@Beejay, I wonder if he is an out-of-wedlock child. Just a guess, as he is 38, CGL is 63 and his daughters are 21-25. CGL was about 38 when he married. Another thought is a cousin on the paternal side. I haven’t researched the brothers of Blair Lee III. Perhaps an adoption by an older sib, though no official record I can find. That he is tied to CGL and ex-wife makes me think he at least shared a residence, which would probably mean the mansion.
@Lizzy, I think you are on to something with St John’s. The dates really seem to line up. PS – I don’t know how you can stand to look at all those posters for CGL, but I will say I think it is good that at least you know the truth. A lot of those molesters are walking around we don’t even know who they are.

Most of the child-rearing was left to her. As a mother and a Girl Scout leader, she was clear about her standards but encouraged others to reach their own conclusions, to think and act freely. She brought her children up as Catholics like her (Blair is Episcopalian) but ultimately it dawned on her that going to church rigorously “put me in the worst humor.” Now she stays home from church.

Back in 1973, while serving his first term as lieutenant governor, Lee admitted going through a “period of massive disillousionment.” He was deeply troubled by Spiro T. Agnew’s downfall, Watergate and news stories hinting at, but never proving improprieties on his own part.
His political uneasiness coincided with a number of family crises, including the suicide of one of his seven sons. Another son who was arrested for peddling marijuana was acquitted on technical grounds. Other sons dropped out of school and were leaving home to seek alternative life styles.
In an extraordinarily frank interview at the time, Lee confessed that he lacked “the kind of driving ambition to reach the top.” He said he was considering getting “the hell out” of politics because of the growing public perception that “all politicans are crooks by definiton.”
Five years later, Lee is seeking the governorship with unqualified ambition. He accepts the occasional political advice of his father, now 85 years old. He is surrounded by several of his sons who have joined the campaign to help their father achieve a goal they once rejected.
Blair Lee IV, who gave up a promising career in law and politics to eke out a living on a subsistence farm in Appalachia, was making his annual spring trip to his grandfather’s farm in northern Montgomery County to pick up a few cows and a bull last year where he stopped at a fund-raiser for his father and was asked to help in the campaign.

Prominent developer, 77, tried in secret juvenile court

MARYLAND–A prominent 77-year-old Washington, D.C.-area real estate developer pleaded guilty in a secret juvenile court proceeding in early June to a misdemeanor child abuse charge, according to the Montgomery County state’s attorney.
The developer, E. Brooke Lee Jr., was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to the prosecutor’s office. According to accounts in The Washington Post, Lee gave the 14-year-old babysitter some wine and asked her to come to his bedroom in July 1994. There, he reportedly fondled and kissed her before she ran from the room and hid in a closet. She called her parents and hid until they arrived to take her home.
At the victim’s request, Lee was given the option of pleading guilty to a misdemeanor in juvenile court, a rarely used secret court proceeding which is meant to protect the privacy of the victim.
Lee is scheduled to be sentenced for contributing to the delinquency of a minor in a closed hearing in early August. His punishment could be up to two years in prison and a $500 fine.
The victim’s parents also filed a civil suit in mid-July against the developer in Montgomery County Circuit Court alleging assault, battery, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The suit was settled for an undisclosed amount less than a week later.

@ Lizzy. Makes sense to me as to who may have offered C Lee life changing experiences. As for his suicided brother, look at what happened to the life of the teen Cote vic in Md. Dooley had multiple vics in that era and was their parish priest.
A psychiatrist friend and colleague from Silver Spring whom I worked with in a Fed mental hospital left that job for a more sane life, taking a job at St Luke’s in Silver Spring (late 80s). At the time she depicted her work setting as an inpatient treatment facility for pedophile priests only. She said they came from all over. While a highly gifted clinician and very liberal, I think she viewed the population she worked with as intractible. I bet Dooley has medical records there.

My father’s side was intensely Catholic with Silver Spring, Hyattsville aunts/cousins whom I didn’t know. Catholics who lived there in that era were really devout. likely her boys & girls went to Catholic Schools also. So many of them here.

Some articles refer to a trailer that Dooley owned at Rehoboth Beach. However, another link, now dead and I haven’t yet found the info elsewhere, indicated that Dooley owned the trailer together with another priest, also accused of abuse.

I had noticed this rumor spinning for a couple of days. It’s getting more specific in claims of child porn on JS computer and a PSU booster involved.
I thought i left a post here about a booster club member allegedly connected with JS along with a suspicious rumor that JS computer contained child porn, though not of any of his victims.

Raykovitz in turn told a few members of his staff and the board’s executive members what Curley had told him.
Bruce Heim was one of them.
“It goes right to the heart of what Tim Curley said to the grand jury, and that is that Tim Curley told him that he didn’t want Jerry Sandusky on campus anymore in the showers, because we were in a day and age where that was inappropriate,” Heim said.
Heim asked Raykovitz if anything inappropriate happened between the boy and Sandusky, and Raykovitz answered, “No.”
That’s what Raykovitz believed, based on what Curley had told him.
“They looked into it,” Raykovitz told Heim, according to Heim’s memory. “And nothing inappropriate happened.”
Raykovitz then asked Heim — a local real estate investor and someone who isn’t shy about his loyalty to Penn State, the Paterno family and many of the key players in this scandal — if he should relay this to the full board.
“And I said no,” Heim said.
“For five years, I worked out at the football facility, several times a week, and saw Jerry showering with children,” he said. “I said I don’t think it’s relevant. It happens every day at the YMCA. I remember the conversation specifically because it seemed like a nonstarter because of what Penn State said went on.”
On that advice, Raykovitz didn’t tell the board. He did have a talk with Sandusky, and told him to be more careful.
Sources say Raykovitz told Sandusky that as silly as it might sound, maybe he should wear swim trunks if he’s showering with kids after a workout.

There is no current mention of Sandusky cooperating with federal investigators while he sits in prison. At times after his arrest, his calm demeanor suggested he was waiting to be delivered from conviction by influential friends. Since that hasn’t happened, he may have decided to seek a quid pro quo by naming names of other pedophiles with whom he was operating, at Second Mile and Penn State.
Postal inspectors are now looking into allegations that Sandusky was sharing child pornography with other pedophiles, using the US mail. This could expose a network that extends far beyond Pennsylvania.
It’s not clear who at Second Mile made the recent decision to transfer the charity’s remaining assets, $2.6 million, to Houston-based Arrow Child and Family Ministries. It is clear, however, that Arrow Ministries has significant connections to the Bush family.
On Arrow’s board of directors sits Maria Bush, the wife of Neil Bush, son Of George HW Bush and Barbara Bush. Another board member, Susie Peake, “…served in various capacities for George HW Bush for over ten years.”
Twenty-three years ago, a child prostitution scandal, known widely as the Franklin Coverup, threatened to explode in the media and take down the Bush White House. Despite reports in the NY Times and the Washington Times, and despite brief television news coverage from Connie Chung and Tom Brokaw, the investigation dissolved and disappeared.
It’s worth noting that last month, the mother of one of Second Miles’ “unintentional” board members was kidnapped in Maryland, handcuffed and driven around for a full day. No ransom demands were made. She was later found unharmed in a car. The FBI are pursuing leads on a suspect. The woman is the mother of Cal Ripken. Had he been making unwelcome comments about Second Mile?

Raykovitz/Genovese should not speak to anyone is right. When I can get my head on straight, I will open this can from my perspective, but how this man has avoided ethical complaints as a licensed psychologist treating at risk youth and not investigating internally is beyond my comprehension.

I thought it a little odd that Sandusky mentioned in Touched (the book) that Bruce Heim had started and franchised a Friend Fitness program. I didn’t realize that it was a Second Mile program, but it is. Heim is very into physical fitness, and vigorous exercise as a means of building character.

On pg 226 of Touched, after Sandusky talked about the decision to leave PSU, he said he spent the evening before he finally gave his resignation with friends, but didn’t talk much about his ambivalence. He sort of talked as if it were a PSU vs. TSM decision. Went on to say he realized TSM people (adults) were the ones who always helped him thru a crisis. Mentioned Bruce Heim and Dr. John Reidell. If you follow his thought process, you wonder why those names came to mind. So, it’s possible one/both of those men were among the friends he spent that pre-resignation evening with. Or, maybe not. (Name of his then-current child-victim is also in that remembrance.)
Heim was also credited with being 1 of the 2 people who gave TSM an office bldg. Very generous guy. Other credit given to a Fred Nicholas. (there’s a lot of interesting stuff in the portions you can read on amazon.com)
@erose: Or, from the other point of view, now that things are coming out, IF there was abuse with those youth programs of Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, maybe Vi Ripken’s kidnapping was related to something on THAT end of things?? Sure seems to me, given what’s been released so far, as a warning shot to the Ripkens. (Vi is shown on paperwork as a founder and still active)

paints a nice picture of Heim. He was certainly integrated into
Paterno’s needs to mentor his problem players.

Dominic Toscani (there’s an elder & a Jr) founded The Caritas Foundation, which still has its mailing list as Wayne, PA (a Mainline locale).
In 1999, when Sandusky retired as PSU coach, Dominic Toscani brought Sandusky onto Bd of Directors of Toscani’s printing company, Paris Corp (the one that had done TSM’s printing)

Since erose brought up one of those photos in Touched, I revisited something. Remember when we talked about Dominic Toscani’s family-related private foundation, Caritas Foundation?
Did we note that foundation’s charitable gifts/grants? Just for starters, go look at pgs 20 and 21 at this 1999 IRS filing. You’ll find CF gave grants to both The Second Mile and to Matthew Sandusky Association (listed as a Public Charity). IIRC, 1999 was the first year that Jerry was a Director of Toscani’s company Paris Business Forms.
