LISTEN TONIGHT LIVE AT 9 PM ET TO DANA PRETZER ON SCARED MONKEYS RADIO

Dana welcomes special guests:

  • Crime blogger Blink from Blink on Crime will be discussing the shocking jury verdict of “not guilty” in the murder trial of Casey Anthony. In a head spinning decision, the jury in Orlando, FL took 10 hours of deliberations and came back with a “not guilty” verdict which begs the questions, is it “reasonable” that a jury could have watched the same trial everyone else did and let the tot mom skate on all major accounts … where is the Justice for Caylee? Blink will add her analysis and insight as to what occurred.

Pat Brown - Criminal profiler will be discussing the murder trial of Casey Anthony and yesterdays shocking verdict. Pat will provide her expert opinion as to Casey Anthony. The jury found her not guilty, but if not Casey, then who? What will Pat’s reaction be to Casey Anthony skating on all major charges. How did Casey Anthony walk?

Tim Miller – the founder of Texas Eqqusearch (TES) joins Dana to discuss his reaction to the Casey Anthony verdict, was it much different from the wild goose chase and runaround that TES received when conducted the searches for Caylee Anthony.

Juror No. 2 said the first vote was 10-2 against convicting her of first-degree murder and 6-6 on the manslaughter charge.

He said he initially voted to convict Anthony because he believed she was negligent – but he eventually decided to acquit.

“We didn’t know how she died, we didn’t know when she died,” the juror said of Caylee. “Technically, we didn’t even know where she died.”

@Kathy – Haha…thanks. I would love for that message to get around enough they hear it. But then again, they probably wouldn’t get it as they weren’t really paying attention to the State’s case. I would love to interview them and start with “Let’s talk cause of death (since they ‘required’ it)…would you have let Scott Peterson walk?”

If you recall Tom Capano’s brother ratted him out and confessed to helping him move the body, IIRC.

    Blink,

I’ve been sickened for many weeks now, wondering about comments and discussions made here a long, long time ago, hypothesizing what the crazy story from the defense may be, and how uncanny the opening statements were.

I remember from long ago all the worlds a stage and GA was preparing for his role in a “I thought you were watching Caylee … no I thought you were watching her” BS scenario. Emphasis on the BS.

fwiw, I don’t believe George Anthony ever saw little Caylee on June 16th.

Never did. I do declare he would like to take that back.
    B

    ********************************************************************

This case… all three years of it…has lasted so long that I have long since forgotten most of what I learned and thought except a few major points: one is George’s story of saying goodbye to Caylee on her way to the nanny (or “baby sitter” for those of the declasse’ section) and her Little Miss Success Story Mom on her way to her enviable Universal career is one of the major fables of the case.

I alway figured that George had, somehow, to get whatever happened to Caylee some distance away from the provenance of the house. I think a good deal of self- preservation on Goerge’s part is included in his tale because, for one reason, he could never trust Casey not to implicate him in something and Cindy to take Casey’s part.

And then there’s his 3:04 p.m. phone call to the house that day. Why? Cindy was at work. Casey was “at work”. He said “buh-by” to her. Right? So who’s call was he returning? Or on whom was he trying to check?

Kathi Belich sat down with Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton:

I encourage everyone who has not seen this interview to do so. Jeff looks tired. He is so endearing, and he makes so much sense. Plus, forgive me, he’s very handsome, and has a lot of cute mannerisms. Very likeable. I was surprised at how many times Kathy Belich asked him to get into the minds of jurors when clearly after the first time she asked, he wasn’t going to go there. I’m wondering why we haven’t heard a word out of Linda Drane Burdick
    ********************************************************************

Linda and Frank are still SA’s with the state of FLA.. Jeff is retired and may feel a great deal more freedom to speak or has been “unleashed” as Miz Nancy would say, to discuss some aspects of the case… to a point.

This also means she doesn’t have Post-traumatic stress (whether she was abused or not, we don’t know, but she is not living out the trauma now, some don’t, some do forever)

Folks it ain’t over until we hear that lady sing and we got a long way to go for that perhaps. We could view this as just a twist in the road as we have no idea where it will go or how the Justice for Caylee will manifest, though it might not be in a court of law.

The mission of the Florida Fully Informed Jury Association is to educate the citizens of Florida regarding their full powers as jurors, including their ability to rely on personal conscience, to judge the merit of the law and its application, and to nullify bad law, when necessary for justice, by finding for the defendant
This could apply other ways too

Liam says, I believe Casey Anthony put her daughter in danger somehow and it turned out the worst. I don`t believe she ever intended in killing Caylee, there is no evidence of it.

@Liam, and what evidence that was presented at trial makes you think that? As far as her intentions go, do all those computer searches about chloroform, breaking necks, making weapons out of household items, etc. mean nothing to you? They should because they are EVIDENCE. We know Cindy and George didn’t make them. These searckes were so incriminating and suggestive of premeditation that Cindy willfully perjured herself in an effort to save her spawn from the DP. Hmmmm…who does that leave? CA. And yes, premeditation.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Liam says, “Panic and grief stricken I believe Casey devised a plan, to make it seem like something completely different had happened, like a kidnapping/murder, trouble is, turns out now the whole world thinks she is a murderer when I genuinely believe she is not.”
    @Liam, if you would kindly direct me to the EVIDENCE/testimony presented during the trial that would suggest that she was EVER grief-stricken or panicked during those 31 days after Caylee died. There is no evidence whatsoever. In fact, her roomies and friends all said she acted normal, same as usual.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Liam says, “To leave her daughter`s body where she did is absolutely shocking and cold-hearted, if she was indeed responsible for that.

@Liam, did you watch the entire trial? If so, you would realize this: *IF* you followed the evidence trail and didn’t take the fork to the Twilight Zone, the ONLY person who could have put Caylee in that trash dump/swamp was CA. Not George. Not Cindy. Not Lee. Not Kronk. Not Rumplestilskin, for cripes’ sake. CA.

  8. Solange says:

Blink, I’ve just heard something very disturbing-sick making. Wonder if you know if you’ve heard of this.

A legal analyst: Wendy Murphy-a legal analyst, law professor and child advocate, has said Caysee may have been involved in child prostitution/child porn, in pimping Caylee out, and that the evidence for this has been under seal; that the prosecution has known about this. And that perhaps if these photos/evidence can be unsealed prior to Caysee getting out of jail, there may be a chance that she could be charged w/sexual abuse/child prostitution charges. Have you heard anything about this? It is so upsetting I can’t believe it, but you know, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if true.

It did help to clear my head somewhat. As did reading the Op Ed from the NY Times (thanks for sharing). It helped to articulate so nicely a summary of the truth. This will NEVER happen again I’m sure of it – seems almost to be a watershed moment somehow – the end is no where in sight.

I am still sick over this. I keep hearing some talking heads like Geraldo and a couple of jurors saying there was NO proof of murder, NO manner of death and so on. WTF? I’ve said all along this should not have been a death penalty case but HOW IN THE HELL did they find her NOT guilty of aggravated child abuse. This just does not make any sense to me. Someone, somehow got to ALL 12 of these jurors. I am as sure of that as I was about a guilty verdict. LOL’s They’ve also said they could not kill her based on the evidence. Why are they saying that? You have to convict first then decide the penalty. Very, very confusing.

Whatever it was, I hope it was significant and thank you, Blink, for holding onto it until you deem it the most valuable time to share. Except it is intriguing and difficult to wait…

  18. Jnpgh says:

To dear Blink and all on this site…

I thought a lot about this case over the weekend and know in my bones that this was a true miscarriage of justice. Casey did it – even if her enabling family lied so many times over, that at the end – I don’t think that even can remember what happened and in what order. But you know that they each will indeed have their ownn “spin” …probably several versions depending on who is doing the writing.

And there unfortunately are going to be those cases – such as Jon Benet Ramsey – where we will never have justice and where we will have to trust that someday the truth will come out.

That said …please allow me the following comments:

    1) deliberating only 11 hours??? That is just too bizarre…The jurors didn’t even have time to substantively read the jury instructions, let alone review against all the evidence that was supposed to be in the jury room with them. In my mind, somebody had to have been paid to ensure that the focus was never on what the instructions said. But that will eventually come out in the wash, they always do. I have no doubt that the state has means to check who of the jurors all of a sudden hits easy street.

    2) We on the blogs just need to give all of this time and remain ever vigilant to see who wants to cash in and how, and make sure that those who ensured that this trial stayed off track NEVER profit from their misdeeds. And that includes the Anthonys!

    3) Casey – even with all the psychological counseling in the world – WILL re-offend, much like OJ …even if not murder. Grifters are grifters ..and they never change.

    4) Neither Casey nor George, Cindy or Lee will go away because none of them wants to or can work hard enough to have as big a payday as they envision this “case” affording them. Furthermore, there is always thickness among thieves until it’s time to divide up the money…fireworks to come!

    5) If the “official” word now is that Caylee drowned in the pool because Cindy left the ladder up, and Casey didn’t keep an eye on Caylee running to the pool, and George threw the body in the swamp or gave it to Kronk (snark) …then both the FBI and TES should be able to go after the Anthony’s …You can’t lie to the FBI and just walk away from that. Ane Cindy and George were taped, so the FBI has them both “in delitto flagrante”!

    6) I would like to see the fabulous Caylee’s Law initiative that I so hope is successful IN ALL 50 states expanded to also include reporting a death/accidental drowning as a kidnapping and mobilizing volunteer troops to search as a felony – and subject to $$$ recovery. Technically the lack of a report or the false report allows the family time to consolidate the lies and contaminate the crime scene …two birds with one stone. Let’s face it, Cindy tampered with the evidence …We know that she tried to clean that car trunk …and for all we knew she may have tried to vacuum it as well.

    7) Lastly – to Cindy and George – and we know that you do read these sites: YOU KNEW that Caylee was dead (and I believe with all my heart that you knew that that decomp in the trunk was Caylee). Many of us were appalled that you NEVER – NOT ONCE – said “thanks you” to all the thousands of people who volunteered to help find Caylee …and neither of you actively searched …other than to go around and check the donation boxes for $$$$. That amazed me in the beginning of this case …and in the end it is the most fitting post-script to this mis-carriage of justice. Your legacy: only wanting to make money off of the memory of a grandchild you allowed to be killed and discarded like a dead pet. If I were either of you (heaven forfend) …I’d be afraid to meet my Maker. Whatever money you make off of Caylee is ill-gotten gain …Copyright that!

  25. Ragdoll says:

@ Boz and all my friendies who are hurting *big hugs*

I think it’s time for someone of us to protect our hearts and chose what we’re exposing ourselves to.

They are many people, so called experts and TH’s that will taint the truth, the American constitution, the justice system, by putting their own spin on them. It looks and sounds right, but so will the Anti Christ.

It’s my understanding that, legally, how someone dies is not required to prove homicide. It helps, but it’s not a pre requisite to the ‘burden of proof’. Motive and cause of death seem to be the 2 aspects that many cannot agree upon.

Does motive and undetermined means mean….NOT GUILTY, Geraldo??????

The jury was instructed, properly, on how to base their verdict, what to take into consideration, what to discard, etc. They did not follow that process. Why they didn’t, we may never know. We just know that evidence that was presented was not in the equation behind closed doors. No way. No how. Not one juror has who has spoken brought out specific details. Just ambigous and generic remarks like…motive was not established….cause of death was not established. I want to know, selfishly, what they thought of the duct tape? Did they consider that Casey was the last person to see Caylee alive? Did they reasonably discuss the smell of human decomposition in a car that only Casey had access to during those 31 days….a car that, although George had another set of keys to, did not know the where abouts of that car…or his daughter for that matter! Oh….the 31 days? Not one single reference to the evidence presented. Just…there was no motive, no cause of death.

There are many who have the grace to filter out the ‘crap’ to reach the truth. It’s a precious few or are dedicated to work at it. The rest are vulnerable and willing to listen to anything that sounds reasonable. They take what they hear at face value because of the source. What we all really need to do is question the source and their incentive. A title does not make someone an expert. Experience and life lessons are the best diplomas out there! Abraham Lincoln did not have formal education but he was regarded by his peers as a well versed, intelligent, and insightful man. This man walked a unpaved path the entire way. The soles of his feet could probably tell many incredible stories.

My spiritual journey is revealing to me that there are people responding to a certain calling. The purpose is righteous. They’re going to be condemned. They’re going to be targets of dark hearts. They’re going to be unfairly judged and ridiculed…but they’re going to persevere anyways. (I just realized I’m getting all ‘Field of Dreams’ on everyone). They’ll go against the grain of unpopular thinking to retrieve the tiniest speck of truth. (Pat Tillman’s mother wrote a book that’s next on my reading list!)

All I can do is pray that David will beat Golliath again. My heart and faith says he can!

Please guard your hearts for it is the wellspring from which life flows. Gain wisdom. Gain understanding. They will protect you <3

The jury foreman in the Casey Anthony trial described in an anonymous interview with FOX’s Greta Van Susteren many of the jurors thought the young woman killed her daughter Caylee Marie, myfoxatlanta.com is reporting.

But they found Anthony not guilty of the most serious charges, including first-degree murder, because the State Attorney’s Office never showed how it happened. He described a feeling of “disgust” at the predicament.

I have to say, for the first time, I actually believe that the identity of the jurors should be sealed for a cooling off period. I am not getting past how these folks did not understand their charge.

They did not, they were suspect of a person or persons with no evidence?

  30. Solange says:

Jnpgh, great post. Everyone’s so astute here. Thanks much.

Sorry about this if it’s obvious and been said before but: the jury said they didn’t believe George, that they had issues with the fact that when George picked up KC’s car at the towing company, that he didn’t call police then and there. That this made him not believable. But didn’t he drive the car home and meet Cindy there and she called that evening? I mean it’s not like days went by where LE went unnotified about this. Wasn’t this a matter of a few hours? Once again I’m confused-not unusual.

I’m also confused about the timeline b/c I thought Cindy was on the phone to LE/911 and George was coming home and she told him then about Caylee now being missing and the car smelling like a dead body.

Can anyone kindly clue me in? I miss big obvious pieces of this case d/t the craziness of it and my brain functioning. My husband said recently about lies and how it applies so well to this case,(someone famous said it): “A lie unchallenged for 1 day, becomes the truth.”. The Ant’s lies are so widespread and deep, where the facts and the ‘truth’ are the rarity or oddity, that it has been very difficult for everyone to get on the same page about anything.

I even heard Dr. Drew’s recent interview with one of the roommates who had said: “…KC said Caylee was with the nanny that evening…….” And Dr. Drew said: “…how did she even afford a nanny?”. And the roommate stopped and said: “…well, there wasn’t ever a nanny.” Dr. Drew said: “oh yeah, that’s right, I forgot..” It was sort of funny/odd, and DH, said on hearing this (and he didn’t follow this case that closely, except for being forced to watch on TV b/c of me), he would often go into that same trance-of falling into the Anthony’s, particularly KC’s poisonous web of lies. It throws so many wrenches into the deal that it’s easy to get lost and want to give up. I fear this may (one aspect of many) have happened with the jury as well.

If this case is to be a morality tale, one of the lessons to be learned is how very very critical it is to be honest, to hold the truth as sacred. Our civilization is held together by it. I fear we may be losing the battle.

FWIW — Yesterday [Sunday] TMZ.com had 2-photos of George & Cindy Anthony lounging poolside @ a Florida Resort. The article stated “that the Anthony’s tried to keep anyone from noticing who they were but after 2-hrs, w/more & more people taking notice, they got up & left.”

The reason I have NOT included the link is it no longer shows up on their site or searching it.

Hmmm IMO could it be TMZ>com was pressured by Anthony’s lawyer ?? The Resort was NOT named …

    -BUT-

Below is a link to an ABC video … which I am hoping will be true when ICA is released …

I have one question, WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE PLUMBING????? that caused so much panic at the Anthony’s house.
If this has been answered, I missed it. Please repeat.

    *********************************************************************

Along with your question re the Anthony plumbing and what gave Cindy a scare so it may have precipitated her July 3rd My Space letter, what is Cindy’s code-talking letter to Casey in jail re plumbing problems many months later all about?

Can anyone verify if Mason was asked…would YOU take Casey Athony in’…and what his reaction was (Jean Casarus interview, I believe)?

I’m trying to find the link that I viewed this from. I recall Mason severely hesitating in his response. That says it all.

No link , but I heard it personally, he said for a short time.

Today on HLN Ann Finnell says Casey doesnt know what happened to Caylee!

  37. New says:

Mason is worried about Caseys safety and doesn’t know who will take care of her? I thought he said she could come live with him? What Mr. Mason your not willing to take care of the life you have saved?

The irony is rich, the defense destroies the family because the men are sexual molesters and the mother is a purgerer in a death penality case, and allows the menfolk to molest her daughter.

Juror said Not guilty does not mean innocent. What judgement is that?

    (snipped from linked article)

“UPDATED: CASEY ANTHONY NEARLY INKS BOOK DEAL; PUBLISHER ON THE VERGE OF BACKING OUT

    UPDATE: 10:05 P.M

An S&S rep told my assistant Stephanie this via phone once again “The possibility of a Casey Anthony book is becoming more and more possible, yet more and more not likely. The only thing truly stopping this project, is the global market. A company like ours cannot solely publish a book, without advanced research on the possible market to be sure it’d actually sell”.”

According to the S&S rep (for safety reasons the name won’t be released), a global market was researched and a small but workable group was found. Until the market can be ‘verified’ to be sure the book would actually sell, and profits would be made it’s likely to be put on hold if not published at all.

Just read a very long article about juries. It was a study that was done a while back. The longer the jury is held in an alien enviorment the less likely they will judge on the law. The longer the case the less interested they become. They will base their judgement on opening statements, likes and dislikes, financial gain, their resistance to change their ideas becomes less everyday their are in court. Are more likely to give in to opposing views. Most juries are not intellectually capable of making informed decisions because the have no knowledge base. They are confused and just want to take the easy way out. Really opened my eyes to the legal ploys all lawyers must know. The dumber they are the quicker they get bored. This article was talking about 7-10 day cases.

  41. Lleah says:

I love this site…but my feelings are a little hurt, because I had trouble getting my posts on during the trial…most of the posts here are very compelling…but some are less than coherent…so it does cause one to wonder…anyway…I posted several times that the fight between Casey and Cindy on the night of June 15 probably was the impetus for Caylee’s murder…this would mean that George lied about seeing Casey and Caylee on the morning og the 16th…which certainly is not hard to believe now. This scenario was featured on NBC’s Dateline last Friday and the prosecutor was asked aboyt it. He said that Cindy would not admit it. Could she have not been questioned about it on the stand by the prosecution anyway? All the answers are available through this fact….and the words of Cindy’s Mother…Shirley Plesia…who gave the famous quote…”Casey hated Cindy more than she loved Caylee”. Great stuff there…but she was not called to testify???
One more thing…how does everyone feel about juror Jennifer Ford , when asked about the jury only deliberating for 10 hours, saying…”We started to go through all of that “stuff” (the evidence) but…sheesh…”…..she admitted that they wanted nothing but to go home….

Lleah, I apologize. Nothing personal, was an issue about overload of users at the time.

    Welcome.

Simon and Shuster are part of the CBS Corporation. Interesting enough they are coming out with a new book with the thoughts of Kubler Ross in July of this year on “Death and Dying.”

I have written to them. To think a Company with their stature would even consider publishing this trashs of lies is inconciveable. They published The Golden Books of our Childhood, how could they use the lies of this family to trash a dead child?

  43. NoJustice says:

The ABC network ran a story this morning about the Casey Anthony offers drying up. ABC is getting the picture, CBS may also be getting it too….not to profit off of anyone connected to Casey Anthony.

However, this morning….NBC interviewed someone who I officially think is worse than Baez, ….Mr. Mason. This guy comes off as just plain slimeball.

Please pass the following letter around via social network and have your friends and family send this letter to MSNBC, The Today Show, NBC and Comcast, GE (the owners).

    Dear (Name or Company name),

As a concerned and loyal American citizen, I will no longer purchase products from companies that advertise, support and/or intend to profit from Casey Anthony, the Anthony family, Casey’s defense Team or anyone that sat on the Jury.

Using the death of Caylee Anthony for monetary gain is unacceptable and disgusting. I refuse to support any company who believes it is ok to exploit innocent children. Particularly under such disturbing circumstances.

I hope your company will join me in the support and pursuit of a stronger, better America that no longer tolerates or supports persons or corporate entities that purposefully profit from the exploitation of children.

    Sincerely,

    Name

    City, State

If you ask me, every time juror #3 speaks things only sound worse about their so called “deliberations”. In the WFTV interview she sounded like a Casey Anthony clone singing in one key. Me me me. I did my civic duty, I want to be left alone. I just wish one person doing the interview would ask them, what about the smell in the trunk, what about the 31 days, why would she sit in jail for three years and face a trial where the punishment would be the death penalty if this were just some sort of accident that “snowballed out of control”. That truly makes no sense whatsoever. Also, it would be nice of one of the interviewers would remind this juror that the prosecution did not have to prove “how” she died or “where” she died. This juror can’t even be bothered to guess. She just “prays” that Casey didn’t do what she was accused of doing. They never even looked at the phone record evidence that was submitted under stipulation. They didn’t look at anything. They just bought Casey Anthony’s lies hook line and sinker. Sick.

” The jury foreman in the Casey Anthony trial — who asked not to be identified — says many of the jurors believe Casey Anthony killed her daughter Caylee.

But because the prosecution never showed how it happened, they were — by the letter of the law — forced to rule for acquittal on all murder charges. ”

“He’s a nice, decent guy who took his job very seriously and it’s on the tape that he thought she was disgusting,” Van Susteren said this afternoon. “Looking at the remains will stay with him the rest of his life. Whether you agree with the verdict or not, the jury did their best with what they were provided by the prosecution and the judge’s orders.”

The interview airs at 10 tonight on “On the Record” on Fox News Channel. Defense attorney Cheney Mason is another guest; Van Susteren hadn’t interviewed him yet.

i thought about it because of Casey’s friend by who she slept there once with Caylee, told later that in the morning when he woke up Caylee was gone. Casey said then her mother wanted Caylee to sleep at home so she drove her home. But as I saw the video the day Cindy and Caylee visited granpa i saw how Caylee was sitting and leaning on the Granfather without fear so i thought that if she would have been sold for money she woulnd sit like this on her granpa’s knees. Just an opinion…
