Blink with the Bone made me cheer.
Hidden Hurt made me so sad.
Your look to 2014 gives me hope.

Lol, on a positive note, it is true I am a shameless puppy pimp

    Harper Weston Wolfgaard

Megan’s case was one of the most heinous autopsies I have ever had to analyze. Because of the status of the case, I cant go into the detail I would like. I am very proud of our work on that case, but it was Kelly’s win. For weeks straight, then months, we spent all hours of the day and night with one goal. I have had enough experience to address the hidden pain, I saw it, we dealt, she dealt and I was so unbelievably proud of her ability to keep trying to heal as best she could.

I don’t know if I could ever do an adequate job describing our journey and the way I felt when I learned she lost her faith, or will to fight, as it were. The Sharpton women will be with me always

  5. A Texas Grandfather says:

Harper Weston in from a romp in the snow with her beautiful parent.

I was sorry to learn that Kelly Sharpton had lost the fight and taken her life. We can only do so much to help in this area. My grandmother who lost all but two of her 13 children prior to her death had a conversation with me about how hard it was to loose a child. It was the only time I ever saw her cry. Disease took them and that is hard enough, but to loose a child to a murder must be the hardest of all.

You and your team should be proud of yourselves for the work you do to help others. Without a doubt, you have created the most honest and respectful crime blog on the net. And you have gathered a group of caring posters that contribute in many ways from their knowledge base and the desire to help others.

I will look forward to the new developments associated with more interviews. Maybe you and your team will be able to change the way media deals with crime to make it more honest and helpful to victims families and to those in the criminal justice systems.

I humbly thank you ATG- but without the fact that at some point on our cases a family member or LEA placed their trust in me, we could accomplish nothing. Those in that position to be able to do that to me is nothing short of herculean. I know what your Grandmother went through was brutal, yes, but you are absolutely right about a murdered child being an entirely different hell on earth.

Maybe one day I will write about my experiences with Kelly and Megan Sharpton and how it has made me grow, grieve and more things that are too raw for me to say out load right now. I do wish to acknowledge that Sheriff Tim Fuller and Detective Todd Hindman are to be commended on their work on this case.

I wonder if my words last night are do-able. If not I will fail by trying anyway- it’s all I know.

Thank you on Harper Weston. The 12 pounder is 12 tons of joy.
She is a wolpack of one and let us in (LOL, you are not going to get the reference but it is from the Hangover and if my Poppa was alive I would have used it on him and laughed because he had no idea what I was talking about either xoxo)

    Hey Blink,

Not sure if I’m just feeling a little emotional today or what, but I LOVED your interview. It made me laugh “Blink with a Bone” it made me shed a tear “Kelly Sharpton” and it made me feel hope (i.e. your goals for the New Year). I am so happy that I found your site so long ago. I just finished reading The Murder Business, couldn’t put it down.. and know without a doubt that a fire has been lit under you with regards to investigative reporting. I look forward to what that means and what it will bring with regards to helping bring justice to victims without a voice.

    Your the greatest!! xo

    Too kind and thank you

  7. Lyndsay says:

So sad to hear about Kelly Sharpton. It must be hell on earth to be thinking about your daughter’s last brutal minutes all the time, which is what I imagine she might have been feeling. I hope she and Megan have found eachother and are at peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to their family, who now have to live with the death of Kelly as well.

I assume you’re holding off on part 2 of the McStays because of the information that is due to be released next week (some forensics?)

I am not sure how much will be released next week, but not ripe.

    Blink:
You had mentioned that you will be working on some cold cases in 2014…are you familiar w/ the Aliayah Lunsford case in WV? If so, any thoughts or comments? Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated, this case has gripped my heart and it seems that it has gone cold, thank you!

I am, but the cold cases I was referring to I have been working on for a few years and it has been a difficult balance to give them the attention they need but one of my commitments for 2014.

Blink seeing your wise face and your beautiful smile made my night!! Thank you for hanging in there through thick and thin for victims and their families. I am forever indebted to you for opening my eyes to so much, and for giving me some hope that some one like you and the people who have found your advocates page are out there in this sad and cruel old world. Kind intelligent people who offer their knowledge , insight and compassion here on a daily basis. proof of goodness in an otherwise scary and evil landscape.
A.T.G lovely to see you and your thoughtful input here keeping up the tradition.
Happy holidays one and all. J4M!!

_ I was so sad to read of Kelly Sharptons despair and death. She was such a kind woman, whose love for Megan shown thru in every post she wrote..

your picture, must say you look so much like your beautiful mom, something in the eyes.

I am looking forward to your live coverage… I wonder how that is going to work?

I hope you will have hard hitting interviews where you are not afraid to ask the hard questions, where you will not care if something is said that may alienate the person…I hope each case you cover each interview you do- works to progress the case and achieves the goal of helping the victim and their families.

May we all strive to help you reach your goals as they are worthy of achieving for all of us.

    Hi Blink,

Just listening to the podcast now…First, as one of my parrots would say “you’re gawjuss!” I knew you were beautiful on the inside and now we know your outside matches…:)

I come here almost daily, but don’t post much. I’m also in NJ, so I feel a sense of pride that I share my state with you! I’m older than you too…so please listen to me babygirl. I’m worried. You give SO much of yourself…I’m worried that you don’t realize at all the specialness of who and how and what you are or what you do…you think you are “just” being a “decent person”…You connect so strongly, and forever, with the mothers that have lost their babies…and they with you. Hell, you become a mother to the ones that don’t have the kind of mother they should (Caylee)…You have a family, a full time job, this amazing website…and an adorable little puppy! I want to make you a hot cuppa tea, hug you, and let you just talk — can we do a version of that on here? Just vent. Get it all out with like minded people..if you don’t want to put it on the site, then pick a few of your favorites that you trust, put together a private list and GET IT OUT.

I hug you…not in a weird stalkerish way, but in a mom way…:)

Hello – Just wanted to tell you, you are very pretty, and your little dog is as well. Not that I ever thought you weren’t, but nice to confirm, with a picture to go along with it!! Happy Holidays to you and family, and to that adorable little dog you have. God Bless and thanks for all you do and your insight and information on some of these horrible crimes that seem to occur all too frequently. Katt West

  17. Ragdoll says:

I think I speak for all when I say we’d love to squish both those adorable faces….LOL! I love how dogs bring out the best in us. Don’t get me started…is it the whiskers? The wet nosies? Those HARPING eyes ;)

O/T…but I never thought we’d get another dog. Maybe because my better half said it would never happen? We adopted a chocolate lab from a rescue shelter, Ranger Huckleberry. The good Lord just knows what we need and when we need it. We learned we needed him as much as he needed us <3 Harper looks like a little furball wrapped in happy.

God bless our wee angel boy, Kyron. Children and animals steal my heart.

Happy New Year, my dear friends @ BOC! Peace and joy be with you step for step. xo

Love and warmth to you and yours FriendLY- and yes, I believe divinity played a role in Ms. Harper Weston’s addition to our fam.

    Hugs sweet friendy.

-43 C is common in his neck of the woods…and that ain’t including the wind chill factor. It’s very flat terrain. However, it appears southern Sask isn’t the only place suffering from severe cold. When escaped convicts head back to prison because they can’t handle Jack Frost, it’s dayum cold.

    Stay warm xo xo xo

Today (February 28, 2014) the TBI has served search warrants in the Holly Bobo case. Thought you would be interested since it’s a case you covered. Not much has been released yet…
