Kyron Horman Missing: New Years Eve Settlement Ends Horman Marriage

Portland, OR- In a surprise court hearing,  Judge Henry Kantor signed off on the agreement between Kaine Horman and Terri Moulton Horman to end their marriage this afternoon.

Details of the agreement have not been released publicly, but according to KGW,  a financial settlement to include child support and a lump payment to Terri Horman has been reached.

In what can only be described as a bitter family court feud-  the divorce matter was last in court on December 16th to decide if the Horman landscaper,  Rodolfo Sanchez Estrada -who alleges Terri Horman tried to hire him to murder Kaine Horman at a lunch meeting – would testify.

Judge Kantor has not yet filed an order from that hearing but Attorneys for Terri Horman were granted a continuance from the pending temporary custody motion scheduled for December 19th and 20th.

Stacey Morris is the mom who’s children are murders. I think it was the hate filled environment in her home that led to this murder note that 2 of her children participated in this horrible crime. Notice how the KATU reporter tries to justify this crime with a baseless accusation at the end of the piece. As if you could justify this senseless execution style murder. There has been a problem with the press in Portland for a long time.

Thanks to those that posted the audio. At the end of the hearing the court hung the name change over TH’s head. Either you add further information regarding the Kyron Horman investigation (waive your 5th amendment rights) or I will not grant your name change.

I can now see why she chose to keep the Horman name through the divorce, as she stated the custody issue had not been resolved at that time.

It is so hard to listen to the ignorance of the four women testifying on behalf of public interest. It is equally hard to listen to a judge so uninformed about the matters of the case so much so he could not pronounce Kyron’s name.

The media, school, LE, bios and anyone who took part in the withholding of information, or dissemination of incorrect information should have a hard time sleeping knowing they have created these soldiers who have declared this war without due process.

  6. erose says:

I have developed an interest in this case beyond a child that has gone missing from a school (which is so off the charts already), but as it has evolved, the civil rights and railroading of an individual playing out in full view of the state (and county) without intervention or protest is also remarkable. It’s so hard to believe a judge in that very state is not paying attention.

So are name change hearings always recorded? Whose idea was it to do the audio? Kyle? KGW? Terri?

Was Kyle the only reporter there? I’m glad it was recorded and just want to say thanks to Kyle if it was his idea.

It would be great if this was some sort of set-up to get them under oath admitting who they are and what they do, as well as the fact that they dang well know she has never been called a suspect by LE. Witch hunters.

Sean Davidson had it right a long time ago. People need to quit looking up TMH’s arse, Kyron isn’t there.

Well if i ever need to lie to a judge while under oath with no consequences I know where to go. Maybe this judge needs to look up the laws about perjury as well a name changing.

I thought maybe watching the video that he was asking everyone if they knew Kaine and Desiree just to see if they would lie to him. He certainly seemed to give the last person he questioned enough verbal rope to hang themselves.

Also what happened to Desiree and the whole I want to get Terri on the witness stand so I can ask her where Kyron is thing. Looks like that was all just more smack talk. I think Desiree doesn’t want to talk about stuff under oath on a witness stand. Maybe she is afraid of answering some personal questions.

  20. thatkewlgirl says:

Been listening to the hearing audio and noticed that Stacey Green claimed that she knew where Terri was working. She said she couldn’t remember it… knew it was a medical place. Then agreed it was the VA when they found out Terri had volunteered there but couldn’t get hired because of who she is. Under oath, SG and Vernice both said it was the VA.

Well, today, on FB, Stacey claimed that she remembered where Terri worked now – a dialysis place called Davita. Proving Terri lied about work history.

Problem is… Stacey Green had actually gone to this place during the Stalker Chalker event (where she also is photographed with Desiree Young – she is the one with the chubby rear end in white t-shirt and dark jeans in the main photo, looking directly across towards Desiree).

Do these people not understand the repercussions of what they have done to themselves by misleading the judge (at least) and flat out lying under oath (at most)? Should have added – Stacey only CLAIMED that Terri worked, but offered ZERO proof of it. Terri did NOT work at Davita Dialysis (or anywhere else apparently) since she left Portland in 2010.

None of the statements made under oath had any proof of veracity, just a ‘I heard’, or ‘I believe’ or ‘my opinion’. None of it should have been allowed for any evidence of credibility and the judge should have demanded they give some example of EVIDENCE. Since he didn’t, I would infer he serves as a bad example of judicial entity in Douglas County!

In researching name changes, I noticed that minors must have consent of both parents in order for one parent to make a name change request on their behalf, and it dawned on me that TH would have had to get the other parent in James’ life to agree to go from James Ecker to James Moulton. She must have had to approach Ecker because although not bio, he was legal, right? Was it simply in James’ best interests to be known as Moulton while living with the Moultons? Seems he was an Ecker living with Hormans, so why did it matter? Then after Kyron went missing he went to live with Tarver for awhile, I guess because he was already in Roseburg, but wasn’t his parental bond with Ecker? Why did Ecker agree to the name change? Had to be for his own good to have his “only child” to date relinquish his name. Did he fear for “James Ecker” for some reason?

Women who leave a relationship with children from a guy will often begin to use the sir-name of the new guy in their life. Especially is this true where they have moved to a new community. IMO is not good for the children and shows the selfish behavior of the parent.

    ———————————————————–

Oregon has at least one exception I know of from recent experience – safety issues with the father AND father never lived with mother and child. The father still technically has parental rights because no decision was made to terminate or relinquish – no plan was completed by the father. Legal notice was posted in the newspaper and other required locations, but no response was made, so the change was allowed.

I had a number of students over the years in high school who would register under the last name of a stepfather even though it was not the legal name – some as early as grade school. We honored the family’s wishes and it did not cause a problem UNTIL graduation. Having a name you used during school years and potentially on your diploma did not work out well when you went to apply for college, financial aid and student loans, scholarships, or work (taxes) and were required to give your legal name and social security number, plus provide a birth certificate, and your names did not match up. As a counselor, it was my job to deal with the confusion it caused, but I do not know what legal issues arose after graduation. The simplest thing (though not really very simple), of course, was to change the school records back to match (link) the legal name before graduation. Unfortunately, many kids had a difficult emotional time with that decision, often bringing up old wounds.

Once a student reached legal age, they could pursue a change as an adult, but that could rarely be done before graduation and applications were due. Not sure about emancipation at 16, but that might allow you to pursue name change as an adult.

Of course, I am not a legal expert.

Hi, Grace. Glad to hear from you.

    ———

GraceintheHills, I had wondered that, too, but my recollection was that the emails were sent to a relative. Now I see that the reported recipient of the emails differs from news outlet to news outlet. KGW specifically said the emails were sent to an “extended member of the family”, which made me think it could not have been the testifier’s sister. But, when I searched for the link, I see that other sources attribute them to the more generic term “friends”. So who knows. As I’m typing this, though, I think she would have jumped at the chance to tell the judge about reading the so-called severe hatred emails, if she had read such a thing, though.

Here are a couple of links that show the reporting disparities regarding the email recipients:

    http://www.kgw.com/story/local/2014/08/06/11784768/
(link is from Nov. 2010, but must have been updated in Feb. of 2011)

Desiree Young appeared on Today Monday morning. She talked about explosive emails that police showed her just last Friday. Sources told KGW that the emails were sent from Terri to an extended member of the family in the weeks just before Kyron’s disappearance.

    http://www.katu.com/news/local/108352154.html

Kyron’s biological mother, Desiree Young, said investigators shared e-mails with her that Terri sent friends. She said in them Terri talked about hurting Kyron. Desiree said she now believes Terri is capable of doing so.

    Murder Biz’ jus sayin.
