Kyron Horman Missing and Endangered: Grand Jury Meets, Indictment Imminent

Portland, OR- In the case of missing 7-year-old Portland child Kyron Horman, developments today continue to unfold at lightening speed.

During a poorly-kept secret convening of a special grand jury that is in session today, sources inside the investigation believe it’s triers of fact will return an indictment against Terri Horman and possibly one other individual.

It is however, unclear as to whether or not the grand jury is hearing evidence in the alleged murder for hire plot MCSO informed Kaine Horman his wife had master-minded, OR evidence surrounding the disappearance of Kaine and Desiree Young’s son Kyron.

KOIN caught Terri Horman’s friend DeDe Spicher, who was subpoenaed to appear in the proceedings this morning, on video with her attorney, entering the courthouse. Spicher was the subject of a public plea asking her to cooperate with investigators by Kaine Horman and Desiree Young last week.  A neighbor of Spicher’s has confirmed the FBI has been seen removing boxes and unknown bagged material from her residence.

According to several sources, DeDe Spicher, Terri’s roommate  post Kaine’s restraining order,  was working in a garden near the Horman home the day of Kyron’s disappearance when she received a call at approximately 11:15 am. She left abruptly, returning at approximately 1:00 pm. DeDe was unreachable on her cell phone during that time and the property owner became concerned. Spicher is a long time friend and workout companion of Horman’s.

Earlier today, Laura Rackner, Kaine Horman’s Family Law attorney filed a motion to find out where the funds are coming from to foot the bill for Terri Horman’s high profile criminal defense attorney, Stephen Houze.

In Horman’s motion, he is seeking the disclosure of the payments made to Houze, and whether or not it came from marital funds. If it has, Kaine Horman wants half the cash to pay his own legal bills. Kaine Horman alleges that Terri Horman disclosed to a third party that she paid a whopping $350,000 retainer to Houze, however, provided no proof of same in the papers filed today.

In what appears to be a media timing coup, tonight’s episode of Dateline NBC will feature Kaine Horman, Desiree and Tony Young, with interviews and coverage of Kyron’s disappearance.

Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer, Mary Lindstrand, has announced a press conference tomorrow at the MCSO Training Facility, beginning at 2:00 pm PST.

Julie, yes, I am so very sorry about your friend in Tualatin, Oregon, who worked at your laboratory. I know a bit about it from knowing some people in your medical community. Hopefully that DV incident will never be minimized. Your loss is huge and so alarming. I’m sorry.

I once worked with a woman at shift change. I knew she got irritating phone calls at work from her partner at the busiest times. Staff would try to explain and then just hang up after the 30th call. I heard there was a lot of staff counseling for her to be careful. She was involved with some missing money but didn’t get fired. Bosses went to her house even. Rarely I worked with her and she’d talk food/recipes and home remodeling projects with me (but it sounded as if she idolized me and was more wishful and less able to accomplish her goals..)

And then the sad day came. Her partner shot her. Then, as her middle-school daughter came to investigate, he shot himself in the head in front of her. She demonstrated to me how he sat on the bed, hunched over, and applied the gun to his temple.

DV is so amorphous…It only takes shape after damage is done, it seems, for us outsiders. Forums like this help us stay aware and give us both the resources and courage to speak up. I still think that lovefraud.com helps understand the sociopaths among us. Stopping the effing conduct of them is another thing.

Sheila, seeing TH in crosshairs (sorta) is alarming if you’re afraid of guns. I see that forum as a vehement, excited expression of anger toward this missing child incident. Be fearful of the crosshairs you don’t see.

Sue, July 31, 1:22 a.m. you are one of the good thinkers. In our culture of quick-fix solutions, we have to steadily work at processing the information we can glean as facts and the in-between-the-lines intuition. Please give this your best effort. We need you so much.
I agree that the silence is outrageous. The crime is outrageous.
Let’s cry *outrageous* to fuel our work for justice for Kyron.

annla, I was so glad that Kaine got emotional and angry today also. what he said really hit home. Hard to see how there could be anyone who has any info on Kyron and is keeping quiet, knowing and feeling these parents pain and grief. It astounds and horrifies me that people can be so evil. *still hoping for Kyron*

When I last posted I noticed a five hour time difference. It seemed strange. Tonight the comment by Mom3.0 before mine says 2:51 am. My computer clock right now says 10:55 PM. That is a four hour difference.

I feel so very bad for Kaine and Desiree. The dragging out of this is heart wrenching for everyone.

I don’t believe that people are afraid of LE or getting hurt. I believe they are afraid that Kaine and Desiree will catch wind of it and call a press conference to implore that person to co-operate. IMO LE is telling them very little info.

And if this is the case, why are they going against LE? Is one leading and the other one following?

I can’t help but think of the video where cindy anthony was talking to the fbi and he was saying STOP talking to the media you are making things worse (parphrasing) and the A’s just kept yapping like they knew more than LE. Plus it seemed like they got enjoyment out of being heard.

Ever notice when they are with LE in press conferences, they are reading pre-approved statements?

I feel as though kaine did attempt to open the box a little regarding looking at other conversation, people, and places. vs. just terri, dede and oregon. In the past they were always very specific that terri has all the answers, IMO this has not helped find kyron, the public just focused more of the research on terri.

Its late, I hope I made sense.

I was listening to desiree and tony again up in medford. Desiree said she meets half way to pick up the boys, and tony said that he was taking kyron fishing. 1. Does terri take both boys half way? 2. And has there ever been anything mentioned about quinn going to medford and fishing that day? Or just Kyron that weekend?

There have been a lot of assumptions about TH & DDS’s relationship. However, the more I read about these two women, the more they remind me of a couple of my coworkers. The one woman is 20 yrs older than the other and has worked for the company over 40 yrs. The younger woman has worked for the company for ~15 yrs. In some ways the women are opposites, but both are very controlling – a combination that more than likely would cause them to clash. Yet, they are inseparable at work (I’ve never heard them speak of socializing outside of work) and they even call each other when one is on vacation.

Both women are married (well, the older woman is widowed now), and there is nothing to indicate that their relationship with each is physical. I think of their relationship as symbiotic; I’ve often wondered if their unlikely friendship is based upon the realization that “two can do more evil than one.” The younger woman is very narcissistic and manipulative. I think she quickly recognized that she could have a lot more influence in the company by befriending the person with the most seniority. The older woman has been in the same position in the company since she started, so no doubt she feels insignificant and unfulfilled. I guess the younger woman makes her feel important, so she is supportive of the younger woman even when the younger woman berates other employees, especially those experiencing personal difficulties. The two women seem to enjoy the suffering of others. The older woman isn’t as openly denigrating as the younger woman, but mutters berating comments under her breath, or at a distance but within hearing range. Both women also berate employees who are congenial toward the current target of their hostility (I once earned a spot on their “bitter enemy” list for RECEIVING a gift from one of their targets, and the younger woman held a grudge against me for WEEKS). The women also have to do everything together, and they insist on being first in everything. The younger woman has even spread lies within the company to set the older woman against other employees, then dismissed it as a prank when exposed. Although the older woman is often short-tempered with other coworkers, her cohort can do nothing wrong in her eyes.

As I mentioned in another post, I have a very limited background in Psychology (and it is mostly in Child Psych and Psycholgy of the Mentally Disabled), but I feel certain the younger of my two coworkers has a personality disorder b/c some of the things she does & says are so irrational (but she considers herself exceptionally smart). I increasingly get the impression that TH is much like her. The similarities began to sink in a couple of weeks ago when a package arrived at the office for the younger coworker. In large lettering on the box were the words “body building.” It was all I could do to keep from running out of the building screaming. I later learned that the woman is going to the gym daily to work out. This is a bit unsettling under the circumstances, although I can’t imagine either of the coworkers committing a major crime (I do suspect one or both have stolen office supplies). If either did commit a crime, though, it would likely be the younger woman and, yes, I believe the older woman would cover for her if she knew or suspected her cohort was guilty, if only by remaining silent.

I noted well Truthteller’s theory on how someone who once trained for a marathon could gain so much weight so quickly. The same mechanism could apply to TH, too. Both DDS & TH lost weight and conditioned themselves in preparation for a single competitive event. Most people who take up running, weight-lifting, & other sports do so as a hobby -it’s not something they do for a specific purpose & then abandon after achieving that goal. Herein is another parallel to the younger of my two aforementioned coworkers. She has used other strategies in the past to gain weight, she once tried to quit smoking, she at one time ridiculed coworkers who ate healthy and then went on a health kick herself when her older cohort was placed on a diabetic diet. All of these efforts were short-lived but involved a lot of showboating, like she only sought the attention.

I can envision a symbiotic relationship between TH & DDS, in which DDS promotes TH’s lies as truth. I’m not sure, though, what DDS would gain from the relationship. I can imagine both women engaging in various short-lived activities that focus attention on themselves, and perhaps even inflicting distress on others to revel in their ability to exert control. If TH committed a crime, I could imagine DDS readily helping to cover it up; and, as long as the women were convinced there was no convicting evidence against them, they would continue to hold back. People in a symbiotic relationship could be described as enablers.

Even if TH previously exhibited characteristics of a personality disorder, I can understand why no one suspected she might be capable of committing a crime since there are many people with personality disorders who never commit a crime. I know there has already been discussion and disputation on this website about personality disorders and sociopaths, but DDS has entered the equation since then and more information about TH has emerged. I am interested in the views of those with more extensive backgrounds in Psychology/ Psychiatry. Please be tolerant of those with opposing views. TY

What I found odd was that Kaine said Terri and Dede were not close, and he had only seen her at the house once in the last 6 months.

I have no idea what it means, if anything, in this equation, but I would also seek to understand a psych opinion about an “exercise fanatic” as Dede sees herself, that appears to be overweight continually.

Aibohphobia, Harry Oakes is using generic cadaver scent, because he hasn’t been given a scent item. He says without a scent item, he can only look for a cadaver. If he had Kyron’s scent, he could search for a live Kyron. That’s why it makes no sense not to give him one. What would it hurt? Isn’t the goal to find Kyron?

    Ridiculous, unresearched claptrap.

    Madam B,

Level with us, as a mom, wouldn’t you use radar from a kayak to find your lost child?

Probably an unfair question to me, as I have background and contacts in this area.

I was addressing the contradictions in the statements as it refers to the k9 specificity.

A cadaver dog is not ever using a live scent, and while I am at it, some of the best in class trained k9′s have serious difficulty alerting to cadaver scent if nitrates are in the soil. Y’all know who uses nitrates in soil, right?

But to your general question, I would do anything to find my child, including taking the advice of LE.

I will say that it is not an unusual phenomona that parents of a missing child which they feel to be alive, or are desperate to believe same, resist alternative search strategies.

Tac channels are used to run major incidents. If a Police Department has a major car crash, a hostage incident, a shooting, etc. the Officers on the call go to a Tac Channel which is devoted to that specific call. That way they don’t tie up the radio with their traffic for the call and can talk more freely while dealing with the incident.

@Nancys, The website where I read about a possible sighting of Kyron was on scaredmonkeys.com. I tried to find the discussion this morning on that site, but I didn’t see it. I listened for a while on the police scanner and I did hear dispatchers mention the possible sighting and a description of a green or gold vehicle near the area where Kyron was last seen.
I’m sorry I don’t have the link to the discussion. Maybe it was removed. I don’t understand how to navigate the scaredmonkeys website.

@Newsatfive, as far as the $350,000 legal fees goes, I heard an interview of Kaine and Desiree where Kaine says that TH was vocal about how much the retainer was for her lawyer. LE also found out through TH’s texts to MC that her retainer fees were $350,000.

As far as TH and possible drug usage, I was only speculating. I saw her bodybuilding picture and to me it looked unnatural, but that’s just my humble opinion. Combine that with her dui arrest, and I was able to imagine a very unhappy, unbalanced person. I know that was 5 years ago, but now, KH has said that TH suffered from p.p.d..
I could imagine someone like TH who might have been depressed, unhappy with her body, could turn to drugs and alcohol. All of this is only speculation on my part after reading all of the statements, hearing interviews, and reading news articles.
I could be completely wrong. I just wish I had a magic crystal ball that would show me how to bring Kyron back home.

    Two things:
    1. Unintended consequences: Kaine’s statement in the presser yesterday pleading w. people to set aside any fear of coming forward. Well, I fear that’s realistic. And is the unintended consequence of the relentless media pursuit by KH-DY-TY, that has gone so far as to call out witnesses and virtually threaten them with civil lawsuits. If you had, as he discussed, a small piece of info. you would have to weigh the potential cost to yourself/family, etc. I’d personally consider the risks/benefits carefully.

    2. Fallout: Skyline’s first day of classes for students is Sept. 8. How soon! Personally, until this case is resolved to the point that I could view a face behind bars and other “official” evidence reassuring me my kids would be safe at Skyline, I would change my life and mortgage my future to send my kid elsewhere. I mean WAY more than LE saying this was and isolated incident and no need to worry. Or the schl saying we’ll call you after your kid fails to show up. If enough people think like me, creates an administrative problem for schl. system

I believe that TH’s bodybuilding activities, though in 2005, remains relevant because it contributes to a description of her character and with the new lessons we just got about this bizarre world, it could fit in to Kyron’s disappearance, drug use, money coming from unknown sources, and hanging around really weird people. Like B says, in reference to DD, though I argue it applies to TH as well, there’s much self-professed ado about “hitting the gym,” yet these 2 women’s bodies don’t reflect that. If nothing else, it speaks to lack of personal insight or delusion, and supports some personality pathology. It’s just another thing that doesn’t add up.

  23. ChiaPet517 says:

Blink, I know you said Kaine says he only saw DDS at the house once in 6 months, but what the heck, he wasn’t there during the day and doesn’t seem to know much about TH’s activities during the day, understandably. Lots of husbands don’t know EXACTLY where their wives go and what they do during the day when they are SAHM’s. She could easily have been with DDS lots of times, driven to her house, or met her for lunches or at a gym, not to mention there could have been countless phone calls, e-mails or text messages between the two as well as FB. And if they really wanted to plot something together, they would maybe have wanted to keep their get-togethers under wraps on purpose. Maybe I missed it, but do we know for sure that LE DOESN’T know more than we do about how much they may have been together?

What I think is really weird is DD smiling/smirking at the cameras. What the hell has she got to smile about? First and foremost, there’s a little boy missing in all of this. Would that make one smile? And even if she doesn’t care about the Kyron situation, secondarily I know I wouldn’t be smiling if I had to hire/pay for an attorney for something like this. They’re EXPENSIVE. I have a decent job and that would still be devastating to my finances. Where do these people come up with all this money? They act like it grows on trees in Portland. And they act like they just don’t care. And didn’t the police raid her house with a search warrant and take a bunch of stuff out? Ok it was either her stuff or stuff that belonged to TH that was stashed there…either way, having people rake through your house and take whatever they want….also no reason to smile. I don’t get this whole thing.

I guess I seriously need to get over the assumption that people are going to exhibit normal behavior anymore. Because so many don’t.

I didn’t take JustJill’s post as a tarnish on all female bodybuilders, just the “underbelly” as she stated. Everything seems to have an underbelly or a darkside, even the most noble of professions. I admire many of those female bodybuilders for their tremendous display of discipline – especially the ones who do it long term. And NO to the snickers bar = tremendous discipline in my book. Try not to compare anything you read here about bodybuilding to your noble friend’s way of life. The gym membership seems to be the ONLY thing TH and the other creatures hiding in the underbelly had in common with your friend. Peace to you.

She probably thinks it’s “insane” for LE to search her home and confiscate material. She knows she doesn’t have any relevant info regarding Kyron’s disappearance. For all of Terri’s strange behaviour, she appears to have had enough “discipline” to carry out a well planned kidnapping of her step-son. Why she did it..resentment towards Kyron plus no bond with the child and strong motivation to remove him from her life. What she did with him is anybody’s guess. LE needs a body or a confession.

  26. Kim says:

@Nancy S- The potential Kyron sighting was reported on FaceBook. A woman said she saw a caucasian boy who looked like Kyron playing in a fenced garden area behind Ockley Green Middle School with an African American male in his 50′s. The boy stared at the woman and did not tell her his name. The AA man can over quickly when he saw her speaking with the boy. She asked how old “his son” was and the man did not say, instead, he said “we have to go now”. The AA man is a known homeless man in the area and was kind to the boy. Last night, police scanners indicated that police had located a AA man with the exact description as indicated on FB. Haven’t heard anything since.

The school lot looks to be in a residential area…..so not sure anyone would actually be “hiding” Kyron in plain site, but stranger things have happened.

There were also 2 additional confusing statements on the police scanner last night re: Kyron sightings. One said he was in a Gold Sebring and one said a Green or Touquise Dodge. Did not hear anymore about this either.

    http://www.facebook.com/pages/Missing-Kyron-Horman/125336750831264?v=wall&story_fbid=138775982819908

It was interesting to follow as it was unfolding. Multiple FB posters called the Tip Line and police. As police got close to the area they mentioned people on FB were listening to the scanner and following their every move! Only in America and only in 2010 would this ever happen!

It is odd that a caucasian boy who looks like Kyon would be with an AA homeless man. Again, the homeless man is said to be known to the area and harmless. Facebookers are speculating Kyron may have been dumped off somewhere and the homeless people took him in.

Whatever is happening or whomever this kid is, he probably should be found and offered assistence. Reports were that the boy was not with the AA guy when police located him and questioned him.

About DeDe smiling at the cameras: Sometimes I laugh inappropriately when I’m nervous. Once my sister-in-law was really stressed out giving a party for her mom (my MIL) and her husband took off instead of helping like he said he would. She started ranting and raving and I got very uncomfortable and started laughing. Then she was mad at me for laughing. I never meant to laugh.

DeDe is definitely portrayed as one of the villains here, mostly because is friends with Terri she won’t talk. But if she’s been told by her attorney – don’t say a word – and has no other way to connect to the camera or public, what facial expression should she employ? If she was crying, everyone would say she feels sorry for herself. If she frowned or looked down, she feels guilty. So she smiles and she’s smug. See, even Desiree thinks she’s smug, so that’s it. Face it people, she’s the villain, so no matter what she does, there’s some demonic motive behind it, which there may or may not be. From what I’ve seen and read about her, I’m not impressed either, but can’t we do better? JMO

On the HO controversy: If my kid was missing I would do everything LE says to do lest they get annoyed with me and start to lose interest or focus in the case. If I was suspected and my attorney told me to shut up I would do that too lest the attorney bail on me.

Cadavor dogs would also have trouble hitting on a decomposing body if lime is used to disguise the scent of the decomposing body. Lime will also speed up the decomp process. The higher the concentration of lime, the faster the decomp process. Flies would also not be attracted to the decomposing body if lime is thrown on the body – thus not drawing attention to the dead body. A hole is dug, the body thrown in with lime, cover up the hole and chances are a dog will not be able to detect the odor of decomp. Lime is another product used by “landscapers”. It is also available for the public.

I have a hard time with the scenario that Kyron is stashed someplace. The people holding him would eventually be found or come forward due to the enormous pressure of this case. Too much of a chance for exposure to the perp. No body – no crime seems to be the motto in this cruel crime. I hope I am wrong.

  32. Karen says:

NancyS says: “…a person that is trying to bulk up has to gain weight in order to build muscle.”

While a person with Bulimia goes on eating binges, they purge immediately afterwards so they would tend not to gain weight. People with anorexia grow progressively thinner b/c they restrict the amount of calories they consume excessively. No matter how thin they are, their body image is distorted so they see a fat person reflected in the mirror. Although someone with anorexia or bulimia will often exercise compulsively to lose weight, they would not bulk up as they do not consume enough protein and are burning off more calories than they ingest. They would be constantly weak and tired.

Exercising alone will not build muscle. A person must consume enough protein in their diet. And consuming large amounts of protein will not build muscle without exercise. Body builders, weight-lifters and others trying to build muscle mass typically use protein supplements, but if they do not exercise sufficiently in relation to the amount of protein they consume, those extra calories are converted to fat and are stored in fat cells, not muscle.

That’s why it’s alarming that TH & DDS spend so much time at the gym and are self-proclaimed fitness buffs, yet both are overweight. They were indeed fit at one time, but it seems they lost weight for a brief time to become competitive, then afterwards re-gained the weight. As Truthteller pointed out, if someone stops training but continues to consume the same amount of calories as when they were exercising, that person will gain weight – in the form of fat and not muscle mass.

So, what did TH & DDS do at the gym? Did they buy drugs there? Was it a “pick-up” place? Was it purely social (a place where TH could be free of the kids while spending quality time with other adults)? Was the gym initially a place for TH & DDS to showcase their physiques? Maybe their body images are distorted such that they fail to recognize the changes in their bodies since their competitive days (hence, TH’s sexting). Did they really spend as much time at the gym as they claimed? Do I understand correctly that TH & DDS did not belong to the same gym?

Although KH hadn’t seen DDS at the Horman home much, that doesn’t mean DDS wasn’t often there during the day. It seems there were things going on at the house that KH wasn’t aware of (such as the hiring of LS), and KH certainly wasn’t familiar with everyone in TH’s life. DDS & TH may have even met elsewhere during the day. Most likely, there was something going on in TH’s life that hasn’t surfaced yet. Was the gym just a cover? And is Kyron’s disappearance somehow related to that activity? I do hope there will be answers to these questions soon and our precious little man will be found!

Re: jenjen’s post – I’m sorry about your medical condition. Yes, I was aware of this being a side effect of testosterone usage in women. I felt like in my two previous posts, I was already bordering on a topic that some might find offensive, so I didn’t choose to include that. You are soooo right about the side effects your doctor mentioned too. My ex’s former girlfriend, an FBB, used to shave her face every single day – ICK!! Plus, the testosterone deepened her voice and caused the problem that you have as well. Yet, she brought in the money with her session work. I, for one, refuse to compromise my already precarious health putting these horrible drugs in my body.

In this Associated Press article, the reporter says

“Terri Horman has not been charged. Except for a few passing words to a television reporter, she has made no public comments”

Does anyone have a link to those few passing words? Is this reporter referring to her “everything’s good” comment at the house? Or is there more somewhere? WG must know.

Chia, no offense but I am one of those that does the wrong thing at the wrong time. I will laugh when someone falls or chokes. I will go to their aid in a split sec but I will also laugh at them. I laugh when nervous or smile to keep from crying sometime. If you go to GLP where her cousin posts he addresses the smiling issue. He says she has a very high IQ. She should use that IQ and do the right thing now!

I read that the amount “$350,000″ was taken from a text or email from Terri to Michael Cook, observed by LE, then the information passed to Kaine.

I read that too but didn’t post because I searched for the link and didn’t find it. I guess if we both saw it exactly the same way, then it existed somewhere. Since Kaine’s attorney said Terri stated it in a written communication, the information would have had to come to Kaine from LE or a “friend”. If someone other than LE gave him the information directly, there might (although not necessarily) have been a copy or a statement attached to the court papers.

If she was telling MC (and possibly others) for sympathy or asking/hoping to borrow money from them, and it’s not true, it still reflects on her character and her efforts to use people in some way. I think it’s good for her to learn that every time she opens her “electronic mouth” to text or email, she will be held accountable.

I am seriously hoping that she uses so much money on attorney fees, she exhausts all her sources of money for bail – if a judge sets any.

    —————
    @Chiapet517,
EXACTLY. There is a little boy missing and a family is grieving and needs help. They need clues. They need answers. They need her to say something. I wanted to jump at the screen and rip that f-in smirk right off her fat ugly face. That feeling has subsided after hearing that she is cooperating with LE. I hope that is the case.

    Excuse me Karen?

before you ATTEMPT to educate me on bolemia/anorexia show me your past. I would NOT write it to Blink if it was not a FACT.

As an anorexic/bolemic (notice it is DUAL) you don’t have to purge by throwing up or starving yourself. You can also use excessive work outs, running, swimming dancing, anything to burn off calories.

Please pass over my posts if you don’t personally know what you are talking about please… thank you.

Also with a dual eating disorder you do go back and forth with your weight and it goes back and forth quickly and to extreme.
Now I bit on your VERY lenghthy post and took more time than I wanted to on this subject, that is why I kept it brief and not a summary for Blink. If she wanted more information, she knows I will give it to her, been on this board for quite awhile now….

Karen- you are newer, and I apparently missed the personalization of your post toward Nancy S, a longtime reader and contributor. I would simply ask that if we disagree, we do so without malice of any kind.

There is always the scroll and roll. I do not wish to get into the “blink has her faves”. I am sick to death of hearing that. My “faves” are those who follow my very simple rules:

Dissenting opinions welcome if submitted respectfully.

Anything stated as fact must have a source.

    NEVER attack a fellow poster.

Attacking a victim or their family will never see the light of day.

Anything else I think of later or forgot.

This may actually be my fault for posing the question. Apollies.

That has always a been my thought as well.

  44. aibohphobia says:

@ Jeff D.– no, you didn’t scare me away, thanks for worrying though.
I appreciate that most here at BOC are very respectful posters.
I have no knowledge of how search and rescue dogs work, other than what I have read on this case, which is very little. I believe I would do anything in my power short of ruining the investigation or endangering my missing child if it were me. I have felt personally that I would sneak him a scent article so as not to rock any boats.
But another thing I believe is possible, neither Kaine nor Desiree know anything about searchers other than those sent out by LE on Kyron’s behalf. I don’t think they have even heard of Harry Oakes.
I am glad you picked up on my name being a palindrome…

Blink also mentioned to learn from Roy Kronk. I have to admit I haven’t watched that case as closely as I have Kyron’s. But he was the man who found the body of Caylee Anthony.
I can see he has been accused of everything from committing the crime to abusing women. I don’t know if he has done anything to muck up that case. But if LE had been able to find the body then a conviction would probably be a slam dunk.

    Word Girl, hi. Here’s a link to OregonLive.com (June 25);

Approached earlier in the day at her home in Northwest Portland, she had denied a report by KPTV 12/Fox TV news that her husband, Kaine Horman, and 18-month-old daughter, Kiara, had moved out.

“Everything’s good,” she said, giving a thumbs up. “We heard that rumor. It’s just a rumor that needs to be squelched. Everything’s fine.”

    ———————————————————————

I checked the archive at KPTV and couldn’t find any film footage of Terri making that comment. I’m guessing the camera operator didn’t catch it. Because if they had we would be seeing that clip repeatedly, just as we saw the footage of Casey Anthony wearing the white sunglasses she bought at Target with money stolen from her friend.

  46. Whaazupwitchu says:

Whatever happened to the idea Blink mentioned about staff (or employees of school) not returning after June 4? And remember there was school for at least a week afterwards? Does that mean LC only? How would we find that out, any Skyline School parents out here in the Blink Gallery?

Just wondering if anyone thinks by the press release yesterday that LE and the parents are not so sure to what degree of involvement TH has in Kyron? They must have gotten some kind of new information this week because the way I heard them speak it seemed like they were thinking a little different.

Prayers and thoughts are with Kyron, his brothers and his sister.

Police search for man who grabbed 7-year-old in schoolyard
Attempted abduction puts Beach neighbourhood on high alert
Published On Thu May 27 2010

    Kristin Rushowy
    Education Reporter

Parents in the Beach remain on high alert as police search for a man who tried to grab a 7-year-old boy from a schoolyard just minutes after the final bell.

The boy managed to fight off his attacker and run to his mother, who was at the front of the school. He was able to give police a detailed description of the man.

“He’s a trouper, he’s doing fine,” his mother told the Star. “I was with him through all of the interviews (with police), and I said, ‘I’m so glad you’re okay’ and that kind of thing. We’re happy that he’s safe.”

The incident happened around 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Williamson Road Public School. It has caused panic among the many families who live in the area, which is teeming with young children.

“Given the neighbourhood, and given it was the schoolyard, it’s assumed to be a safe place,” said school council co-chair Tim Pinos, who has two children at Williamson. “And I think 99.9 per cent of the time it is, but we have to be vigilant,” he said, adding the school makes streetproofing part of the curriculum for
all students and that everything was reviewed with them on Thursday.
