Kyron Horman Missing: New Years Eve Settlement Ends Horman Marriage
Portland, OR- In a surprise court hearing, Judge Henry Kantor signed off on the agreement between Kaine Horman and Terri Moulton Horman to end their marriage this afternoon.
Details of the agreement have not been released publicly, but according to KGW, a financial settlement to include child support and a lump payment to Terri Horman has been reached.
In what can only be described as a bitter family court feud- the divorce matter was last in court on December 16th to decide if the Horman landscaper, Rodolfo Sanchez Estrada -who alleges Terri Horman tried to hire him to murder Kaine Horman at a lunch meeting – would testify.
Judge Kantor has not yet filed an order from that hearing but Attorneys for Terri Horman were granted a continuance from the pending temporary custody motion scheduled for December 19th and 20th.

IMO, Kaine does think TMH may have had nothing to do with harming Kyron, or at least thinks whatever she allegedly did that may have caused harm to Kyron was unintentional. I know, if it were me, and I truly believed my spouse intentionally harmed my child, it would be a cold day in hell before he’d have any access to another one of my children, even if I had to leave the country so he couldn’t get it.
Kaine at one point even said publicly, she may have nothing to do with it. DY on the other hand, absolutely believes Terri harmed Kyron. The question is why?

I asked her what she would do if she was approached by this guy. “I’d never let this guy grab me, or touch me, I’d scream and run.” I looked at her and said, honey, that’s not the way they usually work. They try to *con* you. Like, Could you come help me get something out of my car? Or could you give me directions to such and such? Or have you seen a little lost dog running around here he jumped out of my car in the parking lot? Or I’m here to pick up BobbyJo and he told me to meet him at the gym, can you show me where it is? etc.,etc.,etc., Honestly, I don’t think her folks had ever had this discussion with her before. About how clever these AH’s can be. I was really surprised. Talk to your kids, or your friend’s kids.

I hope you are working on getting back to June 4, 2010 and what happened that day. That thread (even though DAD’s had extremely robust activity), was the one that, for me anyway, started bringing us all back to the crime scene and what better place to start again?
To this day, I still cannot understand why Desiree Young does not put her money and the money they’re raising into the hiring of a PI. If she is so certain it was TMH and not some stranger, then my goodness, wouldn’t it make sense for her to do exactly that, and start with TMH?
Instead she hires ER, expensive attorney, and now a bunch of out-of-state K-9 teams…..to search ground already gone over by LE. This makes so little sense to me. I keep getting this feeling that she’s subconsciously trying to tell us to look the other way. Or she’s afraid to look the other way. IDK, drives me nuts.

Thanks for your link to the story about the teen who by the hard work of the detective was saved from a nightmare of existence. The detective should get a big reward.
I couldn’t agree with you more about parents making time to spend with their teens where these issues are discussed. Girls and boys need to begin learning about these things beginning in the first grade with additional information provided as they mature.
This young girl lost her way by choosing to run with the wrong crowd in High School. POT and alcohol will put your brain into a bad state while the wrong thinking crowd makes it all the worse.
I hope she can find something useful in music. She may have talent or not. Maybe at her new school she will learn how music is organized and how to really play the guitar. She at least recognizes how close she came to ruining her life and is willing to help others.

Re. the settling. I do know that the bridge of estrangement was wide and dangerously wobbly. And it will take a long time to heal the primal wounds. This settlement was a for sure chance at beginning the healing. But i’m still trying to figure out how it came about that Staton’s assertion “the divorce is a private matter” in 2010 became Carlos’s mantra 4 years later and never did get challenged publicly. No talking heads, no media would touch it while yet another child was thrown into the arms of a parent whose “…then I tied her shoes” was his only claim to bonding.

Did we miss this, or is my memory getting worse? There are several points of interest in this article; Houze was his attorney, how his blog and FB page pushed his crime lower on a google search, how he is married to a prominent woman. Since we cannot get Kyron off our brains, it’s not so hard to think maybe Nigel could either. Maybe his investigation took him here, not because this was Kyron’s offender, but someone like this, and how they are treated and somewhat accepted due to their status and intelligence, though he did not get back in to L&C.

This article calls Luna a Lt. It reads like she got a rank demotion between 2010 & the mail incident.
Interestingly, in that Federal case where both Mary & Bobby had to pay their fines personally for opening a prisoner’s mail to his defense lawyer against a prior Court order, Bobbi said her superior Mady directed her to, and Mary said she didn’t. One of them was lying under oath. Yet, even taking Mary in the best light as truthful, Judge Ancer Haggerty still held her personally accountable and personally fined her as the senior deputy and direct supervisor. That tells me if Terri sues MCSO on a federal question, Judge Haggerty is itching to clean house, and makes a good case, the Sheriff would have accountability. That mail btw would only have information useful to and sought by the prosecutor, so Haggerty doubtless realized the buck really stops with the DA when MCSO Captns are seeking trial-relevant info by illegal means. Probably the DA isn’t filing Terri charges because then he’d have to turn over investigatory info & the means by which it was acquired. At least until A Haggerty retires.

Thanks quizzi- it annoyed me so much I responded. Her post was not deleted either. In a nutshell, I can tell you as a point of fact that her comments have no legal foundation, and moreover, they are just incorrect and if she bothered to consult with DA Underhill directly, ( I say this like she has the option as a victim under the law, because she does) however, my sources tell me he has made it clear he will not discuss the case in any capacity outside of his assigned staff to include investigators currently assigned. Does she know that he is under investigation by the Oregon Bar and recently lost a major appeal?
Lastly, once again, if she is so confident of TMH guilt why drop the civil suit that was publicly funded for her?

The weird thing about DY’s post is that arresting TH for murder for hire now would in no way preclude LE from charging her or prosecuting her for Kyrons disappearance once they found his body. So why would they wait to arrest her if they had solid MFH evidence now. It does not make any sense.
The other thing that is strange these same people believe that anyone who believes TH is innocent disagreers with their message and posts online will somehow be arrested for aiding TH which is completely ludicrous. I see from her post that they get these ideas from DY.
DY is married to a LE officer so she must know these statements are a bunch of BS. I think she realizes her followers are not all playing with full decks so not only would they believe a false statements from her but they would serve as rallying point for them.
I don’t understand why any agency interested in or participating in aid to families that have lost a child would allow a person who is willing to resort to deceptive practices and the continued harassment of someone who may very well be innocent to serve as one of their representatives.

Let’s pretend Terri planned a MFH and LE has all the evidence they need for an arrest. Why hasn’t she been arrested by now? If Terri did do something with/to Kyron, that would be a separate charge. My common sense tells me LE is NOT going to sit on the MFH charge until Kyron has been found and LE would potentially use the MFH charge as a bargaining chip to find information about Kyron’s whereabouts.
So the big questions are, could LE actually hold out on arresting a person who planned a MFH when LE has all the evidence they need for an arrest? If so, why? Was the claim used by LE as a tactic to scare Terri into talking?

I need to send Rose the entry in my big dictionary for the word “penumbra”. It is four column inches long. A word with a french root first applied to shadows from sun spots and eclipses of moon and planets.
I was laughing at the use of the word in her post regarding DY in the role of “sun spot” or the planet creating the shadow on another. Either way it made sense. However, there are several uses of the word that have emerged over time to give it relevance in other areas that some meaning near to the original that would still fit the case.
I suppose the next thing to figure out is what is a “pig cloud” or does it relate to a certain person’s appearance?
Maybe, just Maybe, something will happen to give Judge Haggerty the opportunity to do a house cleaning on Portland’s criminal justice agencies.
It is interesting that the hater page posters act like LE suspicious of people not in agreement with them about Teri’s role in Kyrons disappearance.
I think that any SZ involved in disappearing Kyron would be consistently posting on the anti Terri sites so as to keep the focus away from themselves and centered on Teri. Its probably a good thing that Kelly sends the sheets filled out by the searchers to LE where background checks can be done on the people who are inserting themselves into this case.

I keep hoping that Desiree will put Kyron first, and I am saddened that she has always failed him. I lay a huge part of the blame on people turning away from looking for this missing child in their area on her inability to see the damage she has done to the case of finding Kyron Horman. I really hold out hope that he will be found (a la Shawn Hornbeck)and will come back and explain to these “Warriors” how much he wished they had been looking FOR him, instead of AT Terri.
I think the only possible arrests for ‘multiple MFH plots’ coming out of all this might be related to those in the hater crater who have been incited by Desiree’s ‘harass Terri in her hometown’ mantra, who have made documented threats of death and torture in their surrogate hate campaign. I am baffled at the mass delusions she has been able to garner by creating this pitiful ‘mother’ who spews vitriol at a feigned ‘evil stepmother’ she fully supported until she realized her white picket fence public image whitewash was fading (she lashed out when the public started questioning why she left her boys and people didn’t readily buy her health issue excuse).
(And yes, Rose, I am likely one of her alleged 4 supporters – even tho I am not admin’ing or posting on the ‘terri supporter’ facebook pages they are battling with now, and I do not use ‘fakies’ to post, like they do. I know that neither DeDe nor Terri are part of either The Tide or Trashy’s Too pages, which seems to be their focus now. Not sure who they think the other ‘supporters’ are.)
I hesitated in posting this, because while I absolutely do not agree with DY’s behavior- I do understand it, if that makes sense.
And- I want to make sure that all commentary regarding same is respectful to the fact that at the end of the day- I believe Kyron Horman is deceased, has been since shortly after his disappearance on June 4th, 2010, and that his disappearance was an opportunistic but sexually motivated crime (absent information 4 years later to the contrary) and his Mother is beyond grief.
That said- treating a crime victim with respect does not mean we allow them to victimize others with their conduct.

We don’t know if someone has told DY the above or if it is just more smack talk to rally believers, scare dissenters and maybe irritate TH and her lawyers enough that they will say something about the statement publicly.
If I think about multiple MFH’s i have to wonder who else would TH plot to murder and why. A motive was talked about of why TH would plan murder Kaine it was pretty flimsy but sort of a motive anyway. That was the motive that Kaine might be able to take Kiara from TH in a divorce because of sibling separation or something like that.
Who else would TH want murdered and why. Not Desiree because she wanted DY to get custody of Kyron. Maybe Kaine’s mistress at the time but then TH really did not even know who this person was. The landscaper but….. he supposedly was the hit man. Several implied more then 3 so who does DY think TH wanted deep six.
Since DY says there ARE not WERE several MFH plots does she mean that she thinks there are currently MFH plots afoot originated by TH.
MFH is probably pretty expensive the purported amount for Kaine was $10,000 so wouldn’t several MFH’s be very expensive.

IMO is a very odd statement.
@cd. I assumed Young referred to several solicitations made to differing potential killers
with the same target, Kaine. After all, for Kyron, she only needed DeDe…and a male unknown who
was comfortable & canny re el ed negotiation and eliciting the coooperation of a 7 yo and a teacher.
And, if the male conspirator was all that, why didn’t he just kill Kaine for his fee, yielding Terri insurance dough, as in that event she’d have rid herself of Kyron anyway, who’d move to Young’s.
And if she’d sued for divorce, and aired the mistress & steroids into the pleadings, that’s all DY needed for a change of circumstances review & shifting Kyron’s principal residence. No, the way this unfolded is the only way Kaine got to keep almost everything. It seems planned, but not by Terri.
@Blink. Do you know whether the current nanny was the preabduction mistress?

btw After being what could kindly be called a media hog (multiple print sources, & local and national TV) speaking out to state over time Terri is guilty guilty guilty, imo Tony’s entire & absolute disappearance from the media seems to me his self-help to try to convert himself from a public and publicity-seeking figure to a private figure, as Terri did after receiving Houze’ counsel. Having realized this, my own take is to let the sleeping dog lie, & treat him as private (except of courseDesiree quotes his words as wrt the People article reaction), and make no further comment on his actions or beliefs. Tho the private figure Terri remains fair game from Desiree’s pov.
