Tiffany Hartley emerged on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 yesterday after her 16th hour of interviews at the Mexican Consulate in McAllen, Texas.

Hartley recounted the events of September 30, ending with the alleged murder of her husband David. Ms. Hartley gave both new testimony and confirmed her previous statements according to reports from the Mexican Attorney General and Ms. Hartley herself, without the presence of an attorney.

According to several statements from Hartley, David was shot “off his jet ski” while the couple was returning from the Mexican side of Falcon Lake, where they briefly took pictures of the historic church on Old Guerrerro. Neither David Hartley nor his Sea Doo watercraft have been recovered.

One of the most baffling aspect of the case, is the fact that Ms. Hartley claims the pair were shot at at as they were driving their jet skis away from alleged “pirates” they both waved a friendly hello to, seconds before.  Tiffany Hartley was uninjured in the attack, and her jet ski was not hit in the gunfire. Although media was alerted last week that tests on a possible blood source on Tiffany’s life vest were due back that afternoon, we were quickly told there would be no updates about the possible blood evidence at this time.

This afternoon, blinkoncrime Editor spoke with Chuck Smith, owner Smith Marina USA about specifics of the Sea Doo RXT.

..Your correct, the RXT has a chip in the starter that is electronically programmed to “match” the owners lanyard key. If he was wearing the lanyard, whether attached to his vest, or in some cases the arm, and he was thrown off the ski, it activates a kill switch and will not start without the key it is programmed to without a factory reprogramming, which of course, one would need the paperwork for. In short, no matter what, they would need his key to start it.

Blink Question: What if he was not attached to the key, and he was shot and flew off the unit “in motion”, this would not shut the engine off, correct?

CS: Correct. The ski would continue in the direction the handlebars were pointing and continue to throttle in that direction.

Blink: How hard are these models to sink?

CS: Virtually impossible. I have never actually heard of, or seen one, sink to the bottom. The way the Coast Guard standards are now with these, they have hulls similar to boats.

Blink: Could enough bullet holes sink it? What about if the contiuum– could that have caused it to flip? Could anyone right it?

CS: No, not unless we are talking morter rounds. I guess in theory an automatic weapon could put enough holes cut it in half if that was the goal, but again, your still going to see shards of fiberglass all over the water, remnants similar to a boat accident or crash. Again, under these circumstances, I don’t see how he could flip it, but if it were, again, harder to see because the bottom is black, but any SAR or Coast Guard deployment knows what abnormalities to look for on the water surface. It would be next to impossible to “right it” in deep water. It would be more likely they would drag it to shallow water.

Blink: Is this chop-shoppable?

CS: Absolutely. There is some after factory devices, similar to lo jack, but the engine and parts are expensive and could easily be sold that way.

Blink: He was wearing a PFD I. In your opinion is that keeping him afloat until he is located if he was left in the water?

CS: Absolutely, unless it was removed, or he and the vest were removed from the water, he would be floating, yes.

As announced this morning on Dana Pretzer commentary, Blink, Editor In Chief of blinkoncrime.com will be discussing the Hartley case this evening live at 9PM EST on Scared Monkeys The Dana Pretzer Show.

    Grief counselors are no longer taught that the stages of grief occur in a specific order. People go in and out of various stages of grieving. I have worked as a grief counselor and Mrs. Hartley’s demeanor appears to be very sober and sad. She should not have to become an television exhibitionist and cry, moan, and rip her hair to prove to voyeurs that she is grieving.

    It is disturbing to see the concept of The Grief Police arising in America. Soon the concept of The Joy Police will develop. Everyones’ wedding photos will be scrutinized. Photos of parents holding their new infants will be closely examined. Marriages will be announced as shams and babies will be pronounce unwanted because the photographed participants were not smiling broadly with extremely toothy grins.

    Whose jurisdiction was it? Who needed to be called in from the very beginning??

    The Alleged crime happened on Falcon Lake, which is federal land, governed by the National Park Service. I live on a similar lake, and I can attest to the fact that when a 911 call is made, the dispatcher knows this is a Federal case, and dispatches FEDERAL officers to the lake. The Sheriff’s office would not have been contacted. First the Park Service, who would have then contacted the Border Patrol, ICE, ATF, DEA, and FBI. There is no shortage of federal agents anywhere on the border these days. With these agencies readily available, why would anyone at all bother with the local Sheriff’s office?

    I suspect TH contacted the Sheriff’s office directly PRIOR to calling 911.

    It’s been years since I’ve ridden jet skis but when we fell off it circled you till you straightened it up and or throttled again. Isn’t it still the same. His jet ski would have stayed right where he fell off or just a few feet from. Yank the key out, same thing happens. I would not have left my husband bullets or no bullets. One can lean over in one of those without falling over and grab him by his vest near the shoulder. He would have been floating and she could have tried something. You got time to flip him over then drag his azz and gas it! I’m gonna tell on myself now…when we were younger I would let my cousin hold on to my leg and go as fast as I could. So dangerous and we were so stupid. Not too much could happen but I could’ve hurt her arm and run into and over her. We don’t speak anymore, maybe I shoulda run her over! Just kidding!

    Arcy Duran-Bernal seems to be one of about a dozen aliases used by/for a woman in her late 30s in South Texas. Seems like more than typical, but lots of people (especially women) show up on the internet with a variety of names and nicknames, etc., over the course of their lives. Unusual names can actual make this worse, with incorrect spellings and false assumptions.

    To find this info, I guessed names for which “Arcy” might be a nickname. Don’t want to put any of the additional info here, since this seems to be a real person.

    I have a question about polygraph tests. Please forgive me if this has already been addressed here.

    I was wondering, if someone, like Tiffany, has concocted an untruthful story about her husband being murdered, etcetera, and she has gone to LE, her family and friends, and all kinds of media to tell this story over and over again, will that affect how the polygraph detects untruthful statements? If she creates this whole scenario in her head that she keeps telling everyone, even if it’s completely made up, will that show up as a lie? And what if she’s a pathological liar?

    At this point, is there much value in having her take a polygraph test after so long? I doubt she’ll take one now, anyway, if she hasn’t yet.

    What’s more, the P300 is vulnerable to what scientists call “confounding factors.” For instance, if the mock-terrorists in the study were raised in Houston, which was also the location of the attack, the researchers would not know for sure what was causing the P300 spike. This makes the test particularly unreliable once details of a crime or plot have been released to the public. Anyone who then read about a planned attack in Houston would have a spike at the name. The same false positive would be triggered if, say, a picture of a murder weapon had been released to the press and then was shown to a suspect.

    Andy- Hello thank you for sharing your insights.

    No-one grieves in the same way- I agree-

    IMO it is not Tiffany’s perceived lack of grief that has people calling foul- at least not by itself- it is her attitude, her demeanor in the 911 call-in her interviews- her never-ending/always changing story and almost every detail of the story changing…ADDED to her aloof way of grieving -the-fast memorial- her word choices “need to move on” ….her I will “always and forever” wear these (wedding) rings until “I decide I need to take them off”- ect ect

    and most importantly – all of the things that Blink and others have researched and pointed out that make Tiffany’s account of the attack/shooting and her getaway questionable-listen to the radio interview for a more indepth analysis of exactly why Blink and others are saying:

    “Look at the totality of the improbabilities -it needs further scrutiny”

    “I can’t say what she says happened didnt happen- but I can say with a reasonable degree of certainty that, what she’s saying happened did not happen in that way”

    It may be that Tiffany has changed her story for innocent reasons.
    What amazes me is that most took Tiffany’s story as the truth, from the get go- She was involved, by her own account, in an international attack that left her husband dead- She said at first that the pirates just let her go-

    What if they let her go with a promise of -you better not say what happened- what if they took David- prisoner?- what if he is alive and being tortured? What if they are blackmailing her? What if they want her to spy on her country? Tiffany may be too scared to tell the whole truth- maybe that is why her story and most of the details of that story continue to change..

    Maybe she has done nothing wrong- and she has been warned to keep quiet- or her beloved husband dies-

    It is LE’s job to find out the truth of what happened- not only for David’s sake, but for Tiffany’s sake, for the family’s sake, for the sake of Mexico and for America’s sake as well.

    Regardless if her grieving process seems normal or not- there are problems with Tiffany’s account/s.
    I believe these discrepancies are the reason people are questioning her behaviors- – IMO you don’t have to be Columbo or LE to realize that Tiffany’s own accounts of what happened are off- which makes people spotlight Tiffany- further scrutinizing her behaviors ect- in an effort to find out the whole truth.

    Your October 22, 2010 at 10:46 pm comment was very informative- thank you- So if I am understanding correctly 911 would have dispatched the appropriate authorities- which in this case would have been Federal officer’s- So- how did the Sheriff take charge of this investigation? Why didnt the federal officers arrive and take the Sheriff off the case immediately- securing the evidence ect?- Exactly when did the actual “investigation” with Federal officers begin?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    That’s an excellent point, Andy. Nowadays, we tend to think of the grieving process as an amalgam of various emotions/cognitions/physical symptoms, rather than one of discrete stages. Although there are certain aspects of grieving that are universal, the process is unique to the individual.
    How many young widows behave like she did, does? As a Grief Counselor you have to say her activities are a bit strange.
    I would be interested on your take on her? And please don’t coddle me with “everybody grieves differently”.
    —————————–
    Sott, AWESOME theory. He could be in Aruba if he’s not dead! Or, the name Arcy could really be “RC” which could mean…IDK, Royal Caribbean? Maybe he’s at a location they went to on a cruise previously. But he didn’t necessarily get there by way of a cruise this time as he would have had to show ID. But then, how else would you travel without ID unless you had a fake one? Of course if the real Arcy shows up, this blows the whole thing. Still, why would ANYONE as a new FB friend send a picture of a coconut with a smiley face to a woman who has just lost her husband in a gruesome murder? That’s kind of like saying, sorry you’re so sad but I’m having a great time! Now that doesn’t make much sense, does it?
    If by chance David IS alive somewhere, of course he’s grown a beard, grown out and/or dyed his hair, etc., wears hats a lot, and he most likely had a friend or friends who planned this and helped him get the jetski out of the water and drive away and hide it, then travel to somewhere else, probably NOT on U.S. soil which makes it harder to find him. But he’s still a big guy and could be spotted sooner or later. There should be photos of him everywhere in Mexico, South America, the Caribbean, etc. as a missing person never found. All of course MOO.
  18. ChiaPet517 says:
    Ok one more comment about the Arcy Bernal-Duran thing and I’ll stop. First off, the fact that this person identifies as a female could just be a throw-off. Unless she really turns up.
    @Dee I was reading your post about the Barbie on the “R/C” Jetski and I was thinking OMG Arcy / RC. Could the name Arcy be a signal about the jetski AND where David is? Far-fetched okay. But IF David IS still out there somewhere by chance alive, and this was all a plan, he would HAVE TO have a pre-planned way to signal to Tiffany. What would have been in that plan? I guess the real problem with this is, Tiffany is NEVER going to be able to make a move without someone watching her, for probably the next five years at least. But maybe they didn’t think of that. Maybe they really just thought her story would be believed. IDK, if she collects insurance money, what’s to keep her from just changing her mind and saying, the heck with David wherever he is…I’ve got the money. MOO
    Okay…I see so many “obvious” tidbits per the comments from the unidentifed witness…that have me pondering several scenerios (esp in the CNN link.) Wow. This transcript helped me with several of the gray areas I was talking about the other day. (TONS of RED FLAGS! ESP POLITICS AT END)
    Where were you on the lake? Were you on the U.S. side? Were you on the Mexican side? And at what point did you see Tiffany Hartley?
    UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I was actually on the U.S. side. I was out and about making my weekly rounds.
    This time around, it was my second weekly round. I usually make one. And I was just checking out the property, making sure my plants get enough water and what have you, when I noticed there was this boat behind a jet ski.
    And I said, well, it’s a nice day out there in the lake for boating and stuff like that. People are having fun.
    I had just gotten in from work, and I was, like I said, watering the plants when I see this jet ski start coming towards me. I noticed the boat behind it turned around and left the area.
    And as that boat gets closer, I can see the lady in distress looking back over her shoulders, and she looked frantic, sobbing. And she asked me — the first words out of her mouth were like, “Can you speak English?”
    And I nodded while I said, “Yes.” And she right away asked me to call 911.
    BALDWIN: Did she explain the situation? Did she explain what had happened to her husband? How did she describe that?
    UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That’s when she said, “My husband’s been shot,” been shot in the head. And it sent chills down my spine. It changed my mood. I was scared.
    I went ahead right away and started dialing 911 as she got off the jet ski. She kept explaining to me that all they were doing was taking pictures. They weren’t doing anything wrong out there, just taking pictures when —
    BALDWIN: These three boats come upon them.
    UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And they went ahead and surrounded them, started waving guns, from what she was telling me. As they started to take off, because they got scared themselves, they started to leave the place, the bullets start coming in.
    BALDWIN: Were you not afraid? Were you not afraid that these people on these three boats with AK-47s could come after you?
    UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes, but at the moment, I was scared. And it didn’t take very long for our sheriff’s department to get there.
    As soon as I was able to contact 911, we must have had about — and it’s too much by saying five minutes. They were there in less time.
    As soon as they got there, they started to question and make sure everything was — the scene was secured. Border Patrol got there. The game warden was there. The sheriff’s department was there. And it was pretty — pretty scary, yes, it was.
    BALDWIN: Now, I won’t ask you, I won’t get into details as to what you do, why you were there. But needless to say, it sounds like you’re familiar with Falcon Lake.
    Were you aware that there were warnings, that there had been these warnings since April 30th of this year that the young boys in their teens have been frequenting this lake, and specifically the Mexican side, robbing some fishermen? Were you aware of those warnings? Were you worried at all?
    UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes. Yes. Again, we were worried. Very worried.
    BALDWIN: Yet, you still went out there for whatever reason.
    UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, I have a house that’s right next to the lake. So, yes, I used to live in it. I don’t live in it at this time. So I check up on it from time to time and make sure it’s not being used for illegal purposes without my consent or any notice or what have you.
    BALDWIN: Sure. And let me just — sorry to interrupt you. I just wanted to get this question out there.
    I’m just curious as to why you’re willing — we thank you that you are — but why you’re willing to get on the phone with me and risking your situation and telling me about Falcon Lake. Why is it so important to get this story out? What’s your message?
    UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think the government needs to really look at this corner of the world and do something about it. It doesn’t have to take a tragedy or two before somebody gets out there and looks at this a little closer.
    Our sheriff’s department can’t handle it. They’re stretched out on their resources. And it’s very difficult to live in peace in an area where it’s known for drug traffickers and again having a lake where pillars are that division of international waters.
    BALDWIN: Right. We heard from the county sheriff that this is basically a turf battle between two different Mexican cartels. And I hear what you’re saying. You’re saying you want federal government intervention.
    I thank you for calling in. I thank you for sharing your story.
    Mrs. Hartley, My husband and I were fishing on the Mexico side of Falcon that afternoon. We did hear gunfire and later saw the Border Patrol helicopter frantically flying over the area of the house that sits on the tip of a point(USA). We k…new then that something really bad had happened. Our first thought was dove hunters but the shooting just didn’t stop. Gov. Rick Perry stated that the Mexican officals haven’t had anyone say they heard gunshots. They didn’t ask US! They are evil and we will not let them get away with this. Pray without ceasing! We are so upset about this and will do everything we can to help you. We live in Odessa and it is happening here. God Bless you and David’s family. We are praying for his return and for justice
    I say, does a helicopter really fly frantically? M Leach really wanted to get the word out that she heard “shooting that didn’t stop” (So, would that indicate an AK47?) Per the area of the house that sits on the tip of a point…why would she want to inform TH of this? On google maps, I did find a large house WEST of the lake ramp…had to zoom for a while though. Wonder if Marget Leach is a fake name, or a “middle man” getting the msg to TH? Could M Leach be a relative of the “witness.” Maybe the witness lives in the large house?
    Andy, thanks for your input about grief, specifically your comment, “I have worked as a grief counselor and Mrs. Hartley’s demeanor appears to be very sober and sad.” I also appreciate learning that the stages of grief are the old way of thinking — I did not know that.
    I think people are observing *all* of TH’s behavior, not just watching to see if she cries. This is a woman whose husband was allegedly murdered and his body is missing and she was the last person to see him alive. There are reasonable questions about her story that have not been answered. And since no one likes to be fooled, we observe all her behaviors and see if anything raises a red flag.
    To me, her promptness in getting on with her life is a red flag. That’s all. Not a judgement as to guilt or innocence, or even suspicion…just a red flag. And if people grieve differently, well then, four weeks might be all it takes for someone to be ready to move on.
    Do we have any right to observe her behavior? Absolutely…if she’s on national television by her own choice, of course we do. By doing this, she’s giving the Grief Police a free pass.
    Autopsy
    I am curious, who will perform the first autospy on David? This is
    a criminal investigation, so an Autopsy is mandatory.
    TH will be on plane for David’s body, once he is found. Hold the Phone, this is not as simply as TV. The Mexican investigator’s are first (Autopsy) if DH is found it Mexico, right?
    Well said post. Loved the Columbo mention, lol!
    crimesolver- thanks for the insights on the FB postings-
    I agree that Margeret Leach seems to have a clear personal bias in regards to whats happening-
    Her use of God- and religion and saying
    “They are evil and we will not let them get away with this. Pray without ceasing! We are so upset about this and will do everything we can to help you. We live in Odessa and it is happening here.”
    and this
    “I pray daily for you and your family. Never take your eyes off Heaven. The Lord will give you wisdom and strength . There are some that are against you but the ones that are by your side wipe out the doubters. You are David’s VOICE now. We have to WORK HARD to stop what is happening to OUR AMERICAN FAMILIES.”
    Whose evil? How does she know who did this? And a dove shooting “gun” does NOT sound like an AK 47- There is NO WAY IMO that an AK$& shots fired would sound like someone hunting and certainly NOT doves- my gosh the little birds would be blown to smirthereens.
    Whose against Tiffany and her husband? This woman sounds as if she is waging a holy war against the “doubters”
    and why the Hell would Margeret and other “witnesses” have to work hard to wipe out the doubters or Stop what is happening to OUR AMERICAN families? Exactly what is happening to our American families?
    really this does not sound like it is a credible witness account- it sounds like someone inserting themselves into this tragedy to further their own agenda-
    I have never seen this woman on NBC- I wonder why they did not put her or her husband on immediately to back up Tiffany’s account- Could it be because this “witness” would do Tiffany and her account more harm then good?
    Does anyone understand Spanish, please? Does the song mean Accomplice? Yes, it is the Full Moon, I figured, I would get one loony question in:)
  29. S.H. says:
    Would this pair be accomplices in “something”? (just asking)!
    Can someone, kindly, take a snap of her myspace page, before, she makes it private? Just to keep it around. TY.
    “Mi Complice” (title song on her page)”Complice” means “accomplice”.
    I looked the word up in a (on-line)Spanish-American dictionary.
    lol, its crazy isnt it? I dont know if this is anything at all. But, I tried to find a new friend without a regular pic and there it was. It is curious whoever it is has nothing other than female sex.
    IDK what you guys are up to (LOL). I thought is clever how you looked
    for a new friend without a regular pic, I didn’t think of that.
  33. PackLeader5 says:
    Mom 3.0: So- how did the Sheriff take charge of this investigation? Why didnt the federal officers arrive and take the Sheriff off the case immediately- securing the evidence ect?- Exactly when did the actual “investigation” with Federal officers begin?
    That has been my problem with this from the beginning. I don’t think the Sheriff has anything at all to do with this case, although he’s talking like he does. The Feds aren’t saying anything because it’s easier to have him keeping the media entertained while they do their work. The media is too clueless to know this.
    I live near Lake Amistad—the next Rio Grande Reservoir to the North of Falcon Lake. I have been in an emergency on the Lake where 9-1-1 was called, and absolutely, the dispatcher sent the emergency to the Park Service. I’ve also been in an immigration related situation, and the 9-1-1 call dispatched the ICE and Border Patrol. I really don’t believe (based on what I know from friends in ICE, BP, etc) at all that things are that different down at Falcon, where Immigration and Border crimes are worse than they are here.
    I just don’t think the 9-1-1 call led to the Sheriff’s office. I believe that TH called the Sheriff’s office directly, and at some point following that—she called 911, and the Feds were alerted. I’ve believed from the beginning she had a plan and an agenda, and MOO, the Sheriff does too. I wish I could share more, but at this point, the only addition I have to the story is totally unverified rumors around here that the man in the truck with TH when it was stopped WAS her husband, but the man who arrived at the lake with her was NOT her husband. The other rumor (also unverified) is that it’s very plausible that David could have gotten pretty far on the JetSki into Mexico, and met up with “friends” who are hiding him while TH collects insurance money.
    Every day that goes by, more and more people are not believing TH.
    ————————————————–
    Could there be FEMALE pirates? We or I think of bandits as men, lately, females seems braven in aiding a abetting. Wouldn’t that be
    something,huh, if a female was an accomplice?
    I am curious if TH, joined the bar scene? Just curious, she found life
    boring and church boring? Perhaps, the night life wasn’t boring.
  35. lizzy says:
    “Still, why would ANYONE as a new FB friend send a picture of a coconut with a smiley face to a woman who has just lost her husband in a gruesome murder?”
    Well, if it’s already their profile picture . . . personally, I’ve never changed my picture depending upon whom I’m friending. Do you do that? It’s quite different from actively “sending” a picture to someone.
    At any rate, there is a real female person with that name, with a real degree from a real university, and a real civil service job in South Texas. So, I think we can deduce that it is not a code or anagram.
    (Personal aside: I fully understand how someone could conclude such a seemingly unusual name is an anagram. I love codes and treasure hunts, and the first time I saw my husband’s name decades ago, I thought someone was sending me a clue!)
  36. Andy. says:
    Elizabeth,
    Hopefully you can locate some of the books written by widows of the attacks on 9-1-01. During the time when many were paralyzed with grief, several of these grieving widows evolved into a powerful fighting force for all families that had lost a loved one in this attack. By maintaining their composure in public appearances, they immediately began to seriously influence congressional representatives to investigate this horrific event. Other widows began to make contact with grieving women that they had never met in an effort to help them financially and emotionally. In the privacy of their homes, these widows’ grieving behaviors were very different form what the public witnessed. Do I think these widows had abnormal and/or suspicious grieving behavior? No, they were widows who found it more therapeutic to act rather than to not act. Should everyone that is grieving behave exactly like these widows? No, such activity would not be therapeutic to some. Mrs. Hartley shares some similar grieving behaviors with other
    widows that have experienced the tragic loss of their husbands.
    @crimesolver – very interesting. It does seem like this Margaret Leach went overboard to talk about the shooting. Now I wonder if the FBI ever contacted her or whether they could find her. When you put the two together – the “witness” to the boat chasing Tiffany and this person Margaret who “heard” the shooting that “didn’t stop”, (“pray without ceasing”? just worded strangely) – it does almost seem like someone is trying too hard to convince everyone that this whole thing happened the way Tiffany is saying. All MOO
    Anyone wonder how many laptops or desktops the Hartley’s owned? Bet they paid cash for them. Now that all of the Harley’s possessions are nicely packed up and headed to Colorado…how will we know how many of these electronics safely made the trip? Can the LE trace their “browsing history” thru their Internet provider?
    Hi all- about the pirate settings on FB- my kids have FB and this was a fad for awhile to talk in pirate speak ect- FB friends often have notices of events-zombie days- trex day – where everyone talks or behaves in the same way- IMO this pirate setting has nothing to do with what happened on Falcon Lake-
    Eloise- yeah- I love Columbo-
    Very interesting thoughts Packleader5-
    Andy- again, we all know that people grieve in different ways- and we all know that horrible situations- deaths- murders ect- can lead to positive things, such as the victims family members becoming advocates for a worthwhile cause- Look at John Walsh- Marc Klaas, Tim miller- ect.
    Many of us, have thanked you for your insights as a grief counselor and many of us have agreed to the points you made-
    However IMO- Tiffany Hartley can not be put in the same category as 911 wives or Marc Klaas ect, at least not yet- as there is no physical evidence that confirms her account-she may be mourning David, and she may believe he is dead- but we do not know this as a fact, and she has not become an advocate for anything as of yet- nor should she try, at this point- JMO
    Tiffany has tried to become a spokesperson though, for border issues- drug enforcement issues- Mexican/ American relations- – but IMO she would be better suited in trying to become a spokeswoman for cautioning American and Mexican citizens to heed their governments warnings – as she and her husband IGNORED warnings that Falcon lake- especially the Mexico side, was dangerous and overran by pirates.
    You guys have me hooked now, on this Arcy Bernal-Duran thing. At first I had to roll my eyes and giggle a bit at the sleuthing and stuff of her name, but now I’m beginning to wonder if there’s something there. Hey, stranger things have happened!
    I decided to try googling Arcy Bernal-Duran, and one thing that repeatedly popped up was a link to a movie called “Dot the I” from 2003.
    The story involves a love triangle of a woman who is about to be married to a caring but slightly boring wealthy Englishman. But before the wedding, she encounters a stranger who sparks passion in her. At one point in the movie, the boring Englishman fakes his own suicide and sends a video of it to the woman.
    You can read the whole plot here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dot_the_i
    The reason this movie showed in the google results is because one of the actors is Gael García Bernal and one is James D’Arcy. So what showed up was D’Arcy/Bernal in some of the google results.
    Suppose there is a love triangle between Tiffany, David, and a stranger? Or maybe David has an alter-ego and has staged his death and this is their way of communicating on fb.
    Just thought I’d add to the crazy (or maybe not so crazy ideas) surrounding Tiffany’s new fb friend, Arcy Bernal-Duran.
    PL,
    Do you “think” the re-enactment (Tuesday) included the unverified man?
    In other words, the Mexican Investigators, did an re-enactment, was there “a surprise” for Tiff in the re-enactment? Something scared her (so badly) into moving within 24 hours?
    Did the unvertified, “mystery man” travel with TH (together) on one Jetski? Did she drop him off?
    Wife of missing jet-skier returns home to Colorado
    (NECN/KMGH: Denver, Colorado) – The widow of the American jet-skier reportedly killed by pirates on a lake straddling the Texas-Mexico border is back home in Colorado.
    Tiffany Hartley spoke with reporters Saturday about her long and difficult drive back to the Denver area after weeks seeking answers about her husband’s death in south Texas.
    “After everything happened was our day that we were going to come back, and the hardest part of it — all of it — was just leaving without him, and I’d rather him be next to me and be with me than having to do all this by myself.”
    Mexican authorities have suspended the search for David Hartley’s body as drug violence continues along the border.
    =============================================================
    She still, refers to David as “him”, very strange. Him isn’t around.:(
    Zapata is a tiny little town where everyone knows everyone. Like I said before, we’ve been there, we have several law enforcement relatives
    (Homeland Security) that live there. The Sheriff would not have needed to get a call from TH to know that something had happened.
  47. Saxey says:
    It seems to me that this event has launched TH into the ultimate reality show. Knowing now that some people will go to unusual lengths to get the same sort of fame, it would not surprise me to discover a similar motive here. I cannot discern any other intent for the almost daily positioning in the media. If the argument is that TH is sincere in wanting to shine a bright light on the ‘ border problem’, then it has indeed become a priority for her over and beyond the loss of her husband.
    I agree with you Mom3.0. I live in south central Texas and have known about issues on Lake Falcon for quite some time. Although I can understand how it would be easy for her to drag “border issues” into this incident, one has to wonder why Tiffany is not more focused on warning others to steer clear of these areas of unrest.
    On the other hand, she is young and seems pretty unsophisticated for someone who has lived in that area of our world.
  50. GraceintheHills says:
    I just wanted to add, that having watched most of Tiffany’s video interviews, it appears to me that her affect is growing more somber and depressed over time…
