Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Plea Sans Adjudication In Court Today
Orlando, FL– By this afternoon, we could see Casey Marie Anthony convicted of up to 13 felony counts in the fraud trial scheduled for today at 1:30PM EST. Live Link
Over the last week, the legal wranglings, sentencing hypotheticals and LexisNexis databases where burning up the skype accounts of all the legal analysts in Or Lawn Do. I experienced it first-hand as I was in town last week:It was palpable.
According to sources speaking on the condition of anonymity to blinkoncrime.com, the plea negotiations between the State and Jose Baez, defense counsel for Casey Anthony in this matter, broke down over the amount of felonies she would agree to plead to, and the matter of adjudication. WFTV analyst Bill Schaeffer does a nice job discussing the importance from a legal perspective, here.
The afternoon face off between Linda Drane Burdick, Jeff Ashton and the defense team for Casey Anthony is expected to seek Judge Stan Strickland’s ruling on her sentencing and the issue of withholding adjudication which is the anticipated position of her defense.
Simply stated, there is no basis given the known facts of the case to argue that Casey’s actions constituted a necessity, agreement from the wronged party or victim, or any as yet unknown to us allegations such as needing cash for the nanny or kidnapping ransom.
While the defense does have a strong argument to be made that Ms. Anthony is a first time offender and Judge Strickland has already indicated that he will treat her accordingly, I have a suggestion for the State.
I submit aquiring tacky white sunglasses through fraudulent, felonies means, using said stolen property to perpetuate further fraudulent activity, followed by wearing them to your attorney’s office after you have been arrested for same, constitutes a spree. Adjudicate at will.

Re: Strange Breakfast video with what is thought to be Caylee saying over and over “I kill” to me, it has always sounded like she was saying “I keeeeel you” And I thought.. Caylee is repeating what she has been told … what she has heard someone say and probably more than once. BUT, “I’ll kill you…” blah blah blah is something a lot of people say without meaning anything more than “Don’t you dare” Of course, when I first heard this, and the lack of Casey saying anything made me feel very uncomfortable.

So if the defense can’t convince anyone Kronk is an accessory to the murder, maybe they can blame Dominic Casey, Joy Wray, Laura Buchanan and Joe(?) Jordan. They were in the area almost as much as Roy Kronk. Maybe they said the remains weren’t there because they didn’t want to incriminate themselves. It seems like Dominic would want to deal before he is thrown under the bus.

Has Leonard Padilla caused all this agitation to get the ex-wife going? She can not be very independent thinking not to ask the question of motive, the Anthony’s PI working for the grandmother who wanted to save her daughter at any cost, would not want the baby’s body location known, and was thought to be heading off law enforcement time and time again. This time, the PI’s job was to stage a little ‘proof’ for the cameras and public, then to turn around and report a Caylee mall sighting. It was all to subvert justice.
Kronk was doing just as many many people did, as he looked into those woods the first time, but he did not ignore it, he did not take a metal BBQ skewer and go stake it into ground, or lift the bag with it and toss it aside. (as per Dom Casey’s techniques caught on video).
Marica – approximately a third of the way into the video (not really sure and I’m not going to watch it again) Casey does speak to Caylee – she’s prompting her to say “I kill”. Those are the only words she says during the filming of Caylee. VERY STRANGE ~

But……with all the thinking, digging, and geniouses on this site, there are those that can watch a clip, read a report, or attend a hearing and FIND things that others can’t (like me).
So, in behalf of little Caylee, I am glad there are those who are willing to “do the dirty work”.
And for those (like me) that can’t watach it, well then we will learn from others, all that they find.
My comment on this gray afternoon: message to Dom Casey: stand up in court and tell the TRUTH, stand up for precious Caylee and do her justice, I bet you could singularly connect the disparate threads of this heinous crime… and then tell your story, write your book, whatever, that does not bother me.
But the thought that C + G Anthony would write a book about Caylee makes me sick. What an awful awful development. These people should be quietly trying to make some peace with their “maker” and come to terms with their losses, not any more profiting off of them. So sad. RIP Caylee.

Crystal flipped from highly praising Kronk in the end of December 2008, to just a few weeks/one month later, Crystal is sucking up to Leonard and trying to secretly get Kronk’s sister to secretly talk to Leonard P about dirt on Kronk in Feb 23, 2009. There is email proof in Discovery that Leonard is/was instrumental in digging up dirt on Kronk.
We know through Discovery documents, that Dominic (and Cindy and Conway and Baez and Leonard and Tracy McL) got involved with Kronk’s brother-in-law Mike (no marriage between Kronk and Mike’s sister) and Mike’s wife in April 4, 2009. First, Mike was praising Leonard in December 2008 – then Mike’s wife is totally trashing Kronk by April 2009.
Tony Padilla, Leonard’s nephew, stated several times on a blog in September 2009, that Leonard and Rob Dick have talked to Dominic at great lengths. Tony said that his Uncle Leonard has something goin on with him now, but was not sure what it was. Tony said that it will be something just to get Leonard back into the spotlight, that Leonard had been throwing it around to media people but they were not biting.
Tony Padilla said on a blog in September 2009 that his Uncle Leonard is talking with Jose everyday but did not know specifically why. Tony said that Leonard is upset about being out of the loop – not on NG and not on the Today Show (like Tony was), that Leonard loves being in front of the camera. Tony said that Leonard talks regularly with Baez. Almost daily. Tony said – supposedly one of the attorneys and an investigator (italic mine – Dominic?) flew to Sacramento over the weekend and met with Leonard.
Tony said he had no idea why Leonard would be in daily contact with Baez, but it can’t be good. Tony said he did not understand how his Uncle could talk civil to a person (Baez) that bad mouths him (Leonard) every chance he gets.
Tony said in August 2009 on a blog that it is really ironic that Leonard P and JB (Baez) have been talking often.
Tony told a blogger in a phone conversation in September 2009 that Leonard P is huddled in deep talks with the defense.
Tony Padilla said in August 2009 on a blog that Leonard is all about his face in front of the camera. Tony said Leonard started out very well intentioned but now is the epitome of ‘MEDIA WHORE” (caps by Tony).
Tony said that he feels that Leonard’s role changed from finding Caylee to getting as much air time as possible on TV.
It makes absolutely NO sense to me that Leonard would be doing soooooooooo much to try to discredit an important witness for the State – Kronk. There is no honorable reason for Leonard to be a part of that. There is also no honorable (justice for Caylee) reason for Leonard to be talking so much to Baez. IMO

Tony Padilla told WS that L Padilla was in contact with the defense “on nearly a daily basis”(paraphrase).
He didn’t editorialize all that much, he left it up to interpretation, as best as I can recall.
He did say Leonard liked attention. No shi-it.

I do not claim to have the answers, but what I would suggest, is that our legal system identify the nature of the illness to be incurable and impervious to rehabilitation.
What drives me nuts, if I am being honest, is that while I have never been a victim to such evil atrocity, nor do I know anyone personally that has, this seems like an absolute no brainer for me. I dont get it.

I wasn’t familiar with the ‘I kill’ video. If others thought it was pertinent – I wanted to see it for myself.
Really – it’s relatively harmless. It shows Caylee sitting in a highchair eating toast (I think) and drinking from a sippy cup. She tries to say ‘I kill’. There is barely any sound other than toast crunching. Casey only speaks once prompting her to repeat ‘I kill’. That’s it. Nothing more than that. Still, it’s strange.
I think she’s saying “I cute”. I know this won’t be popular but I just don’t hear what you guys are hearing. Really its a stretch – what would be the motive or point?

I think so, too. I have listened three or four times. I can’t hear the “I kill” from Caylee. I do hear “I kee…” . Perhaps “I keep.” ???
What she says is not plain at all. She is quite small in that video and she wasn’t talking all that plainly while reading the book in the nursing home.
Casey’s voice goes up at the end as in a question. “I kill?” as if she is trying to understand Caylee.
If she were instructing Caylee, wouldn’t her voice go down at the eed of the sentence? As she would sound in ” Caylee, say ‘I kill.’ ”

When I read the post upthread about CA, GA, DC and BC all going to NY several months ago to meet with Simon and Schuster about a book, it kind of made my blood boil. I can’t stand the thought of the As making money off of this tragedy. But do you think that Cindy’s reasoning is … if anyone’s going to write a book or make a movie, or do anything to profit from this, then it should certainly be Caylee’s family? Is that reasonable? Diane Fanning made money on this tragedy, and she didn’t even know the family. The play in Australia is making money, and no one there knows any of the As. I’m trying to play devil’s advocate here and see both sides.
I’m hoping and praying that at some point LDB and JA put their heads together and write a book about this case from start to finish (just like V. Bugliosi did with Helter Skelter). I would have no problem with the state attorneys making money. They don’t get paid enough as it is for the good work that they do. And I would think their book would be more about the facts than anything the As would write. But if the As publish a book, I have to admit that I’d probably buy it, just to see what BS they’re selling. And if they were involved in a movie or made-for-TV movie, I’d probably watch that too. But mainly because I just can’t seem to get enough of this case. There’s so much going on in the background that I’d love to know, but I doubt that we’ll ever know all of the facts. That drives me crazy!
So, my question is … should anyone be able to make money on a tragedy like this or is it ok for some and not others? We know Casey can’t, but her family can and most likely will. They’ve been able to hide their income source from the public for a year and a half. So I wonder how much money they see in their future… money that can be hidden in so many different ways, we’ll never know what’s going on. I guess that’s what bothers me the most — it’s the NOT knowing.

My opinion of why casey didnt bond with caylee is in part because cindy was so controlling and played caylee against casey by spoiling her and doing anything to spite casey and possibly casey hated her mother for it and turned on casey! back fired on cindy!! now she’s lost thm both and she has no one to blame but herself. I spent this weekend going over the tapes on youtube and in all o them cindy is so hateful to people. I watched the one with her on greta show where she said if you want to ask me questions and make it sensationalism something to that affect. Always hateful and mean. I watched and rewatched the I kill tape and like lilly said! I didnt hear what everyone is saying she said!! shes a baby and babys saying all kinds of strange words that they havent learned to form and speak clearly. we are reading to much into this tape. IMO!!

When Judge Strickland made the statement about Casey and the truth being strangers he should have included the rest of the famn damily.
I hope George and Cindy are arrested after Casey’s trial is over. I hope they are found guilty of whatever the state can throw at them. I hope their sentences include the stipulation that they will never be allowed to profit from the death of little Caylee.

Darth, I wouldn’t be too surprised if the defense “gets away with it” again but I really hope I’m wrong. What I’m wondering is, is it going to be a hearing that will have a live feed to us, like all the rest of them have been? I haven’t been able to find anything definite about that yet.
chica, I have to disagree about the tape, but then maybe different computer speakers give different qualities in sound. Then there’s the subjective human interpretation part.
I do think that Say Cheeze would be easy to tell from an ‘esss’ and ‘eeee’ sound, two syllables, and a hard ‘a’ sound is different from ‘say’ and ‘chess–eeee’.
But we can disagree on this one, it’s open to interpretation. It is strange if someone is encouraging a baby to speak, they play ‘peek-a-boo’ and talk to the baby, not just respond and correct or repeat. And why is the camera going below the tray table, then no fun peek-a-boo sounds from the camera operator. That’s weird, without reading anything at all into it, just strange for a mother to be interacting through a lens that close, yet no words.
Has anyone noticed that Lee is a speed demon on the roads? Well, maybe he only drove fast 5 times and got caught each time. What was he driving so fast to get to in September of 2008? What was an emergency that month to require speeding– could he have needed to speed to keep up with someone he was following? But, it adds up in dollars, wonder if the foundation covered the expense?

Did Casey have an E-Pass for herself in her car?
(we know that George ‘said’ that Casey went through tolls and didn’t pay, George said he got the bills on that– so does it make sense that Casey would not have her own E-Pass if she was doing this to her father? Cheaper for George to buy an E-Pass than to pay for Casey to skip tossing a coin)

Said to GJ that she believed Jesse was the father, yet a few days prior to the GJ, Geraldo had Cindy and Jose on, and Jose did his best to cue Cindy with a ‘don’t talk about the father’ face wipe. In this interview PRE-GJ, Cindy said they won’t reveal the father, and he died in a car accident.
Is it serious to lie to the GJ, or is a ‘belief’ statement more subjective, as ‘I believe because I choose to believe’?

Thanks for the revisit of the videos.
It does show that in the very beginning that Cindy was very, very distraught. She could barely speak and lost a lot of weight. I believe that she did not know what happened in the beginning, and was unable to face the possibility that Caylee was dead, that she just HAD TO believe in Casey. The alternative was too painful.
When Casey came home that first time, everything changed. Remember, even Jose was different, I remember him slamming a car door outside the house one time.
When was the first day that LE reported what was in the car. With Casey saying, well I’m still here/alive.
They knew from then on. Was that before she came home or after?
Right now, I agree with their plan to not prosecute the A’s so that they can use them in the trial. It can always be done later, no?

She was choosing the believe the lies rather than the facts presented to her. But no, it is obvious that she knows the truth and she is now lying herself.
