Portland, OR- The tangled web that is the life of Terri Horman continues to weave.
In an Exclusive development to blinkoncrime.com, a Portland local, declining to be identified, provides the bombshell revelation that Terri Horman was behind the 5:16PM call to 911 last June 26th.
The object of her “threat based” call to 911 requiring officers response?
The Landscaper, in his white truck, on her property, demanding his payment for $10,000.
The same Portland source confirmed that an undercover detective, playing the role of an associate of the landscaper turned alleged assassin, was present. It was also confirmed a bulk of the incident was overheard on the police scanner. The Truck registration and plate were called in on an open channel as well.
What they did not count on, during the surreptitious meeting, was that Terri Horman would shut down the brief meeting and call Police; thwarting what they were hopeful would end in an arrest.
Kaine Horman had been advised to remove the couples 18 month old daughter in advance, for their safety, earlier in the day.
Upon deputies arrival, as informed by Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office about the sting, detectives were forced to tell Terri Horman she was a suspect. Horman hired Stephen Houze, prominent Portland defense attorney by Monday June 28th.
The identity of the landscaper has been withheld as this is an ongoing investigation, but blinkoncrime.com has learned that it is contained in the sealed portion of the restraining order obtained by Kaine Horman.

Was anyone surprised that Kaine is the “sole owner” of their residence? Doesn’t that seem odd for a married couple?
Could it be that she didn’t have income enough to qualify for the loan?

According to Kaine at the KOIN interview on July 8, he is seeking to re-establish his residency with Kiara at the family home. He says it is for the comfort of the little girl as opposed to the comfort of an adult (Terri) living there.
No, he purchased prior to their marriage in 2006. That said, he may have had to given she was on probation with a criminal record at the time.

Hopalong, I posted this a while ago, but it’s worth repeating. The divorce filing states that the PETITIONER (that would be Kaine) is not pregnant. It says nothing about the pregnancy status of the RESPONDENT (that would be Terri).
I wonder if the landscaper is in police custody, has admitted involvement, and LE is trying to tie up the loose ends with TH involvement. In other words, I wonder if LS knows where Ky is, or what happened to him, and now LE is trying to connect the dots to TH.

@nana2: i was curious about the “k” naming thing, too, and I read online that it is a novelty thing and shows that the children are considered novelties sometimes. I guess there have been a few other cases, one with Ds as I recall, where the children all had the same name. Anyway, it was interesting, but don’t know if I’d stake my life on the theory. If I had the link I’d share. And who knows if the “novelty” info was even worth sharing”
It happens even in very loving families. My cousin’s initials were (the same as mine) XX (letter changed to protect the innocent, lol). He married someone who also had the first initial X, so they were then XX, too. They just got in the groove, and now all four of their children have the initials XX. The names may be “novelties,” but their children are not.
I wouldn’t make a psychological assessment based on it.

The school has vacated for the summer including all staff. I would take a guess and speculate that the restraining order also keeps her off the grounds, where there could possibly be unidentified evidence and/or contact with the landscaper as well.

They were working on a path at or around the school. Do you know if that has been completed. Did they look for the little frogman Kyron on the outside grounds. I know they looked inside. I’m sure if LE thought he was there, they would have dug through the newest aspects of the landscape, eco project. I just had the thought though.
Their press conference tonight was really depressing. You could tell that they are both seething with anger at TH (completely justified). It was also interesting that when asked the question if there was someone else involved that they both paused, looked at each other and declined to answer. It makes me think they suspect who TH hired to help her with Kyron. I really respect Desiree for her honesty, yet holding in her thoughts on TH to focus on Kyron. You could tell that she had a lot to say about TH based on the years of co-parenting. I also have to say that KH must be under tremendous strain — worry over your son and then finding out that the most important person in your life tried to have you killed and is involved in hurting your son.
I really hope this little boy is found soon. TH deserves a place in hell for what she has done.

I hope Kaine can get TMH out of their home asap. Imagine the cojones it takes to stay in that house after all of that has transpired! If she was innocent, there would have been some kind of statement by now, either directly or through her lawyer. IMO. Why doesn’t she just move out? At least show some smidgen of care for Kiara, if no one else. I fear she isn’t assisting with the investigation b/c the worst has happened. I so hope that I’m wrong.

Please don’t do a bad rap on Landscapers~We live in a beautiful home & hire Mexicans who we respect & treat fairly ~ carry workmans comp pay all the taxes~ etc which will probably force us out eventially as a small business ~ we have 250 customers & been in the bus for
40 plus years ~The only problem we have had is some people taking advantage of US & NOT paying~!!!! We have both been to college & are SANE & have business skills ~ Good grief~! In all fields ~ there have been bad people commiting murder or doing crime ~ I have heard about the lack of smartness of Landscapers ever since this broke ~

I just want a detailed timeline of what terri did that day.
From day one, when she laid her head on BM at the first press conf, it was all fake. I tried to be positive about her, but her involvement came to mind and I then washed it away, trying not to be negative. Trying to hug on BM was to see how BM would react. Well she got her answer and it has gone down hill for her since then.
I am sorry to ask again, but has it been confirmed that Kyron was at school that day and if so how was it confirmed..Who saw him there??

Lizzy, I didn’t make an assessment based on that, that’s why I shared what I read, but included the caveat. I also later provided the link as “interesting” but again with an “I wouldn’t stake my life on it” sort of disclaimer. I had an LTR w/ the 4th of 6 “D”s (not one of the Ds mentioned in the link), and my “D” was relatively normal. I cited it because I thought it was an interesting statement, not because I thought anything more.

There was a murder for hire plot many, many years ago involving an infamous Portland woman. In that case, she was pleading not guilty until FBI provided evidence (caught on tape) of her scheming with her would be hit man. This ended with her pleading guilty, avoiding a trial by jury and being sentenced by a federal judge.
I think this is what the MCSO was hoping for with the sting on 6/26. While not a good end, I don’t blame LE for hoping to get a quick and easy charge against TH. With that, they could deal with her (drop MFH charge in exchange for info on return/recovery of Kyron). I don’t see TH confessing anytime soon – so I am just hoping against hope that LE can get some leads on Kyron that don’t include them counting on TH for cooperation.

@ DiDi: It’s quite possible that, because of her daytime activities (we’re not sure what that was), Terri made Kyron stay in his room until she told him he could come out. So, he may have been afraid to leave his room in the morning until someone went to get him. Just speculation.
Every person functions according to a set of “rules” that make sense to them. The network of those rules forms a pattern of logic (or conscience). A baby’s logic is easy to see: “Toy hidden under blanket = toy no longer exists in my world.” At every age, we expand our rules using our conclusions about our physical, emotional, and spiritual experiences, relationships, etc. – what works and what doesn’t. Our logic for living should be tested and refined as we develop and learn, but sometimes that doesn’t happen successfully. A person may have issues (recognized or unrecognized) such as a history of abuse, unresolved fears, attachment/adjustment or personality disorders, inadequate parenting and role models, addictions, personal tragedies, or even positive input which is misinterpreted, leading that person’s view of life to depart from the generally accepted norm and to create unproductive “rules” which persist and take over. Every action we take is subconsciously justified within ourselves by our “logic” – otherwise, we might freeze and be unable to act at all.
A person who participates in a crime(s) against people, including those they profess to love and those who are vulnerable children, is one example of someone whose logic is based on faulty (self-created) logic. That’s why so many of us say we can’t understand how a person could do something so horrible or unimaginable – we really can’t. Neither can that person understand when we react as we do – except to acknowledge that those who don’t understand them have created laws which really “shouldn’t apply”.
I believe many posters, particularly on local news websites, who seem to be so angry and even threatening toward TH are probably each hoping to be “the one” who convinces her to confess and let this case be resolved. I can appreciate that urge, but if, as I suspect, she has a totally different, longstanding view of her own behavior and feels justified, wronged, and misunderstood (true or not), then those comments would simply prove her right. Since we know she has continually read them and the desired results have not occurred, I hope the “lynch mob” comments stop. I think DY made the best effort she could by appealing to TH’s feelings for Kiara and James.

TH is a teacher and, although not employed full-time, has done some work at the school. She is now deemed a potential threat to children (and adults), so LE does not want her at the school for any reason.
Folks, as I stated before on here listen to the direct statements about Kyron coming home. They know something. They seem to have more than just a hope that he is alive. He is somewhere. They don’t even hesitate when answering or say there is a hope he is still alive. They say he is alive without even stopping. Even a little laughing in the press conference. Any parent who knows there son is not alive would not be laughing. All you have to do is listen to the answers to the questions. Kyron is coming home. DY said she had feelings and that is part of the investigation. DY and TY were possibly going to get custody of Kyron and TH wasn’t going for that. Be patinet. A plea deal will be made and Kyron will come home. Again just listen to their answers from today.
Based on the press conference tonight and that Horman is supposed to be with with her lawyer tonight, I think something is going to happen very soon. If Terri doesn’t talk within the next day or so, my hope for Kyron’s life will plummet.
Where is Kyron?
Mom and Dad said they were hopeful he is in Oregon (alive) but dad acknowledged that it was 7 hours before they knew he was missing so he could have been two states away at that point, etc……

There are only three ways I can think of to make Terri talk: 1.find a good reason to arrest her and make it stick. THen LE will have negotiating power and something to trade for her knowledge, i.e. shorter time in jail, lesser charges, etc. 2. Kaine threatening to commit suicide over the loss of Kyron and taking Kiara with him. That might appeal to the only thing she loves besides herself…Kiara; and finally, number 3…torture. Other than these three scenarios, she has no motivation to talk. She has proven that she doesn’t have the basic human decency to care about Kyron’s welfare throughout the past month so why should that change now? She is 100% interested in taking care of #1 and then #2, Kiara. If LE can find a way to appeal to her self-interest, she might open up buy only if Kyron is alive. If he is not then she will do a Casey Anthony and force LE to prove her guilt on the off chance that they won’t be able to and she might get off scott free. She isn’t talking because she’s keeping all her options open at this point. LE needs to find a way to take away those options, one by one.

Why hasn’t TH’s lawyer responded to anything? You’d think he would at least say some bs lawyer-ly comment about his client, but he’s silent.
Is he too busy trying to sell her story to the highest bidder?
Good Grief! I wouldn’t TRUST Terri for anything…and Kaine wants to return to his home, where Terri would have access to him!? I think he is better to stay in his undisclosed location. If this woman can pull-off Kyron’s abduction, weave this unbelievable web, etc., I wouldn’t put it past her to cause more harm to Kaine, burn the house down or hire another hit man. Anyone that knows much about RO, people break them all the time and LE can’t always respond quick enough. I hope Kaine rethinks this move. Now, if Terri is arrested SOON, he wouldn’t have any problems or worries about her.
Desiree is AMAZING! I HOPE that, in the event Kyron does come home, that she and her husband seek full custody giving Kaine just the visitation rights. Kyron belongs with his MOTHER!

That would certainly be ideal, but when someone has reportedly placed a bounty on your head and could possibly harm your daughter (who is all you have left, for all you know), it is wise to remain in an undisclosed location as long as that person is walking free.

Maybe, but a RO of that type is usually to keep whomever away from an area the petitioner might be at. If Kaine is going to be at the school for investigations or for any reason, he would list it. I once had to place a restraining order of protection on an abusive ex and the court asks you to name all the places you are located at most of the time (home, work, school, childcare, gym, etc) and those places are then put into the order.
I just want to throw out my opinion for a sec.
TH is more useful to the investigators if she’s not in custody so maybe that is why they haven’t arrested her. They must be tracking her every move on the computer, telephone and in town. Maybe they’re hoping she’ll trip up somehow or someone will contact her and give them something that may lead them to Kyron. Once she’s in custody she’s completely useless to the investigation. And I’m sure they can charge her for the MFH at any point in this game. There is no hurry to the investigators, unless they want to put pressure on her to confess something.
I think poor little Kyron always was always 2nd to his sister-and not in the “baby gets all the attention kind of way”. You can see it in his eyes-even when he is grinning ear to ear-he’s just screaming for approval. TH was embarrassed by his adorable, silly behavior. That beautiful little boy. I think TH was a “good” mother for show but God knows how she treated him when there were no other adult around. She resented having him in her life especially after her daughter was born. He’s a little version of KH and we know she feels about him. She wouldn’t plan to do something herself-she’s a coward. That would only happen in anger, in the heat of the moment. With her self proclaimed temper maybe it did and she got help from someone after the fact? If planned, she got someone else do the work for her. God willing she sent him off with someone else and that someone has only good intentions to care for him. Either way she made him disappear. Period. In her mind he’s “gone” and in a sick way she has “removed” herself from the situation-”directly” responsible not. She will never admit participation and will let things just play out. My prayers are with Kyron. God bless and keep you sweet little boy.

This is a facebook page that updates all through the day about the case and it is pretty pleasant to get quick news or to chat with others.
I just finished watching the press conference and I was very impressed. They both were more forthcoming and I have to admit Kaine was much more likeable. Obviously DY has had some issues with TH way before June 4th, but hating her b/c she possibly stole your husband is very different than potentially thinking one could kill another human
being. I wonder what signs were perking their ugly little heads up above the surface? Kaine was very direct about stating TH’s failure of TWO polys. Additionally, the way in which they spoke makes me believe Terri could have had a more direct role in Kyron’s dissapearance than simply planning such an event. Does anyone feel there could be a potential for TH to have harmed Kiara? I mean I know that she appears to be her jewel, and rightly so. But I wonder if anything has been uncovered that could lead to perhaps any possible abuse issues? I am not trying to be a rumor monger. But if you can be a suspect in two possible attempted murders, whats three? She just appears kind of tired in alot of pictures, but maybe she just is. That and Kaine seemed funny about the questions about her. Obviously he wants to protect her, but he didnt just jump in to say she was doing better than him until a few weird moments later. Is it routine to not have supervised visits with your child if no threats have been made to the child? I ask b/c I recall plenty of cases where the parent accused of killing or attempting to kill their spouse and the children visiting in jail etc. Just curious.

Regarding the sting that didn’t work: If I wanted to (1)cancel the MFH without paying anybody (at least THIS guy if I had moved on to another plan or didn’t have the money), (2)appear innocent and falsely accused, and (3)felt confident the LS couldn’t actually prove anything to LE, I would call 911 and report him just to get rid of him as a threat (all the while thinking I would now be considered a poor victim of an attempted extortion during this very sad time in my life), even if I had no clue it was a sting operation. I have seen a lot of criticism of LE concerning the sting, but I wouldn’t just assume LE did a poor job of setting it up and she guessed it. Even if she did, it’s likely that she’s hyperalert to anything LE does now and she has had a lot of “free” time lately to think about herself and create scenarios in her mind about how to win this “game”. If anything, they may have underestimated her a bit. A person who has done something horribly wrong may still think others should play fair and see nothing incongruent in that.
Kiane is justified in wanting Terri out of his house. But if he and Kiara move back in, won’t they be sitting ducks? Right now they are at a safe house and the address was blacked out in the RO. His comment was interesting: I’m doing this for my daughter because her needs should come before the COMFORT OF AN ADULT. I think partly the addendum is designed to make Terri as uncomfortable as possible, to get her to act in some way.
Maybe Kaine wants to visit the wall of hope at Skyline with Kiara without worrying about running into Terri there. Not that she would, and maybe it’s another attempt to stick the screws to her. Volunteering there was a source of pride for Terri, and maybe he wants that gone too. I’m starting to believe there is a method behind Kaine’s actions.

Is there a ransom involved in this case? The parents are acting very different than they were in the beginning. They seem almost certain Kyron is alive. They certainly are convincing me.
