Holly Bobo Missing And Endangered: Are Suspects Naming Themselves- Odd Dodd?

Darden, TN–

On the eve of the 4 week anniversary of missing Darden, TN nursing student, Holly Bobo, new investigative details are being learned about the case. Two unofficial persons of interest have taken their case “public” in a way.

While blinkoncrime.com was aware of this information, a decision was made to withhold it in the interests of the cases “active” status previously.

That was, until today, when one of the known person’s of interests in Holly’s disappearance, outed himself publicly.

Jonathan Dodd, son of Bradley Grafton Dodd, and Dena Logan Dodd, chose the Parsons topix forum to “defend” himself against what he termed “death threats”.

Blink, Editor In Chief of www.blinkoncrime.com, was able to confirm the poster on the topix forum was indeed, Jon Dodd.

Speaking exclusively to www.blinkoncrime on the condition of anonymity, an extended family member of the Dodd family, sheds more light on Master Dodd’s claims.

“.. Yes, that is definitely him. I have no idea how he can say he does not know the Bobo family, he went to Scotts Hill with Holly for a short time. Karen Bobo, Holly’s Mom, worked for Grafton Dodd, his grandfather, when he was the principle of the Parson’s junior High when it was still there, Brad and Grafton are on the school board, there is no way that is true what is said.

Jon Dodd High School List From His myspace

When he is saying something was stolen from the property, he is talking about the ATV you wrote about before, when I saw that, I knew you were aware of him.   Sandy  called the sheriffs department before she knew that Holly was missing to report that their ATV was stolen. Sandy is also the cheer leading coach at Riverside High, since forever, and she got into some minor trouble a few years back because she got caught rigging the tryouts. Nothing major, but everyone knew about it. Dena, his Mom, was a teacher at Riverside shortly after he got transferred, which is weird again.

Everyone in this family has been covering for Jon since he was a kid. I could not believe when he stabbed Brad with a scissors when he was about 8 1/2, there was a big cover up. Last year Dena moved to Gwinnett County because the grands let him get away with anything. He has a baby with Shelby Sellers and nobody really even knew about that until after.

Jon went to the great-grandparents for a while in Arab, Ala in 2006 after the girl was killed in the car accident that got his ass beat up when he said she deserved it, and again, nobody said a word. Brad and Dena started up that Boy Scouts thing for him and (redacted by blink).

What is he talking about? What does donate DNA mean? O that is totally him, I can tell by the “I get paid to hunt” or whatever. Speaking of hunting, the abandoned cabin that volunteers found, when Grafton was told, was when he refused permission for any other searches and they got a warrant. Grafton and Sandy were seen removing a mattress from that part of the property, the one they found in the place where the outhouses were used recently. (redacted) saw him in WalMart, he looked at her and said he did not do it, I swear. Really scary.

He (Jon) did not donate DNA, it was taken from him in the parking lot of Tuckers Diner, he did not have a choice. The LE came there and showed some papers. Grafton’s was taken too, but I don’t know were, I heard it was at the area of the Pugh property, by that Shayne Austin’s parents house.

Another doozie…”

The X Factor

A former boyfriend of Holly Bobo’s, Blake Barnett, is also doing nothing to avoid being scrutinized. It is clear from his facebook postings that he is aware of his “celebrity”, and that folks following this case, are reading.

While it does not make him a bad guy, we have confirmed that he has had a background of  alleged violence, in a former relationship with Holly Bobo.

He was the first name utttered by Holly Bobo’s parents, Dana and Karen, when they learned of her abduction.

That said, there is no known evidence linking Mr. Barnett to Holly’s disappearance.

Barnett is no stranger to violence, unfortunately, Blake, his brother and sister lost their parents Timothy and Janice in a brutal murder in 1993.

John Robinson, with actus reus assistance from his wife Kimberly, murdered both of the Barnett’s because they were after him for bounced checks.

Amelia, Blake’s little sister, was left in her crib for 48 hours before police found her while looking for the Barnett’s.  She survived.

There have been no official suspects or persons of interest named in the disappearance of Holly Bobo in 4 weeks.

There has not been a LE update to her case since May 2.

The search effort for Holly Bobo continues.

    Hi Rob Bank

I was just trying to make the point that the person who showed up on that day was already prearranged. I just read about the other case and thought maybe they were related. I realized after I posted my comment they weren’t because it’s two different set off variables. Either way its tragic in both cases.

  2. Rob Bankert says:

yes it is all tragic Jeff but I am up here in Delaware and been folowing this case since the begining. I guess it is just getting to me that we don’t have the slimeball locked up yet and we dont know if Holly is Alive. I know Blink has more or less told me she is not but I dont want to give up hope. Holly come home soon

    Hi rob

I agree with your slimeball comment. I just don’t understand why no arrest. Law enforcement has arrested or at least named suspects for less. Unless this case is so complex that they can’t do anything. I did read that Elizabeth Smart was down there calling for action. A lot of questions in this case.

I’ve been following this case since the beginning and why hasn’t this community pulled together to flush the perp or perps out of the woodwork? There have been a lot of people questioned in this case, but no one has delivered the “one step away” clue that LE is looking for??? What is everyone afraid of in this town?
This case is so frustrating, keep praying for resolution.

  9. Kim says:

I’ve been searching and can’t find it…what is the name of the book you’ve suggested many times? Something about fear?

The Gift of Fear- Gavin DeBecker. There are a few additions, I would read anything he writes.

Read it, buy them as gifts ( I do not get any renumeration, I firmly believe this book will save lives at one time or another) I appreciate you taking the time to ask.

One day I will tell my red pick up story, not soon, but one day.

    Hi Blink

I have been following the Holly Bobo case on your website for quite some time as well as reading the news articles and I have never read any details about the type of camouflage the abductor was wearing. Was it military or hunting? If hunting, what type was it? There are a lot of different types of hunting camouflage – i.e. leaf type, brown vs. green, etc. Was it pants and shirt and jacket or just jacket? Once identifying the type of camouflage, would it be possible to find a local sports store that would have a record of sales of that kind of camouflage prior to Holly’s abduction?

Along that same line of thought, since the abduction seemed like it was very well planned, do you know if the police searched hunting license purchases and any kind of game tags purchased to hunt in that area of the state? (In Washington State you buy a license and then a tag to hunt a specific type of animal such as a turkey or deer or pheasant etc. and whether you are going to hunt in eastern Washington or western Washington. My thoughts are that the abductor may have purchased a license and tag so if he was discovered sneaking around the Bobo residence prior to the abduction, he could have then said he was hunting. I know it is kind of a long shot of an idea but at this point it seems that long shots are all that are left.

Straight up non-descript camo, not military.

Thanks for posting this first-time. Who believes a dog finds a missing woman’s purse and drops it at this back door?

Not me. It is definitely her bag, but what dog is bringing a 2 year old weathered empty pocketbook back when they obviously have the run of the property for proper prey or remnants.

Sounds like a splanation as to how something got where it should not be.

Nevermind – I answered my own question. Jason Todd’s family lives/owns lots of property in that area, according to Blink’s earlier piece:

    That is correct.

  25. first-time says:

Just thinking out loud… if someone is trying to do some ‘splaining about how the backpack got where it was, I wonder how the authorities were notified of its location? family? friend? anonymous tip? Have there been recent searches in this area?

Excellent Question. Could also be they found it earlier and are just releasing it now. However, the dog found our evidence theory is absolutely non-committal to anything but where it was located.

It would be my sincere hope that it leads to Holly. As you recall, I am on the record this is a local, he knows her, and she will be very close to where she went missing, ultimately.

When I see a disorganized offender like this resulting in a mp of over 2 years- I think compromised scene or evidence, or I think containment in an area or structure known only to the offender or those closest that would not necessarily check it out.

I am talking about legacy stuff. Like forgotten caves, once upon a time duck blinds or cabins long abandoned. I would be asking her age group males where they used to play, and where they used to hunt as a youth. She’s there. For the umpteenth time- this is local. Who in her circle is unaccounted for and without corroborated alibis?

Do y’all see how this goes back to the very beginning?

  26. RanRay says:

Blink~This is my first time posting on your site. I do read regularly. This case strikes my interest because it is close to where I live (only about 30 minutes away/the next town over). I was thinking about the dog “digging” up the bag. They said on the news that it was “dug” up. Do you think perhaps the dog smelled something else? (and I sooooo hate to say this) but maybe a “dead” smell and that is why he was digging? Is this dog “new” to the area? Did a family just get this dog? Is it a puppy? (because puppies tear stuff apart and play with it. Or was it a fully grown/older dog who typically just doesn’t pick up random items to play with. Most older dogs wouldn’t have dug without a smell of something.) Or was this dog living in this area when she disappeared? Because if that is so then it just doesn’t add up as to why the dog just now found it! (Could have been penned/chained up and got loose) Also if it wasn’t buried then I personally don’t think it has been there since the beginning of her missing since all of the places even remotely close to her home were searched multiple times with a fine tooth comb!!! Also maybe someone wanted the person to be found maybe someone is feeling guilty???? I am remaining hopeful for Holly but you can’t help but have doubt. I pray for closure for her and her family. Thanks!!!!

    Welcome RanRay.

Blink – over at Topix someone is talking about the area of Box and Myracle road and someone with the initials BRK living very nearby. Are you aware of who BRK is? I haven’t been successful in figuring it out.
Do we know if private property in tha area was searched previously by LE? I wonder if the find will result in search warrants of nearby property. I can’t imagine denying LE’s requests to search (if they have/will request it) if you have nothing to do with the disappearance. Of course, it seems like some families there are more interested in protecting their own instead of bringing Holly home to her family, IMO.

    1. Do not read topix. It is the equivalent of snorkeling in a cess pool naked. It is the home of the keyboard cowboy/girl who believes they can post anything anonymously they want without trace and let me tell you THEY DO. Except recent regulation will make them sorry, to say the least.

    2. I do believe there is familial legacy involved.

In fairness, I think that when you have significant land ownership and legacy authority in a community, one better bring in a neutral investigative arm.

Someone to say I do not give a rats ass who you are, what you own, what jobs you assign, because I am not a member of this community and I work for Holly Bobo.

It would be my prayer that at long last, Holly’s parents ask for just that- with fervor.

    Craiglist Ad ATV Tires- Jackson

As the search perimiters in previous days were located 6 and 8 miles away from Bobo’s home, where items of hers are believed to have been recovered, it begs the question, why would the focus turn to nearly 2 miles away from the Swan Johnson address of the Bobo’s, to Myracle Town Rd, in the opposite direction? Do investigators think the suspect has been trying to send them in the opposite location by planting evidence?

Police are interviewing neighbors in this Myracle Town Rd. and Box Rd. area today, as well as stopping motorists, of which there are very little. A different tactic indeed.

Could sniffer dogs find the spot where the purse was dug up? Would LE be allowed to bring them onto Dodd land? What if they had a search warrant? And the backpack/purse looks empty so I wonder what happened to her books and things?

  37. jeff says:

    Hi blink

Been following this case for two years now. Finding the purse behind a neighbors house two years later makes me wonder if the searches at the time weren’t compromised. Reason I say this is because area’s searched seemed to come up with stuff after the search. So maybe the perp was being watched and burying evidence behind an area already searched was the best option.

There is no doubt in my mind that searches were compromised in this case.

    It’s her bag.

  40. jeff says:

    Hi blink

Whats going on with this case one minute they report the backpack/purse found is holly’s next it isn’t. One report says the mother says its holly’s next, she retracts her statement. This case has been confusing from the get go. Do you have any idea’s has to what is going on here?

    Disjointed mess.
    B

  41. jeff says:

    Hi blink

I can understand the disconnect between the family and le. However I can’t find anything from the intial reporting in the begainning of a pink backpack being mention has being with Holly at the time of her abduction. If they found stuff in the bag indicated the bag is holly’s. Which I do not know if they did or didn’t/. Wouldn’t it raise flags about the family.

  42. Cindy says:

This “disjoint” as noted above – what are the normal causes of this reaction? Is it time, lack of faith, or something else?

  43. Word Girl says:

So strange. The purse looks like the one we’ve seen in photos and I felt like it was her bag. Karen thought so, too, when she saw a photo of the bag.

Would Law Enforcement ever ask a family to lie about a discovery in order to assuage or mislead a suspect?

I have no information that occurred in this case, I was told that Mrs. Bobo identified the purse initially, but did you notice now the purse was found in the hills v the dog dropped it off?

    Oy Vey.
    B

  44. Word Girl says:

Right. The dog driving up with the goods was not exactly credible.

Then I heard the dog brought it up to a neighbor’s yard, another report said it was brought to the neighbor’s door.

It may have been buried and dogs were instructed to carry it (‘take it home’) but on their own, I just don’t think so. Why am I picturing two dawgs?
This case is a mess and the bad reporting of bad information isn’t helping

    Yes ma’am, all of that.
    B

  45. Cindy says:

Wow, just wow, what a mess this is…..the hills? the dog???
Family disconnect…. TBI….. after all this time did the Bobo family ever hire a great private investigator cause doing this on their own isn’t working? In my humble opinion.

  46. jeff says:
