I freely admit I have caught many a fly in my trache while my yap was left hanging open at some of the legal filings by Jose Baez et al, in this case.
The latest motion to suppress the recorded conversation between convicted felon and “lifer” Robin Lunceford and Jose Baez has insipred the first ever Blink Darwin Award, or, THE BLARWIN.
In his Motion for a protective order to keep the call out of discovery, Esteemed Blarwin recipient, Jose Baez, claims he did not know his conversation was being recorded, and apparently, what type of phone line was being used although he states the call was transferred to his cell phone.

Pun intended. It would be impossible for him to be unaware that Lunceford was not calling from the Lowell Annex. As Baez is aware, inmates at Lowell Annex MUST have the number they are calling on an approved list in advance AND they may only call collect. From Lowell Annex Rules:
Incoming telephone calls for offenders will not be accepted. In the event of family emergency (such as serious illness or death in the family) you may contact the chaplain’s office. The chaplain will notify the offender.
Offenders, except those in administrative confinement, disciplinary confinement, close management or on death row are allowed to make collect telephone calls. Offenders are allowed to place up to 10 telephone numbers on their authorized phone list. If the offender has not placed your number on the list, he or she cannot call you.
Offenders can change their phone list every six months. There are two exceptions to this policy: < ?xml:namespace prefix =”" o />
- If someone already on the list changes his or her phone number, the offender can have the new number placed on the list.
- If an offender gets married, he or she can have the spouse added to the list.
All telephone calls are limited to 10 minutes and are subject to monitoring (except legal counsel).
Of course we all know that correctional facilities cannot monitor calls between inmates and their counsel. Ms. Lunceford is not represented by Mr. Baez, and if he were interviewing her as a prospective witness as he states, he knows full well he needs to pack the car and head on over to Ms. Lunceford’s pad after requesting the visitation officially.
If the first few meatless morsels of the motion don’t grab ya, I offer my personal fave. “It is a felony”. I have news for you Mr. Baez, the State has already listened to it. This would be how it is DISCOVERABLE, or subject to discovery in the first place.
Now, you know Jose copied and pasted some of the States own verbiage from the motion regarding Joe Jordan’s snafu. A surreptitious recording in a two way notification state is not even in the same zip code as a collect call from jail with NO EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY.
Is it me or does anyone else think this was an attempt at circumventing rules at the Pokey Mr. Baez is so famous for?
You know, the ole “Im willing to have her call me collect, bein’ that I’m on the list.. I will transfer the call to you-
-signed, unknown caller to unknown number sometime in early May.
HINT: If you want to claim something is work product you might not want to disclose portions of it in your motion. It just *Might* give the appearance you don’t want the recording out but want to make an accusation publicly that favors your client.
Bottom Line: An inmate placed a collect call, subject to the rules of the facility in which she is incarcerated. As dictated by protocol, the call was monitored and is therefore subject to public release. I for one, look forward to hearing it.
After all, it did earn a Blarwin, and I was saving that all year.

I am quite certain, when this case is over and Casey is tucked away in her LWOP cell, there will be books by the thousands written by everyone who thinks they can put two sentences together. I have no intentions of buying any of them. I’m sure most would not be based on fact and would be full of lies and “1/2″ truths. HOWEVER, If the rumor that Mark Nejames is writing a book is true, I would be forced to reconsider. I would not only buy a book for myself, I would buy several to give as Christmas gifts. If it is only a rumor, then I plead with you Mr. Nejames……….write the world a book that is honest and based on fact. I assure you, we will need ONE.

And yet, kc looked up devious things online, didn’t report her daughter missing for a month, partied during that month, lied to police over and over, the trunk of her car smelled like death… spin away Cindy, nothing covers all the evidence up.
I’d like to know what’s up too with this interview. They never do interviews for nothing so something must be about to come out. They’re so disgusting! Now that I’ve calmed down a little bit……..I finally realized we’ve had it all wrong, all this time. casey WAS investigating – looking for Caylee. The proof is in the party pictures….
The picture of casey wrapped in the American flag: NOT a PARTY costume – it was her Captain Investigator USA uniform. We all know at that age – 2-3 years old – kids love to streak naked through the house after a bath, casey was just waiting for Caylee to run naked through the “anything but clothes” party – where else would you find a missing toddler?
The picture of casey peeing in the parking lot?…….just a ruse. She was really looking for those damn dead squirrels that had the nerve to climb up into her car & make it stink. She saw a squirrel or two run under a parked car and used the excuse of having to pee to see if she could see where the squirrels went – they may have carried poor Caylee off under one of the vehicles in the parking lot.
The picture of casey bowing to the porcelain God? Also more of her investigative prowess……The Tidy Bowl man might’ve wisked Caylee off to parts unknown in the Orlando area sewer system……
So you see – she really was looking for Caylee after all.

I can’t even comment on the A’s on the Today Show this morning. I think they should go on the road and perform at all the comedy clubs across the country. We have a couple of reporters here in Orlando who also want to score big with an exclusive. One is being courted by the defense, and the other is courting the Anthony’s. Be glad you don’t live here.

Hello yes, I agree Cindy’s comments are very disheartening.
I believe even if God came to her and showed her all the evidence, she still would not see it for what it was, and even if she did, she would deny its existence or claim “frame”
IMO There is a mountain of evidence pointing to Casey having done this. There is a mountain range, full of evidence, linking Casey to the crime scene- There are fibers, there is decomposition in the car and on the paper towels, there is the rare heat resistant duct tape found with CAYLEE’S remains- there are trash bags and the laundry/toy bag that had to have come from her home. There is Caylee’s Pooh baby blanket found with Caylee- There is hair and fluid found in the trunk of Casey’s car- hair that IS from Caylee, showing a death band-
This is all raw evidence, meaning the State has not presented its case yet, where all this evidence will be brought together in such a way, that it will be explained by experts, with time lines and weighted against Casey’s actions and words.
Casey is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. There isn’t anyone on the Prosecution’s team that is attacking Casey. They are simply following the Sunshine law and releasing what they have- the evidence is what is attacking Casey.
I have seen nothing released by the Defense that points to Casey’s innocence, however, like the State, they will present their case at trial- I will let the evidence presented by each side, in court, show me the truth of what happened to Caylee, and whether or not Casey is innocent or guilty.
Having said ALL that, as for Cindy saying that there are no fingerprints, fibers, DNA directly linking the death of Caylee to Casey and her family- well, Caylee was gone for 31 days- Casey had cleaned up the trunk, as shown by the paper towels and Caylee’s little body not being there. 31 days head way Casey had to clean up- telling Amy about getting rid of the smell that was “plastered” to the frame of her car.
Then after these 31 days, Cindy and George finally got the car back in their hands- and what did Cindy do? She cleaned it up, Free-breezed it- washed the things inside of it- let it air out- until all that was found was 18 hairs, a stain- and one finger print-
So if Cindy is complaining about lack of physical evidence, she herself holds some of the blame for its absence. Sad but True.
By the way, we shouldn’t forget that Cindy just wrote in a letter to Casey that they have 1 year to change the public’s perception- Cindy IMO is off and running….
I wonder how many potential jurors watched the national Today show and heard Cindy claim that the evidence does not add up and the DNA evidence is flawed? So flawed that this grieving grandma is unsure if if the remains she wears are those of her granddaughter.
There is a marked difference in her demeanor today as opposed to the hearing on the 911 calls.
It hurts my head to watch them, I have yet to see someone ask them a materially relative question in the media.

Blink’s advice is good, and now that I have sat through the interview and feeling EXACTLY as you do, I am not going to send my BP through the roof! Just watch C & G when it comes to taking the stand, they won’t be handled with kid gloves then. But if Cindy truly believes Caylee is still out there why isn’t she spending every last waking moment looking for her? I just compare them to the McCann’s and for me there is no comparison.
