Charlottesville, VA–The disappearance of Morgan Harrington, missing since October 17, 2009 is exhibiting the potential to reach a temperature that is currenlty encompassing the Northeast: VERY COLD.
Through the thousands of posts at blinkoncrime.com and numerous articles covering Morgan, it is clear that frustration in the lack of lead generation and ambiguous statements from the Virginia State Police are causing some to lack conviction Morgan will be found.
In a recent press conference by VSP, LE provided NO NEW information or progress regarding Morgan’s case. In a shift of posture by the Harrington family, Dr. Harrington has begun participating in online chat and sponsored an additional facebook site to help the efforts to find his daughter.
In fact, for the first time in 2.5 months, we know what kind of camera Morgan had with her the evening of the Metallica concert from his research.
In contrast, we have viewed footage and photos of her dear friends that have clearly moved on without the knowledge of their friends plight.
Girls will be girls you say? Before one person comes on here to tell me I am being too critical of these young women you should know that due to a fortunate Facebook update, describing these girls as Morgan’s friends is entirely generous.
Furthermore, if you happen to be one of the parents that has provided booze for underage minors captured on digital for all to see you may wish to take a peek at what is on your daughter’s social sites.
Have you thought about what it would be like to be Gil or Dan while your linin’ it up and throwin’ em back WITH your kids?
Fortunately, this is not the focus today. I do not feel Morgan’s friends did anything to directly cause her fate. They are more “ME” than frienemy, that is evident.
Gil Harrington, posting on the families site findmorgan.com, wrote one of the most eloquent and courageous posts from the Mother of a missing child I have ever read.
The snowfall is beautiful but still disturbing – melancholy. Wonder if Morgan is cold – is snow falling on her face – or is her face covered by leaves in a shallow grave being hidden by the snow. I glance out the window and see the crimson blaze of a cardinal at the bird feeder – my heart leaps for a second at the beauty – then I think its feathers look like blood in the snow. Is that what Morgan’s blood looks like in the snow? See how the pitfalls are everywhere – even at the bird feeder.
In a somewhat angst-ridden moment, a poster on blinkoncrime.com suggested any and all witnesses in this case should be subject to repeated Barry Manilow songs until they confess.
It jogged a memory for me that reminded me that I am proudly my Father’s daughter. Morgan is Dan Harrington’s daughter.
Maybe someone, somewhere, has just not approached that perspective.

Barry holds a special place in the heart of my family. When I was a kid I used to play dress up with my Mom’s clothes. If a pair of her way-too-big-for-me heels was “done”, she would let me cut off the ankle straps and dance around in them as slides.
One afternoon, when I should have been doing my homework, I was blaring Copa Cabana in my Parents study dressed like a thriftshop showgirl and when ” Who could ask for more…at the Copa” part came on, I kicked like a 12 year old Rockette and launched my “slide/RPG” into the ceiling.
There it stayed.
I threw everything I could find at that shoe to dislodge it. Nothing.
Except for the new marks on the scalloped ceiling.
Later, when unbeknownst to me, my Dad was reading his 12 daily newspapers in the study, I thought I might try another idea.
I jumped as hard as I could at the spot upstairs above where the slutslipper was lodged.
It worked on the 3rd try.
How do I know?
I heard a “S o n o f a …..” , then something that sounded like a combination of my first and middle names with a swear word interjected that was rising in tone and volume, and now coming my way.
As I hit the hallway to head to the other direction or squeeze myself unnaturally under something, there He was
My Dad, evidence in hand, smiling wryly form ear to ear.
“Yours I presume, young lady,” his forearm outstretched gently with the nail to my coffin in his palm.
I responded .. “What makes you say that?
Could be ketchup or mustards..”
(Lame editors note: do NOT ask, my sisters and I had bathing suits that matched when we were little that were red, yellow and white, respectively, it stuck to this day, I was Mayo)
He replied .. ” Because I know, this weekend, when you fish out your overalls and help me fix the ceiling before your Mother notices, you would rather do that than whatever she comes up with so we can be all done here. The End. ( Blink dad making the wipe hands clean gesture)
She has been talking about repainting the Family room for months, I would LOVE some help with that…”
“Yes Sir.” I muttered with a matching grimace.
“Can I have it back?” I asked.
“I would say your dancing days are on hold, dear daughter, for the foreseeable future, as are your TV privliges.”
“Anything else? ” I asked.
“Why yes, there is. If you choose to dance through the house with wreckless abandon, next time, do it when your homework is finished and in your tennis shoes. And can you please try to be more like your Mother and less like me?”
“Doubtfull Deets, doubtful.”
With that carefully measured tween rhetort I skipped down the hall, crisis averted and I am still Dad’s fave.
I can live with the painting. Wonder if I can pick the color??
I chose to share this very personal exchange with my Daddy because it dawned on me that maybe someone that reads this does not understand what Morgan’ s Father (and family, but this reference is strictly male) needs from them.
He was her protector. He is her ceiling fixer.
You have to give him back what you took so he can fix it for her and their family.
He does not care who you are or what you may have done.
You can do this for them now. Have faith that anything can be fixed. Anything.

Amen! I’m local too, have daughters, work around UVa, and my kids are sometimes there for events too.
Some folks have just been inferring from the absence of information that LE has a solid lead that they wish not compromise. That can be a logical fallacy. A more plausible explication of this evidence (=the silence) might be: they are not talking because they don’t know what to say.

In the video I posted of Metallica when the camara man pans over the crowd there is a blonde girl head banging and chewing gum, she looks like Dee again. Seems no one moved much throughout the concert other wise how would they remain in the same spot to be taped by same camera man? Where are the guys in Dee’s group can anyone pick them out around her?

If we are starting at the beginning, these are the things that continue to plague me:
1. If Morgan was going to get a ride from someone, why didn’t she call anyone? There are dozens of UVA people on her Facebook friends. Her family spent Thanksgiving in Charlottesville with friends. Alec had friends at UVA. Yet she called no one and hitchhiked. It bothers me.
2. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….how the heck can no one know how she got outside! Didn’t the friends ask? Someone she spoke to? Didn’t she tell the texting guy? Or was Morgan evasive about what happened and if so, what does that mean.
3. The guy and kicking story always sounded odd. Is it possible she thought he was someone else, someone she knew or was looking for? Was the cursing not at him but just in frustration? If this is truly Morgan, I feel like this should tell us something.
4. I think the story about her falling (I can’t find it right now but will keep looking) involved her standing on a seat. If so, then she wasn’t standing by the stage….right? Or was it not Morgan who fell?
5. If Morgan was so messed up she ended up outside and she was “combative” in the car, maybe even on a bad trip, no one considered she shouldn’t be outside alone? Or were they all so messed up? In which case, I am not sure anything including the timeline and the reported conversation is accurate.
Okay, those are my top nagging questions. Any ideas? Other questions, besides the obvious where is MOrgan?
I just went to the local TV news website — wric.com — 95 % of the stories were about murder — two toddlers in Roanoke — a charge in one, the other, in his little sponge bob pjs still missing — but two teachers in Richmond — husband and wife — charged w/ sexual crimes against their freaking students — the judge — the only one who has any sense — denied bond — the wife, here is her plea to the judge for bail —

But how many other “students” has she raped ???
Another couple, missing since Christmas, found murdered in a car in the city.

That is quite an odd thing to say. I don’t consider Morgan Harrington to be a diamond in the rough at all. She seems polished, graceful, and refined. Certainly, she will be even more so, as she grows more into adult hood.
And notice he speaks of her in the past tense. To me, his posting last night underscored the fact that he knows he is being discussed. He probably felt the need to do what he considered to be his version of “damage control.”

RE. post 1654, maybe I am hyper focused on this case and on this site, but I actually thought there was a “break” in the case and Blink had to “shut down” for possible evidence retrieval from the LE. Blink, we truly appreciate what you do and miss you when you “don’t do”.

I cannot confirm this, but I doubt Blink would indicate a person’s identity and leave it left to interpretation.

I think LE does have pics from that night and possibly video that they are not puplically releasing that they have – that is why they can say she was definitely there.
I think LE is throwing out some red herrings. I think they know why Morgan left the concert and are not saying. I just don’t buy the went to the bathroom and mistakenly ended up outside the arena thing. I think they also have video of her outside the arena, possibly from the bank (I believe a bank) at the other end of the bridge.
I think the HH’ing is not the case at all. It just simply makes no sense with the amount of other options she would have had available to her.
Then you have the silence that surrounds everything – text records of what she was texting, what the BB players had to say about their encounter with Morgan, etc.
So, why?
I can only come up with three reasons – 1) This is all bigger than Morgan or 2) They do have a POI and are trying to make the person think they don’t or 3) I would certainly hope not, but a cover-up of some kind (I don’t believe this to be the case, but we have to consider everything).
Could the reason for the silence surrounding the friends and bb players be to protect them? Would releasing what they had to say put them in danger? Is that why her roomate (Amy, I think) moved out?
I am certain one of the many excellent theories posted by a fabulous group of poeple here is the right one. Problem is which one.
But, I have to believe that if we did with the little info we have, that LE must have a working theory, POI, something.

As others have stated, there were many blond-haired women at the show, so this could be anyone. But if this is Morgan then the account of her getting sick in the bathroom after LOG makes a lot of sense.
Skyler, I think I can speak for everyone here in saying we are so happy for you. (But I hope you also will keep that book deal on the front burners of your mind. If you had Random House interested, it must be good, and we all know the wonderful writer/storyteller that you are.)

YEA! now this is what i’m takin’ about! a timeline and thanks Momof3!! i wrote my own timeline down last night, thinking that i would sound nuts posting all the times of start, pause, start, pause, enlarge screen, screen freezes, then repeat! i had a trigger-finger and with the sound turned up, the family thought it was not a good nite to join in as they were scared of me! i was a women possessed and obsessed! i wanted to find Morgan and her group!
sorry sky, but i unfortunately need the sound to hear what the lead is screaming so i could time when he says certain words. i do not know how to explain this…it just helps me!

Roageo, an LE officer does match the profile of “someone who has too much to lose.” Certainly. But so do other groups of people….someone in a public office, an instructor at the university, someone active in their church, anyone with a previous run-in with the law.
So do I think LE? Well, they’re in the pot with everything else. Until something gets discounted it stays in the pot….simmering….

I think there are a lot of weirdos on the internet and Facebook, MySpace in general. I have over 500 friends, all of whom I have met personally once, and thats it. So there are lots of people on there I cant even remember who they are. I know that younger kids, like in their 20s, do friend people they dont know if they have mutual friends in common.
So I do think that this is someone Morgan knows on the periphery and is someone who is connected to her on Facebook.
I remember in the beginning, someone had mentioned that her friends number had gone up 2 and down 2, or something like that…
Does anyone have this info cached somewhere so we can do a cross audit to see who dropped off?

Local: per your comment #1631, I’m right there with you. I just can’t move my cheese from the idea that there is some vital morsel of information hidden in the details about the 17th that will unlock this case. Whether this vagueness is a calculated plan by LE to achieve a goal or is a sign of having no plan, is unknown to me. I hope and pray for the former.
I know I am preaching to the choir, but if detailed information and/or an updated timeline were officially released, someone just might remember something ov value. At this point, those who have publically admitted to direct or indirect contact with Morgan have been thoroughly vetted in the public forums, so I must conclude they have been so thoroughly scrutinized by LE. Thus, new leads, new information, and new direction are needed.
Most people aren’t always overly observant, but there are a number of reasons that this group might have been noteworthy:
1. 3 girls-1 guy (Not the normal mix-or do I date myself? Guys might notice the group because they are envious, girls might wonder what the guy has or doesn’t have, and some people might just be judgmental.)
2. their dress (How were the other girls dressed? I really don’t remember much being said about the outfits of the others. Did the girls dress similarly or was there a planned “uniform”? If all three were in short skirts, boots and all black, this would have been a dramatic picture. If only Morgan was dressed “girly” then she would have definitely been noticeable.)
3. their demeanor (were they in “party” mode before leaving Harrisonburg? Did they stop in H’burg, on the way to or once in C’ville for food, drink, cigarettes, ice, or to party? Did they party before entering the arena, did anyone else in the group chat or interact with anyone outside or inside the arena? Did they all go directly to their seats and remain during the first two acts, or were they mobile-getting food, t-shirts, flirting with others? Did the friends have contact with Morgan continually until she left at 8:20 pm or did they go their separate ways early in the day/evening? Was this a cohesive group or “every man/woman for his/herself”? Was there any calling or texting by other members of the group during the day?)
It seems that many of these question could/should be anwered by the friends. They may have given this and more to LE at the onset. But, by restricting the flow of info to the public, LE is putting a stranglehold on the investigation. UNLESS….they don’t need public assistance any longer.
Time to refill the thinking goblet.

Momof3, now I feel like I’m talking to myself! I’m trying to follow the Basta, and Horse Basta (saw the ref. to the Swedish drug rehab place?). The connection to Waynesboro? I know about the horse farm of MW, who is the cousin of SGM, but they honestly look like good hard working people to me. I have a lot of respect for the life they’ve led…MW’s wife was a policewoman, and a member of the mounted patrol in Charlottesville. This farm is the realization of her dreams, really…and she’s a mom. I hope they don’t get caught up in the fray of this case.

I should have guessed Blink would be going about the good business of investigating the cases she never forgets. And, Momof3, thanks for your research.
I want to address so many posts, but I only have a few minutes.
Momof3- you wrote that you didn’t think OYE was C**. I’m starting to think that maybe OYE is C**. I’m not sure if this is relevant or not, or if Gil is trying to tell us anything, but mouse got me thinking about horses and possibly children born to unmarried parents. In addition, I have been questioning the identity of OYE’s.
We know that OYE’s sounds like she is older and her posts are sometimes condescending, as if she is speaking to a child or someone who is much younger. (remember her “dearie” comment?) Mouse got me thinking about horses…C** works w/ horses and youth and she is in her late 20′s. I believe RT is in her early to mid-20′s and I’ve always thought that OYE’s comments were written by someone who was older than RT,but that was just my opinion. In addition, some have argued that the tone of OYEs’ posts are that of someone who doesn’t really know Morgan very well. Yes, RT might fit here, but C** fits as well. In fact, I think she is even farther removed from Morgan than RT. Using the photo at the top of the previous thread as a reference, I offer these connections:
A.Melvin, Morgan, RT and Sarah T. all know each other.
C**, Sarah T. and the creeper in the background of the photo know each other.
Creeper in the background is a musician in a band that Morgan et al. are fans of. He is older and had a baby with his girlfriend whom he later married. (Don’t know how relevant this is but…)
Blink posted that picture for a reason. She also gingerly asked us to let her be subtle w/ respect to that photo. When asked about heat and electricity w/ respect to the photo’s location she replied something to the effect….”but I am not an electrical engineer”. Is she trying to get us to make a connection that we haven’t made yet? Between this guy and Morgan? And I ask one more time…did she ever confirm that OYE’s is in fact Ramona?
Blink, is he relevant, can I post his name?
RT needs to open her eyes on her myspace page. Wish she would come back and post. She could actually help solve this and bring some sort of resolution to the Harringtons. I commend her for speaking up.

Mosaic, I see a girl on the left side of the screen, but i believe that is Dee. If you pause it on 3:07 you can see that the girl with the long blonde hair has bare legs. They kind of blend in with the guy legs with the tan pants, but they are bare. I appologize if this is not the same girl you are speaking of.

I know Ohio is in bad shape financially — I can interface with some of the public health services in each state, and Ohio is really really hurting —
there are income and resource guidelines. I helped a client a few months ago whose ex husband died and she began receiving his social security — which put her just dollars over the limit — she lost all of the assistance she was receiving — especially assistance with her drug costs — she burst out in tears and said: I will die. I cannot afford my medication — take the money back — I gave her as much info as I could, but I think about her all the time.
You know, perhaps your daughter can apply for a pell grant — I think they give your living expenses, too — and you don’t pay it back —

imo, the hh witnesses are extremely important,as in did she have purse or not?extremely important,cuz would indicate perp timeline and ease of locations,witnesses,cameras spotting car upon return.also did bb players see her with purse.who would risk hh w/o the cell?and id?ok ,she lost it,adds another level of danger to an already shoddy decision to hh,who saw her looking for it ?she had to of looked for it at least for a minute,before she hitchhiked.
