Kyron Horman Missing: New Years Eve Settlement Ends Horman Marriage

Portland, OR- In a surprise court hearing,  Judge Henry Kantor signed off on the agreement between Kaine Horman and Terri Moulton Horman to end their marriage this afternoon.

Details of the agreement have not been released publicly, but according to KGW,  a financial settlement to include child support and a lump payment to Terri Horman has been reached.

In what can only be described as a bitter family court feud-  the divorce matter was last in court on December 16th to decide if the Horman landscaper,  Rodolfo Sanchez Estrada -who alleges Terri Horman tried to hire him to murder Kaine Horman at a lunch meeting – would testify.

Judge Kantor has not yet filed an order from that hearing but Attorneys for Terri Horman were granted a continuance from the pending temporary custody motion scheduled for December 19th and 20th.

Father Speaks Out Against Son’s Abuser

Posted on: Apr 23 2015 in Crime, Northwest with 1 Comment

‘Mike’, the father of a young boy who is believed to be a victim of sexual assault, joined the show on Thursday to share the details surrounding the investigation. 35-year old Eben Kaneshiro was charged Monday with three counts of first-degree sodomy and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

Mike says that Kaneshiro is related to the husband of Mike’s ex-wife. Mike says that his two young children lived in a house with several adults. Mike says that Kaneshiro came home after a night of partying and sexually assaulted his son several times.

“Mitchell Kelly was found NOT GUILTY at trial yesterday. How about writing a story that clears his name. Media helped destroy this teen’s reputation, how about if media rights the wrong… This boy deserves it. Call out the LE that railroaded this teen by ‘leaking’ untruths to the media.

It’s time to think about the impact media has on people’s lives. Destroying people, especially teens, before due process can happen needs to stop. ”

Imo this prosecution, like Kyron’s media prosecution led by tge DA office & mcso against his functional mother, was in its first year a Charlene Woods problem. Roddy promoting her up to Chief Deputy at least got her out of line supervision of the Muktidisciplinary child abuse unit.
There she supervised Heidi, Kyron’s fulltime ADA for Year 1, and Bobby O’D, who had been detailed to Charlene’s Unit for 5 years. O’D didn’t just pop up as the mcso lead investigator. He came to the role as a part of Charlene’s team. Roddy later transferring the case to Rees from Woods, that’s equal to Bobby O moving to K9.

mbs, as a Woods expert, is she a racial minority in O reporter Everton Bailey Jr’s group, brcause he was uncritical of the lad’s charges, performed no investigation, & has not reported the jury verdict.

@Rose says: April 23, 2015 at 7:17 pFunny, every time I go back and read one of those Eagle’s Nest publications, I remember running the mimeograph machine in the school’s secretary’s office and thinking what a big deal that was. The main thing I will always remember and I can sense it now, even just speaking about it, is the smell of those papers.

(In case, as I assume many of you are, too young to remember these, this is how most publications from schools were reproduced when I was young. :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFIUm0DWA74

Truth…. I remember learning the mimeograph in HS. Fortunately I never was great – my ‘clerical office’ skills and my scores kept me from becoming a lifetime clerk at the Billings, Montana Court House.

But 6 years later I had to revive the skill for a round of copies in the HS I worked at. I think it was 1980 when they first started putting copy machines in schools.

    ===================================================================

I’m old enough to remember the correct definition of “feminism,” fighting so that women your age have the opportunities you have today. That definition was mutilated by mostly men in media.

I have no idea why you are, as you say above ‘not a feminist by any means.’ Unbelievable that you would insult (and also totally misrepresent) feminism but suggesting it’s something you personally will not be “by any means.”

You don’t seem to know much about what a feminist is, or the original goals of feminism, if you say that about yourself yet reap the rewards of being able to live the life that you live now.

Feminism definitions on this google search page summarize the general point: making sure that women’s rights are not denied to them any longer.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=Feminism%2C+definition&rlz=1CAACAC_enUS611US611&oq=Feminism%2C+definition&aqs=chrome..69i57.5638j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8

I’m pushing 60, Blink, and it’s not right for younger professional women to not understand those fights we fought before some of you were high school graduates. You reap the rewards of what I personally and many others fought for and were denied.

Made me REALLY upset to see you write that. I need to go cool off.

Nelmel- you may wish to take that pasta arm off “full blast”. I came back to this a few times to respond and honestly, anything I have to say about your condemnation of me ( when btw, how could you possibly know what I consider a feminist?) You made that judgement and I have no idea how you get to the place you did, but saying that I am not a feminist by any means, does not in any way make me an anti-feminist.

Imo that office was severely dysfunctional long before she got there (at least back to the time the lady who’s now on Mult Cty Bench was US Atty). Multiple married couples working together. The males supervising the female spouses of course. then a supervisor, the object of AM’s concern & focus leaves his office employee wife, tho he still co-litigates cases with her, & he takes up with another woman (probably some office secretary). It was reported AM & her husband were social friends with the dysfunctional supv & his separated wife.

It was reported, Blink, her treatment was for ptsd (rooted in childhood) which is often hand in hand with substance abuse. And the females are vulnerable to sexually predators, (cf Maxine Harris’ work)which I personally believe he was – in the workplace.
As for the PA DA & the gossip she lives with an ADA who left his wife, this male Supv in the OR AG’s office is proof that when a male Supervisor does it, it’s neither reported nor remarked on.

    NelMel, Blink –

The word ‘feminist’ has been charged for many decades. When I am asked why I am one, or entertain the (aghast!) “…but i’m NOT a radical feminist” I simply tell students or young and old friends that you are a feminist if you believe that there were and are inequities in society based on your sex, and that you are willing to do your part (in any small or big way) to expose and/or modify those inequities. Susan B. Anthony is one of my personal heroes. She fought (and went to jail even) for fifty years to get the right to vote…only to die just before it became law.

I was just thinking today after reading about Amanda and Kiren? that the news has changed. Initially she was painted as a ‘sexual’ harasser. Then news came out that it was more of a ‘get off my back’ retribution that could have been solved if all parties could just talk it out. And that Amanda could have been fighting (too hard) for the estranged and cheated-on wife (a personal friend).

But as a working mom I know what the stresses of just working a somewhat demanding job and trying to juggle children’s and a spouse’s needs. Chances are it was not ‘got it all’ bliss of “Madam Secretary” in that demanding job and household. Especially with her earlier instability as a child. I feel for her.

But it’s also not a good omen that the absolute corruption in the statehouse here is going to be resolved anytime soon.

    Rose,

‘this male Supv in the OR AG’s office is proof that when a male Supervisor does it, it’s neither reported nor remarked on.’

Remember Cogan? Although that was the exception. Sorry to see him leave, however. He was the only one willing to keep the pressure on Staton to stop wasting the taxpayer’s money. But, in general, the press and the public still believe it is ‘worse’ for a woman in public office to transgress in any way. i.e. Hillary.

Malty- I was raised by parents that always told me I could be or do anything I ever wanted and by example, my Mother was a self-made 30 year business owner and managing multi million dollar wholesale accounts. In her spare time and out of her own pocket she conducted WBA leadership seminars and donated her time and merchandise to redecorate childrens transitional homes and other disadvantaged communal housing. I was and am still in awe of her and I will never have the privilege she had of working for the most part, with all women. Growing up I obviously met some of those women- but at my Mother’s memorial I could not count on two hands the women who introduced themselves to me and told me she was so impactful on their lives in many ways they felt they owed their success to her. How humbling is that? And all the while I just wanted her to be my Mom.

My situation is almost entirely opposite and for the most part when I am working in my practice until we get down to task I am almost always met with the attitude like I am there to play dress up till tea time or some crap.

I have raised my daughter the same way and I laugh every time she uses the phrase – “you know Mom, I am a strong independent woman so I will decide.” LOL

I was not a suffrage founder nor a bra burner but like I hope all women do- I am of course grateful for those forging ways for us. I like to believe that I take no chit from anyone who might consider me inequal due to my gender, and I like to believe I am respectful enough to ask for help when my gender prohibits me from some areas in my job. ( ie: I will not interview a male incarcerated client by myself- ever). I do not wish to go into great detail about how gender issues have affected my earlier career but they have and you bet your bippy I handled them like “Me” not like Virginia Wolfe allowing her “little fish” to go into hiding because she felt intimidated by male fictional counterparts. I am a huge fan of Wolfe- just what I hope is safe analogy, lol.

  30. Amys Sister says:

Even after the feminist movement the feminine qualities are lacking in our society and therein lies the problem, IMO.

Having been born in the sixties I am a byproduct of the feminist movement in that my mother was busy going to college and eventually abandoned her family to be in the work force.

I grew up believing that having an income trumped being a mother. Sadly my first children grew up in daycares as a result.

I have been a stay at home mom the last three years and what a wonder it is for the children! Our home is cozier, friendlier, homier, and holds more love and comforts than ever. The pets, plants, and people who live here now thrive.

I have come home to all things female.

THAT is what needs to be brought to the work force. The female strengths of multi tasking and broad thinking, going on instinct and believing in the gut and heart, beauty, forthrightness, the value of family and children, compassion, care for our home (our planet) and the health of our environment, the food we grow and eat, and the strength of conviction.

Our world still has little respect for these offerings and it is my belief that it shows in gruesome television and media, the escalation in world violence, depression and bullying amongst our children, and the condition of our planet.

So, now that women have a place in the places of power and decision making it is time they do so from the center of being a feminine being, and not as a feminine being altering themselves to fit in a masculine world. Slow change, yes, but change I hope for.

Way off topic, I know, but we still have not established our fully embodied place as equally valued until that has happened. Once the balance has been achieved a whole new future exists for future generations.

And you know what, all of this is in some ways reflected in Kyron’s case. Kaine leaving a woman who is carrying his child! How is that so accepted in our world? Kaine is certainly not the first or last man to have done this. Or Terri moving in on a man whose wife is with child! Then placing herself as the mother of said child and Desiree walking away. The de-valuation of motherhood is a serious issue in society. Orphans, fosters, homeless children, irresponsible breeding….

The root of our ills, perhaps.

  31. MockingbirdSings says:

One last (probably) OT about women’s issues – this time in education. When I started teaching, my mom was teaching at another school and her principal was an older woman. Mom and the other female teachers were not allowed to wear jewelry or red dresses – too distracting for the children. I was working for an older male principal at another school and was told I needed to wear a little lipstick. This was 1965.

When I moved to Oregon in 1967, I wanted to wear a pantsuit to work. (Recess duty weather outside was cold!) I was told by other teachers that I had to ask the male principal first, and he said bring one to school and put it on after school and show him so he could see if it was OK. I brought one, but he said I didn’t have to model it because he mentioned it to his mother and she had just bought one and told him to say yes. (OK to roll eyes here)

O/T: “wear a little lipstick.” LOL Cause your students learned more effectively I guess :) I appreciate everyone willing to share some of their “feminine” experiences, both negative and positive. I know I said I wouldn’t but I will share this one of mine, and then let’s get back to topic ( although how about AS powerful post and a direct relation to Kyron potentially). Sorry for the length but it is necessary for the full effect.

Fresh from a second trimester miscarriage in my late twenties, I arrived back at work to a new boss. Not just a new boss, but a new executive team and new VP who all worked together previously. In my second day he asked that we meet to get to know each other and in that meeting he said – I am very sorry to hear about your “situation” and as a Father of four I can tell you and your husband will probably need a great deal of time to heal and to try and re-start your family so I am moving your position to an inside technical support position to take the stress off. He said- the pay is considerably less but now you won’t have to travel and that will give you plenty of time to make another baby.

(for those of you with steam coming out of your ears it gets better.) Oh, and btw, I will be assigning your accounts to one of our new senior sales executives. (this was a new male hire we were now part of a fortune 50 corporation which it’s primary leadership was mid 50 year old Southern men in the tech industry). I was livid to say the least. I saw an attorney and he told me he though I had an excellent case of discrimination, however, proving it was difficult, expensive and my firm had hefty coffers. I might get a settlement but if he heard me correctly I really just wanted to have my position back I had gained consulting and sales awards for over the last five years, and enjoy the elevated position it now entitled me to under the new regime. In the meantime, I was asked to reach out to my clients and arrange joint meetings where I was to tell them I was leaving my field position for a less maternally stressful one. You read that right. I had never even told my clients we were expecting ( rule 101) and now I was supposed to tell about 50 executives I had a miscarriage and would be trying again so apparently that meant sitting in an office standing on my head or some crap ( I never did figure out that correlation)

That was the last straw. I went back to my office, I called the VP of HR ( he came over with the big whigs) and would not speak to his admin but requested a conference call that day. He called me back personally after reviewing my file and said when I see a five year employee with your track record on the line with a concern I handle it personally…

Well to make a long story even longer, lol. We spent the next hour going over what had happened, and then I listened to him for the next half an hour explain how my boss was not only out of policy for his job description in making such decisions, but he was completely off the grid in how he handled the request to hand over accounts, etc, and in their view that is significant risk to the established revenue ( yeah folks, really comes down to that). IN FACT- they had just published a policy and metrics for SSE’s with my size account base and revenue growth records and projections to bump our base salary $20K ( this involved more travel and reimburseable expenses with more tiered levels of engagements so way more face time than before) and movement to quarterly bonuses from annual. It was a synthesis approach to utilize our sister co’s offerings within established accounts (hello six sigma anyone?) He told me that he was not permitted to share the content of our conversation directly without my permission but would be hanging up with me and calling my boss and under the guise of an employee change status review- if he was able to work it out there would be no need for escalation where they would need to get an official complaint and involve my lawyer, blah blah.

I was fortunate enough to have a best bud colleague in the office next to me who was horrified at the whole mess- so when I heard the intercom at around 4:55PM say “Come to my office now please” I mouthed in his doorway “please don’t leave” lol.

He (bossman) was as white as chalk, however, his face was red like an apple as he began to speak. He said HE had called HR after reviewing my records and had a change of heart- had reconsidered the fact that a better option would be to keep me on my accounts rather than transition them, so he would be willing to restore my old base salary and “give it a shot.”

Certain I had facilitated the conversation with HR but not saying so- he went on to say that my “distractions” about my former position would better be served in the future if I used my energies and focus to “produce more revenue” for the company rather than waste it’s time.

This was were my face got red. I replied. ” redacted”- I do not believe your information is accurate. I believe you will be restoring my position you chose to demote me from without cause at a salary increase of $20K, and my first quarterly bonus of (x) will be paid in three weeks. And as far as effective utilization of my time and focus- it would appear that in three hours I just got a $20K raise, or a rough estimate of a return on my investment of approximately $6700 per hour. I would call that a fairly productive use of my skills and time, wouldn’t you?

I will N E V E R forget the look on his face, the drop of his pen involuntarily from his hand, the inability for him to breathe or speak as there was no way he could trust what could come out of his mouth. About 45 seconds later I won the staring contest as he looked down and started to say something and I said, I look forward to us having a do-over and have no doubt that your many successful years in the industry will undoubtedly propel me in the future and I look forward to working with you.

I got up, walked out the door and asked him if he wanted the door open or closed and he muttered closed without looking up.

I started down the hall and reached my friends office where he was sitting there with his mouth gaping open, his index finger to his lips in the SSHH position, and his other index finger pointing to the phone. That rascal used the monitor system function from our boss’s admin’s phone to hear the ENTIRE THING. LOL.

For any of you that regularly follow here- if you recall me using the line “Your hired by the people above you and fired by the people below you”- I learned that from him. Which, he subsequently was about 2 years later after being promoted by promoting a new manager who was having an affair with an office staffer just so he could be promoted himself.

I posted this because I am hopeful if anyone is ever in a similar position it can be helpful and to say- yeah, in retrospect I did my dang part on that one- he was required to hire 3 female SSE’s after that as well.

Update: Before killing himself, Eben Kaneshiro left “numerous” notes indicating there were more victims in the Portland area.

A Southeast Portland martial arts instructor arrested last week for child sex abuse in Deschutes County was found dead in his jail cell early Sunday morning, sheriff’s officials said.

Eben Kaneshiro, 35, was the owner of New Breed Jiu-Jitsu, a martial arts gym at 9213 S.E. Foster Road, business records show.

Kaneshiro, the owner of New Breed Jiu-Jitsu, a martial arts gym at 9213 S.E. Foster Road, left “numerous notes” said John Hummel, Deschutes County District Attorney. “Some were for family members, but one particular note he left for detectives involved in his case indicated additional victims. He didn’t name the victims, but he said, ‘Here’s where you can look’ to find information about them.”

Hummel passed the information to Portland Police detectives, he said, because Kaneshiro’s note indicated the victims lived in the Portland area.

That line “here’s where you can look to find information about them”. Gives me the creeps. He didn’t say here’s where they are or live. Weird.

Posted on FB KH War Soldiers…leaves me speachless…the posting was changed within minutes…initially was headlined about bullies who post on missing child sites..attacking others who post. It struck me funny coming from them..now it has changed to this…

I have never, in my life, seen such a bunch of losers who sit around and post anonymously and refuse to be named take all of their time to bash others in some capacity. I deleted the link- I don’t have the time nor inclination to read such nonsense about all the trials and tribulations about Patricia Griffith and her personal karma tour which she created for herself because she is utterly fos.

Is a Derek Kaneshiro related to Eben Kaneshiro?

    ——————–
I can connect them on Facebook via mutual ‘friends’… (same last name)

Going from Eben’s FB (https://www.facebook.com/eben.kaneshiro/friends), to search other Kaneshiro names, he links to these people, who then link to directly to Derek Kaneshiro (https://www.facebook.com/derek.kaneshiro) who is linked to the Xtreme Edge link above about the Boxmasters classes:

    Margaret Kaneshiro – https://www.facebook.com/margaret.kaneshiro/friends
    Brianna Kaneshiro – https://www.facebook.com/BriannaProBoss/friends

These people connect to BOTH Derek and Eben by last name/Facebook ‘friends’, so that would lead me to assume there is some familial connection. And therefore, a likely link to Xtreme Edge/Horman family/Kyron. Worthy of investigation.

I did wade threw all those pages Mostly a fast scan as I don’t know most of those people On the bully crew
However there is a page on DY
I don’t know if one person wrote all these pages or if it is a collection or sorrows from many different forums
    Over a period of time
Only the pages on Kyron and DY are of any interest to me. And not much as I don’t know who wrote them
There is also a page on DeDe and Terri I don’t know who wrote that either we have all read what is there before

IMO we are lucky to be here on BOC and should be very careful where we wander In our searches

Beard said investigators found letters in Kaneshiro’s cell. One mentioned suicide and one was addressed to detectives and specifically mentioned where evidence of his alleged crimes could be found.

Portland Police Sgt. Pete Simpson said Monday that the detective on the case was aware of the letters and had been in contact with authorities in Deschutes County, but that a criminal investigation was effectively closed in the wake of Kaneshiro’s death.

“If we identify any victims here, or any victims come forward to our investigators, we would connect them with victim services,” Simpson said. “We haven’t identified any victims in Portland.”

PPB closes the investigation? Huh? I hope the FBI is on this.

    T-ruth,

Glad you all are keeping that gym in your sights. Briede (and associates?) has always been right up there in my book between #1 random perp from a national-high host of them in Portland and #3 David Durham.

He was way too eager to not only just Kaine, but to personally nail TH.

  43. grasshopper says:

(Blink, feel free to contact me to verify that it is me, the grasshopper of old!)

Sorry to be absent for so long! I sold my house and most of my possession before moving to the middle of the country to be near my 2 sons and their families (including 2 grandchildren!), which was quite an overwhelming process. Not too long after arrival I spilled orange juice on my laptop and ruined it. a desktop is just not conducive to a lot of time online! I had gotten to personally involved in the case that I probably benefitted from some distance, emotionally and physically though I kind of miss those trips to the file room! I am adjusting to live in a new city and 3 weeks ago had a knee replacement. desktop computer is simply not possible with you have your leg elevated most of the time that you are not doing exercises! so I broke down and bought a new laptop so here I am slouched on the couch so my heart is lower than my elevated knee!

I haven’t been following the case closely since last summer though I still get google alerts and was appalled to learn that Terri was hounded out of her new job in Eugene. What exactly do they expect her to do to support herself?

No remotely normal person would pursue this vendetta against Terri after all this time, especially if it is not personal there is no evidence against her and no charges of any kind ever brought ,as the head haters have done. I think they might well have been promised something in regard to their jailed relatives and friends. that would provide real motivation. Can’t remember if this as been discussed here or if I’ve done that with people privately. Only this would explain their tenacity. Of course these people probably aren’t remotely normal but they are functional enough to perpetuate this campaign.

Whatever happened to Kyron, Kaine is somehow involved. And through him, somehow LE all the up to DA and judges. Nothing else explains the way Kaine has been protected by the criminal justice system and why no investigation was ever done of Terri’s fitness as a mother before depriving her of contact with Kiara. Something big is being covered up. Big enough to scare all these people into protecting Kaine from so much as a deposition. Big enough that they only way Terri could have brought out the information she has was through the custody hearing, and I’m not sure if even that would convince the haters but maybe the media would stop reviewing suspicions against her every time her name comes up. I know a week long hearing is expensive and Im sure that was a factor in reaching settlement. but without charges being brought, there was no other way for Terri to refute them. Which means there is some reason to keep prevent Terri from regaining any credibility at all. I was personally disappointed as I remained in Portland for several weeks after vacating my home so as to be able to attend and report back to you all. I’m sure Terri was way more disappointed than I was!

In other words, the DA doesn’t want this case solved and not sure it would help if Terri could tell us what all she knows and if we knew all the shenanigans both Kaine and Desiree have been up to.

Does anybody know if Terri has been allowed to see Kiara? Considering the time that has passed, I think she must have, and wonder how that is going, wonder what Kiara was told about her mom’s disappearance from her life.

If only there was money to have Wagner bring civil suits against various people, and that the head haters could be deposed to discover their motives. If only the judges who signed those restraining orders could be compelled to explain why they did such a thing without any evidence, and renewed them without updated information, why Terri’s many conversation s with MC deputies for the first few weeks of the case were not recorded. so many if onlys.

Welcome back grasshopper. I still stand behind the fact that I think TH’s actions are to a large degree, foundational and based on legal advice.

If Eben Kaneshiro connected to Kyron via a gym, it was 24 hour.
And Briede was terminated by 24 the fall before Kyron’s termination despite a long career there.

“Corrections deputies found 35-year-old Eben Kaneshiro with one end of a sheet tied around his neck and the other around the bottom bunk area of his cell at about 3 a.m. Sunday.
Another letter found in Kaneshiro’s cell was addressed to sheriff’s deputies thanking them for how he had been treated in the jail, Beard said.
…but that a criminal investigation was effectively closed in the wake of Kaneshiro’s death.”

ok, so you want me to believe that a guy wrote a letter thanking the jail staff, then took a sheet, tied around his neck and the bottom of his bunk and hung himself, and that the investigation should be closed?
the last ‘suicide’ in the jail was just as plausable
“The last ultimately successful suicide attempt at the jail was in 2010. Donovan Joel Haskin died in the intensive care unit at St. Charles Bend four days after he was found kneeling on the floor of his cell with a bed sheet around his neck, according to The Bulletin archives.”

  46. Malty says:

@ VW I agree about gyms in general being uncomfortable places to be and that place of Briede’s being Strange
About this whole case I keep wondering if Kaine has an investment in it
Seems a little more than customer service toward Kaine
Also seems more like a closed membership Than public place

Don’t think David Durham myself but it is possible.
I still think of Logan Storm as a strong maybe

    @truth
Good luck with your search He sounds like he had victims in Portland

I may not have Internet as I have to change providers My great server is calling it quits I am sad

As it is very interesting with his death so unexpected. Like that

This is from 2010 Google cache, the dreaded 404 page not found comes up every time I try to see who this “Coach Rex” is.

There is a Rex Payne who has fought against Kaneshiro, but I’m not certain this is the same guy. Maybe someone else can find some information on the coaches employed at this place.
