Orlando, FL– On the eve of the one year anniversary of the recovery of 34 month old Caylee Marie Anthonys remains; the defense team representing the woman charged with her murder is preparing for one of the most difficult court appearances to date.

Tomorrow, one year ago, Caylee was found while her grandparents and Team Casey dined on crab puffs and lounged pool side at the Ritz.

Ritzbaezcheck2-small4Among the Ritz Carlton guests, courtesy of ABC, was the Anthony Family Private Investigator, Dominic Casey.

Mr. Casey is attempting to don the “Privilege Parka” and avoid an upcoming deposition scheduled for December 16 and of course subsequent testimony at trial. The State has issued subpoenas to both George and Cindy Anthony for tomorrow’s hearing. They are looking to sit in front of the bar.

Might be advisable given the circumstances. I suggest a single malt of humility with a dignity chaser.

By his own account, George Anthony has not seen or spoken to Dominic Casey since February 10, 2009.

It is not known if perhaps Baez never took the time to explain to Mr. Casey  the definition of “privilege”.

It is not thatAnthonysCourt51909 he would get the “privilege” of schtupping his Clients wife while their baby granddaughter was missing and later found murdered in the area his Client*slash*PillowPal sent him to search a month earlier.

O yeah, I went there.

If he is stupid enough through his attorney Diana Tennis to continue the privilege party line I predict Ms. Drane Burdick will be well prepared to demonstrate her skills in verbal guillotine simply by using Dom’s own words. I am not a huge Dr. Phil fan I admit, but there is a quote from him I feel resonates for Cindy Anthony specifically:

If he will do it with ya, he will do it to ya. 100%

Cindy, when you read this, you know I come from a place of knowledge and there are some doors even you do not want opened.

Mountainous Motionous Interruptus

To Deluge is to Delude? That is the Question.

Baez_casey_lyonIt is unclear if Ms. Lyon and the Baez jesters get paid by the word in their motions, or if they own stock in the local optometrist.

What is clear, is they have an endless supply of ink for the laser jet.

Could that be because they have not put out the benjamens for the bevy of experts we were expecting from the hearing about who is funding this shindig?

Even the dubious Dr. Lee is on record saying he does not get out of bed until the next check. *snark alert*

How do you ask for a year to prepare for a trial and not list a single expert as a witness, or lob a smidge of discovery back over the net?

Is February 1st the BIG BAEZ REVEAL? ( Insert laugh track)

Yesterday, Prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick returned fire, exposing what appears to be some seriously shoddy defense tactics to open up the files of the almost 4000 Texas Equusearch Volunteers in response to the mountains of motions filed by the defense the day before Thanksgiving.

“Dialing for Disgruntled”

It is not surprising or original to learn that Andrea Lyon and Jose Baez et al have spent weeks calling through TES search rosters to find anyone that would talk to them voluntarily. Many have. Baez and team apparently thought they hit pay-dirt with Joe Jordan and Laura Buchanan.

Joe Jordan was a volunteer on the first search in Orlando for Caylee Anthony. He also broke his agreement with TES by posting Youtube videos of the search and blogging about locations and findings. It was a serious no no and when he was outed, he began his campaign to speak negatively about Tim Miller and TES.

In the defense’s motion to modify access to TES records,  Mr. Jordan claims to have kept very detailed records of his search efforts, when his team of 5–6 members were searching the alleged “exact area” where Caylee was ultimately found. For me, when someone uses the word detailed, I make the assumption that entails having more than one name of the other 5 people:

..”Among the five people with me were Danny Ibison and his dog, and a Panama City Deputy with one of his two dogs…”

Within the search form Jordan alleges he provided to TES, it would REQUIRE the names and ID’s of the individuals searching that area.

Could it be that Ibison and the others would not support Jordan’s statement because the area, exact area, where Caylee’s remains were found, was underwater on September 1st?

Speaking on the condition of anonymity exclusively to blinkoncrime.com, a source within OCSO confirms just that. Ibison maintains the site was underwater, the as- yet-unamed- publicly “deputy” will confirm there were meetings within TES to come up with a solution to use some sort of aquatic equipment to search the submerged area, but it was considered too dangerous and too small for a boat.

What motive would Mr. Jordan have to (un-surreptitiously to him) record his interview with Morty?

Joe JordanJJ records the audio for a spell and then gets around to calling Det. Edwards at OCSO to ostensibly get a high five.

That high five was nearly a low five behind his back from the state for a 3rd degree wiretapping felony.

Wait for it….. AND he is “materially” changing his story after apparently being schooled about what happens when you are prepared to lie in court, regardless of your agenda.

There is no “I” in perjury. Look out Baez, someone is out of there FUGUE state in time for tomorrow.

If I were a betting gal, I would say that Lyon will not lead with asking Ms. Drane Burdick where she picked out her suit or what she has in her nightstand drawer.

However, I do believe that an excerpt or 3 from Andea Lyon’s stand up impersonation of Lisa Lampanelli may end up on the record.

All that aside, I am humbled by tomorrow’s anniversary I thought I would never see. I will never forget the call in which both joy and anguish filled my throat.  “We got her, it’s her.”

To the FBI, FDLE, FBI CSI, OCSO CSI, SS and OCSO, 9th Circuit Medical Examiners Office, Dr. G and SH– You know who you are– From the bottom of my heart I thank you for the commitment you showed this child.

You are her sweet voice now, backed by your collective baritone.

I am hopeful for an anti-crescendo or dimiuendo, directed to the finale.

If that does not work, then we scrap. End is the Same. Justifies the Means.

It seems to me, that a person being used by the defense and it’s joint membership, might be the cause of the harm, knowing how to use a vulnerable person who otherwise is doing no harm to herself or others. She clearly loves her children, what she needs is for her lawyer to stop ‘other lawyers and the joint defense’ from communicating with her, feeding her the line that she is somehow a main player in what is right for Caylee. The Anthony’s are part of the joint defense, and continued communications with them, seems to be continuing the ‘use’ of this woman for the purposes of one person and one person only, under the wrongwray belief in ‘justice for Caylee’. We can hardly blame her for interest in this case but it seems she can’t understand that the police are not trying to cover up evidence, or act in a criminal way themselves based on her belief in her own ‘evidence’.

Cindy Anthony knows exactly how this woman is vulnerable, so is there some part of the Baker Act that precludes others from taking advantage and doing harm to a person such as this by blocking the continuing relationship? Seems that should be the person’s lawyer, but what does he care unless the person is being defrauded or criminally taken advantage of? The lawyer is not an advocate for the children of this person– maybe someone should be appointed. Clearly these children are well loved, but they are being exposed in a way that should not be happening. JMHO.

  6. Chica says:

Casey appeared to cry Friday as the defense tried to argue for family jail visits without cameras and for a murder case without the death penalty to get what they called more “open-minded” jurors. But, when it was about Caylee, when prosecutors surprised everyone with their theory of how Casey would have had to have somehow restrained the 3-year-old to stop her from pulling three pieces of duct tape from her nose and mouth so she could breathe, Casey’s cold, steely expression changed only after words from defense attorney Jose Baez. Even then, no tears were visible.

“Either she needs to hone her acting skills or she needs to just be herself,” Sheaffer said.

Speculation is’ (that baez) is keeping the lines of communication open possibly by letters he exchanges or emails.I have mixed feeling on that… I doubt that! mainly because he has done everything to keep the Anthonys away therefore he has full control of the situation you know isolating her but making the public think otherwise ! probably no visits much to their relief! I am sure that if they were to visit!
there would be a confrontation! (huge waste)about the money they are making and have made so far. I am sure the cruise would come up, not to forget money on her books. I said this before and I will say it again!!
I doubt there is much of the money they made going to her!
I think by now she pretty much has figured out that she isnt going anywhere any time soon or in the future. I cannot wait for the trial! because she will see her old friends and party animals live in the flesh!! no doubt among them Tony Lazarro!! living la vita bella without her.
By the way havent any of you wondered why casey is wearing the same outfit to court over and over! come on now I know her parents arent financialy embarassed!! not anymore!! thanks to caylee.
I think they know she did it and are only saving face for themselves they know they are doing her more damage!!! they do not want her back home but to say so may dry the gravy train. they know casey will never walk through that front door no more than caylee will!! behind closed doors!!! At the anthonys home!! there is no humbug!! there no time to be depressed not with all the money they have to travel and shop with. they have been releived of supporting casey and caylee.
once upon a time when casey and caylee lived there! they had to pay for everything, lots of money worries and stressors. Now all has changed theres lots of money and nobody to steal it. credit cards are safe now why they can even leave money laying around and nobody to take it!! not even the tooth ferry.

    yeah life is different now
    thanks to casey.

About Casey Anthony’s Body Language in Recent Court Appearance Looks Like the Fake Tears and Emotion of Sociopath

    December 16, 2009 -

When I looked at the video and analyzed the body language of alleged daughter killer, Casey Anthony during her latest court date, where the death penalty was being discussed, I saw phony tears with no liquid coming out of her eyes, contrived sobs and manipulation by her attorneys.

  10. Kleat says:

Chica, thanks for that link. Valhall did a piece on this, with a quote from Dr. Glass, and the addition of the blog photo ‘still’ of the ‘rage’ is finally shown!

I couldn’t believe that I actually caught that moment it happened, as I was not watching close to the screen, it was like a jolt of recognition for some reason, and although we’d seen this before, there’s something not right with what we see juxtaposed with what we are experiencing from what we are, at the moment, hearing from Mr. Ashton. As Valhall wrote, it’s like seeing a black queen of hearts. (hope this makes sense– it’s amazing that so many people independently ‘saw’ that and commented, it didn’t take replays to recognize something doesn’t fit.)

  11. Kleat says:

Blink, is it possible to add to your article, a postscript, so to speat– simply a still photo of the ‘rage’ as included in Dr. Glass’s blog? That is the cumulation of this so significant day in court. It sums up everything from the moment of Caylee’s death as a possibly represented by one of the scenarios that Mr. Ashton spoke of, to the rage of the tearless mother who stands accused.

This was Caylee’s moment, and no one can take that away from her now.

    Dearest Kleat-
Dont think me soft. In a piece dedicated to our sweetie girl on the anniversary of her recovery, I cannot bring myself to post a picture of her Mother and murderer in such a grotesque display. If it makes any sense to you, I feel protective of her; I don’t want her to know. Please don’t call me Joy, lol.
    B

  12. Kleat says:

WFTV included the clip of the ‘rage’ too– amazing how fast that ‘rage’ appeared and then disappeared as Casey changed her posture, and we did not miss it, nor will others.

    http://www.wftv.com/video/21986231/index.html

This is a good report (but for the little mis-speak at the end, where ‘week’ should be ‘month’). They include the problem of Casey’s reaction, and juxtapose it to the ‘rage’ visual from August 14, 2008 jail video. Is it possible that the impact of Friday may have shaken the defense to the core, with all of it’s motions on the table? What have they left?

  13. Kleat says:

You are right, Blink. The WFTV video is doing that, Ms. Glass, is doing that– and this was Caylee’s day, this is her article. Agreed, after I posted that, and walked off to do something, I thought about the imagery, and the hinky meter went off a little– got to admit!

Thanks for holding the line for Caylee– she did not need that image paired with her.

  14. notrial4casey says:

According to Cindy the reason that they do not visit is because everything that Casey does and says will be analyzed….
If as they say that they believe that Casey is innocent why would they need to worry?
The analysis of Casey is gonna continue and all of the Defense’s efforts to garner sympathy for an obvious sociopath is gonna continue to boomerang on them.
Baez has to know this… look back at his earliest efforts to keep her from scrutiny…. Judge S had to order Casey to court for her hearings against Baez’s wishes….. then he tried to dress her in the school marm jacket and bun hairdo outfit…
Baez knows that he can not win this case by arguing the merits…. now maybe he is learning that orchestrating emotions from Casey ain’t gonna win it either.

  15. notrial4casey says:

    Blink,
I know that you have contacts that provide valuable insight to this case and you would never betray their trust but…

Do you expect any of the Anthony’s being charged with obstruction or lying to LE throughout this investigation, after Casey’s trial or plea?
Thanks and completely understand if you do not comment on this…

I will say this, unless their actions are with malice aforethought, or end up obstructing justice, their is no real benefit for OCSO to prosecute these people. In a general way, nobody is gunning for them, with the general feeling they are suffering, and will continue to. Their lies will be exposed in court if it goes to trial.

  17. comment#197, you noticed that too about George not wearing his Caylee button in court on Friday? I guess he was having it polished for his tv appearance the next day.he really makes me sick wearing that button just to get sympathy from people. I wish he would loose it.that button is not going to get people to feel sorry for them,so he may as well put it away. also,I WANT TO KNOW WHY DOM CASEY IS BEING ALLOWED TO KEEP GETTING OUT OF HIS DEPO? IF HE WAS WORKING FOR CINDY AND GEORGE, THEN THAT SHOULDN’T BE A FACTOR IN HIM GIVING A DEPO CONCERNING CASEY. HE WAS NOT EMPLOYED BY CASEY SO HE SHOULD BE MADE TO GET ON WITH THIS DEPO.ALSO, IF CASEY IS INNOCENT,WHY ARE THEY ALL ACTING AS THOUGH THEY’VE GOT SOMETHING TO HIDE? THIS DOSEN’T MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME. THEY ARE HIDING A LOT MORE THAN WE KNOW.

    rose,

I don’t think he’s gotten out of it. As you know, the wheels of justice turn slowly. The depo was canceled . So the court has to log that. Then the state has to do paperwork for the investigative depo. And the lawyers then have to agree on a time, yadda yadda. And then who knows if Baez will file a new witness list that will include D. Casey so that he can attend. Then they would be back to scheduling a depo with the court.

  19. westsidehudson says:

Interesting and clarifies the video visits. What additional info is gathered about a juror in “advanced biographical jury info”? Is this something a juror fills out themselves, or is it a court investigation of the juror?:

Mr. Hornsby, Second time posting these questions.. thanks!
When Baez asked to approach the judge at the end of the hearing… they all kept looking back at the cameras. It appeared Judge Strickland waved Baez off on whatever they were talking about, then he stated “I’ll talk to the powers that be about that.”
Question #1 — In your opinion what is Baez bitching about now?
Baez at the end of the hearing, was facing Mrs. Drane and stated “that was unnecessary.”
Question #2 — With that being said what (in your opinion) in the heck was he talking about when he stated “that was unnecessary?”
Question #3 (new) Mr. Hornsby.. Now that Strickland DENIED the motion to destroy the existing tapes.. what are the chances of him giving the family private meetings with Casey?
    Thanks! Sheri

1. Getting advanced biographical jury information; by statute an attorney is technically entitled to it – but in practice, it is rarely done.
2. He was likely talking about Ashton’s graphic hypothetical.
3. No chance – nor was there ever one.

I actually disagree on that one, I think it was about Andrea Lyon’s quote that Jeff Ashton used about her thoughts on jurors. Now he has to tell his Client it could affect her case.

My feeling has been that Casey will not plea out her case but see it to trial. Once the trial is over I believe that Casey will attempt to get a mistrial stating Baez’s (ahem) inappropriate familiarity with her.
A thought that has been bothering me is, if she does plea out, confess and then sentenced, could she also state that Baez was inappropriate with her and what if anything could she gain by doing that.

I want to say something about JWW but can’t quite get my mind around it. I have dealt with mental illness(not mine yet) my whole life. I have never been Baker Acted in Florida(nor anywhere else) but have been close twice. I was close to losing it at one time and had about 6 cops in my house who thought I might actually kill someone(with good reason-it was about child molestation). They talked me down but DID NOT BAKER ACT ME. What the F did JWW do SIX times to get Baker Acted? I’d really like to know the facts.

My thoughts for now are the Anthony’s are dealing with someone they have no idea what that person is capable of. Good luck. She may be their big downfall. I predict a HUGE confrontation between them.

  35. lily says:

Regarding Dee Spolarics – it was actually a little humor by suz upthread. All of the talk about who is this blonde and who is that blonde in video that we’ve been discussing on the Morgan threads. IMO it was pretty funny and an innocent attempt to lighten things up.

  36. Kleat says:

and adding to that, Blink’s comment to WSH in 769, that Baez has to tell his client that this problem (Ms. Lyon’s comments) could affect Casey’s case.

But, question to Blink, notice how there’s one reporter in that scrum, that seems to be a bit on-side with Baez, not a major media person, no camera, no big microphone, just a small recorder in hand– the woman who was wearing a long green scarf, black coat and white top, shoulder length brown hair. She, or maybe it’s someone else behind her, interrupted/changed the subject from Belich’s question about Ms. Lyon’s comments re: attitude towards jurors as killers, remarks on female prosecutors, judges, giving Mr. Baez to talk about Mr. Schaeffer and how he hoped he was not to blame for this etc etc…. as Ms. Belich still tried to reassert her question about the same, Baez kept talking about Schaeffer.

It was like a set-up question. To another question that Belich asked, this woman in green scarf, rolled her eyes.

Who is this reporter? Was the question that led to the Schaeffer blame topic, a set-up?

Was Schaeffer led into a little trap by WFTV releasing the audios?

I do not know her, but there are several area reporters down there that are freelance and possibly web only.

Casey Anthony’s tears in court on Friday were still being studied yesterday.

And that’s a sign of how closely her reactions will be dissected when her check-fraud and murder trials begin. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

The prosecution stunned observers Friday with its graphic theory about how the child was murdered. WFTV-Channel 9 returned to Anthony’s reactions in a report yesterday on Judge Stan Strickland’s decision to deny several defense motions.

WFTV’s Kathi Belich observed that Anthony “seemed to cry” as the defense argued several motions, but when the prosecution offered its theory about the child’s death “Casey’s cold, steely expression changed only after words from defense attorney Jose Baez. Even then, still no tears were visible.”

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said of Anthony: “Either she needs to hone her acting skills or she needs to be herself.”

How interested are you in Casey Anthony’s reactions?

I thought that when they were looking back for Brad Conway. They always seem to include him in their little huddles.

  45. steph says:

I always thought that Casey would go with a plea and this would never go to an actual trial but seeing Casey’s anger in Friday’s hearing I am starting to change my mind. She has a lot of anger and I am sure she blames everyone else for this situation she is in. She is thinking it’s everyone else’s fault except for Casey even though she murdered her daughter. Her thinking: my mom forced me to kill my daughter, what other choice did I have? LE got involved because my mom called 911. They charged me with murder but they should have just believed what I told them. I’m charged with check fraud because Amy left her checkbook in her glove box. She shouldn’t have been so careless. And if my defense is not going well, it’s my lawyers fault. Casey lies and wants everyone to believe her lies no matter what. I think she is too narcissistic to admit she ever did anything wrong, let alone say she murdered Caylee. That would put her in a bad light. She may change her story to it was an accident and I panicked but I don’t think the prosecution would accept that now. If Casey thinks there is a slight chance she could get off by having a trial and be free then I don’t think she would take a plea. Andrea Lyon is probably laying it all out for her and telling her she could get the death penalty for this but I think Casey thinks she can still outsmart everyone and be found innocent. She is the type of person that would say I’ll take the stand, I’ll show them, they won’t break me even though her lawyer would demand she not. She thinks she can beat the system and is smarter than anyone. This is the same woman that told LE they are not going to get a confession out me.

    CAN YOU GUYS BELEIVE THIS!!

OrlandoEast is back on the Orlando Sentinel Site asking that everyone write their state representative on behalf of Casey :

Ridiculous. These are the most aggregous civil rights violations in history. Amanda Knox has 10 times more civil rights than Casey.

The state of Florida is ripe for judicial reform. This case will lead that reform. I urge you to write your Congress person and demand jurisprudence for Casey.

If this can happen to Casey; it can happen to you.

please give us a break what do you think we are enablers like you? I would never think of writing to anyone on behalf of a killer. No tears in court just cold steel eyes until the cue is given! than she tries to present distraught. You are not dealing with amateurs here. I think as long as you keep your face in the news !! the money train will keep flowing. What grandmother can sell pictures of their murdered grandchild. All the tv appearances that you got paid for geez woman get a life. If you think the killer has caylee in puerto rico than why did you take a cruise in the opposite direction. You know in your heart casey did it ! from your own mouth came the words” casey is a sociopath! your grandaughter would still be alive if you had intervened and sought help for casey. You and George have been all over the TV cameras changing your stories ! contradicting your first statements. Public opinion is that casey is guilty. You helped us draw that conclusion by your actions. Why wont you be caylees voice and seek justice. It must be hard to deal with the knowledge of your daughters guilt. Why did you wash her pants and clean evidence? what kind of grandparents/parents are you? how do you sleep at night? honestly how do you do that. Money has become your god you have found a way to prosper from caylees death. You didnt discuss caylee when caylee was on bond why??? RED FLAG

You say that you dont visit casey because of the taping! well what kept you from it when she was out on bond! you had the opportunity to sit and talk.

I agree with you Steph about Casey probably wanting to take the stand in her own defense. She is so sure of her ability to lie that I believe she thinks she can tell her story and be found not guilty. The narcissist in her will make her think that. We know that JB will tell her she “absolutely” cannot testify. BUT…. if she pushes for it, she does have the right to do it, doesn’t she?? As long as it’s made clear to the jury that the defendant is testifying against her attorney’s advice.

Hasn’t Jose been beating this dead horse for a while?
Note the date on this motion was July 2008.

July 29, 2008: Casey Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, asks a judge to bar the release of jail house recorded conversations, 922 tapes and visitor logs to the media. That request was denied.
