LISTEN TONIGHT LIVE AT 9 PM ET TO DANA PRETZER ON SCARED MONKEYS RADIO

Dana welcomes special guests:

  • Crime blogger Blink from Blink on Crime will be discussing the shocking jury verdict of “not guilty” in the murder trial of Casey Anthony. In a head spinning decision, the jury in Orlando, FL took 10 hours of deliberations and came back with a “not guilty” verdict which begs the questions, is it “reasonable” that a jury could have watched the same trial everyone else did and let the tot mom skate on all major accounts … where is the Justice for Caylee? Blink will add her analysis and insight as to what occurred.

Pat Brown - Criminal profiler will be discussing the murder trial of Casey Anthony and yesterdays shocking verdict. Pat will provide her expert opinion as to Casey Anthony. The jury found her not guilty, but if not Casey, then who? What will Pat’s reaction be to Casey Anthony skating on all major charges. How did Casey Anthony walk?

Tim Miller – the founder of Texas Eqqusearch (TES) joins Dana to discuss his reaction to the Casey Anthony verdict, was it much different from the wild goose chase and runaround that TES received when conducted the searches for Caylee Anthony.

Doing yard work but things keep popping to mind, sorry.

I still don’t understand how the pool photos of Caylee from a year prior were ALLOWED to be presented as evidence. Evidence to fantasy statements made in the DT opening . . . statements that were NOT to be taken as evidence?

Linda Drane Burdick raised objections repeatedly to each photo shown by JB, referring to the previous State’s objections made at sidebar regarding those photos.

Too bad the State can’t appeal based on objections or ruling errors if any were made.

    Dear Blink,

Honestly, as I am typing this there are tears forming in my eyes. My heart breaks for you because I know how very hard you work on behalf of those with no voice.

The urge to write you has come up several times as your work on Kyron Horman is incredible. This isn’t a letter for the forum, but for you. There is so much in your being that pushes you forward and helps you to excel. Please do not allow what you believe to be a ‘failure’ discourage or impede your incredible journey. Do not let the course of this week turn your river, allow it to serve you to surge forward. In all of this, including the strike on the tree near Caylee’s remains is merely a reminder of a Higher Power. Was just compelled to remind you this in not your failure–but a part of a plan none of us are privy to. (that keeps me sane at times.)
You are an amazing spirit. Your Light and your beauty are to be protected and prayed for, and there are those that do this daily.
Take care of you, Mr. Blink, and the Blinksters. Do not let the trolls zap your energy.
Many sincere thanks for what you do. Caylee is Home. (that keeps me sane) Her ‘family’ has created hell upon this Earth and this is how they will breathe their waking hours. I’m not a very traditional religious being but somehow I know the vengence will be served.
Exhale, take care and open your receiving hands to the love and Light you have created. This is hard for you to hear, but we’re all mearly human. Show yourself some of the compassion you show others, it will do your spirit a world of good. Bright blessings to one of this Earth’s brightest stars.
    In love and respect,
    Trish

    Thank you kindly Trish.

If anyone has any remedy to this feeling I have of such despair over this injustice, please post. How do we move on? How do I get this case out of my everyday thinking?

I know where you are coming from. I keep telling myself this just can’t be real. Something keeps telling me this isn’t over and I am really beginning to believe it. Do not lose hope, something to help us accept this will come along. I firmly believe Casey will pay for what she did.

Casey Anthony will have it so rough out of jail that she will also realize the jury made the wrong decision. The people of the U.S.A. need to stick together and continue to voice their opinions when it comes to Caylee. No support for the Anthony’s

This jury could in no way took the time to look at all the evidence. We would still be there if I would have been on that jury.

What makes me also feel better is realizing how many people just in my community have followed this case and are appalled at the verdict. I was in our grocery the other day and struck up a converstion with someone I did not know concerning the case. It cleared my head a little and made me feel good inside to know that she has so much love and support for Caylee. Caylee is bringing people together. This case has touched my family in such a powerful way. My husband did not watch the trial. He just wanted to here the guilty verdict and when he didn’t, he was so angry. It opened the door for me to see a different side of my husband. I saw that his heart was broken for a child he never knew and it touched me. So Sweet Caylee, we will not let your death go in vain at the Myers’ home. You are creating bonds and friendships through out the world.

Ummmmmm…excuse me, wtf is this? is this post real???

“Now that the trial is over I can finally have my say. Shortly after I was picked as a juror along with the 14 others, I was approached by a member of the Baez team. I was offered a payment of $10,000 if I would hold out as a non-guilty verdict and thus, hang the jury. This didn’t need to occur and no payment was ever received. “On The Jury”

whether it is or not, I cant get rid of my gut feeling since the verdict…something is up . how could all these jurors just randomly assemble and end up to be practically the only people in the world who would agree on that verdict so quickly? the only people who somehow ONLY remember the defense’s case in all of their answers not even acknowledging anything from the prosecution. it sounds like people who are ‘finding’ reasons in their answers, not confident as when people really believe something. remember throughout the whole trial, rarely took notes, left notebooks behind for deliberations.

kinda weird too it was abc who paid casey/baez that 250K
it was abc who got to Jennifer Ford before anyone else had a chance to land the first “exclusive” interview and she happened to assemble 4 guests and suddenly end-up in Disney world pretty quickly- like as soon as she left the courthouse.

Simon and Schuster is owned by CBS. Besides the pubilisher… please send a boycott letter to CBS and it’s parent company Viacom. Also, ABC has admitted that they did not pay Juror Jennifer Ford for an interview, but they did send her and 3 friends to Disney world. Disney is the parent company of ABC. Send boycott letters to Disney and any company you see advertise on their channels or websites. Please pass along social networking. Thanks

    Dear (Name or Company name),

As a concerned and loyal American citizen, I will no longer purchase products from companies that advertise, support and/or intend to profit from Casey Anthony, the Anthony family, Casey’s defense Team or anyone that sat on the Jury.

Using the death of Caylee Anthony for monetary gain is unacceptable and disgusting. I refuse to support any company who believes it is ok to exploit innocent children. Particularly under such disturbing circumstances.

I hope your company will join me in the support and pursuit of a stronger, better America that no longer tolerates or supports persons or corporate entities that purposefully profit from the exploitation of children.

“It’s also quite possible the cousin in Houston and that branch of the family do know more than we have heard. She states that the real story is pending. According to her and the whole truth according to the clan, justice HAS been done so far.”

    *********************************************************

Personally, I’ve completely discounted this especially since it was confirmed that Casey hasn’t even spoken to her mother. (Cousin said she was speaking for CA’s side of the family only, and something to the effect of ‘no-one knew this until the trial was over’….ahem.)

I do think they (her and or her family) will try to ‘smooth’ the story over attempting to fool the public who may not be as intimately familiar with the case details. I believe this will be done with yet ‘another’ cock-a-mammy story.

Their only hope to reap some dough out of this is to try to tamp it down and curb the vitriol. And deflecting the truth has been the same modus operandi since day one; it’s certainly self evident ‘the transparent truth’ has never been their aim. I still think it will fail, and I don’t want to say why because the attorneys have already acknowledged gleaning from these ‘social media’ sites.

(Note to ATG – you’re welcome for the reports, thanks for acknowledging them. Many moons ago when I regularly posted, it was “Riddle” for short. Nice to meet you, have enjoyed your posts)

    Hello Friends,
While I don’t believe there was any jury tampering, I do think it is wise to take the financial incentive out of high profile cases. Prospective jurors might lie about their backgrounds and impartiality to get a spot on a jury that will be sought after by the media. Verdicts might be rendered as to sensationalize a case for profit. There is a petition out now to prevent jurors from profiting from their duty. This is to ensure the integrity of our jury system. Please sign.

@foobros, myers, kelly, ragdoll and so many others, great posts. I keep coming back to BOC desperate for just a crumb of comfort. I rejoice when someone posts that a lucrative contract has been withdrawn. I have signed every petition I can find, have emailed Simon & Schuster here in the UK imploring them to take note of public outrage at the travesty of justice in the death of Caylee Anthony. I’ve even just bought a sequinned bolero off of ebay to cheer myself up!! How sad is that!! I cannot settle, find myself tearful, anxious, angry, the whole works. How long will this feeling go on for, it’s a physical pain that I cannot shake off. Will all you Blinksters continue to visit here for sometime yet? Will I be able to come here still to rant and mourn? What more can we do to seek justice? I know everyone is posting well meaning remedies but they don’t work for me, I hug my kids and grand children every God given opportunity. I do all the NICE things BUT my inner being wants to lash out at the Anthonys, the Jury, the Defense team. I’m even finding myself questioning Judge Perry’s instructions to the Jury; did he properly explain that they were NOT in any way to give credence to opening and closing statements, just the evidence? Did he make it plain that if they had ANY difficulty in understanding any aspect of the charges, he was available to advice? Did he make it perfectly understood that they could vote for murder without the slightest chance Casey would receive the DP? Last question, if it were to be discovered that the Jury had been ‘knobbled’ am I right in thinking Casey could not be re-tried but what about the Jury members? Is it a serious crime to not carry out your civic duty as instructed by the Judge? Put me out of my misery someone please!!!

Chelsea, The best way to get Simon and Schuster to pay attention is to let them know you will be contacting theur AUTHORS to let them know there will be a boycott on THEIR books. On the S&S home page you can find many of their top authors. Ironically enough, one of them is V.C. Andrews who wrote the Flowers in the Attic series, which had a brother/sister incest theme. Jose referenced this in his opening statement, referring to Casey as a “flower in the attic”. UGH I wonder If V.C. Andrews approves of Baez invoking her title as a babykiller’s defense. Thank you Blink, on that note, for continuing your work. You have no idea how much passion you spark in those- even those who have twisted the truth to suit their needs. You have forever changed me for the better and I see the world through open eyes.

In some ways I kind of feel sorry for the 6 jurors that wanted manslaughter. I feel they were bullied into changing their minds by the other 6 jurors that wanted not guilty. In other ways, I’m ticked off they didn’t stand their ground. I bet the guilty vote jurors were pushed to feel they weren’t making a smart choice. Jennifer Ford was probably one of the pushers to get not guilty verdict. This older lady (juror 12), seems weak, she’s gone into hiding….she was probably one of the jurors that wanted guilty.

I’m thinking of writing Disney and ABC to inform them…. they just gave a Disneyworld trip to a bully (among other things she is, but I wont go there)!

    —————————————–

    Slowroller,

I believe I may have watched the shows you are speaking of. I actually watched a few of them Saturday night. The one that sticks out the most was the Dateline rerun on TLC where a man was convicted of murdering his wife. Her body was never recovered, but he was found guilty, retried and found guilty again. He is now appealing his conviction. I am of the same belief as you that the ICA jury, who IMO was not only drinking the casey koolaid, but inhaling the casey choloroform, would have acquitted this man.

    https://www.change.org/petitions/the-us-supreme-court-try-casey-anthony-in-federal-court#comments

The Fifth Amendment does not protect a person from being tried by two or more separate governments. Thus, both the federal government and the state government are able to charge and prosecute one person for the same criminal act, which is often the case for drug related crimes. As well, two or more states can prosecute and try a person for the same criminal act. People need to start a website for FBI to file murder charges against Casey Anthony on the federal level!!!! FBI HAS JURISDICTION TO REFILE MURDER CHARGES AGAINST ANTHONY WITHOUT IT BEING DOUBLE JEOPARDY PLEASE GET THIS INFO OUT TO EVERYONE

I`m not here to defend anybody and there is absolutely nothing in it for me and the suggestion of such is actually quite insulting but i`m a big boy who doesn`t cry….

I`m not looking to pick an argument with anybody, in fact if there were more people like you guys in the world then we`d all be so much happier. The disappointment and disgust at the verdict is pretty obvious for all to see but to suggest a man is weak because of financial troubles is a bit extreme, especially in economic times like these.

I dare to say that no matter who represented Casey Anthony the outcome would have been the same.

Blink, I have the utmost respect for all you do and when I found this site I considered it a positive tool to somehow help in finding answers to the most heartbreaking questions posed in some peoples lives. I have very little to contribute only my opinion on how I see things.

Homicide by undetermined means is the most ridiculous thing i`ve ever heard, what exactly does it mean and what is the basis for this?

Liam- it means that the Medical Examiner has concluded Caylee was a victim of homicide, based on her remains and medico legal investigation findings. There is no doubt about her manner of death, and her cause of death is irrelevant to the jury since it could not be determined based on the fully skeletonized remains.

Our hometown paper ran this article today, if anyone is interested. It kind of outlines the parallels between Peterson and Anthony. As I have said, the Peterson case was big here as I live in the same town he lived. Interestlingly enough, the Modesto Bee has been criticized over the years that it would find any reason to run an op-ed piece about the Peterson case, i.e.-1st anniversary of Laci reported missing and so on each year, 1st anniversary of discovery of remains, and so on and so on each year. I dont remember when, but eventually the stories stopped. Kind of weird that here is Scotts face again on the front page of my paper, with quotes from some of the most critical at one time. You will have to navigate to the “related links” from the main story to see everything…Sadly, I am sure Scott’s appeals team has taken notes on the ICA case…

Group think – idiocy – apathy —- whatever it was that affected this jury, it was completely and wholly wrong. So severe an injustice there are no words.

I still have not yet discovered a way to process this. It’s just one of those things for which there is no real answer. Some things in life don’t make sense. Some things are simply wrong. And there is evil in this world that sometimes appears to win the battle. It will not win the war.
