Holly Bobo Missing And Endangered: Are Suspects Naming Themselves- Odd Dodd?

Darden, TN–

On the eve of the 4 week anniversary of missing Darden, TN nursing student, Holly Bobo, new investigative details are being learned about the case. Two unofficial persons of interest have taken their case “public” in a way.

While blinkoncrime.com was aware of this information, a decision was made to withhold it in the interests of the cases “active” status previously.

That was, until today, when one of the known person’s of interests in Holly’s disappearance, outed himself publicly.

Jonathan Dodd, son of Bradley Grafton Dodd, and Dena Logan Dodd, chose the Parsons topix forum to “defend” himself against what he termed “death threats”.

Blink, Editor In Chief of www.blinkoncrime.com, was able to confirm the poster on the topix forum was indeed, Jon Dodd.

Speaking exclusively to www.blinkoncrime on the condition of anonymity, an extended family member of the Dodd family, sheds more light on Master Dodd’s claims.

“.. Yes, that is definitely him. I have no idea how he can say he does not know the Bobo family, he went to Scotts Hill with Holly for a short time. Karen Bobo, Holly’s Mom, worked for Grafton Dodd, his grandfather, when he was the principle of the Parson’s junior High when it was still there, Brad and Grafton are on the school board, there is no way that is true what is said.

Jon Dodd High School List From His myspace

When he is saying something was stolen from the property, he is talking about the ATV you wrote about before, when I saw that, I knew you were aware of him.   Sandy  called the sheriffs department before she knew that Holly was missing to report that their ATV was stolen. Sandy is also the cheer leading coach at Riverside High, since forever, and she got into some minor trouble a few years back because she got caught rigging the tryouts. Nothing major, but everyone knew about it. Dena, his Mom, was a teacher at Riverside shortly after he got transferred, which is weird again.

Everyone in this family has been covering for Jon since he was a kid. I could not believe when he stabbed Brad with a scissors when he was about 8 1/2, there was a big cover up. Last year Dena moved to Gwinnett County because the grands let him get away with anything. He has a baby with Shelby Sellers and nobody really even knew about that until after.

Jon went to the great-grandparents for a while in Arab, Ala in 2006 after the girl was killed in the car accident that got his ass beat up when he said she deserved it, and again, nobody said a word. Brad and Dena started up that Boy Scouts thing for him and (redacted by blink).

What is he talking about? What does donate DNA mean? O that is totally him, I can tell by the “I get paid to hunt” or whatever. Speaking of hunting, the abandoned cabin that volunteers found, when Grafton was told, was when he refused permission for any other searches and they got a warrant. Grafton and Sandy were seen removing a mattress from that part of the property, the one they found in the place where the outhouses were used recently. (redacted) saw him in WalMart, he looked at her and said he did not do it, I swear. Really scary.

He (Jon) did not donate DNA, it was taken from him in the parking lot of Tuckers Diner, he did not have a choice. The LE came there and showed some papers. Grafton’s was taken too, but I don’t know were, I heard it was at the area of the Pugh property, by that Shayne Austin’s parents house.

Another doozie…”

The X Factor

A former boyfriend of Holly Bobo’s, Blake Barnett, is also doing nothing to avoid being scrutinized. It is clear from his facebook postings that he is aware of his “celebrity”, and that folks following this case, are reading.

While it does not make him a bad guy, we have confirmed that he has had a background of  alleged violence, in a former relationship with Holly Bobo.

He was the first name utttered by Holly Bobo’s parents, Dana and Karen, when they learned of her abduction.

That said, there is no known evidence linking Mr. Barnett to Holly’s disappearance.

Barnett is no stranger to violence, unfortunately, Blake, his brother and sister lost their parents Timothy and Janice in a brutal murder in 1993.

John Robinson, with actus reus assistance from his wife Kimberly, murdered both of the Barnett’s because they were after him for bounced checks.

Amelia, Blake’s little sister, was left in her crib for 48 hours before police found her while looking for the Barnett’s.  She survived.

There have been no official suspects or persons of interest named in the disappearance of Holly Bobo in 4 weeks.

There has not been a LE update to her case since May 2.

The search effort for Holly Bobo continues.

Clint Bobo, Holly’s brother, said his and his family’s days are still filled with searching for clues and doing everything they can to help unearth information.”A lot of days, I put up fliers and just try to keep her information out there,” he said. “I would say we are closer now than we have ever been.”

I guess you could take it either way. Looks like the context was searching though not how close or how is your family. Unless they left that part out or Clint offered the info. Idk just another to add to the list that I don’t understand.

  2. constance says:

But how could Clint know they are closer to finding her than they ever have been? Either you find her or you don’t…I can’t think how someone would know if they are closer to finding someone…

Could someone specify or post a link to where Clint said, “they are closer than ever” ??

    Haven’t heard that one….

Yes, as in, LE is closer than ever????

And, B, I love the quilt patterns!

Geez rumors are rampent. Do you guys remember Blink saying it will be shocking once all is revealed? I cant find it and I see nothing shocking about the guys being mentioned. Maybe someones Daddy is the shock factor that has pull and is in a position of trust and would never be expected to go THIS far to cover for his no good kid?

  5. jeff says:

    Gonecountry

It would be shocking if it was an outside family member who did somthing. Furthermore why can’t my symbol be some kind of animal. Just my two cents. (lol)

  6. LaurieO says:

Has LE ever taken dogs and just walked through the city to see if they come up with anything? Can they even do that? Can they use a “hit” from a dog for a search warrant? Pardon my ignorance. I’m just wondering if Holly is hidden in someone’s home that the dogs might get a hit on the trash of that home.

  7. Blink says:

I am afraid I do not know what your asking me- The FBI is investigating this case. I do not know if they are in an assist role to the TBI , or parallel, but I believe there is more than one Federal agency working this case.

If I were a betting person, this screams Federally managed to me.

This is a most frustrating case, but as much as it pains me to say it, I do believe LE is getting where they need to go, in the confines and boundaries they are forced to operate to support a successful prosecution.

To answer the next question I am bound to get:

Yes, I 100% believe this case will be solved, and the idiots that think this is going to go away would be smart to give that concept re-consideration.

At the risk of stating the obvious I offer these few deductions.

It has been discussed here that the perp didn’t expect CB to be home and I find that entirely acceptable.

I don’t recall reading the perp ‘expected’ mom and dad to be gone. It seems such an obvious requirement not a lot of thoughts have been shared around this. It does appear though to be exactly the case.

This perp would have to know when each parent normally left for work.

    Which begs the question how.

    a. Is this person within the Bobo circle of friends and family to that degree? Past or present..

    b. Does this person work or has worked with one or the other parent?

  10. Pennylane says:

Thanks Blink. I emailed you. Found your address before I got your message on privacy

    c. Does this person have a clear and regular view of the Bobo property?

    (a. subnote…..if this person is or has been in the family/friends circle…would they not recognize whatever vehicle CB drove and realize he was indeed there….?)

editorial:…I have found following this and other cases on Blink’s site to be slow and plodding to a maddening degree. That said, the info published here has always been certain, logical and progressive. There is no political agenda, no announced psychics or unannounced psychics proclaiming themselves true witnesses. A scuffle now and then but fairly arbitrated always. The rampant bickering and counterproductive rants of lunatic know-it-alls are expressly and promptly excused. So in a backward sort of way I compliment the hostess and all the efforts the posters bring to this and other tragedies. Prayers for Holly, her family and all victims.

Thank you for that and I appreciate the kind words. We are the sum of our quilts, or quiltie things, lol

I wonder which way le is operating on this case. Are they going one way because they think she is alive or the other way. Just trying to figure out which way le is leaning. Just my two cents.

In general, if LE has no proof she is deceased, they are obligated to operate under the assumption she is alive from an investigation standpoint.

  17. chris says:

Jeff D’s comment about knowing the parents’ AND Clint’s schedule hit on an important point. At first I thought the perp just sat in the woods a few days and figured it out, but it is becoming apparent it was all from within the family or close associates.

LE did always say it was somebody ” very familiar” with the family…..

  18. Cnog says:

I just want to see my quilt square:)

  19. jeff says:

    Chris

Not only would they have to somewhat know the parents schedule. They would have to know holly’s schedule. What if she was on the phone with one of the perps while the another one came up and kidnapped her. This is just a theory. Just my two cents.

  20. Cindy says:

I’ve read this site from the beginning. I wish there was a search option. I think it’s pretty clear that the perp was known to Holly and/or her family, small town and all. Some of Holly’s personal things supposedly were found along the highway near where her father worked and her school. But, her lunch bag was found near a creek bed near Gooch Road. Correct me if I am wrong. Was it the property owner that found that lunch bag? And, if so, is that the connection to JD? I’m grasping at straws trying to connect “knowns” to this crime. Could that property owner be someone related to or very close to the “D” family? Although in a small town everyone is someone’s cousin. JMO

  21. OSUfan says:

Cindy, not sure if this will post or not but I believe the lunch bag was found on the Graves property. Blink , correct me if I am wrong but they are a powerful family whom I believe have been linked to the Dodd’s. Could just be rumor though….

  22. Shefner says:

I like the quilt squares…very neat! Blink, what are the odds of finding Holly alive at some point? How about the odds of finding her deceased? And finally, what are the odds of never finding her?

  23. Saxey says:

It always amazes me that in my lifetime ‘first time ever’ events still occur. The sum total of all of history that has led to this moment in time overwhelms me. I pretty much have adopted the feeling that it’s all been done before. But then when something happens that seems to have no precedent, my philosphy is rocked to the core. In a case like Holly’s disappearance, I struggle to imagine a scenario that would explain everything we know and suspect. Has there ever been another disappearance that has all the same factors that we could look to for reference? Someone with more knowledge and/or research skills may know the answer. In the meantime, I am left once again learning the awful lesson that there is no end to the creativity of those who seek to do harm.

  24. Cindy says:

#23 OSUfan, thanks for the confirmation. Maybe the noose is tightening….JMO.

I don’t know if anyone was following the kenia monge case but the suspect travis forbes led them to the body. I just read this on cnn in the justice section. So hopefully there well be closure in this case soon to. Furthermore I am wondering if the perps got rid of evidence because they feared the cops were on to them and new who they were. Just my two cents.

I do not understand after all this time nothing is being said.
Unless TBI and LE know exactly who they are looking at and are just WAITING….To “UNEARTH” something!!! Clints words!

    All just my opinion!

  27. Jack says:

Blink – do you believe 100% this case will be solved even without finding Holly? It’s hard to believe perps actually think these things will just “go away”. We hear in the news about 10, 20 and 30-yr-old cases being solved all the time. There are people who devote their lives to solving cases like this, and with that kind of determination, these perps don’t stand a chance. And the fact that they’re probably morons is just one more strike against them. My guess is that if they didn’t count on Clint being home that morning, they probably weren’t smart enough to mitigate the incidental consequences. However, the fact that Holly still has not been found makes them either fairly smart or really lucky. At least for now …

  28. jeff says:

I do think if more then one person is involved it might take longer to connect the dots. Maybe their going for the whole bang so to speak. Just my two cents

  29. jess says:

Blink, do you think this case is tied to some other cases from the area?. I saw on topix a poster asked about relationship to the wooded rapist, who is in prison but the mo is in some ways similair, plus his stomping grounds were Nashville. Maybe a copycat. He would break into womens home and rape and beat them with their family in the next room. Just food for thought that this could actually be a stranger to holly. He was a home town good boy who had been bailed out of trouble before much like one of the young men you suspect.

  30. mary d says:

I can’t help but feel that the LE knows the who and why, because Holly’s disappearance had lead them into other criminal activies… I’m assuming that is why the local LE is being left out of the investigation… and because local LE has too many family members and friends that The higher up LE is afraid of leaks…
The same goes for the Bobo family…
This tells me the abductor/abductees are local… and that it is bigger than local LE can handle…
I in NO WAY believe it’s a stalker or predator… He would have attacked her right then and left her there… or had her leave with here without her belongings… Surely if he suprised her, she would drop everything… I would have…
Being her food inside the lunch purse was not eaten, or missing tells me it’s not a man living in the woods either…

  31. constance says:

LE often uncovers other crimes while investigating a murder or a disapperance, without the new crimes being connected in any way. In this case, they likely ran into plenty of drug-related crimes, from what we have heard of the area. I really, really don’t believe that LE has a handle on Holly’s case. I wish I felt differently.

  32. mary d says:

I often wonder if the picture of Holly not smiling, was a picture sent to her mom on Easter… which may have led them to Eaton Rd… her cell phone.. The significant find..

Do you think the reason they have not named a suspect is because the suspect or suspects might be a flight risk? Maybe even sucidal? Could these be reasons why their not naming any suspects? Just my two cents.

They have not named a suspect because it is rare they ever would prior to an arrest or arrests.

  35. constance says:

Holly’s mom says she does not even know if Holly’s phone was found…why wouldn’t she know, if others claim to know this for a fact? In fact, she sounds extremely frustrated with LE all the way around…

    ———————————————————–

Blink, I wondered if LE can just go walking in public places with search dogs/cadaver dogs to see if the dogs find anything. And if they do this, can they get a search warrant based on the dogs indicating they smell something? Make sense? Or am I just way off?

depends. In general, you don’t want to run a track or run a lead for an alert without intelligence of some kind. Dogs will get discouraged, tired, and frankly so will handlers. So while not advisable without a legit lead, they can be used to clear an area as well. This is very tough terrain.

Typically, a final alert will need to be verified, by another k9 or actual remains. At that point, yes, whatever is found would stop, secure the scene, and bring in the CST teams.

I don’t think the person or persons who did this want to be caught. However I do think their begging for attention. I think you can tell a lot by the way someone reacts to a situation, so I am sure Le is paying close attention to their suspect list. Also maybe the immediate family might not talk but if this is a small town. The chances of someone not noticing someone doing something out of character are slim. There just might be more involved in this case then maybe people are customed to. Just my two cents

  42. jeff says:

    Laurie

I too think she is deceased.

  43. chris says:

I’m sticking with my theory that she walked away from her house willingly, unexpectingly, and unknowingly with someone she knew. Other perps/accomplices were waiting at the getaway vehicle. She suddenly rezlized things were amiss and she tried to fight back or escape. The result was her being “accidentally” killed or fatally injured. Now, becuase it was an “accident” and murder wasn’t originally the ultimate goal, the perps and accomplices are covering it all up. More than just the perps know what happened, but they aren’t telling to “protect their own.” Maybe this started as some sort of “prank” or plan for payback to just scare her for something she did. After she was dead, they disposed of the body, but who knows where. I think the family and LE know exactly who did it, but without a body, without any hard evidence, and without somebody talking….they have no way to bring charges. Until somebody ‘fesses up or cracks we will all just be left wondering……Like Jeff, just my $0.02.

    Laurie

I don’t think the person or persons who did this want to be caught.
    —————————————————————-

Jeff, I agree. Maybe I wasn’t clear. What I meant is that this person or persons’ desire to NOT get caught is outweighing the mental stress that drives some criminals to confess. Some people just cannot take the guilt and turn themselves in. Very sad that this has not happened in this case. I think the community would be relieved if they knew it started off one way and with one intention and it “went bad”. Not that that makes any of this excusable.

Some have said on here that they think that murder was not the original intention, but maybe kidnapping or revenge with the intent of no one getting hurt. I disagree because everyone knows that if you kidnap someone, they are not just going to walk away when you release them and say, “Oh thanks for not killing me. I won’t tell anyone what you did.” It just seems that kidnapping HAS to involve an intent to harm. Just my opinion.

Blink, thanks for the explanation you gave me.

  45. LaurieO says:

I think I just totally contradicted myself. I shouldn’t post this late!

  46. jeff says:

    Laurie

I just get the feeling Holly was a secondary option. She just happened to be outside when the perp or perps came to the house. I just think they were after another family member that morning. Just my two cents.

  47. BeccaD says:

Hi, I’ve posted a couple of times on here and don’t really have anything new to add. BUT….COME ON HUNTING SEASON!!! There will be hunters ‘high and low’ in those woods and someone is bound to find something! Maybe bring Holly home. May God bless and ease the pain of the Bobo family.

  49. constance says:

I don’t know why this person would figure no one else was at home, if Clint’s vehicle was there as well as Holly’s. I think this was either someone who came to see Holly for some reason but not meaning to abduct her at first, or else someone who saw her/stalked her and didn’t even bother to think whether anyone else might be in the house. After all, Clint WAS there and it didn’t stop the abduction from taking place.
