Parsons, TN- Tomorrow marks the one week point of the forcible abduction and probable assault outside the home of 20 year old nursing student, Holly Bobo.

Mark Gwyn, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, announced the current reward offered has tripled to $75,000 thanks to a $50,000 commitment from Tennesee Governor Bill Haslam at a press conference yesterday at the command center.
Also during the press conference, Gwyn stated that Clint Bobo, Holly’s brother and witness to her walking into the woods with a man dressed in camo he thought was her boyfriend, was NOT able to provide a description.

Yesterday, Holly Bobo’s cousin, Whitney Duncan, appeared on Fox News and Good Morning America, thanking the public and asking folks to keep searching. She also appears to have lost her patience with speculation about her cousin Clint, possibly being not only an eyewitness, but a suspect.

Duncan’s sentiments were echoed by newly appointed family spokesperson Kevin Bromley as he appeared on the Good Morning America Show this morning:
“Clint is a wonderful young man and as a character witness for him, I would rule out any kind of rumors on Clint and the family would feel comfortable with me saying that as well,” said Kevin Bromley, a spokesman for the Bobo family.
The 7th day of the search began again today, at the new command center, The National Guard Armory located at 256 West 9th St, Parsons.
Kristin Helm, spokesperson for TBI announced yesterday they were choosing to move to this location due to the amoung of evidence that has been collected, and their need for enhanced security.
TBI has decided on a new tactic today, as reported by Will Nunley, of WBBJ-TV there is a roadblock set up on Myracle Town Rd and twelve new investigators from TBI have been added to the case this morning. (Editors Note: Nunley has been doing a stellar job in the field on this case, kudos, follow his tweets.)
This investigation is beginning to sound very much like how Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams was nabbed – by a roadblock where the tires on his vehicle were spotted by an eagle-eyed investigator and were visually consistent with tire treads found at the scene of one of the murdered women.
Speaking of tires, www.blinkoncrime.com has uncovered what has been determined to be “materially relevant” to the case of the disappearance of Holly Bobo, by a source inside the investigation speaking to blinkoncrime.com on the condition of anonymity.
While our source will not comment on whether one or both ads are a part of the case or who they might be tied to, the ad from Parsons, appeared at 12:33AM on April 17, before the public was asked to notice who may have replaced tires or cleaned an ATV or vehicle.

As the search perimiters in previous days were located 6 and 8 miles away from Bobo’s home, where items of hers are believed to have been recovered, it begs the question, why would the focus turn to nearly 2 miles away from the Swan Johnson address of the Bobo’s, to Myracle Town Rd, in the opposite direction? Do investigators think the suspect has been trying to send them in the opposite location by planting evidence?
Police are interviewing neighbors in this Myracle Town Rd. and Box Rd. area today, as well as stopping motorists, of which there are very little. A different tactic indeed.
Searches in this rural terrain are daunting to say the least, however, the community outreach and response to requests for assistance has been nothing short of astounding.
While speculation that the suspect responsible for Holly’s disappearance is indeed a member of the very small town of Parson’s, and is well known to Holly and the Bobo family, many close friends of the Bobo’s are participating in searches of their own properties vowing to continue until she is located.
Many long time Decatur County families own large tracts of land near the Bobo residence.
Some of them for generations – including the Todd family, as an example, who owns large tracts in the Myracle Town Rd, Box Rd, and Gilbert Rd area.
Jason Todd, a former schoolmate of Holly Bobo’s as are MANY of Holly’s friends, will unfortunately end up searching for her in each other’s backyards.

Sounds like either they don’t know who did this at all/or they are throwing this info out to confuse the POI they are watching.

Ok so what do we feel is the most likely thing happening here? the silence and #1 Do we think Holly is alive? #2 Do we think Holly has been found and it is not being told yet? #3 Do we think LE knows who it is and finally #4 Have they arrested him yet?
I am telling you from KNOWING if this town gets a hold of this person first there will be nothing let of them/him. Especially if she is not alive! People are silent but once news breaks on what ever happened they will seek justice, the Tennessee Way..

Don’t know if I am reading your comment correctly, Blink, but my response is “Amen”. Not trying to knock any Nashville news station (or national for that matter), but if one if going to report the news then it should be reported accurately. However, I have found that the “news” wants the best attention so they try to give the best “hype”. This is the conclusion I have drawn from this case and many other recent cases. One different “word” used is all that is needed in order for everyone to jump to conclusions. Whatever happened to reporting n-e-w-s and not opinion or speculation or attention getting headlines. A perfect example is the reward amount listed by WSMV. My guess is the reward amount ($80k) has not changed and WSMV relayed the wrong information ($75k). That’s just stupidity if this is the case.

This case has reminded me of 2 cases we just recently had where I live. We had a wonderful nurse/sunday school teacher go missing. There was absolute black-out of news by the LE. Thus leaving the perp to move on a month later and abduct and murder another coed in N. GA. But there the LE used every means to get the word outIMMEDIATELY….and in so doing, they caught this guy.
Now 3 yrs later….we just finished having his trial in Leon County, FL (the LE here didn’t do squat because if the law in GA had not done what they did, the guy would still be going around cutting people’s heads and hands off as he did with these 2 women).
GA had done a deal w/him in order to find Meredith Emerson’s body.
They sent him to Florida to have a trial for Cheryl Dunlap. (sunday school teacher/nurse).
My point: LE need to share with the public at first moment – to heck with holding back…let the public get the person. That’s the only way you get them off the street.

Maybe it is time Blink for the fathers and husbands to tend to who hurt their families. It has become too much for the law to do. I know that sounds …vigilante.
But I have done a lot of geneology. Read old newspaper accounts for probably 15 years now. Read first person accounts of people who lived the times in the 1700s 1800s etc.
People looked after themselves. There were not enough law to do it. I am convinced now, that between “too much education and not enough common sense”…and not enough people in LE….we are back to the same situation.
Looking at thirty-year-old cases would suggest it runs in the family… and that maybe Junior had cover-up help from Daddy?
When sexual predators attack, the first order of business is to gain compliance with a weapon(knife or firearm) or by breaking ribs or their nose(blood on carport). This predator is no stranger to the game and obviously sociopath/psychopath. The escape route was well as other safe havens were planned by the abductor.
The conclusions that LE/TBI jumped too were ludicrous at best:’has to be a local, etc’. A topo map and a little scouting could make anyone an expert on the routes, logging roads, terrain etc.

The first bldg I came too when I exited I40/hwy 69 was a porn toy shop, next a concrete construction company, and then down the road was the nursing school where Holly Bobo attended. She worked at the local grocery store part time, according to my info.
The attempted abduction of Heather Sullivan only 45 miles away, should raise many red flags. The predator would have left the area and would know that once you cross into a different Law Enforcement jurisdiction, due to the lack of communication between agencies, he would be free to strike again..
If it was a local, the $80, 000 reward would have drawn out his identity by now. I would prolly turn in my grandmother for that much cash…

That was my reaction as well. I also read that TBI is saying the evidence (cell phone?) that was found was b/c of searches and not a result of a tip being phoned in.
1. Do the initials BB and JD ring any significiance in this case? 2.It seems it would not just due to so many looking and pleading for her return. 3.To me it seems it had to be a seasoned killer, but perhaps this is not the case at all? IDK I think every one is ready (beyond ready) for some answers! hopefully next week?!!
I am fluent in both of their backgrounds- that said, to date, they have not been named as a POI or suspect in this case.

Blink – I have posted here before, back on Kyron’s thread. Just couldn’t remember the name I had used, my apologies.
I read your site several times a day, and I have to say… My daughter turned 18 Saturday. Throughout the days festivities, I found myself thanking God for allowing me to be her mother. I also found myself thinking of Holly and her mother. My baby girl bears a strong resemblance to Holly. Not only in their features, but my baby is also on her way to nursing school in the fall. As I watched her celebrate another milestone in her life, surrounded by friends and family, I felt a knot in my throat. We as mothers know the pain and agony the Bobo’s are feeling, even if only an ounce of it. Then it occurred to me how painful your work on this story must be. You are a mother as well, and I’ve gathered from reading here, you have reason to believe Holly sadly will not be coming home. This wretched animal that chose to take Holly from those who love her had no intention of allowing her to return. I feel you know the “Who” and the “Why” and I can only imagine how difficult it has to be to hold this information and patiently wait for a resolve. I continue to pray for Holly’s safe return and hope beyond all hope that her Mother will once again be able hold her baby and tell her how much she loves her. I pray that by the grace of God, all the prayers, love and support from your “Blink Family” here on this forum, will be heard and Holly will be found safe and sound. And to you Blink, I send a mountain of gratitude from a Mother who if ever, God forbid, were placed in a situation such as this, would know that you would be there doing everything humanly possible.
And lastly Blink… Are we close? Do you think this nightmare is going to end anytime soon?

I do believe that Holly is with God, and the harm that has befallen her is behind her now.
I also believe he is with this suspects parents and family, and he will help them to do the right thing if they let him in.
I cannot imagine a more difficult task than to not protect someone you love from the inevitable, but this is not fixable and they cannot control the outcome this time.

Search Adult Missing Persons Cold Cases TBI, it is ‘not available’ on their website, as it is available on most State LEO’s website. GA’ is 682 cases. TBI uses the same strategy of silence as the GBI and squanders a very valuable & free resource: ‘the American Pulic via the Media. This strategy is antiquated and only leads to innocent Victims lives being lost and Cold Cases..

i don’t understand why the perp would take holly across the yard and leave a little trail of blood you would think he would just go back the way he came out of the woods next to the carport and back in if this perp used a atv he more then likely would have kept it running so it didn[t have to get started again. furthermore what if she was a witness to a crime the perp did and this is what set the perp off. i am begainning to think maybe the brother new who she was talking to and its his friend but didn’t think the friend would go this far or do something to his sister plus blink is it standard to place cops outside your resident in a kidnapping case what r they trying to protect them from

Blink, all of our thoughts are based on the Holly Bobo case. She and her family have touched people from all over the world. Abductions, stranger and other seems to have become epidemic across the nation. FBI stats say 100,000 missing & murdered across the USA.

Yet Sheriff Wyatt(an honorable man) says, “crimes just don’t happen in small town rural America”..

I have been following here and a few other places and I have some thoughts on who did this, and possibly why.I too feel like you Blink, I feel as if she may be no longer with us, as hard as that is to say. HB-AB Connection? Holly Bobo and A.B. both appear to be 2009 high school graduates from Henderson County. They graduated from different schools, but she might know A.B. from college??? Like someone else said, it simply might be someone she knew that police are checking out because EVERYONE is a supspect. Who knows?
There is a post here (scroll down) that A.B. is 24, which doesn’t make sense if he graduated in 2009 like Holly, who is 20. Maybe there is more than one Aaron Bruce in the area???

Recently, a 17 year old girl in Katy, Texas, was “tricked” into going into the woods by a “friend” who shot her in the head, to keep her quiet. I hope nothing like that happened to Holly, but it does seem as if your theory that she knew the suspect who “escorted” (good word choice by LE, in this case) her into the woods is probably accurate. Blink – I read what you say about what may have finally happened with Holly and find myself agreeing w/you. I did read where someone posted they may be having LE protecting the house. … is that true? Is that something you could report on here? That would seem odd to me. When Desert Storm War started I was on a NATO base visiting my son who was in the military. The day the war started “they” strung up concertina wire around the quarters. I asked my son is this to protect me or am I a prisoner? I wonder about that here too.
Blink – Thank you for the birthday wishes for my girl! I went to Amazon and ordered the Gift of Fear as soon as I read your post. All we as parents can do is gift our children with as much information as we can to “arm” them for the world they are about to step into. Sadly the world does not seem to be as kind as it used to be.

But I remember seeing a few days ago a quick blurb on one of the news wiebsites; that an officer working on Holly’s case was stepping down or no longer working on her case. Is it possible the suspect is related to a LEO? Could that be why he stepped down and why the “random” clues; ie. lunch purse, phone, etc. seem to be turning up in random places? Is the “prominent family” someone in law enforcement?
How much longer is this family going to suffer? I held my girl a bit longer today, before she headed out to work. I reminded her to be aware of her surroundings, lock her doors, and of course, I reminded her how much I love her….

Thank you for your comments. I had found the AB info posted by someone on another blog. Nobody ever said he was a suspect or anything like that, but everyone seemed to agree (on the other blog) that the fb comments were disturbing, if they are even true. People can post anything on the Internet, so the person who wrote that could have just been joking around and made it all up. Who knows? Someone on another blog summed it up really well, “someone probably saw a guy in camo with a girl in pink and called in a tip.” Lots of guys wear camo and girls wear pink everywhere, everyday. Just shows that LE is doing everything they can to check out tips.
It is so sad that someone might be joking around on fb about a girl who is missing, with loved ones, volunteers, LE, and others across the country concerned about her safe return. May God bless HB and her family and watch over them.
My daughter looks like HB, so this story really tugs at my heart. About a year ago, a “gang-banger” looking car with fully tinted windows pulled up to the curb where she was standing and holding her puppy. If I hadn’t been there, behind my van in the driveway, (they couldn’t see me at first) and quickly got her inside the house, who knows what might have happened? Scary! My sweet little girl could have been grabbed in seconds. I also saw that they had a second car waiting a block down the street. It appears their plan was to grab her in one car and then quickly put her in another, so police would search for the wrong car. VERY SCARY! We live in a nice neighborhood, so that doesn’t keep bad guys from driving here from the highway nearby and trolling our streets, to prey on innocent children.
I appreciate the Child Safety link posted by “Foxfire.” I definitely went over the list with my daughter. I don’t take a second with her for granted and feel so blessed that she’s safe. If they are looking at cold cases that are up to 30 years old and there is an unnamed person of interest, then that person is old or older. As in, no less than 50ish years old, maybe a bit younger or older. Just an observation. If it was someone young who abducted Holly, and he was tied to past unsolved cases, he sure isn’t her age or near her age. Just my thoughts.
It can go either way. It all depends on what LE holds and what searchers find. Many dead bodies are found by average people out for a walk or somebody who just happened to stop along a roadside.
connection can be dna they found matches dna from an old case they now have that relative dna thing where they can match dna to another relative by using a relative like the used to catch the grim sleeper killer so its possible they put the blood from hollys case in the system and somehow someway the dna came back a match to the dna in hollys case which would mean two things the perps in the cases r related or its the perp from one of them cases henderson could be where the perp lives or they think he disposed the bodies its possible that their keeping a tight lip because le could be related to the perp thus the thinking the evidence is planted thus the protection of the bobo house and possible why holly would be in hidding if that rumor is true
possible they might have a bad cop in their mist
either way the le needs to let people know whats going on

I agree its wrong to joke at a time like this. I have a teenage daughter and I can only imagine how her family must feel.
When I was 5 and then 22 someone attempted to kidnap me. My Mother taught me well and God had a hand in it. Unfortunately even so it still happens so often. Never enough we can do to stop these sicko crimes! I don’t know why anyone did this to Holly.. revenge, drugs, money or sex. Or crazy ex..
I hope we will know the truth one day. I pray Holly is alive
& either way that justice is served.
The persons responsible will have to answer to God.

i understand things like this happen and there r crazy people out there in the world i always wonder what goes on in peoples minds that do these kinds of things the blood could have been there to throw people off the truth is le is being very tight liped and i think they should give the people who have devoted their time to finding holly and the people who have been praying for her return some answers everyone understands what they can’t give out but no one wants this to turn into a cold case then a year down the road le decides to release info that should have been released when it happend i live in ohio and a recent case the sara maynard case was handle good by le they gave enough updates and the guy lived right down the road from her that ended up being the perp i just think this case can be handled better

Thanks again for your great comments. Sorry to hear you had not 1 but 2 personal experiences with almost being kidnapped. However, I’m glad you had a guardian angel watching over you when you needed it. I’m literally my daughter’s guardian angel. It’s amazing how fast a “Mama Bear” can react ‘n’ run when her “cub” is in trouble, isn’t it?
In Blink’s reply to #18, a book called the “The Gift of Fear” was suggested. I plan to read another book by the same author called “Protecting the gift : keeping children and teenagers safe (and parents sane).” To me, this book is a “gift” to parents!
I’ll leave the speculating to the experts. I’m simply a concerned mom who is praying Holly is returned to her parents very soon! God bless all of you who are keeping up the search for Holly!
LE is tight lipped because they don’t have a single clue who did this.
Don’t believe anyone who says they have inside info either. Nobody knows anything except TBI and they’re at a loss.

I read another blog by someone named Kevin and he said basically the same thing. It is wrong for LE to treat the public like mushrooms, and then take the credit when the victim is finally found. Most of the time it isn’t LE who find the victim on cold cases, it is the public still being interested enough to keep their eyes peeled for clues.

Every year I look forward to law enforcement LEARNING how to use the public to find these poor victims sooner.
You just have to smarter than the dog – as my dad used to say.
We have tools out here that can show a picture in an instant — we can send a msg to hundreds of people at once – we can shoot a video with our cell phones. We have all the toys that LE has and sometimes better.
Why won’t LE use their brains and stop “controlling the public” and instead USE THE PUBLIC. It’s not difficult. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out.
i have looked at the last couple of cases from the past two or three months and it seems that in them cases the le got out has much info that they could provide they may have a reason to keep so tight liped i don’t understand why i don’t understand the maybe we find something maybe we didn’t find something i don’t understand the change from dragged to led i don’t understand the road blocks a week later this case is interesting because its confusing has to whats going on and if the public is confused i could only imagine what the tbi is now its possible m aybe the perp has le connection and their keeping it on the downlow so people in the town don’t get up in arms or this is not a standard kidnapping case and there is something more to it i hate to say it but i think this is heading to a cold case i hope not but it looks that way
