrong” gets addressed.

Thank you Valhall, I, like you, and others on here, are about ready to have the “lumpy bumpy” go away. Poor Baby Caylee.

Brad Conway, ” there is a murder case in Fla where the judge blocked release of jail video tape”.

Does anyone know what case he is speaking of and if there was a gag order, in general, vs the judge only blocking release of jail tapes?

“It’s hard to go in there, but I do go in there”, Cindy Anthony stated about Caylee’s room on the “Today Show”.

Not to be picayune, I know the Anthony’s suffered a horrible loss, but
I thought that she let the little girl who she babysits for play in there routinely, at least that was what you were led to believe on “48 Hours Mystery”.

I have no strong feelings about the tapes being released, one way or another, provided that the state continues to receive copies and that they are not destroyed. However, I don’t see how the judge could block release of portions of the case, but permit the ongoing media events orchestrated by the defense and the Anthonys who will, if granted, no doubt, give interpretations of their visits with Casey that will be carefully slanted to only describe a very sympathetic Casey. Anyone?

Whatever happened to the opinion previously stated by Brad Conway and Andrea Lyon that they thought it would be okay for the Anthonys to visit Casey in jail,( before writing motions to block jail tape release)? They must have all concluded that one or all, do not have the capacity to conceal true emotions when the taping isn’t carefully scripted, like the softball interviews that they set up on TV.

Nice to see Valhall. I like the Hinkymeter site very much.

I have not seen the interview from “Today”. I never, ever watch them live. It’s my thing.

I didn’t watch it live either, I watched in online. There was nothing that I didn’t expect or haven’t heard before. I sincerely wouldn’t expect them to admit that Casey might be guilty, it would harm Casey’s trial, and death is in the mix. I can’t condemn them for that. It is truly annoying , however, when they continue the mantra of ” there wasn’t enough investigation”, as if the police were the ones behaving in a sinister manner. (Especially, when we all know about Lee’s little foray into investigations, and the Anthonys thrust to dig up dirt on others). It’s ironic that they call out police for “tunnel vision”.

as to the jail visits, the defense doesn’t want them. They know that Casey (or the Anthonys) can not maintain any appropriate appearance in regard to the circumstances. Simple as that. How hard is it to tell someone that you love and miss them? Cindy said that she didn’t discuss Caylee with Casey the entire time she was out on bail. She doesn’t have to discuss the case in jail visits.

    Very Good Point.

  29. Teri says:

Yes…I don’t understand C and G not visiting their daughter, either. They say they are concerned about the public picking about their every action, should they go to visit her.

All I know is that: If this were my child in jail, and I really believed she was innocent? I’d be there every chance I could. Not to discuss the case, per say…but just to be there for my daughter. I wouldn’t CARE what the public/media thought. If my intentions were pure and all I wanted was to show love and support for my daughter? I’d have no reason to hide that.

The fact they DON’T go visit her? That speaks much louder than any visit they could ever have.

NO ONE would fault a parent for going to see their child in jail. Even if they never spoke a word between them…the fact that they could just SEE each other could be enough.

    Their absence speaks volumes.

    Understood :)

I haven’t had the stomach to watch the A’s on the Today show. I cut out soap operas from my tv diet for a reason. I’m not even remotely curious. I see it was the same ole thing anyways. I just don’t get why they’re being asked to keep coming back. Today must have known what the A’s would have to say would be practically verbatim. It’s all rehearsed with C&A anyways. Cindy does the talking. George looks at Cindy for permission to speak….blah blah blah. Unless there’s someone willing to corner them and ask the grilling questions that would throw them off their script, it’s just coddling. I would gladly watch them being put on the spot on national tv, even if the A’s are benefitting financially. I would LOVE to see those 2 squirm and answer for their double standards.

  32. Teri says:

And, another thing that is just startling to me is the difference in George’s demeanor and information that be provides now – versus his earliest interviews.

He basically admits that he KNOWS his daughter did something bad, and KNOWS she is going away for a long time.

And, now? He, pretty much, states the exact opposite.

His brain has either entered a complete state of denial – or he’s being told he MUST believe in his daughters innocence. Of course, ALL the lying and two-faced answers could be avoided if they were to stay out of the media. Stay home, and mourn the loss of your granddaugther, and hard as it may be – accept that something went terribly wrong with Casey – and in a moment of anger – she ended Caylee’s life.

In the dark, stillness of the night—-I have to believe they do know the reality of the situation. I just have to believe that….

Vieira asked if the couple could accept that Casey was behind Caylee’s death. Cindy said she didn’t believe a full investigation had been done and that nothing ties their daughter to Caylee’s death.

MV did not ask her opinion of the investigation that was conducted or whether she felt her personal preponderance of the evidence held a valid place in the minds of the viewers. What she asked was if the trial could possibly change her opinion on Casey’s guilt, once all the evidence sees the light of day.

They may as well have sat there and had MV ask “What is today?” and have Cindy answer “I like piles of dollars.”

Does anyone have an idea how much money they are payed for these interviews, beyond travel, lodging, and per diem? Not for Licensing fees either. Just for the interview.

They are not paid for the interview. Fifty-hundred ways around that though.

Again they have a golden opportunity to make it about Caylee and they made it about Casey. That to me is the worst move they can make- still this far in it, it should be about Caylee. That was enough for me. They are so concerned with Casey being picked apart and they are partly to blame because of comments like that.

Someone over at the Sentinel blog made a good point…

The A’s stormed out of the courtroom during Ashton’s description of Caylee’s murder, but they sat perfectly composed on the couch at the Today Show while they watched Ashton make those same remarks on videotape. A free trip to NY sure helps one deal with one’s problems.

  37. Word Girl says:

If Cindy didn’t discuss Caylee with Casey the entire time she was out on bail, what ever did they talk about then? Chili recipes? omfg!

  38. Thinker says:

Atty Hornsby’s comments on the video case Conway mentioned:

“I think he was referring to the Byrd and Melanie Billings case (Newsweek Article Link) in the panhandle.

In that case the judge would not allow the release of the of the Billings surveillance camera; I believe this is because it showed the actual murder. However, he did let the media view the video at the State Attorney’s Office and report on what they saw – just not replay it.

With that said, it is like comparing apples (jail visits) with oranges (video of a murder).

Regardless, I have no sympathy for the Anthonys. Everyone seems to have overlooked one simple fact – they are free to visit her whenever they want, they choose not to.

Finally, I would point out that Judge Strickland did seal the video of Casey’s reaction. So I think the cases are being treated similarly.”

  39. Thinker says:

Judge Stricklands words on the hyperventilating reaction video of KC in the jail being sealed:
    7-1-09
“Being duly advised in the premises, the defendant’s Motion to Seal the Jail Videotape in question is granted. In taking this unusual step the Court has read and considered the pleadings of all parties, and personally viewed the videotape in question.

While the Court is loathe to shield any public record, an argument can certainly be made that the contents of the video are highly inflammatory.”

“Given the nature and scope of the pretrial publicity, it is not unreasonable to assume that many persons in the potential jury pool might view this video and develop a “hardened” attitude in reference to the defendant’s guilt.”

Looks like Dominic was able to once again….delay, delay, delay.

    Nope. SO far it’s “on”.

Their play on words is amazing to me:

The couple said they still believed in their daughter. There is a big difference between “believing in someone” vs “believing someone”. I “believe in my ex”, that is to say I believe he is a good person. But I darn sure don’t “believe him”. That may be a poor example. Maybe someone else can clarify my point better

Vieira asked if the couple could accept that Casey was behind Caylee’s death. Cindy said she didn’t believe a full investigation had been done and that nothing ties their daughter to Caylee’s death.

Well once again the question was not answered, go figure! It is either a yes I believe it, no I don’t believe it or I don’t want to believe it. Her answer tell all.

  42. ChicagoJudy says:

One of the most outrageous Cindy statements this morning… The only thing that Casey did wrong was not report her daughter missing for 31 days.

That has to be one of the stupidest comments ever made.

I think I am going to need a nooner. For Real, OMG.
In an scenario she can conjur, how is that ever a statement of a bereaved Gram.

i am going to ask this hear i heard on an orlandosentinel blog that dominic casey’s depostion for tommorrow was cancelled is this true?

  44. Alegna says:

Is this DC’s depo? Blink do you know why its been cancelled?

    Filed under the murder case:

    12/14/2009 Notice of Cancellation
Cancellation of Deposition prev scheduled for 12/16/09 @1:30pm

That could simply be a formality of the actual deposition classification.
It is technically no longer a deposition, but an Investigative subpoena.

  45. Randie says:

I wondered how “things” might change. Seeing that papers had to be filed under “investigative subpoena”. I was guessing if that subpoena had to be served so inturn a new date.

My question: Is Baez allowed to be present????

Nope, order sealed the date for tomorrow. Unless he certifies (Baez) Dom as a witness, which imo, he would be crazy to do, and then it reverts back to a deposition, he would be allowed to attend. If it stands as an Investigative Interview, unless Burdick invites him, he will have to hold the glass up to the door while standing on a stepladder.

I don’t believe ‘stalking’ is the right word. Marinade Dave encourages her to blog on his site among other things, and seems very protective of her. Not that I am defending Joy Wray, but allowing that there are others who are encouraging her behavior. :-)

This is part & parcel or a page out of Andrea Lyons “Death Penalty Cases for Dummies ” handbook. HUMANIZE the defendant. The Anthonys goal was to attempt to establish some kind of genuine human emotion emanating from their daughter, a mother whose daughter was murdered. However, if anyone watched the proceedings, Casey’s emotional episode was as convincing as Susan Smith’s tearless ‘crying jag’, in my opinion.

Where their efforts really fall short is the fact that Ashton’s passionate speech was played before their segment, and was more powerful than anything that they had to say. So in that way, they are counterproductive. If they hadn’t gone on the Today Show, a national audience wouldn’t have heard an excerpt of the prosecution’s very strong emotional and disturbing argument. Why go on to keep subjecting themselves to all of this?

  48. westsidehudson says:

“They may as well have sat there and had MV ask “What is today?” and have Cindy answer “I like piles of dollars.”

RR, you are hilarious, seriously, I was snorting after that comment.

lol, right? I cant tell you how many times I have had to shut my office door late night lest I wake the family.

The A’s want their ‘fishbowl’ with curtains and no underwater mikes, but that Friday hearing USE of the ‘on-off’ microphone switch on the defense table, was ludicrous. On-off–oops, she we want to say something not on the record– ok– ready– ‘ON’– whisper your lines darlin’– oh– Ashton is going hardball– new lines– say ‘this’– ready again??– ready?? I’m switching this ‘ON’–
Casey says ‘Make him stop’– ‘I Can’t’ — ‘OFF’– good darlin’– now next line, remember… going to switch it on again now, see?– ‘ON’– oops… ‘OFF’…. ‘

Good, we got the lines for the Today Show now… and some good tear footage, nice hanky ready– notice not a box of Kleenex, but a pressed and folded, formal cotton handkerchief at the ready.

Buzz Baez…. he has to practice is audio switch timing, it was SO obvious when the mike was open and when it was closed.

  50. ChicagoJudy says:

    Post from the Sentinel site…

Conway was just on trutv, he says Ashton was over the top in his comments and that he (Conway)didn’t know about the three pieces of tape. Please!

I’m going to trutv now to see if this could possibly be true. I’m really going to blow a gasket if any of the A team starts saying that the state is being too descriptive. If they do, I would hope that Judge STrickland would put a stop to it immediately. My God, they’re describing a murdered baby for crying out loud. It’s not very pretty. Get used to it.
