Holly Bobo Missing: ATV Tire Ads Tied To Case- Search Sets Up Roadblocks- Blink Discuss Case Tonight On Dana Pretzer Show

Parsons, TN- Tomorrow marks the one week point of the forcible abduction and probable assault outside the home of 20 year old nursing student, Holly Bobo.

Mark Gwyn, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, announced the current reward offered has tripled to $75,000 thanks to a $50,000 commitment from Tennesee Governor Bill Haslam at a press conference yesterday at the command center.

Also during the press conference, Gwyn stated that Clint Bobo, Holly’s brother and witness to her walking into the woods with a man dressed in camo he thought was her boyfriend, was NOT able to provide a description.

..”As you know, at this time, we have one eyewitness, that’s Holly’s brother, and he was not able to give us a description…”Mark Gwyn, TBI

Yesterday, Holly Bobo’s cousin, Whitney Duncan, appeared on Fox News and Good Morning America, thanking the public and asking folks to keep searching. She also appears to have lost her patience with speculation about her cousin Clint, possibly being not only an eyewitness, but a suspect.

Whitney Duncan Tweet

Duncan’s sentiments were echoed by newly appointed family spokesperson Kevin Bromley as he appeared on the Good Morning America Show this morning:

“Clint is a wonderful young man and as a character witness for him, I would rule out any kind of rumors on Clint and the family would feel comfortable with me saying that as well,” said Kevin Bromley, a spokesman for the Bobo family.

The 7th day of the search began again today, at the new command center, The National Guard Armory located at 256 West 9th St, Parsons.

Kristin Helm, spokesperson for TBI announced yesterday they were choosing to move to this location due to the amoung of evidence that has been collected, and their need for enhanced security.

TBI has decided on a new tactic today, as reported by Will Nunley, of  WBBJ-TV there is a roadblock set up on Myracle Town Rd and twelve new investigators from TBI have been added to the case this morning.  (Editors Note: Nunley has been doing a stellar job in the field on this case, kudos, follow his tweets.)

This investigation is beginning to sound very much like how Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams was nabbed – by a roadblock where the tires on his vehicle were spotted by an eagle-eyed investigator and were visually consistent with tire treads found at the scene of one of the murdered women.

Speaking of tires, www.blinkoncrime.com has uncovered what has been determined to be “materially relevant” to the case of the disappearance of Holly Bobo, by a source inside the investigation speaking to blinkoncrime.com on the condition of anonymity.

While our source will not comment on whether one or both ads are a part of the case or who they might be tied to, the ad from Parsons, appeared at 12:33AM on April 17, before the public was asked to notice who may have replaced tires or cleaned an ATV or vehicle.

Two ATV tire ads, one from Jackson, TN and one from Parsons, TN appeared on Craigslist on April 17, 2011.

As the search perimiters in previous days were located 6 and 8 miles away from Bobo’s home, where items of hers are believed to have been recovered, it begs the question, why would the focus turn to nearly 2 miles away from the Swan Johnson address of the Bobo’s, to Myracle Town Rd, in the opposite direction?  Do investigators think the suspect has been trying to send them in the opposite location by planting evidence?

Police are interviewing neighbors in this Myracle Town Rd. and Box Rd. area today, as well as stopping  motorists, of which there are very little.  A different tactic indeed.

Searches in this rural terrain are daunting to say the least, however, the community outreach and response to requests for assistance has been nothing short of astounding.

While speculation that the suspect responsible for Holly’s disappearance is indeed a member of the very small town of Parson’s, and is well known to Holly and the Bobo family, many close friends of the Bobo’s are participating in searches of their own properties vowing to continue until she is located.

Many long time Decatur County families own large tracts of land near the Bobo residence.

Some of them for generations – including the Todd family, as an example, who owns large tracts in the Myracle Town Rd,  Box Rd,  and Gilbert Rd area.

Jason Todd, a former schoolmate of Holly Bobo’s as are MANY of Holly’s friends, will unfortunately end up searching for her in each other’s  backyards.

Not all LE departments are the same. But in my experience I have seen many LE detectives open to investigative ideas. Time is of the essance in any missing persons case. When this much time passes the outcome is usually not as everyone would have liked it. What LE should hope for is an aware and informed public. The media has done a good job and LE has performed. There is something missing in the story. That could be intentional on the part of LE. If not, it is time to go back to the very beginng and slowly go over every detail. The public although helpful can hinder and investigation with dead end leads driven by over active imagination with little or no facts. It can send LE on a wild goose chase. They become aprehensive.
Stay to the facts and search in grid patterns drawn on paper maps.. Cover every inch of ground one time. Look in every crevas. That is what help the Public/people can be for LE. They do not have the manpower to search everyplace. I have seen many LE departments give up the search and I witness public support dwindle over time “they turn the channel and move on” ..
Do not let that happen in this case. Find this girl.

  3. becky says:

I wonder if family of the suspect is aware that this person had anything to do with it. Blink, is it your suspicion that the family of the suspect even has gone so far as to help them cover it up?

    It is, absolutely.

  4. Jay says:

Let me take a run at this. First, let me clarify the area around the house as I’ve seen it and so perhaps some firsthand knowledge will those from other areas. The woods are EXTREMELY thick. No way they traveled through them on foot for very long. Suspect puts her on the four wheeler, probably sitting in front of him while he holds some sort of weapon on her. They get out of the wood pretty quickly an onto the main road where at some point they change vehicles. Gone, just that fast.

LE initially has miscommunication about brother’s statement, probably innocent mistake. They then gather evidence and begin to create a list of possible suspects. The statement that reversed an earlier statement saying that no one had been cleared, was merely for protection against a defense that would say “why didn’t you ever investigate this person” and shouldn’t be read into.

They now have at least one suspect and possibly more that may have helped cover up after the fact, which solidifies their local suspicions. Also, it is why the statement comes out today encouraging locals to search their property because the answer is still right there close and by close I mean in the county.

  5. Kchea says:

Blink, can you tell us anything? Has this investigation come to a stand still?

    Progressing, will when I can.

  6. Jay says:

Are there still Myracle’s left living in the Town?

  8. Jay says:

Thanks B. Didn’t mean to be impatient. So I assume they have exhausted the search areas they have access to and are now trying to determine a fail safe way into those being blocked by certain property owners?

No, it is my understanding they are not hitting any roadblocks in that arena as this investigation has progressed.

Then if I’m right, and for the life of me, I can’t think of another plausible explanation, there should be closure sooner rather than later.

Is it safe to assume multiple family members will be legally “punished” as covering up a crime, is a crime?

I am so.. not able to offer commentary on that.

What I will say is that TBI wants to recover Holly as a priority. That said, they will not conduct business to interfere with a successful prosecution in this case.

I think any family member that has any level of culpability or potential thereof, should be having chats with their attorneys and chose the upside.

This is not the fishbowl some think it is.

Blink if I may ask some questions that are driving me mad, and if you can answer great. If not I will understand.

Do you think they are 100 percent sure they know who the suspect is?
And do you think it will shock people in that community?
Do you think they will ever find Holly and get the truth about what happened to her, and do you think this will end up badly?

I hope you do not mind me asking, I have been on your site for awhile and you are one of the few people who do not post rumors and you stick to what you know and to the facts, you do a fabulous job.

Thank you but I am only able to answer ALL of your questions.

    yes.

  12. Flint says:

So Blink you are fairly certain LE knows the who, why are just at this point trying to make an airtight case? Do you stil think she is gone from us? How long do you think before the public has any info?

Yes , yes, I am not sure.

  13. jim For some reason this story just popped into my head, this a true story. Back in the day I lived down in Miami Florida. And, around 1992, give or take a year, about the time of hurricane Andrew, someone was murdering prostitutes up on Tamiami Trail or north east 8th st, which is north miami and I lived in south miami that’s about a 30 minute drive from my house. I making a long story short. I worked on roofs for years. Well, one mile and a half from my house, 1 1/2 mile away from where we picked up our roof supplys is where the serial killer worked, but nobody suspected anthing he just looked like another working guy trying to make a buck. I think he killed 8 girls before the authorities caught him….

  14. jeff says:

i am begainning to think if this was a communtiy member wouldn’t you have everything set up the night before and if u used a car wouldn’t u park it in the woods so no one would see it and then sleep in it get up and go to hollys house to get her they could just tell someone their staying at a friends house or going camping i think this was planned a couple days before it happed if the brother came home from college then the people were not planning on the brother being there would the perp borrow someone elses car a parents car maybe just some random thoughts

  15. jeff says:

did they check an y of the houses that were for sale in the area that have been vacant for a while

  16. ceci says:

@ Jay – you mention get on a 4-wheeler and then change vehicles. Any clue if they found a 4-wheeler abandoned? Or are you thinking this guy put the 4-wheeler in the bed of his truck? …and motored on.

  18. Kim says:

I’m new to the web site and posted a few times so far so forgive me for not knowing…but can someone fill me in on what LE and MOO stand for? I’ve got POI and have figured out that LE refers to the police/investigators/etc but can’t figure out what it stands for. And MOO has me completely lost!

    Thanks

  19. becky says:

Blink, Do you think that LE is sucessful in obtaining what they need to make an arrest? It seems to me like this process is taking forever! Then again, I am wondering if they are following someone in hopes that they lead them to wherever Holly is. How long before all the dominos fall?

  20. Kim says:

Ok, figured out LE. MOO still has me stumped though.

And something I wanted to bring up that I don’t think I’ve seen brought up on here or over at SM.
In posts I’ve seen referencing the carport it seems like everyone is assuming the carport is at the front of the house. If you look at the photos of the house though I could swear the carport is in the back of the house beside the pool…and pretty close to the woods. Wouldn’t have taken much for a large male to get a small 100 lb girl through that wooded area to the clearing to the south of the house…where a car/atv could have easily been driven and parked.
And since it looks like that land is owned by the Bobos it probably wasn’t out of the ordinary for any member of that family to enter the woods there. Thus not raising any red flags when Clint saw his sister heading in that direction. And we have no idea what window Clint was looking out of. Much of his view could have been blocked by the carport to realize what might have been taking place with Holly outside.

All I know is that that kid is going to need a world full of love and guidance when this finally, and sadly, comes to an end. I’ve felt responsible and guilty many times in my life but his burden is going to far outweigh anything most of us could ever understand in our lifetime.

    True dat and welcome Kim-

Correct, the carport is in the rear of the home, and to a degree obstructed the view of Clint Bobo.

    RE: blink

i just don’t think the tbi is doing a good job has far has the media part of this case i don’t think they thought this case would be so big and generate so much interest i hope this case don’t end up a cold case

The TBI is utilizing the same antiquated strategy as the GBI(GA) did in the Meredith Emerson tragedym which caused her demise, and as Leon County, FL and the FDLE did in the Cheryl Dunlap tragedy.

Information, education, communication, DNA, and the use of all available resources(the American People via the media) is critical in missing persons investigations.
An analogy would be like putting a puzzle together with pieces missing. This silence strategy only leads to deceased innocent victims and cold cases. GA has almost 700 cold cases and Tennessee is too embarassed to make theirs public..

  24. Foxfire says:

A few weeks ago the FBI placed a link to an encripted letter that was found at the scene of a 11 year old homicide cold case. It was cracked in 2 hours by a FB Friend in CA. The FBI posted another..
The FBI has a Billboard iniative, because they know the power of advertising and the ‘free resource of the american people’..

    http://richmond.fbi.gov/billboard.htm

In Atlanta, a fugitive Felon saw his Pic on one of the Billbords and turned himself in..

  25. Cnog says:

Foxfire: Blink answered “yes” on all accounts to this earlier post:

    Autumn -
Do you think they are 100 percent sure they know who the suspect is?
And do you think it will shock people in that community?
Do you think they will ever find Holly and get the truth about what happened to her, and do you think this will end up badly?

If that is the case, then it sounds like the TBI is doing a fairly good job IMO.

  26. Cnog says:

    Here’s a question to something I just don’t understand..

If the woods are SO thick it would be impossible to travel by foot for very long, then how on earth can one travel by ATV?

  27. jeff says:

its possible the perp was dropped off walked into the woods got holly then had someone pick him and her back up down the road and if it was a neighbor or a house close by u would not need mode of transportation i have not heard anybody talk about the dad i am courious has to what is whereabouts were that morning the person who did this had to be up at 7 30 am maybe before so someone had to not be where they were suppose to be i actually think the person or persons might have been camping in the woods the night before and talk to holly or had some interaction with her a couple days before this happed i also wonder if they checked the phone records of the brother maybe he gave info to one of his friends on aware of what the friend was going to to do

  28. Kim says:

    thank you B…and bap

Now that I know what MOO is….”MOO” to my previous post above ;)

  29. Jaxbelle says:

I am terrified that Holly has been murdered. Time and silence leads me to believe that LE is looking to recover her body and then proceed with charging this beast. Based on extensive lurking it probably is someone local who feels entitled, has been in trouble and bailed out by his family before. I bet she was as cute and precious as we assume and she just was not interested in the beast. He got his dander up, she resisted and he wound up killing her. I so want her to be reunited with her family but I doubt we are going to get the resolution we all hope and pray for. I also think her brother was not involved. He probably could never have imagined in his wildest nightmare that something like this would occur so he did not know what to do. I hope he does not blame himself for not acting sooner. I am going to continue to hope and pray for everyone involved.

  30. Jay says:

Ceci: I think it is possibly a combination of things. ATV initially, then yes, onto a truck, or the ATV was used to case the house and another vehicle was used in the abduction. Either way I think another vehicle is involved, and no, an ATV wasn’t found, to my knowledge.

Cnog: I said they couldn’t have gone far on foot, not at all on foot. Same with the ATV. Just opinions based on the lay of the land.

  31. Autumn says:

I am afraid she has been murdered as well, One can only hold out hope that she has not. I know technically the odd’s aren’t good. And I hope that the selfish creep who did this, and anyone else that was involved will be brought to their knee’s. I have never been able to understand where some of these people get the courage to commit these crimes. And how they think it is okay to do away with another person’s life. One has to wonder what is going on inside a disturbed mind like that. My heart is breaking for the Bobo’s, the Scott’s, and all of her other family and friends. It makes you wish you could do more than pray, send good wishes and hope.

  32. jeff says:

i have friends who go off roading and mudding up here and i noticed the tbi said this person may have been washing is car or throwing stuff away but people who go offroading or mudding dont wash their cars has fast has normal people would they leave that stuff on there for a while so its possible this perp just left his truck or vechicle whatever used dirty and muddy for a few days

  33. Something really stinks in Denmark? Something in my gut tells me there is no way she just walked into them woods without a struggle, and then decided it was time to scream. It was way pass the time to scream and show some resistence. “Is the community afraid to push the envelope”?

  34. Cnog says:

Jay – I hear what you’re saying, it’s just the pic in my head of what ‘woods that thick’ would look like, makes it seem impossible to get an ATV through. I guess not though, based on several people’s comments about it not being uncommon for people to own ATV’s in that area.

  35. Nancy says:

Blink – you mentioned that this is like a powerkeg waiting to explode, and that the community will be shocked and angry when they find out who did this. This communiuty is close knit, and several articles mentioned that Holly was active in her church, and was supposed to sing at the next Sunday service. Is is possible that the perp is from her church ? If so, that would explain why she could easiy be lead away because she trusted that person, and also why the family spokesman (who is a member of the church) is being so vague about information. The LE would want to keep him close to the investigation, but not really give him alot of information and make him suspicious that they were on to him……

It is my feeling that Holly was attacked in the carport area, and as a result, was immediately subdued under threat of further violence, probably with a weapon of some kind. I do not think she was lured by anyone she trusted.

  36. jess says:

Blink, from my understanding you know a lot more about the case and just can’t reveal much due to integrity of the case. I was wondering though, Holly’s FB allows you to see her friends, I have noticed one person in there that has the same last name as one of the roads they were searching, starts with a M. Are you able to give any insight as to if you think this person might be involved. He does meet the height and weight descriptions. I am continually praying for Holly and her family. With the time that has passed this is not looking to end well. I feel someone other than the culprit has to know something and wish they would come forward. Thanks for all of your updates and input on the case and for not fueling the rumor mill.

  37. JEN says:

Blink, given your in-depth knowledge of the case -

    1) Are the POIs following the case in the media?
    2) Are the POIs still in the immediate area (county)?
    3) Has there been talk that the main perp was “acting on behalf” of someone else?

    Yes no yes
    B

  38. Holly Bobo wasn’t to beat-up to walk. If you have ever been hit in the face hard enough, in the nose, you know it messes up your balance. If somebody is pulling you along by the arm because they are in a hurry, you will surely be stumbling along. There is know doubt in my mind that she was in no hurry to go with this person, to me this is an obvious observation. I’m sorry to have to say when her brother looked out the window did it really look like they were going for a stroll in the park. Not to mention she had to know her life was in danger more so if you go! Than if you don’t! Come on! People, don’t let this case go cold!

  39. StephG says:

@jess… I am thinking along the same lines as you. I am starting to see a whole lot of intersting things concerning the “M” person you mention!

  40. Blink when you have a minute could you please tell me how to get my name at the top of the post? I did not know it was going to post the same way every time we submit…Thank-you very much. My name is Jim.

Jim, you need to pick one “hat”, I ask that posters keep their name, but go ahead and change it to whatever you want.
    B

  41. “Jim” Thankyou Blink, that was very nice of you to help with that.

  42. Instinct in MI says:

@jess, I think the M part of your message is interesting, but not the friend on FB. Try closer to Bobo home.

Blink, Are the police still at the Bobo residence? If yes, are the police there to protect the Bobos or to keep the Bobos in? The threat of vigilantism must be high if the family has suspicions!

  43. Jim says:

OK, I finally got it right. But, just for the record, I truly believe deep down inside that Jesus Christ is in fact the Lord, of lords and one day he is coming to establish His Kingdom on the earth.

  44. Bridget says:

Ok, so what I’ve gathered from here and other places is the following:
    1. Possible ex-boyfriend and possibly his brother, cousin or close friend helped in the get-away.
    2. This boy is part of a large prominent, wealthy family that no one would suspect would be a part of an abduction.
    3. The family knows he did it, lawyered up and won’t let anyone on their property.
    4. An off road vehicle was used as well as another vehicle- possibly.
    5. Blood found in carport area indicates a possible struggle with him subduing her and threatening her enough to go in the woods with him.
    6. Found duct tape with blond hair. He might have put that over her mouth in the carport area and then in the woods near a neighbor’s house, she got it off and screamed (moo).
    7. The neighbor called 911.
    8. Because Blink said it was similar to Martha Moxley- I suspect it’s a neighbor or this family has property next to the Bobo’s (moo).
    9. Also because of the Martha Moxley ref.- could this family be related to someone famous?
    10. Lunch box found- possibly planted to throw off the TBI.
    11. Phone- possibly planted to throw off the TBI and frame someone else.
    12. Suspect thinks he’s clever but the TBI is very aware of what he’s doing.
    12. Situation is volatile (maybe because of the family being so prominent?) (or because the suspect is a loose cannon and really has anger toward the Bobo family- thus the Bobo family having someone watch their house?) or both (moo).
    13. Does not look good that she is still alive :(
    14. The TBI knows almost everything that happened, but need her body to really nail this guy.
    15. The suspect is probably reading this and still thinks he will get away with this.
    16. He better think again. one way or another- he’s going down. I say that because I know if it was my daughter- there would be justice one way or another. Could be why this is a “powderkeg” waiting to happen.
    How close am I Blink?

  45. Kchea says:

You answered jens question above that the poi’s are NOT in the immediate county? What? That’s scary! Shouldn’t LE release names/pictures of these POI’s? they could be dangerous to the public. Why have they fled the county?

  46. Cnog says:

Is anyone curious about this “violent” sex offender that was arrested five days after Holly went missing? He was arrested because he made four different attempts to stalk two other girls in counties nearby. Once arrested and “arraigned” for these stalkings, the judge ordered that he be held and raised his bond from $75,000 to $300,000.00. He is 6ft. tall, 210 lbs. He is awaiting a meeting of the Grand Jury.

  47. Cnog says:

Oh, and his property is just 21 miles from the Bobo’s. According to a local, if someone knew the area, they could make it from this man’s property to the Bobo’s property in 15 minutes on foot.

  48. jeff says:

i know up here my buddy would go off roading on these random paths with his tracker and ten minutas later we were on the other side of town and this was in the dark so he new the paths most of the paths were by railroads few were just odd ball paths that he accessed that were by lakes so its very possible this guy just drove is car through the woods and was at holly’s house my guess is he probley did it with her in the car a few times before

  49. Jim says:

I hope I’m not being to much, but I think it can be done with a small pick-up truck, and good tires.

  50. jeff says:

i wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t a bunch of 17-18 year old kids acting on the behalf of a 21-25 year old adult that got out of hand i do however think whoever did this kidnapping things went wrong somewhere along the way its only a matter of time before one or more starts to squel i mean if your a perp or one of the perps and ur suspected by the towns people how r u going to show ur face in that town same for the family of the perp just a thought
