Holly Bobo Missing: ATV Tire Ads Tied To Case- Search Sets Up Roadblocks- Blink Discuss Case Tonight On Dana Pretzer Show

Parsons, TN- Tomorrow marks the one week point of the forcible abduction and probable assault outside the home of 20 year old nursing student, Holly Bobo.

Mark Gwyn, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, announced the current reward offered has tripled to $75,000 thanks to a $50,000 commitment from Tennesee Governor Bill Haslam at a press conference yesterday at the command center.

Also during the press conference, Gwyn stated that Clint Bobo, Holly’s brother and witness to her walking into the woods with a man dressed in camo he thought was her boyfriend, was NOT able to provide a description.

..”As you know, at this time, we have one eyewitness, that’s Holly’s brother, and he was not able to give us a description…”Mark Gwyn, TBI

Yesterday, Holly Bobo’s cousin, Whitney Duncan, appeared on Fox News and Good Morning America, thanking the public and asking folks to keep searching. She also appears to have lost her patience with speculation about her cousin Clint, possibly being not only an eyewitness, but a suspect.

Whitney Duncan Tweet

Duncan’s sentiments were echoed by newly appointed family spokesperson Kevin Bromley as he appeared on the Good Morning America Show this morning:

“Clint is a wonderful young man and as a character witness for him, I would rule out any kind of rumors on Clint and the family would feel comfortable with me saying that as well,” said Kevin Bromley, a spokesman for the Bobo family.

The 7th day of the search began again today, at the new command center, The National Guard Armory located at 256 West 9th St, Parsons.

Kristin Helm, spokesperson for TBI announced yesterday they were choosing to move to this location due to the amoung of evidence that has been collected, and their need for enhanced security.

TBI has decided on a new tactic today, as reported by Will Nunley, of  WBBJ-TV there is a roadblock set up on Myracle Town Rd and twelve new investigators from TBI have been added to the case this morning.  (Editors Note: Nunley has been doing a stellar job in the field on this case, kudos, follow his tweets.)

This investigation is beginning to sound very much like how Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams was nabbed – by a roadblock where the tires on his vehicle were spotted by an eagle-eyed investigator and were visually consistent with tire treads found at the scene of one of the murdered women.

Speaking of tires, www.blinkoncrime.com has uncovered what has been determined to be “materially relevant” to the case of the disappearance of Holly Bobo, by a source inside the investigation speaking to blinkoncrime.com on the condition of anonymity.

While our source will not comment on whether one or both ads are a part of the case or who they might be tied to, the ad from Parsons, appeared at 12:33AM on April 17, before the public was asked to notice who may have replaced tires or cleaned an ATV or vehicle.

Two ATV tire ads, one from Jackson, TN and one from Parsons, TN appeared on Craigslist on April 17, 2011.

As the search perimiters in previous days were located 6 and 8 miles away from Bobo’s home, where items of hers are believed to have been recovered, it begs the question, why would the focus turn to nearly 2 miles away from the Swan Johnson address of the Bobo’s, to Myracle Town Rd, in the opposite direction?  Do investigators think the suspect has been trying to send them in the opposite location by planting evidence?

Police are interviewing neighbors in this Myracle Town Rd. and Box Rd. area today, as well as stopping  motorists, of which there are very little.  A different tactic indeed.

Searches in this rural terrain are daunting to say the least, however, the community outreach and response to requests for assistance has been nothing short of astounding.

While speculation that the suspect responsible for Holly’s disappearance is indeed a member of the very small town of Parson’s, and is well known to Holly and the Bobo family, many close friends of the Bobo’s are participating in searches of their own properties vowing to continue until she is located.

Many long time Decatur County families own large tracts of land near the Bobo residence.

Some of them for generations – including the Todd family, as an example, who owns large tracts in the Myracle Town Rd,  Box Rd,  and Gilbert Rd area.

Jason Todd, a former schoolmate of Holly Bobo’s as are MANY of Holly’s friends, will unfortunately end up searching for her in each other’s  backyards.

It is my feeling that Holly was attacked in the carport area, and as a result, was immediately subdued under threat of further violence, probably with a weapon of some kind. I do not think she was lured by anyone she trusted.

    B

Clarity please.. The brother had seen her walk off or no ? If so why didnt the brother go into emergency mode ?? speed was of the essance.
I know you wrote that a neighbor heard a scream. I can understand the reasoning behind the thought of violence.

Clint Bobo is alleged to have seen her walking with who he though was her boyfriend into the woods, from over 25 plus yards away from a first floor window partially obstructed by the carport. The description from LE was that she was being “led by the arm” by her attacker for fear of her life.

The blood was located on the ground in the carport, in my mind, has to at least belong to Holly for LE to refer to the suspect as an attacker. He only saw them from the rear, and I am guessing the suspect had his arm over her shoulder and a weapon in the other. I do not think he counted on Clint being there and thought he had all day long.

not to mention i wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t have a record for domestic violence or assualt

  3. Jeff D says:

It may well be that once Holly understood the imminent danger she was in, she complied with attacker in an effort to take the danger away from the house and her brother..In that instance she recognized the attacker and understood all that he was capable of…this would add ‘hero’ to the list of titles this young lady inherited/earned that day.

Could the suspect have gone out of state? Say, maybe a state such as KY?
Im sure he is being followed there. Probably went home to avoid gossip.

For starters, I want to caution everyone that just because someone posts their itinerary on FB, it does NOT mean they are actually there. There have been a number of interviews conducted, and until such time as an arrest is made, they are also free to travel.

Is there anyone in this community not accounted for???

  6. Becca says:

This does not appear to be a financially wealthy community. It seems wealth and power would stick out like a sore, golden thumb.

    Data below from http://www.city-data.com/city/Parsons-Tennessee.html

Parsons compared to Tennessee state average:

Median household income below state average.
Median house value significantly below state average.
Median age significantly above state average.
Institutionalized population percentage significantly above state average.
Number of college students below state average.
Percentage of population with a bachelor’s degree or higher below state average.

  8. Kat says:

When the story first broke… I read that Clint did hear her yelling but thought it was Holly and her boyfriend fighting… at some point he went out and the man had a weapon and told him to go back inside or he would hurt Holly. Have you heard anything like that?

I have heard about 50 different versions of that, and it is not correct.

We just have to be patient as hard as that may be. Somebody will talk eventually if they haven’t already. Hope its sooner than later though. The familys statement the other day seemed to point toward them knowing this was going to end badly, i hope not but its definately going to be a miracle if she is found alive. An absolute shame that someone with such potential as Holly has had this happen to her. Even if she is found alive I can only imagine the years of therapy that will be needed. God be with her and her family in their time of need.

  10. becky says:

    1. Do the initials BB and JD ring any significiance in this case?

I am fluent in both of their backgrounds- that said, to date, they have not been named as a POI or suspect in this case.
    B

    correct.
they have not been named as a POI or suspect in this case. I answer questions very deliberately, fyi.
    B

  11. becky says:

Ahh. I see the technicality is the “naming” part here.
Another question I have, is saying the blood by/in/near the carport is Holly’s and another persons. If LE was able to match the DNA up with another person and identify them, would they be able to make an arrest? I would assume that just having their blood at the scene of the crime would give LE some kind of reason to hold them. How long could you hold someone (if you could) for something like that?
Do they honestly need to find Holly before an arrest is made?
Please answer what you can. I respect the fact that you are maintaining a level of privacy with what you know. Thanks for all your information so far.

becky there are a hundred variables to your question, there is no Law and Order episode answer.

Not being glib or disrespectful, but that was question 106 on the LSAT.

    I just read this article:

It kind of seems like to me some people think Jason Nickell could be responsible. Or did I read that right? My thoughts are although the things in that article about him are odd. I do not feel like it was him. I thought I might have figured a person or 2 out, that possibly could have been involved. And I may be way off base with my suspicions.

  16. Becca says:

Having a body is the most valuable evidence you can have when convicting someone of homicide. With a body you’ve got time of death, DNA, wounds, possible cause of death. Logic says they are going to follow every single lead they’ve got, and until the time either she is found, or all leads in finding her have been exhausted, that’s when they’ll bring in the SOB(s).

IMO they aren’t worried about not being able to bring in the guilty. They are just systematically doing their job to the most thorough degree possible, in order for justice to take place in the most uncomplicated and air tight manner.

I, for one, don’t have the patience and would have my guns blazing. Thank goodness LE does, and despite what is surely enormous pressure, they are doing all they can and in a way that protects the family and honors Holly.

  17. Autumn says:

It was said she was possibly wounded, I do not know much about bow hunting. But how possible would it be for someone, to possibly have shot her with a bow in a place that wouldn’t hurt her badly but enough to wound her and stun her, and then perhaps while she is down force her into the woods. Would that have been possible or would a wound from a bow bleed to much? I was thinking with all of the hunting going on because of turkey season, that might have been a possibility.

  18. Becca says:

Becky – Blink’s answers teach and provoke thought. She may be blunt and to the point, but she’s not a jerk. You resorted to name calling instead of really thinking about your question and her answer, especially the verbiage she used. Your question wasn’t dumb. She was just saying it’s more complicated than that.

Thank you Becca, perhaps I think you articulated that better than I.
    B

  19. Autumn says:

Wow lol, I used the words possible, possibly a lot…didn’t even notice until now. Forgive me I am running on a few hours sleep. Will be sure and proof read the next time. LOL!!

And Becky I do agree, I think they could be following all of their leads and building up their case. Making it concrete with no loop holes, before they go in and make an arrest. Which I hope happens very soon, I can not wait until this person or persons pay for what they have done. Still praying for Holly and her loved ones.

  20. jeff says:

now what they should do is release poi’s photo;s and say their witness saw it on criminal minds once guy abducted a girl they said he was a suspect then they changed it to a witness and someone called about the guy

  21. zeus says:

Blink, do you think there is any chance at all that the RSO, Jason Everett Nickell-could have taken Holly?

Since he did not live far from her (about a half hour away), he could have seen Holly anywhere ( at a restaurant, mall, etc.) and become obsessed with her and followed her home to see where she lived.

I find it interesting that he stalked and harassed two women on April 6 (Wednesday) and April 7 (Thursday). Then Holly is taken on April 13 (Wednesday). It seems he could have been escalating.

I also read in the Examiner article I have snipped from-that he took his truck to a body shop on April 14 and attempted to have it declared totaled. Then supposedly his wife (or some female) came back the next day and removed items from the truck.

I found that really strange, and if true-why did he want that vehicle to be totaled and no longer in his possession? The vehicle he stalked the other girls in was a blue car, not a truck.
    ——————–

    From the article:

Jason Everett Nickell, 39, is the registered “violent” sex offender charged with two counts of stalking against two 19-year-old women over a two-day period April 6 and 7 – the week before Holly went missing. He was arrested on April 18, five days after Holly was abducted and is being held on $300,000 bail. Nickell is described as 6’ tall weighing 210 lbs.

A source, who wishes to remain anonymous, reported Tuesday that a local auto body shop manager remembered Jason Everett Nickell came to their shop in Jackson asking to have a vehicle totaled just days after Holly went missing.

The source reports that Nickell acted “strange, cocky, and hyper.” During a conversation about Holly’s abduction Nickell allegedly told the shop owner that he lived “three doors down” from the Bobo residence, which, according to news reports and the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry, is false. The Bobos live on Swan Johnson Road in Darden and Nickell, at that time, lived at 1815 Liberty Church Road in Holladay.

B, I have heard initials that end with a M, have you?

  23. flint says:

I think we all know, or feel we know, what bunch is responsible for this horror. I do not live there but work there. Local’s pretty much know, I think. However, I hear the family assisted once things spun out of control and so many looking for Holly. I dont think that when she was taken the intent was to murder, but I think that is what eventually occured. I think FBI was just one step behind them, but in the end are waiting for a body to nail this group. There fore that is the “powderkeg” in that it will involve so many people being charged, young and old. So Sad and I very much hope I am wrong on all accounts and Holly comes home alive and healthy! Prayers to her and her precius hurting family!! My heart cries for them and for all of us who have been violated and harmed by this event! Children and parents are now scared in thier own communities, as they should be, especially if so many are involved! God be with them all.

  24. Cnog says:

The more I think about it, I don’t think it was Jason Nickell either…mainly because Blink answered “yes” to the question of whether or not he/she thought the community would be very surprised when they find out who the POI(s) is/are. It wouldn’t really be that surprising to find out a local “violent” sex offender did this. Unless, those in the area did not know he was a sex offender and that in and of itself could be very surprising.
Sorry for the he/she above Blink, I just don’t know if you are male or female:)

  25. starshadow says:

Over on Scared Monkeys, there’s a ton of fussing about the clarification of the suspect description, and how Clint Bobo wouldn’t have been able to make that detailed of a description.

I seem to be waiting indefinitely for approval over there, so I’ll say it here: why on earth hasn’t it occurred to anyone that the clarification might well have come from someone other then Clint Bobo?

They’ve been asking and asking people in the area to consider if they saw anything or anyone out of place that day – seems reasonable that someone did!

HELLO??? Totally agree. Your approved at SM

  26. TR says:

I want to know where people are hearing these initials from? I haven’t “heard” or read anything concrete about a POI in this case. As for CB, it is my belief that he didn’t know he was a witness and that makes his position a difficult one to be in…apart from the obvious horror of his sister missing. When your brain is on alert it processes much faster and accurately for survival reasons…he was simply going about his morning routine.

If Jason Nikell is responsible~~That blows Blink’s Theory out of the water. I wondered when I read an article about Big Crime coming to small town and wondered then if he could be responsible. I hope LE looked his truck over good and his apartment or where ever he was living. Such a waste~~Whoever took Holly. She was a good person with so much to give and so beautiful. I do hope they find her alive and well knowing all too well that is probably not the case and it hurts me to think it much less write it. I live in California so I only know what I am reading on 3 websites. I lost my son almost 21 years ago and it hurts so much to see someone else suffer that pain.

‘We could use a strong accountability system not dependent on appeals, but rather oversight. The public/citizens have a right to know exactly how decisions are made and cases are handled. We need to know in order to fix problems and hold people accountable for what is supposed to be work done on behalf of the citizens. Somehow “the interest of the state” seems to preclude the citizenry which is odd considering the state IS the citizenry, well, at least in a democratic republic with a constitution’.

See that’s the problem, people think they are entitled to anything they want. Perhaps they are so use to getting what they want. That they will go down any avenue to make sure they get it. Not caring about who or what they hurt along the way. I hope this worthless piece of work, gets nailed to the wall for this. Just makes me sick thinking about it, and it breaks my heart.

I have often stopped and thought what the hell is wrong with some people. Where do they get their nerve to do half the things they do. And where is their conscience? It amazes me how many people these days do not have one.

Blink – can you tell us whether the Bobo’s were aware that there was some ‘issue’ with this person with regard to Holly previously? Were others aware that ‘he wanted’ her, or was it unknown to people around Holly, or Holly herself? I am certain that the Bobos or others close to Holly, even if they knew there was some sort of issue, were completely surprised of what he was capable of.

  49. JEN says:

Well, maybe I’m the odd man out, as it were. I guess as a mom to 4 kiddos myself, I CAN understand how a parent could internally deny the depths of a child’s capacity for evil…*especially* if their actions looked like the result of mental illness. Can we say “major stigma”?

Now, going so far as to cover up their aberrant behavior? Yeah, with you all there – I don’t get that part at all *cough Anthonys cough*. OTOH, that’s a there-but-for-the-grace thing. I’ve never been forced to try those shoes on and can only state that I hope I’d react with integrity and in the best interests of my fellow man and my family.

Faced with what these parents are facing, at some point I would hope that I was still thinking rationally enough to understand that there’s only one way I can “make this better” for everyone involved. Because regardless of how I process and react to what my child has done, at the end of the day I can only positively affect the outcome by making one. single. choice.

The question is whether or not I am strong enough to make it.

    JMO.

  50. JEN says:

And on a completely tangential topic…can anyone here educate me on hunting? Not a broad overview, lol – I get the gist of what it involves. What I want to know is how serious a hunter would have to be to participate in some of these national hunts that I’ve been reviewing on the Interwebz. Is it unusual for young guys to travel across the country to take part in hunting contests and be “guides” for others? I imagine this would be a great way to meet other passionate hunters.

Your urban-dwelling fellow Blink-ite thanks you in advance. And a PS to Blink – my particular thanks for your goose hunt photo cropping skills.
