    OK, in looking at the peeping incident Oct 17th JMU Hillside Apts. I found the “Timely Notice” postings of all incidents. I am trying to confirm time of that particular incident. This posting says ‘just before 11:00. Now, all the other incidents had like 11:30pm etc. The PM’s were noted as such. Does that mean this one was 11:00 am? If so, this fella could be “sketch” having traveled away from H’burg to Charlottesville. I realize that is an assumption at this point, still trying to clarify.

    Lastly, I have been brushing up on what the SA does and here is a little bit of info I found interesting.

    Through cooperative arrangements with prison, probation, and parole officials throughout the country, The Salvation Army plays a growing role in prison rehabilitation and crime prevention. In some jurisdictions, prisoners are paroled to the direct custody of The Salvation Army. Services include Bible correspondence courses, prerelease job-training programs, employment opportunities in cooperation with parole personnel, material aid, and spiritual guidance to both prisoners and their families.
    Community-based rehabilitation centers are the trend in the field of corrections. Many Salvation Army rehabilitation centers and Harbor Light Centers have served as designated halfway houses where former prisoners can participate in work-release programs. Those convicted of minor offenses often are given the opportunity to accept placement in community service programs at corps community centers and institutions as an alternative to incarceration, or in the last months of their sentences.
    In addition, Salvation Army officers and volunteers lead worship services in jails and prisons. A national Salvation Army Correctional Services Sunday is observed. Counseling and emergency assistance also are available to crime victims.

    Police sketch of potential suspect in Harrington death begets flurry of responses

    State police say the sketch they released Thursday of a man forensically linked to both Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington’s death and the 2005 sexual assault of another woman in Fairfax has elicited 50 tips from all over the nation.

    State police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said the tips have come in the form of e-mails and phone calls, and investigators are now prioritizing them.

    Harrington, a 20-year-old resident of Roanoke County, disappeared from a Metallica concert in Charlottesville on Oct. 17. Her body was found in a field of an Albemarle County farm in January.

    On Thursday, police disclosed that FORENSIC EVIDENCE FOUND AT THE FARM links her death to the 2005 abduction and sexual assault of a 26-year-old woman in Fairfax.

    Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Jefferson Area Crime Stoppers at (434) 977-4000, state police at (434) 352-3467 or Fairfax police at (703) 385-7959.

    Blink.. I wonder how long it takes to process DNA on SO’s when they did not need it to convict. The date of conviction is 6-8-2007 and he first registered 6-10-2007. ? Does that mean he did not do prison time? The date of the photo is January 28, 2010. The fact that it takes so long in getting DNA evidence from a victim would work the same way with getting results for registration of a convicted sex offender. I am wondering if they would be put on the back burner so to speak? This would put a new light on if they are in the system and if their DNA is in the system.

  7. Ode says:

    Blink…they sure are keeping you busy today. Poor Kyron, what a mess. Back to DNA in the system. If someone committed a sex crime when they were under 18 would the DNA still be taken just as in adult cases?

    Geez, I’m glad you clarified, otherwise I would have wondered….

    The purpose of mentioning the furnture store is that is what is on the website. And to me, if this particular dude was involved with picking up donations, he could be associated with a truck. Information only. Take it or leave it.

  9. anotherB says:

    Could this be a case of cross contamination, or an error? DNA is often believed to be hard evidence, but very often, it is not. I am aware of two high profile cases in which “ghost” DNA appeared on a crime scene; in one case it could be traced to contaminated lab equipment… it was very spooky. The first few cases linked to this DNA trace were actually very similar in nature, but after a while it got more and more bizarre.
    There was also another case in which both the victim and a certain person of interest, who was later cleared, happened to have identical DNA, according to the test (routinely, they only do a limited number of loci). They had to refine further to distinguish between the two.

    I am just saying – if it doesn’t make sense, maybe it wasn’t him?

    The t-shirt’s appearance in the Rugby Road area has always been a puzzler to me, but even more so now that the DNA link with a suspect in another attack has been publicized. Presumably, someone with that type of crime background would know the hazards of leaving DNA evidence so readily available.

    But what if the shirt had been removed during the attack, possibly in the RV lot, and not picked up after the struggle by the bad guy, only to be found by a concert-goer after the show. Their immediate reaction would be to take it as a souvenir from the evening, but only later would they figure out it’s possible connection to Morgan. At that point he or she would be too ashamed to turn it over directly to authorities. Instead, they would just leave it in a open and obvious place.

    Just a theory. Apologies if I’m repeating one that has already been offered here

    _________________________________________

    Not to say it wasn’t found at the AF site (as none of us know), but we do know that the police didn’t say it was so this just seems to be more bad reporting. The roanoke paper is poor IMO.

    I have gotten a gazillion emails and “private” comments about the sketch.

    We have gotten requests from 2 different LE agencies for POI’s in unrelated cases, lol.

    That said, I thought I would provide a collective response, so if it comes up again perhaps a kind Blinker can help a gal out and copy this post.
    Question: Why In the world would VSP put out a sketch of a suspect, created 5 years ago, for a link to a case they had months ago, just now?

    Blink: I am not sure they had a choice. It is my belief they may have held it for investigative reasons and the Pham case forced their hand. While I continue to support them, I have maintained for some time I do not agree with the PR strategy in this case and if it is connected, I am sure we can all see the obvious problem . To not warn people about the possibility this was a serial crime, while they have an actual composite, would not sit well with the community.

    However, I am of the opinion that this sketch was also released because they have identified a suspect. Releasing the sketch would generate calls. Those calls would provide a name. LE would then have cause to seek to interview said individual. See where I am going with that?

    Question: Why would 2 different LEO’s quoted in the NBC piece say perps rarely look like their sketch’s if they wanted to generate leads from it??

    Question: Why do yout think VSP has not put the sketch out in every available way in C-ville and North Garden, where he must be connected to Morgan’s location? For such a big development, it seems such a meager way to present it. I saw over on findmorgan site after you scooped it that there was going to be a press conf that afternoon, and then there wasn’t. What was that about?

    Blink: If they have not ID’d a suspect as I state above, then I agree, and it is a very fair question.
    Although, it could also be that they don’t want every person that even resembles the sketch to be afraid to come out of their house, I don’t know. If this guy is serial, and I do believe he is, he knew this was coming, or knew immediately it would after Ms. Pham. I would keep a close eye on movements. Keep in mind, he knew presumably their was DNA in the 2005 case, but not so much in Morgan’s, so this goes from alleged sex assault to murder at a minimum. As far as the press conference, to my knowledge there was never any plans for one, so I believe just misinformation.

    Mom3.0– THANK YOU so much for finding that! *clink* I’ve been asking and wanting to know why people were so quick to assume the DNA was from the t-shirt. I never got that impression and when I read Gil’s comments, I was even more quizzical. So……..now, we can assume the DNA IS FROM THE FARM.

    I think this can take our analysis in a new direction. Let’s think about his DNA at the farm.

  14. Word Girl says:

    CvilleHoo–hi,
    do we know that the “forensic evidence” from the farm is actually DNA?

    In reference to this article published about the convicted Peeping Tom… or Peeping ‘J’, does anyone know the time of day (on Oct 17th) of the showering incident at JMU occurred? Does JMU keep records of such reported incidents?
    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:3Yjy5SAa1LQJ:breezejmu.org/2009/10/29/‘peeping’-incident-yields-arrest-but-not-timely-notice/+Jamal+Azeez&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
    “This incident follows the Oct. 17 peeping incident in Hillside Hall. An unidentified black male described as wearing all black and having a “distinct verbal dialect” entered the residence hall and opened two shower curtains while two female residents were showering in a hall bathroom.”

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Regarding Morgan’s shirt… It seems to me that it’s just as likely that someone had found the shirt, at some point realized it’s possible significance, did not want to become involved; thus, placed the shirt conspicuously, such to be found.
    That changes the criminal profile of a ‘cunning’ POI.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The sexual assault in 2005 and in Morgan’s abduction could have been accomplished by one person and without a struggle by using a taser. LE might already know or suspect this, but due to having to maintain the integrity of the details in these cases, cannot reveal this info to the public.
    A taser might account for the ability of the abductor in 2005 to move his victim to a ‘convenient’ area.
    If the abductor did use a taser, then that would account for there being no signs of a struggle in Morgan’s case and her purse and possessions were dropped and scattered on the pavement/parking lot.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    All of the aforementioned are some of my shared thoughts and questions that have come to mind while reading the compilation of various other posters and public articles via the media. They, in no way, have any factual basis, other than statements I have quoted.
    Would love to hear some thoughts from other posters. Especially about how to gain info relative to the time of the JMU shower/peeping tom incident.
  16. Houston Mom: says:
    Do any of ya’ll remember an article about an initial search around JPA? It was a path area (some where around there). And, some were examining a dark “trap like material”, for like 10 or 15 minutes. Could that be a connection with AF and DNA? Morgan may have been accosted and dragged off in an area around there first – being assaulted. Then, somehow taken to AF. ????
  17. Houston Mom: says:
    Sorry, that’s tarp .. not trap.
    Processing the news and comments has my head reeling.Bear with my rambling thoughts. I’m wondering about the two perp angle- birds of a feather working together. Was Sketch doing time for another sex crime between 2005-2009,escalated to murder to make sure he’d never have a living witness and return to jail? Was he on parole/work release and living in a halfway house for sex offenders somewhere close to Rt 29 between Fairfax and Ablemarle? Could he have teamed up with a younger, attractive and charming SO who may have the been the one who actually lured her to their truck,with Sketch hiding in the back and then becoming the aggressor/leader?
    Impossible, his DNA would be in the system.
    Everyone- this guys not in the system, can’t be if they have a profile but don’t know who he is.
  19. CvilleHoo says:
    Hi Word Girl-
    The only thing I’m basing my “DNA from the farm” working theory on is Gil’s comments on wsls (http://www2.wsls.com/sls/news/local/article/link_made_between_morgan_harrington_case_and_2005_fairfax_abduction/108967/)
    Specifically, the “DNA” part, and the “farm” part. In other words, I’ve not seen anything in print or directly from LE that says the forensic evidence was definitely DNA. Nor that it was exclusively from the farm. But I think Gil chooses her words carefully. At least in a statement such as this. I can’t imagine her throwing around the term DNA loosely or unsubstantiated. Nor saying it had rained down on “a dead girl” if the forensic evidence in question was actually off the T.
    As for the Pham case, I’m not convinced they’re connected. So I don’t think the Sketch forensic evidence from ’05 and Morgan needs to have anything to do with Pham (necessarily). But, after reading Blink’s comments above in answer to redly, I think she’s got some pretty convincing theories on how they may be connected w/r/t the timing of Sketch drawing. I don’t know…maybe something specific about the Pham case is tying together with Morgan’s case from LE’s perspective—something that is close to the vest that is actually more circumstantial at this point/that they can’t prove yet. But that connects them enough at this point to warrant closer looks…. Again, I’m not convinced, but that would be my answer to how they’re making a leap w/out DNA back yet from Pham.
    Blink, I am most interested in your response below!!
    You say, “Still believe there were 2 perps. I am not convinced this is Morgan’s perp, but I am convinced he knows who is. We have passed on a lead since the sketch was released that would have you off your chair.”
    B
    So, even if I’m not personally feelin this Sketch dude…YOU are CONVINCED he knows WHO killed Morgan! WOW, This is HUGE B!! Can you elaborate a little more, and atleast tip our chairs? How can SKETCH know who KILLED MORGAN if we don’t EVEN know ‘WHO SKETCH IS”
    Who is he connected to???
    You also mentioned that you feel that a taser was definitely used.
    Are you still firm in your remarks/statements, or have things changed?
    Please explain what you can :0) Thanks, Blink!
    Gifter, I will only say that sketch is forensically linked to Morgan’s case. That is really the only verifiable statement that can be made. I am very nervous about the posts I see implicating anyone directly. He came in contact with Morgan Harrington, and his DNA is linked to a 2005 sexual assault.
    I can maybe see Morgan getting into a car with a “cute” college guy (of whatever race), or into a car with a group of college-age females. But with this guy who is approaching middle age? Unless he was pretending to be law enforcement? All the more important to find out what her mental state was when she spoke with the basketball players. Also the person who picked her up on the bridge (if that’s what happened) is not necessarily the person who committed the final crime. I am wondering how definitive the specific DNA test in this case really is.
    _____________
    father and Son: Excellent point … and certainly plausible!! If some passerby did indeed happen upon the shirt later and pick it up to take home with them only to ditch it in the bushs later when news of Morgan’s clothing was released … now would be the PERFECT time for that person to come forward to investigators and tell them their story … after all – someone else’s DNA may apparently be on it and that “found place” may be indicative of location of the primary crime scene!! VERY important information!!
    I’m thinking, that perhaps too … the “finder” may have called in a tip where they told LE of “seeing” the shirt laying in the area of JPA (perhaps along the path mentionned earlier) and that is what led to the search of the specific tarp/path area?? And, that later, they tossed the shirt?
    dina h., thank you for the info and link to the JMU newspaper, The Breeze.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    It does seem like a very big coincidence regarding the time of the intruder in the dorm showers on the morning of Oct 17 and the abduction of Morgan later in the evening on that same date.
    “Intruder Peeks in Hillside Showers” begins this way: “A trespasser entered Hillside Hall on Saturday morning, just before 11:00 am., and opened two shower curtains while two female residents were showering”
    http://en.calameo.com/read/0000780191847ab5a7027
    Quite a coincidence.

  27. counselor4u says:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Does the two different “dialect” descriptions rule out just one intruder and solidify that there were two? Or was the intruder quick thinking and deliberately used another accent?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Certainly seems like further coincidences that JMU had another peeping tom/intruder at least twice so close in time.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Personally, I find a conglomeration of coincidences highly perplexing.
  28. CvilleGirl says:
    George said “All the more important to find out what her mental state was when she spoke with the basketball players. ”
    Well, I can tell you that. One of my coworkers spoke to the BB players and told her the same thing they told police. I can tell you her state of mind and what she said, but I don’t think Blink wants me to, so I won’t. It’s not flattering to Miss Harrington.
  29. Judi says:
    I don’t know why, but everytime I look at this picture, my minds eye goes directly to seeing him in a security/rent-a-cop uniform.
    Wish we could get confirmation on if his DNA was recovered from Morgan’s shirt or if it was on Morgan herself and/or Anchorage Farms. Or, could it be his DNA was recovered on the shirt AND Morgan? Also, what was the source of the DNA? These two answers would tell us a great deal of the level of his involvement. That he is involved is a confirmed fact and is of no doubt according to LE. But, if we are still considering multiple, or at least more than one, persons involved, then this may tell us of what exactly his involvement was. Did he rape Morgan (DNA on her – semon source)? Did he plant the shirt (DNA on shirt – skin/hair type DNA source)? Did he place her on AF (DNA found on Morgan and/or AF)? Is he the one who actually killed Morgan? (DNA on Morgan – his blood, skin under Morgan’s nails, etc, obtained as Morgan fought him)? Is he the one who abducted her (Possibly his DNA on both the shirt and under her nails as she fought him?)
    Still, for 150K and if a decent person, justice, if someone even thinks that someone that they know COULD be him, I think they will call.
    I think this man is now nervous being that a sketch of him is all over the TV with a 150K price tag. He may be staying out of site more, calling off work, definately some kind of change in his behaviour, that may also trigger an alarm for someone.
    If you even think if could be, but not sure, it doesn’t matter, if the DNA don’t match, he will be set free, if the DNA is a match, a serial rapist/killer has been finally caught. So, CALL!! No har, only good can come from it!
  30. Cat says:
    It would appear that the person in the sketch, based upon his racial profile alone, would be fairly “easy” to indentify if his connection to AF were “legitimate”. It appears that LE has known about this information for some time and has failed to make a connection. Either his connection was NOT “legitimate”, or the crime WAS committed by more than one person, one who did have a connection to AF. LE has only asked for the public’s assistance, when they NEEDED the public’s assistance.
    I honestly don’t think this looks like “Sketch” at all.
  33. katie says:
    Remember, LE said only “Forensic Evidence” links 2005 Assault to Morgan’s murder. They never said “DNA.”
    Also, I wonder if this “Sketch” was a serial rapist and inadvertantly Morgan died in his presence then he had to cover up his involvement an possibly inflicted the bone damaging blows after the assault. He is a strong man, this “Sketch”. He may have a construction or heavy machinery background. He may have used tools to shatter her bones, post-mortem.
    If this has anything to do with a peeper who escalated to assualts & rapes and ultimately murder, the peeping could simply be his process of gathering info for his future assaults
    I have personal experience with a peeper who had already committed at least one violent rape (4 years before being my peeper) and he had a string of sexual assaults before and during his stalking/peeping of me and my roommate. He worked entirely alone. He had two MOs. One was the peeping/stalking and the other was driving to areas of low lighting and lying in wait for unsuspecting woman who were walking alone after dark. Same guy-two MOs.
    Very good Picture of Jamal Abdul Azeez (not to be confused with W.VA man, Jamal ADEEN Azeez)
    I honestly don’t think this looks like “Sketch” at all.
    ******
    Thank you!
    Has everybody excluded a sports connection? They other day I went thru coaches, team members who are now too young if we go with age from the sketch, right?
    So this person moves about a bit. Like someone mentioned, a sales person, fedex, that loadup,takedown band workers. ( I cant think of the name ? RMC).
    I also want to ask, has everyone discounted the AF photos as just coincidental and unrelated?
    George said “All the more important to find out what her mental state was when she spoke with the basketball players. ”
    Well, I can tell you that. One of my coworkers spoke to the BB players and told her the same thing they told police. I can tell you her state of mind and what she said, but I don’t think Blink wants me to, so I won’t. It’s not flattering to Miss Harrington”
    Really? CvilleGirl, we got to go there again???
    Would you like it if your friend told me that you were a bitch?
    When it would not be true and you could not defend yourself against it?
    First of all, a UVA BB player told your coworker what she said, her state of mind and it is the same thing he/she told police???
    May we call Lt. Rader to confirm this?
    I know that you may whole-heartedly believe your co-worker but people say all sorts of crap to be connected to the dead girl. Especially, if it will bring them some sort of notority. No matter how big or small this notority may be. Now, before you get all jacked up about this, I want you to know that you may believe what you believe but remember just because someone said something…it doesn’t make it true.
    Second.
    I have a problem with you saying that Blink on Crime has now taken up censorship. Never in all my days, weeks, months of reading, searching, posting have I ever experienced BOC censorship.
    Moderating, Yes but Censoring, No!
    Or my guess is your above post would have been tossed.
    FYI: She is a victim advocate.
    Third.
    I do not have a problem learning what Morgan Harrington did or didn’t do, said or didn’t say, no matter how positive or negative the comments she made or her frame of mind. But, what I do have a big problem with is the street called,
    “Whisper Down the Lane of Hearsay”.
    Fourth.
    I have read every single post here, e v e r y, single one and even every one of yours. Some are good and do make sense. Add something to further the discussion. But one dear, in particular has always bothered me. It was in reference May 4, 2010 at 9:58 a.m., checking the box of “deceased” for Yeardley Love’s Medical Records.
    That was not your call to state.
    Nor is it your call to pass along hearsay of a co-worker.
    Yes, I understand that your job is within UVA and that you are proud of your work. Got it.
    But, please do not buy into every Tom, Dick, and Harry comment about Morgan and her last words, moments, or events that led up to her final hours on the face of this earth and for heaven’s sake, protect what is valuable to each and every one of us and that includes yourself!
    Our personal records.
    “Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself.”
    Or something like that.
    See Ville Girl, no one needs to stand up for any of the University of Virginia Basketball players that may have interacted with Morgan Harrington that night. UVA’s very own mouthpiece, Ms. Carol Wood told us all that it was entirely up these BB players to speak publically, if they so wished. They did not. THAT was their call. If they want to come out and say what happened or what crappy thing Ms. Harrington said or didn’t say or implied, then I say to them…
    “Let it rip!”
    I will be the first one in line to listen! I will listen with open ears, an open heart, and an open mind. Yes, some of us can do that. Even in the face of death. A murder to be exact and even if I do not want to hear it because it may paint her in a negative light. I will listen.
    I am positive that they can find representation that would be their very own mouthpiece concerning this case.
    They did not choose this option either.
    Last but not least, I’m sorry if I offend you. I do not mean to. It is just how those words came out. I feel that they were fightin’ words and let’s face it, Morgan may just need someone in her corner to fight back. So I self-nominated. I have job experience in fightin’ for dead girls.
    What need I do feel is that the truth be told no matter how ugly, how pretty, or how much we all may or may not like to hear certain facts. Facts! Getting rumors, inuendo, gossip, or just plain hatin’ on her does not serve justice. It just muddies the waters and destroys reputations.
    Both Morgan’s and she has alreay suffered enough and yes, I know that you may find this hard to believe but even those UVA past basketball players that were let go for a mirade of reasons. If they truly had a problem with what this girl said to them, then they should have turned on their heels and called for help for a nasty, drunk, or whatever they want to say she was…girl! Who, if I am reading between the lines, they feel made innapproprate comments.
    Gee, how unbelieveably sad that she would be dead within a couple of short hours from their so-called interaction. They should want to rise up and be the men that their mothers, no doubt, had a hand in raising them to become successful collegiate-level athletes. No matter their downfalls now. They can change.
    Morgan no longer has that option.
    This is why I just want to be fair. Fair to them, fair to UVA, fair to her father, her brother, and to that mother who raised her. But, most of all fair to the girl who lost her life in what looks to be a vicious and heinous assault of epic proportions.
    CvilleGirl, I hope you understand. I’m not hatin’ on you either nor do I want to repeat myself.
    I just feel there is no need to “kick her”.
    What the hell did I miss? Sheesh.
    B
    She is already “down”.
    Could Sketch be camping out on AF, unbeknownst, to Bass? Maybe his personal belongings were left behind. Or atleast some of them.
    It was warm. I don’t know about hunting season or if cameras captured anything or one.
    Where would he park? Is this why the request from the area cyclists? A vehicle where it shouldn’t be?
    Or how about the Sutherland Road firehouse?
    Friend of a friend, let him camp there?
    To my knowledge, at this point, his DNA is the only known link to Morgan’s case.
    I am however, very encouraged by this development.
  42. Catch says:
    Let’s take a closer look at “Sketch” & Harrisonburg “JAA”
    What we’ve learned about Jamal A. Azeez, 34, arrested several times for “peeping” in Harrisonburg, VA & at JMU, includes one incident that occurred just before 11am on October 17, 2009.
    A photo of him is shown at http://www.whsv.com/home/headlines/95057074.html and after enlarging and lightening the small photo, taking his downward glance and 5 years difference into consideration, my opinion is that it bears a striking resemblance to the Sketch which was recently released by VSP, which is related to the 2005 unsolved sexual attack case in Northern Virginia. The eyebrow on the left (sketch’s right side) is exactly the same shape, and the lips look alike, as do the eyes. Jamal A. Azeez’s age is close to the right range, too. Compare the following two images…
    Sketch:
    http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad180/Catch1999/BlinkOnCrime1/Sketch.jpg
    JAA:
    http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad180/Catch1999/BlinkOnCrime1/JAAzeez.jpg
    The page for Jamal Azeez on Facebook, which has been removed now, had a very light photo and mentioned The Salvation Army among his links. I have located a pdf file of a Salvation Army publication with a Jamal A. Azeez mentioned, linking him to the Harrisonburg Salvation Army, shown below…
    From The Salvation Army publication….
    “footsteps” – Vol. 4, No. 2
    Soldiers’ Forum 2003… Soldiers Explore the Future
    Page 3, column 3, second paragraph reads…
    On the territorial level there is TSINC
    that meets when representatives from each
    division meet to discuss similar issues.
    NCV representatives are Scott Bedio of
    Fairfax, VA and Cristina Bell of Arlington
    with Jamal Azeez of Harrisonburg as the
    alternate. In the event a regular member
    cannot be in attendance at a TSINC meet-
    ing he will go.
    Leads me wonder if Jamal Azeez has worked at the C’ville Salvation Army Store on occasion. Might the Bass family or one of their tenents have donated some furniture of other heavy item that required the Salvation Army to come pick it up? Would the SA keep all the items donated from the Albemarle Co/C’ville area at the C’ville Stores, or do they move them to stores in other cities sometimes? That might explain his connection to AF &/or the C’ville area. I wonder where one would check to find out if he were among the prop handlers hired locally to work JPJA for that event?
    Is H’burg JAA the same person as Sketch…?
    There are similarities, so its close, but I really don’t know.
    Always questions, questions, questions… seldom answers.
    Blink & Blink regulars, many excellent insights posted!
    Holding the Harringtons, all 4 of them, in my thoughts and prayers.
    being out there?
    Really CvilleGirl?? You’re gonna dangle a carrot like that? Can you possibly be a little more specific? We have already been told by LE that she was intoxicated, so we know her state of mind, no need to elaborate on that…it’s more what she SAID? What did she want from them? Blink?
    Let me say this- I have been aware from day one what is ALLEGED that she said. Then, Blinkteam visited the FB’s of said BB players and sorry, but I gotta say, given their chosen dialogues ( and I am being charitable) I find it very hard to believe their account. Keep in mind, these guys DID NOT come forward, they were identified. I will leave it at that.
    I do not wish to get into the race or athlete issue again. Just because sketch is black, does not mean he hangs out with basketball players or conversely fratanizes with the Garden Club. Hootie is now singing country people, let’s adapt and get out of the stereotypes.
    We have confirmation Morgan had an injury, received inside JPJ and that she had been drinking with her friends.
    The rest, is all hearsay. Does it bother anyone else that the BB players accounts only started after their interviews?
  45. fish says:
    Blink, I hope that you do not mind that I brought a portion of my post over. Seems like some important information we all can learn from and that Virginia is at least moving in the some direction concerning the DNA database even if the ACLU does not agree.
    “Virginia’s DNA databank has been a leading model nationwide; in 1989, the state became the first to create such a databank, and recently marked its 5,000th “cold hit.”
    >A “Cold Hit” gave us Sketch’s face. Did it not?
    “Harding said his goal is not only to catch criminals but also to keep the innocent from being wrongly convicted, and he believes the DNA databank has proven useful on both measures. As an example, he pointed to a 2005 case in which a University of Virginia law student was raped. She identified a suspect, but DNA evidence eventually pointed to a different man, John Henry Agee, who, because of his criminal history, was in the databank. He was convicted and sentenced to a 40-year prison term.”
    >Seems another DNA hit exorated an innocent man and successfully convicted the guilty one. Did it not?
    Thanks for the link. It lets us know that there is a force to be reckoned with in Albemarle County and they are a proud bunch. But one thing, do you see how their photos start off with the gentle smiles of those deputies?
    And then BAAM!, Holy Toledo!…
    “Deputy Ike Wright”!!!
    Looks like someone I do not eva, eva want to meet. Eva!
    Maybe we can ask him to make some housecalls and guide the murderer of this young, gifted, talented, loved-by-so-many girl, to surrender and received the help HE needs by Lady Justice. They also have psychiatrists within the system that could start him on some road to recovery and redemption. Then again, maybe because there is no movement by someone, (You know Who), maybe the big, bad Deputy needs to come a knockin’!
    Just sayin’ ya know and Saramom, here is some good reading about the “DNA Dude”.”
    I hope you didn’t think I was trying to insinuate something racial in my comment. I’m not trying to connect the sketch guy to the BB players. I’ve just always really wanted to know what she said to them. They are according to LE the last people known to speak with her. I’ve always thought whatever was said was important in some way. Since you know the BB players story and you discount them altogether I guess it’s not important…
    Not at all. It was a general comment to head off that direction.
    About this Jamal Abdul Azeez, first of all he seems to have a large black mole along the bottom of his right jawline. sketch doesn’t.
    His hairline is completely different as well.
    Secondly, I found a facebook page for a
    Jamal Azeez- LOCATION (CHARLOTTESVILLE):
    http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1449732105&hiq=jamal%2Cazeez&ref=search
    Not absolutely certain it is the same azeez but he has a friend who works for the Salvation Army.
  48. katie says:
    Make that 12 friends of Jamal Azeez, Charlottesville that list Salvation Army under their Facebook name.
    Maybe he knows “Sketch” and was called for assistance or even met up with him in c-ville after his morning peep. All geared up for some more activity in that respect. Maybe “Sketch” took it too far.
  49. GnM says:
    Where was it that the newspaper delivery person saw someone fitting Morgan’s description. At what — 3 a.m. Where is that in proximity to where the t-shirt was found? Is it at all possible that Morgan did go to a party with some nearby college kids and for whatever reason left at 3 a.m. and while walking met Sketch? It is just so odd to me. This new development.
    B, see CvilleGirl’s–NOT localcvillegirl’s–July 5 at 12:00 pm. Smug and unproductive, and although I understand it feels like “something” to have (ahem) second-hand “knowledge” of what Morgan said to the BB players, it’s really not news unless you can share with LE where she was headed/what her intent was, or whether she complained of someone upsetting her. (But you say what you heard is exactly what the BB players told LE.)
    This is not about having more info than the next person or making oneself feel important.
    Again, I think (hope) no one here has Morgan on a pedestal or expects to hear she behaved like an angel that night. I don’t care how she behaved or what she said; no one had the right to take, touch, or kill her.
    Maybe her purported behavior offended you, CvilleGirl, but I imagine we share the goal of finding the perp(s) to make your community safer for you.
    Well Said. I think this reflects on what I have eluded to as far as misinformation from certain jurisdictions early in this case.
