Morgan Harrington Murder: FBI, Metallica and Virginia State Police Ask You To Help Them Find Her Killer
Morgan
Reported exclusively on www.blinkoncrime.com, Morgan’s alleged attacker was tied via DNA to a sexual assault in Fairfax, VA in September 2005.
With the help of a multi media campaign, the FBI, Virginia State Police and Fairfax Police are asking for the publics help to catch her killer.
Metallica offered this public service announcement:
Metallica Statement On Harrington Case
FBI Press Release:
Authorities Launch Multimedia Campaign in Morgan Harrington Murder Case
Murder Suspect Linked by DNA to Sexual Assault in Fairfax City, Virginia
FBI Washington June 13, 2012 |
Today, federal, state, and local law enforcement launched a multimedia campaign that includes two enhanced composite sketches of a suspect in the 2009 murder of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington. The unknown murder suspect is also connected by DNA to a 2005 sexual assault in Fairfax City, Virginia.
Authorities recently enhanced the composite sketch created in 2005 from a description by the sexual assault victim. One of the composites shows the suspect with facial hair, as the suspect was described at the time of the attack. The second composite sketch features him without facial hair.
The two attacks were connected through DNA after a forensic profile was submitted by the Virginia Department of Forensic Science to the FBI’s national DNA database. The search found that the suspect in the Harrington murder investigation matched the DNA profile of the attacker in Fairfax City.
The multimedia campaign includes a public service announcement by Metallica lead guitarist James Hetfield appealing to the public to come forward with information concerning the Morgan Harrington investigation. The composite sketches of the suspect are being featured on bus shelters in Washington, D.C., as well as on digital billboards in Richmond, Virginia; Roanoke, Virginia; Washington, D.C.; and in 23 other states along the East Coast. Social media outreach and alerts via Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, along with a website dedicated to the Harrington case were also launched Wednesday. Podcasts are now available on iTunes, and radio spots are airing to further raise awareness of the ongoing investigation. The multi-pronged effort is designed to develop new leads and renew the public’s attention in the attacks. The campaign implements techniques similar to those that have led to the arrests of the East Coast Rapist as well as Ten Most Wanted fugitive James “Whitey” Bulger.
The Jefferson Area Crime Stoppers is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Morgan Harrington’s murder. In addition, the band Metallica is adding $50,000 to the reward, for a total of $150,000.
Morgan Harrington Murder
On the evening of Saturday, October 17, 2009, Harrington attended a Metallica concert at John Paul Jones Arena on the University of Virginia (UVA) campus in Charlottesville, Va. At approximately 8:30 p.m., she left the arena and was unable to re-enter the facility. She was last seen hitchhiking for a ride from passing traffic.
Harrington was dressed that night in a black T-shirt with the word “Pantera” spelled out in tan letters and was wearing a distinctive Swarovski crystal necklace made of large crystal chain links, which investigators have yet to recover. Harrington’s “Pantera” T-shirt was found on November 11, 2009, in front of a row of apartments along 15th Street, NW near Grady Avenue in Charlottesville. Harrington’s skeletal remains were later discovered on January 26, 2010, in a remote field on an Albemarle County, Virginia farm along Route 29. A camera that Harrington had in her possession that night has never been recovered.
Sexual Assault in Fairfax City, Virginia
On the evening of Saturday, September 24, 2005, a 26-year-old victim was walking home from the Giant Food Store located on the 3700 block of Jermantown Road in Fairfax City, Virginia. The suspect grabbed the victim from behind as she walked down Rock Garden Drive toward her residence. He then carried the victim to a grassy area behind a maintenance shed, where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect was last seen running from the area.
The suspect is described as an African-American male with black hair and facial hair at the time of the attack. He is approximately 6’0” tall and was believed to be between the ages of 25 and 35 years old at the time of the attack.
The public is asked to review this information and consider whether they know someone who generally fits this description, who lived or had ties to the area around the times of the assaults, or who may have been known to spend considerable amounts of time in those areas.
People who know the suspect may not believe that he is capable of committing these crimes. He may not necessarily have a violent criminal history. Because investigators are in possession of DNA evidence that can either positively link the suspect to his crimes or exclude innocent parties, citizens should not hesitate to provide information, even if it is just the name of a potential suspect.
The following agencies are cooperating in the investigation of these crimes: the Virginia State Police, City of Fairfax Police, University of Virginia Police, Charlottesville Police, Albemarle County Police, Albemarle County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Virginia Tech Police Department, George Mason Police Department, and the FBI.
Law enforcement agencies are asking anyone with information to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Virginia State Police Tip line at 434-352-3467.

Redly I appreciate you bringing up this information
You wrote that you do not think it is anyones business-
I get that I do-
But it was LE who came forward and said –Look over here the BBP are not involved they had somewhere to be— they were definitely gone by 9:20… those who interacted with her left…the students left…
Morgan asked them for a ride… due to her behaviors they declined…
we have interviewed some of them they are free to talk if they so choose—-knowing full well that was never going to happen as their wish was to never come forward
If they didnt come forward to LE to tell their story why would they come forward for the press…did any of them offer to speak to Morgans mom and dad?
Believe me redly – I realize that most everyone would not believe them- and I am not saying I do or dont either-
but for LE to say she asked for a ride inferring that she wanted to get to a specific destination, thereby lending credence to the Hitch hiking story is wrong IMO
because with this knowledge of the rumor of not wanting to go to a party but TO PARTY that changes things…
Why? because Morgan Harrington never had to leave those grounds to ask/find someone to “party” with her
She never even had to leave with the BBP if they accepted this invitation—
she had a car they had cars… plenty of Partying has been had in the back of countless automobiles since forever.
and plenty of people were around the lots looking to “party”…all she had to do is walk back in the opposite direction…
LE has said she was a “distressed individual” that is one of the reasons she went to the bridge to HH-
ummm wanting to party is not distressed
AJMO
I meant TOO not TWO many hands
sorry for the mistakes
thanks
Thanks for digging my comment out of spam:) And thanks for clarifying LE’s statement. I found the exact quote from Dino Capuzzo:
“She has no coat, the weather is beginning to deteriorate. She doesn’t have her phone,” Cappuzzo said. “She’s in a vulnerable and compromised position. The logical conclusion is that she got in a vehicle somewhere on Copeley Road between the bridge and the intersection with Ivy Road.””
So, I am wondering why it is logical to assume she got in a vehicle between the bridge and Ivy Road? Wasn’t she hitchhiking on the sidewalk which would be going away from Ivy Road and back towards JPJ? Or was the witness statement from father and daughter ever publicly clarified as to which side of the bridge she was on (there is no sidewalk on the side of the road going towards Ivy Rd)? And how does LE know she didn’t have her phone at that point? That statement seems unequivocal to me.
Your preaching to the choir on that one dda ( at least for me). LE only knows when her phone was removed from power, which occurs after that sighting. 9:30PM. If t was Morgan, she turned around and headed back to the lot area for some reason, imo.
B
None of this is making any sense to me.
Haven’t been here in a while due to lack of time. So sad that there has been no real updates in this case.
I will never understand how LE was not able to solve this case. They had much more to work on here than in other cases (nationwide, not local to this) that LE was able to solve. Amongst everything else that they have (witnesses, the finding of the shirt, etc.), she was found in a very unique and telling location and they have DNA and a sketch. I cannot believe that plasting his face all over the place with a significant award did not expose him from under the rock he is hiding. Does he not work, shop, or speak to any other human being or be in public at all, ever? I mean, for the love, it’s not like the invisible man is real!
WHY would LE drop the ball like this? WHY didn’t they re interview the last to see Morgan alive? I don’t understand WHY are they not on this like they should be? How could it be that LE never even interviewed her friends that were with her that night? Where are the reporters?
alexandra – I said to my knowledge the lead investigator in this case for VSP never interviewed the friends- they were interviewed by a different LEA. Not that they were never interviewed.
Several witnesses were never re-interviewed one the link to sketch was developed and in some cases they only heard about it through my sources.
Definitely something wrong with that. I believe at the time the thought process was VSP wanted more time to run down leads on it’s own.
Ain’t nobody got time for that in a murder case.
B
If LE itself didn’t interview the friends with her that night, was it a form of LE like public relations damage control people?
Were the friends and BB players interviewed solely by UVAPD?
Redly said”
“…saying this as nicely as I can…”
?
Since when is asking to “party” (innuendo!) with others shameful? Morgan was a 21st century young woman. It actually brings a smile to my face, thinking of those poor BBPs fending her off! They left seemingly “as one” (by 9:20). Then at 9:23 she was on the bridge “asking for it” again!
By 9:30 she was gone.
I’m zeroing in on Redly’s comment but I’m thinking of all the statements by LE and others that we know of concerning this case and I’m hearing “blame the victim” and “cover-up.”

Something smells.
here’s a news item about a “brawl” outside of Buffalo Wild Wings (not buffalo wings near train station) in/near Barracks rd. shopping center. Obviously, it has nothing to do with Morgan’s disapearance, however, I have a “hunch” (and nothing more) that sketch was a frequent patron of BBWW. For the relatively few times I have been in C’ville, I have enjoyed BBWW. I think it is is fine place for a chain – food’s filling and the drink prices are reasonable, plus you can always watch some sports in which you are interested.
In the later night hours it seems that is a “black” bar. That’s okay too – no problems, just some bling.
On the night of Morgan’s disapearance, I theorize that sketch did not want to go down to Rte. 29 and make a right to go to 250 or wherever he was going. That area is too crowded on an event night at JPJ, and cops are in front of JPJ directing crowd traffic. The best way to go would be to go right out of the parking lot up Arlington to Massie, turn left, and proceed on Massie until the intersection with Copeley, turn right onto copeley and then cross the bridge. I realize that it’s merely a theory amongst many others. Nevertheless, I think that at a minimum, sketch’s sketch should be prominently displayed and circulated throughout BBWW. Maybe they would not want this, but I think that that would be a good place to put some emphasis from LE. Maybe LE can go in with sketch’s pic and “shake the tree a bit.”

I recall that this topic was hashed over some time ago, however, as there does not appear to be any new leads, maybe we can go over some old topics.

Mike – with what little we know, what prompts your “hunch”? Are you local?
http://www.nbc29.com/story/21795809/additional-witness-details-emerge-in-harrington-civil-suit …………………………………… I hope this linked.
Interesting facts developed.
http://www.dailyprogress.com/news/local/amended-lawsuit-says-harrington-had-head-injury-was-not-taken/article_f6acb66c-9678-11e2-8fe6-0019bb30f31a.html
I been sayin and sayin and sayin.
B
i had to go back and read the link dda provided twice.
sounds like someone from security called a cab for drunk Fairfax county police officer that night. sketch’s first known victim was in fairfax right? coincidence or clue?
-Off duty FAIRFAX Police officer
-intoxicated
-left in a taxi
What time did he leave the premises? Which direction did he go and to what final destination?
Did he leave with someone else? Were there other off-duty officers from Fairfax or NOVA LE working JPJA that night?
These are questions that I know have been/ will be ruminating on here. I don’t want to implicate anyone unfairly on here, but I have a feeling that the inclusion of the officer’s jurisdiction is not unintentional in this most recent development in the civil suit.
If I’m off base, mea culpa in advance.
I found this comment interesting, from the topix link on the NBC29 page, by UVA Fan:
“I think the Harrington’s may want to leave this pandora box shut the rumors i heard was the Rescue squard tried to treat her that night and she cussed them so they might find out some things they don’t want to know about that night.”
first, personally, i believe this lawsuit is essentially a fact finding mission for the harrington’s, or an investigative aid to the degree that the civil trial could get some key witnesses to testify under oath about what they saw or did that evening.
I do realize topix in general is mostly a lot of fools opening their mouths and judging from the posts, this latest batch is no exception. at any rate, whether or not this rumor has any substance to it at all, i have said before, this “newly” release witness citing Morgan’s injury, it certainly does increase the possibility that she may have come into contact with emergency responders on call that night.
so i am still wondering who was on standby at the concert on behalf of the NGVFC that evening?
You know, I am have come to learn and to expect that the ignorant like to hide in the bowels of topix, but that comment in particular reminds me of one I have received that I have never published and it would surprise those following this case who it came from. No, I am not going to say, but I will say this- if anyone thinks that comments like that bother the Harrington’s- think again. Let’s just see how accusatory those depositions end up.
B
AMEN! Some info finally coming to light! Security, Fairfax County, taxis…very intriguing! I am finding the comments on the NBC article disturbing. Lots of Blaming the victim and let’s let her RIP and move on. C-ville needs to get its head out of the sand.
Also – I find it incredible that VSP hadn’t interviewed this witness previously. If they did and had the info on the possible extent of her injury, why not disclose this during the ‘walk-through” or prior? Why lead everyone to beleive she was propositioning the BB players and NOT mention the head injury and that she was acting irrationally? I don’t see the investigative benefit.
They did and they did. It was announced by VSP-
I think the bigger question is did they use that as a qualifier for anyone she came in contact with.
As an example:
‘Hey I can’t make believe my luck that I am standing here bleeding and yelling at my friends on my phone and there you are by your lonesome waiting on some pals. So I try to hook my arm in yours because I think you are qualified to suture and you disengage so I kick you with my very high heeled boot so you can call your girlfriend and tell her all about it but not the cops until I realize others saw us talking. ”
I mean like that- Did kickee mention Morgan’s chin? Seems an important part of a “I was concerned about how she was acting so I thought I should call” observation.
I know her friends did not know anything about it they said. How is that possible in a conversation that ends with her saying she will get her own ride? Was it- Fine, you aholes have a blast while I thumb a ride in the hopes I find someone with antiseptic, paper towels and a bandaid?
Doubtful.
B
To Morgan’s dad:
Don’t worry , we will not forget Morgan. We stand with you and Morgan’s mom until he is found. Waiting.
Alexandra,
I really admire your earnestness; it is unwavering. That is a great quality.
Was Kickee someone who was dressed in a manner or otherwise identifiable as someone who Morgan would believe was qualified to suture? That actually would dovetail to a certain degree with the EMT comment. It would also possibly negate many of the rumors about where Morgan was trying to go that night, and open up some new avenues of thinking on that issue. Instead of trying to “party” was she just trying to get help? If so, I doubt even more than I always have the substance of the friends’ statements about the phone conversation. Going back a few pages, were the friends interviewed by their local PD instead of VSP and the other LE agencies working on this case? If so, that is disappointing.
dda- that was my snark. (suture)
One thing I am personally looking forward to in this suit is the information developed about the ticket stubs of parties that evening.
We know Morgan’s was never found- I wonder if that means that someone tried to use it to get in? I remember thinking years ago when I studied the vendor’s system- “This case could be solved in whole or in part by something so simple.”
Then can and do in certain cases.
B
Rumors: … If the rescue squad tried to treat her and she cussed them, the surely called the police then, didn’t they?
This kind of puts to bed the insinuations of a drunken party girl roaming the lots for a ‘party’, right?
How about the ‘run-away’ … running from over-bearing parents? Just who said Morgan left her friends all the time to ‘hook-up’? Yes, who was that again?
Morgan trying to get back in the main entrance, then other entrances …. but, noooo, policy!
I say Bullshit to it all!
Morgan was trying to save herself!!!!
It could sound as if she was being escorted FROM JPJA that night! It could sound like some RMC staff and security KNOW who!
Blink, do you or anyone else here know if Virginia has ‘investigative’ Grand Juries? …. Or, would that be tainted as well?
http://www.dailyprogress.com/news/local/amended-lawsuit-says-harrington-had-head-injury-was-not-taken/article_f6acb66c-9678-11e2-8fe6-0019bb30f31a.html
Thank you DDA for bringing this to our attention-
Morgan was disorentated and injured in the bathroom- she was unable to help herself-
he didnt realize where she was.
She seems to have accidentally walked out-
her injures according to the filing- seem to be more than just a tiny scrape.
I do believe she should have been given first aid-
Was she offered and she refused?
Was she offered a taxi and she refused because her intent was never to leave but to gain reentry?
If security thought she was unruly and injured, why not call for assistance from LE?
I support The Harringtons trying to find out what happened that night.
My prayers cont to go out to them.
2bcont
I read the filing.
I can understand how RMC could have seen an added need for security due to the alchohol being served due to the # of incidents reported in the years prior and due to the fact that there were intoxicated persons on the grounds acting unruly and being agressive-
here is where I can not understand and honestly I am trying to-
I respectfully, and with care, bring up this point of contention
(pp)
22) The defendant had a separate duty to exercise reasonable care as the business attracted and provided a climate for assaultive crimes
Several factors give rise to an increased duty and provide evidence of foreseeability in this case
Large public concerts create an increased risk of assaults
the sheer # of people close proximity in lots seating combined with sale of alcohol and illegal use of alcohol create a more dangerous place
Security measures are taken and special attention given due to the increased danger resulting from RMCs method of conducting business
In this case the dynamic of booking a heavy metal rock bands in particular, a genre of music whose themes include violence and substance abuse, increases the risk and will focus attention on such a culture as part of RMCs business method, which include the engagement of heavy metal/rock groups like Metallica heightens both RMCs duty and its invitees and the foreseeability of harm
One study revealed that of the 700 most popular songs of “heavy metal,” 50% speak of killings, 35% of satanism and 7% about suicide. Sheila Davis, professor of lyric writing at New York University, is convinced that “better give serious attention to the content of pop songs and to evaluate not only what lyrics are saying to society but, more important, what they may be doing to it” (USA Today, October 11, 1985, p. 10).

why on Earth would The Harringtons lawyers base part of the filing on that site which contains outdated and wrong information?
Did they even read thru that site?
it basically calls all Rock and Roll bad-
the page which the filing links to twists the facts of those cases
Such as:
Guns and Roses fans didnt riot because they were heavy metal fans they rioted because Axl Rose incited the riot
The NJ boy who killed his mother, – that page has major info wrong on the case.
that page is wrong about the intent of the Dead Kennedys and
Ozzy Osbourne he never preached suicide.
The young man that killed himself was depressed His parents lost the lawsuit Ozzy Osbourne does not preach suicide. His song Suicide Solution is about alcohol addiction and surviving it not dying from it-
That site/page is wrong about so many things-
—
Morgan Harrington waited months to see this concert she had many of these artists cds/posters which this site condemns:
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
John Lennon
The Doors
and still more artists are named:
Iron maiden
Judas priest
Ozzy/black sabbath
king diamond
Motley Crew
Dead Kennedy
steely Dan
Marvin Gaye
Fleetwood Mac
Prince
Madonna
George Michael
Elton John
Frank Zappa
Bon Jovi
Motley Crue
Elvis
and so on..
This site condones the very reason some of us felt so compelled to speak out for Morgan
The reason so many of us are here is because of our love of music even metal
we stood up against those who would speak ill against Morgan for her attending the concert, for going to festivals, for her attire, for her makeup, for her free spirit, ..we stood tall against the attackers such as The westborro baptist church..
but the filing links to a page/site that basically is in league with their mindset:
“To a Christian there is no doubt that blasphemy, vulgarity, debauchery and rape espoused by contemporary rock music cuts right across God’s plan for the salvation of people.”
and theres more:
Noted psychologist John Kappas, showed that people “are truly susceptible to conscious messages on a record and that excitation and melancholy can be created by music/sensory overload… `Any time you overload the mind, the person becomes very suggestible. They will take in anything that you suggest at that time because they have no defenses against it. People can walk out of concerts in a hyper-suggestible state … Music has a tendency to defuse thinking and create moods. And in turn, the messages seep in” (Ted Schwartz and Duane Empey, Satanism: Is Your Family Safe? Gran Rapids, MI, Zondervan, 1989 p. 151-52; Allan Bloom, “The Closing of the American Mind, ” N.Y. Simon and Schuster, 1987, pp. 68-81).
did you read that part?
“People can walk out of concerts in a hyper-suggestible state … Music has a tendency to defuse thinking and create moods. ”
–To my understanding that site, that quote, is basically saying RMC isnt culpable – Morgan Harrington she was predisposed to what happened to her like a Manchurian Candidate-
and it basically excusing anyone from harming her, if a music fan if a concert goer,- because they listened and walked out and just never realized what happened…the music made them do it…
more:
Allan Bloom is quite correct when he asserts that “rock music has one appeal only, a barbaric appeal, to sexual desire – not love … but sexual desire undeveloped and untutored … rock gives children, on a silver plate, with all the public authority of the entertainment industry, everything their parents always used to tell them they had to wait for until they grew up … Young people know that rock has the beat of sexual intercourse … Never was there such an art form directed so exclusively to children… The words implicitly and explicitly describe bodily acts that satisfy sexual desire and treat them as its only natural and routine culmination for children who do not yet have the slightest imagination of love, marriage or family. This has a much more powerful effect that does pornography on youngsters., who have no need to watch others do grossly what they can so easily do themselves. Voyeurism is for the old perverts; active sexual relations are for the young. All they need is encouragement” (Bloom, Closing of the American Mind, pp. 73-74).
The lyrics of all 3 bands set lists that night do not promote violence rape nor substance abuse -to the contrary they speak out against them
I, like Morgan am an avid music lover- I have been here from Blinks first piece I have used my love of music specifically of metal to reach many -I have sent well wishes and tribute songs to Blink to The Harringtons, to the friends- most of which have been metal songs
I just cant see the benefit of attacking a specific genre with outdated wrong and clearly biased information in these papers- to me it seems to detract from the validity of the filing.
Dear Dr. and Mr Harrington-
please know that I will support your efforts in bringing Morgans killer to justice and in helping to Save the Next Girl-
I just had to voice my concerns about that site/info.
Still Praying

I wasn’t as clear ss I should have been. I know that VSP said she injured her chin, but they really seemed to downplay it. Many of us feel she could have had a head injury that inpaired her thinking and caused her to act as she otherwise would have. I don’t feel that VSP painted that picture, but instead implied that she was impaired because of drinking or drugs. I’ve felt that to a small degree that they at least implied that her intentional actions lead to her demise. If the facts were presented and spun differently, maybe more witnesses would have come forward? IMO.
I have been very vocal about my feelings on how VSP has handled this case thus far- and vice-versa, really.
On this one, I have to say I understand and agreed with their logic if they indeed used this information to qualify witness interviews. Morgan had been drinking with her friends- I don’t think VSP was in a position to “diagnose” or quantify which was the case or that it mattered. She was impaired by some means.
It has always been my personal belief, and I have discussed this with the Harrington’s, that Morgan suffered a concussion with that bathroom fall and I believe she was headed outside to get fresh air as a result.
As a security issue, whether that was hers or others, it does not matter to me how the impairment occurs with the exception of culpability if she fell as a result of outright negligence.
We have an RMC employee publicly posting he came into contact with Morgan and he “wished he could have helped her”, in addition to the further exchange with his gal pal. So.. RMC witnessed impairment and did not act. The same folks do not allow her access to return to the venue and refuse to provide information of same to her parents.
I submit we are going to learn how that may or may not have changed the protocol of this investigation, and possible outcomes.
Lastly- all that said, I think the transfer of the original lead investigator in this case when Morgan was found is going to come back into focus in some way.
B
The snark went right over my head:) I think because Kickee bothers me a lot. The accounts of some witnesses make perfect sense to me….his account not so much. Not that I think he is involved but I question his version of events, and I would be interested to see what is clarified or corrected by him during a deposition in the civil case, and if such information would shed more light on that night.
Agree completely.
B
We’ve gone from the feelings of Nothing happening to now we know something positive is happening in favor of the Harrington’s Civil Lawsuit filed on behalf of Morgan.
Thanks God for the small things! And Thank God for the information that any have shared that has been helpful. Many , many thanks to you Blink !
I did not know that kickee was a RCM employee. Wow
Did not say that, nor do I believe anyone could.
B
Sorry about that Blink…I miss read.
NP friend
B
Was the kickee an employee of one of the EMS providers?
Blink, this statement made everyone think it was kickee you were talking about. Kickee called his girl pal to report that Morgan interacted with him.
We have an RMC employee publicly posting he came into contact with Morgan and he “wished he could have helped her”, in addition to the further exchange with his gal pal
Thanks alexandra, for those not intimately aware with auto-recall, lol, that was very ambiguous on my part, my apologies.
Kickee claimed to call his girlfriend after a girl matching Morgan’s description kicked him, iirc he stated that she told him to call police.
Notes: As I have covered in the past, an employee or contract/subcontractor of UVA and by proxy RMC would be aware of the location of the camera locations at the stadium by virtue of their employment or contract, it is a UVA rule. In the event an affiliate under that umbrella knew that they would have appeared on camera, it would behoove them to come forward about a physical exchange they felt would have been caught on camera. In the original piece which included the un-named kickee, it stated he called LE on Sunday October 18th. When I pointed out how that most likely reflected information from someone that would have to be VERY close to the case would know- it was changed to the Monday October 19th.
In any investigation, this should have been a ginormous red flag, and did LE ask to record and check out that bruise he alleges came from Morgan’s stilletto boot? I can tell you right now that that is a crucial witness to this case, as I have said since learning about him.
RMC employee – posted on his myspace by Sunday Oct 18 he saw Morgan and wished he could have helped her. He then kibbitzed about the experience with a girl-friend (non-romantic) openly via messages on their respective myspace pages. This young lady also worked security for RMC but was not present at the metallica concert.
2 different witnesses, 2 different female counterparts and none are the accountant/music critique who described seeing Morgan in 2 different locations from her vehicle, but I have wondered if they were the 3 friends kickee was waiting for and that the woman making the call from her vehicle as they were trying to park was the gf of kickee because this female witness saw Morgan with the BB players and described her imitating that kick (para). No idea and just my exploration.
Hope this clears things up, again, thanks all for calling me out.
B
I remember the employee saying he wished he would have helped her and i remember the emt that left the concert early or became separated from his friends and we spoke with him here on BOC, didn’t we? but I don’t remember his interaction with his girl friend. I only remember kickee calling his girlfriend.
Dr. & Mrs. Harrington and Alex……..sending you love and peace.
I can just see Morgan in heaven among the bunnies, flowers, and rainbows.
You’re always in my mind……as is Morgan in my heart.
I just can’t imagine being one of the BB players and having an interaction as described with Morgan, I can’t see those taking their eyes off of her. Out of the parking lot, driving off, leaving her. Does not compute well in my mind.
Surely, if Morgan had a 2-3 inch cut on her chin, RMC security, the BBPs, and others would have observed it and/or she would have mentioned it to them. Yet no one helped her near the arena and the BBPs chose to drive away from her in the dark, wet, and cold probably knowing that she was injured and possibly chemically impaired. Was there no one at the arena who understood that this young woman needed assistance? I just don’t get it. One time many years ago a drunk guy grabbed me on the street and tried to hug me, and this “super woman” about 5’2″ tall and wearing a business suit pulled him off me, got in his face, sent him on his way, and then made sure I was okay. I was fine, no harm done. But there was NO ONE around willing to take the time to help Morgan. And look at the consequences.
And the concussion thing is serious. It truly can alter one’s judgement, perception, language ability, and physical coordination. I am aware of a situation where a routine fall resulting in a cut to the head has resulted in months-long cognitive and language disability, dizzy spells, and constant fatigue. So if Morgan did suffer a concussion it is quite possible that she was extremely disoriented.
I too wonder about this drunk off-duty Fairfax police officer and the local cabbie. Connection…?
Best to everyone.

That they apparently didn’t makes it seem like she probably didn’t have a 2-3 inch cut on her chin.

I remember the employee saying he wished he would have helped her and i remember the emt that left the concert early or became separated from his friends and we spoke with him here on BOC, didn’t we? but I don’t remember his interaction with his girl friend. I only remember kickee calling his girlfriend.
____________________________________________________
Going from memory. From his facebook or myspace, the employee worked some RMC events at UVA — not sure if as an usher or not. He exchanged facebook or myspace posts with his friend who is a girl, not “girlfriend”, after morgan was found to be missing. His friend who is a girl was a fan of the country of Ireland and was somewhat physically disabled — so, if she worked “security” for RMC, it may not be what jumps to mind when you hear “security”. More likely she was a part time usher. She wasn’t at the metallica concert. He said he saw her, I believe in a concession line, and after the fact wished he could have helped her. IMO, odds are he was full of crap like many of the other false witnesses in this case and never saw her at all, but just wanted to have an interesting story for his gal pal.
Redly, Law Enforcement knows full well who the RMC worker was who saw Morgan…he felt badly about refusing Morgan re-entry and commented on that with his friend on Myspace. He also conversed with the local emt worker, who attended the concert, when they spoke with local Roanoke reporter Jean Jadhon. You have the story mostly correct except it was the emt worker who saw her in the concession area….and yes, it appears that emt worker did disappear from his friends at the concert for awhile according to his social media conversation with that friend.
Excellent video concerning Morgans case on AOL.
Hope this link works.

Thank you Hummingbird- I would also like to ask everyone pay close attention to what Jill says about the pantera tshirt.
“trophy was left 2 weeks after Morgan was missing”.
Reminding all my sources say the shirt was found Nov. 5th, day after police search in PanTops.

Redly, the Harringtons apparently have reason to believe that she did have a 2-3 inch cut–from the Daily Progress article link above:
“At a news conference Tuesday, the attorney representing Harrington’s estate, Lee Livingston, said that newly uncovered information has allowed the suit to make more detailed factual allegations…
Sometime after Harrington left her seat at a Metallica concert about 8:15 p.m. and before she arrived at a bathroom, she “suffered a serious head injury and was rendered unable to take care of herself,” according to the suit…
A bystander found her in the bathroom with a 2- to 3-inch cut on her chin and acting erratically, but not smelling of alcohol, according to the suit.”
My suspicion is that everyone assumed that she was drunk and high, and did not want to be burdened with her for the rest of the evening.

I was so glad to see the justice for Morgan video on aol when I logged on today. Blink, I did catch the “2 week” comment about the finding of her shirt. Glad you brought that up and commented on it.
Dan, Gil and Alex, we are all keeping you and Morgan in our thoughts and prayers and are hoping deeply that this aol video will bring justice to Morgan and to your family. 241
Olivia — the attorney doesn’t want to lose his case on a motion to dismiss and thus had to come up with something in the initial pleading that, if true as it is assumed to be on a motion to dismiss, absolves her of any responsibility for her own actions. What is pled in a lawsuit and the truth often diverge. All you need is one inaccurate or exaggerating witness to plead something without fear of sanctions and some attorneys don’t even care about having that much. IMO she would have ended up in hospital with a 2-3 inch cut on her chin (look at a ruler and then at a medium sized person’s chin), not roaming around the parking lot chatting with people.
Morgan’s mother and father think as I do about the shirt. It was a taunt to LE, not a girl friend nor another person.
It was the sketch. If anyone elses DNA were on it, LE would have said so, I think. This evil may have acted alone.
I’ll bet his family hasn’t a clue. He probably has her neclace, hidden under their noses.
May he soon be found before he harms another person.
Redly–Lee Livingston is a better lawyer than that. He doesn’t need to plead facts to “absolve” Morgan in order to survive a demurrer (it is not called a motion to dismiss in Virginia state court). Although Virginia is a contributory negligence state, as opposed to the vast majority of other states which have some form of comparative negligence, the defense of contributory negligence will not be decided by a judge at the demurrer stage in this case. That allegation was made to support the theory of liability that RMC had notice of an injured patron and did nothing, when at the same time they rendered assistance to another impaired patron in order for that person to get home safely.
Agreed, and I would also note that we aren’t privy to when the verification of this or corroboration occurred, that may account for the timing and likely based on a witness interview or deposition.

IIRC this RMC employee….think this is the same guy…..had quite the web or facebook page. ie: lots of violence and dark “art” stuff. I remember looking at his page and being sickened by some of the things I saw. He also had several guy friends he did stuff with….guns, violence, extreme games, etc,
Blink is this the same one some of us discussed way back at the inception of this case? If he is, I remember my thoughts of possible involvement somehow. Of course not in the capacity of sketch, but somehow “remotely connected” and not in the way he proclaimed to the media in his moments of “fame.”
I am not positive I know who you are referring to exactly. If you are referring to the man posting as David Winston (not his real name) I am not aware of anyone who thinks he is suspect in this case. By his own words, if they can be proven to be his, he is one of more than individual present when Morgan was denied re-entry to the venue. However, his timing does not match the facts, but perhaps since then he has been able to narrow that down more correctly. His statement was it was around 10 PM.

Tarheellvvr ……. I am sure it was Wayne Townsend off duty EMT guy, who said he saw Morgan at the beer selling area. He vanished from the concert during Metallicas’ set, established by back and forth FB messaging from his friends the next day. They accompanied him to the concert.
They were asking “where did you go bro ?”
I cannot remember his response. One of his friends at the concert was African American.
Wayne inserted himself into the investigation, and was interviewed by Nancy Grace I believe, and she grilled him a quite a bit.
He had a FB page with a lot of violent content on it, and a home made “fictional” video he made showing a woman being pursued through the countryside and I think ending up murdered. I watched the video and was disturbed by it at the time.He and his FB friends shared a penchant for dark violent themes and women as victims if I remember correctly.
He also started the first Find Morgan Harrington FB Page and was one of the moderators. Dan Harrington was also a moderator. The site had some problems with content from posters and other admistrative issues. I think in the end Wayne closed it without releasing the material on it .
Wayne came onto BOC and voluntarily stated his case as he and his actions were very scrutinized on this site. This material must exist in BOCs archives. My Misty Mountain friend Mom3.0 I am sure has access to this .I have likened her to a pit bull in the past in a respectful manner as once she gets her teeth into something she does NOT let go ha ha!! A bit like dear Blink herself the feisty Jersey girl!!
Shout out to my old friend Alabamamom. Perhaps you could elaborate on this angle and this individual. I know you did a lot of research regarding this.
The new information that Morgan was obviously injured and this person was off duty EMT at the concert and disappeared for most of it,seriously resonates with me. I have always had questions re this scenario. I do not know where or how Sketch would fit into this scenario but this is what I recall F.W.I.W.
Also let’s not forget the sudden and rushed trip to New Jersey and back by Fire fighters who had some EMT connections. That car that was dumped there, but the occupants returned immediately.
Also the fire.
Peace, courage, and strength and the highest admiration to the Harringtons’.

Hi Blink and all.
Hummingbird, my memory tells me that WT was also a former security worker at JPJA, so would have had contacts among that staff.
His hunting humans video and comments about how it wouldn’t be hard to get away with murder in VA, given the vast areas of private property on which to hide a body in the area, always gave me pause.
Also, regarding DW, the person at the JPJA door who wished he could have helped Morgan; his statement makes me think that he would have helped but was warned not to – by some higher authority at JPJA. I am thinking something along the lines of bullying by someone higher up in security, or by someone higher up in the food chain at JPJA, perhaps even someone from UVAPD. In Morgan’s case this would virtually be a death sentence because her condition was deteriorating.
What a damn shame. Harrington family: Keep on fighting. We are with you. Justice For Morgan!

HummingBird- so so glad to see you my music loving Misty Mountain friend-
Before I post this I would just like to say to WT thankyou for taking your time and energy to try and help Morgan, just as we all have here.
I am reposting your posts so that we all may remember why it is you felt you needed to come to BOC and why most welcomed you thanked you and moved away from questioning your intentions whereabouts-
To me you seem like just one of many Horror/Metal fan concertgoers that night who may have witnessed Morgan who reached out to help-often times at the detriment of yourself and your privacy etc.
I hope you are doing Okay. Peace
Here is the info you requested Hummingbird:

I apologize for my actions in my earlier post. I kept posting and posting and moments later they were gone. I took that as a sign that whoever moderates this site didn’t want them to be included. Not to mention all the people who I spoke with via Facebook and such who I noticed on here only friends me and tried to be nice to me just to get words that seem to have got twisted around and made me look like a bad person. I’m sure a lot of people would have responded the way I did, if not more extreme.
Before I speak anything about the night of the concert and my intentions I’d like to speak directly with Fish.
You asked why I stooped posting on the Facebook group and I’ll answer that one. As many other people out there that found out about Morgan’s case I became very interested in it. Morgan sounded like a great person through the words of her parents and her photos. Many others have also agreed with me about her being an avid music fan and considered “family” within the heavy metal community. As entire communities of “metal heads” are also interested in helping find Morgan and I believe if she where anyone else they wouldn’t give it as much attention as they have. A lot of us do consider ourselves, family, as these shows. It’s the only place you can find your arm around another complete strangers shoulders singing the songs to each other. I ceased my postings as it was starting to create problems with my girlfriend. She did not like that I spent a part of my day looking for news about Morgan online, trying to help with getting her story out there and talking to the people that had joined the group. So in an attempt to spare my own relationship any heartache I stopped posting so the arguing between my girlfriend and me would cease. However, I did continue doing things to help find Morgan that Facebook wouldn’t show. Such as helping a NJ man setup a benefit concert and spent days upon days calling trying to get people to promote the show and get the word out about her, with no recognition to myself. Why you might ask? Because I want to help in anyway possible. You speak about me being a Dad and posting videos on YouTube. The videos I posted on YouTube where created when I was around 16 or 17. Way before I had any intentions on becoming a father and even still very immature. I created the YouTube page as a way to show my friends the videos, and never really thought anyone would say anything about them. I’ve always dreamed about being a director as I love movies and writing. The short film which you reference was created by a buddy of mine and myself during our “we love Werewolves” phase. That is what the film was really about. The movies were made long before I became who I am today and I never saw any need to remove them, as we were all kids once. If anyone has ever seen a horror movie they will note that people like Eli Roth make films about people being kidnapped and tortured, but just because he’s a household name no one thinks that what he is doing is weird. Also it was mentioned about the two jobs I work. Just because I’m an EMT and work with disabled individuals does not mean I can’t have a life where I enjoy playing video games, swearing and having a good time. Just as much as I love helping people I don’t think any of this impedes on my overall life goal of continuing these aspects of my life. May it be a way to relive stress? It just might be but, I’ve never really given it any thought.
I hope that is what you were asking of me and if it’s not please feel free to continue.
Now onto the real reason where here, Morgan. I was not sitting anywhere near Morgan as far as I know. The sections such as 312 are made up so that the seats go from A-Z across and are numbered going upward. So my seat was something like 312 Row 10 Seat J. Morgan could have been actually out of site for me wherever she may have been sitting.
When I strongly believe I saw Morgan I was near the vendor area near my section of seats. If I could find a map of the inside of the area I would gladly show you. While in that area and on my cell phone I noticed a young women who fit Morgan’s description walking not in the vendor area but the main traffic area that would take you right by the vendor area. As I’ve told everyone else she did not look to be injured or in distress. She looked like everyone else that was there that night. I’m not really sure which part of my statements another poster said didn’t calibrate with other statements I made and I’d like to see if someone could point those out to me.
As far as everything else goes, I had initially created the Facebook group as a way to spread the word of Morgan’s story not only through my friends, but their friends as well. Hoping a chain reaction would be created and maybe someone else who also had seen her but not knowing that she disappeared would come forward. Overnight it seemed to been blown into a nationwide group of people concerned for Morgan. Am I glad I created now even with all these things people say about me? Yes. I believe any of you here or interested and concerned for Morgan would have done it eventually as well.
Others would ask how I got on TV and why was I so special that people wanted to talk to me? To answer that question, I have no clue. I think one reason would be the fact that I’m long-time friends with a local anchor here in Charlottesville, and perhaps he noticed the group and it went from there. Mere hours after creating the group I was contacted by Good Morning America, some local news stations and then eventually CNN. GMA called me several times as I do have my number posted on my site which can be seen by anyone thats a friend. After speaking with a fellow a few times on the phone they never decided to follow-up with me. Eventually I got a call from a local station in Richmond who wanted to do a story on how the internet was being used to help find Morgan. And since I was the guy who made the group they asked me to do an interview and I said sure. What if someone else had seen something, but was to afraid to go public and they see that I did and it gives them to courage to also come forward. I never did it out of any right to be “famous” or the such. I was then contacted several upon several times by CNN as at the time I guess I was the only person who thought he had seen Morgan that night. They literally hounded me for an interview. I just want to reiterate to people I never once reached my hand out to these peoples in hopes of being on TV. They came to me. On the flipside of that I did reach out to several other news publications, such as America’s Most Wanted asking them to run a story on Morgan. When I was contacted by news publications it was because they wanted my story, when I reached out it was because I wanted others to hear Morgan’s story. That’s all I’ve been trying to do since that night.
To answer another question by another poster, I never left the arena that night. I worked at the JPJ many years back and knew the policy. I did venture out a few times to get food and drink and even smoke a couple cigarettes in between the bands. However, I remained inside the concert hall during Metallica’s entire set. As it was an experience I didn’t want to miss. At the end of the night as I was separated from my friends in the crowds I waited outside the front gates for them to show. Marvin came out and then my other friend Josh. Marvin walked off to find the other guys and I offered to give Josh a ride home. Not seeing my other friends outside yet we decided to walk back down along 29 to BW3′s where my car was parked. My cell phone was on the entire time I just never heard it go off until I got home and checked my messages.
I hope this post wasn’t to long and answers most peoples questions. I will do what I can to continue in the search for Morgan and do whatever I can in my power to join everyone else in the aid to find her.
My closing comments would be that even though it’s been several months and no one has heard from Morgan, I’d like to continue the hope in my heart that she is found and comes home one day.
Why did WT leave during the Metallica concert?
I remember we asked him, but I think he dilly dallied around the answer. Does anyone remember?
